Beautiful, inspiring and peaceful.
Corona virus COVID-19 note: rest assured our studio apartment is thoroughly disinfected and all items are re-washed and dried w/ high heat in between each reservation. A peaceful retreat awaits you in the trees just outside of West Asheville's "locals" downtown! Walkable to Haywood Rd and all our excellent neighborhood restaurants, art and yoga studios, farmers market and pubs. Note: Our house is in a dense suburban residential neighborhood and not outside of town. We have neighbors on all sides but we are lucky that our house is in an urban forest that affords privacy. The studio apartment is below the main house which has its own entrance and outdoor space. Our family lives above and we are very respectful of your privacy. The studio is SMALL one room space (12x15) but well equipped with a hot plate, under counter fridge, small table and 2 chairs and a queen size bed. You have your own small bathroom with 3x3 shower and toilet. Bathroom sink is in kitchenette. A laundry room is right next door and is also available. If you are looking for an unique space that is peaceful and quiet but part of a vibrant creative community you will enjoy staying with us and we will enjoy hosting you!
West Asheville is the best! Quiet and neighborly, it's not like downtown Asheville with hotels and so many tourists but you can get there or the parkway or the Biltmore very quickly by car. Downtown, five minutes, everywhere else, ten minutes. We have our own downtown in West Asheville and there's many excellent restaurants and music venues within walking or biking distance.
  • Jakub and Maria's spot is one of the most beautiful air bnb's I have ever stayed in!!! It was private and cozy, yet a short walk to some hip coffee shops and great breakfast spots, and we loved waking up to a beautiful view of the trees. Absolutely wonderful experience.

  • Jakub & Maria’s place is truly a sanctuary. It is such a cozy comforting space surrounded by nature within a little neighborhood. When you use the 2 screen doors it feels like a porch. It’s a quiet location but you’re just blocks from bustling Haywood. Jakub & Maria respond promptly and provided great recommendations for food and hiking. The bed is comfortable and the outdoor seating options are lovely. It’s a very welcoming environment. Highly recommend!

Come escape to our tiny modern off grid cabin situated in the middle of our private 125 acre mountain top property which backs up to Pisgah National Forest. Wake up to soaring mountain views, hike all day on the Blue Ridge Parkway, grill out and make S'mores over the fire pit, and then roll open the glass garage door to fall asleep under the stars in a comfy bed...just 25 minutes to downtown Asheville! All well behaved dogs are welcome!
Wake up to a breath taking mountain view amidst the trees! Hike the easy nearby trail along the creek into Pisgah National Forest or drive 4 miles up to the blue ridge parkway for some of the best hikes in the area! You can be in downtown Asheville in 25 minutes to enjoy all the amazing food, breweries, and art galleries. The cabin has a comfortable queen size bed, a propane 2 burner cook stove, solar generator to turn on lights and charge cell phones, a water cooler for drinking and washing, and a propane heater if its cold. We provide an outdoor shower with a solar shower camping bag. Attached to the cabin is a very clean porta potty with mountain views that is emptied weekly. The outdoor fire pit is a short stroll from the cabin for making s'mores- bring your own firewood. There is a charcoal grill next to the cabin if you like to grill out. Check out our sweet 2 person swing with epic views! The glass garage door on the front of the cabin opens to beautiful mountain views (it has a roll down bug screen we put out only during the warmer months). The cabin is heated by a propane heater during the winter. CORONA VIRUS UPDATE-PLEASE NOTE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICED- We are recommending you bring your own bedding including pillows/queen size sheets/blankets or sleeping bags. We are spraying down all surfaces in the cabins with a bleach solution and taking the necessary precautions to disinfect everything. We will have bedding available if you cannot bring your own. Bring a cooler with ice in it for your perishables (there is no fridge) and your own towels for bathing. We provide basic cookware, a tea pot, coffee press and a couple 5 gallon jugs of water for you to drink and wash dishes in. We love dogs and know how hard it is to find a place that allows them to come on vacation with you! Potty trained, well behaved, dogs of any size are welcome! Dogs cannot be left in the cabin unattended. If you can't find the dates you want, check out our other awesome cabins by clicking on our Airbnb profile.
The proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all the hiking trails nearby make this neighborhood special!
  • We had an awesome time at the Cabin! It was super clean and cozy. Additionally, it’s proximity to Downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway was perfect for splitting time between the hiking and exploring the downtown food and brewery scene. We came at the tail end of the winter so it was a bit chilly, but the cabin heated up quickly so it was never uncomfortable. Would definitely want to come back and experience it in the warmer months as well!

    Carolyn2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Super cool spot!!

