Places to stay in Vermont
The cabin is a great place to escape from it all! The custom made cedar hot tub is hot and ready all winter. Cold, snowy nights make for excellent tub time!! Inside the cabin is warm and has the comfort of home. Want to ski? Two ski resorts are 30 minutes from us.
Nestled in the hilled forest behind our home, the Vermont Tree Cabin (16' by 12', 190 sq ft) is a great, quiet place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While lounging on the deck or hot tub, you will be able to enjoy the calm and serenity of the outdoors, but still have the comfort of home in our authentic cabin lodging. Built in 2004, the cabin was temporally used as a home for our family while we built our house. The cabin has been completely renovated with custom tile shower, rustic hickory floors, knotty pine walls/ceiling, a kitchen area including a sink, Induction Hot Plate, small refrigerator, microwave, waffle maker, coffee maker, HD TV, DVD player with small selection of movies, good cell service (ATT & Verizon), 500 gallon custom cedar hot tub, Wireless internet, gas grill, rock fire-pit, picnic table and a 250 sq. ft. deck that is built into and around oak trees. One of our greatest amenities of the cabin is the custom built, white cedar hot tub. Maintained at 100- 104F degrees, the hot tub is ready for your use all year round, 24 hours a day; all you need to do is slide the cover off, relax and enjoy. While relaxing in the tub, be sure to enjoy watching the flames of a fire from the fire pit right off the deck. Our other amenities and services are as follows: Bedding – One full size memory foam bed and one single cot that can be included upon request. Food – Coffee, tea, waffle mix (make your own), Vermont maple syrup. Parking – private driveway and parking area for cabin guests. The cabin is completely insulated and heated, so we invite you to enjoy it any time of the year. Maid service - We do not provide turn down service or housekeeping in the cabin during your visit, but will make adjustments upon request. As we are located in the North East Kingdom of Vermont, the area offers many activities and events for your enjoyment. Our area is well known for some of our Ski Mountains and Resorts including Burke Mountain and Jay Peak. There are many other outdoor activities including boating and paddling, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, etc. But don’t forget to check out some of Vermont’s well-known covered bridges, sugar houses, breweries, and farms as well. P.S. It’s great exercise walking from the parking area to the cabin. It’s only 150 feet away but a beautiful uphill stroll on a mix of well-lit paths and stairs.
Our property is private yet only minutes away from downtown. Saint Johnsbury is a typical small town that has a few shops, restaurants and stores. Most of our guests enjoy outdoor activities when they visit. Hiking and biking trails, ski mountains and lakes are all within 30 minutes of us.
  • Perfect weekend getaway!! Very relaxing.

  • Such a peaceful retreat in Andrew & Marilou's treecabin - clean, quiet, comfortable, and secluded - with the hot tub and the waffles, it was exactly what we needed :) Definitely recommend

  • Andrew and Marilou’s Tree Cabin was a great getaway where we were able to relax and unwind for a few days! Great touches like the hot tub and the delicious waffles made our stay exceptional. We really appreciated the care put into the cabin itself and the hospitality. It was great to see some snow this winter, we’d love to come back to experience Vermont in another season!

    Bryan2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the most relaxing getaways I've been on. We even took our 3month old and it was so peaceful.

    Timothy2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was the most perfect, unique, serene and adorable little treehouse cabin/location and we could not have had a better time! Ideal little hideout for a short, romantic getaway!! Great experience and extremely clean which we REALLY appreciate!! The waffles were a one of a kind sort of amenity, we enjoyed them SOO much! The Apple jack ones were our favorite! Marilou and Andrew are extremely quick with communication and so very kind and welcoming! They also left TONS of information about the area and all of the funn activities to do! Our absolute FAVORITE and most exciting, beautiful thing we did this weekend was the sleigh ride we went on that was only 30 minutes away!! Thomas and his enormous, handsome Belgium horse, Pete, gave us the best experience we could have ever had on this random little getaway! With blankets, hot chocolate and all, they took us around to the most beautiful sights in VT and gave us a free bottle of their homemade maple syrup!! It is called Chandler Hill Farm on Bayley-Hazen Road in West Danville, VT! Wonderful family! We also got a couple beers and some yummy wood fired pizza at Shillings only about 5 minutes away from the cabin! We even got to stop and hike at the Quechee Gorge on the way home as well!! So much to do and so relaxing all at the same time! :) Do not hesitate to rent this place, you will not regret it!! Best thing we could have ever done, so special. <3

  • Absolutely serene space. Up, tucked in with the trees with such a calm peaceful atmosphere. Beautiful little cabin with everything you need. The hot tub was perfect while being surrounded by snow! Marliou met us upon arriving and was a great host. There are a few restaurants in the area. Would recommend for a real getaway away from everything!

    Jennifer2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved how quaint and homey this tree cabin was! We loved the waffles and sitting out in the cozy hot tub even when it was -20 degrees outside! It truly was magical! Thank you Andrew and Marilou for hosting such a wonderful place!

    Micaela2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Marilou are wonderful hosts. Very attentive to guests and answered questions about the cabin and hot tub day one. This was our first abnb experience and trip. We loved it. Sitting in the hot tub while it snowed was my favorite experience at the cabin.

The treehouse is at the very edge of Walker Pond. You are welcome to enjoy our 40 acres of forest/wetland, go canoeing in our canoe, soak in the custom made cedar hot tub, or just enjoy having a private holiday. The treehouse is located just 5 minutes from downtown Newport and is 22 minutes to Jay Peak Ski Resort.
Walker Pond treehouse is partially supported by two White Pines that are along the shoreline of Walker Pond. The treehouse has a main level, consisting of a kitchen area, sitting space, and a bathroom. Climb the winding tree staircase to the bedroom into the bedroom, which has a cathedral ceiling exposed with hand hewn cedar rafters. This room has a queen size bed (memory foam mattress), wall mounted LCD TV, reading bench, and a tiny closet. There is plenty of glass and windows, so you get the best views of the pond and field. Sunny/breezy afternoons bring the sparkle of the pond into the treehouse. It really is beautiful! Unique in design, this rustic treehouse will be fully functioning with all the essentials provided to make your stay comfortable. Also included, there will be a private deck overlooking the pond, a rustic hot tub, mini kitchen, grill, TV, etc. You will have access to the land and pond, so we invite you to go on a nature walk or go canoeing. You never know what kinds of animals you might see! So far we have seen moose, deer, bear, turkey, geese, ducks, heron, owls, otter, huge turtles, fish, and frogs.... just to name a few. Get your camera ready! While we border 20 acres of farmland, you may often see cows grazing. They are very peaceful and may greet you if they see that you are offering them grass.
Newport is a beautiful town that is growing and it is the gateway between New England and Canada. The city lies on the southern shore of Lake Memphremagog. On the western side of the 30-mile lake rises Owl’s Head. Its 3,360 foot summit offers impressive views. There is plenty to do and see while visiting. From bicycling, fishing, hunting, paddling, sailing, boating, horseback riding to cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Newport, Vermont is a mecca of outdoor recreation year round. Newport also has fine great restaurants on the water and artisan local foods for all you foodies out there. Jay Peak Mountain and Resort is only 17 miles away. You can visit any time of the year. Of course, they have skiing and riding, but all year round they have an indoor water park, ice arena, spa, restaurants, and shopping.
  • Such a great getaway. It was a birthday trip for my husband and he really enjoyed hot tub, which was amazing.

    Yaerin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was such an amazing get a away. We were blown away by the Treehouse. Everything was clean and neat. The scenery was amazing, being surrounded by nature and watching the snow fall while drinking your morning coffee was sublime. All the personal touches really made it so cozy and unique, all they're hard work and craftmanship were noticeable. From the hot tub to the waffles, everything was great. Andrew was very helpful and answered all our questions about the treehouse and whats around town with no problem. If you're looking for the perfect nature get away, you've found it! The trip is worth it.

    Stephanie2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute place to get away for the weekend! Andrew & Marilou were very responsive and kind upon check in. We looking forward to coming back in the summer!

    Taylor2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The most stunning air bnb we have ever stayed in! Worth every dollar.

    Justine2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time staying here and we love it. Such a gorgeous and unique place and so private and quiet. Totally worth the wait (as they book out-it’s a popular place 😊) 🌳🏠

    Danny2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew met us when we arrived late from Buffalo. He showed us around and told us a little bit about the place before he left. The tree house was absolutely beautiful. Pushed far off the road where you can’t hear any cars or trucks. The snow made the hot tub so enjoyable. Fireplace was a great touch. We played board games that were up in the bedroom and went to some of the local restaurants that Andrew recommended for dinner. I know this place is booked out a full year in advance but I’d do it all over again and plan to. BOOK THIS PLACE NOW

    Kyle2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A+ experience - the pictures don’t do it justice! Great weekend away from Boston. In you are on the fence, just book it!

    Madison2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • By some miracle we were able to reserve the treehouse for our anniversary on relatively short notice. The pictures and description do it absolutely no justice. The treehouse was phenomenally beautiful in every single way, down to every thoughtful, handcrafted detail that Andrew created with his own two hands. Andrew welcomed us upon our arrival, and made sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The living space was comfortable and cozy with its lovely views, cozy gas fireplace, and many lovely details of the treehouse to admire from the comfort of the couch. The bed in the beautiful, airy loft space was beyond comfortable, and it was tons of fun to curl up at night and watch our favorite Netflix show on the flatscreen tv. The kitchen was clean and pretty, with the ingredients for homemade waffles being a very welcome and special touch. Even the details of the bathroom added to the amazing experience, such as the sink base made from a log and the rain head shower. Though I could go on and on, I must save the best for last and say that I’ve never had an experience like enjoying a hot tub in a treehouse! The hot tub itself is a work of art and was so incredibly comfortable, the perfect temperature, and all the more fun for feeling like you’re up in the trees. Though the walk to and from the hot tub was rather exciting in the below 0 temps (hahaha), we spent a very considerable amount of time out there and were perfectly warm and cozy admiring the snow and the woods while we soaked. Thank you Andrew and Marilou for a memorable visit, and we can’t wait to come back!!

