  • We booked Clare’s place as a very last minute escape following the cancellation of our trip to Berlin because of the ongoing Coronavirus situation. We wanted somewhere rural and private as a kind of ‘escape’ from the current situation... and what an escape it was... The location was amazing.... lovely views of the countryside and wildlife... to wake up to chickens and ducks playing in the pond opposite the mill was very cute......you can stay in the mill and see no one if you like, or drive 5 minutes into a lovely quaint town...perfect. The mill is simply stunning....no other words; beautifully finished and furnished... an absolute testament to Clare who project managed the mill’s restoration.. It was spotlessly & professionally cleaned before our arrival, the bath was amazing and the bed ridiculously comfortable. Clare was very generous & kind. The ‘perfect host’. Communication was excellent and all the extra touches on arrival ( I won’t ruin the surprise) made us feel special & welcome. If you don’t stay here, you really are missing out!! In this current climate of uncertainty and anxiety, this is really the perfect escape. We’d love to stay again in the future. Thank you Clare

  • Absolutely stunning accommodation, we will be back!

    Andrew2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Clare is a lovely host and really made us feel at home in the mill! It is a beautiful property and well worth a visit.

    Ethan2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really amazing stay at the windmill. It’s such a unique building and really nicely done inside. We really enjoyed sitting out on the staging to watch the sunrise, despite the single figure temperatures. Claire is an excellent host! She was really helpful - lending us some bits to clean up our walking boots after encountering a huge bog on our afternoon walk. Highly recommend a visit and we’d definitely be keen to stay again.

    Suzy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A really special, well designed space. We couldn’t be happier that it rained the whole time as it meant we got to spend the whole stay in the windmill! Thanks

    Steve2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing Windmill and what an amazing location! Clare was also so kind - and even gave us some fresh rhubarb from her garden. She was incredibly helpful and gave us lots of tips for the area. Would recommend this place 150 percent!

    George2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The most perfect place for a relaxing break away! So unique & quaint, with the most heavenly bedding! Clare is a great host.... we can’t wait to come and visit again! X

    Georgina2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • One of the most extraordinary spaces we've stayed in. Peaceful, and immaculately kept. It's every bit as good as it looks in the listing. Clare's insights on the area were invaluable too - and she couldn't have been more accommodating (eg for a dietary requirement). Thank you so much again.

Embrace the quirky, cosy interiors in this romantic getaway. Open the doors to the terrace, and let the sounds of nature waft through the lodge. Fire up the BBQ, enjoy a good meal and then spend the evening in the hot tub gazing up at the stars.
Located in one of Maidstone in Kent's oldest roads, neighbouring buildings used to provide accommodation to pilgrims on their travels to Canterbury in medieval times. Perfect for anyone looking to get away from it all and for those looking for something different, the quirky interior of the Lodge is an eclectic mix of vintage and modern. It offers a romantic hideaway, with exclusive use of the brand new hot tub jacuzzi directly outside your door, and a low height mezzanine sleeping area on a futon mattress, in the double height roof where you can star watch in bed, listening to the local owls. The fully equipped, open plan kitchen/lounge area is cosy in the winter with underfloor heating, and equally delightful in the summer when the bi-fold doors can be opened up to enjoy BBQ's on the deck. With Wifi access, Bose mini sound system, Nespresso coffee pod machine and a flat screen TV, you can also keep in touch with the outside world if you really want to. The Lodge is perfectly located for those who want a car free holiday in the corner of our 1.5 acre garden, about 60m from the main house. Please note that while the Lodge is completely private the hot tub area is not, as you are in the garden shared with our house. A short walk will take you to the ancient village green of Bearsted with its Butcher / Deli / Bakery and a choice of excellent restaurants. For those wishing to take the train, the village station provides services to the coast or to London, to give you transport choices. 5 minutes by car will get you to the award winning Leeds castle, while a 40-60 minutes drive will take you to the many beautiful historic towns of Kent including Tenterden, Canterbury and Tunbridge Wells, as well as the beautiful Kent coast line and the EuroTunnel. Perfectly located for weddings and celebrations at the award winning Orangery in Maidstone, why not make a holiday out of your stay? Subject to availability The Lodge can be booked in conjunction with it's sister property 'Knocklofty', a one minutes walk away and can accommodate up to 4 people.

