Parks & Nature

From I-91 in Putney, take exit 4 and follow signs to US 5. Follow US 5 north for less than a mile into the center of Putney. Within the downtown area of Putney, take a right onto Mill St. Follow Mill St. for 150 feet and head straight onto a dirt road. Go 0.1 mile down this road and there will be a very small parking area with room for one car at a small sign for the conservation area on the left. To get to Putney, take I-91 north from Brattleboro or I-91 south from White River Junction.

From I-91 in Putney, take exit 4 and follow signs to US 5. Follow US 5 north for less than a mile into the center of Putney. Take a hike alongside the Stickney Brook in Dummerston and hunt for deep pools in the brook where you can dip your feet. Large, flat islands in the stream make ideal spots to enjoy a picnic while taking in Vermont’s natural beauty.
