Broad menu with generous portions and the food is consistently good. Get the onion rings (SO good) and a slice of pie from the shop a few doors down for dessert. If you can, sit out front on the porch or on the deck out back – some of the tables have firepits. Reservations recommended.

One of our favorite hikes with older kids and/or dogs. Also good for a dip, but ironically not the main attraction.

Our favorite spot in the summer! There is a designated swimming area with a sandy beach, and you can also rent canoes, kayaks, SUPs, and pedal boats. They’ve got a lot of other things to do on land too – a playground, volleyball net, grills, picnic tables, a snack bar, a short hiking trail, and massive lawn with lots of shade.

Good for swimming and walking/hiking. They have a swimming hole and a playground close to the entrance. There is a flat, gravel out-and-back trail that runs for a couple of miles alongside the river. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can hike up to Hamilton Falls, which is one of the biggest waterfalls in VT. Stop at Honeypie for a burger and a shake on your way there or back.
