Historic building
The Village at Grand Traverse Commons is like no other place in the country. The Asylum opened in 1885 and closed in the mid 1980’s. Thanks to developer Ray Minervini, the historic building were saved and now are home to shops, restaurants and living spaces. Restaurants include Pepe Nero, Stella’s, Spanglish, S2S, and Red Spire. There is also a winery, Brewery, coffee house, and bakery on the property along with great hiking trails.
