The gardens are stunning, and the food is all fresh from their own organic crop. They are masters of design. Don't book at the restaurant, rather drop by the greenhouse - which does not take bookings - and join the queue for a table. Also drop by the tasting room, which has "snack plates" large enough for lunch for two.

Reserve a picnic lunch and they'll prepare everything that you'll need for a luxe lunch on their lawns. They'll provide blankets, hammocks, and lawn games, too.

Signal Hill RoadAccording to Sarah, these are the best botanical gardens in the world. They are massive. The Fynbos (the region where Cape Town sits) is a biologically unique region, and many of the plants that flourish here do not grow anywhere else in the world. The Tea Room inside the gardens has lovely meals and drinks.. Picnics + reading on the lawns are also great.

You can get away with wearing workout gear and sneakers, but you must bring a backpack with: sunscreen, sunglasses, your phone in a ziplock baggie, emergency snacks, and at least 2L of water per person on your hike. If you have a true crisis, you can call "Mountain Rescue" and they will save you.