A special little retreat. 12 minutes to Smugglers Notch. 25 min to Stowe. Off grid. 222 square foot Cozy little log cabin, wood stove, composting toilet, on demand (small in size )hot water shower, solar electricity. Full kitchen with refrigerator. The cabin is private with parking . Everything about this special place is small but it's very homey and has everything you need . Verizon cellular works perfect with full 4g LTE.
Log cabin tiny house. Homey , Airbnb has made it so that guests can cancel at anytime. I would prefer a little notice if possible but I understand as well. I do hope that you come. The cabin is a good place for people to get away. My plan to keep the cabin a safe place for people and to ease peoples concerns is that I will be bleach wiping surfaces . I would prefer if Guests brought their own bedding and towels at this time. The beds are full and a single. Also I will have a min 48 hours between reservations. I hope this helps.
Awesome little ski town 12 minute drive to Amazing skiing at Smugglers Notch ski area. The cabin is just 4 miles to great restaurants, grocery story, galleries, canoe/kayak rentals, 30 mile bike trail, horseback trail rides, distilleries, and Wineries , day spa covered bridges and more. In the summer time is 23 minutes to Stowe over the historic mountain pass called Smugglers Notch. 50 minutes to Burlington. 32 minute to jay peak
  • This place was just what we were looking for. It was great to experience the off-grid type living in a tiny cabin! Pk was a great host and he was there to give us instructions about the cabin when we arrived. We had no problems and slept like logs with the running stream just behind us. Very private I would recommend to anyone looking for a similar experience!

  • We had a great stay at the cabin. Came up for a weekend in the winter which was beautiful. It has a good location for accessing Mount Mansfield, Smuggler's Notch, and town is close for meals out. Pk was helpful at check-in with the details of the cabin and local spots to check out. It's a simple, beautiful cabin!

    Meghan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

*Stowe Charm at it’s Finest* This renovated studio features unique touches of reclaimed barn wood, cherry cabinets, maple floors, swiveling TV, barn door, plush bed, and private entrance with large porch. Located in the Historic Village, this property provides walking access to local eateries, shopping, and grocery. In addition, enjoy convenient access to mountain biking, skiing, hiking, & town events. Your Stowe Spot for years to come awaits!
We are a quick 7.5 miles form the mountain. As you turn out of our driveway, Mountain Road is on the left and you take that straight until you see the gondola! It usually takes people 10-15 min from here to get up to and park at Stowe Mountain depending on mountain traffic. We find it to be the best of both worlds, close to the mountain and only walking distance to town!
On Route 100, South Main St. in Stowe.
  • Luke’s place was awesome. It was the perfect spot for a ski weekend. I 100% recommend this spot to anyone looking to stay in Stowe!

    Patrick2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This studio is just as charming as the photos! A great space for two people, and the kitchen was more than adequate with pots/pans/plates etc. It is very close to the road and there is a bit of noise, but traffic really slows down at nighttime and we didn’t have any issues sleeping. I would recommend Luke’s place to anyone who’s hoping to enjoy all Stowe has to offer!

    Brittany2020-02-27T00:00:00Z

You will feel the stresses of life wash away as you sway in the trees and listen to the sounds of the beautiful stream just feet from the treehouse deck. You'll never want to leave! Enjoy a bit of solitude or some special alone time with a loved one. It's hard to beat Stone City Treehouse to make your time away special!
*** Information regarding current Covid-19 situation and our treehouse: Due to the Vermont Governor's call to close all in-person, non-essential business and stay at home, we will not be taking reservations until April 15th at this point. This is sad for me to make this decision, but we're all in this together and I need to do my part, too. Hopefully we'll be up and back at it soon! After your day of hiking, skiing, or touring local breweries and distilleries, come home to this beautiful, private tiny house in the trees! Or, just spend the day lazily relaxing by the fire and reading, while the sound of the stream soothes you. Walk through the woods, up the stairs, and enter into another dimension - one that you won't want to leave! Much thought was put into the design and local, natural, and recycled materials were a priority in its construction. Enjoy the curated interior design while you relax in the living room space and gaze out the large, recycled windows (from an old, local schoolhouse). Enjoy the deck that overlooks the year-round stream (that may be frozen over in the winter) and let the sound of the water wash through you. You may even see some critters if you're still enough! There is a sweet sitting area, hammock, and campfire space just below the treehouse right on the stream, with a dramatic view of the treehouse. You can cook simple meals on the propane campstove (with a griddle option) or use the small charcoal grill in the space under the treehouse. There is a mini-fridge with a separate freezer to keep your fresh produce from the farmers' market and your yummy local beer nice and cool. There's a very primitive (and limited) water system you can use for washing dishes. There is a basic composting toilet in the treehouse for your convenience, but you also have access to a full, modern bathroom at the house, with a brand new, beautiful shower. When it's time for bed, climb up the loft ladder to "the nest" and sink into the brand new, comfy bed. Open up the windows to hear the nighttime sounds of the forest. We prioritize our earth and take environmental considerations into every decision: we have solar; we compost and recycle; we use environmentally friendly cleaning products; we avoid disposable items as much as possible; and we used much local and recycled materials in the construction of the treehouse. The interior structure is 10'x16' with a loft and the deck is 16'x4'.
Hardwick village is three miles away, and it's a lovely, small village with everything you'd need. The treehouse is located in the woods, by a year-round stream. It is three miles from Hardwick Village, located on 20 acres of woods, primarily maple trees and has a lovely year-round stream that flows by the house. Nearby there is plenty to do! Restaurants include: - Village Restaurant - great food, lots of local stuff, try the Jasper Hill Cheese Eggs Benedict! - Positive Pie - great pizza and beer selection. My kids love the garlic knots! Say hi to Butch, the bartender - he's an old friend! - Buffalo Mountain Co-op Cafe - lots of great options for breakfast and lunch! Focusing on local foods, and the store downstairs has everything you need. Lots of great people to meet here, too :) - The Scale House - an amazing new restaurant in town, focusing on fresh seafood from Mass, but also lots of local goodness! - House of Pizza - great pizza at a great price! This is where I always get my takeout pizza, but they do have more than just pizza. - A great new coffee shop called Front Seat Coffee! There's also the local Chinese restaurant, Yummy Wok, and Connie's Kitchen, a local bakery. Other food and beverage- related options abound in the area! - Caledonia Spirits / Barr Hill - I'm a bit bias toward this crew - I've worked for them part-time for years. But, hands-down, the best gin in the world! They had been based in Hardwick but now have a new, amazing distillery in Montpelier. If you like gin, or if you don't like gin, check it out! There's also a lovely vodka made from honey, and a unique barrel-aged gin, called Tom Cat. They've also been working hard on a whiskey that I know will be a big hit! - Hill Farmstead Brewery - voted the best beer in the world for multiple years, this is a Mecca for beer-lovers! Only 20 minutes away, it is definitely worth the trip! - Pete's Greens Farmstand - open seasonally, this is the site of the farm of one of, if not the, biggest vegetable farm in Vermont! Found in Craftsbury, also worth the 20 or so minute drive. - Hardwick Farmers' Market - also a seasonal gem, it's located at Atkins Field at 100 Granite St. in Hardwick lots of great local goodies, from veggies and cheese to plants and crafts, and everything in between! Runs Fridays from 3-6pm, June through September. - Jasper Hill Cheese - they don't have a visitors area and you can't visit the site, but you drive by them on your way to Hill Farmstead and can see the beautiful, painted barn. Amazing, internationally acclaimed cheeses - you can find at Willey's Store in Greensboro or the Buffalo Mountain Co-op in Hardwick. - Willey's Store - Located in Greensboro, you will find literally anything you need here! They have local food and beverages, regular groceries, hardware, housewares, clothing and shoes. This is a sight in itself! - Maple Syrup - Cabot Cheese - Vermont Food Venture Center Outdoor Activities (See Guidebook for more) - Local hiking - Nichols Ledge, Barr Hill, Hardwick Trails... - Local swimming - Nichols Pond, Caspian Lake - Canoeing and Kayaking - Nichols Pond, Caspian Lake, Hardwick Lake - Downhill Skiing - Stowe, Smuggler's Notch, Jay Peak, Burke Mountain are the closest, all about an hour away. - Cross Country Skiing - Highland Lodge, Craftsbury Outdoor Center - Mountain Biking - Kingdom Trails in Burke are world-renowned. You can also rent bikes, including fat tire bikes for snow, at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. Entertainment - Highland Center for the Arts - Bread and Puppet - Vermont Vaudeville - Craftsbury Chamber Players - Museum of Everyday Life
  • Awesome place!

  • An amazing experience! Worth every penny! Heather is an amazing host and the spot was so much better than we could have ever imagined! She’s thought of everything to make the treehouse comfy and cozy!

    Renee2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This little treehouse is so charming and cozy. It’s so nice and warm, and everything you could need is right in the treehouse. Also the porch and lights add such a nice touch. It was so very clean and no bugs even though it’s in the woods. The little creek is also so nice to hear when you wake up in the morning

    Kylie2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Heather was a great host! Her communication was perfect! All her instructions were very detailed and easy to follow. The tree house is such a cool space! She had the lights on and fireplace going when we arrived so it was cozy and warm when we arrived. We didn’t get to enjoy the porch too Much as it was rainy but we could hear the brook flowing from inside. We’d love to come back when it’s warmer and everything is green! We had an awesome little getaway.

    Sarah2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Magical spot in the woods. Wish we could have stayed longer.

    Annika2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Such an incredible weekend away! Words can’t describe how perfect the treehouse was. Thank you x1000!

    Amanda2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Heathers treehouse is a home away from home, the perfect getaway without being too far from what you need. It was everything we had expected and more! Games, books, cooking supplies, and local recommendations were all provided. We will absolutely be back!!

  • A beautiful, quiet and serene place to spend an unplugged weekend and just enjoy each other and nature. The treehouse has all of the comforts you need and none of the distractions that you don’t. There are so many thoughtful touches in and around the treehouse that make you feel comfortable and welcome.

