Places to stay in North Lake
Oceanfront cottage in eastern PEI. Sloped walkway to miles of white sandy beach.
  • Amazing views, wonderful beach. Bernadette is a lovely host. We had a great time and saw some amazing sunsets.

  • With the proximity of the north shore beach at your feet this cottage had what we needed. TONS of sea glass for the kids, and a 15 minute drive to Basin Head for great swimming and the excitement of the pier. Bernadette was a great host, if anything was needed she was always available. We would definitely recommend this cottage for anyone looking to enjoy the island experience - thanks again Bernadette !

  • Very pretty quaint little cottage right by the beach. Beautiful little area. Bernadette was very kind and allowed us a late check in and check out since we were travelling from far, all the way from Montreal. The place is pet friendly so we were excited to finally be able to take our dog somewhere where she could run around and be free, and she LOVED it. Only wish the weather was more cooperative!

  • Amazing beach walks Bernadette was very attentive when we needed her every thing you needed

    Penny2018-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this place is flat out amazing, and absolutely gorgeous! Bernadette met us at the cabin and gave us a gracious walk through. This is a perfect place to truly unplug and get away from it all! There is WiFi, but it's pretty spotty; if you can't live without connection this might not be the place for you. We loved the beach - it seems to go on forever, and we only ever saw one other person on it. Highly recommend.

  • Whether you are staying for a short time or a couple weeks this is the cottage to stay at! Brady has gone above and beyond thinking of all the little touches to make your stay effortless. We were pleasantly surprised by everything all the extras for our kids- games, toys, high chair, pack and play, even utensils and plates! They felt completely at home which makes mom and dads trip extra relaxing. Thank you for everything Brady, we hope be back again soon! The Foleys

  • Bothwell Beach House is a great base for a PEI trip. The house is spacious and welcoming with everything you need, and Brady is easy to connect with for any details. We are a family of 4 plus Grammie and we all fit with room to spare and never felt like we were tripping over each other. The house is nestled amongst trees a short walk (or really short drive if you're feeling lazy) to the beach. The short path from the end of the road to the beach is a little steep - no issue for us or the kids although Grammie had to take it slow. Netflix and a pile of games and puzzles for rainy days and when the sun was out the beach is gorgeous. Our kids are 4 and 6 and they just loved wading out in the warm, shallow waves to look for crabs and shells. Nice to enjoy a white sand beach for a change to the prevalent red beaches around the island. And, of course, no shortage of ice cream or fresh fish within a short drive. One local tip we took advantage of was the fish truck guy who sells fresh and frozen fish and shellfish on Tuesdays and Fridays in the parking lot across the road from the park in the middle of the main street through Souris. He's there until around 1pm both days and only takes cash. Also the fresh oysters from the Lobster Shack were a great 'welcome to PEI' app, just BYO shucking knife! Thanks, Brady, for sharing such a great spot on the East coast and being such a generous host.

  • Our family of 5 had a wonderful week at Brady's place. The cottage is beautiful and well decorated with beautiful pictures of the area. Each of my three children had their own bed which they really enjoyed. The screen room was an added bonus to relax in the evening listening to the waves with a glass of wine. Be sure to visit Basin Head Beach and East Coast Paddle Adventures. The kids (and the dad) had a blast jumping off the Basin Head bridge and paddle boarding in the waves. Brady even thought of leaving us a welcoming gift (bottle of wine and delicious homemade cinnamon buns). Definitely a place I would recommend.

  • Brady’s cottage is in a serene and quiet spot with access to the best beach in PEI. The cottage is new, immaculately clean and is tastefully decorated. We had a relaxing stay and would encourage others to stay here!

  • The Bothwell Beach- house provided a fantastic accommodation for our beach vacation in Eastern PEI. It is perfectly setup- we wanted for nothing. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the screen room and listening to the waves. Would recommend this spot to anyone! Thanks

  • This cottage had everything we could have hoped for with thoughtful amenities and extras. It is a beautifully decorated cottage and smartly laid out - easily accommodating up to 9 people. We were also able to host a family event with 30 people one evening. Brady was an eceptional host - responding promptly and checking on our stay. Check-in went very smooth with a thoughtful welcome package. The beach is a bit of a walk but was worth the effort. The drive to town for groceries and supplies was only about 15 mins. There is also a well-stocked store conveniently located about 5 mins from the cottage. Overall, it was a fantastic week long vacation - and the weather was great too! We would certainly this recommend location.

    Gary2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Loved Brady’s place. Great house, perfect size, wonderful location. Brady has thought of everything!

    Stacey2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • WOW. This is the standard to which all PEI airbnbs should aspire. It's immaculately clean, private, check-in and check-out are a breeze, the furnishings are comfortable, the amenities are great, and the decor throughout this lovely cottage -- at every level -- sings a modern, sun-drenched, casual-beach-vibes, specifically PEI-inspired siren song without ever going overboard. The host has clearly put a lot of thought, research, resourcefulness, and love into the whole place. Best parts: 1) in mid-July, hundreds of blooming lupins line the unspoiled country lane leading to the house. Beautiful. 2) I spent a lot of quality time on the screened porch listening to the ocean, completely bug-free, in blissful seclusion. I'm so glad my family got to relax and make memories here. I just got home and miss it already.