    Sophia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views and very quiet! The cabin was very clean and cozy, just make sure to bring an extra blanket if you go during winter months since it gets chilly up on the hill, but otherwise awesome!

    Michael2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Love the off the grid feels of this cabin. Views and all around spot of this place is the kind of quiet I needed. Was lucky enough to have a perfect snowfall while I was there. Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect weekend.

    Alexis2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This Off-Grid cabin is the perfect getaway for anyone looking to appreciate the outdoors and relax!

  • Amazing view, very beautiful place to stay and enjoy the serene feel.

    Jason2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Simple, beautiful, and quaint! Bring your own french press or coffee bags, extra blankets came in handy for dogs to lay on, and foldable table/chairs were perfect!

Come enjoy seclusion and mountain views in this sweet little off grid cabin tucked back in the woods of our 125 acre private gated mountain top escape near Pisgah National Forest. Hike 150 yards down a flat gravel road to get to the cabin for a retreat from your normal day to day life. Disconnect and enjoy the mountain view, nature and solitude. Bring your dogs. Bring a book and lounge in the hammock. Enjoy the simpler things.
This off grid cabin is located on 125 acres of private land that is gated and backs up to Pisgah National Forest. It is 4 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway and to the top of Mount Pisgah. It is close to all of our favorite hiking spots and swimming holes on the Blue Ridge Parkway! An easy 25 minute drive to Asheville and all of it's amazing food and breweries. The cabin is 100% off the grid: that means solar panels for limited electricity needs, propane heaters help keep the cabin cozy during the winter, and an outdoor shower area. Bring your own bedding and towels. Enjoy our 3 burner propane cook top for cooking, granite countertops, a sink with a water dispenser for drinking water, board games and a very comfortable queen size bed. Lounge in the giant hammock under the trees. We provide a solar shower (5 gallon camping shower bag) that can be heated in the sun and used year around (mind you the shower is outside so plan accordingly with weather). In the summer months we have a heated rain water collection shower that we try to keep up and running. It is temperamental so we keep the solar shower as our primary shower and consider it a bonus if the rain water shower is functioning! We also provide a list of other places to shower if you are staying for a longer period of time and crave a long shower or it is too cold t shower outdoors. The cabin has mountain views through the trees and is tucked back in the woods on a flat gravel road that you will have to walk on to get to the house. You will stop and park near the out house. We provide a wagon to help get your things to the cabin. The outhouse is about 150 yards from the cabin with floor to ceiling glass windows looking out through the tree tops...definitely the best view you have ever seen from an outhouse! The outhouse is cleaned out weekly on Mondays sometime between 8-11 am by a service truck. Our Goal Zero solar generator provides limited electricity to run the solar lights inside the cabin. If it has been cloudy, then the solar generator may not get charged enough to run the lights. We try to keep lanterns and flashlights around as back ups...but it's best if you bring along your own incase the solar generator runs out of power. We do have a back up solar generator that we keep charged in case it stays cloudy for days so please let us know if you need it. During the winter, the space is heated with a propane heater and can stay pretty warm. If they are calling for below freezing temperatures, I would recommend bringing extra blankets or warm sleeping bags. Bring some wood and make s'mores in our fire pit! Bring a cooler for your perishables since we do not have a fridge. We love all dogs of any size and welcome them to come on vacation with you! They will need to be left in crates if left indoors while you are out adventuring in town. We prefer they don't get on our furniture. Bring dog beds along for them. We are happy to be able to provide a dog friendly space since we too are dog owners and lovers....we just request you clean up after them, relocate their poops to the woods, and be sure to sweep up their extra dog hair before you leave.
Our mountain top escape is at the foot of Mount Pisgah and backs up to Pisgah National Forest. The roads are steep, but amazingly paved and engineered. This property was originally intended to be a housing development, but we have purchased it and put it into a Forestry Management Program with EcoForesters. Future plans include a trail system. We have one other Airbnb on this property but they are very far away from each other.
  • Gorgeous cabin and peaceful getaway if you have the chance to book you sure won’t regret it!

  • Exactly what we were looking for!

    Sadie2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Hammock House was everything we could have wanted and more! It was super cozy and offered the most beautiful morning views. We appreciated the location and how it felt secluded but was still a quick drive into downtown Asheville. Haley was great to communicate with and provided a great handbook prior to our stay so we were prepared. We will definitely be back in the future! It was awesome!

