  • Mary is a gracious host, very helpful, and her place is clean. She provided excellent directions, which helped because our phone service was out and we could not find the house. We have Sprint/Verizon. She is very friendly, and accommodating. I would have liked less of cat smell in my room area. But it is understable, because she posted, she has a dog and cat. Which they were very sweet animals. I would recommend her home for it was a great stay and very comfortable.

  • Mary is a kind and helpful host. The location is quiet, beautiful and secluded. Excellent place for a getaway and we hope to stay there again in the future!

  • Amazing place! Mary is an amazing host, knowledgeable in the local area and has great tips about things to do around the region. Although the cabin is slightly secluded, it was exactly what I was looking for; serene and peaceful.

  • A unique and wonderful stay at Mary! THANK YOU !

  • Mary went out of her way to help with navigation (bridge out, so Google GPS useless) to her home and was quite accommodating to our late arrival.

    Terry2018-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was a wonderful host. Excellent communication, extremely helpful, very attentive to our comfort. Highly recommended!

    Lori2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's log house is the perfect cozy getaway. As a group of six friends, we had a great evening on the outdoor patio of the cabin, making dinner on the outdoor grill. The scenery is stunning: the cabin is at the edge of an open area in the woods (with a few other houses in the distance), so we had a clear view of the night sky, and the morning mist rolling over the forest was beautiful. Mary was a welcoming and helpful host: she joined us for dinner, gave us good advice on hiking in the area, and made a large pot of coffee in the morning! Her dog and cat are both very friendly and well-trained. Fully recommend.

    Paradox, NY, United States

This quaint, rustic, one room log cabin was originally built for overflow family during the summer by my father. The cedar logs were cut from our property giving it a truly authentic Adirondack feel. The cabin sleeps 1-3 people. It's located on a large, beautiful piece of property with two main houses, a barn and garage. You are within walking distance to our private swimming hole and beach. There is a horse arena nearby. This is a great location for many attractions in the tourist area.
There is running hot water, electric, toilet, shower, refrigerator, kitchenette, microwave, and Keurig. Towels, flatware, dishes, gas grill. There is also a tv that plays DVDS. We have a trunk with many selections. The bed is a queen bed with a memory foam pillow top mattress. There is no AC, but fans in each window for air flow. There is a fire pit with sitting chairs and an outside hose for cleaning uses and to put fire out. The cabin is located on a big piece of property with 2 other houses, a garage and barn. You will NOT be completely secluded here, but still very much private. Please make sure you understand this before booking! You may see people, you will see horses, and you may see an occasional dirtbike heading into the woods. We occasionally give horseback riding lessons in a nearby arena and have found that our guests love to watch this. We offer kayaks to our guests on a first come, first serve basis. As long as they are down there, you are welcome to use them. The only space shared with anyone is our swimming hole. There are no life guards on duty, please swim at your own risk.
Our cabin is 8 minutes from the village and offers serval restaurants and hiking opportunities. The lake is fun in the summer and fall time is gorgeous here! We are 40 min from Lake George, and an hour from Lake Placid. We are 30 minutes from Keene valley, the famous high peaks, and 20 min from Ticonderoga. We have lived here a long time and know the area very well. If you are looking for something specific, we can help, so let us know!
  • Randi & Liz’ cabin is absolutely amazing and feels like the ‘true adirondack experience’! We loved staying here, eating the homemade granola and watching movies by the fireplace after a long day hiking! Would absolutely recommend!

    Marieke2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is perfect and cozy. The gas fireplace stove creates a nice Adirondack ambiance. We loved the coffee, muffins, granola, and eggs. Thank you for making our anniversary weekend special!

    Adam2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Randi’s cabin is so cozy and comfortable, warm and inviting, that once settled in, I didn’t venture out until I had to depart the following morning. Also, the milk, pancake mix, and other such thoughtful considerations really made me want for nothing during my stay. The only thing I wished for was more time to enjoy this property!

    Lynn2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • The log cabin is very nice and cozy with its secluded location. The fresh eggs, muffins, milk, butter and granola breakfast was tasty and thoughtful. There is a selection of provided DVDs and some good books about the Adirondacks that we enjoyed.

    Kristopher2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • A great environment to “get away” without being too far off of the North way. The cabin is quaint and awesome for couples who want to be in a good proximity to the pharaoh lake region, as well as Schroon lake village. The bed and linens are five star comfy! Randi is very hospitable and appears to be near in case of any issues that could arise. The Campfire is nice as are the small trails. Away without being isolated; rustic, however clean and tasteful. If anything, we wish we had more time to explore!

    Jess2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay. Great host. Very private and quiet

    Arthur2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Randi & Liz were adorable and very attentive to our needs. The cabin is intimate and very warm, nestled in a meadow in the heart of the forest. It is rustic but has everything you need to be comfortable. Randi was kind enough to let us enjoy outdoor games (swing, tree house). We strongly recommend both for the home and the frame! PS: We have discovered beautiful places that we advise you: - Wild Center Museum Seaplane ride on Long Lake -Handled at Pharoa Mountain (plan 3h / 3h30 d ascent with young children)

    Benjamin2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful place hosted by wonderful people. My wife and I enjoyed our anniversary get away so so much. Randi and her family were so welcoming and accommodating they even managed to work out an extra night for us in their near by apartment at the last moment for us! The area is beautiful and our stay had everything we could have asked for and more. Take the chance to visit and stay here before my wife and I reserve it again! :-) - Andrew & Nazreen

    Schroon Lake, NY, United States

It is time to play in the Snow and on the Ice !!! Located in the village of Schroon Lake. Less than 10 mins walk to public beach and public boat docks & launch.30 mins to Gore Mountain, 35 min to the Lake George Village & 50 mins to White Face Mountain. Home is located on the Snowmobile trail system and across the street of Rt 9 for easy access for ice fishing in the winter months
Enjoy the whole place as if it was yours. The main structure was built in the 1890’s and was originally located on the lake. In the 1920’s the cottage was relocated, by rolling it on logs to the current location, and some additions were built on. We have talked to the different families who have either owned the cottage and raised their families in it or were raised in it. We all agree this little cottage has some big character and nice memories for so many.

  • Place is great, absolutely sparkling clean. Much bigger than expected. Very convenient location, close to the lake. Close to stores. My group and I can not come up with one complaint, especially for the price. Great value ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Chris2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was better than I expected, the pics are great on the app but it doesn’t do it justice. The cabin was bigger than I thought and it smelled brand new. Everything was new, shower had great water pressure, kitchen had water stocked in the fridge, a booklet with all the info you need to stay there and the place was warm when we arrive. I was very impressed, location was great. If you want a great place with a great price book this cabin. The owners really know what the word hospitality means.

    Kristen2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Christopher's place was great. It was a great location. Only 10 min from Word of Life. Everything was easy and as expected

    Andre2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great find- Christopher’s cottage was very clean and very comfortable- it was a perfect base for an Adirondack adventure!

    Nate2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very well kept, cozy, modern place. Very clean and new feeling.

