  • Stephen's place was a great spot for my family vacation. It was super accessible, modern and cozy. It was better in person than in the pictures! We loved that it was dog friendly and went to local trails for walks! I would recommend some sort of memory foam topper for the upstairs beds. Stephen was a kind host and can't wait to return!

    Jade2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen was a great communicator, and the place was very nice and well appointed. We enjoyed the wood stove, DVD collection, and comfortable beds during our winter getaway. Would definitely recommend and we hope to come back in another season!

  • Stephen’s cabin was the perfect winter weekend getaway. The space was warm, inviting and incredibly clean. From snowshoeing on the lake, toasty fires in the wood stove and a visit to Silent Lake Provincial Park to walk some of their beautiful trails, this cabin gave us the relaxing, unplugged weekend we were looking for. Stephen was an excellent host, with thoughtful touches and quick responses, he made this experience one that we’ll definitely repeat.

  • Stephen’s place is absolutely amazing! He thought of everything and anything that’s needed. His home is well equipped with thoughtful touches ranging from a welcome note to a first aid kit! He even had a binder with clear instructions and tips for local hangouts! Overall, his quick responses were impressive and I will definitely head back to Stephen’s cottage in the summer time!

  • Fantastic location, everything was perfect and not to mention stylish, clean and the boardgame collection impressive. Great romantic get away or if your an outdoors person its perfect - I will certainly be coming back thank you Stephen!!!

  • I spent an amazing weekend in this cozy cabin with a group of friends. It was very clean and comfortable on a nice property overlooking the lake. With a wood burning stove in the living room area, as well as heating, we were very warm through the snowstorm. This place is beautiful in the winter, and we hope to come back and stay sometime this summer. Stephen was very helpful before and during our stay, with prompt and thorough responses. Everything was as described, and the cabin had many thoughtful touches and provided everything we could have needed. The cabin sleeps around 6 people, and would work for a family or group of friends. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a cozy and relaxing getaway in nature.

  • The place was absolutely breathtaking and Stephen was an amazing host. He was easy to communicate with and very knowledgeable about the home, property, and area. We didn’t know it was possible to make so many memories in one stay but there was just so many things to do !

    North Kawartha, ON, Canada

The cottage is nestled on the scenic shores of Chandos Lake, one of the cleanest lakes in the Kawartha’s, a mere 2.5 hours northeast of Toronto and 3 hours from Ottawa. Well equipped with modern amenities, you sacrifice nothing. There is a gentle slope to the water’s edge where you’ll find a dock and a great swimming spot with a sandy bottom. There are 2 kayaks, a canoe and a paddleboat available for your use along with the recommended safety equipment.
This cottage is situated on 140 ft of pristine shoreline. Its the best of both worlds. An opportunity to experience the rugged beauty of the North Kawarthas, without sacrificing the comfort of modern amenities. The cottage was recently renovated from the ground up. Check out our Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/annieandmattslakehouse/?hl=en
Surrounded by forest, Chandos Lake is one of the premier lakes of the North Kawartha Region. The lake is large, deep, and clean (it covers 1,387 hectares and has a maximum depth of 157 feet). Chandos is situated between Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park (a canoeist's dream) and Silent Lake Provincials Park, an excellent spot to hike, snowshoe, or cross country ski. With each park only a 15 minute drive away, there are plenty of outdoorsy excursions to fill your time. The lake is situated close to the town of Apsley (a mere 10 minute drive from the cottage). This is where you can pick up groceries, gas, and supplies. The lake also has 3 marinas, a sandy public beach (just 5 minutes down the road), and a free public boat launch.
  • Annie & Matt’s cottage is lovely! What a beautiful spot! We had a great time sledding down the hill to the lake and relaxing in the cottage. We definitely recommend checking out Silent Lake Provincial Park nearby for snowshoeing in winter or hiking in summer. The house itself was more than enough space for our family of four. Sparkling clean with everything you need in the kitchen—we had a great stay. Annie & Matt were very quick to respond and checkin/out was super easy. Highly recommend.

    Jean2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cottage:)

    Kasia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great winter weekend at Annie & Matt’s cottage. The place is the perfect size for 7 people. Very clean and the amenities are fairly new. We did some walking on the frozen lake behind the cottage and even got to watch the sunset too! There were lots of DVD movies to choose from during our downtime. The fireplace is a nice touch and added coziness to the place. We really love the location; secluded enough but also within reasonable distance from local stores/restaurants.

    Theresa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Super nice place! Stayed here with some friends and really enjoyed it. The space was clean, the kitchen was stocked, and the cottage was cozy!

    Shannon2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our group visited Annie & Matt's for a long-weekend trip in February and we had a great time. The place is very comfortable and cozy, and is suitable for groups who want to mix indoor winter activities like board games and movies with outdoor activities at the nearby provincial parks. We would love to visit Annie & Matt's place again!

    Joseph2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We speant a Wintery February weekend here (2 parents, 3 kids, 2 grandparents) and we all had a lovely time. The winter vista from arounf the cottage is absolutely lovely. An absolute winter wonderland. The kids loved the space downstairs, and the adults loved the space upstairs. We'll be back in future winters.

    Benjamin2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Spent the weekend at Annie & Matt’s and had a great time with our family. Would book again : )

    Derrick2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Annie & Matt's place is a beautiful, cozy and clean cottage situated in a picturesque setting. 5 adults were very comfortable in the cottage and we enjoyed the amazing, relaxing view of the lake. The kitchen was stocked with everything that we needed. We didn't mind taking our own sheets and towels. As someone else mentioned, the lower level was cool so a warm sweater/layering is recommended during the winter months. The limited wifi/data was not a problem for us. It snowed all weekend, but we did not have any issues getting out of the driveway and down the road with our truck and friends' all wheel drive SUV. Annie & Matt were great at answering all our questions in a timely fashion. We highly recommend their cottage and hope to stay there again.

The Fox Den is a peaceful year round escape for those looking to put their feet up and enjoy the serenity of cottage livin' with the comforts of a modern home. Ideal place for couples and families with children of all ages. The home is located on Oak Lake which is a 2 hours and 20 minutes drive from Toronto and 3 hours from Ottawa. We welcome all those who treat the space as their own and looking for some peace and quiet (no parties please). Enjoy your stay!
The home is perfect for family gatherings with an open concept kitchen/living space and 4 spacious bedrooms. Kids can cozy up to a Disney classic in the kids room while adults can entertain in the main room. You can easily find something for everyone here!
The town of Havelock is 15 minutes away where you will find a Foodland, Dollar Store and LCBO. For freshly baked doughnuts and pie we recommend taking 20 minutes and heading to Dooher's in Campbellford for an unforgettable baked good experience.
  • A perfect retreat from the city. Quiet, picturesque, and very cozy.

