Sightseeing

It can be busy on a hot day especially in the holidays but it’s worth a visit. You can park at the Saracens Head and walk along the old railway to famous Biblins bridge. Go over bridge and as you walk over you’ll see a little beach you can swim from. Then walk back along river and get the boat back across the river to the pub! Be sure to book as it gets booked up! There’s also a another hotel just up the road you can eat and drink at too.

Five minutes drive from the pod. You can park in lay-by near the bell or in the bell if you’re eating or drinking there. There are some lovely circular walks from here and the bell have maps for £1 that you can buy or ask me. For wild swimming you can either go near the bridge at the bell which is the well known spot. If you fancy a bit of skinny dipping you can walk along river, entrance opposite lay-by over bridge from The Bell. Walk along the path for about 20 mins, just before you reach the manor House grounds on the right there is a path down to river with a little people beach. To the right of the stoney area there is a deep pool for swimming 🏊‍♀️

Put in Garway Hill carpark into google maps and it take you to the small carpark. Go through metal gate and take left hand path. Follow it all the way around up to monument at top and down path back to car. Lovely circular walk. Takes about an hour. Look out for the wild ponies!

You can ring up and arrange. Awesome day! They take you up the river and you can canoe down, stopping at Symonds Yat for lunch and pint and then hitting the rapids! Finishing back in Monmouth for dinner and a visit :-)

Food scene

Yummy food right next to river. 13 minute drive from pod but worth it as food is good. If it’s sunny the garden is fab too, massive and riverside views :)

Local pub five minutes walk. Dog friendly. Nice ales and opposite lovely Garway common. Food is okay but just simple pub food!