    Tyler2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great especially for the cost. My family of 6 stayed comfortably. The place was spotless and we'll stocked with blankets, towels, etc. The space is really nice and cozy. Schroon lake area itself is beautiful. Lots of surrounding lakes and hiking. An hour from whiteface mountain and the North Pole, 30 minutes from Gore. We will be staying here multiple times a year from now on. This was my first airbnb experience and the hosts made me wonder why I've ever used hotels.

    Chuck2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Chris's place is clean, quiet, warm, and a great place to stay. We great time. Thank you

    Schroon Lake, NY, United States

The River Cabin is a simple but beautiful original log home that has a gorgeous view of Schroon River and Schroon Falls. It is privately located on a quiet lot but also only 200 feet off of Route 9. This cabin was built in 1977, by our family. It has access to a private swimming hole where you can kayak, swim, fish or just hang out. This cabin has a full kitchen, living room with propane fire place, 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. The basement has a unique game room with poker table and bar.
The River Cabin was built by my grandfather and provides a "Adirondack feel" due to its authentic logs and design. You will enjoy the private location that the River Cabin offers, but also like that it is only 5 miles from the Village of Schroon Lake. Gore Mountain is only 40 minutes away and Whiteface Mountain is 50 minutes away; it's a great place to stay for ski season!! Guests can enjoy an outdoor fire pit, fire wood is provided for our guests at no extra change. The fire pit is not available during the winter months, as it is covered in snow.
The River Cabin sits on 2.3 acres and over looks Schroon River and Schroon Falls. The driveway along the river is shared by my brother, the River Cabin, and a small camp in the woods. My brother lives next door, and you will occasionally see him and his family drive by, during the summer months. The River Cabin is unique in the fact that it is extremely private, yet only minutes to I-87 and approximately 100 yards off of route 9. The property is quiet, however there is some minimal road noise. The is a great location because it is conveniently close to route 9 and I-87, but please be aware that because of this you will hear some minimal road noise when you are outside. The cabin has views of the river throughout. The River Cabin is also close to town (approximately 5 miles). Schroon Lake has a beautiful town beach, tennis courts and basketball courts as well as a golf course. There are some great restaurants in town as well. Gore Mountain Ski Area is approximately 40 minutes away and Lake Placid (Whiteface Mountain) is approximately 50 minutes away. The historical towns of Lake George (40 minutes) and Ticonderoga (20 minutes) are close and great to visit. * Keene Valley, home of the Adirondack High Peaks, is approximately 20 minutes from the cabin. If you are a hiker, the location of the River Cabin makes access to the high peak trails very convenient.
  • Bonnie's place exceeded our expectations. It was clean and had everything we needed, making our trip near-perfect!

    Christopher2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place! Bonnie's cabin is really charming in a vintage authentic style. The river is splendid with a nice walk across the road. The house is perfectly clean and the kitchen is well equipped (no spices/sauce or other basics so bring all you need to cook). Communication with Bonnie was really easy. For people with young children, just note that the 3 bedrooms are at 3 different levels, and the twin beds are in the basement.

    Marine2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was splendid! It was a clean, authentic ADK cabin; appropriately rustic with scenic views and all of the creature comforts of home.

    Kelly2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The house was amazing in every way. Such a perfect setting and if You are looking for a true Adirondack cabin I can’t think of how anything could possibly be better.

    Charles2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely log cabin great for kids (who might like sledding right outside the backdoor in winter), and well situated for exploring all the Adirondacks have to offer.

    Chris2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • I took my boyfriend here as a Valentine’s Day gift- he’s very outdoorsy, and me... not so much. I was definitely prepared to feel out of my element, but both Bonnie and the cabin were warm and inviting. This is a perfect place to relax and spend quality time with those you love. Everything was clean, tidy, and cozy (no easy feat, considering it was -11 degrees outside!). Bonnie showed us around, told us everything we needed to know, and provided everything we needed. We spent most of the weekend in, and never felt cooped up or bored. I would definitely recommend!

    Schroon Lake, NY, United States

The Treehouse is an ideal place to immerse yourself in nature in the Southeastern Adirondack Mountains. This classic A-frame is cozy and inviting, offering a pleasant setting to relax and enjoy wooded surroundings in peace. No wifi, but all the amenities you need.
Located on a little-traveled road on the backside of Schroon Lake, the cabin is bordered by NY State’s Pharaoh Lake Wilderness, a large tract of Forever Wild land featuring picturesque mountains carved by an endless network of streams, waterfalls, marshes and ponds. The Wilderness presents dozens of hiking and backpacking opportunities on trails that aren't as congested as in the more frequented High Peaks area. Pharaoh Mountain, Pharaoh Lake and Crane Pond are popular hikes. Just down the road from the Treehouse are easy walks to scenic Spectacle and Gulf Ponds. There are only seasonal homes and camps in the area, and none are within sight of the Treehouse. Directly across the road from the cabin is NY State Wild Forest land, where after a level 900 foot walk through a mature canopied forest, you arrive on the shore of Schroon Lake’s Meadow Cove and a small sandy beach that is hardly ever frequented by the public. A 15 minute drive finds you on the more populated west side of the lake and the Schroon Lake village, with plenty of places to shop, restaurants to enjoy, essential services to take advantage of, and even an Art Deco era movie theater (circa 1940). Schroon Lake also has a 9 hole golf course, marina, local history museum, library, free summer concerts, town beach and playground, public docks and boat launches. Schroon Lake/North Hudson is home to the Paradox Brewery, as well as the renowned Seagle Music Colony which offers theater productions during the summer months. There are also plenty of opportunities for kayaking, canoeing and fishing in the area. In September, Schroon Lake hosts the Adirondack Marathon, which goes right by the Treehouse. Nature and solitude plus all the attributes one could need for a great Adirondack experience and vacation.
The cabin is in a remote part of the East Shore, bordering the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness area. A gem if you’re looking to get away and have easy access to scenic hikes, but still be within driving distance to restaurants, bars and shops. The High Peaks Wilderness, Lake George and Gore Mountain are 45 minutes away by car. Brant Lake is 30 minutes away.
  • Malinda’s place is wonderful! only 40 mins from the high peaks its the perfect place to stay if thats something you’re looking to do in the area. Are stay was amazing and the cottage had everything we needed and more.

    Natasja2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is an awesome place to stay. Great setting, great hosts. Love the wood burning stove and the loft bed. Solid kitchen for cooking in. Great deck. Peaceful and secluded. Highly recommend staying at the Treehouse.

    Frank2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • House was wonderful, very rustic and beautiful. Would stay here again

    Zach2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Malinda’s place is great! Very cozy for with room for a group

    Daniel2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • I had a very nice weekend at Malinda's Treehouse. I was unsure of what to expect without inside pictures, but I was pleasantly surprised! It was beautifully decorated, some antiques and it definitely has an Adirondack rustic feel to it. We had good communication over the period prior to check in and any questions I had were handled quickly. There's enough space for everyone to move around in. The bedrooms/beds are adequate and there's a couple of couches/futons for extra sleeping space. The bathroom is a bit on the small side, including the shower stall, but is manageable. Fair warning that the driveway is pretty steep, so you'll gain some skills over your stay for parking placement and backing up or down it! Overall it's a quiet and peaceful property on a long winding road with neighbors a fair distance from you and still only about 10 minutes from Schroon proper.

