Parks & Nature

We love taking a walk down to the Company Gardens and feeding the squirrels. Walk down the lane towards the centre of town, or spend some time in the garden just enjoying the scene. While here, you can also pop in to the National Art Museum, which is curated with an African angle, which makes it quite unique and worth a visit.

We love, love Addo. For under R5,000 (USD400), you can fly to Port Elizabeth, rent a car and stay for 3 nights in the elephant park. There are loads of animals to be seen and is our favourite wildlife park. Self-drive or go on arranged tours or do both. If you're not visiting Kruger National Park, then go to Addo. It's worth it.

Shopping

There's always something on at the Waterfront and well worth a couple of visits. Shopping, restaurants and coffee shop is one reason to go there. But we also love to go for the bars with live music, early morning breakfast, food markets, kids play areas, boat trips and much more.

Essentials

Just around the corner from the apartment. Try the roast chicken to go and all the amazing fruit. Best coffee in town, we believe. Get some to go.

Sightseeing

An absolute must do! It's not so much the destination as the trip. Go via Chapmans' Peak on your way to Cape Point and come back via Kalk Bay. Stop at the penguins and eat some fish and chips, ice cream and browse in Kalk Bay. My top recommendation. Leave early morning, come back late afternoon. The views and experience will stay with you forever.