  • We had a lovely stay at this very stylish cottage in Bearsted. The house was easy to find and within walking distance of the village. It was thankfully very cosy, which was much appreciated as we visited it on a cold, windy and miserable weekend. The size and layout was perfect for us and our 2 children. The house was extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. The hot tub is a real bonus! Barbara was an excellent host - she was very responsive and sent a very detailed welcome email with lots of useful information in advance of our trip.

    Ella2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I had a lovely relaxing stay here. The place is cute and nicely decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed to do some cooking. The hot tub was the highlight!

    Shani2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend away. Although the weather was bad the hot tub was still available to use. All amenities were great and everything you needed was there.

    Elena 2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • It was just perfect

    Peter2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I fell in love with this place based on the photos and it looked exactly the same in real life, which is always great to see. There were thoughtful touches added to make our stay special and the cottage was absolutely gorgeous both inside and out. The information provided on the local area was really helpful and Barbara & Mike were quick to respond to any questions we had. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone thinking of staying in the area.

    Paul2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay at and great location we had a wonderful couple of nights there and the host were extremely helpful when needed. Would stay there again.

  • A lovely home with lovely hosts! Barbara and Mike communicate very well and provide lovely little details such as a bottle of prosecco on arrival and a follow up message to make sure everything is okay on the first day of the stay. The home and hot tub are extremely well kept and warm and the area is very quaint and friendly. Lots of things to do a short drive away. There are a few pubs/restaurants within 5 minutes walk which are really nice to go to for dinner and a drinks. We are really looking forward to hopefully return again! Thanks for everything Rebecca

    Becca2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing cottage full of character which made my friend and I feel at home straightaway! It's cosy and warm, the kitchen utensils are amazing and the style was so unique. There were plenty of walks on our door step and we had dinner at the Oak on the Green which was only a few minutes away. I would highly recommend this place.

This amazing converted pub has 8 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, lounge, huge dining table seating 16 and a fully fitted kitchen. The perfect weekend retreat or mid week business getaway location - spoil yourself, this venue is amazing just read our reviews! We can arrange anything you need from taxis, catering, activities, wine tasting, pamper sessions, to cocktail flairing! A real emphasis on luxury and a boutique hotel feel. Four floors of heaven and all within 1 hour of London.
A fabulous Grade 2 listed Victorian pub, now luxury self catering accommodation for up to 16 people under 50 minutes from the centre of London. We cater for families who want to celebrate a special occasion or just want to get together for family time, to companies who want the ultimate corporate getaway and the opportunity to hire their own private boutique hotel. The Bull has a fully equipped kitchen, utility room, dining area with a table seating 16, sitting room with plenty of comfy sofas, open fire, media room with 65" Ultra HD TV, 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, 6 of which are en suite, 2 more WC's on ground floor. Four of the king size beds will split into singles. South facing courtyard. Only 30 minutes from the coast. The Bull at Brenchley was built in 1864 and retains many of the original features - but with mod cons too! The ceilings are high and the dining area and sitting room are open plan. These used to be the bars in the pub. The kitchen is fully equipped with a 7 burner hob, double oven and grill. There is a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer and microwave in the utility room. The pantry is full of dishes, bowls, jugs - everything you could possibly want. So if you are real foodies you won't be short of utensils, pots and pans. All of the bedrooms are good sizes, the smallest room has bunk beds with full size 3' beds. Six of the bedrooms have en suite showers or bathrooms, 4 of which have under floor heating and demister mirrors. The 7th shower room is on the top floor and is between two bedrooms so would be ideal for a family who want to be next to their children. The original beer cellar is now a TV media room with a 65" curved Ultra HD TV with Sky TV, YouTube, Netflicks. For business visitors looking for a business planning/strategy away day, the TV will link to your laptop with an HDMI cable, so it's great for presentations and our quoted prices are inclusive of VAT, so it's a very good deal! We also have a projector and screen available for business visitors. This room has reduced head height in relation to the 9' ceilings upstairs, but unless you are 6'4 plus you will be able to stand up in the middle. There is also an area to sit and play cards or games and two huge sofas for lounging around. There is an old fashioned record player and LP's and a Karaoke machine. We have Super Fast Fibre Optic Broadband because we know how important it is! You will be able to stream TV on your laptop and work if you really have to. The beer garden is a small south facing deck and patio area. There is plenty of space to sit and eat with a large dining table and parasol. It's a pretty garden that is private, with outside fairy lights for evenings. We would stress that Brenchley is a small village and we ask our guests not to remain outside after 11pm as the noise travels and may disturbs our neighbours.
Brenchley is a lovely Tudor village, many of the houses are from the 16th Century. The Bull is Victorian because the original thatched pub burned down 150 years ago. There are fabulous walks that take you to many pubs in the local area. Matfield is a neighbouring village with a village green and three pubs surrounding it. Cricket matches and village fetes take place on the green. Horsmonden 2 miles in the opposite direction has been voted the best Village Stores in England.
  • A beautiful house, perfect for a special occasion. We hired it for my husbands 40th and it was the ideal choice! Such a fun weekend. I highly recommend staying at The Bull, you won't be disappointed.