    James2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • As soon as you check into the Foxes Den you feel relaxed and on vacation. The house is beautifully decorated and has everything you could need and the view is absolutely breathtaking. Would definitely stay at Heidi’s place again!!

    Melissa2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We were a group of 8 adults and a baby and were so thrilled with the Fox Den! The photos don't do it justice - especially the size which was absolutely large enough for our group and very comfortable. The wood burning stove fireplace was such a treat and worked beautifully, the view from the cottage is gorgeous, there were all the cooking supplies you could ask for (except no drip coffee machine but we brought our own because we are addicts) and a plethora of clean linen and miscellaneous home needs. We particularly enjoyed the trail loop behind the cottage which follows the road at first but turns into a smaller untraveled path - through the gorgeous forest with mostly no cottages or sounds only lovely views and fresh air. Very easy walking for grandparents and babies alike! Easy to get to but definitely need snow tires and hopefully 4 wheel drive in the winter. Highly highly recommend!!

    Bree2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time! The place is so cozy with amazing views and everything you need. We would have loved to stay longer than just a weekend. Heidi was great and always got back quickly. My husband and I have already talked about booking again.

    Robyn2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was fantastic! It’s pretty close to Toronto but feels rustic once you get there. There are two wings of bedrooms and bathrooms which make it ideal for two families or couples. It was well set up for babies too. We came in the winter and it was very cozy, but the back porch and dock look like they’d be great in the summer.

    Stu2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I came in the winter and the view is awesome. Cozy yet spacious place with everything you need.

    Colin2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We booked the Fox Den for 4 nights to celebrate our parents 40th wedding anniversary. Seven of us (including a newborn!) had the most amazing 4 nights and we all slept comfortably in the various rooms. The cottage is clean, cozy, well-maintained, has everything you need and is on a beautiful lake. In addition to the quality of the cottage, Heidi, the owner, is a true gem. She communicated with us back and forth many times in preparation for our stay. We had lots of questions about the thickness of the ice, check-in time, things to do in the area etc., and Heidi always responded very quickly. She even messaged her Facebook group to help get some of the answers to our questions about ice fishing! The part that really amazed us happened on our last day as we were leaving. The evening before, there was a bad ice storm in the area. Heidi texted us in the morning to tell us that the roads had not been salted/sanded and we better wait it out (past our check-out time) until the roads were safe. We (very stupidly!) did not listen to her and one of our three cars slid right off the road into a ditch. Luckily no one was hurt, and Heidi, helping from afar, jumped into action to help us. She called lots of neighbours, eventually had the roads sanded, and a very kind friend with a tractor pulled the car out of the ditch. Since the whole ordeal took a while, she even let our parents stay an extra night while they waited for the roads to clear. Although she has never met us, it was clear that she genuinely cared for our safety and not just the overall quality of our stay. Thank you Heidi for everything! You are truly a mensch and we hope to come back to the Fox Den one day.

  • This cottage was much better than expected, the space is well thought and the living room/kitchen area really do have the Fox Den feel. The cottage was well supplied with everything. Would highly recommend this place!

Her property is in a quiet and serene place just a few minutes off the lake. We loved watching the humming birds feed while sipping our morning tea! Had a great time. :)

  • This space was amazing! Cute little weekend getaway was so far beyond our expectations. The property is stunning, especially in the fall, with beautiful forest trail. The space itself is charming with wood stove and welcoming atmosphere. So much to see and explore on the property! Wifi/ network isn’t the greatest so it really allows you to connect with nature and take a step back from the busy day to day life. Thank you for such a great little get away!

    Cynthia2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Would definitely stay here again. Huge space, two fireplaces. Tons of hiking to be done. We were able to bring our pup so will be back to do some more adventuring of the property in the future.

    Madison2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a beautiful spot to get away and relax. The trails are great, the cottage is neat and fairly clean with lots of space and amenities. It was very private and just the place we were looking for.

  • A perfect weekend getaway in the Canadian fall forest! Very spacious room for everyone to stay and more. The wifi was spotty for the stay, but we were too busy enjoying nature to truly be affected.

    Caitlin2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay very much, definitely recommend.

    Alex2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • The residence was very roomy! Perfect for a large group of people. The hosts did a great job of keeping things clean when we got there. The grill was a bit small,so we brought one with us (didn't end up using it). The WiFi was a little spotty, but that's to be expected given the location. I'd definitely go here again!

We invite you to enjoy this unique glamping/cabin experience, a place to relax, simplify and recharge. Made of 80% upcycled materials, this one-room cabin has modern touches making you feel right at home: bed, small sitting area, and dining table. The covered porch has an outdoor kitchenette and chairs to lounge. Off the porch is a fire pit, then follow the path to a clean and airy outhouse. With your own dock, you can swim, canoe, and take in both a sunrise and sunset; absolute perfection.
PLEASE READ *IMPORTANT* INFO: Below, we have worked to give you the clearest picture of what to expect from the space and your stay. Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us :) The Bunkie neighbours our cottage, the only two places on the island, but enjoys its own private setting facing the lake. We each have our own private docks on different sides of the island too. There is a common space between, and behind, the Bunkie and our cottage, where you'll find a badminton net, that you are free to use :) As there really isn't anywhere to walk on the island, the dock in front of the Bunkie is for your use and offers the freedom to travel by water. A canoe is provided with life jackets and safety kit. This beautiful lake has many islands and lots of nooks and crannies to explore (always travel with a phone/GPS). You may want to consider bringing with you a SUP board for some extra fun, or a floating water toy! Water toys are available to rent in Lakefield, the nearest town, at Cottage Toys. A short paddle away you'll find two short walking trails (map provided). It is recommended that you bring your phone/GPS and stay on the well-marked path, as you will be surrounded by miles and miles of crown land. On weekends we will be sharing the island with you. Our back deck and bbq can be in earshot of your Bunkie depending on wind, etc. We aren't rowdy partiers but occasionally we have friends up. We will let you know :) Our fire pit is on the other side of the island and noise can't be heard from this area of the island. Mid-week the lake is at its quietest, and you will most likely have the whole island to yourself. Sometimes we come up mid-week to enjoy an evening at the lake, but we'll give you a heads up. Respecting your privacy is our top priority. Yet we also love meeting new people and open to sharing a drink should the timing work for everyone. Please note, we have a dog, Daisy, who is friendly and easy-going. If a dog is a deal-breaker for you, contact us before booking and we may be able to arrange a no-dog stay for you. Otherwise, due to the island experience, when we are on the island, we can't keep her from popping over to meet you. We request that our guests be adults and that only 2 occupants visit at one time. If a parent and older child would like to stay, contact us and let us know. THE AREA: The Bunkie is located on an island at the end of a bay with lots of privacy. To the East, the island is surrounded by crown land and to the West, and one diagonally across from the Bunkie, we have a sprinkling of friendly cottagers'. It is important to note that peak seasons can bring the odd speed boat going for a zip around the lake, it is cottage country after all. You’ll also see people drifting by enjoying the fishing. GETTING THERE: Parking is at Stony Point Marina (easy to find on Google Maps), parking is $10/day, payable to the Marina. Options getting to and from the Island: Water Taxi: We pick you up and drop you off at both ends of your stay. It's about a 10min boat ride. Canoe: Bring your own canoe and paddle in, it’s about 45 min at a relaxed pace. Boat: Bring your own boat. Note: this lake is very rocky and not always marked. Give plenty of space around markers, travel with care. Please respect clean boat etiquette, to avoid bringing any unwanted marina life into the lake. If all of this sounds like something you would enjoy, we look forward to hearing from you and sharing this beautiful piece of paradise! Contact us with any questions.
  • Thanks, Krista and Andre! You guys went above and beyond -picking us up at the Marina, having the bunkie nice and cozy for when we got there and being so quick to reply!. We loved our winter getaway!

