Places to stay in North Hero
Our house is located on Hibbard Bay, close to YMCA Camp Abnaki, Hero's Welcome General Store, state parks, marinas, of course Lake Champlain!, great views, restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities, Burlington, Montreal and Plattsburgh NY.. You’ll love our studio because of the coziness, amenities, views, quiet neighborhood and the location. The studio is good for couples and one other guest (additional charge), solo adventurers, and business travelers.
The house was a barn built in the 1800's, converted into a duplex in the 1970's. Jamie and I purchased it in 2002 and have been bringing the 6500 square foot house back to life renovating & restoring ever since. It has 5 floors (4 in use!) surrounded by 4 plus acres of fields and gardens that we have created. The house overlooks Hibbard Bay, has the most incredible sunrises and view. Sitting in the chairs, book and glass of wine in hand, it does not get any better than that!
The neighborhood is a quiet residential area with only on few homes on the waterfront. Down the road the YMCA camp covers the point and across the bay the view is the backside of Knight State Park which is a day use park only; bayside not developed.
  • Great experience, beautiful studio apartment with a private entrance in the front of the house. Perfect for myself and my girlfriend for the weekend, full kitchen, great bathroom, comfortable bed, plenty of comforters for the cold nights, radiant heating through out keeps the place toasty. Location was great about 30 min from Burlington and 1hr from smugglers notch. Right on lake Champlain. Will be back in the summer!

  • This was our best Airbnb stay yet. Lisa and Jamie are kind and generous hosts. We enjoyed our stay at this immaculate and spacious lake side studio apartment. We especially loved the thoughtful touches like the handwritten welcome note on the entrance and the delicious breakfast basket containing cookies, cake, fruit and white bread, all home-made and freshly baked. The view of the lake is splendid. We were lucky to catch the beautiful sunrise. The shower is excellent too. Serene, rejuvenating, and romantic getaway.

  • Our stay here was wonderful. Beautiful view of the lake, extremely nice and responsive hosts. They had a well stocked kitchen with basics like milk, eggs, OJ and common spices and condiments. Our hosts even left us some cookies and hand picked apples. We had a nice chat with Jamie under the night sky by the chiminea. We even got to see the northern lights. Stay here for a lovely local experience of the Champlain islands!

  • Lisa was a tremendous host! My girlfriend and I use air bnb a lot and we have never experienced such thoughtful touches ranging from baked goods to supplies for s’mores. This was an amazing find when we were just hoping for a fun getaway. Would highly recommend and we plan to come back!

    Erik2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa’s place is in a truly outstanding location, helped by wonderful weather, so we could sit outside looking at the lake & later enjoy a warm fire too. Lisa’s home baked muffins & cookies were an added bonus. It’s very quiet this time of year, but we managed to rent bikes for a half day & otherwise just enjoy the peace. Hope to come back one day!

    Janet2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We felt very much at home in this cozy retreat. It was stocked with everything you could want for a yummy breakfast & snacks. Large space to spread out. Remote, quiet, and peaceful. The chiminea & s’mores were a great touch on a chilly night under the stars.

    Marsha2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful and tranquil place to stay. Lisa and Jamie are great and helpful. The place was unique and very comfortable. I loved the chai bread...I also loved heated bathroom floors. We would stay here again in a minute

    Kathleen2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was perfect for a sister getaway. Lisa was there to greet us, advise and share. Her garden was amazing and we incorporated her bounty in our breakfast we made with the fixings she left in the refrigerator. The flowers were beautiful and the sitting area facing the Lake was peaceful and relaxing. I had been to North Hero before and have done the Burlington to South Hero bike trail, but was physically unable to bike this year. There is not a whole lot to do on the islands mid week off season that doesn't require physical challenges, but the scenery was beautiful and relaxing. When I get my new hip, I will return.

The health and safety of our guests, homeowners, and employees is our number one priority. Many of our vacation rentals minimize person-to-person contact with private amenities and entry via smart locks or lockboxes. Plus, each reservation is backed by 24/7 customer support and expert cleaning in line with current CDC guidelines.
You'll never want to leave The Shoreline Cottage, a charming North Hero vacation rental, at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, packed with a wood-burning stove, charcoal grill, and direct access to regal Lake Champlain. Plan out your day while relaxing on the Adirondack chairs on the property's lawn, which is just 20 feet from the lake's shore. Spend your day wandering the shore in search of fossils. You can walk or drive about three miles to the west side of Isle La Motte to Saint Anne's Shrine for quiet reflection or a fulfilling brunch. In town is Hero's Welcome for Vermont-based gifts and goods. Just nine miles away is North Hero State Park where you may spot white-tail deer and ruffled grouse. Staying lakeside at the cottage may be your cup of tea, however. Made for the laid-back traveler, this home provides plenty of quiet nooks to unwind with loved ones. Play Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit at the expandable card table in the sunroom – until the sun sets when you'll want to watch the sky shift shades from the ample lake-facing windows. On chilly fall evenings, head into the living room for apple cider toddies. If you never get a chance to lounge in front of the TV at home, feel free to do so here with the cable-equipped flatscreen. New England summers are divine for fixing sweet corn and clams over the smoky charcoal grill. Behind the gorgeous cabinetry of the fully stocked kitchen are all the tools and dining ware needed. This single-level home has two bedrooms that will accommodates four adults and two additional children. The master bedroom features a cozy queen-size bed in which guests can go from their pillows right out to the lake through a sliding glass door! The second room has two twin beds, and there's a pull-out sofa in the living room. A maximum of six guests are welcome here! Up to two family dogs are also welcome here for a small nightly fee. Other amenities include a full bathroom, outdoor shower for a post-swim rinse, and WiFi. This is a great rental for avid bikers who enjoy rides filled with incredible views. In addition to Isle La Motte attractions, you'll find even more with a 45-mile drive from the cottage. If you love a good scenic drive, take a 24-mile trip down to South Hero or 45 miles into mainland to Burlington. This Lake Champlain vacation cottage will invoke serenity and good memories for years to come. Book soon! Meals & Room Tax License #MRT-10082226 A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.
  • What a gem. Nice and quiet dead end road. We saw only a handful of vehicles the entire time. The place is rustic, and they emphasize that in the description. They do clean the place very well. This is a camp and you are going to see a spider or two, but that comes with the territory of a camp on the water. I prepared myself for a musty smell -- but I was wrong and glad I was, no musty at all. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen is perfect. One of the days we stayed, the wind was at a constant 20mph, up to 45mph and you would have never known -- this place is not drafty at all and we stayed comfy with the efficient and easy-to-use woodstove. If you like to take walks with your pup, the road to the right and left are nice and flat, especially if you have an older dog. We brought all our food with us and cooked every meal. We learned later of a local store that carries a full butcher shop and really great food. Next time we will just shop there on the way to camp -- we definitely plan on going back for a week or so and explore more of the State Parks. Thank you for opening your camp and trusting us with your property.