Young, rustic cottage seeking companionship to share endless summer nights. Hobbies include watching the sun rise and set, stargazing, bird-watching, and listening to the waves crashing on the shore.
I am a new, two-story house (completed in November 2017) on a 4 acre waterfront lot on the north shore of Prince Edward Island. My first floor includes two open living/game/activity areas with sofabed, a guest suite with two twin beds, and laundry area. There are also two portable beds that can be used for overflow guests on the main floor. The second floor has a living room, dining, room, kitchen and master suite. Both floors have a large deck/balcony and panoramic views of the water. I am nestled in a blueberry field and have beaches on both sides of the property (the closest a 5 min walk, the second a 12-15 min walk). Tania and Cliff love dogs, and so do I! I have a large, fully fenced yard and there are several walking paths on and around my property to entertain your canine companions. I also have bowls, beds and lots of dog blankets too! I do have Wifi and satellite TV, however the beauty of rural landscapes often comes with the frustrations of poor infrastructure. Alas, it is no different here! That said, my hosts have purchased the best available and streaming is possible. There are 3 sets of pictures in my portfolio, beginning with my exterior and interior photos, followed by pictures taken on the property, and finally photos of the beaches north and south of me. Everything seen in the pictures are walking distance from me. If falling asleep to the sounds of crashing waves, stargazing on my upper balcony on a moonless night, lounging on my deck or the beaches below while seabirds and eagles soar by, walking along coastal trails, and just generally enjoying beautiful landscapes sounds like your ideal getaway, then I am definitely the place for you! But enough about me...you may also be wondering about the part of the world in which I live, so I'll answer few questions to help get you started. Please see the section below on my neighborhood!
Where are you located on the Island? I am located North-East approximately an hour and fifteen minutes from the Wood-Islands Ferry terminal and the Charlottetown airport. I am an hour and forty-five minutes from the Confederation Bridge Are there local restaurants and shops in the area? The closest town from me is Souris (20 minutes away), and you can find all your amenities there (grocery, pharmacy, vet, restaurants, liquor store, coffee shops, etc). Or you can stock up in Charlottetown on your way through...I am a little over an hour away from the “Big City”. What kind of attractions/activities are in the area? Souris is a quaint town that has a variety of festivals throughout the summer months. It also has a lovely waterfront area, boardwalks, restaurants, and shops. The ferry for the Madelaine Islands also departs from Souris, if you are interested in exploring this beautiful gem. For the hiking and cycling enthusiasts, the Confederation trail is approximately 5-7 minutes away by vehicle. There are also two provincial parks in the area. Red Point Provincial Park is10 minutes away. In St. Peters (45 minutes away), Greenwich Provincial park has lovely trails and a stunning boardwalk. If visiting quaint coastal towns is your thing, I am also nestled between two quaint fishing villages: Naufrage and North Lake. Rollo Bay, Bay of Fortune, and East Point also boast beautiful coastal landscapes. And if you would like to get out on the water, charters for deep sea fishing can be found 15 minutes away. When is the best time to visit me? It depends on what your interests are! June starts getting warm, and the wildlife is very active. July and August are generally warmer (for the sunbathers and beach bums). Mid-August is when the blueberries are ready and you might see some locals helping themselves in the fields behind me. September usually starts to cool off around mid-month and the fall blooms are in full swing. Blueberries can still be found the first two weeks of September most years. Winds are usually higher in the fall due to tropical storm activity in the South, so you'll get bigger waves more consistently. And of course if you hate the heat like Tania does, fall is the best weather for exploring the trails and beaches!
  • This place is a paradise for doggos.

    Tanya2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is paradise! Beautifully located perched above the ocean, you get ocean views from every single window in the home. It’s super private down a long lane way. The huge decks are the perfect place to have morning coffee. Everything was immaculate and the home was well equipped with everything you’d need for your stay! It’s a quick drive to town for any grocery needs, and a nice stroll to the beach access where you can collect sea glass. We could not have been happier with our stay and our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!!

  • We spent 3 weeks at Serenity and the name perfectly describes Clifton and Tania's home and the surrounding landscape. We were so comfortable in the house and are particularly grateful that we could bring our dog with us. The human treats and the dog treats you left for us were a lovely touch! The view and the sounds of the ocean will be missed (already are actually), and we will also miss our daily walk to the beach. On a practical note, check-in was a breeze with a code provided and no need to remember to take a key every time we left to go out. The house was exceptionally clean and well kept, communication with the hosts was easy and always prompt, and the house was well supplied. Serenity is a magical place and we will treasure the memories of our stay. We would highly recommend a visit for anyone who wants to get away from it all and totally relax and unwind.

    Lisa2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • The views we're absolutely stunning. Only a short walk to an almost private beach. There wasn't just 1 but 2 dog beds! Also a bag of treats left for our pup upon check-in. A nice little basket of goodies for us too. The house was sparkling clean and very cozy. The house exceeded our very high expectations. Looking forward to returning in the future.

  • Beautiful house with a beautiful view. Very private and house has everything you need and more!

    Jay2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re searching for a unique oceanfront location with stunning sunrises and sets, beautiful places to walk the beach and a dog friendly home that’s immaculately clean, stay here. You’ll have an unforgettable experience!

    Ann2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Serenity house offered the best views and a great space to unwind. Directions were excellent and made it easy to find. Check-in was a breeze. The bed was extremely comfortable. We enjoyed some DVDs and board games during the stormy weather. Unfortunately the mosquitoes were way too friendly but they didn’t follow us to Souris, Montague or Greenwich. Overall, the best part of this location was the tub overlooking the ocean!

    Chantal2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Clifton and Tania's home in Preist Pond, PEI was beautiful! Every night we had a beautiful sunset and amazing views from the top deck. The location was perfect for a restful and adventurous vacation on PEI. I loved being able to bring my dog and enjoy the amazing beaches that were just minutes away via the trails. The house was super comfortable and relaxing to stay in. The panoramic views from the house, the sounds of waves crashing, and the quiet/off the beaten path location made our stay very relaxing. I am already thinking of when I would love to go back someday! Thank you.

Cute cottage on a large private lot near Basin Head Beach. Totally renovated. Features include screened-in dining room, new beds, outdoor shower, hardwood floors, deck, tv.
Rent the cottage by itself or for bigger groups there is a 3 bedroom home on the same property also for rent for larger groups or multiple families
  • Kelly’s cottage was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. The cottage was quaint, clean, well set up and provided a perfect “home base” for exploring the island. We loved it.

