We booked Clare’s place as a very last minute escape following the cancellation of our trip to Berlin because of the ongoing Coronavirus situation. We wanted somewhere rural and private as a kind of ‘escape’ from the current situation... and what an escape it was... The location was amazing.... lovely views of the countryside and wildlife... to wake up to chickens and ducks playing in the pond opposite the mill was very cute......you can stay in the mill and see no one if you like, or drive 5 minutes into a lovely quaint town...perfect. The mill is simply stunning....no other words; beautifully finished and furnished... an absolute testament to Clare who project managed the mill’s restoration.. It was spotlessly & professionally cleaned before our arrival, the bath was amazing and the bed ridiculously comfortable. Clare was very generous & kind. The ‘perfect host’. Communication was excellent and all the extra touches on arrival ( I won’t ruin the surprise) made us feel special & welcome. If you don’t stay here, you really are missing out!! In this current climate of uncertainty and anxiety, this is really the perfect escape. We’d love to stay again in the future. Thank you Clare

Clare is a lovely host and really made us feel at home in the mill! It is a beautiful property and well worth a visit.

We had a really amazing stay at the windmill. It’s such a unique building and really nicely done inside. We really enjoyed sitting out on the staging to watch the sunrise, despite the single figure temperatures. Claire is an excellent host! She was really helpful - lending us some bits to clean up our walking boots after encountering a huge bog on our afternoon walk. Highly recommend a visit and we’d definitely be keen to stay again.

What an amazing Windmill and what an amazing location! Clare was also so kind - and even gave us some fresh rhubarb from her garden. She was incredibly helpful and gave us lots of tips for the area. Would recommend this place 150 percent!

We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay at Barbara & Mike's lodge. The lodge is amazing and in a beautiful setting in the countryside. The hot tub is an brilliant added extra. Barbara & Mike are very considerate and welcoming. All of this has made this stay the best one yet!

Lovely Cabin, just perfect to get away from things for a couple of days

I booked this place because I wanted something different for my partners birthday. It did not disappoint the place is beautifully decorated and has everything you need and a hot tub!

Once again we had a fantastic stay at the lodge. On our first night the sky was very clear and we could see many stars from the hot tub and the skylight. Definitely a stand out feature for us. We would highly recommend!

The lodge is absolutely beautiful in every way, especially the sky light to look at the stars at night, the hot tub and the decor. I definitely recommend booking this! Particularly with the lodge being near both countryside and seaside :)

We had a great weekend at The Lodge - Lovely location and The Lodge itself was very cosy and well laid out (we loved the underfloor heating in the cold weather!). Also enjoyed the hot tub !

We had a lovely stay at this very stylish cottage in Bearsted. The house was easy to find and within walking distance of the village. It was thankfully very cosy, which was much appreciated as we visited it on a cold, windy and miserable weekend. The size and layout was perfect for us and our 2 children. The house was extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. The hot tub is a real bonus! Barbara was an excellent host - she was very responsive and sent a very detailed welcome email with lots of useful information in advance of our trip.

My fiancé and I had a lovely relaxing stay here. The place is cute and nicely decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed to do some cooking. The hot tub was the highlight!

We had a great weekend away. Although the weather was bad the hot tub was still available to use. All amenities were great and everything you needed was there.

I fell in love with this place based on the photos and it looked exactly the same in real life, which is always great to see. There were thoughtful touches added to make our stay special and the cottage was absolutely gorgeous both inside and out. The information provided on the local area was really helpful and Barbara & Mike were quick to respond to any questions we had. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone thinking of staying in the area.

A lovely home with lovely hosts! Barbara and Mike communicate very well and provide lovely little details such as a bottle of prosecco on arrival and a follow up message to make sure everything is okay on the first day of the stay. The home and hot tub are extremely well kept and warm and the area is very quaint and friendly. Lots of things to do a short drive away. There are a few pubs/restaurants within 5 minutes walk which are really nice to go to for dinner and a drinks. We are really looking forward to hopefully return again! Thanks for everything Rebecca

This was an amazing cottage full of character which made my friend and I feel at home straightaway! It's cosy and warm, the kitchen utensils are amazing and the style was so unique. There were plenty of walks on our door step and we had dinner at the Oak on the Green which was only a few minutes away. I would highly recommend this place.