We are 3 miles from the town of Schroon Lake (Grocery, Post Office, Gas Station, liquor store, Strand Movie Theater, restaurants, etc.). You won’t have to venture far from the house for an Adirondack Wilderness experience! Our country home is situated on 10 acres at the dead-end of a country road, just on the northern edge of the Pharaoh Wilderness Area. Alder Meadow Creek runs along the south end of the property, where spring migration brings a wide variety of water fowl. Great Blue Herons and warblers reside throughout the summer, and we often hear loons as they fly over between their summer habitats of nearby lakes. Another delight for birders: throughout the woods you’ll hear songs of the Hermit Thrush, Eastern Phoebe, White Throated Sparrow, Oven Bird, various wrens, woodpeckers, and more. Evening brings hoots of the Barred Owl, Saw whet Owl and Great Grey Owls, as well as bull frogs, peepers and chirping tree frogs, and of course, the crickets. On clear nights the Milky Way is visible. Trailheads into the Pharaoh Wilderness Area are just a 5-minute drive away, leading to an expansive network of hiking and x-country ski trails. The Schroon River and Schroon Lake are popular canoe and kayak destinations. The Schroon Lake Marina (5-minute drive) in town rents canoes, kayaks and motor boats by the day, or by the hour. The nearby Schroon and Ausable Rivers are popular for Fly Fishing. The Town of Schroon has a lovely park with a great view of the lake, including picnic tables, a sandy beach swimming area staffed with a lifeguard, as well as nearby tennis courts and golf course. For winter skiing - Gore Mountain Ski area is a 40-minute drive, Whiteface Mountain Ski Area one hour. If you want to mix your wilderness experience with Music & Art - The Seagle Music Colony in Schroon Lake presents a summer season of theatrical performances for children and adults. The nearby Lake George Arts Project presents free concerts all summer in LG Shepard Park, and a nationally recognized Jazz Festival every September with world class Jazz performers. They also house a visual art gallery featuring regional and national contemporary artists, open year-round.

  • Laura and Sam's house was the perfect winter getaway with easy access to the mountains. They had everything we needed in their fully equipped kitchen as well as tons of books and games to keep us busy. We had a great time!

    Rebecca2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • A comfy getaway in a scenic location. Sam and Laura are attentive and passionate about their property. The stay is spacious and well designed. We loved every minute that we were there.

    Christian2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Have you ever dreamed of a getaway away from civilization, a quaint little house with a stream running beside it and a blanket of stars above you in the night? Then, you have found it because the ASA house is exactly that. The pictures don’t do justice to how beautiful and cozy the house is and we were pleasantly surprised by the beautifuly decorated, homey place. Our visit was in December, which meant rain and snow and that did nothing to hamper our stay. Between the 5 of us, we were warm, had hot showers and plenty of entertainment. The house is stocked with board games, movies and tons of books!! We all really enjoyed their collection of books and special shoutout to their amazing collection of Star Trek. We carried a few games of our own and also cooked. I’d like to mention that their kitchen is very well equipped, and that we had fun cooking. They have a big backyard and front yard and the location is perfect for star gazing, as you can see the Milky Way on a clear night. Both Sam and Laura were in regular contact to ensure we were doing okay and even offered us good advice when we had a winter storm warning on the day of our check-out. We were sad to leave the wonderful place we called home for three days and would definitely try and come back in Summer. Thank you very much, Sam and Laura. Just a note, there is weak connectivity for T-mobile and no WiFi (as mentioned in the listing), however, we had a potable MiFi and that solved that issue for us.

  • The house and surrounding area is beautiful and really worth visiting. Communication was easy and everything was really clean and welcoming, we were so happy during our time here and can't wait to be back!

    Natalia2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend this great little house. It is at the end of a road and very secluded, yet very convenient to the main road and even the highway. We have family in Ticonderoga and it is the perfect distance for a visit and the view driving East is breath-taking. You can see all the way into VT. Despite its compact size, it is roomie and bright with anything you would need very convenient and ordered. Clear directions, laundry, extra blankets, even recycling and composting available. Very impressed. My kids loved the upstairs room and it gave us the extra space we needed for extra some privacy. We didn't get to meet Laura and Sam as they were out of town, but our communication was very clear and natural. Maybe next time :-)

It is a wonderful combination of rustic and modern. It has all the amenities and coziness that gives it a wonderful feel of a home, but the sights and sounds of a nature surrounding you. Clean and cozy!! The cabin is tucked away among trees and trails, and the brook is down a hill, right in the backyard! Picture perfect view from the back porch and deck, to sit and sip coffee and bird watch! I saw Chickadees, hawks, and a Pheasant!! We spent Thanksgiving week there, the kitchen is fully equipped...We even made an entire Thanksgiving meal! Rebecca is an exceptional host! She made my stay amazing, she responded really quickly to any questions, and gave great tips and advice for places in the area. I left feeling refreshed, and made lifelong memories!

    Jacqueline2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • If I could give Rebecca 6 stars I would because this place was everything you expect. Everything you read and see on the photos are to be exact, but when you first get there you get a warm cozy cabin feeling and excitement. This is definitely a great place to stay if you love the outdoors. Heater was extremely warm even when it snows, clean inside, lots of stuff was provided even a phone charger! Rebecca was quick to respond and also very helpful. We will definitely be coming back during the warm weather :)

  • This cabin was more than I had hoped for by all means. The location was great, super clean, wifi worked great, beautiful scenery and the most comfortable beds. This is a prime spot in the Adirondacks to get away for the weekend.

    Michael2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Rebecca’s cabin exceeded our expectations! The place is absolutely adorable. It was very clean and well taken care of. We wish we would have stayed there longer. Rebecca was super helpful with suggestions, answering any questions we had and overall was a great communicator. The creek outside is so peaceful and the firepit was perfect at night. The cabin was easily accessible. My husband, our 3 month old baby and I really enjoyed our stay. We will 100% try to come back and stay in the cabin again. I’d even go as far as saying it was one of the best places we’ve ever stayed at, if not THE best. Highly recommend !!!

    Anna2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect getaway for a couple, for a family, or for that solo hiker. This place is so thoughtfully and comfortably decorated (where the heck did you get all those fuzzy blankets, rebecca??!!). Beautiful setting. I cant wait to get back. This place is going to be booked year round! The best hosts ever! Brought me produce from their garden and a space heater for spending my first night there without electricity. I was so cozy the whole time.