    Kate2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very clean and we all loved it - it was also near some great beaches. Kelly was great with my questions from before I booked until I checked out - recommend this location and Kelly.

    Angila2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly's cottage is very charming and equally so are the green surroundings. The cottage was clean upon arrival, check-in was easy, and the decor was simply perfect for a nice PEI vacation (wood and pops of colour inside)! Kids enjoyed running around the grassy and wooded surroundings and making fires. The cottage was comfortable for a family of 4. Kelly was very friendly and quick to respond. The nearby town of Souris (10 min.) had all of the amenities one family would need (food, liquor store, etc.) and our favourite beach - Basin Head - was literally a 3 min. drive away. We would definitely recommend this cottage and hope that we may return soon.

Private country house near some of PEI's most incredible beaches. Beautifully appointed and recently renovated home, with all the amenities included. Gorgeous grounds, private from the road. Other features include screened in dining room, outdoor fire pit. Great place for family vacations. 2 minute drive to Basin Head Beach (15 minute walk) 10 minute drive to East Point Lighthouse, Souris (closest town), North Lake (Tuna capital of the world)
  • We love this place! The beds are comfortable, the space is clean, charming and totally updated. If you love to cook and bake then you’ll LOVE the kitchen which is fully stocked with every pot, pan and utensil you can think of! There aren’t a ton of restaurants in the area so cooking at home is a good way to go. It’s nestled in a woody area which affords a good amount of privacy and it’s minutes away from The beach. 5 of us were more than comfortable. Highly recommend!

    Kate2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect!! Just wonderful! Don’t hesitate to stay here - the home is spotless and filled with all you need and more!!

  • Kelly's home is charming, clean, and wonderfully located. It's the perfect place to enjoy the quiet and calm of Prince Edward Island! My cousins and I rented the house for a family trip and the screened in porch, grill, and outdoor fire pit were awesome for hanging out with a large group. Kelly was communicative and helpful. I highly recommend her place!

    Emily2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • First of all I just want to say how sweet your property was. The location is perfect! Pull out of your driveway and turn left for a 60 second drive to Basin Head or turn right for a 60 second drive to Red Point Provincial Park! From the minute we pulled in the driveway we had a wonderful and relaxed feeling. Such a great setting, all nestled in there the way it is. The fire pit in the front yard was really nice too and had a great time making s'mores with the kids. Your cottage is fantastic. You have done a great job decorating it mixing modern, with farmhouse and even a touch of glam! The bathroom is new, large and very beautiful! Love the soaker tub! The cottage is very well stocked with all the conveniences of home. Loads of dishes, pots, pans, cutlery etc. We were very impressed. The bedrooms are all sweet, nicely decorated and a good size. We also loved the fact that there is a screen in porch so you can still be outside in the evening. Hats off to your cleaner(s) and caretaker(s) as it was in great shape and extremely clean when we arrived. I would definitely rent this cottage again and highly recommend Red Barn Cottages to anyone looking rent in the Red Point area!

The Red Schoolhouse is located in North Lake, on the north shore of beautiful Eastern PEI . A completely renovated, authentic one room schoolhouse with high end finishes and attention to detail. The large open concept, one room retreat blends original features with modern amenities. Walking distance to white sand beach and charming North Lake Harbour. Spectacular view and privacy. A Four Star Canada Select property.Ideal for a couples retreat but suitable for a family vacation.
This was a diamond in the rough with a great history. We saw the potential and were excited to preserve a part of the past. There is a WOW factor when you walk through the doors of this unassuming little schoolhouse! The contractor, attended school here as did most local residents . It was used for years as a community center, once the school closed ,so many hands worked to keep this building alive.Once we purchased the property it became very important to keep the one room concept as an homage to an earler time.People often describe this property as therapetic which makes us feel that we got it right. We invite you to join us for a memorable and unique vacation experience
Your are a brief walk away from North Lake Harbour, the "Bluefin Tuna capital of the world" and it's beautiful sandy beach. The schoolhouse is also a short drive to local destinations including Basin Head Provincial Park and the East Point Lighthouse.
  • This beautifully devoted old school house was prefect for our family (included 2 kids under 5 yrs old). The beach was incredible. The space was clean and we had everything we needed. Recommended!

    Daniel2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a comfortable, stylish space in a gorgeous setting. Great for bike riding, beach combing, swimming, and yummy seafood. Celia is a responsive, friendly host. Check in was super easy. Hope to return!

    Victoria2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • My sisters and I loved our stay at the schoolhouse, and would recommend this beautiful, peaceful spot to any visitors to this part of the Island. We have family ties to the area, so North Lake was already a special spot for us. Accommodations were clean and open and very nicely decorated. The views north towards the ocean were spectacular to wake up to (and exciting during a storm), and the easy access to the isolated beach and North Lake harbour were a fantastic bonus. It was more spacious than we expected based on the pictures. The house has a fully-equipped kitchen and additional helpful amenities (plenty of towels, lots of seating space, lawn chairs, washer and dryer). Although it is right off the road, there is a deck and well-maintained yard in the back that are sufficiently set back from any car traffic. Our four-year-old cousin stopped by and had a great time playing soccer in the yard. Celia was impressively responsive and showed a genuine interest in ensuring we had a great stay. Bring some bug spray (they were the only neighbours we encountered), but prepare to be delighted by your stay at the red schoolhouse!

    Alicia2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved everything about the Schoolhouse! It was sparkling clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a relaxing week at the beach. Checkin was easy and efficient and Celia was always responsive. My husband and I agreed it was our best air bnb experience to date and we would absolutely stay here again!

