431 Main StreetA must go to hike. It’s about a 15 min drive from the house. Take HWY 64 towards Asheville, turn right in HWY9 towards Black Mtn. In about 2 to 3 miles turn right onto Shumont road. Take this to the end of the road. The hike is an easy .4 of a mile and has 360 views of the lake and mountains for miles in all directions!

You can only truly see all of the beautiful exposed granite of our area from on the lake. The lake tour is worth it!
