Food scene

This is the closest place to find all the things, gas, good food, cell service, pizza. About 20 minutes south of here. Lots to see here. Watch out for moose as you drive the Peak to Peak. Seriously!

A very popular town anytime of year. Gateway to Rocky Mtn National Park. Great restaurants, coffee shops, novelty stores. Steer clear of the elk on the walking paths! About a 40minute drive.

You really can't skip this spot. Just a few minutes drive from here and a short walk. Barely Nth of Ward turn west on the Brainard Lake Rec Rd. About a 10 min drive park at the "Winter Gate" parking. Walk up the road about 10-15 minutes to this lake. Keep on walking (depending on snow) to iconic Brainard Lake. This is a commitment though, give yourself a few hours.

Getting around

Walk around Ward!

Ward is a really interesting town to explore. It's a little hamlet at 9,200ft with about 170 people. An old gold mining town that may once have had a population of 10,000!! Walk down to the Jacklegger's Merc for a cup of coffee or a great piece of pie! Explore the roads around town. Hope you're a dog person, cause there's plenty. Bring treats!