    Quincey2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Just back from a week in PEI, this little schoolhouse will forever hold a place in my heart. Private, quiet and just perfect with everything you need for a peaceful vacation. My husband remarked that this is our best vacation rental yet, it was exactly what we needed. We were traveling with a small child and appreciated the laundry, full kitchen, and family-friendly DVDs, books and toys. A private beach can be accessed through a neighbors property (walking over the dunes was a worthwhile adventure) or via a short drive to a neighboring fishing village. We loved watching wildlife and the sunset from the windows of the schoolhouse or traveling to the nearby train museum, east end lighthouse or to the park in Souris for Lobster, Ice Cream and a splash pad. Note there was a tonne of mosquitos this year in PEI, so bring along some bug spray. This place is absolute perfection, and we made so many happy memories. Looking forward to returning again soon.

    Jennifer2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • so many beautiful extras in the house. Everything you could ask for with an amaxing view. short walk to a gorgeous private beach. We will return again

    Lisa2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our family loved our time in this old school house! The serene, private location was ideal for relaxing and taking in PEI's beauty. Groceries, coffee and restaurants are just a quick 15 min drive into Souris and the school house is close to the amazing Basin Head Beach. Overall a wonderful experience, complete with rabbit, fox and many shore bird sightings! We would stay here again for sure!

  • Everything was as advertised. Place is very nice with all the amenities. Lovely back deck overlooking pond and dunes. Short walk to absolutely huge private beach though very friendly neighbours property. This east side of the island is quiet and peaceful! The lighthouse down the road at the eastern tip of the island was a great spot to go after dinner and arch seals. We’d definitely go back! Celia as excellent to deal with from booking until checking out at end of trip.

If you like to go camping but can't do the" Tent Thing" anymore and would rather sleep on a comfortable mattress, this may be the option for you. You have access to all of the campground facilities, pool, washrooms, fire pit and water access on campsite. You can also rent bedding at $10/ bed to be paid on arrival. Comfortable, clean and cozy. Friendly staff. Nice location. Close to beaches, lighthouses and good places to eat. Good fishing as well. I can provide a guided fly fishing experience on request.
Bunkin' at the Lake is located on the North Shore of eastern Prince Edward Island. About a 20 minute drive from Souris. • This was a great alternative to renting! The bunkhouse was clean well designed and the location was gorgeous! The campground has very clean washrooms and the service was great!

  • Thanks for the great stay, Cameron. We enjoyed North Lake Harbour and the Eastern Island life very much. We were grateful to Tanya for her helpful attitude, and great helpful hints on where to visit. One thing we noted, we were impressed by the commitment to environmental impact shown by campground staff. In the morning, I could see the staff our resorting the recycling that campers misplaced. We were lucky to be there at the same time as some travelling musicians so we had an extra treat of nightime campfire music. We loved hand digging clams for fun in the tide flats on the lake, visiting the light house, heading to the Community Centre for live music, cooking some seafood in the campground, and of course the beaches! The beaches! Totally recommend, and hope to come back again.

Enjoy wandering in the forest, experience peaceful wilderness, or head to the many nearby beaches. With a bit of luck, you might even meet the neighbourhood foxes or catch a glimpse of some jumping fish. The cottage is nestled in nature and we welcome all guests to come and indulge in the magical place.
Access to some of the most undisturbed, beautiful, and private beaches in Canada. Peaceful farmlands and forests all around the cottage, a perfect quiet get-away.
  • A warm and welcoming cottage that makes one feel immediately at home. Wonderful quiet location close to town and beaches. Well equipped kitchen, linens and towelling. Nice open space for our group of four. A wonderful experience. Many thanks Iris!

  • This cottage is less than a 10 minute drive to Basin Head, as well as Red Point Provincial Park and beach. We had a great time at the beaches and then relaxing at the quiet cottage at night. The host always responded to our texts right away. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

  • This is a very lovely Cottage.... my family had a great vacation here... we are pretty laid-back people and enjoy the out doors... it's a little out of the way where you can relax... same time you can travel everywhere else... Iris is very helpful an accommodating for everything... we were a little disappointed when we couldn't have a fire but I understood because the bush is so close... there were lots of mosquitoes at the time of our visit.. but I packed lots of mosquito spray.. the water is lovely and I'd advise anyone that has them to bring kayaks or canoes or rent them somewhere... if you have kids you must go to Kings castle and bring a picnic lunch.. this place deserves a lot of time... between there multiple playgrounds and a beautiful beach... they only serve ice cream there.... and it is also free to enter but ice cream is $2 there is however a nice restaurant close by if you don't bring a lunch... we love to fish unfortunately we didn't catch anything there bait is hard to find in the area so bring some if you would like to fish... we did however book a fishing charters that was excellent... couldn't see the whales or dolphins because the water is were rough...

Incredible soft, fine, white-pink and clean sand, desert place, only 2 minutes by car. Linda answers very fast, give every information needed plus is very sweet! • Red Point Beach House is a beautiful home away from home located just minutes away from a gorgeous, quiet beach and a community of welcoming and kind neighbours. My young family and I had a fabulous family vacation and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect and charming beach house to stay. Every amenity we needed was provided for, from ample beach towels, a BBQ, a screened in porch for dinners, fun board games for the kids, a fire pit with swinging benches, marshmallow skewers, pots, pans, nice dishes for adults and worry free kids dishes, not to mention, comfortable beds for a family of 6. Joanne was a great host and got back to me quickly any time I had questions for her. I highly recommend this for a family who wants to enjoy a quiet, peaceful beach vacation together.