This light and bright apartment is located on the second floor of a large home. You will be just two blocks from Church street, a number of downtown venues, and a 10 minute walk to the lake. This an ideal space to stay if you want to explore everything the city of Burlington has to offer without needing to drive anywhere! -Please note that the apartment is up a flight of slightly steep outdoor stairs.
This is a one bedroom apartment with all of the amenities you would expect from your own living space. The apartment has an open floor plan with a sitting area for reading and hanging out, and a dining table for meals or to work at. The sofa folds out into a bed (larger than a twin but smaller than a full: perfect for 1 extra person, two smaller people, or kids). The kitchen comes equipped with a fridge, a gas stove, and there are plenty of utensils and cookware to prepare food in the apartment if you choose to stay in. Coffee and tea will alway be provided for you. The bedroom is light and cozy with a glass door that leads out to a small seasonal balcony. The mattress is a pillow top queen mattress that will be set up with cotton sheets and a plush comforter. The television is a 40inch flat screen smart T.V. and is located in the bedroom so that you can lounge and watch your shows in bed (like a hotel room!). The bathroom has a stall shower and hardwood floors.
  • This was a nice, low frills place to stay within walking distance of Church Street. Just what we were looking for!

  • This location was a great place for 2 people to stay if you are visiting Burlington for the first time. The best part about it has to be the proximity to the most popular spots in town.

    Tyler2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The location was amazing and the apartment was so cute! We also really appreciated all the cute touches such as the coffee and the suggestions on the wall. We’d love to come back and stay again! Next time in the summer :) thank you for a great stay!

From the moment you cross the cedar footbridge over Alder Brook, you'll know you're somewhere special. Featured in Boston Magazine and CabinPorn, Alder Brook Cottage is an inspired, rustic dream cabin located in the woods of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. Surrounded by a crystal clear stream and 1400 acres of rugged forest, it is the perfect getaway for glampers looking to experience the tiny house life. Minutes away from Caspian Lake, Hill Farmstead Brewery, and Craftsbury Outdoor Center.
**Read this: this is a rustic cottage—no electricity or running water, and you have to be okay with climbing a loft ladder AND using an outhouse. Buy firewood locally.** When I was young, I had a dream in which I lived in a tiny house in the woods. I still remember every detail of it. As I went through my teens and twenties, the dream never faded…and so, in 2015, my girlfriend and I decided to give it a try. We bought land in the woods of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, and guided by our hearts and many books, we built a tiny house. After you park off the (paved) road, you’ll cross a wooden footbridge over a stream and climb a rocky staircase into the forest. After a couple hundred feet, the house appears through the trees. Inside you’ll find a sunny, cozy space that is perfect for relaxing in the beauty of the woods. There is a kitchenette with a stove and pots and pans, a bathroom with a shower basin, a fold-out daybed, a wood stove, a pull-down table, bookshelves lined with some of my favorite books, and a loft with the most comfortable queen mattress in Vermont. Summer, fall, winter, spring — the cabin is like something out of a fairytale. **You’ll need to bring your own water (2 gallons per person per day is usually enough, and you can refill at a nearby spring on Route 14) **You'll need to buy your own bundles of firewood at nearby Aubuchon Hardware. Don't bring firewood from other places — it transports invasive pests that are currently devouring some of our beloved trees here in the Kingdom! **It is in the woods, but you can still hear cars on the road about 200 feet away. Behind the house is 1400 acres of untouched forest, cliffs, and streams. You’re 5 minutes from the town of Hardwick, with all modern conveniences available. You are nearby tons of pristine lakes and rivers, the best brewery in the world (no joke — Hill Farmstead Brewery has won best in the world many times), the best cheesemaker in the world (Jasper Hill Farm....also no joke), nordic skiing at Craftsbury Outdoor Center, mountain biking at Kingdom Trails, and ski resorts such as Stowe, Burke Mountain, Jay Peak, and many more. Check in: 3pm or later Check out: 10am When you leave: strip sheets, take your trash, clean your dishes, leave no food
Hardwick is a quintessential Vermont village, with a little library, a bookshop, restaurants, and various other businesses along a short main street. There is cross-country skiing and mountain biking in town. You'll love restaurants like The Village Restaurant, Connie's Kitchen, and Positive Pie. A really cool old suspension footbridge crosses the river downtown.
  • This little cabin in the woods is a slice of heaven! My wife and I came here for a birthday weekend retreat and fell in love with Kyle & Jenny’s tiny home. It is very thoughtfully laid out and fits into the landscape seamlessly. The little wood stove is very efficient and kept the cabin super toasty. Sipping on some Hill Farmstead by a crackling fire and no hum of electronics - pure zen full peace! Highly recommend this cabin for a getaway.

    Nathan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Love every minute in this beautiful cabin, as well as exploring the surrounding woods. Great place to disconnect and enjoy the little things nature has to offer!

    Sarah2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cabin in a beautiful forest! Great space and a perfect weekend escape. We look forward to going back!

    Lucy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I'll keep coming back to this place because it's so idyllic, it's the perfect way to unwind and relax, it's clean, the scenery is beautiful, and Hardwick is a lovely town.

    Roksi2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a getaway where you can truly get away and re-connect, this gem in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom is the place! My girlfriend and I have been there twice now, both in the heart of Winter and it is a snow frosted Wonderland without doubt! And I’m sure every other Season is equally as charming in its own way. Kyle and Jenny’s labor of love, love of nature and simple living is apparent in every aspect of this lovely little cabin.

    Brandon2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • It was exactly as the post described. They checked in with us the night we got there. The place definitely gets nice and toasty with the stove! Thank you for a great stay.

    Frankie2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is perfect for what we desired. Small, cozy, cute, isolated in nature and amazingly well located since I often travel to The Alchemist and Hill Farmstead breweries. There's firewood and ice within 10 minutes drive. The wood stove is small but effective, you just need to baby it a bit as it typically only fits one log at a time once it's going. All in all I would come back to this cabin again and would recommend for anyone looking to be more isolated or closer to Hill Farmstead Brewery.

    Christopher2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • We love our stay in this gem hidden in the woods. It’s everything that you think it might be!

  • Sarah's Airbnb was cosy and comfortable. It had all the amenities and suggestions too! Perfect for a weekend getaway! Very quick responses from the host.

  • Awesome little get away, close to mount snow, very cozy, and extremely affordable!

    Ethan2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve never stayed in a tiny home before and this was my first one. And it’s an awesome first one at that. It’s quite and quaint. I went up on a snowboard trip and have been eyeing on this tiny home on Airbnb for about a year and decided to try it. It’s pretty roomy. I felt comfortable in it. They let me bring my dog - super huge win. And it was pretty simple and minimalistic. It’s quiet - when I was there no one was around and it was just super nice. The kitchen was small but usable for most things. I didn’t really cook here so I’m unsure. The place gets warm! And the water is amazing. I was worried when it said well water but uh that water quality is amazing. Both for drinking and cleaning. Honestly? I can’t rave enough about it. It’s close to Stratton and mount snow and Bromley if you are doing the ski trip thing. And, for summer, there’s a lot of outdoors stuff to do up here. I’d stay again in a heartbeat and prob will in the summer.

    Andrea2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's place is exactly as described, very quite setting. If you are looking to be near Stratton mountain and away from crowd this place is perfect. We enjoy cooking home so for us was not a problem being far from Manchester and all the restaurants but keep in mind if this is important for you as you are in the woods! Sarah is very fast in responding and always available for any need. We recommend 100%

  • We loved our stay! It was so peaceful and a perfect getaway.

    Jake2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Truly beautiful, cozy loft apartment. Breathtaking windows looking out to the mountains. Christine and John have a lovely home and were very accommodating. Their directions from the town center are clear - there are dirt roads. In general, we do not recommend driving from 89 up through the Green Mountain National Forest, at night, in the winter, like we did (live and learn and we made it out completely fine!). AWD/4WD vehicle is recommended. The space is incredible! Very well designed, couches to curl up on, and a great selection of tea. The bathroom is absolutely beautiful and the heated floors were a nice touch. We were very comfortable during our quick respite in the mountains. I could not get enough of that view and my boyfriend loved the sunshine in the morning. Loved talking with John and saying hello to their sweet dog Nellie. We want to stay here again in the summer to explore all that the Green Mountains have to offer!! Highly recommend Bobcat Café and the Recycled Reading of Vermont shop (books, art supplies, musical instruments, and more!). Middlebury is also fun to walk through - we enjoyed the Vermont’s Own Products shop there! Overall a real gem. We couldn’t believe our luck in finding this rental and we heartily recommend it.

  • Gorgeous barn with high end amenities. Be warned if you are booking in the winter, it's about a 40-50 minute drive to Sugarbush Resort, as the Lincoln Gap Road is closed in the winters. Very secluded and private.

    Jordan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Christine is a straightforward host with only a few simple rules. The space is tucked away in a beautiful location. Plenty of room to hang out and get your rest. We had a great stay and will certainly look to book with her again.

    Kara2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing gem tucked away in rural VT. I stayed at the end of a warm spell and the beginning of an arctic blast. 10+/- Inches of snow and wet ground that froze underneath. Come with AWD if you are visiting in winter. Christine pointed out the best hikes and snowshoeing opportunities, the latter of which I commenced from out the front door and on snowshoes provided by Christine. Highly and unreservedly recommend it. Hope to return in summer and again in winter!

    Marcus2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend! Great location and comfortable place.

    Shaqed2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Christine was incredibly welcoming and the space was simply amazing. The view from the spacious and beautiful room was absolutely breathtaking. It was like waking up in an enchanted forest each morning with views of snow falling over Mt Abraham. With the lovely town of Bristol only 15 minutes away (we loved the Bristol Cliffs Cafe) where you can find everything you need to enjoy a romantic dinner back at the Barn. We would both love to return for another visit. Thank you Christine!!

  • Exactly as advertised! Kyle is a wonderful host. All of the recommendations were so helpful, and the place is gorgeous. I stayed at a MUCH more expensive Airbnb the night before staying at Kyle’s place and it did not have even half of the amenities that Kyles home did. The coffee station and cabinet full of spices were so helpful for someone trying to pack light! The TV and wifi were easy to use and I had no issue finding the place!