  • Great place! Super relaxing and refreshing.

    Ben2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is quiet, cozy, and a perfect summer retreat! Great views looking out onto Lake Champlain from almost every room in the house. Charcoal pit outside is perfect for grilling. And it’s just steps away from the water to enjoy a swim!

    Calli2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was the perfect getaway to unplug and unwind! We enjoyed sunrises over the lake and cooking all dinners on the outdoor grill. Opening the windows and French doors with provides screens created the perfect breeze. Not too hot at all! When I did have a question about parking the host was responsive right away!

    Emily2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great find! We are totally going to be going back to this place!

    Derrick2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful spot off the beaten track. So quiet! The sound of the lake lulls you to sleep.

    Katie2019-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay when you're visiting the island. Convenient when you're venturing off, too. Right on the water, beautiful sunrises.

  • This was our 2nd visit to The Secret Passage. Alisha and her husband, Tim are such gracious hosts. You couldn’t ask for better! We drove up to a welcome sign on the front porch, the smell of fresh baked brownies when we walked in and hugs like we’re visiting old friends or family. Everything is clean, thoughtful, and homey. The accommodations are super comfortable, the breakfasts are delicious! There’s lots to do and see within an easy drive from here. Can’t wait to return again, we always hate to leave:(

    Kay2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Secret Passage made us feel right at home! Alisha, Tim, and Bella were all so welcoming! Each morning we were served a delectable breakfast - courtesy of Tim and his incredible cooking skills! They were very considerate and accommodated the various dietary needs for all guests. The location was perfect - situated off a quiet rural road, but close enough to easily access the Burlington/Shelburne/Waterbury/Stowe areas! They’re very knowledgeable about the area and want to ensure you have the best experience! Hopefully we can come for a stay again soon! ❤️

    Jessica2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is an extraordinary Airbnb. It sits across from a beautiful river, very picturesque, and calm. Alisha and Tim accommodated us last minute on our way back from Montreal and made us feel very welcome. The house is a gem, over a hundred years old and beautifully decorated and maintained. They provided a wonderful breakfast with the other travelers. We highly recommend their place and would return if we visit the area.

    Jack2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome stay! Alisha and Tim are so nice and welcoming :)

    Jordyn2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Alisha and Tim have made The Secret Passage something very special! You feel at home the moment you enter and meet them. The bed was so comfortable, their hospitality stellar and the breakfasts such an added bonus. The location is excellent, quick and easy access to Burlington, Waterbury, Stowe and the Champlain islands. We would recommend to family and friends and we hope to return some day!

    David2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Alisha's designation as a super-host is well-deserved. She is a GREAT communicator and clearly wants her guests to be comfortable. Everything in the description and guest-reviews is true and accurate. We came with bikes and kayaks to explore the area for the first time and the Secret Passage is an ideal location to explore from - riverside rural quiet street yet very short drive to the city and Island Line Bike Trail. Guests have access to a great screened-in porch with tables and chairs, kitchen, and upstairs TV sitting area so there are plenty of comfy spots to read alone or interact with other guests and hosts as you wish. Breakfasts and snacks were wonderful. We are not done exploring the area and want to return to the Secret Passage next year.

    Jandy2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • A Wonderful Bed and Breakfast. It is hard to describe what fine hosts Alisha and Tim are. Let me make a few observations from our recent stay. This is a meticulously maintained and spotlessly clean 200 year old farm house with beautiful landscaping, peaceful acreage and river frontage. Whether it is watching sunset from the dock, savoring breakfast on the screened in porch, relaxing in the upstairs parlor and enjoying the lovely guest rooms or sharing a bottle of wine with other guests and the hosts; this place is just wonderful. A couple of surprises. The location is even better than advertised. While it has all of the charm of a Vermont farm experience, it is 3 minutes from the interstate and one exit away from all that the Burlington area has to offer. The Secret Passage is perfect for a parents visit to St. Michael's College or UVM and ideal for an extended family get away where you rent the entire three bedroom upstairs. Tim and Alisha have created a perfect spot for a post graduation reception or, maybe if you asked real nicely, a wedding venue. These hosts take what's possible in innkeeping to a whole different level. They elevate it from a job to a calling. Stay at Secret Passage before the "secret" is so well known that they are booked a year in advance.

Beautiful property with lake access in the winter ice fishing and in the summer, many other amazing opportunities
Outdoor shower in the summer. Row boat and float access in the summer. Or just a swing from a tree
In the winter, North Hero is a very quiet and peaceful place. In the summer, the island is buzzing with activities, outdoor festivities and more dining options.
  • So welcoming, really good person, our first step for the road trip in Vermont with my girlfriend was wonderful. A really good partnair with Diesel ;)

  • Hannah's beautiful and cozy home, alongside Hannah's glowing qualities as a human being and host, made this easily the best AirBnB experience we've ever had. If you are traveling through North Hero, VT and need a place to truly call home, look no further. We will absolutely be back if/when travels take us in that direction again!

    Wyatt2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah is an amazing host. She is very kind and friendly!, she goes above and beyond to make sure her guests are comfortable. The farm house was awesome. Very rustic, loved the fire place and art on the walls. Also, the bed was super comfortable. Overall, it was a great experience staying at Hannah's farm house, awesome animals and great hospitality. I would definitely love to visit her farm again in Summer.

    Rakesh2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We were there just overnight in the middle of winter but a cozy and charming farm home. It would be awesome in the summer! Recommended.

    Linda2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I've stayed with my 6yrs old son at Hannah's place, we had great time at a fireplace, enjoyed a beautiful view of a snowstorm and visited Hannah's farm with funny alpacas. Hannah even dug out our car out of the snow in the morning, for which we are very grateful, thank you Hannah!

    Dennis2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah's home is delightful, full of comfort, ease and many thoughtful touches. The bed is extremely comfortable (and I mean very, very, very comfortable) and the room has many thoughtful touches including a self serve coffee maker with cream and sugar, distilled water and a selection of teas; comfy throw blankets; a portable heater for cold weather; a private entrance; a selection of books; local newspaper; soft towels and personal care items. In addition, Hannah set up a laptop with Netflix for entertainment on the bedside table! Hannah is also a thoughtful and interesting conversationalist. Respectful, knowledgeable and compassionate. I was very happy to stay in Hannah's home and to meet her menagerie of animals including the alpacas, goats, chickens, ducks and lovely Great Dane. I would happily stay again and perhaps will bring the boyfriend in warmer weather! Thanks so much for having me.