    Brandi2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, need a few peaceful nights of sleep, or a spot for inspiration, this is the cabin for you! Rebecca and Alison were very attentive, and did everything to make sure you felt welcomed, settled, and comfortable in their cabin. We walked in to a bottle of wine, dog treats/dog bags, and firewood for the outdoor fire pit. One of the best parts about the cabin was not only the beautiful brook in the back, but if you forgot to pack something there was no need to worry wether it be towels, a phone charger, coffee, tea. The cabin isn’t far from town if you want/need to do some shopping, or want to eat out or order takeout. We woke up before the sun came up to have our coffee on the porch and watch the sunrise, it was absolutely breathtaking, and our dog absolutely loved the freedom of running about and playing on the property. From now on this is the place we plan to stay for all our future Adirondack trips.

    Schroon Lake, NY, United States

The Tumble Inn is an 1870s Adirondack farmhouse on the west shore of Schroon Lake renovated with unique attention to detail and character of the original home including local touches, yet connected to modern technology. It was run as a full service bed and breakfast for the past 13 years by the current owners who now wish to scale back a bit.
Children over the age of 9 are welcomed. Each bedroom requires stair access and sleeps 2 people. The Winter room has a queen sized, pillow top bed .and is decorated with an Olympic feel. All bedrooms can be locked and have a private bath with a claw foot tub/shower within. Each bedroom has an electric fireplace and air conditioner. On the porch, there is an outside refrigerator stocked with water and soft drinks and microwave for guest use (not in the winter season). A Keurig for coffee or tea anytime is in the dining room. There are no tvs in the bedrooms, but wi fi is accessible. We provide daily clean towels, garbage removal, bottled water and chocolate candies in the bedroom.
Tumble Inn is 1/2 mile from the center of the village where there is a spectacular beach, boat access, a grocery store and other merchants, pubs and restaurants. Word of Life, the Paradox Brewery and Seagle Colony (music/opera) are close as well. Boat and kayak rentals are available on the lake. We are 25 minutes to Fort Ticonderoga and Gore Mountain. There is plenty of local hiking, but many aspiring 46ers find our location convenient to the challenge of the High Peaks.
  • We enjoyed staying with Nancy and Larry. Very lovey place with lots of thoughtful touches.

  • Great location and excellent hosts! Very quick to respond and very thorough in touring the home once we arrived. Delicious muffins and tea in the morning was an added touch! If you're in the area and looking for a place to stay, we highly recommend this place!

  • We had a great stay. Nancy and Larry are great hosts and the Tumble Inn and our room, The Winter Room, are really nice down to every little detail. The dining room is really comfortable and set up with a beautiful country style table cloth and dishes and silverware. The fireplace is amazing and we enjoyed it very much. There was even an electric fireplace in our room which adds a lot of ambience. It was a winter day and it was really quiet in town and all around. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Highly recommend.

    Barry2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • If you love the outdoors as Nancy does, she is a wonderful resource or can guide you to her endless resource of books on hiking etc. We enjoyed her hospitality, especially her 2 sweet dogs, Otto and Bella! During our day trip out, she pleasantly surprised us by freshening up our room, which we greatly appreciated. We look forward to another stay at the Tumble Inn.

Cozy, comfy, cute cabin in a small association available for 2 people. Enjoy a true Adirondack getaway, w/access to gorgeous Paradox Lake, one of the most pristine lakes in the Adirondacks. Just minutes to Schroon Lake, 20 minutes to Fort Ticonderoga. Nearby Pharoah Lake Wilderness offers nearly 50 miles of trails 5-minute walk to private shared beach where you can swim, canoe or kayak, bring a book and savor the silence, or just soak up some sun by the water.
Find peace, quiet and privacy close to the region’s best area attractions and the beautiful Adirondack Mountains. You have this little cabin all to yourselves where you can kick back, grill and enjoy the early morning on the deck with a cup 'o jo. Fully furnished, 2 small bedrooms, (one has a queen bed, on a double), fully stocked kitchen, TV and wi-fi (no cable), air conditioning, books to read and games to play. There is a firepit in the yard where you can roast marshmallows, or just enjoy spectacular starry nights. Since nature is our backdrop, and sound travels after dark, we request that music be listened to at a reasonable volume indoors and out. We may occasionally park our vehicles at the cabin so that we may access the beach.
Our cabin is located at the western end of Paradox Lake in a small association that used to be a summer camp. Beach access is across the road, about a 5 minute walk. The Village of Schroon Lake is a 5-minute drive, with shops, museum, restaurants, coffee shop, and the beautiful Schroon Lake park.
  • The house was great! Quiet, clean, everything we needed was already provided, and Pamela was very kind and helpful. The firepit was great as well.

  • The home was very comfortable and beds were extremely comfortableafter a long day of travel. When reading past reviews, one person had mentioned it was hot in the house, I found it perfect. The windows were open and there was a perfect flow of fresh air so we did not even need to use the AC units provided. The home was clean and we enjoyed coffee in the sun room even though it wasn't quite finished yet...it will be a nice addition to the experience. Easy walk to town and we enjoyed the town and the park by the water.

  • Almost everything you could possibly need is already there when you walk in the door and the house was incredibly clean. Even being right next to the road the house isn't very noisy and the fire pit outback is already supplied with wood to burn. When I would reach out to Vinny he would reply within a couple minutes and he made the check in a breeze. Would 100% stay here again if I am ever in the area.

    Emmett2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and comfortable. It provided a great location for exploring the Adirondacks. Will definitely reserve again when we return to the area.

    Mary2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great house that offered way more than we expected. Everything felt new, and it was incredibly clean. Very nicely decorated. Plenty of room for our family of four (2 young adult kids). The location was also a pleasant surprise. There was a nice hiking trail with a gorgeous stream/falls area within walking distance. The town of Schroon Lake was a short (15 min) drive with a number of nice eating choices. We booked the house as a jumping off point for a day trip to Lake Placid. A very scenic and manageable (45 min) ride. Even though the house is right off of the road, there was very little traffic. All in all a great experience. Thanks Vinny.

  • We booked a last-minute getaway to relax, and this stay went above all expectations. You can hear the river following below this perfect little cabin. The location is close to so many amazing hikes (we didn't consider hiking, but the resources provided by Don and Hrvoje convinced us). It is also SO easy to get to the house. The linen, dishes, and all the details made our stay so cozy. We loved all the touches. It almost felt like staying in Europe. The hosts have great communication, even the suggestion to download the directions before getting close was so helpful. Lastly, it's such a pleasure to stay in a dog friendly airbnb. Our two dogs were in heaven!!! We would love to come back!! Thank you so much for a great mini vacation!!!