  • Where do I start, I have just returned from this beautiful house. It literally is faultless. From the minute we walked in we were running around exploring and squealing with delight. I had organised a group of ladies for the weekend as a surprise for my sisters 50th.. Everyone commented on how fabulous it was, and you cant always please everyone...but you did!. We had caterers come in on the Saturday night from The Kitchen of Kent (a recommendation from Rob and Debbie) who were amazing, a walk to The hopbine for Sunday lunch, again amazing then back for the rugby in the amazing basement room, where the 2 nights previous we spent most of our time on the karaoke....a huge hit. There is nothing negative to say, the rooms are all beautifully furnished to such a high standard and you can see the thought and effort that has gone into this amazing house. The ladies want a repeat next year.....we will return. So once again thank you Rob and Debbie, you made my sisters weekend one to remember

    Emma2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Superb house with high quality amenities, lovely quirky touches to make it feel special and sparkling clean. We used it for a weekend family get together and everybody (including the ultra-fussy one that always complains) thought it was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend.

    Vivienne2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Bull is the perfect spot for business teams or families that want a classic part of British countryside. A beautiful coffee house “The Little Bull” is next door, a wonderful butchers ready for cater for breakfast and a handy mini supermarket/post office opposite. I took my team of 12 and there was plenty of space. We went on a country walk across fields on the bridal path to some traditional pubs and the whole experience felt straight out the film “The Holiday” Would certainly recommend to any large groups. Superb communication the whole way also.

    James2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • I have just returned from a 3 night stay over new year at the Bull with 15 friends and 2 four legged friends!! This place is beyond amazing. It was so well equipped to a very high standard. The kitchen was so well equipped, the dining table perfect and the beds were a dream!! We will definitely be back! Rob and Debbie were both so helpful. Thanks so much to you both!

  • A lovely cosy and homely property that suited our family gathering perfectly. Everyone was happy, from grandparents to teenagers and babies. The kids loved the space in the cinema room and the communal area allowed us to eat in and spend time together. Communication with Debbie and Rob was swift and really helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We also had a fabulous visit to Bodiam castle. We definitely hope to visit again soon.

    Jonathan2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful and unforgettable stay in Debbie's house for my 40th birthday. We stayed there at 14 without stepping on it and everyone was absolutely delighted with the stay. Communication with Rob was very simple, he was very responsive. I can't wait to turn 50!

  • Alison was a great host and incredibly welcoming and accommodating, even when it was an inconvenience! An amazing house with incredible views and a great pool. We had a hen party here and the cottage was perfectly kitted out with every utensil you could hope for in the kitchens, and TVs all over the place for downtime. Lots of space and didn’t feel crowded at all. Perfect as well as the rooms were all 2 single beds so plenty of privacy. It’s a great location if you want the remote beauty of real English countryside.