    Laura2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • My (now) fiancé and I stayed in hammock house and let me tell you it was the perfect place to propose and then spend the next few days off the grid, making fires in the pit, hanging in the suspended hammock, waking up to glorious sunrise and having a coffee on a chilly morning on the front porch. Everything about this place is awesome, from Haley’s communication, to the detailed thoughtful touches put on the cabin, to the suggestions (do yourself a favor and hit up the sauna house...haven’t been that relaxed since visit the secret lagoon in Iceland). Book this place, you’ll be psyched that you did. 10/10

Our 128 sq ft tiny house is located on Wildwoods Community Farm, a 4-acre nonprofit permaculture farm and dedicated tiny house community. At Wildwoods, our mission is to educate the public on the various facets of sustainable living. We're also only a short 10-minute drive to downtown Carrboro and Chapel Hill. Whether you come for the experience of staying in a tiny house, or just need a cozy place to lay your head, we'll do our best to make sure that your stay is rejuvenating and memorable :)
____________________________________ **COVID-19 Update: As a superhost, the safety and comfort of my guests is my main priority. I have been following the CDC's protocols for disinfecting a space, and want to reassure guests that I will be very thorough in cleaning and preparing the house for you. I also have a flexible cancelation policy to accommodate changing circumstances. ____________________________________ To be able to fit all of the necessities of living into a space that is less than 250 square feet requires careful design and planning. We utilized every square foot in carefully crafting this 128 square foot home that's both functional and beautiful. The home contains a few distinct 'rooms': you first enter into the living room, with an adjustable futon, desk/work space, closet, and a growing book & movie collection. Then you walk back towards the kitchen, with spices, cooking oils, and all the cookware you'd need to make a home-cooked meal for yourselves. The adjacent bathroom contains a toilet and a shower with plenty of hot water on demand. And above you is the wonderfully cozy sleeping loft, with a super comfy queen-sized memory foam bed and window that you can prop open to enjoy the breeze and sounds wafting in from the farm. Undoubtedly, this is a great place to unplug and reconnect with nature: The farm itself is beautiful, and becomes more so every day as we continue to build and cultivate the land. There are also hiking trails just a short walk from the front door. On the other hand, we don't eschew modern conveniences--guests can stay connected on our high-speed fiber wifi :)
There is a lot to explore in this area, but notable attractions in the immediate area are: -Honeysuckle Tea House, serving up teas grown on-site, baked goods, smoothies and occasionally some live music (now open for the season!) -Maple View Farm and Dairy (a local fave for fresh ice cream) -Pickards Mountain Eco-Institute -Keith Arboretum: one of the largest collections of woody plants east of the Mississippi There are also many nice trails and hikes at the nearby Carolina North Forest, and some of the best views in the Piedmont at the Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area in Hillsborough. For a nice day trip, the nearby town of Saxapahaw (20 min away) on the Haw River is a gem, especially on Saturdays with its bustling farmers' market full of food, music, and activities.
  • Cute, cozy, well organized, and stocked with things to make the stay more pleasant. A+ communication from the host as well as outstanding hospitality. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Brandon’s place is was clean comfortable and super cozy. Brandon was communicative and friendly. I hope to come back and stay a few more days in the summertime!

    Lisa2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house we stayed in was stylish. Our first tiny house experience. Beautiful farm. Brandon accommodated our needs, stayed up late until we arrived and let us stay a bit later. Loved the experience! Definitely a must have for your bucket list.

    Lori2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was even better than I could have expected! Extremely well designed and thought out. It was a novelty but was very homey and cozy. We had been on the road for a few weeks and it was the perfect end to our journey. Comfy bed, used the grill, and watched birds! Brandon was a great host and was very helpful and nice to talk to!

    Caroll2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Brandon is a fantastic host. We stayed in the same tiny house a few years ago and it was such a memorable visit, we decided to do it again. It's a great experience if you're looking to do something off the beaten path and enjoy Chapel Hill/Carrboro.

    Goeun2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place! My daughter and I stayed here for a night and it was very comfortable, convenient, quiet, and clean. Brandon is easy to work with and has a great list of local activities and restaurants. This listing will be on the top of our list when we return to the area. Thank you for sharing your tiny house!

    Catherine2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our tiny house stay was a great way to have a relaxing getaway. Brandon was very welcoming and shared his experiences with building tiny homes. Conveniently located not too far from downtown areas but far enough away to find some tranquility. Highly recommend staying here.

Walk back past tall trees, over a small wooden bridge with built-in love seats. Massage tired feet on a polished river-rock shower floor. This rustic 2-story cottage, dating back over 100 years, has whitewashed stone walls and a wood-burning stove.
Gashes Fluss Haus is a 117 year old coach house. The first floor is made of stone.
Surrounded by nature, the home is a short drive to downtown, West Asheville, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
  • This was the absolute perfect stay for my mom and I! It combined my love for a rustic charm and her need for all the comforts of a 5 star hotel. The decor fits the home perfectly and made us feel right at home. Paul was a wonderful host and available for any and all questions!

