  • We had a really nice stay in Florence's little house. Everything was clean and fully equipped, so you don't need to bring anything. We went there by public transport, which was definitely possible but one has to love hiking and walking around, as the next supermarket is 3 kilometers away from the house. I would definitely come again.

  • Beautiful location, quiet & serene. Lovely apartment in beautiful valley. Domain is private owned, secure with gate and fence. Small house, but even bigger then we thought. The open fireplace in the living room is a defiant plus! Kitchen need some renovation, tough it was sufficient for the time we spend. We will come back in Spring or Summer time for sure! From the house you can immediate walk into the forest, car is needed to do shopping in nearby village of Vireux-Molhain (2 bikes are also available - stored in the garage). Florence will pick you up from the village, to bring you to the house. French language is needed to be able to communicate properly.

    A small refreshing house in the middel of nowhere with a cosy flower, berry and veggy garden. Surrounded by nature in a child friendly environnement. A small town on a 5 minute walk with a 7/7 store for all the necessary things.
    EXTRA SMALL house - EXTRA LARGE holiday A contemporary holiday house in a natural setting! An idyllic place in a modern setting, equipped with all possible conveniences that allow you to stay with your kids for a longer period. There is a large private wild garden with wooden terrace where you can enjoy the view, the weather or a BBQ. The area around the house, in a small and old holiday park, is equipped with a playground and a secret camp area to be conquered and rearranged by the children. From Septembre till novembre you can use the fully equipped kitchen to prepare applesauce from our apples hanging on the big, old apple tree. In case of bad weather, books, a large DVD collection, you can login on your apple TV or Netflix account, games, hobby equipment, model railway and marble alley or even the Play station are ideal to pass some lovely hours together. (The wifi thing is a true miracle in this area so do not expect to much of it, sometimes it works as new, sometimes it doesn't work at all...) There is a local super market in the village, open 7/7, where warm baked bread and sandwiches are available every morning. You can reach this supermarket on foot passing along the farm and the horses in the orchard, and then enjoy your fresh sandwiches sitting near the murmuring water on the bench near the bridge. Lots of enjoyable things to do in the neighbourhood! Starting at the "de spotvogel" cottage, some beautiful footpaths lead to the villages nearby. The local restaurants offer delicious dishes, and after a heavenly meal you could take the steam train to return to Treignes, where you can taste a local Super de Fagnes (a beer from a local brewery, open for visitors) in combination with a visit to the internationally renowned steam train museum. You can even have a quick glance at the workshop where steam trains are renovated. Close to the church there is a local pub with a cosy terrace, the innkeeper will pamper you with locally brewed beers and his wife will prepare the most delicious dishes for you. Local trout flambé with Pastis combined with a blond Super de Fagnes on the terrace is a real must! In Givet you can find the best Italian restaurant of the region called Casa Mia! The Viroinval region has a lot to offer, those who want to get inspired by this region should follow our (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) page, offering all tips nicely gathered for an enjoyable exploration.   • The Spotvogel is a delightful little cozy place where you forget the time. Getting up with the fog that covers the hills like a blanket, go to sleep when everything becomes even quieter and you only hear some noise from the trees. All the amenities are there. The cottage is nicely furnished and although it is cute, it feels spacious at the same time due to the good decor. Our boys are already looking forward to the next time, and so are we! See you soon!

    The holiday park Oignies is located in the Viroin-Hermeton region, 2 km away from the village of Oignies and just 4 km away from the French border. This resort is especially attractive due to the well-maintained bungalows that are located in the middle of a forest area spread over 12 hectares. Guests can either rent a semi-detached house or an independent house for a family. The park is well equipped and functional. The facilities provided include a playground, a zoo, and a shared laundry, which you can use for a fee. The living room is furnished with a sofa bed for 2 people. Cot and high chair are available on request. A higher deposit is collected from youth groups and school classes. The resort was recently completely renovated. It offers guests the warmth and comfort of a typical bungalow made of wood, where you can simply relax and unwind. It is a unique place, with wild and preserved nature, away from all sources of pollution (noise, pesticides, light or electro-magnetic pollution). The cottage offers basic but all necessary comfort with hot water, electricity and gaz cooking. It has a wood stove in the sitting room which gives a beautiful warmth in the cold days. Indoors: three bedrooms : 1 double, 1 single bedroom and 1 twin. There are two extra mattresses which can be placed in one of the bedrooms. A magical setting, in the middle of nature. Jays, a great woodpecker ... and even a doe came to visit us. Arrow rides start directly from the chalet for a dip in the greenery.   • We had a very nice weekend in the super atmospheric house! On arrival it was (of course) cold in the house, but after firing up the beautiful stove it was warm in no time. The steam train was a great success for our 2-year-old son, furthermore we didn't see much of the area due to the rain. We like to come back one day with good weather so that we can actually walk in the area and use the beautiful outdoor pool.

