Thatched Tavern is the nearest pub restuarant, beautiful listed and old pub, very popular, do need car to get to but only a few minutes. maidencombe coved beach adjacent. There are so many amazing places to eat here as a foodie i could give you a long list to suit all tastes and budgets.. Mx

One of our first mitchellin restuarants, lovely steaks, relaxed atmospher and not pretentious. If you prefer your service to be full attention and top notch then maybe give this one a miss, food is always nice though. Book in advance in summer. Also have the harour Kitchen Torquay which is another mitchellin restuarant.. I have many other ideas for all prices and tastes. Just ask, happy to book for you. Mx

3&4 Beacon HillOne of our first mitchellin restuarants, lovely steaks, relaxed atmospher and not pretentious. If you prefer your service to be full attention and top notch then maybe give this one a miss, food is always nice though. Book in advance in summer. 1 Palk StSoho is a small quant wine bar, nice selection of wines and outside seating for summer. Has live bands at times. There is also Coco wine bar and Las Iguanas wine bar and food place both across Torquay beach. Of course their is a Yate pub which does food from breakfast to evenign and drinks from beers to cocktails all at good price for family. So many other places just ask. Mx
Sightseeing
I love cockington village, There is events there in the summer, look on line. car parking, Arts and crafts shops, listing buildings, The drum inn pub. There are various places in there to have cream teas, i recommend the walled garden tea rooms or the one where there is a guy playing an old piano to Noel coward tunes.. walks in the woods, Food at the various places. Shire horses with carts to ride. Great place for the family and to have meal.. listed building. cockington is part of the conservation/ country and coast hertitage places. Take picnic if organized.. Mx

Model village with local scenes, well known current social media scenes and funny little scenes to bring a smile. in winter they put the snow effect on. Night time have flood light and atmospheric. About 5 minutes drive from my house.

Exeter City has so much history and lovely place to shop and eat. you can stop to see Exeter cathedral and eat in one of the many places after a day of shopping...Exeter is about 25-25 minutes drive away. Mx

Totnes is a must see town. please google. so much history, quaint shops, home of the hippy movement, vegan/vegetarian restuarants and culture. Alterative culture/shops, arty type. shops including healing/tarot readers/ spiritualist etc. Happy shopper as items of food that is not usually accessed in our supermarkets in these areas. Lovely cafes, The red Star tavern lovely pub for drinks, food and outside eating. Also there is a lovely bisto across the way from the pub with sitting outside by the canal. Parking can be limited, so bear this in mind when hunting, but there are a couple of car parks and supermarket allows 2hrs if you shop inside. Mx

The QuayBrixham is another place to visit again history in the making there. please google. lovely fishing village and lands fresh fish to source all the local lovely restuarants and fish bar, very busy area!.. must go!.. amazing views to be had from Berry Head and walks with scenic views.. The Berry Head hotel for drinks and lunch and in fact so many other places to choice from just ask me... The Golden Hind Ship is here with all the history that entails. Mx
For all the family, has seasonaly events, paid parking, large restuarant. please google to see whats on here. I believe oldest caves in europe. 10 minutes drive from my house on the way to Torquay Harbour. Mx

Lovely Blue flag beaches i would recommend are Blackpool sands in Dartmouth, beautful drive up and Dartmouth is a must see place too. Then we have Goodrington Beach in Paigton which is good for the whole family as eateries, pub and hopefully the water park is open. Then we have Broadsands beach and Dawlish Warren. i like Dawlish town also. Of course we have over 2000 beaches with its cove in Devon to choice from the above are blue flag beaches. I have coved beach adjacent to my home and a walk through the woods. Its a steep climb 2/3rd way up but if not problem with walking it is lovely down there and have had sealions and dolpins last few years down there. cafe open there or take drinks.

Then we have Goodrington Beach in Paigton which is good for the whole family as eateries, pub and hopefully the water park is open. Swimming indoors with wave pool and large slide when the rain comes to play!... Across Torquay Beach and about 15 minutes drive away, car park outside can reimburse some of the cost of parking if you swim. Can get burgers and chips inside.. Mx