  • We were a party of 14 women celebrating 40th, 50th and 60th birthdays. The location is great with fabulous views over the countryside. We rented the whole barn and each of the 3 cottages have well equipped kitchens and comfortable bedrooms. We loved the visits from the chicken and dogs and enjoyed feeding all our scraps to the pigs. Weather was fab and we enjoyed the use of the outdoor pool which is heated. Took a nice walk around the lake and sunflower field. Alison is a lovely, friendly host who gives you privacy. Would say accommodation better suited for 12 people as sofa beds not very comfy but apart from that it was a fabulous stay.

  • A hidden gem! We had such a lovely time here, such a beautiful hidden oasis. Lovely and inviting lodge, clean and decorated homely. It was like a home away from home. Would definitely return and didn’t want to leave! The log burner and hot tub were a luxury and everything was so private it felt like it was just the two of us. Wendy was a great host, I asked for breakfast recommendations and whether a late check out was a possibility and Wendy responded quickly and provided us some helpful tips. Thank you for a lovely stay!

  • My girlfriend and I stayed here as we needed a place close to see family. After looking online we found this great place and at such an amazing price as well. We had a friendly greeting and a tour around the place. Wendy was such a lovely and informative host and made us feel at home. The amenities were outstanding and couldn’t have asked for a cleaner place. Wendy has even gone to the effort of spraying all the door handles especially with this virus going around. The hot tub was such a great touch, even in the cold climate it was very relaxing. Overall we had an amazing stay, a great nights sleep and everything we could have asked for in an air bnb and more. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay around the Medway area and I can’t thank Wendy and Sean enough for such a great stay and being amazing hosts.

    Richard2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The hot-tub is brilliant and makes the place along with the wood fire.

  • What a beautiful place to stay! Fern was really friendly and has set up the cabin beautifully, with lovely touches inside and out. We were lucky enough to get some March sunshine to enjoy the decking but the interior of the cabin is just as nice to spend time in. Because of the Covid19 isolation order all the local restaurants were closed but cooking our own candle lit steak meal in the cabin was perfect. We will definitely be back in another season to see the lake and woods from another perspective. Thanks Fern!

  • If you want peace and tranquility this is the perfect place. Ferns log cabin is beautifully appointed - really warm cosy and comfortable. It has beautiful views of the lake and countryside from all aspects. Fern is an excellent communicator and a warm and friendly host. We will definitely be back and thoroughly recommend it to others.

  • Fern is a great host and the cabin was just as we expected. Very peaceful and calm apart from the occasional goose which I find is part of the charm. If you have a chance to go there, would recommend 100%. We had some lovely walks around the public footpaths in the area, good food and some fun encounters with animals. Thanks again Fern !

    Chloé2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was really amazing, it is so serene and wonderful. You can step out in the morning to a beautiful view and hear nothing but the sound of nature. I planned to ask my girlfriend to marry me on the balcony overlooking the lake but the cabin provided such a lovely setting I ended up just doing it inside. Fern is a lovely host and sets you up nicely on arrival. We went for a lovely walk around the woods on the Saturday that wasn't too taxing and again provided a lovely peaceful setting. I 100 % recommend this to anyone looking for a nice location to escape to, and whilst we didn't travel the local area, it is very well situated for doing so.

    Callum2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Just come back from a lovely weekend away at this beautiful cabin. It was spotlessly clean, Fern is a lovely and friendly host. No WiFi but we didn’t even need it, there’s so much scenery and wildlife to enjoy. Perfect tranquil getaway!

We have renovated the whole house and guest room two years ago. The new guest room has its own entry through the main garden gate, powerful rainforest shower in the stone-tiled private shower . We are located in beautiful Cranbrook, close to lots of National Trust sites : 5 minutes drive to Sissinghurst Castle Garden, 20 minutes to Bodium Castle and Scotney Castle, 25 minutes to the Batemans. An ideal place if you are visiting Benenden, Tenterden, Ashford and Tunbridge well.
The garden ensuite is located on the ground floor, while other bed rooms in the house are on the first floor, therefore guests have their own quite floor in the night. It has its own entrance to garden and drive way, perfect independent space in the house.
Cranbrook is the historical trading town, nowadays is the town full of good schools, very close to lots of national trust sites and the famous high weald trail. If you like nature, history, hiking, biking, animals, castles, beaches, then Cranbrook is the perfect place to stay !
  • This place is very clean. The host tidies the room every day. We also enjoyed our privacy, as there was a separate entrance. I would have loved it even more if I had had a table, 2 chairs, a microwave, and a fridge. It was slightly awkward to close/open the gate. Nonetheless, we are grateful that Melody provided us with simple breakfast the night before. Would come back!