  • Don and Hrvoje have been so kind and were so helpful throughout our stay. The location is incredible with a bit of a rustic feel. The home is beautiful with a great scenery. The pictures do not do this place justice, it is far more magical than anything I’ve ever stayed in before. I would recommend for everyone to stay here at least once. ❤️

    Savannah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a lovely getaway. The views are amazing, and the setting is private enough to enjoy the natural beauty, but close enough to larger towns if people want to have a little more 'civilization.' The house is even nicer than the photos. There's so many small touches (homemade pottery, stylish furniture, well-appointed kitchen, beautiful artwork) that really make the place feel special. Also, we arrived in the aftermath of a huge snowstorm that took power out for 80,000 homes, but Don and Hrvoje have a generator so we weren't affected in the least. The house was toasty and inviting - a welcome respite after the long drive. I loved seeing the snow in the treetops and on the mountains outside the window, and imagine the other seasons are just as gorgeous. Finally, they were very accommodating for our dog - and even left her dog treats. Really thoughtful and lovely accommodation.

  • A very clean and well put together cabin. The space is perfect for four and we all had a great time. Very centrally located to a lot of things if you’re willing to drive a bit otherwise there’s plenty in town and near by!

The master bedroom was very spacious with it's own private bathroom. The temperature of the house was good for the summer. The eye candy of the house is definitely the living room with the big windows. This is recommended place for couples, friends and family.

    Monty2019-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • The home was clean and lovely and exactly as advertised. Liz met us at check in to go over the house and to give us much appreciated advice on where to go kayaking locally. Hope to stay here again.

  • The communication was fast and efficient from our first encounter. Michael and Eugene happily offered us many suggestions for fun things to do around the area. The directions were very clear about use of the amenities which helped us to wash our clothes after some wonderful hikes with the kids. We had some trouble with the firewood being a bit damp the first night so we would recommend grabbing a small load from the place right down the street that had it for sale for only a few dollars. There were so many extra blankets and pillows to use too. My family probably loved that the most. 😊 I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • This place was everything it could’ve been and more. The house was spotless when we got there and the whole layout was super nice. Living room was great to relax in after our hikes and the place was really comfy and warm. Everything about the place was great and i really couldn’t recommend it more.

    Lorenzo2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place to relax! Spotless, cozy, and exactly as described. Our family had a great time tubing down the river, relaxing on the porch, and making s’mores around the fire. Michael and Eugene have thoughtful touches, are thorough and clear in their communication, and quick to respond to any question. We are definitely coming back!

  • Awesome location. Very comfortable. Room for the whole family.

  • Excellent location for relaxing by the fire. Screened in porch is definitely the highlight of the place.

  • Had a great stay at the cabin. The cabin was clean and well kept. Our family like the location of the cabin, it was centrally located to many of the sites we wanted to see and the location was quiet. The screened in patio was the best. The kids enjoyed the quick walk to the river for a swim. Michael and Eugene were quick to respond to questions and offer suggestions. Would definitely stay again.

    Matt2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed the weekend with a larger group and it was very comfortable. The river is about 30 yards from the back yard, down a trail and the house was walking distance from the falls where we floated back on tubes. The deck was large and had a big table/ patio furniture couch for everyone to sit at. Mosquitos were pretty pretty bad this year, but the deck was enclosed with netting, making it comfortable.

  • We enjoyed our stay in Schroon Lake! I stayed at Teal’s place the night before I ran the Adirondack Marathon and he was a great host. The space has two rooms with comfy beds, TV, couch, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The room is minimalistic but has everything we needed. The restaurant was open although we did not eat there it looks newly renovated. Teal and his family made a sign for all the marathon runners that were staying at the Airbnb- it was a very thoughtful touch. He had great, quick communication which we really appreciated. We would stay there again and recommend to those who are looking for an Adirondack experience.

  • Staying at Melissa's A-frame suite for a weekend was exactly what I needed, to get away from the bustle and noise of the city, I was able to relax and enjoy sounds of the lake, of the birds, and of leaves falling. You could see Paradox lake through the trees and it's a short walk down to enjoy the lakeside. The neighbors were quiet and respectful, the space was clean, and the kitchen and bathroom are nicer than my own! The kitchen is stocked with necessities to do some light cooking, I made use of the microwave, the stove, and the coffee maker. There was also a toaster oven. The water in the shower was nice and warm. There was an issue with the heat my last night there (first cold night of the season) and Melissa made sure I had a number of options to choose from to accommodate the problem so I was happy and comfortable. Her handyman was there within the hour to replace the thermostat, he was very kind and efficient to address the issue and I was warm and toasty after that. The drive in is beautiful, but drive slow because there are points in the road that are narrow and can only accommodate about a car width and a half. I can't say enough good things about my weekend. Thanks again.

    Michelle2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa’s place was very nice and clean. She gave us good recommendations about what to do in the area. Everything was appropriately stocked. The view in the back of the lake is gorgeous. She had kayaks in the back for us to use and we have a very nice and relaxing trip

  • What a great space for a winter weekend getaway. In a quiet secluded area, but still a handful of people out ice fishing and snowmobiling. The room is more spacious than pictures show, and include small touches such as plastic utensils and paper towels. Kept warm even with single digit temps outside. Would stay here any season!

A private cottage on 3 acres overlooking an Adirondack river with mountain views. We are located halfway between Keene Valley's High Peak District and Schroon Lake -- just off Route 9 between exits 29 and 30 of the Northway / Route 87.
Our North Hudson Retreat is a four season camp on the southern edge of the Adirondack High Peaks Region. The house is on 3 acres overlooking the Schroon River from a high bank. As the pictures show, a wild river and Nippletop Mountain can be seen from the backyard.   Our camp was originally built in 1952 and has been renovated and modernized. It has great views, an old style feel and the snug comfort of tight construction. We supply fresh sheets, bedding and towels, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. Pets are allowed, but we add an upcharge equivalent to another person staying ($20.00). So if you do plan to bring a pet, please enter an additional guest in the reservation.   Lots of windows make it bright and the view to the south is breathtaking. Accommodations include a full kitchen and bathroom, a queen size bed in the upstairs sleeping area, a double bed downstairs, a futon couch in the living room and another three mattresses tucked away for dormitory style sleeping if you have a large group. The place is small enough to be comfortable for two and big enough for six if they're friends. The living room has a vaulted ceiling, Jotul wood stove, and big windows on three sides. There is a DVD player and a sound system  that can be hooked into an iPod or smart-phone.   We are located on a town road (Pepper Hollow Road) a few hundred feet in from route 9. Cell phone reception is excellent for Verizon and T-Mobile. The driveway is 200 feet long and flat and can handle multiple cars.   From our place it's a 15 minute drive North to the Town of Keene and trail heads to the high peaks. Or drive south 15 minutes to Schroon and Paradox Lake. The village of Schroon Lake has a Grand Union supermarket, liquor store, bars, restaurants, etc. My personal go-to spot for swimming is Chapel Pond, which is 11.8 miles to the north heading toward the town of Keene, but swimming is also available right on the property if you don't mind a steep climb down to the river.   If you like to swim, hike, , ski, fish, climb or just be outside, our place is close to everything Adirondack. The Dix wilderness trail-head is less than a mile away on route 9. And when you've had enough outdoors or just want some quiet time you can enjoy a crackling wood fire and the simple pleasure of a private Adirondack retreat. The well is deep and the water tastes great. The air is pine scented and a pleasure to inhale. If you step outside on a clear night, you can see the milky way. Entire House and grounds are available for guests, including kitchen, towels, wood stove, outdoor fire pit and lawn chairs. Storage shed/shop is not for guests. We do not live on-site. I like to meet guests when I can, but quite often, just leave a key. I love the seclusion of our place, private and quiet, but easy access, and the towns of Keene Valley and Schroon Lake nearby. A great place to unwind, cook a good meal, open a bottle of wine and feel the spaciousness of the Adirondacks. The place is small enough to be cozy and comfortable for two people, but big enough for more, up to eight people if you don't mind dormitory style sleeping on an air matress A car is necessary. This is a rural and private retreat. We have an outdoor fire-pit which guests can use, but open fires are technically not allowed in the Adirondacks-- so use the metal fire-pit with screen cover and rake back the pine needles before starting a fire. • We had a wonderful time at Robert’s place. The cabin is rustic but has all the amenities you need and is perfect if you want a campy feel with the comforts of home! The location of Robert’s place was perfect. Incredible views of the mountain and streams in the backyard and located close to great hiking. I recommend hiking/snow shoeing at nearby Wolf Pond. It’s a beautiful hiking trail (about 2.5 miles to get to the pond-so 5 miles round trip) and the Mountain View’s at the pond are breathtaking. There’s also an awesome brewery called Paradox nearby that’s dog friendly. Great beer and scenic views! Highly recommend this place for a cozy, campy experience in the heart of beautiful Adirondacks!

