Traveler advice

Getting around

Train station, buses or driving are all options

Although the Cotswolds is easiest to explore by car, Kemble is lucky in having a train station right in the village, with connections to London Paddington. You can also get trains to Stroud, a local market town with a great farmer's market on Saturdays, and Cheltenham, famous for its many festivals and Regency architecture. There are buses from the village to Tetbury and Cirencester too, and we can recommend local taxi services.
Don't miss

Cotswold country park and beach

Just a few minutes' drive away is the country park and beach, with swimming in the lake, options to hire boats and paddle boards, and a lovely walk around the shore, with a cafe for refreshments.
Don't miss

Saturday's farmers market in Stroud

Busy and thriving farmers market in Stroud on Saturday mornings, possible to visit by train from Kemble or a 20 minute drive away.
Don't miss

The Thames Path starts at Kemble

We can access the Thames Path straight from the village - about a 45 minute walk away is the source of the Thames, or you can head in the opposite direction downstream to Ewen and beyond.
