We have 2 small children (aged 3 years and 8 months) and love how child-friendly Copenhagen is. It starts with great pram-access to pretty much any building, public transport, or open space in the city and continues with a great variety of things to do with the little ones. Here is a list of things our kids really enjoy.
For the smallest kids, only 5 minutes walk from the apartment. Wonderful kids area with tons of books, indoor playground, etc.

Good if your kids are a little older (3 years plus). They can steer the boat and get a little fishing net to collect trash and help keep the canals clean.

Traveler advice
Getting around
Experience the city like a local — explore it by bike
Copenhagen is a very bike-friendly city, due to the excellent infrastructure (separate bike lanes almost everywhere) and the fact that the terrain is very flat. Biking is a wonderful way of exploring the city, as you get to soak in the atmosphere of the different parts of town and you are more flexible as to where you want to go. Find a bike with the “Bycyklen” or “Donkey Republic” apps.
Don't miss
Explore the canals at your own pace
You can rent a little motorized boat (fits 6 adults and has a picnic table) and explore the canals at your own pace. You don’t need a boating license. It’s called “GoBoat” and you have to make a booking in advance. It’s 750 DKK (110 USD/100 EUR) for 2 hours.
What to pack
It can be rainy
The saying “There is no such thing as bad weather — only bad clothing” very much applies to Copenhagen, where it can be rainy at times. Do yourself a favour and pack rain gear.