  • Robert's space was exactly as described: charming, secluded, accurate amenities, and containing amazing views and scenery! We loved hiking Cascade Mountain with our dogs, chatting with the locals, and checking out Lake Placid (so much to do there!). Thanks for giving us an oasis to ring in the new year - Happy 2020!

  • We had a wonderful stay. Tranquil location equidistant from Lake Placid and Lake George. Easy check-in at this get-away obviously loved and cared for by its owners.

  • The view here is breathtaking and beyond peaceful! Never seen the sky so bright at night! Came here for my birthday with my boyfriend and due to a very bad storm we had no power or water and Rob was very kind and accommodated us, even without water heat or electricity we had a blast! The woodstove kept us nice and cozy for the cold night! He has a good selection of DVDs that we got to use the next day when power came back on! He supplies a great amount of wood! I will definitely be coming back here in the future! It was everything and more!

  • My boyfriend, small dog and I loved our stay in this beautiful space! It was nicely tucked away but close enough to the surrounding towns. The views are incredible and the cabin makes you feel like you are in a dream. The Adirondacks are a special place and this stay tops it off! We look forward to staying here again.

    Natalie2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Million dollar view. I could sit outside for hours. The home is quaint, but has everything you’d need. We were so glad to have a washer and dryer with how dirty we got from hiking. The location is great to access attractions near 87 and also the high peaks area. Bob was an awesome host and answered any questions we had in a timely manner. Just an FYI for parents of small kids- There are no doors on the rooms. It was a little difficult at first, but we worked with it. Would love to return here again. We miss it already!

    Meghan2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • The view from the backyard is sheer magic. I could have sat on that little bench all day every day of our trip (there’s just so much else to see in the surrounding area....!!!). A perfect place to cook a meal or pour some coffee and relax and appreciate the beautiful trees and sky. The stars at night are holy. The covered porch means even a rainy day isn’t lost.

Johnson Pond is located in North Hudson, NY in the central region of Adirondack State Park, four hours north of NYC, a wonderful getaway for anyone looking for peace and tranquility. The lake is approximately .5 miles wide and one mile long and is great for swimming, fishing and canoeing . We are a 2-story, solar powered eco lodge backed up with full generator. Our 3 BR cabin includes 900' of lakefront, dock & diving board, kayak & canoe and is surrounded by beautiful hiking trails minutes away.
We are located 15 minutes north of the town of Schroon Lake which has grocery, hardware, dining and a movie theatre. There is a gas station with staples five minutes from the cabin. Keene Valley and Keene are 25-30 minutes northwest by car and Lake Placid is 40 minutes, all surrounded by hundreds of Adirondack hiking trails with some trails only minutes away. The two-story cabin was hand-crafted and built out by a family member with beautiful wide-plank hardwood floors and wood detailing and is approx. 1500 square feet with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one private bath off the master bedroom. The private master bath has a clawfoot tub and the shared bathroom has a shower. The kitchen has an island for cooking, a large fridge and a six-burner stovetop range as well as an outdoor grill. (Please note: there is no oven as it is currently being replaced). There is a proper dining area off the kitchen which seats six and another dining area on the front porch. The house has two amazing screened-in porches, one runs the width of the house on the front and has a dining and sitting area and bed and the second one is off the master bedroom nestled in a cathedral of trees. The master bedroom has multiple windows on three sides, the middle bedroom has two windows on one side and a closet and the third bedroom is on the corner with windows on two sides and a closet. All beds are queens. There are two living room areas for socializing and relaxing. There is a TV with DVD player. There are some DVDs onsite, feel free to bring your own. There is Wifi for email and text (phone calls are out of range on smart devices) and a landline phone for calls. A beautiful hand-crafted walkway leads down to the beach with dock and diving board and a small boathouse with canoe and kayak. The solar panels can run for approx. two days with good weather and efficient usage. Once the backup generator kicks on, it will charge in about 40 minutes and should add another 12-18 hours of usage. Instructions are onsite and are simple and you can track your power usage throughout the stay to know what your storage capacity is currently at. This is a very beautiful and remote place. If you are looking for peace and solitude while you fall asleep to the sounds of the loons, it does not get any better than this.
The Adirondack region is rugged, wild and extremely beautiful. There is very little development and populations are small. There are some quaint towns throughout like Keene and Elizabethtown if you are looking for farmer's markets and farm-to-fork dining. If you want peace, quiet, and tranquility and are looking to just escape the city, this is the place for you.
  • My dad and a few friends stayed at Kathleens place. It has a very rustic down to nature feel. Truly made me feel one with nature. The record player was a nice touch and having plenty of fishing poles to choose from was nice. Beds were comfortable, fireplace was nice and you can see the stars at night from the dock. Highly recommend it.

  • House is in the lake but there is many steps from house deck down to the lake & Dock. It’s ok but my husband has shortness of breath issues so it was moderately difficult for him. The house is beautiful with many amenities. Large master bath and bedroom. Awakened to a beautiful view of sunrise each morning! Quiet location even thought there are neighbors. Enjoyed the Kayaks and bonfire area!

  • Beautifully situated, quiet, comfortable and relaxing. We use the fire pit which was great, what a spot to hang out. Make sure you remember Yard Guard and bug spray. With all the rain the bugs were brutal. Also if you plan to use the dock you want to confirm it is in the water. Lake was to high to have the dock in while we were there.