  • The private room is the guest house of Melody's family home, which I found to be very cosy. The property is on a winding country road. Melody was very thoughtful in her approach to accommodating me and helped me explore Sissinghurst Castle gardens by giving me a lift there as well as advising me on local trails/ walks. I had the pleasure of meeting her sons briefly too. Overall a very good hospitality experience.

There is a small stream in the garden and also a 60ft Zip wire for children to enjoy (At the guests risk!). Garden camping and BBQ's are also allowed. Pets are allowed but with prior approval of the hosts. There is plenty of drive space for children to ride bikes and the AstroTurf tennis court can be used for football as well as tennis.
Cranbrook is a lovely market town with good facilities. Sometimes called the Capital of the Kentish Weald, Cranbrook looks and feels much as it has done for centuries: a peaceful small town of weatherboarded houses, surrounded by orchards and farmland. It is also an ideal base for exploring the area. Sissinghurst Gardens are only 5 mins away by car. You can take a trip on the beautifully restored steam trains on the Tenterden to Bodiam line, visit Bodiam Castle, kayak in the River Rother at the Lime Wharf Cafe, try the wines at Hush Heath Estate, Biddenden or Chapel Down vineyards, or walk among the pine trees of Bedgebury Pinetum, Englands national collection of conifers. There are plenty of great pubs nearby. The Milk House, The Goudhurst Inn & The Great House all do superb food & Drink. There is plenty for children to do too. Rye and Camber are only approximately 30mins away by car so a beach day trip is a must in the summer. Shopping in Tunbridge Wells is a great day out with plenty of high street names and restaurants. Ashford Designer Outlet is only 35 mins away. The Chapel Down brewery is also in Ashford and is well worth a visit. Opposite the accommodation is Rural Courses, a must for all would be cider or salami makers, foragers and much more (www.ruralcourses.co.uk)

Located 2.4 miles from world renowned Sissinghurst Castle Gardens in a tranquil, rural setting just outside Sissinghurst village, the host offers a comfortable, self contained garage conversion over two floors. The property is surrounded by beautiful countryside views and woodland walks. It is also ideally located for visits to stunning castles, gardens and pretty Wealden towns and villages. Reliable, regular train services from nearby Staplehurst (4.4 miles) to London take an hour.
'The Cabin' is located adjacent to the host's recently refurbished 1897 property that was originally a Victorian Convalescent Home. It provides 1 double and 1 single bedroom upstairs. The downstairs area has an open plan kitchen/dining/sitting area and a bathroom with a shower. The host will provide all bedding and towels and there is a small hairdryer for guests to use. Guests need to note that the property has a space saving staircase with trap door between floors. Please look carefully at the pictures provided to ensure that this is suitable for your mobility needs. The Kitchen is fully equipped including complimentary tea and coffee, a dishwasher and fridge with small freezer compartment. There is a LG Smart TV with DVD Player. We offer a selection of DVD's and On Demand TV via the TV Apps. The TV is not connected to an aerial. Mobile reception can vary in strength depending on your provider. There is WiFi. The Cabin has it's own parking within a parking area shared with the main house. The one acre garden and external areas are in the process of being renovated and The Cabin's own courtyard garden is not yet suitable for guests to use although we are happy for guests to sit outside and enjoy the view at the table and chairs provided. The hosts are a family with two well trained teenage sons, a friendly dog, a black cat and some chickens with a rooster. The host's garden backs onto a farm and has sheep in the field at the bottom of the garden. It is possible to walk directly from the property onto a public footpath that leads through beautiful bluebell woods and a rural lane on a good circular walk.
Our property is perfectly situated to visit many wonderful locations including, Bodium, Scotney and Leeds Castles, Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens and Great Dixter. For the more adventurous, Bedgbury Pinetum and Forest is 20 minutes away providing walking, biking trails and childrens activities. There are three local vineyards to tour: Hush Heath, Biddenden and Chapel Down. In under 40 minutes you can reach the historic seaside town of Rye with it's cobbled backstreets, antique shops and restaurants and in the opposite direction the Spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells. Cranbrook is a pretty local town only 2.5 miles away with lovely cafe's, shops and pubs. The Milk House Pub in Sissinghurst Village is the closest gastropub with delicious food and a pleasant garden with children's play area.
  • Great place to escape London for a relaxing break! We even managed a couple of nice long hikes in the surrounding area :)