    Trix2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah is an amazing host. Loves to chat or will leave you alone of that's what you want. Very friendly and outgoing. The alpacas are awesome. The bedroom is very cozy and warm. Loved staying here.

    Bruce2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Super nice farmhouse on a small island in Vermont. The hosts are warm and the decoration is unique with several rustic objects. Very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend the place! :)

I have a cozy, quaint, country chic home that I take great pride in. It's a 7 minute walk to Lake Champlain, the new marina, Bayside Pavillion Restaurant and bar, a fishing pier as well as a local park with farmers markets and running paths. A 5 minute drive brings you to the heart of St. Albans town. Surrounded by another park, breweries, shops and restaurants. I live on a very quiet street. 40 minutes to Jay Peak and Smugglers Notch.
I am very accommodating and want my home to feel like yours. I have full screened in porch, grill, fire pit, garden and fenced in yard. I have a cozy living room with an electric fireplace that gives off a nice ambiance. I have a fully functioning kitchen that I am happy to share! I do live in my home with my two dogs Wesson & Tucker, a boxer mix and a lab that only bark when you come to the door!
I live in a very sweet, safe area down near the lake! I’m located on a quiet residential side street! When you are relaxing in my backyard or screened in porch, you will think you are in you’re own little private world!
  • Very homey and welcoming. Price was great. Great place for relaxation and solitude. Close to everything.

  • This place is the best place I'm gone since I use RB&B (few years)... The place is great, clean, comfortable and Tamara had so many way to make us at ease... Thanks a lot for every things... Tamara, Wesson and Tucker 💕

    Catherine2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • I don't know where to begin with my praise for Tamara's outstanding hospitality, her attentiveness and eye for detail! Having been her first guest, I for sure was treated like a princess! In fact, the room is so cozy and just perfect for one person. I could even get some work done at the desk by the window (I just loooove the view!). The skylight added to the snugness, especially when it rained or hailed. There are even little snacks and toiletries provided for free. Everything was easy, practical and clean: sharing one bathroom, cooking in the oh-so-well-equipped kitchen or chilling in the spacious living room. A perfect place for dog lovers as Wesson and Tucker love to be around people and indeed want to be petted all day long! :)

We call it "The Schoolhouse:" once a one-room schoolhouse and now a VT lake getaway! Private and close to activities: sandy dunes beach (1 mi), golf (1 mi), two vineyards (23 mi), Montreal (~1hr), beautiful biking roads, shared dock, sunset views over the lake, and back yard abuts 20 acres of bird-filled conservation meadows. Good for couples, bikers/boaters, families w/ up to 1 child. 1 bathroom with shower; cozy and bright. Charcoal grill, kitchen, and Adirondack chairs, WiFi, stereo, A/C!
This cozy renovated house is a former one-room schoolhouse that now has separated rooms for kitchen/dining and bed/sitting area, plus a fully enclosed sunporch and wrap around deck. It's outfitted with beautiful shaker furniture handmade by NA Durso Vermont Furniture Makers (Jesse's dad!) and all the utensils to cook delicious meals in the kitchen and grill on the deck just out the kitchen door.
Neighbors Joey and El on the left and Andrea and Donna on the right are sweet as can be, you won't see too much of them but sometimes walkers and bikers take a turn down this relatively quiet road - usually because it's <1 mile to the dunes beach (only sandy beach in the islands, the rest are smooth stone beaches)! Check out the Isle La Motte historical houses, cider tasting and apple picking, north hero boating, and south hero wine making operations. Take a day trip to Burlington or Montreal in ~1 hour.

  • We had a lovey stay here. Lisa and Jamie are super hosts who don’t “hover”. The bed was SO comfortable that it was physically hard to get out of it in the morning. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean and the wifi was fast! We were spoiled in the morning with a homemade gourmet breakfast and a selection of French pressed coffees! Thanks so much for creating such a wonderful experience!

Dogs are welcome, but require Owner approval and payment of a $75 per dog per trip fee, maximum of 2 dogs.
You will have complete use of the entire cottage. It is a stand alone residence and will be yours for your entire stay. This cottage has been fully renovated and includes new a tile shower that is very spacious, porcelain tile floors throughout, new kitchen appliances, cabinets and countertops. The kitchen is fully furnished and includes some spices and other items needed for cooking a delicious meal. There are four adirondack style chairs outside for sitting and enjoying the sun, breeze and view. It is a great place to enjoy a drink and food while taking in the beautiful western lake view, sunsets and birds. We have seen bald eagles, osprey, hummingbirds, red tail hawks, and numerous other birds. On a clear night, star gazing is amazing.
Our cottages are part of a 45 acre parcel that once was a working farm that rented cottages in the summer for additional income. The cottages have been rebuilt and the vast meadows are now used just for growing hay. So there are many forms of wildlife around. We have seen deer, fox, bald eagles, red tail hawks, osprey, any many field birds. It is fun to just sit and watch the meadows and lake. A relaxed place with friendly home Owners that enjoy meeting new people.
  • Absolutely incredible cottage and location.. The views were surreal. Super clean with a nice cozy, modern touch. So much to do within 30 minutes of the property. Will be back for sure!

  • My boyfriend and I traveled up to Vermont for a little weekend getaway. The cottage was well furnished and was a perfect size for two. Two extra twin beds as well, making the space very comfortable for 4 guests. The house had a beautiful view of the water, and was down the road from some lovely scenic overlooks. Montréal was only an hour and a half away, so we spent a nice evening there. Great spot to do fun day trips. Really enjoyed our stay.

  • David’s place was simple and elegant with absolutely stunning property views. I’ve already recommended this stay to close friends. For the area and clean space, you won’t find a better place like this for the incredible price!

    Josie2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was just as pictured. David was there as we drove up to make sure there was a light on for us and he showed us how to unlock and lock the door as well as how the heater worked and told us a bit about what was in the area. There's also a book with helpful information. The place is beautiful; there's a wonderful porch where you can sit and see the sunset on the water. There is also a deck with deck chairs outside. The beds were incredibly comfortable. There are DVD's available to watch. There is a rocky beach within a short walking distance and a State Park with a mile long sandy beach a short drive away or even within walking distance if you like to walk. It was very quiet, peaceful and relaxing spot to be. We would definitely like to come back. Thank you, David!

    Gretchen2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Rental was as pictured. Spotless. Comfortable beds! Beautiful views. Kitchen had everything we needed. David was available for any questions we had. Fantastic host!