    Niki2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a memorable trip here! The fall colors were beautiful, and it was the perfect place to spend a long weekend. Watching sunsets like that and sitting under the stars is not something we get to do everyday so it was an amazing experience for us. The outdoor amenities took some getting used too because of the colder temperatures outside and the cooking outside forced us to get a little creative. However, we made it work and had a blast doing it together. Overall, Krista and Andre made this such an easy, relaxing, experience for us. I loved the PDF they sent along with helpful information about the bunkie so we could prepare properly.

    Lily2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Special find! Krista and Andre were very gracious hosts. The bunkie itself is amazing—beautifully located in the serene Kasshabog lake. The cabin is equipped with a comfortable bed, small wood stove with great heat capacity, a mini fridge+ bbq. A highlight for us was exploring the inlets surround the island with the bunkie’s canoe. All that to say, if you are looking for a comfortable, relaxing, and rejuvenating escape, the bunkie is the place to book!

    Jenn2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

  • Had the most incredible weekend up at the bunkie! It has everything you need for a cozy getaway and is fantastic to relax and unwind. The island is tucked away at the end of the lake arm and it is so wonderfully quiet and relaxing. Being able to cook and eat outside with a beautiful lake view was wonderful. Krista & André are fantastic hosts and are incredibly thorough and helpful with everything you need!

Recently built beautiful cottage on picturesque Stoney Lake. We are a retired couple who have decided to rent the self contained ground floor level. Unit equipped with Smart TV, Netflix, internet, pool table, gas fireplace, and barbecue. Fully equipped kitchen. Use of dock, floating raft, canoe, kayak, paddle boat, paddle board and swimming toys. 14 ft motorized boat and fishing equipment for use if renter is licensed. Outdoor fire pit with fire wood. Flexible rental dates available.
Regardless of the time of year, the location and amenities of the rental make this place an ideal getaway from the bustle of the city. The warm water, access to fishing, various water sports and activities provide opportunities for all ages to enjoy their summer months. In the fall, as the water temperature cools down, the bountiful lake guarantees unbeatable fishing opportunities (be prepared for those humongous muskies). The beauty of the changing leaves the stillness of the water is a lovely sight, on and off the local hiking trails. In the winter months, the lake freezes over to accommodate snow-shoeing, ice-fishing, cross-country skiing, and ice skating, as well as nearby snowmobiling trails and local ski resorts. You can finish the day cozied up around a bonfire in the snow or indoor fireplace. In the spring, the warming temperatures move the ice out and bring nature back to life, returning the nightly harmonies of frogs, loons and crickets.
In the heart of the Kawartha Lakes, the rental unit is directly on the lake, with hiking trails, a golf course, and the Petroglyphs Provincial Park a 5 minute ride away. In the immediate area are a variety of restaurants, gift shops, general stores, and a local library. A short drive away is the comfort of the nearby town of Lakefield.
  • Robert and Vilma were very kind and hospitable. We really enjoyed our winter weekend away from the city at their beautiful, picturesque cottage. We also appreciated the little decorative touches around the cottage, the marshmallow for the fire pit, and all of the advice for local activities. We would highly recommend their cottage and we will definitely be coming back in the summer.

  • We stayed at Robert and Vilma's beautiful cottage over New Year's Eve and it was everything we hoped for and more! The e space is well decorated and equipped, sparkling clean, and very quiet. We loved cozying up by the indoor fireplace, watching the snow fall on the lake. Robert and Vilma were great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed, including marshmallows for our bonfire :) We loved our stay and can't wait to come back in the summer time!

  • Thank you so much again for everything Robert & Vilma! All 5 (doggie included) really enjoyed our stay at Stoney Lake. The place was perfectly comfortable and user friendly. The location is beyond ideal. Absolutely beautiful every direction you look. We got to walk on a frozen lake for the first time! Robert helped us get a fire going in the fire pit and we saw had many deer encounters (up close and far!). We enjoyed the proximity to many hiking trails and can’t wait to be back!

  • Robert and Vilma are great hosts and their place is as nice as you could expect for ideal stay by a beautiful landscape. I cannot find a word to describe their hospitality. They do their best to make sure you enjoy your time. The unit is great for families or small group of friends up to 4 ppl (it will be tight for more than that). The amenities include all you need, just bring your clothing and food. The location is also great and the region has lots of things to offer for a short stay, even in winter. Strongly recommended for families!

  • Spent a weekend here as an early winter get away. The accommodations were very clean, newly renovated and very nicely put together. There are nearby trails for hikes and the host was able to quickly point out the local attractions for us. Overall a great experience and really enjoyed our stay.

    Caleb2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Where to begin? If you are fortunate enough to find Robert’s beautiful home available don’t hesitate or you’ll miss out! To call it a rare find is an absolute understatement. From the friendly hospitality to the spotless space, nothing was overlooked. The kitchen was well appointed, the views breathtaking and the windows let in so much natural light! Our entire stay was excellent and we especially loved the pool table and bonus boat ride. We look forward to returning, thank you for a perfect stay!

    Jenny2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Robert and Vilma are very thoughtful and kind hosts. The location is beautiful, great for fishing, hiking, relaxing by the dock. Kid friendly, Robert brought us on the lake for a boat tour, and Vilma baked us a delicious apple cake. It felt like home! We recommend.

    William2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • When I found the Stoney Lake retreat on Airbnb, it almost seemed too good to be true. The lake views from each room were stunning, especially the autumn colours over the lake at sunrise and sunset. We enjoyed the fireplace warming the apartment, an evening campfire and many opportunities to be on the water. Thank you Robert and Vilma for welcoming us and for so being such thoughtful and gracious hosts.

