A short walk from our place, this Italian place is a ptown classic, with a focus on seafood. The cozy brick lower level, the large upstairs with bar, and the airy garden are all wonderful places to eat in their own way, it's hard to choose a favorite. Don't miss the fried oysters - they are never on the regular menu, but almost always available as a special!

Our favorite sandwiches in town. The online ordering is seamless too. They have an "outpost" at Herring Cove Beach, too.

The closest sit-down restaurant to our place. Great water views. Not the most gourmet food, but ok spot for a simple meal and a drink with an ocean-side seat, and friendly bartenders.

The best seafood in town. Don't miss it. Dollar oysters every day from 3-5pm.

The best coffee close to our place. They cook their pastries on-site too, so they're often hot and fresh.

Gourmet market a short walk away, with excellent sandwiches and prepared food options. Owned by Liz of Liz Cafe (also good)

Our favorite brunch in town. Eggs Benedict are all much better than that dish has a right to be. The "flippers" (fried dough) often sell out quickly, order them the second you sit down or risk missing out! Owned by Liz, who also own's Angel Foods near our place, so if you like one place, try the other. Typically very busy, be prepared to wait for a table. If you drive, parking nearby is very limited, but there's usually some on Bradford St. on the right if you keep going west over the hill a quarter mile or so.

A bit of a hidden gem, this has exquisite french pastries, as well as sandwiches, soups, and lunch things. It's a very small place run by one person (cook, cleaning, cashier), so be prepared to wait a bit, but it is worth it, she pours her heart into every little thing there. Note: This is in the yellow building at the bottom of the brick plaza opposite the library, easy to miss.

Unbeatable people-watching from second-floor deck. Food: These folks cook octopus better than anyone. But overall, a very well done new-american restaurant with lots of options for everyone. Not cheap, but worth the price.

Mostly classic menu with a hippie twist, and very, very well executed. This place marches to the beat of it's own drummer and a bit hard to describe - not a place you'd expect to find in ptown, but then again, not sure where else in the world such an odd restaurant could work. Try it.

For food, ambiance, and service, one of my favorite restaurants anywhere in the world. Seafood-focused Italian served in a cozy old wharf with water views (or dine on the beach). Perfection. Cash only, reservations only accepted by phone. (different place from Ciro and Sals, which is also a nice restaurant)