    Kristin2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Superb accommodation right next the lake, everything you could want for a relaxing holiday with a great beach very near by and a lovely shop with fantastic produce around the corner! Our family loved it!!

    Ross2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • David’s place was incredible, clean, comfortable, and the best location we could have asked for with direct lakefront views and easy access to state park. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Cozy home nestled within a quiet bay of Lake Champlain. Catch breath taking sunrises from a three season room. Enjoy evening strolls to view spectacular sunsets at a little known state park called Bow and Arrow Point. No pets and no smoking.
    Lakeside living
Quiet walks to watch both sunrise and sunsets.
  • Denise's place is exactly as pictured. It is spotless, roomy and well-stocked with linens. There is a lovely view of the lake, with plenty of spaces to take advantage of it. Denise was flexible with both check-in and check-out. Recommended!

    Kathleen2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • There were certain criteria that were important to me when I was looking around for a location for our Fall Foliage Trip: House on a lake, facing the sunrise, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, close enough to the airport but remote enough that I could enjoy peace and quiet, easy to find and access, basic amenities. This property checked all the boxes. I also thought that, as a SuperHost, Denise would make a good choice as a landlady. I could not have been more right. Denise is the perfect hostess, on-site and present to address all your needs or concerns and at the same time not intrusive or obtrusive. She accommodated our every request and made us feel that we were actually AT HOME. We had the most Fabulous experience, both in Vermont and at Denise's property. This is a vacation that we will always remember fondly.

  • Denise is an awesome host and this property was exactly what we were looking for in the Champlain Islands. My teenage boys loved using their kayaks to fish in Hibbard Bay and riding their bikes along the Shore Road. The adults were all able to relax and enjoy the serenity this home offered. Denise is so friendly and hospitable. The only time that we needed something she responded immediately. I would HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone looking for a lakefront vacation in the Champlain Islands.

    Chris2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our month by the lake at Denise's lovely home. Everything was "as advertised" and we found ourselves slipping quickly into vacation mode. My favorite time of day was morning when I would watch the sunrise from the screened-in sitting room while drinking my coffee. Denise was very helpful and spoiled us with chocolate chip cookies. She takes impeccable care of the property. Hibbard Bay is a wonderful slice of Lake Champlain and we hope to return again.

    Helen2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Denise was a great host and her property is beautiful. The flowers and landscaping were perfect and her house couldn’t be located on a better piece of the lake.

My little cozy guest house. Enjoy your private beach across the street on Lake Champlain..Bring your boat and enjoy fishing on the lake with beautiful views of the Adirondack Mountains..Also Vermont is a hop, skip & jump away with the Ferry 2 min. away. We also have the City Beach with its new Cabana Bar & State park right here where you can walk on the beach to , or take your boat to. Great restaurants to. Plattsburgh is a great place to visit . Hopefully we'll see you soon.
Quiet, you can ride your bike, bike path, go sit at beach, have a bonfire, go swimming, fishing , etc.
  • Cute, clean and comfortable cabin close to town. Communication with host was easy and check in process was easy as well.

  • The house is very cool, we only needed a place to sleep, and it was wonderful!! Nicole was very nice and available for any questions. I would love to go back when I can get time to see the area.

    Ken2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great location if you want to go to Plattsburgh! The beach and the city center are nearby. Very small and functional. Host available and welcoming!

    Eliane2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole's place was the perfect spot for my wife and I to spend a week exploring Plattsburgh and the surrounding area. She was an excellent host - super helpful and very communicative! You can tell she loves hosting! The private beach is a short walk from the house and it was nice to come back every day and relax by a fire, overlooking the lake and the mountains in the distance. The location is awesome, too - the ferry to Vermont is 5 minutes from here and there's plenty of other things to do and see within an hour drive from the house. As she says on here, the house is small, but it's totally adequate for people just needing a place to stay! For the price, you definitely can't beat it!

    Jenna2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying in Nicole’s Cute little self contained house. It had everything I needed, and was in a great location Although I didn’t meet Nicole, She stayed in good communication with me. Highly recommend it!

  • Thanks, your place is exactly what I was hoping for... quiet beauty, amazing vistas, lakeside setting. I was very comfortable and wish I could have stayed longer. I am so glad that you have made your place available.

    Jill2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location and cozy house overlooking the bay. Great layout and beautiful outdoors with Lake access. If feels like a really home, unlike a lot of airbnb places. I would however add that there is only 1 shower for 4 bedrooms. Also appliances, dishes, pipes etc are getting very old. Some little upgrades would definitely make this place a paradise! Thank you for having us!

    Pierre-Louis2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place was awesome! We really enjoyed the views and taking the kayaks on the lake. Truly a hidden gem.

    Brittany2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nice location! Kayaking and paddle boarding was awesome. We had a great stay. I would book again in future.

    Melissa2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely and quiet few days at this lake house! Lots of hiking and kayaking, and very quiet! The Adirondaks were only two hours away! The home has everything you could need in the kitchen, towels, extra blankets, pillows ect. There were kayaks, paddle board, lake floaties with the house. There is a small grill, and a fire pit which we had a great time using. The night sky was so clear, you could see so many stars! We had a wonderful time kayaking and hiking and relaxing by the lake! Check in and out was very simple, and there were very clear directions posted on the fridge for check out expectations- which I always appreciate. (Just as a note) There is a key pad lock box around the corner, on the side of the house, to the left of the sliding glass door that would probably be difficult to find if we had arrived after dark. Thanks for a nice trip for a little “unplugging from the chaos” adventuring! We had a great time! :)

    Jess2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was everything we hoped for - a rustic, no frills, getaway cabin experience perfect for a sweet escape into a quiet pocket of nature. There were all of the basic amenities necessary for a weekend spent relaxing and cooking in a lakefront cabin. There was some confusion before arriving about whether or not there was a grill although there was one listed on the Airbnb description and shown in the listing pics. Vacasa said there was not actually a grill when asked what type of grill I should prepare for; however, after packing our's in preparation for a grill-filled menu, there was actually one on the property upon arrival. Besides that, the communication with Vacasa and the property manager was wonderful, quick, and accurate. The place is a true gem for a group of friends looking to get away! Be sure to make use of the sauna, the incredible tub with a view, the fire pit, and the kayaks!

    Danielle2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house was well appointed with plenty of space and good amenities. It was clean and very well prepared for our arrival. The kitchen was very functional and we did our own cooking for the entire three days. Fun games and adequate water equipment to get out on the lake. Overall, a very enjoyable experience!