    Jason2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a place to stay!! Stylish place, very nice touches like fresh daffodills :) Enjoyed staying at Cabin a lot! Catherine is very nice host, gave us some breakfast essentials. When you lay in the double bed upstairs you can admire stars in the sky, also chest of drawers have decorative knobs :) Towels very very soft, enjoyed every moment of our stay. Would highly recommend!

    Greg2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed over a long weekend for two nights and it was such a relief and stress free experience especially if you come from the city. Easily accessible though a car or taxi would be needed. We went for dinner st the Milk House pub which was terrific less than 10 minutes away driving. We also went to the Hush Heath Vineyard which was an amazing and tasteful experience less than 20 minutes driving. On a clear night you can see the stars laying from the bed due to the sky lights. We decided to cook one of the other nights and the kitchen has everything you could need for doing that! All in all a pleasant stay in the Kent countryside which may surprise you.

  • My second visit, and everything was just as perfect as before. Catherine has done a lovely job of making the place comfortable and welcoming and has added some lovely touches like fresh bread and eggs from her chickens. We love it here, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing break from the madness of daily life.

  • Fantastic stay in a really beautiful little hideaway. My wife and I were looking for a break away from the busy city life and this was exactly what we needed. The place was really well designed and set up. The hosts were very considerate and welcoming. The location was perfect. We were hoping to walk a lot but it rained a bit while we were there so we stayed in and really enjoyed the cosy feel too.

Lovely one bed cottage set in middle of the Kent countryside. Located down a quiet country lane with a private garden and parking. The cottage has been lovingly restored to provide maximum use of the space available. It provides a fantastic base for 1 or 2 guests to explore Kent and Sussex.
If you walk out the grounds you are immediately in orchards and hop gardens and the village of Lamberhurst is 2 miles with several pubs and a shop.
  • Wonderful location, very tranquil but also good access to motorways too. Pepperpot Cottage was a lovely place to stay and very comfortable for us. Roz kindly accommodated our dogs and we were very homely with all the necessary amenities to make it a home from home.

  • John was a welcoming and helpful host. Very comfortable accommodation with everything provided for. We will certainly stay again in the future.

  • The stay has been our second at Crampton Cottage. It is a perfect "homebase" if you want to explore Kent by car. Staplehurst has a small supermarket, a decent Indian restaurant etc. Places like Sissinghurst Castle Gardens are nearby. And thanks to our host everything went smooth like last time. Very uncomplicated, indeed! If Kent calls again one day, we would be back a Crampton Cottage for sure.

    David2018-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • You will not be disappointed, lovely couple, great, clean home

    Nicolaus2018-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is clean and neat with all the essentials. Very close to the Kings Head which is a lovely pub serving good food at a reasonable price. The cottage is also very peaceful and we spent 15 completely hassle free nights there. There are beautiful walks around Staplehurst and surrounds and it is ideal for a family stay if you are exploring Kent. John the host was informative and on hand if advice was needed. We would certainly stay there again.

