Sightseeing

Trevone beach is about a mile from Padstow and offers a sandy and rocky beach. There is a natural swimming pool in the rocks on the rocky beach. The coast path runs on to Harlyn or back to Padstow. There is a car park nearby and a cafe/restaurant with live music summer evenings. It’s a nice walk from padstow either via Crugmeer or around the headland if you feel super fit.

Great to hire a bike from Padstow ride 5 miles to Wadebridge and stop off for lunch. If feeling very energetic carry on to Bodmin it’s pretty flat all the way and absolutely stunning scenery. There’s a great vineyard on the way- Camel Valley

Traveler advice

Book before you go

Restaurants

Best to book way in advance. Apparently Padstow has 52 restaurants and is classed as the best place in the world to eat. There are places to suit all pockets and tastes but please book in advance. Top restaurants, Rick Steins seafood and Paul Ainsworths No 6. The Pig,Harlyn. Mid range: Rojanos, Steins Bistro and Steins cafe. Other great places to eat: Greens, Puchellis, Barnabys. All the pubs offer food, The Old Customs House, The Ship, Shipwrights, Golden Lion and London Inn. There are also usually pop up restaurants on the local farm, Prawn On The Farm and another.
Getting around

Arriving by bus

Get off opposite Tesco. Go down the hill and take the 2nd turn on the left into Boyd Avenue then first right into Drake Road. The bus usually connects with the train at Bodmin.
Getting around

Newquay Airport

The airport is only 8 miles away, taxis run into Padstow or you can hire a car there.
What to pack

Cornish weather

If the weather is poor on the Padstow coast it’s only 15 miles to the south coast where quite often they will be having sun and vice versa. Bring a lightweight pack a mac!
Don't miss

The Eden Project

Just 17 miles away on the south coast a great day out for any age especially good for a rainy day.