We had a flat tire and they did not hesitate to help us, inflating the tire on our spare wheel and helping us dismantle the wheel a bit too hard to remove. Perfect to relax.   • Semi-detached cabin hidden in the woods. Everything you need in a delightful setting with plenty of outside space. Play area plus donkey and goats for children. short walk to village with baker, butcher and general shop with fresh vegetables and lovely cheese cut from large cheese on request. also a couple of cafes larger towns within 10-15 minutes drive. lovely walks and cycle rides, including in the national forest. maps and guides in reception. the cabin is snug rather than spacious for 4 adults. it is well equipped however. For English visitors please note it helps to speak French or Dutch, this is not like tourist areas where everyone speaks English, nor are the guides and leaflets written in English. No reason they should be but just so you know! We had a lovely time and would gladly stay again thank you Valerie

  • We spent a great 3 days at Baudouin's place. It was roomy and the kitchen had all we needed for simple meals. The swingset out back, toys in the front and very generous offer of donkey rides from the host's granddaughter ensured our kids had a great time. This is the perfect place to explore castle ruins, Fondry des Chiens, Jardin d'O in Viroinval and Fagnes Brewery. And even more to see next time!

  • The location of this cottage is exceptional: nature, river, animals, old church and cemetery, absolute calm. No complaints, it was perfect. Always a little complicated to bring bed sheets and bath towels + dish towels, when you want to rest (with young children), because it requires an additional organization that we would do well (at the beginning and return) . But we were warned so we did with it. On site, enough dishes, no frills in the furniture but high chair, cot and toys available very popular. Few contacts with the hosts but you could ring their doorbell to ask questions or ask for a medicine.

  • We really enjoyed our time at Baudouin's house! The garden is great (green, cosy, with a nice veranda), and the surrounding nature is fantastic - peaceful and quiet, walks along the river, up the hill, to nearby villages, and through beautiful, lush forests are just a stone throw away. Communication both before and during our stay was prompt, the hosts were very kind and accommodating, gave us hiking tips, and could even find the time to take our children on a walk with their donkeys. The house is relatively basic (nothing fancy) but it has everything you need (just note to take sheets, towels, toiletries, etc. - the listing is clear about that). It was still pretty chilly outside in the evening but it was warm and cosy inside, and we even made use of the fireplace! We very much appreciated the late check-out time as we could make the most of our Sunday (which really makes a difference for a short weekend stay). Thanks for everything and we hope to come back to your house and this beautiful region soon!

  • This is a very nice place! At the back of the house you overlook a grass garden with fruit trees and behind it the hills with forests. Outside you can hear birds singing and in the background you hear the river. The host is very friendly and helpful. You have a lot of privacy here and the house is pleasant. It has everything you need: kitchen, hot shower, a good bed and a wood-burning stove. We enjoyed the many beautiful walks that start right in the back garden.

  • Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Treignes (Viroinval territory) is an idyllic village in a beautiful but relatively unknown part of the Ardennes. Perfect for long walks (directly from the house) and mountain bike trips. The garden of the house opens into a forest where the children can build and play camps. The house itself is relatively small (everything on the ground floor), but everything is provided. The kitchen is very well equipped. There is a cozy stove in the living room. There are 3 bedrooms and 1 sofa bed. Bathroom relatively small and basic. Sheets and towels can be rented separately. Mountain bikes for children available! In short, excellent value for money. The hostess is very punctual and communicative, and gives useful tips to make the most of your stay. Recommended!

  • the house is much nicer and more spacious than in the photos. it is cozy, spotless, with a lovely wood stove, a shower, separate toilet and a bedroom with its own bathroom. the kitchen is really fantastic. everything you could possibly need is there. everything works, everything is nice and clean. the view is super and what is so nice: there are all possible hiking maps and info for your stay. you can walk / cycle directly from home. you have complete privacy, also in the garden. the WIFI is perfect and the TV too, with so many channels! and what I find so surprising: there is enough wood with firelighters and newspapers to make the fire. in short: this is the most perfect house I have ever rented! we will be happy to come back here soon. Elisabeth is a very pleasant hostess. in short: it was a super holiday!