    Michele2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great condo and responsive host. It was my first time visiting Vermont and Kyle was able to provide a helpful list of recommendations. Convenient location if you are looking to visit Dartmouth and King Flour Bakery. We would definitely stay here again.

The Hyggelig Hytte is a one of a kind Nordic inspired cabin and sauna located in the heart of the Green Mountains. 30 mins north of Montpelier deep in the woods. Glamping and leaf peeping fun! Rustic romanic, hobo hideaway, bohemian hermitage, nordic nook.
Inspired by my trip to the Faroe Islands in 2013 and my love of the Viking Age, this is your perfect one of a kind rustic glamping experience. This small 144 sq foot Nordic inspired cabin is located ~50 yards behind my house on 11 acres of mixed hardwood and evergreens. You will have your own driveway, garden, fridge and cookstove. I provide coffee and tea as well as light breakfast foods: yogurt, granola, oatmeal and fresh eggs when I have them. There are dishes, pots and pans in the cabin. There is a small electric heater for the winter months which gets it plenty cozy. Your driveway is unmarked and steep, it is located on the same side of the street as my home (1743) to the north (please follow the signs and do not use my neighbors driveways). If you cannot make it up, just park in mine and walk back. You will need snow tires in the winter! Sleeps 2 adults on a queen size futon and there is a loft for a toddler or young child. Here you can enjoy hiking around the woods, picking blackberries and relaxing in Vermont's pristine beauty. Situated 30 min north of Montpelier. Peaceful, rustic simplicity. Enjoy a fire in your own fire pit and take in the stars! No light pollution. Wild turkeys, bats, hawks, deer, and even black bears are seen in these woods. Great for couples, writers or backpackers. *****Wifi is dubious and cell service is a hit or miss. If you have Verizon, you will have much better luck than At&T or Tmobile.**** No indoor plumbing, but a 5 gallon water jug for washing hands/dishes/face etc. There is an outhouse behind the cabin. Showers, laundry and can happen in the main house. Fire pit and barbecue available for use. I provide wood, but you should bring your own kindling. Gorgeous woods to hike or snowshoe through. I have one pair for you to borrow. I enjoy meeting new people, but do not need to socialize with you. I understand that people come to get away and I want to honor your privacy. I will let you know my availability if you need help or recommendations for places to visit etc. Depending on the season, you may see me in the backyard. East Calais is a small town with one gas station/general store a 7 min drive from the cabin, but otherwise, you are out in the woods on dirt roads. We are a 30 min drive from Montpelier, and a 1 hour drive from Stowe and Jay Peak, Sugarbush ski resorts. The village of Plainfield is a 15 minute drive away and has restaurants, bars and some shops etc. There is no public transport in this part of Vermont. You will need snow tires in the winter and AWD preferably as the cabin is located on dirt roads (thought they are well maintained), but in the summer and fall this is not necessary.
East Calais has one general store a 7 minute drive from the cabin. Otherwise, the village of Plainfield is a 20 minute drive away and has restaurants, bars and some shops etc. Montpelier is a 30 minute drive south and Hardwick is a 20 minute drive north. All these towns have night life.
  • Selene's place was great, just the perfect type of quiet get-a-way we were looking for. The cabin is close to the house but far enough away to have privacy. Looks small but feels bigger once inside. Selene was very accommodating to anything we needed. I would definitely come back in the summer or fall.

    Travis2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Surprised my gf with a weekend getaway to this super cozy cabin and we both loved it. We stayed plenty warm and enjoyed the sauna, though if you go in the winter be prepared to walk in heavy snow.

    Alex2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place! Incredibly cozy, with great opportunities for enjoying the outdoors as well as the sauna and firepit.

    Catherine2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

    Justin2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy lodge, it was the perfect getaway from technology that we needed! Selené was a great host.

  • This was a surprise birthday trip for my S.O. and we were both blown away at the stay here. The cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a fun-filled adventure in the surrounding mountains and towns. It is 20-30 mins away from Montpelier, which is a great city with many options for food, drinks, and shopping. We loved every second of this trip and the sauna was a welcome addition, especially right after a long cold winter hike.

  • Just as expected. Clean, cozy and off the grid. We didn’t even need the extra heater we brought just in case. That heater HEATS up the whole space quick! Absolutely fell in love with Vermont in a new way thanks to this spot. Wouldn’t have done it any other way.

  • This was the most relaxing and cozy Airbnb experience that we've had this far. Treat yourself and spend some time here, you'll find that you feel refreshed and centered by the time you're heading home!!

The sky dome floods the yurt with natural light. Bird songs drift in through the screened windows. Wooded trails outside your door. Close to town yet private. Fire pit for sitting out under the stars. double sized bed in loft with memory foam topper makes it very comfy. This is a rustic yet elegant stay. Cooled by fans and heated by wood pellet stove. It is not a good fit for very young children due to the stairs, hot wood stove and rough lumber flooring.
Songbird Sangha is a unique place which has been thoughtfully placed amongst the trees. It's unique design gives you a spaceous and airy feel of being outdoors. The sounds of the birds , peepers and owl's, drift in through the screens. Moonlight streams in through the dome or you can look at the stars while laying in bed. It is heavenly for lover's of the outdoors.
We cannot see other houses from our property. It is quiet, has lovely views and privacy. The village has a book store, several bakery's, art gallery, jewelry store, brewery/bistro, pizza, concerts on the green, farmer's market, hiking and more.
  • The place is incredibly beautiful, very clean, and has everything you need. And Ellen is a wonderful host!

  • Great stay in this fabulous yurt! Super cozy and clean.

    Annie2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This yurt is the coolest place I ever stayed. It is gorgeous and has everything you need. It has a full amazing kitchen that is better than most apartments have! The sky roof is the best part. Great romantic getaway.

    Zoë2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was amazing and just what we had been looking for to get away! It was well stocked and we loved all the little touches. While we were there we enjoyed a thunderstorm from under the dome and it was awesome! Stay here, you won’t regret it!

    Jennifer2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely everything about our stay at Ellen and Jay’s yurt was wonderful. We were expecting it to be cute and fun but it far exceeded all our expectations. It’s incredibly comfortable and cosy, charming and romantic. We had our coffee outside on sunny mornings and enjoyed the warmth of the stove and sound of the rain on the yurt on the couple of rainy evenings we had while enjoying home cooked dinners. Have I mentioned falling asleep under the stars and waking up to the birds, the horses, the views, the peace? This is a truly magical place.

    Geraldine2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen and Jay were perfect hosts and their yurt provided a comfortable and cozy space for our stay. We would not hesitate to return. Lovely private setting.

    Lester2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely peaceful no fuss place to stay. The bed was comfortable and downstairs was perfect, there is no microwave so bring food that you can only cook on the stove or toaster oven. Alexa was a good addition to the yurt. We loved having a fire in the fire pit at night then moved into the yurt at night then enjoyed the pellet stove.

    Joanna2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in the yurt was so serene. What a great space Ellen has created, with all the amenities needed to be cozy and comfortable! The animals were a sweet bonus. Ellen and Jay are great people. We would love to return and spend more time checking out Ellen's suggestions. We got some great food at Snaps in Bristol and also stopped at the local market to get ingredients to cook dinner in the yurt too. (Be patient using the pellet stove, it takes a few minutes to get ignited.)

  • Kyle’s Place was absolutely perfect for my family and I. It’s located in a very beautiful spot in Vermont, that’s quiet and peaceful but also not too far from stores/restaurants. It was very warm and clean and we loved being in the woods while having all of the amenities that we are used to being from a city. Kyle was extremely helpful, responsible, and accommodating. We would stay again in the future.

    Christina2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle and his family are outside hosts. Always avalaible to answer our questions or stop by within minutes if anything is missing. The chalet was perfect for us, very peaceful and resourceful. The location is easy to get to and perfect for a nice country retreat. I highly recommend Kyle's welcoming chalet!

    Lucie2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at this place for two nights and loved it! The house was beautiful and cozy with plenty of space. We cooked dinner one night and breakfast one morning which was wonderful to be able to do, and everything we needed was there. Kyle also includes recommendations for nearby restaurants and grocery stores which was very helpful for us considering the remote location. We went skiing at Killington one of the days for the whole day which was about an hour and a half away. It was a bit of a drive which we were aware of when booking, but really wanted this space :) We definitely would like to return again someday, maybe in the summer or fall!

    Natalie2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, exactly as advertised and Kyle was very helpful and responsive.

  • What a beautiful and special place. It was absolutely perfect for a solo trip to get some writing done/get away from the rat race- I hope I get the opportunity to come back with friends and family! Everything is just as advertised, and Kyle’s recommendations for things to do in the area were spot on. The location is great in that you are surrounded by trees and pretty secluded but only a 25 minute drive to anything you could need. Thanks again Kyle for sharing this place!!

I live in this beautiful flat with a cat named Josephine in case either of those facts is a deal breaker. Cosy Yellow is the smaller of the 2 bedrooms available in this Victorian home. It is bright & free of anyone else's clutter. The location is walking distance from downtown and the waterfront. Laundry & Apple TV among other amenities. The breakfast are of the highest quality organic, fair trade and locally sourced food. I can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and grain free diets.
The rooms I offer are on the first floor of a beautiful Victorian House. The landlady lives on the second floor when she is not in Florida.
We are a 5 minute walk from Battery Park where the sunsets are world class. Also just as close is the Burlington Waterfront park, the boathouse, skatepark, fishing pier, sailing club and 8 mile bike path. 10 minutes in the other direction is ChurchStreet MarketPlace which is a 4 block long pedestrian shopping area. Nearby is a wetland walk at the Ethan Allen Homestead, a little further the Ethan Allen Park with trails and a tower for viewing the whole area. There are three parks in close proximity; NorthBeach, Oakledge & RedRocks. I recommend the CityMarket for grocery needs & they have a hot and cold food bar.
  • Absolutely amazing stay. We didn’t expect much from an Airbnb, but Deborah was very thoughtful and one with us. She helped us out with directions and suggestions for our itinerary. She was very kind and sociable. We loved our first trip to Burlington and hope to come back soon.