This authentic 1930's Adirondack log cabin, nestled amongst the tall pines, has 100 ft of frontage on beautiful Paradox Lake. A cozy retreat awaits with a lakeside deck, dock, swimfloat and fire pit. The deck is perfect for enjoying your cup of coffee in the morning, sunbathing or stargazing in the evening! Sit by a campfire in the firepit as night falls over the lake. Enjoy 17 acres of private wooded hillside for birdwatching or hiking to the top for panoramic views of the lake and mountains.
Just minutes off the Northway, this gem of a lake is small enough to provide a quiet, tranquil setting for canoeing or kayaking but large enough for you to enjoy all other water activities as well. Bring your own boat or rent one at nearby Schroon Lake Marina. A short walk across the gravel road leads you down to the lakeside deck. From the deck, a stone walkway takes you down to the lake, where you'll find a dock, a canoe and a pedal boat for your use as well as a swim float. We do not have a beach but there is a shallow area for wading. The cozy, rustic interior features: The original stone fireplace/woodstove to enjoy a roaring fire on a chilly Adirondack evening. The cathedral ceiling's skylights bring the beauty of the wooded setting just a little closer for your enjoyment. The fully equipped eat-in kitchen has granite countertops and modern appliances which include a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and a toaster oven. The two first floor bedrooms have queen size beds and ceiling fans. The second floor bedroom has 2 twin beds. The bathroom is on the first floor and has a walk-in shower, no tub. A large screened-in front porch overlooks the lake where you can enjoy dining at the picnic table, relaxing to the sound of the loon songs or reading a good book! Come and enjoy the beauty and serenity of the Adirondack Mountains and Paradox Lake in this cozy, comfortable log cabin! We think you will love it as much as we do!!
You can walk the length of Shore Road and enjoy views of the lake. Step out the back door door for a hike to the top of Woodchuck Hill.
  • Log Haven is a gem of a place! If you like quiet and seclusion, hummingbirds, loons and a very quiet lake this is right for you! The cabin is small and comfortable. The mattresses in very good shape. No a/c but fans in every room and lots of windows to open for cross breeze, great sleeping! Two clean working grills (propane and charcoal) made my "grill king" husband very happy. The fire pit, deck, dock and swimming raft made the lake access easy and fun. Schroon Lake is a cute town, restaurants and nighttime activities like square dancing and concerts. Saratoga Springs is just an hour down Rte 87 for a nice day trip. Fort Ticonderoga - fun for school kids and history buffs - is less than a half hour away. Pharoah Lake Wilderness area has miles and miles of trails. Keep in mind, there are stairs down to the lake and also to the cabin -although there is one stairless entry to the cabin via the 2nd driveway. I would say that being able to handle stairs easily would be good. Edith and Tony were wonderful hosts, we'd love to come back!

  • We loved the whole experience in Trail Break! Teal and her husband (as well as their other staff) are excellent hosts. We had dinner the night before the Adirondack marathon in Schroon lake and the food was great, we slept very well and the next morning they left an awesome support banner for us for our run. Great place to stay if you want to visit Schroon Lake. Thanks for your hospitality, Teal and everyone else!

Our cozy apartment attached to our garage can sleep 1-3 guests and provides a unique western vibe with views of our horses from the bedroom window. The property is roomy and private but also has two main houses and two barns within sight. We are 8 minutes from the Schroon Lake village with the river within walking distance to swim, kayak or tube in. This is also a great location for many of the tourist attractions like hiking, boating, fishing, skiing/snowboarding and snowmobiling.
This apartment has a king sized bed in the bedroom that come with sheets and blankets. You will find the kitchen well stocked with the basic cooking essentials along with a stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, Keurig, flatware, and dishes. The bathroom has a shower with towels. The main living room offers satellite tv and a futon which pulls out into a full sized bed. In the summer there are AC window units in the bedroom and living area. In the winter it is well heated. You will have views of our horse corral, horses and turn out pasture. There are 2 main houses on the property as well as a small cabin and two barns. The 40 acres that make up this property are bumped up again state land, making the woods go on for what feels like forever. Interstate 87 does run nearby, but not visible. What is nice about this spot is it's enough off the beaten path, but close enough yet to the village of Schroon as well as a great starting point for most of the attractions--hiking the high peaks, skiing and boating, just to name a few. We do have a few kayaks available if not being used by family or other guests. They are kept by our swimming hole and you are welcome to them. The ONLY spaces shared with other people or our family would be the swimming hole. ***PLEASE READ: You are not completely isolated here, but still very private. We are VERY considerate of our guests but If you are looking for complete isolation, this is NOT the right place for you. You will see horses and if you venture out of the apartment into our yards, you may see our family riding horses or running around. You cannot see any main roads, just the driveway. You may also see an occasional dirtbike head into the woods. Horse lessons occasionally happen in the horse arena down the hill from you, feel free to come and watch, we have found our guests love to see the horses work.
This apartment is 8 minutes from the village and offers several restaurants and hiking opportunities. The lake is fun in the summer and fall time is gorgeous here! We are 40 min from Lake George, and an hour from Lake Placid. We are 30 minutes from Keene valley, the famous high peaks, and 20 minutes from Ticonderoga. Gore Mountain is 40 minutes away with Whiteface about an hour. We have lived here a long time and know the area very well. If you are looking for something specific, we can help, so let us know!

  • Great location for a ski weekend. The check-in process was really smooth and the communication was quick.

  • The Horse View apartment is an absolutely lovely place. My boyfriend and I stayed in February and although there was a lot of snow, there were little signs to help direct us along the splitting driveway. All along Randi was very responsive, answering any questions I had prior to arrival. She recommended a place to eat which was delicious. The place itself has a horse theme to go along with the horses that you are allowed to pet behind the apartment. Keep in mind that it is in the Adirondacks and therefore everything is just as big as it needs to be- i.e. stove, shower, etc. The best part, however, was the homemade muffins and granola for breakfast. Absolutely delightful.

  • This is a hidden gem in the Adirondacks. Randi went above and beyond in her communication regarding the travel route, was accommodating and flexible regarding our arrival time, and it’s clearly evident she enjoys sharing this very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated apartment. The breakfast supplies were a huge bonus for us..... and once I picked up the book she authored, I couldn’t put it down and decided to purchase one! This wasn’t just a stay but a very sweet experience!!!! Thank you, we will be back!

  • This apartment is just as wonderful as all of the previous guests have said! Quiet, comfortable, very, very clean, and good restaurants within a 10-20 minute drive. Nice comfortable king bed. Responsive hosts. As a thoughtful touch, they left us breakfast items - fresh eggs, homemade muffins and granola. We came to Schroon Lake to visit a relative and will be back here again next autumn!

  • Deborah was great! My girlfriend and I arrived a few hours before check in time and Deborah was ok with letting us check in early. It was super clean. Everything was just like the pictures nothing less. I enjoyed my stay very much and also looking forward to doing it again. It’s about only 30 mins from lake george which was perfectly fine by me

  • The best things about staying here are that you have use of a private beach and kayaks, you are right on the lake and you are only one block from the town center. It’s also very close to Natural Stone Bridges and Caves and somewhat close to Fort Ticonderoga. We enjoyed having a kitchen in the efficiency because we cooked some of our meals there. It was also clean and Deborah was available for any questions, and very friendly.