  • The chalet is very well located in the middle of nature and at a good distance from the other chalets. The decoration is minimal but everything is comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped (electro, utensils, salt / pepper / essentials ...) and the pellet stove is very pleasant. Caroline is super reactive and very friendly.   • Even though the cottage is in a bungalow park, you have complete privacy here. It is a very quiet park in a beautiful forest. The cottage is extremely suitable for 4 people. it is clean and the kitchen is well equipped. you can cook well here. the bathroom is wonderful too, with a small bathtub. there is a Pellet stove and there are also wood pellets for burning. this heater gives a wonderful warmth and can be switched on and off with 1 button. You can walk directly from the cottage. You will find forest trails and hiking trails on your doorstep. The beds are good and the bedding and pillows are clean and good. do cover yourself, bring sheets, pillowcases and towels! I still visit this house often! recommended!

    Chalet de charme tout en bois. Le chalet est entouré par une nature splendide. Idéal pour retrouver la tranquillité, les promenades, le vélo, un vrai retour aux sources dans un nid douillet. Il se situe en Province de Namur au calme d'un petit village, mais proche du centre. Le chalet peut accueillir 4 à 6 personnes. Il est chauffé par un poêle à bois et par un feu à pellets (que vous devez acheter ou prévoir) A partir du 1 novembre jusqu'à fin mars, nous ne le louons pas moins de 4 nuits
    Un sauna est disponible et peut être utilisé sur demande
    L’endroit est idyllique pour ceux qui recherchent le calme, le repos, la gastronomie, la lecture, la promenade, le retour à la nature. (Idéal aussi pour les enfants). La nature et le bois proche entourent le chalet. Vous serez donc susceptible d'apercevoir des biches, des chevreuils, des sangliers mais aussi d'être importunés par des souris, campagnols, guêpes, écureuils, oiseaux nichant dans les petits interstices du bois..... Nous voulons que l'endroit reste des plus agréables et les animaux de compagnie ne sont pas tolérés.

    Dit charmante en gezellige huisje in een oase van rust werd eind 2018 volledig gerenoveerd. Het huisje is een toevluchtsoord voor zij die op zoek zijn naar rust en natuur. Een perfecte uitvalsbasis voor mooie wandelingen, mountainbiketochten of al wat de Ardennen te bieden hebben...
    Het huisje omvat twee slaapkamers met telkens een tweepersoonsbed. De badkamer is volledig vernieuwd en beschikt over een ruime inloopdouche. Verder is er een gezellige zithoek met slaapbank. Er is een tevens gerieflijk en volledig vernieuwd keukentje met eettafel voor 6 personen. Buiten is er een voldoende ruim terras met picknicktafel. Er is een privaat tuintje, maar eveneens is er een gemeenschappelijke speelweide met speeltoestellen.
    Het huisje is gelegen met zicht op het dal van de rivier de Viroin. Op regelmatige basis passeert in het dal een stoomtreintje. Voorts wordt de buurt getypeerd door een zeer aangename rust!

  • What you see is what you get. If you want to get away from the busyness of life this is great place to start. The cabin has everything you need and the views are lovely. Treignes (and the other Viroinval villages) are cosy and peaceful with some nice walks. We didn’t get to see Geert but communication with him is easy and we got clear instructions for check-in/out. No issues whatsoever. We had a nice stay!

    Un chalet, pour des vacanciers désireux d'un retour aux sources, retour vers Soi, au milieu des bois magnifiques des Ardennes Belges. J’aime partager ce coin de paradis où le calme est assuré, loin des nuisances habituelles que nous connaissons. L’endroit est idéal pour déstresser, profiter de la nature sauvage et des balades en forêt. Le chalet est dans un domaine, mais le premier chalet est à 200m et n’est pas visible. Un ruisseau coule au pied du domaine,.
    Domaine dans les bois, loin de toute nuisance. Et très isolé. Un des derniers chalet avant la forêt, le premier voisin est à 200 m et n'est pas visible.

  • It is a cozy house with many floors. Good for the leg muscles for those who are not used to that. The children thought it was great that there were so many toys in the garage. The cottage is very homely decorated. Everything from accommodation was there. I can't remember what I would have missed. The kitchen was in perfect shape. So much kitchen equipment that was available, including a chocolate pot. Very striking! Dishwashing that worked quietly, efficiently and quickly. So nice that you can sit on both the front and the back of the house. At the front you can have a delicious breakfast with a beautiful view. The bedrooms were also okay, as well as the plumbing. Maybe a tip, maybe a little more lighting. The sauna was of course also tested and approved. So great after a brisk walk. The toilets worked great and very good extraction system. The children's bedroom was so nice. "So cozy": my 6 year old daughter said. The children thought it was great that they could brush their teeth in their own room, just like the big people. My daughter and the boys also loved the costumes. Entire fantasy stories came to life. The men also found their convenience. The BBQ outside, such a practical, fast and large BBQ. Maybe a tip. The slopes in the garden certainly have its charms, but it was sometimes difficult to play a game. Everything rolled down. (Good for the condition). It would also be easy if a staircase had been laid on the side to go upstairs to the garden. It is not so convenient to get the glasses and drink up if you want aperitifs in the garden.   • Viroinval is a beautiful region. The house itself is sufficient with 2 couples and children from 1 year. The trampoline is a super plus for the children. Mini-market at 2 minutes by car, very handy and they are open on Sundays. Kathleen has spoiled our and the children too. The toys for the children from 1 year to 5 years is more than next themselves if we had brought some toys. Hygiene is super super present. It is nice and convenient to not have to bring your decks and sheets from home. We would definitely recommend the house.