Awesome rustic cottage on Lake Kasshabog in the Kawarthas! There is a two piece indoor restroom and a rustic outdoor shower with an amazing view of the sunrise around the back of the cottage. The dock has enough space to park a boat and there is a launch and a marina directly across the lake. Take full advantage of an adult kayak, a child's kayak, and a stand-up paddle-board available for your use. There is also a Lily pad - which kids LOVE to play on in the water.
Beautiful Clean Water for swimming and fishing. One comment we continue to get is that the quality of the water front is like no other. No weeds along the shore or off the end of the dock which makes it ideal for swimming!! There is a gentle entrance with solid granite perfect for wading for kids or there is 8 feet of water off the end of the dock.
The cottage is located directly across the channel from Stoney Point Marina. The Marina offers grocery staples (bread, milk etc) ICE CREAM, LLBO licence, and a kitchen offering pub fare. There is also a resort on the lake (Blue Mountain Lodge) that offers Fish Fry's on Fridays all summer long. The cottage is about 30 min from Norwood, and Lakefield Ontario for groceries and LCBO/Beer store. The Petroglyphs Provincial Park is about 15 min drive from the cottage and around 5 min from the entrance to the fire route. Another local attraction is the Warsaw Caves conservation area with can provide a full day of fun for the family, we leave head lamps in the cottage if you would like to take them to explore the caves.
  • Lovely cottage on Kasshabog lake. Northern exposure which provides beautiful views for sunrises and sunsets. Great deck space and sitting area overlooking the lake. Marina is directly across the lake and our kids loved paddling over for a treat! Cottage is as described; comfortable beds and plentiful kitchen amenities. Smart TV and wifi were a bonus on cloudy days! Lakefront provides great swimming for all ages. Loved having use of the kayaks, paddleboard and lifejackets. Would definitely recommend Kathryn’s cottage for a family friendly getaway on Kasshabog lake!

There are also canoes, paddleboards...etc. available as well. Overall it was an amazing stay and would definitely come back again!

  • Kelly's property is stunning, the perfect getaway from the busy city life. I booked the Bunkie and stayed there on my first night, but Kelly was kind enough to upgrade me to the Lakeside Lofts as it was empty and I was the only one staying on the property- which was such a treat, my dog and I felt very grateful! The loft was great, warm, spacious and had all the amenities I wasn't anticipating to have (bathroom, kitchen, etc.). The area is great and there are so many things to see if you're a nature lover like me. Many trails, parks, and small towns to explore. I will certainly be back with some friends to enjoy Kelly's property. Thanks again!

Plenty of Blu-Rays and games kept us entertained in the evening or when we needed a break from the sun. Very clean and well-maintained. All in all a great place!

  • Amazing place!! Love the rustic feel of the cottage. Way more was provided for us than we had expected like board games, movies, wood, everything you could need for cooking, extra blankets, and so much more! My boyfriend and I loved learning how to use a wood stove to keep the place warm. The space heaters provided also made a world of difference in keeping the place warm. Even with nearby neighbours, the place felt very private! With its own private beach and all of the trees around the property you wouldn’t even know there are neighbours nearby. This cottage went beyond our expectations and we will 100% be back one day!

    Eleanor2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan's cottage was exactly as advertised. It has all the amenities of a full kitchen and bathroom. Lots of games, toys and books for kids, private beach, wifi, Netflix, very close to Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park. The cottage is very private even though the neighbouring cottages are close by. We used a few space heaters and the wood stove to keep the morning chill away. Will stay longer next time.

  • Richard and Lesleys was a little piece of heaven, especially for dog owners! The fenced in dog run was a blessing and our fur baby enjoyed exploring it! Wood burning fire place was a joy to come into after enjoying a day outside doing winter activities of your choosing, on their big property and wrap around deck. Take a load off in the big beautiful hot tub at the end of the night..that is ever so enjoyable in the winter... under the stars as the snow gently falls around you. All the comforts of home plus more. Richard and Lesley had the home ready and welcoming for our arrival, with Christmas decor and soft music's playing. Then to end the night in the comfyiest-bed-of-life (in the Master bedroom) !! A beautiful place for an engagement. I said Yes!! Hope to come again one day with family and friends!

We love sharing our space with others to enjoy and fall in love with. Cavendish lake is a small lake connected to Catchacoma/Mississauga Lake system. Over looking crown land across the lake, this small but quaint cottage features 3 bedrooms and a 3 piece bathroom. A perfect view to capture early morning sunrises on the large balcony and deep clean weed free swimming off the dock are just some of the benefits of this cottage!
Centrally located to Buckhorn, Bobcaygen and Gooderham, there is a lot to see and do 3 bedroom and a 3 piece bath with shower, toilet and sink Spectacular views Cottage build on a beautiful rock face and features cottage terrain Cottage is heated by a wood stove during the early spring and fall season and guests must be comfortable in using this heat source. There is a steep driveway down to the cottage, having a 4x4 vehicle is needed to get up and down. There is plenty of parking at the top of the hill on property and it’s a short walk down!

  • Wonderful rustic cottage with an amazing view of Lake Cavendish. Newly built dock was top notch. Felt like was at a resort with the use of the paddle boats and kayak. The fire pit on the rock was special feature not to be ignored. Inside the cottage had a laid back feel, perfect for a family.

  • Very clean and accurate to the descriptions and pictures. The views and dock were amazing. The driveway down to the cottage is pretty steep so you may want to park up at the top of the hill. Our water stopped working one of the nights and they were quick to respond and came to fix the problem within the hour. Amazing hosts! Would definitely return.

It was very memorable experience. The cottage is fabulous and can accommodate 8 guests very comfortably. Wifi is great and location is perfect - by the lake.. It is almost as if it is your private lake. They also have a small dock and a paddle boat for our usage. Hosts are a couple - Brenda & Sergio. Brenda manages all communication thru Airbnb and Sergio is at a location to assist if needed (He stays next door) We strongly recommend it to everyone. It is just 2 hrs from Toronto. Especially if you like fishing then you would love the place. It was also very clean.

  • This place is a beautiful cottage getaway. Recently updated kitchen and bathrooms, and beautiful natural wood interiors. We loved the screened in porch in the evenings. It is a spacious place for 8 people. Excellent amenities with the fire pit, bbq, and incredible dock. We had a great time playing games on the lawn along the water! The neighbours are very friendly, and there is a lot of fun activity on the lake with the boating community. The water is a beautiful temperature to jump in! Overall the cottage is easy to find and quickly accessible to stores if needed. Thanks Brenda for a great stay!