Welcome to Fairhaven! This gem of a cottage is nestled on a bluff just a short 3 minute walk to the "singing sands" of Sandy's Beach. Have your morning coffee while gazing out at the beautiful Northumberland Strait. Then spend your day soaking up the sun on a top ranked PEI beach. Cook a classic East Coast Lobster dinner and end the day roasting marshmallows on the open fire pit.
This lovely, bright and clean cottage is located on a tranquil and private property with an unobstructed ocean view. The white sand beach is magnificent, largely secluded and easily accessible. Additional amenities include an outdoor shower, BBQ, patio set, washer, kitchen fridge/freezer, range with oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and griddle. Nearby (9K) you will find the town of Souris for groceries, the PEI liquor store, restaurants, the Magdalen Island ferry, pharmacy, hospital, etc. Also a short distance away is the famous Basin Head public beach, a 9 hole golf course, the Souris and East Point Lighthouses, Tuna and Deep Sea Fishing Expeditions, Kitchen Ceilidhs and incredible kayaking and biking opportunities! Time to both the PEI-NS Ferry and Charlottetown is approximately 70 minutes (83K); time to NB-PEI Confederation Bridge at Borden, PEI is 1 hr 49 minutes (145K) Fairhaven is indeed a little piece of heaven and is the perfect place for you to start your PEI vacation memory! Ranked as PEI's best beach, hidden gem, warmest water. https://www.canadiantraveller.com/6_Beaches_to_Discover_in_Prince_Edward_Island
Although this cottage property is located in a peaceful and private setting, it is also in a convenient and easily accessible location. Nearby are many other cottage, summer home and year round property residents. The beautiful beach is often a gathering spot for these friendly and helpful neighbours! Swimming, kayaking, beach volleyball and of course beachcombing are just a few activities enjoyed there!
  • The place is just as described. It was clean and peaceful. The walk to the beach (which we did every morning) was just a few minutes. Linda’s suggestions for where to visit were helpful. We’d definitely stay here again!

    David2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! This beautiful summer house is perfectly located for a beach vacation and for visiting around the Island. The beach is a real hidden gem and the neighborhood is very quiet. Linda was also very nice, with quick mail replies to our questions. We would go back anytime!

    Mélanie2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Fairhaven was a great place for our family to stay. The cottage has lovely big windows, making it very bright, however the bedrooms had curtains with extra backing allowing us to sleep in past sunrise. You can open the windows and hear the ocean, and have a beautiful sea breeze throughout the cottage. It has a water view and a huge front lawn. It was great, (and safe), for our two children who love soccer and tag. There was also a fire pit on the front lawn which we made use of, there was wood to use and skewers for roasting marshmallows. The beach, which is a 3 minute walk from the cottage was a highlight. The sand really did sing and the water was warm. There were never many people on the beach, and it was fantastic for walking, swimming and building sandcastles. There is an outdoor shower at the cottage which was great for washing off after the beach. The cottage is only 9 km outside Souris. We really enjoyed popping into the town for groceries or wi-fi. Linda was great to communicate with, she answered all my questions and got back to me quickly. Upon arrival there was a package of activity books, markers and crayons for our kids and popsicles in the freezer. The welcome binder was very clear with instructions for the cottage and information about Souris and activities. The cottage had everything you would need and was very well organized with extra bedding, dish clothes, etc. Small things like an extra cooler (in shed), with ice packs in the freezer, as well as reusable water bottles, were available. The portable washer worked well. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend.

  • The location was great the trailer had everything in it that we needed and the view was spectacular Murray met us when we arrived and told us if we needed anything to let him know. Also Basinhead beach is 1 minute down the road and by far the best beach in PEI.

  • An absolutely ideal stay with gracious and welcoming host. Everything was as good or better than expected. More than reasonable rate, excellent communication, charming family. I'm so glad we chose this as our accommodation. Better than any hotel or BnB. Good luck if you're looking to find a better beach than Basin Head. If that's your goal, you might want to try the northeast coast!

  • Everything went great: The communication was very easy and fast, everything was very clean, Murray was very nice and we immediately felt at home

  • My stay at Murray’s was great! Beautiful modern trailer with all the amenities. Spectacular view overlooking the ocean and fields leading to it. The two dogs on property, Cassie and willow were both very lovable and playful , and my girlfriend and I both loved them. The trailer was always stocked with the necessities and the hospitality was second to none. Could not recommend more! Thanks again!

Spectacular location for a fantastic price! This is now a tiny bug -proof, water-proof camper (see photo) and NOT a little yurt. Otherwise - same reviews. Walk the entire Singing Sands Beach in one hour to awesome Basin Head Provincial Park. Live For The Beach!!!!
A glamp-camp--site in the shore woods of The wild and spectacular Northumberland Strait, eastern PEI. Canada. We provide cooking equipment and a roof over your head in our 81/2 x 51/2 mosquito-proof screened trailer. You may bring your own pillows/sleeping bags/blankets. The outdoor primitive tri-potty is in a private woodsy setting. Stay warm with our campfire wood, and make yourselves at home in our totally equipped cooking-hut (camp stove and fuel included) . It is a rudimentary kitchen with fuels for light and cooking. 5 Gallon water reserve filled at an outdoor spigot. The trailer platform is outfitted with a full size double thick and very cushy sleeping pad. Screens are provided to keep bugs out. Comfortable for a night or two. Closeby is a short path to the beautiful beach where you may have fires at anytime. Privy is a seat over a hole with privacy curtain down a private path in the woods; dirt and shovel to fill in. Not for the faint of heart. More fun and private than a campground!
This is a land of farmers and fisherman. In fact, The Campsite sits not far from a PEI potato field. The ferry to the Magdaleine Islands passes a few times a day within view of the campsite's shore. A small country store with limited food items is 1/2 mile across the fields, 1+mile by car. The East Point Lighthouse is just up the road. From your campsite, walk to Basin Head or paddle to South Lake.
  • Bruce and Melissa's spot is on one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen! You can walk for hours and hours alongside the dunes in either direction and never see another soul. They let us borrow their double kayak and canoe and we paddled around South Lake, and the yurt and its outdoor kitchen have everything you need. Bruce and Melissa were so wonderful and welcoming and gave us several great tips as to the other great beaches in that part of PEI that we would never have otherwise known about. Would highly recommend this spot to any adventurous person!

    Islay2018-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a little place of peace for me in a hectic journey. So great to be able to see millions of stars and the warm breezes flowing through the grasses surrounding the yurt were a perfect lullaby. The very local beach access nearby is wonderful as it is not a highly trafficked spot. You should be self sufficient in terms of using a cook stove etc and camping style toilet etc. For those of us who yearn for the luxury of simplicity this is your haven.