  • The location of this home to town is unbeatable! The sandy beach area is a rare commodity for rentals on the west side of Schroon. Plenty of room for kayaks, a boat and beautiful fires on the water!!! The house offers excellent common space for meals and socializing, and then also offers privacy in the sleeping arrangement department, this equals the best combination! Elyse had someone available if we needed them at check-in, but we didn't as things were exactly as expected. We will definitely stay again in the future! Great place, on a great lake, in a great town :-)

    Gesile2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place for larger family gatherings. We had eight people with plenty of space. The beach was great. There were kayaks available for use. The description was accurate. Host communication was prompt and courteous.

  • Elyse is the loveliest of hosts! She genuinely cares for her renters and wants everything to be to their liking. Elyse checked on us several times during our stay and we really appreciated it! We enjoyed her rental-the lake views are amazing! Her location is perfect, as everything in town is within walking distance from the house. It was the best place to watch the 4th of July parade and to view the town fireworks! It is a unique home with a lot of character and history! We'll be back!

  • This is our second year staying at the Apple Tree. Another wonderful experience and continues to be a great value for a group of 7-10 people (see previous review below for more details). We brought more family members (young kids) and stayed more days this and everything turned out very well. Perfect location in town and right on the water. Clean unit and Elyse was very responsive to our questions prior to and during our stay. Thank you Elyse!

  • All I can say is, WOW!!! I recently decided to throw an impromptu bachelorette-party-on-a-budget for my cousin and a handful of her girlfriends. We wanted something drivable from the city, rustic-chic, spacious, and most importantly, with a stunning lake view. The Apple Tree Lodge is nothing short of spectacular. From the friendly and eager-to-help host Elyse, to the fresh linens/towels, the immaculate cleanliness, and million-dollar-view, this place really checked alllll of the boxes and then some more. We felt safe in the home, everything was in great working order, we enjoyed plenty of privacy to do our girly bachelorette activities, but also knew that Elyse was on speed-dial if we needed anything at all. ‘And the town is a gem: amazing ice cream shop, movie theater, cute coffee place, diners, fun bars and a brewery, and a even rooftop wine bar with wine slushies + yummy apps! I will 100 percent stay here again and literally cannot wait to take my parents back this summer! They’re going to fall in love with this place just like we did.

    Erica2019-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our group of seven really enjoyed our stay here. Elyse's place is very comfortable and had everything we needed. The teens claimed the upstairs space and enjoyed their privacy. The location was about 30 minutes from Lake George and a very short walk into town for restaurants and shopping. Elyse was the perfect host and very communicative, making sure our stay was perfect. We would stay here again.

    Kelly2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly situated between Lake George and Lake Placid, Schroon Lake is the perfect place for a family vacation. A large 9 mile long lake with all the local amenities a lake town should have. The description of her place is spot on. You are right on the water with your own private beach, deck, and screened in porch. Plenty of rooms and space to accommodate a big group. The place is clean and comes supplied with everything you need for living. As far as value goes, you really can't beat what Elyse has to offer. Her communication was excellent every step of the way. We all enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again.

    Chad2018-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Apple Tree Lodge last week. There were 9 of us in the group and plenty of room for everyone. Elyse is wonderful; she is responsive and wants to ensure her guests have what they need and are happy. The location of the house is perfect - you can walk to the boat house and town common areas for concerts and other events. You can walk to church (there are two in town), to the grocery store, ice cream stand and to all the many shops and restaurants downtown. We loved that. We rented a boat and although there is no dock for this house, the owner next door was kind enough to rent one to us for a nominal price for the week. The kitchen is sufficient for basic cooking; I requested a big salad bowl and Elyse immediately brought one down from her unit. I think a few more dishes and glassware are needed but we survived by running the dishwasher more often. Another photo looking at the house from the lakeside would be a great addition to the listing ... it's hard to see from the current photos just how close to the water you are and how private the beach is. It's a gem. We were very happy with our choice in Apple Tree Lodge and know others will be also.

We own a spectacular cabin with amazing lake views on the east end of Paradox Lake, NY. We rent year-round. Paradox Lake is located in the New York Adirondacks, about 13 miles west of Ticonderoga, and 7 miles northeast of Schroon Lake. Our Paradox Lake rental home is a prow-front, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with a wall of glass, which provides an amazing view of Paradox Lake and an amazing feel to the home. We provide high speed internet and a Smart TV (apps like Netflix, no TV reception).
The view of the lake from our custom prow front home is spectacular. The beachfront is a great place for all ages, from young children to adults. The sand beach area is a perfect play area, and swimming from the dock is always available. Fishing is right off the dock or from the canoe, and the canoe is also a perfect way to explore both the lake and the inlet to the lake. Sitting on the newly refurbished front deck and enjoying the lake view is a great way to relax. Beach access is enhanced by a spectacular set of wooden steps. The home is well appointed and kept clean. The screened in porch has a beautiful lake view and a table and chairs are provided for convenient outside dining. The wrap around deck provided tremendous lake views, and provides direct access to the wooden steps which provide beach and lake access. We have high speed internet for wi-fi. We have a Smart TV in the living room to stream apps like Netflix and Hulu (there is no TV reception) . And we have a TV and DVD in the basement for watching movies or playing games.

You can visit Gore, Lake Placid, Blue Mountain, or other Adirondack sites all within an easy days drive. Shopping is available in both Schroon Lake and Ticonderoga, both within 15 minutes of the home. Golf is available at Ticonderoga (18 hole course) or Schroon Lake (9 hole course).

  • This house ended up being perfect for our group of 9! We had run a relay race together and were looking for somewhere to stay between Lake Placid and NYC without spending a ton of money. While this town is off the beaten path, staying in a large house overlooking a beautiful lake was amazing. The space was great, and we made use of the outside firepit, the canoe, and the grill on our second night (when we had fewer people remaining). We chose not to use the indoor wood burning stove, but it's cool that we could have (with some direction from Doug to make sure we did so safely). Only Verizon phones had signal - other carriers had absolutely no service. However, the house has wifi. It's not super fast, but it keeps you connected, and Doug was nice enough to make sure we had enough data (we hadn't realized we used quite a bit the first night). We had a few questions during our stay, and Doug answered really quickly via text, which was much appreciated (luckily imessage works on wifi, so we were able to communicate despite lack of cell phone service). Overall it ended up being a great value, and I'd definitely recommend as a place to get away for a few days.

  • The house sits in front of lake Paradox which was frozen and calls you to just walk on it and take in the beauti of the winter wonderland, I can only imagine how it is in the summer and fall. The house gives you the warm feeling that you are at home and have been there you whole life. The views from the inside the house are just amazing, no matter if you are in the living room, dinning room or the top floor. That be said the star gazing from inside and outside the house spectacular. The deck is just breath taking you can gaze at the lake or the house and not want to leave. Over all it is better if you experience it for yourself.
