Kleinmond is a small coastal town in the Overberg region of the Western. It is situated inside a UNESCO-declared biosphere about 90 km east of Cape Town between Betty's Bay and Hermanus. The town's name, meaning "small mouth" in Afrikaans, refers to its location at the mouth of the Bot River lagoon. From June to November, southern right whales can be seen from the coastline, where they come to mate and calf. Nice coastal drive from Gordon’s Bay with different stops to spot whales.

Parks & Nature

The Disa Kloof trail is a very nice easy walk. This trail follows the Disa River up as far as a beautiful waterfall. It is named after the red disa orchids which flower on the cliff faces. A boardwalk with a seat has been built near the waterfall. The leopard kloof is more difficult. The Red Disa restaurant serves nice and good food for reasonable prices.

In hot pursuit of adrenalin adventure in nature? A zipline canopy tour in the company of soaring eagles, surrounded by breath-taking Cape fynbos panoramas and mountainscapes only an hour’s drive from Cape Town by car could well be exactly what you are looking for. Thrilled zipliners who have completed the course have described it as super safe. One commented that the quality of the structure and equipment was reassuringly high and had made her fear of heights irrelevant.