  • Wonderful stay! Deborah is so sweet and accommodating. Highly recommend!

    Ana2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our short stay at Deborah's, especially the comfort of the room, the great breakfast and Josephine the cat! The house is at walking distance from Burlington center, which makes it great if you want to have a stroll and enjoy the shops and restaurants a few blocks away.

There were ample outlets in the room, she provided local tips, her home is very close to the waterfront & downtown Burlington. She also made such a delicious breakfast, definitely would recommend!

  • We had a great stay in the Barn. Peaceful setting, great clean space, with some solid VT charm! Easy access to both Burlington and Stowe.

    Dan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A great stay with fantastic hosts. The barn is a fantastic place to stay and change things compared to our usual hotel stays. Everything was clean and the amenities were fantastic. Since we are not of the area we asked to know if there was a particular place they could recommend to eat and Barry recommended us to the Public house. Great restaurant and great recommendation from our host. The whole experience is to be repeated for sure.

    Jonathan2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This barn is everything it’s advertised to be! My friends and I drove up from Massachusetts for a concert and only stayed in the barn for one night but we wished we could’ve stayed longer!

    Rachel2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a beautiful peaceful place to stay

    Jennifer2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The entire place smelled amazing, like cedar we think, and everything was incredibly clean! The linens were super soft, the bed and sofa were comfortable enough, and we had everything we needed! The only thing that would have been helpful for us was a slightly larger mini fridge, but all of the decor and furniture worked together so well, we couldn’t even be disappointed! A perfect place to hide away for a while!

    Alanna2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, super fun and clean. Peaceful and very close to Burlington! It was perfect!

    Jessica2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • My son and I had a great get away at The Barn. It was just what we needed to ski for a few days. It was easy to find, super clean and so cozy. We both felt like we found a peaceful retreat to rest in for a few days (while skiing all day). I would stay there again any time!

    Heather2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Barry and Jenny's barn loft was so cozy and had beautiful views. The space was extremely clean and had everything you could need. It's the perfect place to relax and have a staycation! Or a real vacation it's the perfect spot for snow bums, summer lovers or people who just want to experience Vermont!
This space was built by us and the help of each of our families! It is on 30 acres that we also live on. Here on the property we have bees, chickens, a small pond & brook plus more wildlife than you can imagine. It is so joyful to sit and listen to the song birds or watch the deer graze. It is a place of joy and laughter and we would love to bring others to enjoy what we get to enjoy everyday.
We love how close we are to down town but still out in the woods. We love being on a dirt road but still only one mile from pavement!
  • Let me start of by saying we first met Leah and Dustin as they were sledding down a massive hill right off the back of bnb cabin, they were out collecting fresh honey, yes real honey and they even let us try it in the raw talk about an awesome check in process. We couldn’t of been more satisfied with this cabin it has everything you need/want from cookware to in house to laundry and even a full kitchen and a huge TV in the loft! The owners were so attentive and responded quickly regardless how ridiculous your request might be (AAA batteries) @9pm lol, but yes this place is an absolute must and worth driving to Vermont to just to stay here! The worst part was the drive up to the cabin which wasn’t even that bad hence why my reason for the 4/5 stars on location Questionnaire part if you don’t have 4 wheel drive, or you aren’t familiar with VT backcountry then you don’t belong driving up to this place it’s on an unpaved road that is hard to climb even for a RAV4! But once your there your home! Thank you guys for a great stay we will most definitely be staying here again! All the best Shane Riley

    Shane2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay with beautiful views out of the windows and from the outside. It really is a cozy cabin! It simultaneously felt expansive due to the high ceiling in the kitchen and the ample lighting. A great place for a getaway!

    Philip2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a gorgeous cabin, wish we could have stayed longer.

    Francoise2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place. Leah offered to arrive on time. They left us coffee for the morning. Very comfortable bed. The premises are clean and we had inside the cabin the necessary to cook, wash the laundry, internet ... They also left us tourist information. We were there to hike and they left us a Vermont hiking guide. We will definitely be going back for another hike in the Green Mountains.

    Sami2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a great little cabin in a great little town! All the comforts of home and privacy. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay around Montpellier. Close to town but far enough away to feel like you’re deep in the woods.

    Joanne2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Photos don’t even begin to give justice for how beautiful Leah’s cabin is. Not too far from the town, beautifully decorated & so cozy. My boyfriend & I would love to stay there again. Thank you Leah!

    BriAnna2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cabin, cozy and warm in the winter. It had everything we needed.

    Anne2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Leah's space is the quintessential Vermont stay. Her cabin is aptly named "cozy" because it is exactly that. Warm and inviting, the downstairs space accommodates cooking needs perfectly, while upstairs is the perfect place to cozy up on the comfortable couch and watch a movie or read a good book. The upstairs space also has some free floor space if you have an interest in bringing your yoga mat to practice, which is just what I did. I highly recommend staying here if you are going to be in the Montpelier area!

Enjoy your visit to Burlington in this spacious and sunny 1 bedroom apartment. This is the perfect spot for those looking to go out and experience the shopping and nightlife of the downtown area. You'll be 1 block away from Church street's shopping and dining, and a 1/2 block away from some of the best bars and live music in town (Radio Bean, Lamp Shop, OP, 3 Kneads). The waterfront is also just a short 10 minute walk through town.
The apartment is designed and stocked to provide you with everything you would expect in a hotel + more. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and dining and is always stocked with coffee and tea. Enjoy the record player, a book, or some quiet time on the sofa, this space was decorated lovingly with unique and vintage treasures that all have a history and a story behind them. The bedroom has a queen size bed and a 45" flat screen T.V.. There is hi-speed internet, basic TV channels, and Chromecast, so watching your favorite shows on the TV will be a breeze if you choose to bring your laptop/smartphone. The Bathroom has a claw foot tub for relaxing baths, and towels, washcloths, blow dryer, iron, and ironing board are all provided.
The Olde North End is (perhaps I’m biased) my favorite neighborhood in Burlington. It is close to downtown, but has a more homey and local feel. The neighborhood is home to many artists, musicians, and other creative types. It has a great selection of bars and restaurants that won’t be as busy as the more touristy downtown area (Drifters, Duino, and Butch and Babes are some of my favorite places to eat and grab a drink).
  • Kathleen's place was a dream- not only was the apartment so close to everything but was cozy, quaint, and homey. Would definitely reccomend Kathleen's place to anyone who wants comfort/affordability and to be in the heart of Burlington. It was amazing and my fiancé and I had a wonderful stay! Thank you Kathleen!

  • Great place, location & hospitality

    David2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the apartment is perfect! Everything you need is within walking distance of the apartment, including City Market, which is awesome for fresh groceries and pre-made foods. The apartment itself is cozy as can be with a comfortable bed and chrome cast TV. The living space was ample and decorated nicely with some funky touches. It even has a claw foot tub ... a glass of wine, some candles and a good relaxing soak!!! You'll love it! Check in was a breeze ... Kathleen gave us perfect instructions and although we didn't meet our host, we knew she was there if we needed her! I would not hesitate to go back!

    Marie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location and lovely, intimate space. Bedroom is right on the street which was slightly noisy but the bed was very comfortable and communication very good. It could not have been better situated to enjoy Burlington in the winter time. Kathleen even allowed a bit of flexibility for check out. Lovely stay! We would definitely stay again.

    Suzanne2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing apartment! It is located just steps away from all the good stuff in Burlington. It is warm and cozy. Very cute. Would definitely stay here again.

  • This place was absolutely perfect. It was quaint and charming, right in the heart of where we wanted to be in Burlington. Free parking was never a problem—we always found a spot despite snowy streets.

  • Had a wonderful weekend stay at Kathleen's place! Ideal location, just a few minute walk from the heart of downtown Burlington. Easy check-in and check-out, plenty of space for two people, and loved that the door had suggestions for restaurants, things to do, etc. written on it. Would definitely recommend this place!

Quiet fully equipped single bedroom apartment located just two blocks from downtown Burlington. It's within walking distance of church street, UVM and the Medical Center, the waterfront, and less than hour from Stowe mountain.
This is a one bedroom/studio apartment located 2 blocks from Church Street. The apartment itself is stocked with coffee and tea, but if you're looking for more than that in the morning just a block away is the Barrio Bakery, where you can get lovely pastries and lattes. In the evening if you're looking for music and dinner, you're just a block away from one of Burlington's best night clubs and restaurants The Radio Bean, where there is live music almost every night. The kitchen is well equipped with utensils, dishes, a coffee maker, a refrigerator for food storage, and a stove. There is a private entrance, queen bed, equipped kitchen, bath with shower (no tub), off-street parking, WiFi, hairdryer, and a futon sofa that folds flat for a third/fourth guest. In addition to having one guaranteed parking spot, which will seem quite a luxury during a snow storm when street parking is prohibited, we also have a wonderful shady yard (not fenced in) for relaxing in. For no additional fee we allow pets to stay with you and the yard is a convenient place to hang out with a pup.
The Old North End is what makes Burlington, Burlington. With great local dining options only a short walk in any direction.
  • Could not beat location. Went skiing at Stowe and it was an easy drive 50min to the mountain. Came back and went out in Burlington at night and walked everywhere. Great stay overall

  • Steep stairs( properly reported by Dave) free coffee was a nice touch. Also the left over food being donated to the local food co op is an awesome idea! Wish more places did this! Short walk to town center. Very much as advertised

  • This is a very nice and accurate place if you are staying with your couple. It had everything we needed, was a warm place an well located (8 minute walk to downtown). We had a really good time.

  • Dave’s place is very cute and cozy! The shower is bigger than it appears in the photo, plenty of space! Great quiet location and easy to find. It’s close enough to walk to downtown Burlington while being just far enough from the noise and commotion.

  • This was a very cozy place to stay. We felt like we were right at home. It was a perfect place to rest after full days of adventuring. Although we already had places in mind to visit while we were staying in Burlington, it was nice to see menus and recommendations left out on the kitchen table by the host. This apartment is in a great location. It’s within walking distance from downtown Burlington and other notable eateries and such. We would definitely come back again.