    Jessica2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible value (if you don't mind roughing it a bit). Walking distance to a secluded beach. Surprisingly comfy bed. Bring bug spray!

    Adam2018-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I stayed in Bruce's yurt for a night... and I wished we could have stayed longer! Located close to Basin Head Provincial Park and Souris, there was plenty to explore. The outdoor kitchen has everything you need and the yurt was cozy. We were pleasantly surprised to have electricity to plug in our phones. Bruce and Melissa lent us their kayak and we explored quiet dunes and beaches -- a highlight of our trip! I hope to be back someday soon!

    Julie2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Bruce was lovely and the land is incredible! Amazing beach and dunes, truly stunning, and cute, cozy little yurt. A little piece of heaven!

    Sol2018-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Bru & Melissa are an adorable couple. I came late because I felt sick and drove really slowly, plus I had the chance to see fireworks on the way to come... Still Melissa welcomed me very well. The small yourte is quiete beautiful and I love the place they made to poop. It's an hole on the ground but, you'll see, a very comfortable one ! I was there, looking at the clear sky... A very good moment ( 😉 ) At the morning, Melissa woke me up ... 'cause once a year, they put Roundup or whatever on the field next to us. Because the "wall" of the yourte are thin, she propose me to come in their bigger yourte. She also propose me to refund me... It wasn't their fault, of course ! But she did refund me (!) I think she is very kind and honest. As I was awake, I chose to move and see the sunrise and finally continued my way. We kept in touch and she gave me so many good recommendations. So I do for her and her husband. If you come to this place, please note that it's a place where you'll be close to nature. You don't have to be afraid of spiders or making poo in a hole. If it's ok for you, you'll have a fantastic night.

  • Billy and Lori are very friendly people and we really enjoyed chatting with them. They gave us great recommendations on what to see in the area and where to go for supper. The appartment is huge and has one of the best bathrooms we have seen on our travels in Canada. Although technically a basement it really does not feel like one, because there is so much light coming in. We highly recommend this unit to everyone planning to stay on PEI!

  • Billy and Lori, thank you for having us and for your wonderful hospitality. The house is in a great location close to the beaches and a couple of the best restaurants around. The house has a private entrance and a parking at the back side and it looks exactly like the pictures with a lot of attention to smaller details to make life easier for the person renting out. They had coffee, tea, bagels, and fruits for grabbing on the go. Extremely pleasant experience with the hosts and their place.

  • Billy and Lori's place was perfect for us for the purpose of our visit - to visit with friends 4 minutes away. The living area was so spacious, bathroom and bedroom were cozy and tastefully done with all the toiletries needs (shampoo, conditioner, cream, soap, etc). The shower had a light in it which felt nice bright and warm. I loved the ceiling fan in the bedroom! The living area was fun looking and had character - for those who are guitar or sports fans! Nice TV watching area. The "food" table was clean with a toaster, microwave and utensils tastefully stocked. It's not a place to cook, but we knew that already. Billy and Lori were great with their communication before and during our visit. They met us everyday for a few minutes to check in on our needs and chat about our day plans! Our hosts were so considerate to leave bagels, fruits, water and milk in the fridge. It was a very comfortable and pleasant stay and will definitely return when we come back to Souris.

  • Practically on the beach. Great views. Loved watching and walking around the harbour right beside you. House has everything you would need - fully equipped kitchen, beach stuff, 2 full bathrooms is nice when you have lots of people! VERY quiet area - almost have the beach to yourself. Good sea glass picking!

  • Practically on the beach! Gorgeous views all day! We really enjoyed watching the boats in the harbour next door. Swimming in the ocean. Sea glass picking. Bonfires on the beach. What more could you want? Nice big BBQ. Well equipped kitchen. Two bathrooms. Great place to stay. There are stairs and they are kinda steep but if the dogs can manage them, so can I. Great cafe next door. We will be back.

  • Amazing place and an amazing view. If you’re looking for a great place to get away from it all, this is a the place. Valerie was an exceptional host and we would definitely rent from her again.

    Ryan2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Valerie's home was the last leg of a road trip through the Maritimes. We could not have asked for a better way to end our trip. This is a special part of the world, and Valerie's home is situated in a magical corner of this special place. The beach was extraordinary with fine red sand and few rocks. The water was refreshing. Imagine having your own private place on the ocean....well, this is what we had. We had several long walks on this quiet secluded beach. We woke up early one morning to witness the most beautiful sunrise and we walked on the beach in the evening to witness the most beautiful sunsets. Valerie's home was ideal for our needs. The bedrooms were more than adequate and the kitchen and dining room on the second floor was perfect. Gorgeous views of the ocean and the lake on the other side as well as the fishing harbour only a two minute walk away. The kitchen was well equipped. It seemed like Valerie thought of almost everything one may require for such a stay. We even had a BBQ one night! Minutes from the house, we chartered a fishing and sightseeing boat trip with Captain Jeff. Though it rained, we had the most wonderful time. We saw seals and caught a plethora of mackerel. We loved every moment of our stay and only wish we had a few more days to enjoy this special part of the world.

    Robert2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The beach is fantastic. It's practically private since it does not seem to be used much but it's one of the best beaches we visited. Shallow and sandbars so great for swimming and kids and beautiful soft pink sand. The house was great. The beauty of the upstairs room cannot be captured in pictures. 360 degree views of the ocean and North Lake. Huge kitchen. Lots of room for two families. Valerie was an excellent host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to stay here again.

    Tina2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the cape side beach house was everything we could have wanted. There were seven of us staying in the house and we were very comfortable. We had everything we needed to make meals and relax. Valerie was always available whenever we had any questions. I wish we had a few more days to truly enjoy this place!