  • This was an amazing cottage to stay at. The lake is so warm and beautiful. We went during the week and it was so quiet and peaceful. There are two picnic tables and 4 muskoka chairs that were nice to have. The kitchen was nice and updated and had everything we needed. The sleeping arrangements were nice to and the bathrooms clean! We had an amazing time at this cottage :)

    Kate2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda and Sergio were fantastic hosts! Their cottage exceeding all of our expectations. It is a beautiful spot on the water, with everything you could want in a cottage getaway; large dock with great swimming right off the end, use of a paddleboat, and beautiful property for lounging or partaking in one of the included games! My family particularly loved the ladder toss :) The screened-in porch provided the perfect spot to be protected from the nighttime bugs, but still enable us to be outside enjoying the fresh air. The inside of the cottage was clean and welcoming and provided the traditional cottage experience with luxury a full kitchen for cooking. The marina is also just a short walk away for cottage country swag or an ice cream treat. I highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a cottage country getaway.

  • Great hosts that were responsive and provided some good fishing tips. Great location by the lake and nice ambience. They have a launch of the dock so bring additional kayaks or canoes if that's your thing too.

The house is clean and cozy, beds are comfortable. The house is cute and styled in a really beautiful way, the light was incredible. Also Fiona is super responsive and helpful which we really appreciated :) This place is perfect for family get away.

  • No hesitation recommending this lovely house located on a beautiful stretch of Lake Chandos. Its generous hosts, Fiona & Keith, live close by and pay careful attention to making sure they have happy guests. Their house is meticulously maintained, extremely well equipped and tastefully & comfortably furnished. That also goes for the outdoor areas - large lawn, fire pit, a waterside deck for al fresco dining and a good sized dock well-stocked with kids kayaks and water toys. In short, a paradise for kids and adults.

    Hilary2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Chandos magic together with a luxury dwelling and superb hosts. Unlimited fun and relaxation. Highly recommend!

    Nancy2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Fionna and Keith's beautiful home. It was immaculate and the lakefront was picture perfect. Their location on Chandos Lake was ideal for swimming and we enjoyed countless hours on the dock. They are the perfect hostesses.

    David2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is amazing! There is so much room for friends and family to relax. Fiona and Keith were wonderful hosts. They cleared our recycling before we woke up each morning, refilled the propane tank for the BBQ, checked in to see if we had enough towels, etc. The lake is beautiful for a swim, canoe, boat ride or kayak, and the sunset is amazing. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning someday!

  • We were looking for a quiet weekend in the country and Gerry’s place delivered. The wood fire in the living room was fabulous. It kept the place warm and toasty and added a lovely atmosphere in the evenings. My kids also had a great time out in the pedal boats. We would love to come back in the summer when we could really make the most of what the location offers.

    Anne2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • It is a perfect place...we passed a wonderful weekend. Gerry is a very good person. I recommend this pace.

    Isabelle2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice lake location. Cavendish is a bit smaller than the others, which makes it quite sheltered from the wind and nice for swimming. Canoeing up Bottle Creek into the park is just a single short portage. Or do the circuit around, through the narrows (ca. 12km) for some nice paddling without and portaging.

    Mark2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Gerry is a consummate host and his place is perfect for a family getaway. Sullivan's Retreat is a modest cottage that is very clean, has comfy beds and is fully stocked. The cottage is set under trees and faces East, making for some amazing sunrises and keeping the place cool. Our group spent every day out on the dock using the available boats, swimming in the water or just chilling and watching the white pines and boaters. There is a sandy shallow area at the shore and it was deep enough to jump off the end of the dock. The cottages are close together at the shore, however there is still a lot of privacy and, at least when we were there, neighbours generally kept to themselves. Gerry has thought of everything for this little gem. He was accommodating, responsive and helpful. Really, a perfect host. Thanks for such a wonderful week. A couple of notes: Only Roger's cell service worked in the cottage. Telus didnt work until out on the main road. The hill may be a bit tough without 4x4.

    Niki2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This location has a primo spot along the water. It’s a beautiful small lake with a handful of cottages. But within minutes you can boat out to access the other connected lakes. The neighbours are all really friendly, often waving to each other from their docks or boats. The boat and water amenities are excellent. Two kayaks, two canoes, two paddle boats, lots of water noodles etc. Tons of seating for the dock or around the fire pit. Great spot to watch the sunrise or the stars. The cabin itself is modest but has the essentials and three bedrooms. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, plates etc and coffee machine, water jugs. BBQ outside with extra propane. There are several games and movies for rainy days. Ample parking at the top of the hill. Need 4x4 to get down the hill to the cabin, or be prepared to gun it in your sedan.

    Stephanie2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Gerry is a fantastic host. This cottage has everything you need to enjoy your time! Location is very peaceful and quiet and the cottage was very comfortable! The dock and lake are excellent as well. Highly recommend this cottage!

    Henri2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I loved our stay at Gerry’s place! It’s a lovely cottage on a beautiful lake with everything you could possibly need. We used the paddle boats, canoes and kayaks daily. I would definitely recommend staying at his place.

  • This was a beautiful property right on the water with 3 decks! We had a campfire every night and used the new bbq for suppers. We didn’t have a lot of luck fishing though. We took the canoe out for a few hours Saturday and mostly just caught rays instead of fish. The cottage is decorated so nicely and the bed was very comfortable! Very clean and well stocked kitchen. It was perfect.

    Janelle2019-09-23T00:00:00Z

  • I love everything about this place. The place is so quite and peaceful. Almost everything is included including wifi, kayak and canoe. You can also go fishing so forget to bring your fishing rod. This cottage is perfect for a group of 6 to 8 people. Kids would definitly love this place because toys, books and dvds are available to use. I would say my favourite spot in this cottage is the deck with a perfect lakeview. I've also tried other cottages and this is the best cottage i've been to so far. 😉

  • Truly amazing host as well as a great Cottage. She is so friendly and considerate also super fast response to your message... I highly recommend this to anyone looking to have amazing time without extra headaches this is the place to be! It was my wife's birthday and she left us a great Australian wine and so I take this opportunity to say thank you for that and i hope to rebook your cottage soon.

  • The place is really nice with all the amenities you will need and more (telescope, basketball net, hot tub, bbq, etc). It was also close to the towns such as buckhorn and we spent a day at burleigh falls which was a lot of fun as well. Kimberly gave us clear instructions in a binder for most of the house rules and needs (garbage dump, etc) and provided us with a warm and welcoming home for the long weekend. The wifi is a little slow and spotty, which worked in the end because it helped us disconnect for the weekend. All in all, the stay was wonderful and we would definitely recommend Kimberley's chalet. (Just an FYI though, google maps does not provide an accurate direction to the place so this is where you will need to learn to not rely on technology.)

    Lillian2019-08-05T00:00:00Z

  • Melissa is truly a fabulous hostess. Everything about her home is gorgeous, from the dock to the cottage itself. The view alone is impeccable. Melissa is very thoughtful and was easy to reach before, during, and after our stay. I highly recommend staying with Melissa, her hospitality and her home make the stay worth every penny.