  • Nice location, very comfortable

  • I wish I could live in this apartment! It’s super cute, plenty of games and a wonderful kitchen in the apartment. And the extremely short walk to Church Street and all that Burlington has to offer is amazing. Would definitely recommend!

This log cabin is set in the woods in a rural part of northeastern Vermont. Escape the hustle and bustle, clear your mind, and enjoy nature. A great place to get some fresh air or to stay in and take a nap. Beautiful summers for easy hikes and refreshing swims in the lakes of our local Groton State Forest, unbelievable foliage to view from small dirt roads, and tons of outdoor winter activities. Great for a couples getaway, friends weekend, or some quality time with the kids. Pets welcome, too!
First off, we (your hosts) like to try to give potential guests an idea of the region of Vermont in which we are located. It's important to emphasize how rural this region is - it's different from other parts of Vermont. We are located in the northeastern part of the state. We are on the opposite side of the state from Burlington and Lake Champlain, and we are east of all of the Central Vermont Ski areas. This area does not have a lot of tourism (relative to the other parts of the state) and in turn has a much smaller, more humble economy than the busier parts of the state. We have a lot of old farmland and meandering dirt roads. The town of Groton, where we are located, has a general store (about a 3 minute drive away from the cabin) and is home to Groton State Forest (about a 10 minute drive from the cabin). But besides that, most everything else (restaurants, bars, shops, ski resorts) is at least a 30-45 minute drive. We don't have a lot of the amenities or well-established outdoor adventure venues that the larger towns like Stowe, VT, Woodstock, VT, or Burlington, VT can offer. Our little of slice of Vermont is truly a place to get away from the more modern world and slow down. I think the best things to do in our immediate area and at the cabin are: star-gazing, napping in the hammock, sitting by the fire pit and roasting marshmallows, snow-shoeing through the backwoods around the cabin, and taking a kayak out on one of the very peaceful lakes in Groton State Forest. With that said, if you are willing to take a drive there are tons of things to do (and remember this is easy driving! very few stop lights and NEVER any traffic). We are right in between the Green Mountains and the White Mountains (about an hour from White Mountain State Park and an hour from Camel's Hump, Mt. Mansfield etc). We are 1 hour and 30 minutes from Burlington and Lake Champlain. A right turn out of the driveway and there are miles and miles of beautiful back roads that glow with reds, oranges and yellows during fall foliage. On a typical drive you will see old farm houses, country general stores with local goods, apples, syrup, and more. There are amazing breweries in all directions, some hidden in the coolest and smallest nooks of our beautiful Vermont hills. In the winter, you will be 45 minutes from the smaller ski mountains Burke Mountain and Bolton Valley, and 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes from bigger ski resorts in all directions (Stowe, Sugarbush, Jay Peak, Loon Mountain, Bretton Woods, Sunapee, and more!). If back woods cross country skiing or snowshoeing is more your speed, there are picturesque old farm fields and backwoods trails within a 20 to 30 minute drive. If your not sure which direction to head in but know you are looking for an outdoor adventure, we will always be more than happy to offer advice, suggestions, and directions to personalize your experience and get you off the beaten path. As for the log cabin itself: it is located on a dirt road in the woods on the outskirts of Groton. Your hosts live in the house about a one or two minute walk up the hill from the log cabin. The two houses are separated by woods, so besides the shared driveway that passes in front of the cabin, the cabin has complete privacy. This is a modern cabin in almost every way. It has electricity, great insulation, central heat (in addition to an effective wood stove), microwave, full gas stove and oven, refrigerator, microwave, a full bathroom, a washer and dryer, a land-line telephone, and wifi. But we want to stress that this is a place to disconnect. Literally. You might get one bar of cell phone service. The cabin does not have TV or computers. Remember, if all you need is a place to rest and relax - this is your place. It's a great place to do nothing at all. You won't hear a thing at night and only a logging truck or two during the day. You can go outside on clear nights and see a sky full of stars. It's a great place to write, do yoga, nap, cuddle, sit around for hours and talk with your loved ones, or just be :)
You are in the middle of the woods. The road that the property is located on is a dirt road that is great for walks at all times of the year, night or day. There are houses every half a mile or so interspersed with woods and old farm land.
  • Amazing. So clean and it's so cozy. I recommend it

  • Emily and her parents are exceptional hosts - friendly, approachable, communicative, and responsive. Their listing is an ideal getaway for someone looking for a getaway - the scenery is beautiful, the cabin is cozy, and there are so many interesting books and puzzles to enjoy! This trip marks the fourth time we have stayed at Emily’s cabin. Not only do we keep coming back, we are already thinking about our next trip!

    Victoria2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of four loves this cabin for our winter retreat. It is so clean, a beautiful location, hosts are very responsive, and it has everything you need to cozy up and have a great time with your loved ones.

  • Great little place Friendly hosts Wonderful place to unwind

    Maryellen2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Emily’s cabin is the perfect Vermont get away! The cabin is located about 20 minutes west of the closest town (grocery shopping, liquor store, ATM, etc), but there are many small restaurants and cafes to discover nearby if you take the advice of your host. This time we checked out the Peacham Cafe which is a beautiful 15 minute drive north of the cabin. The majority of my time was spent by the fire watching my fiancé and dogs play in the snow! This was our third time staying at the cabin and we now know that it is a great place to stay any time of year! Thank you, Emily!

    Jill2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, private cabin in a lovely part of Vermont. This was our third trip here. We make wonderful meals in the great kitchen- explore the countryside- hike and snowshoe, and then warm up by the wood stove. The hosts are so friendly. It’s our favorite winter getaway.

  • This Is one of the best place to stay, Emily was an incredible host. We will definitely be stay here again

    Rigoberto2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • “Suzy” as the cabin is called was lovely. Truly rural (no TV or cell service!), which is why we liked it. The cabin is well maintained and clean and Emily provided detailed information about everything in the house and surrounding areas, which I found very helpful.

  • This has been one of our best Airbnb experiences in Stowe! Pam is superb and so responsive! The home is everything we hoped for and more! It’s cozy and comfortable, well maintained and thoughtfully styled. We love green building and this home has so many of the features we are planning in our future home. The home is cozy and it’s due to its thoughtful construction and design, it has a whole home fresh air system and even a whole home water filter. The owners have gone above and beyond to make this a healthy home. The furniture is laid out efficiently and it’s clutter free. We were really able to relax and enjoy our stay both indoors and out. I’m not used to a washer/dryer combo and it takes a little longer to dry. A tip is to do smaller loads and to do it when you either first wake up or set a delay to run overnight.

    Elena2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Pam’s house is fantastic. Really clean and comfortable, with everything you need. Pam was really helpful suggesting a local walk for us to do too, which the whole family enjoyed. Finally the house is a a super efficient passive house, which is some cool engineering and excellent for the environment! Thank you Pam!

  • The house is exactly as pictured and was a wonderful place to spend a long weekend with friends. Everything truly was pristine and the the location was really convenient. Drive times noted in the listing are accurate. I loved that the house it’s super energy efficient. Don’t hesitate to book.

    Mariah2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house is impeccable! The design and decor are wonderfully thoughtful and beautifully executed. It was super clean, well laid out and allowed for our family of 4 to spread out and relax. Everything you would need for a weekend getaway. It was about 25 min to skiing at Stowe Mountain Resort, door to door. Very close to restaurants and shops in Morrisville. Very convenient easy location! Owner is very responsive.. We hope to be able to stay again!

    Minh Tam (Ali)2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what I expected. Spot on photos, and space was very clean and modern. Can’t even think of one single complaint I would make. Great place to stay

    Chris2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the passive house! The space is beautiful, clean and sleek, with thoughtful decorations and a homey feel. The loft is spacious, the living area has big windows with a great view, and the kitchen was perfect for a few quick meals. We didn’t use the basement but the little fireplace seemed cozy. The house is ~10min drive from beautiful Stowe, which is really convenient. We would love to return!

  • The little cabin in the woods is a perfect place to stay. We went for 2 nights for my fiancé’s birthday to visit Vermont breweries. I would recommend for couples looking to get away and check out breweries and local shops. Good place for skiing and TONS of snowmobiles everywhere. Going up and down the loft stairs was interesting in the middle of the night but did not pose any issues. Just hold the rail you’ll be good. If ever in the area again we would stay here for sure.

River House is across from the Winooski Falls and is part of Burlington's historic mill neighborhood. It's a 10 minute walk to the Winooski Circle which is full of restaurants and activity. Downtown Burlington and Lake Champlain are a 10 min (2 mile) drive away. This unique, arty, brand new loft space includes hardwood floors, a small kitchen and bath, and a shared outdoor space. River House is a good fit for couples, close friends, solo adventurers, tiny house lovers and business travelers.
River House was built in the summer of 2017 with its historic mill neighborhood in mind. The original house dates back to the 1890s and you'll see many historic details in the new space such as photos, maps and books. There are funky, arty touches around the house including large paintings and some smaller works by local artists. The house is stocked with all the comforts of home and we hope your stay here will be restful and that you will get a chance to explore the neighborhood. River House is permitted and inspected by the city of Burlington. Many guests love the unique loft space, the garden patio and central location. Some guests don't like the airplane noise and being 2 miles from downtown Burlington. Please note that the AC window unit is removed from Oct 1-May 1. ** If you are interested in staying one night, send me an inquiry. We charge an additional $20 for the extra cleaning time. **
This is a unique historic neighborhood and the river twists through it. Down the street is the Chace Mill which has a vegan cafe and yoga studio. Across the river is the Champlain Mill which has an outdoor restaurant in the summer and further down the river by the dam is the Woolen Mills. And of course, the Winooski Circle has many restaurants to try and is only a 10 minute walk away. We are centrally located and a quick drive/walk to Winooski, the UVM Medical Center, UVM, the Burlington International Airport and downtown Burlington. There are nearby walking trails on the Winooski River Walk, Casavant Natural Area and Centennial Woods. There is tons to do here, come visit!
  • The River House is a dream. It is perfect for a couple looking for a unique Burlington getaway. We're thankful to have had the chance to experience the River House. Every aspect was thoughtful from the window curtains to the well stocked bathroom for anything you may have forgotten. I appreciated Eva's taste in products (shampoo, body wash, etc) as they were equal quality you would purchase at home. The record player and swing were some of our favorite touches. The Winooski river was so calming to fall asleep and wake up to. We tried as many of Eva's guestbook recommendations as possible, and none disappointed. We really enjoyed Four Quarters micro brewery and Tiny Thai - just a short stroll over the bridge. Downtown Burlington was also a short ~6 minute drive to explore endlessly.