De chalet is gelegen in een prachtig bosrijk gebied dat is uitgeroepen tot natuurgebied, vlakbij de Franse grens . Chalet "La Folie" staat op 2000 m² en chalet " Het is er enorm rustig, elke dag ontwaken met het gezang van de vogeltjes. Ideaal voor mensen die houden van natuur, wandelen, mountainbike, mountainboard, kayak, paardrijden, paintball,avonturenparcours en in de winter mogelijkheid tot ski en langlauf. De chalet heeft drie slaapkamers in de vorm van een slaapzolder die toegankelijk is via een steil trapje, één slaapkamer met 2 éénpersoonsbedden, één slaapkamer met 1 tweepersoonsbed en 2 éénpersoonsbedden. Via deze kamer hebt u toegang tot de derde slaapkamer met 1 tweepersoonsbed. Er zijn dekbedden en hoofdkussens voorzien voor 8 personen. De badkamer beschikt over een douche en toilet, er is een ruime living met houtkachel die dient als hoofdverwarming. De keuken is gezellig maar wel met een laagzittend plafond ,er is een vrije hoogte van 1m90. Opgelet dus voor enkele laag zittende balken. De keuken is voorzien van een gasfornuis met gasoven en grill, microgolfoven, koffiezet, vaatwas, buiten een bbq, pic-nictafel en een speeltuig voor de kinderen. Enkel voor natuurliefhebbers en mensen die niet op zoek zijn naar luxe maar houden van de simpele waardevolle dingen in het leven !!! Fuifnummers gelieve zich te onthouden! Let wel de chalets zijn rookvrij! Honden zijn toegelaten zonder extra kost!!
    De chalets zijn gelegen in een prachtig, als natuurgebied geklasseerd bos! Je kan er naar hartelust wandelen en kinderen kunnen er zich uitleven aan het riviertje beneden in de vallei op een paar honderd meter van de chalets. Buiten wandelen is er natuurlijk ook nog heel wat anders te doen. Je kan er grotten bezoeken (grottes de neptune), de Maasvallei is nabij met zijn versterkte steden en oude forten en van Mariembourg rijdt er een stoomtrein naar Treignes waar er ook een treinmuseum is. En er is nog veel meer! Voor de durvers heb je in Fumay het avonturenpark "terraltitude" (deathride, benjijumping, paintball,...) In Givet, op een 30-tal km vindt u een subtropisch zwembad (Rivea) en in Mariembourg is er een karting. Ook zijn er diverse musea in de buurt en vele mooie dorpjes die geklasseerd zijn bij de mooiste dorpen van Wallonië !

    Étant donné la situation actuelle liée au CORONAVIRUS, le logement est soigneusement désinfecté dans son entièreté après chaque visite. Un spray désinfectant est également mis à votre disposition pour que vous puissiez également désinfecter la maison après votre passage. Merci de penser aux suivants et de désinfecter chaques poignées de porte et autres surfaces avant de quitter le logement. Merci de ne pas emporter le spray avec vous. Merci de votre compréhension. Située sur les hauteurs, la maison offre une vue panoramique splendide sur la campagne. Le logement se trouve dans le haut d'une petite rue donnant sur des champs, vous pourrez donc profiter des terrasses et du sauna en toute tranquillité sans être dérangé par le voisinage ou les passages de voiture. Si vous êtes sportif ou que vous souhaitez simplement vous balader, vous pourrez profiter des nombreuses activités que proposent les lacs de l'eau d'heure situés à 5 minutes en voiture.
    Petit village très calme et super accueillant, vous y trouverez tout ce qu'il vous faut : plusieurs boulangeries, supermarchés, petits restaurants, le tout situé près de la maison. Le gros point fort de cette région étant les lacs de l'heure d'heure, vous y trouverez un tas d'activités à faire : randonnées, balades VTT autour du lac, piscine intérieure (Aquacentre) pour petits et grands, jetski et bien plus encore.