    Amanda2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, comfortable, well-equipped cottage with a great view over beautiful Jack Lake. The descriptions are accurate (including the references to relatively tame wildlife wandering through the yard!) and the communication with the hosts was excellent. The only thing we’d suggest is the addition of wifi. A very good option for anyone from Toronto or Ottawa looking for a cottage getaway.

    Scott2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time staying at Melissa's cottage. We grew up with a family cottage on the lake and it was unfortunately sold about 12 years ago and subsequently torn down. We decided to return to the lake and booked with Melissa. The cottage itself was tastefully decorated and larger than it appeared in the photos. There is a large picture window in the living room which overlooks the lake. Many amenities were provided and even a nice welcome basket! The cottage was very clean which was greatly appreciated. Beautiful modern kitchen and an amazing view. For those not familiar with Jacks Lake, the area is spectacular and a hidden gem in the Kawarthas. The water is clean and clear, swimming conditions off the dock were exactly as described with no weeds and the sunsets are gorgeous. Neighbours are friendly and quiet. The wildlife is very tame due to no hunting allowed, we had the opportunity to feed and pet deer, chipmunks, squirrels and even a groundhog! This place is pretty close to paradise. We would go back in a heartbeat and we hope to stay for a week every summer in the future. Thanks Melissa for making our return to Jacks Lake a memorable and special one that we will cherish for years to come.

    Esther2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa was a great host, stayed in contact throughout our stay, and went out of her way to ensure we had linen and towels provided. The cottage is located on a scenic Jack Lake, with lots of wild life. The picture with deer is not an exaggeration, we had deer around all weekend. Cottage kitchen is newly renovated, with new floors. Highly recommend, and will stay again!

Stunning 4 season waterfront cottage on prestigious Stoney Lake offering 220 feet of shoreline! Great fishing, boating and canoeing. Private quiet setting just 2 hours from Toronto. Fully renovated with open layout, vaulted ceiling, gas fireplace, heated bathroom floor and stocked kitchen. 2 lakeside decks, 20 ft dock, canoe, metal boat and fire pit. Bunkhouse contains life jackets, paddles and lake toys. Private setting with lots of trees - 1 minute boat ride to main part of lake.
Stoney Lakehouse has all the comforts of home including wifi, Netflix, Wii and more. We provide board games, lake toys and a library of novels which we encourage you to enjoy during your stay! We have a wide lot (over 200 ft of shoreline). Our waterfront faces an island and our narrow channel provides great boating and wildlife observation. We do tend to get a lot of weeds at our waterfront so swimming isn't optimal. There is excellent swimming at sandy Quarry Bay Beach about 20 minutes from the cottage and you can take the boat into deeper waters to swim. We are fortunate to have garbage and recycling pick up so guests don't need to worry about their garbage at the end of their stay - simply put it in the bin out front.
If you are looking to explore the area, there are so many options! We are close to the Warsaw Caves, hiking trails, Quarry Bay sandy beach, Burleigh Falls waterfall, Kawartha Adventure Rentals, McCracken's Landing market and restaurant, Petroglyphs Provincial Park, Kawartha Park Marina, and shopping and restaurants in Lakefield, including a 24 hour Foodland grocery store. Conveniently, both Young's Point and the Burleigh Falls Market are just a few minutes' drive away and have general stores with the basics. Young's Point also has a beer and liquor store. The Burleigh Falls Inn and Market is just a 5 minute drive from the cottage - there you will find firewood, groceries and other staples. They also offer The Grill restaurant as well as Kawartha Adventure Rentals for larger lake toys.
  • Tracy’s cottage is beautiful! Communication with Tracy was a breeze, she provides all the information you need ahead of time to prepare for your stay. Once you get there, she also has a binder prepared with details for an easy stay. I really loved all the little details that were taken care of - the check in/out was quick and easy, TV/Wifi/speakers were all labeled for quick setup and use. The cottage had everything you may need for your stay, great selection of books, board games and supplies. The space is very clean and well maintained. We would definitely love to come back!

    Priya2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy's place is in the perfect spot to get away and enjoy the lakes and surrounding area. Everywhere you look is picture perfect. Lots of readily available toys to enjoy the lake, and lots of rental places nearby. Lots of parking and the property is easily accessible. This also might be the cleanest Airbnb we have every stayed at. What you see advertised is what you get and more, and I cant reccomend it more.

  • Great cottage, great location, great host. The cabin sits along a channel/bay connected to spectacular Stony Lake, with lots of granite islands, pine trees (and cottages). Great to explore with the canoe! The cabin itself is newly renovated in a very nice, clean style and with attention to detail (e.g., floor heating in the bathroom, speaker to plug in your phone). • My parents came from France for their first Canadian trip so I thought that it was a good idea to make them know one of the best Canadian way to relax! And I was right! Even for me. What a wonderful place!

  • Tracey is a great host and our stay at the Stoney Lakehouse was amazing. The cottage was sparkly clean and fully stocked with all the amenities. Our group had a toddler so we appreciated the kid toys, the abundance of bath+kitchen towels and all the kitchen utilities. We especially loved their dinner table. Outdoors, we were able to take the boats out in either direction to have it connect to a larger part of the lake for fishing. A most memorable trip for our group and we thank Tracey again for having us.

Our paradise cottage is located on Lower Buckhorn Lake, the perfect get away for both summer and winter. A 5 minute drive from Buckhorn Township where you'll find all your amenities. 4 bedrooms, large kitchen with bay window overlooking the lakefront and 2 bathrooms. Finished basement with 2 bedrooms and media area. Living room has access to enclosed porch and deck. The waterfront includes a dock, boat launch and fire pit. In winter months, access to snowmobile trails and great ice fishing
  • It was a nice spot to go with friends. Central for people to come from east or central ontario. Trish was great to deal with. Couldn't find the fire out but not trish's fault the foot and a half of fresh snow before we got there covered it up. Would look at booking in the summer or next winter. Would recommend it.

  • Trish was a great host - quick to respond and even recommends local spots to see. The cottage is spacious and clean, with all the basic amenities and extras like WiFi, board games, a game room. A boat, canoe & kayaks available for outdoor fun. Great fishing spot too! Definitely recommends this place, perfect for adults and kids.

  • My group and I enjoyed a great weekend at Trish’s cottage. The main level’s space was great and came with all the necessities. The outdoor space was great too - the walkout deck and lots of flat ground for activities.

  • Thank you for an amazing spot that we could call home for a few days. Our family from Scotland loved it, as we all did! The boys loved the boats and the water. We had campfires and barbecues. You supplied everything we needed. The cottage was a great size for the 11 of us! We all had lots of room, and of course the boys all loved the TV! It was wonderful to wake up to such beautiful views and the kitchen was so big. Lots of room for 3 women! Thank you Trish for everything. Even found the beach. Sandy Beach, about 10 min away. Great place to swim!