This spacious studio apartment is located in the former Swedish Congregational Church in historic Swedeville, a secluded hilly neighborhood built by Swedish immigrants in the 1800's. For years it housed Rick and Liza’s stained glass studio, which they have now lovingly and creatively transformed into a residence. The rental is minutes from the interstate and one mile from downtown Brattleboro, but the neighborhood has a rural and somewhat European flavor to it.
This 20x20 rental has ten foot high pressed tin ceilings, arched windows, stained glass, a comfortable queen sized bed as well as a twin sized day bed which converts to a king sized bed. The space offers a private subway-tiled bathroom with shower. The kitchenette is equipped with a small fridge, induction hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, french press coffee maker, coffee grinder, tea pot, dishes and utensils. We will provide the fixings for coffee and tea for your use and we leave some breakfast foods in the fridge. Note: We do not have a kitchen sink so we will wash your dishes each day if you leave them outside your door each morning in a container we provide. We have a lovely vegetable and flower garden. You can expect to be greeted by roses or peonies or morning glories depending on the season. The October foliage is outstanding in this area and this neighborhood has some strikingly brilliant trees. During the winter when it snows, the neighborhood looks wonderful coated in sparkling white! Please note that there is a long term rental apartment above this space. You may on occasion hear footsteps on the stairs above. Our renter is very responsive and respectful.
Brattleboro has regularly been recognized as one of the best small towns and best art towns in the USA. It is home to galleries and thrift stores, to a great farmers' market and a monthly gallery walk, to a wonderful youth theatre, a jazz center, and a wide variety of restaurants and shops. Swedeville is a couple of blocks from nature trails for hiking or cross country skiing depending on season. There are many areas for swimming and hiking nearby as well. We are 10 minutes from the Marlboro Music Festival and less than an hour away from Mount Snow and only a bit further from other downhill ski areas.

Sunny apartment overlooking Battery Park on Lake Champlain. Ideally situated just a few blocks from downtown, Church St and the major hotels where you can find some of the best dining in Burlington. An hour's drive to major ski resorts.
This is a cozy apartment (approximately 750 sq ft) with views of Lake Champlain from the front two bedrooms in the winter months (unfortunately the view is blocked in the summer by the leaves on the trees in Battery Park). It's conveniently located adjacent to Battery Park and the Lake and just blocks from downtown and Church Street. The entire apartment was recently renovated with new appliances, a tiled bath, and solid oak hardwood floors throughout. East/West exposures offer both morning and afternoon light and a good cross breeze in the summer. The apartment is fully furnished with linens and a fully equipped kitchen.
The apartment is situated just blocks from downtown Burlington where you can experience some of the best dining in Vermont. The summer months are full of activity in both Battery Park just across the street from the apartment and in Waterfront Park just a short walk down the hill. A full schedule can be found at Burlington Parks Recreation & Waterfront's website. Battery Park is a great place to view sunsets and the Independence Day fireworks (held July 3rd) over Lake Champlain. The winter months offer the best views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains.
  • The space was perfect for our family of 4 with two adult children. We had a little trouble with the remote checkin but the host quickly provided a passcode to use and we were in within minutes. What a beautiful sunset over the lake and great location within walking distance to Church Street. The apartment was clean and perfect for what we wanted for our quick getaway. We had a wonderful weekend!

Meticulously restored farmhouse located next to Stowe Mountain Resort. Perfectly situated for beauty and privacy, but within walking distance to dining, a convenience store, rec. path, and 1,000's of acres of State forest.Private 2nd floor room with 1/2bath ( shared shower downstairs), wonderfully soft double bed . House is quaint with antiques, steep stairs and old fashioned touches. 2 very friendly cats.
Meticulously restored 200 year old farmhouse with the look and feel of a true old New England home. You will arrive on a winding private drive through the woods and come upon lush gardens, fields and lawns surrounding this hidden estate. The guest bedroom is upstairs with its own staircase. The bedroom has its own small 1/2 bath (toilet and sink), desk, and even a refrigerator. The shower and bathtub are downstairs. Guests tell us that the double bed with a 3" memory foam mattress is deliciously comfortable ( but it is only a double). Sometimes you will even find our cat sleeping there. If you are over 6ft tall you will find the ceiling in the bedroom low - it is an historic house and an antique bed. (We do often have an additional room with a single bed available upon request for $50/night if prospective guests need 2 rooms - just ask about it, we don't list it on a regular basis.) High speed wireless internet throughout the house as well as very good cell service. The walk in shower with hand made tiles and separate claw foot tub are in the downstairs bathroom and available for your use as needed. The house is situated on 13 acres next to the Stowe Mtn. Resort ski area - we actually are adjoining landowners and our property also borders on 1,000's of acres of state land with waterfalls, mountain bike, hiking and XC skiing trails out the back door. We have a simple lifestyle with 2 friendly cats(inside/outside), chickens, and extensive gardens - both vegetable and flower - your hostess is a master gardener with the state of Vermont. Our home is right next to all the amenities a resort town can offer, but is completely hidden from the road. Within walking distance is a great wood fired pizza/ sushi bar and grill (The Matterhorn), a small store, and the bike path starts 1/2 mile down the road. We even have bikes for our guests to use in the summer. It is an old fashioned house filled with country antiques, steep staircases, and creaky floors. We provide breakfast-homemade granola or more- if you wish. If you get lucky you may hit us when we are having waffles with our own fresh picked raspberries or blueberries! We both alpine and XC ski regularly, and have snow shoes available for guests. You can ski home to our house from the mountain if you enjoy back country skiing, and the XC center is right next door. The paneled living room , (with a wood stove in the winter), is available for your use. In the summer we have picnic tables and a place to barbecue outside in the gardens. Our house was recently featured in magazine!! Here is the link: http://issuu.com/stoweguideandmagazine/docs/stowe_magazine_ws13_14/176
We live next to 1,000's of acres of state forest and preserved land. We are across the street from a beautiful waterfall and swimming hole. We have gardens, walking paths and wilderness right in our backyard!
  • Lyndall makes her home your home. While you share a bath with the family you feel like an extended family member. The home is a testimony to antiquity. A reimagined antique colonial reconstructed from an original home in Maine and moved to Stowe, re-built with love and extraordinary care for historical details and construction techniques. The room was comfortable. It would be great to have a dresser to allow for unpacking your suitcase. Not a deal breaker. All told a very intriguing and rewarding stay at a very reasonable rate.

    Don2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting and great hospitality. Cannot recommend enough.

    Nolan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Another great stay with Lyndall and Scott. Everything was perfect: the hospitality, the room, the breakfast and the location.

    Nolan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lyndall and Scott provided a comfortable and homey stay for me in Stowe. I felt right at home reading with a cup of tea in front of the fire. Whenever I was home, I had was greeted with warm smiles, and welcoming conversation. I highly recommend this quaint farmhouse!

    Nolan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lyndall and Scott's place is the perfect location for enjoying the Stowe resort. Their house is absolutely lovely and the bedroom cozy with a really comfortable bed and linens. The hosts offered helpful tips about the town amenities that really added to our weekend. In the end, the thing we enjoyed most about their place was their welcoming, relaxed hospitality.

Our treehouse is a peaceful and serene location perfect for a relaxing getaway. With the treehouse located in the Green Mountain National Forest and perched just uphill from our beaver pond, you will experience a unique opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the Green Mountains. Being located between Killington and Sugarbush you will have plenty to do. Between the cozy bed and in-house massage therapist you probably won’t want to leave anyway. Make sure to check out our other treehouse!
From the treehouse platform you can sit, relax and watch the beavers in their pond below or just cozy up inside the treehouse or go be adventurous in the forest.
Our neighbors include the Green Mountain National Forest and the river! But we do have local places and fun things to do from hiking trails to skiing at Killington and Sugarbush resorts, fishing and hunting in the local areas, art and food in nearby Rochester, and breweries in Middlebury!
  • My girlfriend and I love adventuring and this was definitely a good one. The treehouse was as described: small, cute, cozy and warm. We thought the bed was really comfortable with plenty of blankets to keep us warm (not like we needed that many as there is a propane heater we were able adjust as needed). Derek is really easy to communicate with and was very hospitable. He knew I wanted to make a small fire in the fire-pit and brought us a hatchet, wood and pizza box! Small touches made a huge difference. And there were cookies to greet us. Overall, if you're looking for nice getaway with a cool experience, feel easy about booking here. Hour and 15 minute drive to Burlington, 30 minutes to Middlebury. Have fun!

    Shaheen2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ideal cabin to disconnect from a weekend! Derek is listening to us and always there for our needs. They even let us take a shower at his place. I will come back in the summer to see all the flora and fauna it hides under the snow.

    Lucas2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fun adventure, unplugged and in the trees!

    Colleen2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Dereks treehouse was great, Derek met us upon arrival and showed us all the details and answered any questions we had. It was very clean, and close to great food and areas for activities. We will surely be back to stay again.

    Tyler2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem and being amongst the trees like this is a real treat. Hosts are exceptional and really care about the trees and their land, Derek’s craftsmanship really shows and Jammie is exceptionally talented if you are lucky enough to be able to book a massage with her. My January stay at the Beaver Treehouse was chilly outside but warm and cozy inside. Winter stays definitely require a spirit of adventure, and be prepared to be confined to the indoors where the only furniture is a large bed but the books on trees and wilderness and games are a great way to pass the time! And the outhouse view is exceptional!

    Ashley2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Derek's treehouse was excellent. Exactly as described plus the benefit of a great host.

