It’s a great day out – walking on the Purbecks fossil hunting with great swimming places then a hike up to the pub. Hatch bar, guest and local ales, outdoor seating on large stones, great sausage pie, fossil museum, stone carving festival in July-August, Jazz festival in September.

We park near the chine on Western Road and walk down to the beach. There is a little cut through to the Chine. Great sandy beach with cafes and ice cream kiosks.

Studland beach over on the chain ferry in Poole. Great shallow swimming for small children. Bankes Arms Pub is further along on Manor Road towards Old Harry Rock!