This spacious cottage has 2 bedrooms, a den, a large open living - dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. It sits on a large, manicured, view lot facing north west. Helen's Haven offers spectacular sunset views from the living room, deck and yard.
If you like privacy then this is the place for you. Once you turn off Northside Rd. (Hwy 16) at number 8418 and go down the lane way towards the shore you will find Helen's Haven hidden on a beautiful piece of property facing the ocean.
Helen's Haven is less than a 15 minute drive from Souris, where you will find all your shopping needs, there are a few different routes you can take and they are all beautiful. There are a lot of nice beaches close by too; Red Point, Basin Head, Campbell's Cove, Bothwell Beach... and it's also close to North Lake Harbour and the East Point Lighthouse! You will love the east end of Prince Edward Island, there is so much to do there, but if you want to go to Charlottetown it is only an hours drive away.

    Angela2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, amazing view. You won’t be disappointed staying here. Exceeded our expectations by far. Very easy to deal with. Felt like a friend tossed me the keys to their summer home and said enjoy. Very pleased.

  • Helen‘s Haven was a real haven for us: so clean, so quiet, so restful especially if you also enjoy the wildlife: all kinds of birds, hares, squirrels and even the occasional coyote. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars to watch gannets and falcons. We found a very nice beach close by with a good cafe/diner (North Lake Harbor). Helen is a fantastic host and we can recommend her cottage wholeheartedly.

    Ilse2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Helen is a great host. Her place is super clean and set up to make you feel at home. When she knew we were arriving late she left the door unlocked and the lights on for us. It’s a lovely spot!

  • We always enjoy coming here. If you love being near the ocean, beautiful beaches, watching the stars at night, fresh food and sunsets, this is for you. The house has everything you need. Be mindful of the remote location. Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent, and be mindful of maritime weather.

    Robert2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is lovely, quite and secluded cottage with a view of the ocean. It is well equipped and well maintained. It's a good 500 meters walk or drive from the main road and hence you will only see the stars, hear the ocean waves and enjoy the cottage life. The closest grocery store is approximately 12km away so stock up on groceries. Overall it is a great place... I would stay there again..

    Joanna2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here. We were close to so many great beaches. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Beds are super comfy and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need.

  • Kassie and Perry, Your place is absolutely stunning. The little details, including color coded flashlights in the bedroom, the sea glass artwork we discovered in the storage area, etc we felt not only showed great taste but also gave us a sense of welcome and warmth. This was our first airBnB, did not know what to expect, but your place is fabulous. The kitchen had everything we needed and then lot of other things if we ever needed them, bedrooms were beautiful and the door headboard is just great. We all felt - at home.

  • We very much enjoyed our stay. This house had plenty of space for a family of four, very well decorated and comfortable with plenty of light. The kitchen was also well equipped. Privately situated with incredible views. With the beach at 5 minutes drive, it is perfect for families. We definitely recommend it. Anic & Marc and the kids

This recently renovated 100 year old farm house is the perfect rustic and cozy location for your vacation. Located 24 kms from Souris, 14 km from Basin Head Beach and just down the road from North Lake Harbour (Tuna Capital of the World). Enjoy your evening with a BBQ and the view of the windmills over North Lake.
  • Faith and her husband were very hospitable and quick to respond. The area is beautiful with lots of room to run. Keep in mind that the house is over 100 years old so things aren't "new" but it is clean and Faith does her best to make you feel at home.

    Samantha2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a gorgeous old home in a secluded area of PEI with a far view on the ocean through the back and side windows and a view of the Northlake from the front yard. Very pleasant for a morning coffee :). There is a little beach 3 minutes away, North Harbour Lake beach (it took us some time to find it as it's hidden behind the fishermen village) but it is very private and is a nice sandy beach. We would get home from days at the beach and sit next to the firepit. As neighbors are a ways away, there was no concern of disturbing anyone. As for Faith and Denton, they were generous hosts, offering assistance and are very quick to reply to messages. If you are looking for a calm, serene vacation to disconnect from city living and stress, this is a home to consider.

  • We had a great stay in this centenary house. The house is very big, comfortable. There is everything you need in the kitchen, a variety of board games, and game consoles for older kids. The terrain is very large, ideal for children and dogs. The access to the beaches is quite easy and they are beautiful and uncrowded. In the evening, the sunsets are breathtaking, the night the sky is beautiful and starry. You can even see one of the arms of the Milky Way just above the house. There is a fish market at 5 min by car, is not it wonderful!?! Local attractions are interesting, including the Head Pond Park and Naufrage Harbor which must be visited. All people are nice and relaxed. It is a perfect place to spend a peaceful vacation. However, it is necessary to think of making provisions if you do not want to do too many trips by car, because the nearest real grocery store and liquor store are 25 minutes (Souris). There is a convenient store at about 6km, but it is very limited in terms of fresh produce. The only downside is the mosquitoes. Remember to bring repellents if you want to spend a few evenings around the fire. We had a great stay in this centenary house. The house is very big, comfortable. • This cottage was perfect for our family of six as a base to enjoy the sites and beaches of eastern PEI. It is cozy, perfectly clean, and stocked with everything a family might meet. We loved sitting out on the deck with our coffee or a drink and taking in that stunning view. The kids loved the huge front lawn. The hosts are lovely, down to earth people who live right next door.

  • While visiting PEI for a week, we enjoyed a lot of disconnect from devices in a very good way...even with two 15 yr olds and a 20 yr old! The house made a happy, comfortable homebase, and life was good with steady wifi, a/c, and plenty of space to spread out :) I'm still picturing our morning view over the Straight. Our 20 year old son still talks about the stars upon stars in the night sky! It was a wonderful stay. Thank you for making this special property available to visitors of the best part of the Island!