A beautiful house, perfect for a special occasion. We hired it for my husbands 40th and it was the ideal choice! Such a fun weekend. I highly recommend staying at The Bull, you won't be disappointed.

Where do I start, I have just returned from this beautiful house. It literally is faultless. From the minute we walked in we were running around exploring and squealing with delight. I had organised a group of ladies for the weekend as a surprise for my sisters 50th.. Everyone commented on how fabulous it was, and you cant always please everyone...but you did!. We had caterers come in on the Saturday night from The Kitchen of Kent (a recommendation from Rob and Debbie) who were amazing, a walk to The hopbine for Sunday lunch, again amazing then back for the rugby in the amazing basement room, where the 2 nights previous we spent most of our time on the karaoke....a huge hit. There is nothing negative to say, the rooms are all beautifully furnished to such a high standard and you can see the thought and effort that has gone into this amazing house. The ladies want a repeat next year.....we will return. So once again thank you Rob and Debbie, you made my sisters weekend one to remember

Superb house with high quality amenities, lovely quirky touches to make it feel special and sparkling clean. We used it for a weekend family get together and everybody (including the ultra-fussy one that always complains) thought it was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend.

The Bull is the perfect spot for business teams or families that want a classic part of British countryside. A beautiful coffee house “The Little Bull” is next door, a wonderful butchers ready for cater for breakfast and a handy mini supermarket/post office opposite. I took my team of 12 and there was plenty of space. We went on a country walk across fields on the bridal path to some traditional pubs and the whole experience felt straight out the film “The Holiday” Would certainly recommend to any large groups. Superb communication the whole way also.

I have just returned from a 3 night stay over new year at the Bull with 15 friends and 2 four legged friends!! This place is beyond amazing. It was so well equipped to a very high standard. The extra touches were amazing and made such a difference. We loved the cellar with comfy sofas and karaoke and our 2 dogs loved the courtyard garden! The kitchen was so well equipped, the dining table perfect and the beds were a dream!! We will definitely be back! Rob and Debbie were both so helpful. Thanks so much to you both!

A lovely cosy and homely property that suited our family gathering perfectly. Everyone was happy, from grandparents to teenagers and babies. The kids loved the space in the cinema room and the communal area allowed us to eat in and spend time together. Communication with Debbie and Rob was swift and really helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We also had a fabulous visit to Bodiam castle. We definitely hope to visit again soon.

Wonderful and unforgettable stay in Debbie's house for my 40th birthday. We stayed there at 14 without stepping on it and everyone was absolutely delighted with the stay. Communication with Rob was very simple, he was very responsive. I can't wait to turn 50!

Alison was a great host and incredibly welcoming and accommodating, even when it was an inconvenience! An amazing house with incredible views and a great pool. We had a hen party here and the cottage was perfectly kitted out with every utensil you could hope for in the kitchens, and TVs all over the place for downtime. Lots of space and didn’t feel crowded at all. Perfect as well as the rooms were all 2 single beds so plenty of privacy. It’s a great location if you want the remote beauty of real English countryside.

We had a great time at Bardown farm. The three cottages were cosy, warm, clean and comfortable, we loved the views and the farm, and the kids loved the open spaces and games room. The middle cottage was big enough for 12 of us to sit and enjoy dinner together. A perfect location for three generations of family to enjoy a weekend away.

We were a party of 14 women celebrating 40th, 50th and 60th birthdays. The location is great with fabulous views over the countryside. We rented the whole barn and each of the 3 cottages have well equipped kitchens and comfortable bedrooms. We loved the visits from the chicken and dogs and enjoyed feeding all our scraps to the pigs. Weather was fab and we enjoyed the use of the outdoor pool which is heated. Took a nice walk around the lake and sunflower field. Alison is a lovely, friendly host who gives you privacy. Would say accommodation better suited for 12 people as sofa beds not very comfy but apart from that it was a fabulous stay.