Camping site on lake Champlain. Site includes a Tiny House for sleeping with a small building with toilet and sink and lake water. We have a futon for sleeping, however we do not supply the bedding. This is a large private lot with full access to Lake Champlain and is also located on the Vermont bike route.
The camp site has a Tiny House for sleeping and is located right on Lake Champlain. It has a futon and a rollaway bed for sleeping. Because we supply the Tiny House for sleeping for only two guest we no longer allow campers or tents on the property as they kill the grass. However we do allow parents with one child as long as the child sleeps in the building with parents.
The camping site is located on Lake Champlain approximately 35 miles north of Burlington Vermont.
  • This little camp has all the charm and location shown in its write up. Although my travel plans changed several times during the week, my host was kind, patient, and responsive!! I will be sure to make plans to stay here in the future. Great location, close to UVM, close to Montreal, close to nature!! Thanks, Cindy!

    Sharon2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so great, we adored the cabin and location!!

    James2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time! The other reviews already describe the property pretty well. Definitely a memorable stay!

    Dominique2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabin right on the lake with a spacious deck that's ideal for sunbathing and admiring the beautiful views. The fire pit is a bonus as well. This is a great place for those looking to get away and enjoy time in nature, while at the same time being a short drive from local attractions and shops in St. Albans. Cindy and Phil are gracious hosts and attentive hosts. We had a wonderful stay and would love to come back!

    Monica2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a great little get away! It is right on the water and has beautiful sunsets! We were greeted with a beautiful flower arrangement on the front porch and a paper listing everything going on in the area. There are also brochures for various activities in the local area as well as playing cards and tic tac toe. There are a couple picnic tables and some chairs to sit on the deck and take in the amazing view. There is a bathroom with a flush toilet and running water set a bit back from the cabin. Top everything off with a rip roaring fire at night and this place is the perfect mixture of roughing it and a home away from home! Cindy and her husband were very welcoming and sweet. They stopped by to check in on us the first and second night and we talked for quite a bit! They are very kind and understanding. For things to do....St. Albans is a cute little town about 15 minutes away - we recommend Mimmo’s if you like Italian. Burlington is about 30 minutes away and has a bunch of great breweries/distilleries/cideries. This place is far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but close to the necessities if you need to make a pit stop!

    Jennifer2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This spot was perfect for me! It is very simple, but has everything you need. The deck is unbeatable and the sunsets amazing! Cindy and Phil responded right away when I had questions. I will definitely be back!

    Melissa2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable hut, ideal for folks used to tent or RV camping. Cindy and Phil are hard-working, warm people, and it's amazing for us city people how much of the property Phil has built with his own hands. Land has been in Cindy's family for some generations and the host's connection makes this stretch of beach even more special

    Natalie2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was great. Cindy and Phil were friendly and made sure we had what we needed. The tiny structure was great for sleeping. The views were great and we enjoyed swimming in the lake. It isn't far to get to several destinations in Vermont from here.

  • Great place, highly recommend.

    Nicholas2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. It was so cozy and just a really lovely escape to unplug and relax. It is a little older meaning it is smaller than some modern homes, so with 3 adults and a baby we were comfortable, but I don't think you would want a much bigger group than that. The area is really beautiful. We stopped at the local market for some groceries and the people there were so nice and recommended some nice places to see. We really loved going to an apple orchard nearby, too. The owners were also extremely helpful. Something was missing, and they brought it to us very quickly. We really enjoyed this home!

    Stephanie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

  • Great place to get away with friends or family. Quiet area with poor cell reception which we actually really appreciated being able to disconnect from the world for a few days. Grateful to not have had to drop off our trash and recycling- they even came partway through our trip and took trash/recycling away. Bring lots of bug spray and fans if it’s going to be hot! The second floor was unbearably hot during the day but cooled off nicely in the evening.

  • This stay was the best of our entire 30 days of travelling. It was surprisingly and pleasantly quiet. The check in process was convenient. We were amazed that the fridge was stocked with water, beverages and all the ingredients for a home cooked breakfast. The space was clean, bright and very private. It is close to Ruthcliffe Lodge and Restaurant, where we were able to dine and entertain family. We wish that we had been able to stay longer! Location is perfect for doing anything in the Champlain Islands.

  • Kathy was a wonderful host! She was very accommodating and gave me some great tips on what to do around the island! We loved the location and it was definitely secluded enough where you felt like you were on the island by yourself! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to unplug for a weekend getaway!

  • Kathy and her family were so helpful and accommodating. We had an amazing time biking and kayaking and enjoying the beautiful scenery.

  • Amazing views of the lake and farm. Clean and comfortable farm house conveniently located.

  • I planned a 10 person bachelorette weekend and this house fit all of us so well. We had an amazing time and the space was perfect for our close group. We all slept comfortably, and loved the family style kitchen so we could all be in there and eat together. The lake was gorgeous, and we had the best time.

    Marie2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time. Thanks. Here are a few friendly suggestions: You could be more generous with items like detergents, toilet paper and shampoo. We paid for a week and things ran out long before the week was up. Also, it would be nice to offer coffee for your guests, as well as sugar, and even a creamer (we do so as Airbnb hosts and I know it's much appreciated). There were two trash cans and one was already full when we arrived, which was inconvenient. Perhaps make sure that's taken care of before new guests arrive. Also, the gas grill was pretty grungy; we had to clean it before we could use it. And, FYI, the upstairs tub was really backed up. We used liquid plumber to get it moving again. You might want to check on the status of that. Also, on Sunday, someone came by and wanted to clean the house. We sent him away. No biggie, but wanted to make you aware.

    Kathleen2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Nice space for the price. Very clean and fast response from the management. The "beach" is 100% rock, no sand and the road to cross it is very busy. We wound up going up the road 2 miles to the dunes for swimming and spending time with the little ones. Overall, nice place to stay with a large family

    Molly2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! We ended up being there on the hottest days of the year thus far so no AC was a little tough but the host provided plenty of fans to help circulate.

  • The view the view the view was amazing. The place has plenty of space for relaxing and enjoy the lake. We enjoyed our time!

    Anaise2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful location! Thank you for making it dog friendly. We really enjoyed the location, wildlife and quiet. There is an osprey nest on the cell tower visible from the kitchen/sink window. The adults were flying between there and a tall dead tree right on the shoreline and diving for fish. There is also a blue heron that was hanging out in the water behind the garage every day and also flew past us at eye level along the shore. Amazing to see! The house was definitely one of the cleaner rentals that we have stayed in, spacious and kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, etc. ***We didn’t mind having to bring our own drinking/cooking water/water for the dogs but I almost missed that in the description (my fault for not reading fully). I think I saw it mentioned in some reviews so that is why in mentioning it here. If you are looking for quiet and privacy, this is a great place!