Come and enjoy our luxurious, 710 square foot cottage with paddle boat access to 2 beaches from the backdoor. Experience our perfectly unique world of nature, home, and culture; all defined by a resolute beauty and simplicity of living. The memories prove to be unforgettable. For time is liquid here. Located on the east end of PEI at Singing Sands Beach and South Lake Dunes overlooking The Northumberland Strait.
The yurt includes a full, private bathroom and a small, comfy kitchen with both gas range and Jotul woodstove. The dining, living and sleeping area takes up most of the cottage. Take the paddle boats out to the shore on singing sands, enjoy the sunset on the deck and perhaps take a night out to enjoy local folk music!
A small country gas & grocery store is 1/2 mile away. The town of Souris; groceries, fine dining, and the Isle ferry terminal. The north shore and additionally dramatic shoreline is 15 minutes away.
  • My mom and I spent a week at the yurt for our annual girl's getaway. It was the perfect to rest, recharge, and enjoy nature. The yurt had everything we needed for our stay and was very homey and comfortable. The outdoor space was just spectacular - great breeze all day to keep the bugs away on the deck; beautiful view from all doors, windows, and deck; and an easy drive to get groceries, wine, or find something to do. It was an easy 1 hr 15ish minute drive from Charlottetown. And is about 10-15 minutes outside of Souri (the nearest town with groceries, liquor store, gas, etc). We would LOVE to come back someday! Highly recommended!

    Jessica2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This comfortable and homey yurt is an amazing way to experience the natural beauty of the island. Each window provides a different picturesque view: the potato field, the red river banks and sandbars, the ocean, and the forest. It is a quick walk (or a short paddle) to miles and miles of white sandy beaches. It was great for bird watching as well. My son and I made many special memories here! Melissa and Bruce were absolutely wonderful hosts. We highly recommend this place!

    Amy2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We spent our honeymoon at the yurt and it was perfect. We couldn't have imagined a better place. We loved the seclusion, ocean adventures and coziness of the yurt. So nice to cook meals with all the amenities, enjoy the comfort of the inside, and use of so much fun equipment- bikes, paddle board, kayaks! Highly recommend this spot for people seeking peace and quiet in nature.

Eagles and osprey, up to 20 herons wading in the lake, ducks, more. The working boat harbor is within sight and watching the evening catch come in was fun. Perfect beach/getaway home just minutes from the top rated beach in Canada. Basin head beach, also known for its white singing sand, is completely unique. This old farmhouse has been renovated while keeping many of its original features and would be the perfect vacation home!
This location is unique as it is within walking distance (15minutes) of Basin head provincial park. Basin head has some of the warmest waters in the northern hemisphere. The supervised beach is in a day-use (summer) park that has a play area, food, washroom, shower facilities, and the Basin Head Fisheries Museum. Souris is a beautiful fishing village close to a few provincial parks, including Greenwich National Park. Here you will find unique parabolic dunes towering over white sandy beaches and a floating boardwalk. At the house, we are surrounded by, forests and farmland, and a beach within walking distance. We have three bedrooms located on the top floor, each with a double bed. There is a fully equipped kitchen with stove, fridge and microwave. There are two bathrooms (one with shower/bath, the other with a bath) and two living room areas. Guests will also have access to the washer/dryer, BBQ and fire pit. We cater to guests looking for a quiet retreat surrounded by farm lands, beaches and a fishing village with a beautiful beach just a short drive down the road! It is a great place to relax and enjoy deep-sea fishing, tuna fishing, restaurants, beach and more in the surrounding area. We are 10 km from the town of Souris where you can buy groceries and dine at the local restaurants. We have ample parking and strongly recommend that you have your own vehicle, as there is no bus system in the area.
  • We enjoyed our stay at this charming, spacious farmhouse. The location was private yet close to beaches.

  • Sonia’s Beach House has been a family favorite for a number of visits to Basinhead Beach. We have stayed here before and would come back again. Sonia is a great host with quick responses to questions, easy check-in/out and a clean and comfortable home.

  • We had a lovely stay at Sonia’s house. It was a very quick drive from Basin Head Beach where we spent our days walking the stretch and swimming in the crystal clear water. At night we took advantage of the bbq and fire pit and soaked up the fresh air. Thank goodness for those fans and the cool nights because the days were hot! Sonia was always available if we needed anything and we truly enjoyed our stay. We were lucky to arrive when the cable was installed as the internet was a bit too slow to enjoy Netflix. I would highly recommend stopping here and hope to be back one day to see the beach and island again.

  • This was our second time staying at Sonia’s place for a family vacation. The house is spacious and clean. Sonia went out of her way to have toys and a pack ‘n play for the youngest guest. The house is a 3 minute drive to Basin Head beach. We would stay here again.

  • Excellent host. Excellent house. Excellent location. Access to the best beaches in PEI(Basin Head and Singing Sands), whale watching and deep sea fishing(North Lake), and the lovely town of Souris all within 15 mins. House has laundry, dishwasher, satellite TV and a great play structure. It's in a nice private area as well. Dark enough at night to see the stars and hear the ocean at the same time. The neighbor across the road even brought fresh biscuits(still warm) and jam. Worked great for our family. When we go back to PEI, I hope this place is available. Thanks again Erin and Paul.

  • Erin & Paul’s home is a excellent space for a small group or family. It was clean and comfortable, with an excellent space for cooking our own meals. It’s located within a short driving distance to East Point, Basin Head & Souris.

  • A wonderful clean home with lots of room to relax, cook, and enjoy nature—far far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Erin and Paul could not have been more nicer. Excellent hosts!

  • Great location, my daughter loved seeing the animals from the Farm just in front of the house!

  • The house is in perfect and quite area just a few minutes drive from several beaches. Every feature of the property listed was available and some items were as a bonus. The house has a big plot of land and a small kids playground where our family spent a lot of time with the kids playing while at the same time not worrying about the noise the kids make sometimes. The location of the property was perfect for us as it is around 10-15 minutes away from one of the best and warmest beaches on PEI - Basinhead. Should you wonder whether to pick the house for your next stay, do yourself a favor and book the house until it is still available. This pearl would go booked quite fast. Btw, if you do, please say Hi from us to Erin & Paul ;)