    Gail2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a small girls weekend at Trish’s cottage and it was truly spectacular. The cottage was beautiful, and was bigger and better laid out than I’d thought from the photos. The outdoor space was exactly what we needed, but beware that the water off the dock isn’t great for swimming. It’s VERY weedy. We brought some floaties after seeing this in another review and it was perfect. It was great to have the kayaks to take out as well! We had to pick up some extra toilet paper and could have used some slightly clearer instructions for garbage (none of the nearby dumps open up until 12, they only accept certain types of bags, and we hadn’t expected to have to separate our recycling) but that may be common knowledge for folks who get to spend more time at lovely cottages like this one:) Trish was super quick to respond whenever I had any questions. We couldn’t have been happier.

  • Authentic cottage with a great location, very good communication with Roberta. We've had a great time at a beautiful lake.

    Stefan2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Roberta is a brilliant host, responsive, helpful, and careful about the smallest details. We had everything we needed provided to us, from towels to fans to extensions cords, and even kayaks! The cottage itself is clean, tastefully decorated and located in the most beautiful area, right next to a stream set among the woods. Will definitely be returning whenever I get a chance. Thanks again Roberta!

  • This cottage is amazing! Beautiful location, friendly neighbours! Roberta is amazing too! If you have question/s, she’s a message away. Overall, it was a good experience staying at her very cute place! I love the kitchen and patio....i love the rooms, washrooms, hey wait...i actually love everything about this place!! Will definitely come back and make more memories!!! :) Thank you Roberta!

    Da2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Went up for Canada day long weekend. Amazing place, exactly what we were looking for. Roberta was very helpful and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. The property was beautiful with many cute touches. Perfect mix between comfort of home and wilderness. We spent our days kayaking, fishing off the dock and siting by the fire. The cottage is relatively close amenities as well as a marina for boat rentals. Made many long lasting memories here!! A few things to note: the parking on premises was a little tight, we had two cars and they fit fine, but any more cars might have been a little difficult. Also be aware that one of the bedrooms is located in a bunkie outside. The tap water was a little murky but was fine to drink. Just a those few things for future guests to be aware of. overall we had an amazing time and absolutely love Roberta’s home. would definitely recommend and miss it already!!! 5 stars!!!!

    Amber2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Roberta's outstanding riverside cottage. We loved the beautiful decor, lots of lovely light and excellent views of the water. This quiet spot is perfect for relaxing and getting away. Great dockside fishing, too; smallmouth bass, rock bass, sunfish, and perch!

    Daniel2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Five of my friends and I stayed at Roberta's place for two nights. The whole experience was great, check-in was smooth, and we had a lot of amenities available to us. There were also a few board games. We did go out on the kayaks a few times and it was fun, you can take them down the water and it opens up to a bigger lake. The internet was very slow, but that was to be expected considering the location it was in and also the fact that we had a lot of people connected. Overall, I would say it was definitely a positive experience and Roberta was quick to reply to any inquiries we had.

Welcome to Jack Lake. Just 2 hours 15 minutes from Toronto and minutes from the town of Apsley, our cottage has everything you need for a perfect summer getaway. It is situated steps from the waterfront with clean, deep swimming right off the dock. There is also a small beach to wade in for the young ones. You can relax on the upper deck, lounge on the lower deck or enjoy sunsets on the dock... and yes, we are pet friendly.
Inside, it has a quintessential cottage feel with lots of wood, big windows overlooking the water and a vaulted ceiling. There are three bedrooms in the main cottage plus a newly renovated bunkie that sleeps 4. Plus the cottage comes with a canoe and a kayak. You can paddle over to the marina which is just across the lake for ice cream. There is a gas BBQ available for your use plus a fire pit for an evening bonfire.
Some of the best fishing in Southern Ontario straight off the dock - bass, trout, walleye and muskee. There is great hiking and golf courses near by. We're just a 5 minute drive from Apsley where there is a grocery store an LCBO and a number of restaurants.
  • Very comfortable cottage with lots of deck/dock space outside and right on the water. After walking out of the back door you’ll be jumping off the dock into the lake in 10 seconds. The dock gets plenty of sunshine during the day with shaded areas on both of the decks. Also the cottage stays cool during the day and night with plenty of fans. A beautiful spot on Jack Lake and close to nearby marinas (5 minutes) and Apsley (7 km).

  • My wife visited Adam's cottage with a couple of her friends and all their kids. The place was amazing for all ages! The kids spent all day the entire week in the water. The inside space was nice and cozy for cuddling up on the couch and watching a movie during the hour or so of rain we had during our stay. The sleeping areas were nice and comfortable, they are all at the back of the cottage so the early morning sun doesn't disturb your sleep too much. The stars at night are SPECTACULAR! We highly recommend Adam's place. We hope we can stay at his place next year!

    Robert2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great rental on a beautiful lakefront. Had the perfect dock for our kids to spend hours jumping off of and a cute bunkie that made it feel like they were at “away camp, but with our parents” Had a great week:)

    Nicole2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Adam's place is a sure winner. The location is superb within steps of the lake right outside the back patio. Upon entering the cottage, you cannot help to be amazed by the breathtaking view of the water. Moreover, there is plenty to do within the property, such as kayaking, canoeing, and just simply lounging on the docks watching as the sun goes down. The nearest town is the quaint town of Apsley where you can buy the necessities before retreating to the cottage. If in search of a nearby big city, Peterborough is just 45 mins away. For a big family cottaging, this is be the place to be. Make sure to bring your sunscreen, repellant and of course, your camera and capture the memories away!

  • AMAZING hospitality! Tracey is very fun to talk to. And her “The Fat Squirrels” is just a FUN place to stay. Definitely over my expectations!

  • Tracey was an amazing and very caring host! She had all of the amenities we needed and more! Her place was incredibly clean and well kempt with beautiful views everywhere you looked. Tracey would even check up on us to make sure everything was okay (the weather was very bad on one of the days during our stay). Amazing conversationalist, very caring, and an amazing host. I would recommend Tracey and the Fat Squirrel to anyone looking for an amazing getaway.

  • My GF and I had an amazing time during our stay at Traceys house. Here are some of our highlights: - Sitting on the balcony watching blue jay's coming close snacking from the bird feeders - Drinking beer, telling stories and having a good time with other guests at a large bondfire that Tracey set up for us - Watching hundereds of busy Squirrels and Chipunks running through the yard and eating out of our hands - Silent Lake is less than 30 mins away and probably one of the most gorgeous places in Ontario - great if you like hiking. Thank you Tracey for this exeptional hospitality. We definitely hope to come back one day!!