A hidden gem! We had such a lovely time here, such a beautiful hidden oasis. Lovely and inviting lodge, clean and decorated homely. It was like a home away from home. Would definitely return and didn’t want to leave! The log burner and hot tub were a luxury and everything was so private it felt like it was just the two of us. Wendy was a great host, I asked for breakfast recommendations and whether a late check out was a possibility and Wendy responded quickly and provided us some helpful tips. Our 2nd time staying here and enjoy it every time

My girlfriend and I stayed here as we needed a place close to see family. After looking online we found this great place and at such an amazing price as well. We had a friendly greeting and a tour around the place. Wendy was such a lovely and informative host and made us feel at home. The amenities were outstanding and couldn’t have asked for a cleaner place. Wendy has even gone to the effort of spraying all the door handles especially with this virus going around. The hot tub was such a great touch, even in the cold climate it was very relaxing. Overall we had an amazing stay, a great nights sleep and everything we could have asked for in an air bnb and more. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay around the Medway area and I can’t thank Wendy and Sean enough for such a great stay and being amazing hosts.

The cottage is beautiful with a very private garden - so homely and the touches the hosts add are lovely.

Lovely place to stay, very large light airy living room beautifully decorated, juice/millk/cereal/porridge provided for breakfast which was a nice touch. Everything very clean and instructions for parking and checking in very clear.

We had a great time at The Clock House Annex. The space is very cosy with some lovely touches by host Sabrina. The location is perfect for a long walk around Bewl Water.

A really lovely place, I would definitely stay again. Be mindful that the cooking facilities are limited and there isn't a sink in the kitchen area so I would advise brining easy bits to prepare!

A warm welcome awaits you at Julia's place. A large room with a very comfortable double bed. Tea and coffee available in your room ,with wifi to boot. A key is available to come and go. Car parking off street best to reverse in as the road can be busy in the morning. Local shops are close with pubs and restaraunts.

Julia & Ian we’re perfect hosts, welcoming me into their home. Perfect location, a few minutes walk to the train station and parking for my car. The room was light and airy, with a huge bed that promised a good nights sleep (which it certainly did)! Nice to be able to have a hot drink in the morning in the room before launching out on the day and with the bathroom next door all was provided for. Thanks!

This is a super little apartment and so well located in the town centre. Very cosy, comfy and well equipped.

What a beautiful place to stay! Fern was really friendly and has set up the cabin beautifully, with lovely touches inside and out. We were lucky enough to get some March sunshine to enjoy the decking but the interior of the cabin is just as nice to spend time in. Because of the Covid19 isolation order all the local restaurants were closed but cooking our own candle lit steak meal in the cabin was perfect. We will definitely be back in another season to see the lake and woods from another perspective. Thanks Fern!

If you want peace and tranquility this is the perfect place. Ferns log cabin is beautifully appointed - really warm cosy and comfortable. It has beautiful views of the lake and countryside from all aspects. Fern is an excellent communicator and a warm and friendly host. We will definitely be back and thoroughly recommend it to others.

Fern is a great host and the cabin was just as we expected. Very peaceful and calm apart from the occasional goose which I find is part of the charm. If you have a chance to go there, would recommend 100%. We had some lovely walks around the public footpaths in the area, good food and some fun encounters with animals. Thanks again Fern !

The cabin was really amazing, it is so serene and wonderful. You can step out in the morning to a beautiful view and hear nothing but the sound of nature. I planned to ask my girlfriend to marry me on the balcony overlooking the lake but the cabin provided such a lovely setting I ended up just doing it inside. Fern is a lovely host and sets you up nicely on arrival. We went for a lovely walk around the woods on the Saturday that wasn't too taxing and again provided a lovely peaceful setting. I 100 % recommend this to anyone looking for a nice location to escape to, and whilst we didn't travel the local area, it is very well situated for doing so.

