Food Scene

Below Decks When the weather is fine, there is no better place to be. A plate of fresh mussels, a glass of wine and some crusty bread set on the harbour side just along from the Harvester. Some evenings there is live music, and the place has a good vibe!
It has a great sea view, great atmosphere and reasonably priced food and wines.

One of the best fresh fish restaurants I have ever been too. Can be a little pricey but it is well worth it for a special night out. You will always need to book. Do try the taster menu.

This is one of the best zoos I have ever been to. There are great play areas for the children, a good array of animals in large enclosures. Good animal houses for even those wet days. Good restaurant, cafes and ice-creams. Also a petting zoo. A full day out for all the family. Good on site parking and great for all ages.

Not to be missed. You can either catch the ferry boat to Dartmouth and return on the steam railway andopen air bus back. Beaches has its own dedicated bus stop called Southsands so there is no need to use the car. Buy the round robin ticket from Torquay harbourside. 12 miles of nostalgic steam railway takes you all the way to Dartmouth via the ferry at the end. A full day out and a great all in price.