    Jen2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location on the lake. Easy to get to but very quiet and quite private. Lots of large windows, taking advantage of the gorgeous view of the water. Also a well equipped kitchen.

    Maria2018-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super cute and big place! Plenty of room for everyone and lots of various places to lounge and spread out. It’s right on the water and there’s a canoe available that you can take out on the lake. My only note is that the water source is a pump directly from the lake, which is safe for everything but cooking and drinking. They do have a water cooler there that you can load up with 5 gal water jugs.

    Brandon2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful views. Very comfortable. Great kitchen. The screened in front porch was a plus!

    Mary2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house itself was excellent. It's a quiet location, right on the water, with an amazing view that changes throughout the day. It's in the heart of the Lake Champlain islands and we were able to easily access norther Vermont, northern New York, and Montreal. Also, Vacasa was an outstanding host -- reaching out to us ahead of our arrival about check in and once we'd checked in making sure we had multiple ways to contact them if any questions arose. It was a great stay.

    Chris2018-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay here with my mom. Location was wonderful and home/property well maintained. Beautiful views and sunrise from the deck is incredible. Plan to bring your own water, as the water sources come from the lake and should not be ingested as drinking water. Overall 5/5 experience here! Highly recommend :)

A lovely two bedroom cottage, sleeps six. Living room with sleep sofa, bathroom with stall shower, and a well equipped eat in kitchen with all the comforts of home. Lovely screened in porch and exterior deck for enjoying the lake views and a gas grill and picnic table outdoors. Great country roads for hiking and biking. Over 200 feet of private lakeshore, dock and rowboat, lots of wildlife, great fishing right out front, incredible views and sunsets. Motorboat rentals available nearby.
The cottage is an easy commute to Burlington (40 minutes) or Montreal (60 minutes). It is on a quiet, dead-end road, with a park at the end of the road. You can cross the Grande Isle Ferry from NY 87 and be there in 15 minutes. Easy access off of VT 89, Exit 17 and then North on RTE 2 through the Champlain Islands until you cross the North Hero drawbridge: then the first left on South End Rd down to the lake.
Our cottage is on a dead end road right on the lake shore. The residences on this street are spread out and there are acres of undeveloped land behind the cottage. This is a quiet, rural setting with amazing sunsets and vistas.
  • This absolutely wonderful cottage is a fabulous spot for a vacation or getaway. We stayed here while visiting our daughter in Burlington. Butch and Janet are terrific hosts who clearly put a lot of thought and consideration into hosting and left us several thoughtful small amenities that made our stay just perfect! They are considerate hosts, readily available yet making sure we had total privacy. The location of the cottage is stunning; steps from a wonderful private shale beach complete with a dock, wonderful quiet roads for exploring the area by bike or walking, and large open fields for walking or playing. The cottage has a fabulous screen porch and deck to enjoy during warmer weather and even swings on the lawn to relax in while reading or taking in the beauty of the incredible wide open lake and mountains views across it. We were here during peak foliage which was stunning but I want to return to enjoy the warm weather amenities like kayaking and swimming as well! The cottage itself is incredibly well maintained, clean, comfortable and well equipped for any kind of getaway. And it was so wonderful to have our pets with us to enjoy this amazing gem! We will be returning whenever we are in the area as this place is simply fabulous!!

  • In all of our years using AirBnB on our travels, we've never quite been as impressed and happy as we were staying with Butch and Janet. Although we unfortunately didn't manage to cross paths with Janet, we felt her presence through the abundance of amenities throughout our stay (and one in particular which we won't spoil for you by detailing). Butch is a true gentleman, salt of the earth who tells a great story. The place was immaculate and so pleasantly laid out, with views of the lake from just about anywhere. There is so little traffic on the road that it was really like being just on the lake. Butch and Janet clearly cross every i and dot every t when preparing the place for guests ... even the bike tires were fully inflated and ready to take us to The Hero's Welcome along the beautiful island roads. Thank you, Butch and Janet!!!

    Megan2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Janet and Butch have created a lovely, tranquil get away cottage. From the thoughtful breakfast pancake mix with real maple syrup to comfortable outdoor seating this place is where you want to be on the beautiful shore of Lake Champlain. Everything from communication to check out was easy and we always felt able to reach out with any questions. Everything has been thought of from extra blankets to a fully and well stocked kitchen. It is our hope to return again in the future. If you’re thinking of a stay on Lake Champlain, don’t miss out on this lovely comfortable cottage.

    Teri2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place very neat. It essaye perfection for our little family. The kitchen was well equipped.Sunsets are beautiful. Hosts very wellcoming! Thanks for all

    Fred2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • The view of Lake Champlain is a treat. Having a flotilla of sailboats out your window or off your porch will only bring smiles. Right on the lake. Great spot for kayaking, fishing, or swimming. House comes fully equipped and will accommodate 4 or more. Clean. Both a screened in porch and a porch in the open air. If you're looking to be in the Grand Isle area and you want to be right on the lake this will do very nicely.

    Mark2019-09-02T00:00:00Z

    Hilary2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The was the loveliest lakeside cottage. Comfortable, clean, well located with easy access to all that the area has to offer. Our kids enjoyed playing lawn games and we enjoyed relaxing on the swing. The sunsets were amazing, and having a stretch of private beachfront to build a little campfire at night was the best! The hosts are super responsive and friendly, tending to any need or concerns we had.

  • This is our second time staying at Poulin Shores. We all always have the best time. Chris is an amazing host and responds to any questions so quickly. The cabin is located on a quite street and the lake views are breath taking. Thanks so much for letting us share your little slice of heaven.

    Jonathan2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a great place to stay in a perfect location make sure you give this place a shot. Chris is a great host and was very helpful with things to do around the area. The cottage is clean and very spacious and was a lot bigger than we expected, The bed we slept on was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked for all you need to prepare a meal. We also loved the firepit by the water which was a great end to our day, Grocery shopping was also only a ten minute drive to town. This was our first trip to Vermont for fall foliage which was spectacular anywhere we went. We visited Stowe, Burlington, Winooski, Montpelier, Waterbury, St. Albans, Swanton, Malletts Bay, Colchester and Cambridge to name a few. We also took a Gondola ride to the top of Mt. Mansfield which was breathtaking to see all of color of the trees and is a must do if coming to Vermont to see fall foliage. Thank you to Chris for providing us with a perfect first trip to Vermont!!