This place is very clean. The host tidies the room every day. We also enjoyed our privacy, as there was a separate entrance. I would have loved it even more if I had had a table, 2 chairs, a microwave, and a fridge. It was slightly awkward to close/open the gate. Nonetheless, we are grateful that Melody provided us with simple breakfast the night before. Would come back!

The private room is the guest house of Melody's family home, which I found to be very cosy. The property is on a winding country road. Melody was very thoughtful in her approach to accommodating me and helped me explore Sissinghurst Castle gardens by giving me a lift there as well as advising me on local trails/ walks. I had the pleasure of meeting her sons briefly too. Overall a very good hospitality experience.

Excellent host and quick when replying back to you. The accommodation is very good for either a couple or a few friends. The use of the tennis court is a great addition as well as their very friendly dog.

Mike is a great host- ready to help with anything. The setting is lovely, as are the surrounding towns and villages. Highly recommended!

Great place to escape London for a relaxing break! We even managed a couple of nice long hikes in the surrounding area :)

What a place to stay!! Stylish place, very nice touches like fresh daffodills :) Enjoyed staying at Cabin a lot! Catherine is very nice host, gave us some breakfast essentials. When you lay in the double bed upstairs you can admire stars in the sky, also chest of drawers have decorative knobs :) Towels very very soft, enjoyed every moment of our stay. Would highly recommend!

Stayed over a long weekend for two nights and it was such a relief and stress free experience especially if you come from the city. Easily accessible though a car or taxi would be needed. We went for dinner st the Milk House pub which was terrific less than 10 minutes away driving. We also went to the Hush Heath Vineyard which was an amazing and tasteful experience less than 20 minutes driving. On a clear night you can see the stars laying from the bed due to the sky lights. We decided to cook one of the other nights and the kitchen has everything you could need for doing that! All in all a pleasant stay in the Kent countryside which may surprise you.

A beautiful well cared cabin. Would recommend it to anyone. Very comfortable bed, brilliantly equipped, everything you could ask for. Peaceful too. Catherine and Tom are brilliant hosts.

My second visit, and everything was just as perfect as before. Catherine has done a lovely job of making the place comfortable and welcoming and has added some lovely touches like fresh bread and eggs from her chickens. We love it here, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing break from the madness of daily life.

Fantastic stay in a really beautiful little hideaway. My wife and I were looking for a break away from the busy city life and this was exactly what we needed. The place was really well designed and set up. The hosts were very considerate and welcoming. The location was perfect. We were hoping to walk a lot but it rained a bit while we were there so we stayed in and really enjoyed the cosy feel too.

Absolutely love this place, from the location to the cosy character of house itself topped off with amazing hospitality. Jan and Badger gave the best welcome, meeting me from the train station to make sure I didn’t lost. Once at the house I was immediately offered tea and home made flap jack. The room I stayed in was quiet and spacious with lovely decor. Breakfast was laid out beautifully with lots of choice and they really made me feel at home. Plus the added bonus of badger the dog and his two friendly feline friends. What lovely people, would book again in a heart beat. Thank you!

Wonderful location, very tranquil but also good access to motorways too. Pepperpot Cottage was a lovely place to stay and very comfortable for us. Roz kindly accommodated our dogs and we were very homely with all the necessary amenities to make it a home from home.

An amazing little place to stay

It's a very lovely place to stay. With everything in it you need and even more. Absolutely clean and well furnitured with a love for details. Even the kitchen was so well equipped that I was amazed. I really appreciated the privacy and quietness. It was so wonderful to wake up every morning and the first thing to see are huge trees through the roof windows. I enjoyed my week in this wonderful tiny house very much. Great place to stay and have a rest and relax.

John was a welcoming and helpful host. Very comfortable accommodation with everything provided for. We will certainly stay again in the future.

