Elegant spot for Lunch in the Jordaan. A bit pricey - but can be affordable if you stick to soup or the delicious salmon brioche. Recommend if you are in the area, and want to be in a beautiful building. This is inside a boutique hotel.

Arts & Culture

Yes it's a must. Van Gogh was truly an original. This museum is incredible with over 200 original works. If there is 1 museum you will see - I highly recommend this be the one. Easily takes 2-3 hours.

Dutch Master Paintings. This is a very large museum and for true art lovers. The building itself is a piece of art. Recommend spending a good chunk of time there, as it is very large.

Sightseeing

When the weather is nice, a canal tour is a must. There are numerous companies that offer this service, at various prices (10-20 euros). We enjoyed Friendship Cruise, which disembarks from the Red Light District (in front of the Bull Dog) because the boat is very small, the crew young, friendly, with funny stories. You can also buy cocktails on board. Recommend this company WHEN the weather is nice and you can cruise with the top uncovered.

It's near our home! We love to ride to Amstelpark on our bikes, and check out the Windmill, do a loop around the lake and go to Cafe Klein Kalfje.

Shopping

This is a gorgeous walking/shopping area in the Jordaan. This is enjoyable to browse even if you're not in the market to buy anything, as the shops are mainly small boutiques with lovely window displays.