    Dale2018-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • The property is located in the "center" of Staplehurst. This consists of a savings, an Indian restaurant; one, two Chinese restaurants and a pub. John is a very friendly host, who very quickly and reliably respond to questions. Locally nothing was missing. The property is very well equipped and very clean. Have fun in the Crampton Cottage - always a good choice! Best regards Alice

  • John housing perfectly match the photos published on the site. very clean accommodation and great location that allows to discover much of Kent (beautiful region in autumn) John is a person very nice and very helpful, plus it advised us to ballads. • We found Crampton Cottage last minute while look for somewhere to stay over the New Year period and it did not disappoint! Very clean, well looked after, self contained flat. Great for 4 people. the bedrooms and bathroom is upstairs and the living room and kitchen was downstairs. Amazing hot shower and very comfy beds. Kitchen had all the essentials, including a kettle and tea making facilities. Tenterten is worth a visit and isn't far and the village of Staplehurst has everything you need including a butcher. It also has a great independent wine and beer shop near the Spar. The local pub is extremely close. Parking is a bit of a squeeze if you park by the house but if your in a small car you'll be fine, failing that there is always the car park nearby. All in all this was a perfect little cottage to see in the new year with friends.

  • My husband and I stayed at Sarah and John's place for 9 nights. The house itself is stylish and clean. There is a lovely big garden, shared sitting area and kitchen. Guests have their own bathroom. Everything is easy to use and access. We had everything we needed and we were also given a few things for breakfast which was really nice. The location is very good as well. It's only an 8-10 minutes walk into town to shops and restaurants. About 8-10 minutes walk to Maidstone East Station which gets you to London Victoria station in an hour. Maidstone Barracks is about 12-15 minutes walk away. Library about 10 minutes walk away. We will definitely stay here again.

Our space is private and we leave the guests to themselves but are contactable if needed.
  • Compact and cosy cabin. Has everything you might need for a comfortable stay, and although it was a really cold clear winters night, Susan had turned on the heating before I arrived so it was lovely and warm inside.

It's perfectly equipped and enough warm (even tho it was a freezing night). Everything was prefect, clean, everything we needed was there and the check-in and check-out can't be easier. We loved our stay.

The cabin was warm and welcoming on a cold night with a notably comfortable mattress & thoughtful touches like water and orange juice in the fridge + tea, coffee and biscuits available. Lovely hot shower, clean towels and plenty of space to prepare food should we have wanted to. Parked on street outside. Extremely easy check in & out. Thank you Sue & Jon.

Felt a bit strange not to meet the hosts or have any contact when I was staying out the back of their garden! (Did ring the bell but no reply.) Apart from that I had a lovely stay and had everything i needed in one very cosy warm cabin!

  • Superb, warm and comfortable accommodation with lots of thoughtful touches which mean all you need to do is bring yourself! Lovely to hear owls, foxes, pheasants and ducks. A very relaxing place to stay with excellent hospitality provided by Jane.

    Louise2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • A really nice quiet and relaxing little space, in a lovely location. I especially appreciated the little touches (like Christmas Crackers for instance) that made us feel so at home. Very clean, very well organised, very welcoming and everything you could need for a pleasant stay.

    Stephen2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a peaceful four weeks here whilst on granny duty nearby. Jane’s hospitality is friendly and thoughtful but unintrusive and I wanted for nothing. The apartment is very clean and comfortable and the small lakes and extensive land provide a haven for wildlife. This is a great area for a holiday with plenty to see and do.

    Helen2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jane's place over the Bank Holiday weekend. We had our own private building with no disturbance within a gorgeous plot, with plenty of greenery. The accommodation was really clean, bathroom was great and the bed comfortable. Jane was kind enough to replenish fresh stocks of strawberries, cream, butter, milk and fresh juice every morning, and the fresh croissants were delicious. Every interaction was clear, open and friendly, and the bonuses were the use of the full size tennis court, lovely pool and of course playing with their brilliant dog Chip. • The most beautiful place I’ve stayed on air BnB. Such a friendly and wonderful host who added such beautiful touches. A really caring lady who has an outstanding place to stay. Me and my doggies loved it. Every little touch is just perfect. The biggest help is the gate from the kitchen to the living area, it’s so thoughtful means muddy paws can be cleaned before excited dogs explore ! It’s perfect. 100% want to be back

We stayed for 1 night, 2 adults and 2 children, and now looking forward to booking another stay for a longer period. 100% retreat. Accommodation is in perfect condition, stylish with everything you would need for a relaxed time away from home. Communication with Elenor was faultless. Really quick, efficient and we also got a special treat. Thank you very much!