    Vincent2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • You simply won’t find a more peaceful place to stay! Such an amazing value, so much space and bigger than photos capture. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, and the scenery cannot be beat. In fact, we went on a “scenic” train ride tour in Burlington and said to ourselves “we should have stayed at the cabin, we have better scenery there!”. We ate all our meals by the water, had coffee in the screened in porch every morning, woke up in the front bedroom to sunrise over the lake, and had cozy fires at night. If you’re looking for somewhere fancy this isn’t the place, but if you’re looking for somewhere simple, clean, and relaxing don’t miss the chance to stay here!

    Jenna2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was in good working condition and you need nothing . House description and amenities are all very accurate!. Wonderful place right on the water. I couldn't have ask for anything better! Chris was very responsive! Thank you again

    Michael2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Chris's cabin! It is clean and spacious with lots of thoughtful storage (hooks, baskets, dressers, etc.) and decorative touches. Our daughter loved climbing on the rocks on the side of the beach and we loved eating dinner on the deck. The screened porch was great in the evening when we wanted to avoid mosquitoes and the large backyard was great for our four-year-old. With a washer and dryer, a well-stocked kitchen, and some recreational items (board games, canoe, etc.), we had everything we needed for a relaxing week at the lake. Great location, too, with superb views of the sunset.

The cottage is newly renovated, clean, and bright. It is on the back row of cottages, so the lake view is between the cottages on the front row. There is a sunset photo included in this listing that shows the view towards the lake. We also manage the rental cottages on the front, so if you are interested in one of those they are also listed here on AirBnB.
The cottage is one mile from the Alburgh Sand Dunes State Park, the Alburgh Golf Links. St. Anne's Shrine, Hall's Home Apple Orchard, and the ancient coral reefs are all on nearby Isle LaMotte. Harborside Harvest Market, a great place for gas, groceries, and deli items, is within a couple of miles.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Serge's. The place was beautiful, the cottage immaculate. The hosts were very friendly. We highly recommend it.

  • All the way down the little waterfront lane is a piece of heaven. Serge's cottage is a perfect escape in a beautiful setting. Absolutely spotless and a great kitchen to prepare a meal by the lake. Comfortable beds and seating. Also located right next to Alburgh Dunes Park and Isle La Motte...

    Myra2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Very secluded and the location is everything on the waterfront. If you are looking to disconnect, this is the place. Wi-fi didn't work but cell phone service at the house was good so it worked out. Typical cabin in the woods feel. Loved every minute.

    Quentin2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic and we enjoyed it very much. Serge was kind and helpful. Make sure to read the "House Rules" section before booking because some basic amenities carry an extra charge.

    Noam2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a little slice of heaven. Our family of four had a very relaxing weekend at Serge’s waterfront cottage. We enjoyed gorgeous sunsets while playing board games down by the water! We took our rowboat out a few times and the kids loved skipping rocks from the beach. Highly recommended if you’re looking to unplug and retreat.

    Calen2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and peaceful, home is as described. Lovely and peaceful on the lake.

    Amy2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, quiet, beautiful spot right on the lake. Great place to relax and enjoy the water.

    Monica2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely, quiet stay in this beautiful setting. The bicycling in that area is wonderful and we enjoyed the pleasant summer breezes and the expansive sunsets at the cottage. The Adirondack chairs were great for nice long stints of reading. Upon arrival we were a but surprised to see that the host, Serge, lived in the house just a stone's throw away, but they had a separate dock and I think they were only there for a long weekend. When we were there (Aug) the lake was very shallow, which just meant wading in a good distance (100 ft at least) to have water above an average adult's waist. (Be sure to visit the Alburgh State Park where there's a huge sandy beach where you can rent kayaks.) We loved NOT having a television at the cottage. While there is WiFi, it's not the fastest. For cell service, we had 2-3 bars of Verizon so calls sometimes cut out--another ingredient for a peaceful vacation! :-) If you're looking for a beautiful place to really get away from it all, this is a great choice. If you bring all your own food/spices/beverages/shampoos etc, you won't have to go looking for it but the Harborside Harvest Market is less than 3 miles away. The closest full-service grocery store is 30 minutes drive.

  • Lisa & Jamie were AMAZING!!! They went above and beyond and picked us up a town over due to my car breaking down and then dropped us off at the automotive place the next day. They made us feel warm and welcomed our entire stay and Lisa is an awesome cook! The views were spectacular of the lake. We are ever so grateful for their acts of kindness and highly recommend staying with them.

  • This is an absolutely great value. It's a bit off the beaten track, unless your track takes you to the middle of Lake Champlain, which is always possible. You have to try the French toast

Sweet alpaca fiber farm located on Lake Champlain. Cozy room with lake views, access to full kitchen, bathroom, laundry facilities and high speed internet. Seperate entrance (depending on weather) and option to walk an alpaca. Local interests include Hero's Welcome a unique store with an array of food, gifts and apparel, local restaurants with delicious food and plenty of room to snowshoe, ice fish or just relax in the quiet of the islands.
  • Hannah's place is in a beautiful setting on Lake Champlain. The house has many artistic creations that make it unique and special. Can't wait to return.

    Carol2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • On the coldest night of the winter, Hannah's warmth and friendliness made us feel cozy. She took good care of us with some surprise gifts that kept us warm and gave us all of the information we needed to feel at home on the farm. The house sparkles with Hannah's funky artistic style and we slept in one of the most comfortable beds ever, topped with the warmest quilt we could hope for! In the morning it was a treat to meet the sweet alpaca herd and having Diesel the gentle giant around in the house gave us the dog-fix we always love since we can't own our own dog. North Hero is a perfect location for enjoying the lake and the natural areas throughout the Islands.

  • Hannah is an amazing host. She is very pleasurable to be around. Loves to chat or she will leave you alone if you want. I stayed three nights here and everything was perfect. All her animals are great. The alpacas are amazing. Thank you for everything.

  • Alisha and Tim are wonderful hosts. They surprised us with brownies and wine upon arrival, and cooked lovely meals for our breakfasts. They’re welcoming and friendly people who were comfortable to be around. There was a beautiful view of the river across the way. A charming place to cozy up in the winter, like us. We’re looking forward to returning one day. We’d highly recommend staying at The Secret Passage for your next adventure in the area.

  • warm welcome in a charming house and well located, we are at home and very well guided to visit the local sites .. I highly recommend!