    Chris2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying at Tracey's place. She was a wonderful host who helped us whenever we needed so that we could enjoy our time as much as possible. She also knows many great spots nearby where guests can visit and enjoy. There are local beaches, trails to hike as well as lakes where we could canoe that are all very beautiful and worth visiting. The whole house is kept very clean and has a comfortable bed where we slept. Probably the ideal way to enjoy our mornings was at the balcony where we could sit and enjoy a beautiful view with all type of birds and squirrels having breakfast about a couple meters away from us. We also enjoyed sitting around the bonfire and watching the stars as well as grilling on the BBQ. It was a great weekend thanks to Tracey. Hope to go back again soon!

  • The stay at Tracey’s was one of the most beautiful Airbnb-experiences we’ ve had. Tracey was incredibly kind and helpful - at any time of the day or night. She really made an effort to make our stay as pleasant as possible. She gave us helpful hints and even got information for us by phone. Her home is beautifully situated to connect with nature, you can see birds, squirrels and chipmunks everywhere. We enjoyed the starry sky outside and sat comfortably by the campfire Tracey had prepared for us. In the morning there was always a very rich breakfast to help ourselves to. Dear Tracey, thank you very much for these unforgettably beautiful days with you at the „fat squirrel“ and the many stories you shared with us. See you soon hopefully & enjoy Thanksgiving, Laura-Ann and Philipp

My place is close to lakes, village, tranquillity. You’ll love my place because of the location, the people, and the outdoors space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. We have three separate bedrooms that sleep two people in each room. Each room is $69 per night with a one time cleaning fee of $10. A reasonable price considering the many activities here.
  • Perfect place to stay with a lot of kind little touches.

  • Allison's house is a great value. It offers many amenities, and it's nestled on the outskirts of a quaint little town. Allison was an amazing host, and made us feel right at home in her house. Little touches such as freshly baked muffins were just the cherry on top. I would highly recommend staying at her place if you are in the area.

Open concept, cozy country home available during all seasons. Every season offers something wonderful. Explore the almost 8 acres of snow-covered land, warmth of the wood burning stove and relaxing hot tub in the Winter. Summer promises that you will not find a nicer lake for swimming, watching the sunset and paddling around than this. The bright foliage of the fall and crisp walks around the property are not to be missed in the Fall. Spring sounds, fresh blossoms and being out in nature.
Lower level offers Ping Pong Table, Basketball Arcade and wood-burning fire place. Main level has a huge dining table, offering the perfect spot to gather for meals, play board games or just sit around and chat. 3-season room offers tranquility and amazing views of nature.
We are on a very quiet lake with lovely neighbours. There are grocery stores, restaraunts, provincial parks, cross country trails, within a 15 -30 minute drive. The closest towns are Apsley and Coe Hill. For a bit more excitement, head to Bancroft or Bobcaygeon 30 and 45 minute drive respectively.
  • The pictures did not do justice to this home. Spacious light-filled areas for a large family to gather along with smaller rooms for reading or other activities. We very much enjoyed the ping pong table and the hot tub, and snowshoeing around the property. A bonus was the snowmobile trails right next to the property for my daughter and her partner who brought their sleds. The Nordic Ski Club has large well groomed cross country and snowshoe trails and is about 20 minutes away. Three of the younger members of our group tried a skate skiing lesson - it was difficult but a good experience. The kitchen is beautiful, spacious and well-appointed. And the dining room table is a work of art!

  • We rented this place for Thanksgiving long weekend. We were a group of 7 adults and 3 small dogs and we had a great time! The house is beautiful, very spacious and clean. The property is private and well maintained. The fire pit and hot tub were great. The beds were comfortable. There is also another deck on the side of the house with a picnic table. There is a trampoline that would be fun for kids. The balcony and sunroom were nice places to relax and have a cup of coffee. The lake front access is private and the water looked very clean / clear. I liked the gas fireplace upstairs. The washrooms were clean and newly built / renovated. There is central heating, (forced air). The kitchen has a gas stove, dishwasher, and lots of counter space. We made a large Thanksgiving dinner with no issues. I liked the fact that there was no tv, we spent most of our time playing board games, ping pong, or the indoor basketball game. Coe Hill and Apsley are short drives away and have everything you would need. Thanks for hosting us Miles, we would definitely return!

  • We just returned from an amazing weekend at this gem of a place. The house is bright, spacious and the wonderful interior gives you a great ideas of how lovely people Miles and his family must be. We were a larger group with dogs and a baby but the space didn’t feel crowded at any given time. The property is very well maintained and offers lots of space to roam around outside, to enjoy nature or just relax in a hammock or the jacuzzi. The homes in this area are well spread out, so you feel very secluded which was amazing, coming from the city. Oh and not to forget the great fire pit, where we had an amazing bonfire on Saturday. If you are stumbling over this place, don’t hesitate to book. You’ll love it!

    René2019-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was great, the pictures posted don't do it justice. A great place without a lot of traffic, perfect for anyone looking to get away from the city. Miles was awesome, responded super quick to questions and really helpful.

    Calum2019-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Miles' property is gorgeous! It is nestled on the edge of the woods, on the edge of a lake, with lots of indoor and outdoor space. The house is beautiful and has everything you need to enjoy your time away. I am particularly fond of cooking, so a gas stove was a real treat. All top quality appliances also makes for an easy and comfortable stay. My family and I enjoyed the open concept upstairs space; so while the parents cooked, the others played music and games. The rooms are all very comfortable, the games room downstairs (with ping pong and basketball) provided hours of fun. And wonderful x-country trails are a short drive away, beyond a town with all conveniences. Access to the house was easy and the whole long weekend went smoothly. Communication with Miles was also straightforward and punctual. This place is highly recommended. Thanks Miles!

Our rustic decor gives it a modern country feel. Two separate bedrooms make it perfect for couples or small families. We have a large deck that faces out to the beautiful lake, which is an exceptional spot to watch the sunset. We are only a short walk down to the lake and have perfect water conditions for swimming.

  • Taylor was a great host. The stay was wonderful and all questions we had were answered quickly. The cottage was beautiful. It was clean and had a cozy feeling. Although not ideal for small children our 3 year old did love fishing off the dock. We definitely enjoyed our little vacation 😊

  • Beautiful location. Everything you need was there . Convenient to groceries, etc. Good water toys. Nice swimming off the dock and fishing off the dock. Watch for the wildlife, such as the daily swim by of the loon family. Would enjoy returning to this cottage. Thank you.

  • If you're looking for a peaceful cottage tucked away from everything is busy this is the place for you! We stayed for a few days and were so at peace with nature. The cottage was very cute and homey and the lake was an awesome temperature the whole time we were there. We took advantage of the outdoor games and kayak and paddle board and had a blast. Our pup enjoyed swimming right off the yard also!

  • Nicole’s place was nice! Right on the lake and she had so many different things to use in the water! ( paddle boat, canoe). The drive in is a little steep but it was still safe. It was also pet friendly which was great :) thank you !!