The stay has been our second at Crampton Cottage. It is a perfect "homebase" if you want to explore Kent by car. Staplehurst has a small supermarket, a decent Indian restaurant etc. Places like Sissinghurst Castle Gardens are nearby. And thanks to our host everything went smooth like last time. Very uncomplicated, indeed! If Kent calls again one day, we would be back a Crampton Cottage for sure.

You will not be disappointed, lovely couple, great, clean home

The cottage is clean and neat with all the essentials. Very close to the Kings Head which is a lovely pub serving good food at a reasonable price. The cottage is also very peaceful and we spent 15 completely hassle free nights there. There are beautiful walks around Staplehurst and surrounds and it is ideal for a family stay if you are exploring Kent. John the host was informative and on hand if advice was needed. We would certainly stay there again.

The property is located in the "center" of Staplehurst. This consists of a savings, an Indian restaurant; one, two Chinese restaurants and a pub. John is a very friendly host, who very quickly and reliably respond to questions. Locally nothing was missing. The property is very well equipped and very clean. John housing perfectly match the photos published on the site. very clean accommodation and great location that allows to discover much of Kent (beautiful region in autumn) John is a person very nice and very helpful, plus it advised us to ballads. We parked our vehicle in the course Advisor rental for 4 people

We found Crampton Cottage last minute while look for somewhere to stay over the New Year period and it did not disappoint! Very clean, well looked after, self contained flat. Great for 4 people. the bedrooms and bathroom is upstairs and the living room and kitchen was downstairs. Amazing hot shower and very comfy beds. Kitchen had all the essentials, including a kettle and tea making facilities. Tenterten is worth a visit and isn't far and the village of Staplehurst has everything you need including a butcher. It also has a great independent wine and beer shop near the Spar. The local pub is extremely close. Parking is a bit of a squeeze if you park by the house but if your in a small car you'll be fine, failing that there is always the car park nearby. All in all this was a perfect little cottage to see in the new year with friends.

A remarkably peaceful location (given the proximity to the centre of Maidstone); very convenient for central Maidstone.

This is much more than I expected-a wonderfully clean and comforting place to stay! Outstanding value and hospitality.

My husband and I stayed at Sarah and John's place for 9 nights. The house itself is stylish and clean. There is a lovely big garden, shared sitting area and kitchen. Guests have their own bathroom. Everything is easy to use and access. We had everything we needed and we were also given a few things for breakfast which was really nice. The location is very good as well. It's only an 8-10 minutes walk into town to shops and restaurants. About 8-10 minutes walk to Maidstone East Station which gets you to London Victoria station in an hour. Maidstone Barracks is about 12-15 minutes walk away. Library about 10 minutes walk away. There is a corner shop at the top of the road. Very convenient. Plenty of good restaurants in town and some nice pubs around the area. Sarah and John are both lovely and welcoming people. We will definitely stay here again.

Sarah's place is beautiful and full of character. Our room was spacious and Sarah left us breakfast for both nights' stay. The area is quiet and we slept for ages uninterrupted! The home is walking distance from town with plenty to see and do! Sarah is very knowledgeable about the area and did everything to make sure we were happy and comfortable. We would definitely stay again, a home from home :)

I will be staying again, can't fault Sarah and her lovely home with one exception, the parking.

The room itself was very nice and clean. There was a TV and a small fridge (big enough for a bottle of water) as well as a kettle and tea making facilities. David and Gill were great hosts and the communication was excellent over the few days I was there. The house is in a beautiful part of the country and there is a lovely pub just down the road. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.

I needed a room for dinner David responded within 1/2 hour.I advised a pub for dinner 5 mins walk very well. Comfortable bed, very quiet, large bathroom.

Compact and cosy cabin. Has everything you might need for a comfortable stay, and although it was a really cold clear winters night, Susan had turned on the heating before I arrived so it was lovely and warm inside.

Susan's little wooden hut is amazing! Even much prettier and cozier than on the pictures. We slept very well, the bed is ultra comfortable. It's perfectly equipped and enough warm (even tho it was a freezing night). Everything was prefect, clean, everything we needed was there and the check-in and check-out can't be easier. We loved our stay.