  • Elenor is a great host and very helpful. Her house is very clean and well equiped. She is courteous and helpful. We had our baby and dog staying with us. Elenor made sure we hat a babycot and bowls for the dog. Amazing kitchen and lovely bedroom, the whole cottage is beautiful. The ceiling in the shower is a little low so you can not stand up straight. Parking is available just outside the house.

A cosy, light and spacious traditional oak-framed building with a minstrels' gallery and a full height living area. Standing in seven acres of private grounds, on the path of an ancient but now forgotten travellers' way, Whistlers is surrounded by meadows, orchards and woodland walks.
Help yourself to our gardens, our duckpond, our wishing well and our home-grown fruit and veg. The main house stands close by. It was built in 1470 and has some interesting architectural features which we're always happy to show.
We're a mile from world famous Sissinghurst Castle Gardens and a short drive from the pretty market towns of Cranbrook and Tenterden with its steam railway as well as both Bodiam and Scotney Castles. The beautiful seaside town of Rye is a half-hour drive - with the coastal attractions of Hastings and Camber Sands close by. Hempstead Forest is on our doorstep and Bewl Water with its cycle paths and water sports.

We are pleased to offer our recently refurbished annex with double bedroom, private bathroom and own front door. Oast Cottage is a converted stables attached to the main Oast House dating back to the 1800s. The Oast is set in a conservation area of Boughton Monchelsea which consists of converted farm buildings, listed houses and a 16th Century pub (directly opposite). The area boasts many places to visit (including Leeds Castle), countryside walks, as well as numerous pubs and restaurants.
The space consists of a large double bedroom with king sized bed, tea/coffee making facilities, WiFi, Sky TV with all channels including Netflix, sport and films. A bathroom adjoins the room with bath and power shower. Within the cottage there is fridge, microwave and tableware for guests to use. The annex is on one level with its own front door and an area outside the front of the cottage with a table and chairs, free parking directly outside the cottage is provided.
Boughton Monchelsea lies on a ragstone ridge between the North Downs and the Weald of Kent. The name of the village comes from a corruption of the Norman family name Montchensie and the Anglo Saxon Boc Tun (Beech Tree Settlement). The area is famed for its ragstone which you will with the Cottage and the local area. The stone from the local quarry was used in the building of Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. The house sits in a conservation area with several listed buildings and the Cock Inn (directly opposite) that dates back to the 16th century. The Greensand way footpath passes through Boughton Monchelsea and affords wonderful views of the Kent countryside There are many places of interest nearby including Leeds Castle, Sissinghurst Castle, the picturesque village of Yalding, Hush Heath Vineyards and Estate and the county town of Kent Maidstone. Within a 45 minute drive you can reach the port of Dover and Eurotunnel Shuttle Terminal, Tunbridge Wells, Cranbrook, beaches of Rye and Whitstable and many other places of interest. There are several country pubs and restaurants nearby including The Curious Eatery (less than a mile away), The Bull at Linton (with lovely countryside views) and The Potting Shed. We consider ourselves very lucky to live in an area which has wonderful places to visit and several nice pubs and restaurants.

Slept like a baby on a very comfortable bed. We also came home with a leg of lamb from Acorn farm, just outside Burwash, saw a sign and just drove right in and spoke to the owner.

    Gloria2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • I did not realise that I was Sonnah very first guest. But I found her very friendly 😎she checked me in and showed me around her property. There was plenty of on road parking although it’s a bit of a premium with all the other properties but she has an ace up her sleeve she has a off road drive at the rear of her house. She also offers breakfast albeit cereals and toast tea and coffee. And the use of the kitchen if I decided to cook. I had the sole use of a bathroom as she has on suite in her bedroom. She is a very bubbly lady who enjoys company so sitting chatting and watching her TV in her spacious lounge. I would recommend Sonnah to any traveler visiting Maidenhead or the surrounding area. Thank you Sonnah. ❤️