  • Out of 4 Airbnb's this vacation, this was by far our favorite! From the beginning to the end our experience was top notch! As we pulled up, we noticed a chalkboard welcoming us and congratulating us on our anniversary. Alisha met us at the door and gave us a tour of her lovely home and provided us with a complimentary bottle of wine, again nice touch :) ! Little did we know we would be spoiled ...daily breakfasts with fresh raspberries from their garden, pancakes, bacon, quiche, yogurt...what a spread! Tim printed out directions and gave us a tip to get to Montreal without waiting. Alisha also provided us with print outs of recommendations...another nice touch! Alisha and Tim were outstanding hosts. I cannot say this enough! We felt very welcomed and they gave us our space. But we really enjoyed learning more about them and enjoyed our time sharing wine together just talking. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the dock across the street. It's a nice focal point and a perfect place to watch the sunset. It also hosts the local rowing team. We wished we could have seen them in action but we did see the team set up...next time! The front porch is very inviting and is a great place to watch the sunset as well and play games. The bedroom had everything we needed and the bed was oh so comfy. As an Event Manager, I pay attention to detail and there were a lot of special touches throughout this home. Tastefully decorated too! Again, what a great experience. We highly recommend if you are looking for a special getaway!

  • The Secret Passage will soon not be a well kept secret! Alisha and Tim are the most warm and friendly and attentive hosts you will ever stay with. They have mastered the art of what makes a host home work well. They are completely tuned in to their guests, whether you are there for rest and retreat (as I was for 10 days!) And always ready to chat and share life stories as well. In my many stays at Air BBs , their place surpassed the rest. Comfortable, true to it's description, authentic in character . Lovely restored farmhouse, with important amenities taken care of, such as a heavenly bed, clean bath and fluffy towels and all the extra necessities, wonderful healthy breakfasts, social time on the porch, great tips for local places to go. I was lucky to get a little private boat ride on the Lamoille River on my last night. Am sitting at home in Colorado now, teary-eyed as I reminisce on a beautiful stay!

    Wanda2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Alisha & Tim’s place! Oh my goodness there are so many good things we could say. Sitting on the front porch and relaxing for breakfast was so nice. The bacon 🥓 and pancakes 🥞 were delicious. They are so friendly and the tips they gave were so helpful! We love that they had a list of places that we might be interested in available when we arrived!! We are definitely planning to go back and would recommend this place if you are in the area!!

    carol2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first stay in an AirBnB and it was stellar. Alisha communicated quickly and clearly. She and her husband were welcoming, friendly hosts who allowed us to make ourselves at home. Alisha offered wine and conversation on their screened in porch when I arrived, and prepared two delicious breakfasts for us during our stay. The historic home is in a quiet, lovely place across from a sleepy scenic river. Three upstairs bedrooms with comfortable beds and a sitting area are available for guests, with a shared bathroom. The company was congenial and considerate, so sharing the bathroom was never an issue. While the location is quiet and secluded, it’s still close to main roads/highways and Lake Champlain, so getting out to explore is easily done, and your hosts will be ready and able to offer excellent suggestions and directions. I truly wish I could have stayed more than a couple of days!

Cozy and eminently inviting, this North Hero vacation rental is all about a great location and gorgeous meadow views. A couple seeking a refuge from the everyday will certainly enjoy this lovely retreat. Situated on a private dead-end road, this one-bedroom home is exceptionally quiet. You'll find a public boat launch less than a quarter of a mile away and North Hero State Park is just down the road. Like condos of old, this home is above a garage but is well appointed, with brand new furnishings and a host of amenities. Head up the stairs and into a modern wonderland. The living room is replete with comfortable seating (there is one sofabed), a vaulted ceiling, and windows that let in the bright light on a sunny day. It's the perfect spot for a midday coze or a late-evening glass of wine. The kitchen has all the amenities you could ask for in an intimate abode. A four-burner gas stove means you won't be overcooking your dinner and stainless steel appliances—including a dishwasher—mean you will feel right at home. After carefully crafting your repast, enjoy it on the four-seat dining table, which affords views through myriad windows of the lovely Vermont environs. Enjoy a snack or a cup of joe while swaying to the dulcet sounds of Frank Sinatra on the rocking chair or head out to the charming deck with a powered awning for views of the wooded hills and lawn beyond. One bedroom and one full bath, both modern and inviting, mean up to four people (two adults max) can enjoy their rest here. The bedroom boasts a queen bed, chic wood furniture, bright windows, and high ceilings. The full bath is expansive enough to include a private washer and dryer in addition to the necessary accoutrements. Relax in front of the TV and stream movies with Netflix. Guests have access to free WiFi as well as central AC. Head outside to your own private beach, which is just 200 feet away, down a small private driveway. Here you'll find a fire pit to roast marshmallows and beach chairs to while away the daylight hours during the summer. Don't forget to bring your boat as a small dock and boat launch await nearby (please note that there are no guarantees that the dock will be available to use, as the water level changes seasonally). North Hero is a wonderland for nature lovers. This is the place to go when you truly want to get away from it all. Fishermen head here during the fishing derby to test their pole prowess. North Hero State Park is one of the most scenic and beautiful spots in the state, boasting acres of pristine wilderness. Knight Point State Park and Grand Isle State Park are popular spots for cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. And if you're up for some excitement across the border, bring your passport and head to Montreal just 100 miles north. Relax and unwind with beautiful views and a lakefront location at this Lake Champlain vacation rental. *Please note that because of steep, open stairs, this home may not be suitable for small children under six years old - please call Vacasa for assistance finding a more family-friendly home if you are traveling with small children! Although this home is private, the owner might need access to the garage from time to time. Meals & Room Tax License #MRT-10082226 A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.
  • Absolutely loved this place. The interior was unexpected luxury -- comprehensively clean, brand-new new fixtures/amenities, and comprehensive kitchen appointments. The location was superb, very near the water, with easy access to the local thoroughfare. The water access area was not much, but in fairness, we didn't take advantage of some of the equipment the hosts had laid out (fire pit, chairs, etc.), and it was more than compensated by a local public beach area just down the road, complete with kayak rental, cafe, and a lovely bar/restaurant. Highly recommended!

  • Great location. Very scenic and very quiet area of northern Vermont. Quite picturesque and lovely during the autumn season.

    Joshua2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • I love everything about the apartment. It is located at the end of a private road. It is on top of a garage on its own lot apart from the main house, so lots of privacy since nobody lives beneath. We had a view of the lake from the front widow (The lake across the street), and trees and greenery in the backyard from the kitchen and the back porch. The apartment is tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable, it quickly felt like home for the four days we were there. It's fully accommodated from the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom, the bedroom to the laundry room. The only thing that we needed and was missing, was a clothes iron and iron board which the owner quickly brought over after our request. The apartment is managed by a rental company and they were very responsive via email with my questions before and throughout our stay. I received an email on the day of check-in from the manager who was covering that day to let me know that he was available should I need any help, and I did and the issue was quickly handled in a very efficient and professional manner. I would for sure return to this apartment and would recommend to anyone I know.