    Timothy2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The tree house was really fun, we stayed there in the winter and my wife was a little worried about being cold but the heater in there did it’s job, it rained most of the night and sounded really cool on the roof. One of the best nights sleeps I have ever had so relaxing thanks Derek.

    David2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse is just as described and is very simple and quaint! My husband and I enjoyed our one night stay and wish we could’ve stayed longer. Derek was great communicating from the very beginning and was so helpful and thorough about everything when we arrived. We stopped at a nice bakery on our way to grab something to eat quick before we got there called Sandy’s which Derek had recommended. The lady who was working knew Derek and his wife and assured us we were going to have a nice time and they were great people. We really enjoyed everything and will definitely be back soon for a longer stay!

This newly-renovated historic schoolhouse overlooks our family's regenerative organic farm. The Schoolhouse is bright & open, with a modern design & peaceful, rustic feel. It is the perfect place to relax & enjoy a country setting with views of the Green Mountains in every direction. We have just added a new private deck at the Schoolhouse property, with a hot tub & panoramic barrel sauna. Come to unwind, cook, & enjoy a quintessential Vermont experience on our 270 acre property.
OVERVIEW This 800 square foot house is open and filled with natural light. It has vaulted ceilings, wood floors, concrete countertops, bright windows, and two large decks that look out over the farm and the mountains to the west. Most nights, the view of the sunset is spectacular. ///////// If you scroll through the listing photos, the last three images show layouts of the house inside and out, to give you a sense of the space. ////////// BEDROOMS There are two queen beds in the house: one in a private downstairs bedroom, and one in an open loft bedroom above the living area. (The peak of the loft bedroom is just over 6 feet, so taller guests will be more comfortable in the downstairs bedroom.) There is also a full-size futon in the living area that can be made up to accommodate an additional two guests. WIFI & TV The house has wifi and a "Smart TV" (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, HBO, etc. streaming for your devices). There is NO cable/live TV nor DVD. We also have small portable speakers so you can listen to music indoors and out. KITCHEN The kitchen is well equipped with major appliances and cooking tools. We get a lot of questions about which specific kitchen items are available, so we've made a detailed list, and posted it at the end of the listing photos, with the house layouts. If you scroll backwards from the listing photo, you will see the kitchen list right away. DECKS & YARD AREA Outside, there is a large attached deck with an outdoor dining table and chairs where you can enjoy a meal al fresco. We have a propane grill set up, and our pasture-raised meat for sale, if you'd like to prepare your own farm-to-table dinner. The yard has a fire pit and seating, as well as room for yard games. HOT TUB, SAUNA, & OUTDOOR SHOWER The hot tub, sauna, and outdoor shower are located on a separate, elevated deck adjacent to the house. This deck is private to the Schoolhouse, and about 20 feet from the front door of the house. We recommend bringing sandals, slippers or other slip-on shoes to walk to the deck in the winter when there's snow! The sauna and hot tub are available for use year round. The outdoor shower is available between May-September. LOCATION The house is located 3 miles down a well-maintained dirt road. It is a 10-15 minute drive to North Bennington and Bennington where you'll find dining, shops, and groceries, and a 25-30 minute drive to Manchester where there are designer outlets, recreation, and fine dining. ABOUT OUR FARM The Schoolhouse looks out over our family's 4th-generation farm—5th if you count shepherds under the age of 5. We use no chemicals (pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, etc.) on the land. We practice regenerative agriculture—using our sheep, chickens, turkeys, bees, and perennial fruit and forage crops to make sure our farm's ecosystems and animals remain fed, protected, strong, and resilient. For a peek at the farm, you can check out @studiohillvt on Instagram, or search the web for Studio Hill Farm.
The house is located 3 miles down a well-maintained dirt road. It is a secluded location, but there are a wide variety of dining and activities within 15-30 minutes of the farm. • Such a fun space and we LOVED our stay. Caroline was great and very responsive. The space is so well decorated and had everything we needed. Also, we all (kids included) had so much fun with the amazing view from the hot tub and sauna. Can't wait to come back!

    Abby2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Caroline’s place! The Schoolhouse is incredible and the pictures don’t nearly capture all of the thoughtful touches, like farm fresh eggs, homemade chocolates and goat milk soap upon arrival. The space itself was cozy and clean with so much natural light from the windows overlooking their many sheep! The outdoor sauna was an amazing experience and highly recommend staying here during winter where you can look out at the snow from a warm little pod.

    Casey2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was absolutely exceptional! If you are looking don’t hesitate to book! I put together a little blog post about our time at gabbyyjeann.com! I highly highly recommend this incredible cozy schoolhouse!

One of the oldest homes in West Townshend with loads of charm! Bright, cozy rooms and a private yard with outdoor fire pit. Quiet side street with easy access to the Townshend Lake Trail System. Enjoy nature walks, river exploration, mountain biking, and cross country skiing. Walk to the country store/café for wholesome meals plus seasonal Farmer's Market. Convenient to both Brattleboro and Manchester. Explore Southern Vermont's recreation, dining, shopping and ski resorts
The space is cozy with plenty of natural light and is set up to make your stay as comfortable as possible. New mattresses and beds with quality linens and towels. New washer and dryer for laundry during extended stays. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need if you want to do your own cooking. There is a toaster oven as well as a traditional electric range and a microwave. Coffee and tea are provided. There have been many recent upgrades to this home, but several features are unique in character including an antique claw foot bath tub (with shower) in the main bathroom. The second bathroom is quite small with an older tub as well plus a hand held shower . As is typical with old Vermont farm houses- people made use of what was availble. The house, with its old time VT character and the village setting will definitely give you a classic small town New England experience!
The neighbors keep to themselves, but friendly. Worden Lane is not a through road so there is very little traffic. A short walk to the end of the road will lead you to the trail system.
  • Tansy’s place was really great. It was quaint in a good way and very spacious with a wonderful country feel to it. It was a very warm place to come home to after a long day of skiing.

  • Tansy was a great host and the cottage was adorable! It was quaint, relaxing and well decorated - we loved it. The outlets were baby proofed which was thoughtful for those with families. The cottage was spacious and the pictures didn’t so justice - much better than expected. Truly got the Vermont winter experience. Would recommend to anyone and come back! Thank you!

    Hailey2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is the quintessential VT farm house. Looks like Joanna and Chip Gaines helped with the decorations. We would highly recommend this gem. It is a central location for skiing Bromley, Stratton, and Mt Snow.

    Stephen2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tansy's place was awesome. Very cozy, stylish, and clean place to stay for a ski trip with plenty of room for several people. She's very responsive and gave recommendations for the surrounding area upon request. Provided awesome variety of seasonings to make cooking much easier compared to other hosts I have stayed with in the past. The only thing I would say, and it is not a turn off in the slightest, is that the space upstairs and in the bathroom is not tall friendly. I'm 6'5" and was a little large for the shower as my head was hitting the ceiling.

Specifically, we are 12 miles from Bolton Valley Resort, 27 miles from Smugglers Notch Resort, 29 miles from Sugarbush Resort, and 33 miles from Stowe Mountain Resort.
  • Thank you Laura for sharing your beautiful space! We went in mid/late February with approx 1.5ft of snow on the ground. If you're visiting during the snow season and have a lot of gear, bring a sled along with you if you can. Your legs with thank you later. The hike up to the cabin is only about 10 minutes, but if you've got to make a few trips, loading your gear onto a sled may help the uphill trek in the snow. Once you're up there and settled in, it sure is magical! Unlike another review, we had no trouble heating up the sleeping loft. Outside lows during the night was in high teens, but you can definitely get that little wood stove cranking. After about an hour, the heat certainly makes its way up there and it was plenty comfortable. Hope to be back later this year to see what summer or fall has to offer. Would recommend this stay, especially if you are looking to unplug for a little while.

  • My fiancé and I have been going to Laura’s beautiful cabin for 3 years now. We got engaged there last year! The cabin is the perfect retreat for those looking to go off the grid. Laura has started the wood stove prior to our arrival each year. The cabin is always warm and cozy when we arrive. We can’t wait for our next visit!

  • Great place as described! We picked a very cold weekend and were a bit chilly overnight. But the bed was comfy and we had a fun time heading into Burlington and Stowe!

  • The cabin was exactly as described. We loved cooking over the camp fire every night and enjoyed exploring the local area.

  • It was such a perfect delight for me to escape the worlds demand and get off grid. Laura even started a fire for me so the cabin was warm on arrival.

  • A truly unique, off-the-grid experience. My girlfriend and I had a relaxing, disconnected weekend and were privy to the first VT snow of the season! The wood stove was easy to operate and the outhouse surprisingly exceeded expectations!

Cabin is located on our property in Hyde Park. Place is small but a great place to get away from it all. It has a queen size bed and cozy little living room. Enjoy going for a walk just out back in the fields and woods.
This is a very small but cozy cabin only 325 sf it has small bedroom with queen bed. Living room with couch and tv and DVD player. Small bathroom with hot shower and toilet. Small kitchen area with one burner and toaster oven and small refrigerator/freezer. Pots, pans, coffee press and dishes round out kitchen area. In the winter cabin is heated with small propane heater- keeping things cozy. Summer we provide fans. Outside you will find a charcoal grill and fire place and couple chairs to relax in by the fire. I don’t provide wood but it can be bought just down the street at Tractor Supply. Cabin is very private but still close to the town of Morrisville about 5 min drive away. Price Chopper supermarket is just a quick ride if you need anything. Most guest are looking to venture out on day trips to surrounding towns and our cabin is centrally located. With Stowe only a 20 min drive away. Also close by is Jay Peak and Smuggler's Notch. It is worth noting that while our cabin does have Wifi it is not strong enough for any major streaming or work applications. Also cell phone service will depend on your provider.
Cabin is on our property we own on a old farm. It's surrounded by big fields making the views quite nice . We are also close to town but just fair enough away.
  • You’ll love this cozy little cabin!

  • Convenient and comfortable stay. This little cabin was as described with easy self check-in and reliable heat in a chilly season. AJ was helpful in explaining some small quirks ahead of time! Perfect only-what-you-need stay in the area.
