The Copper Fox is a 5 minute walk from the house and has some of the best food and cocktails in the area. They are open for dinner Weds-Sun and reservations are highly recommended. They also do takeout – you can call when they open at 5 and place your order and tell them when you want to pick it up.

Broad menu with generous portions and the food is consistently good. Get the onion rings (SO good) and a slice of pie from the shop a few doors down for dessert. If you can, sit out front on the porch or on the deck out back – some of the tables have firepits. Reservations recommended.

Our favorite spot in the summer! There is a designated swimming area with a sandy beach, and you can also rent canoes, kayaks, SUPs, and pedal boats. They’ve got a lot of other things to do on land too – a playground, volleyball net, grills, picnic tables, a snack bar, a short hiking trail, and massive lawn with lots of shade.

Camp Plymouth State Park
2008 Scout Camp RdOur favorite spot in the summer! There is a designated swimming area with a sandy beach, and you can also rent canoes, kayaks, SUPs, and pedal boats. They’ve got a lot of other things to do on land too – a playground, volleyball net, grills, picnic tables, a snack bar, a short hiking trail, and massive lawn with lots of shade.
Good for swimming and walking/hiking. They have a swimming hole and a playground close to the entrance. There is a flat, gravel out-and-back trail that runs for a couple of miles alongside the river. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can hike up to Hamilton Falls, which is one of the biggest waterfalls in VT.
Stop at Honeypie for a burger and a shake on your way there or back.

There is a flat, gravel out-and-back trail that runs for a couple of miles alongside the river. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can hike up to Hamilton Falls, which is one of the biggest waterfalls in VT.

This place has something for everyone, from food to toys to clothes, and it’s basically impossible to leave without buying something! Two locations – one in Weston and one in Rockingham. Mildred’s Dairy bar at either location is good for lunch.