Perfect for our night’s stay in the Tonbridge area. The cabin was warm and welcoming on a cold night with a notably comfortable mattress & thoughtful touches like water and orange juice in the fridge + tea, coffee and biscuits available. Lovely little self~contained cabin with all ammenities needed. Very clean and a sweet retreat for one night while i was on a nearby weekend course. Felt a bit strange not to meet the hosts or have any contact when I was staying out the back of their garden! (Did ring the bell but no reply.) Apart from that I had a lovely stay and had everything i needed in one very cosy warm cabin!

Superb, warm and comfortable accommodation with lots of thoughtful touches which mean all you need to do is bring yourself! Lovely to hear owls, foxes, pheasants and ducks. A very relaxing place to stay with excellent hospitality provided by Jane.

A really nice quiet and relaxing little space, in a lovely location. I especially appreciated the little touches (like Christmas Crackers for instance) that made us feel so at home. Very clean, very well organised, very welcoming and everything you could need for a pleasant stay.

I spent a peaceful four weeks here whilst on granny duty nearby. Jane’s hospitality is friendly and thoughtful but unintrusive and I wanted for nothing. The apartment is very clean and comfortable and the small lakes and extensive land provide a haven for wildlife. This is a great area for a holiday with plenty to see and do.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jane's place over the Bank Holiday weekend. We had our own private building with no disturbance within a gorgeous plot, with plenty of greenery. The accommodation was really clean, bathroom was great and the bed comfortable. Jane was kind enough to replenish fresh stocks of strawberries, cream, butter, milk and fresh juice every morning, and the fresh croissants were delicious. Every interaction was clear, open and friendly, and the bonuses were the use of the full size tennis court, lovely pool and of course playing with their brilliant dog Chip. Jane’s place is perfect for a short break, she generously provides breakfast which is lovely and the pool and tennis court are great to have on hand. It’s also a lovely spot to explore East Sussex and Kent with plenty of great pubs and things to do. Highly recommended!

A stylish, comfortable and very relaxing retreat set in the beautiful garden surrounds of a lovely country house. Impeccably clean with a wonderful king sized bed and the welcome touches of fresh fruit, croissants and espresso coffee for breakfast. A perfect hideaway in the peaceful Kent countryside.

Elenor is a great host and very helpful. Her house is very clean and well equiped. She is courteous and helpful. We had our baby and dog staying with us. Elenor made sure we hat a babycot and bowls for the dog. Amazing kitchen and lovely bedroom, the whole cottage is beautiful. The ceiling in the shower is a little low so you can not stand up straight. Parking is available just outside the house.

The cottage is in a great location. The pub which is in walking distance and able to see from the cottage windows. Amazing food and drink. Everything that alex suggests is spot on. What a cosy place. We spent a whole afternoon sitting by the fire playing card and board games. A real retreat with the addition of some wonderful local heritage sites to visit. Slept like a baby on a very comfortable bed. We also came home with a leg of lamb from Acorn farm, just outside Burwash, saw a sign and just drove right in and spoke to the owner.

This cottage is quaint and cosy and my family loved being here and thoroughly enjoyed family time next to a cosy fireplace

Lovely and homely

Sonnah and her family are absolutely lovely :) The house is warm and comfortable and my Nonna and I were encouraged to enjoy all the amenities as we wished. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area!

I did not realise that I was Sonnah very first guest. But I found her very friendly 😎she checked me in and showed me around her property. There was plenty of on road parking although it’s a bit of a premium with all the other properties but she has an ace up her sleeve she has a off road drive at the rear of her house. She also offers breakfast albeit cereals and toast tea and coffee. And the use of the kitchen if I decided to cook. I had the sole use of a bathroom as she has on suite in her bedroom. She is a very bubbly lady who enjoys company so sitting chatting and watching her TV in her spacious lounge. I would recommend Sonnah to any traveler visiting Maidenhead or the surrounding area.