    Hannah2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Such a charming abode! The white washed walls, super comfy bed, wood stove - tasteful decor made this cottage perfect for our brief stay in Asheville. The location was perfect - 5-10 min drive to downtown AVL and Paul was super accommodating and available. Would love to stay here again!

    Sarah2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is an incredibly cozy cottage with thoughtfully crafted furnishings. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back when we visit Asheville again. The downtown area is just a short drive with many bars/restaurants for whatever you’re looking for.

    David2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was an excellent host and made check in & check out a breeze. The site was beautifully decorated and the woodstove made for a beautiful cozy stay at a majestic home.

    Drake2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was an excellent host, he greeted us when we arrived and showed us how to use the woodstove, which he already started for us before we arrived. This home makes your feel like a family guest vs a renter, the home was very clean with special touches, like fresh flowers in the kitchen and the bed room sheets that smelled so clean and fresh. The bed was very comfortable, and the bed covers kept us warm during the night. During out stay we took a short drive to Black Mountain and Hendersonville. As short drive from the home was a great place to have dinner.

    Nicole2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I had a wonderful time! We will be back!

    Debbie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The location was spot on. The cabin was simple, quaint and well kept. Everything there served a purpose and was well thought out. It’s easy to see the care Paul took in creating this incredible place. Any questions we had, Paul was quick to answer and he even helped show us how to use the cast iron stove to keep warm during our stay. My wife and I are so, so thankful for everything Paul did to make our getaway a memorable one.

    Kevin2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We started our N. Carolinian journey in Asheville and this house did all of the magic in setting the tone for the hinterland adventure. The hearth is the hearth of the home again in this rustic farmhouse. Paul was amazing in accommodating our late check-in and showed great care in showing us how to safely and properly use the wood burning stove that adds so much romance to this space. Romance aside, for which this space is full, all the amenities are here in tip top form.

New listing from superhost! Take a short walk on well lit path to an oasis in the woods. A swinging bridge welcomes you to a quiet, cozy home in the trees, surrounded by native Laurel and abundant hardwoods. Listen to the birds while having your morning coffee on the deck or relax in the hot tub below. The home is located on 14 acres. Old Fort is 10 minutes to Black Mountain and 20 minutes to Asheville.
The treehouse has luxury bedding, LED fireplace, full internet connection, cable tv, heat/air, microwave, cook top, and refrigerator. We have an outdoor shower with hot water and composting toilet, all located on the deck overlooking the forest. Our driveway is approximately 1/3 of a mile long through the woods. We just had new gravel put on the road so your tires may spin slightly going up one of the hills until the gravel is fully packed down. https://bradcapone.com/unique-spaces-tree-house/?fbclid=IwAR3P9k3rTbtj9lUcAUl2x_HI_CgTMldWhM-LTZAzSUcilo5dcZEJJBwlXSY
  • This place was so unique and pristine. My significant other and I had a relaxing long weekend and it was an experience like none other. The treehouse is close to the owners home but still with plenty of privacy. We were able to have her son take us into the Biltmore and back which was fantastic and super convenient. We have some great memories from our treehouse adventure. Would definitely go back in a heartbeat!!

    Jennifer2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • You have to check this place out! Not only is it unique, it is such an amazing place to relax in comfort and style. Every inch of the treehouse is amazing, from the outside shower to the beautiful interior! I cannot say enough that if you want a getaway in a treehouse near Asheville, this is your spot!

    Chelsea2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Fun location. Really enjoyed the hot tub and just listening to Mother Nature. A great spot for those looking to get away. A quick 25 minute drive into downtown Asheville

  • Beautiful, that one word describes it all!!Very thoughtful touches!

    Payton2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Melissas place was over the top extraordinary. From the beautiful decorating to the calming soothing smell to the outdoor shower and toilet that we were a tad skeptical on, but In turn loved immensely. The outdoor shower was so refreshing. We loved loved this experience

    Cassandra2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I have been wanting to stay in a luxury treehouse for a while and Melissa's was everything we expected and more. The inside was beautiful. Her hospitality was superb. Her and her husband were so accommodating. We really appreciate everything. We will be back.

    Shane2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing experience, can't wait to be back. The outside shower in 30 degree weather was amazing. Little touches from the scent of the room, little chocolate's by the bed, donuts to the robes were amazing. The treehouse is romantic and cozy would def recommend to anyone looking for a getaway. Plus, it is only about a 25 minute ride to Asheville. Melissa was a fabulous host.

    Melissa2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • If you're considering it, please stay here! The treehouse was even better than the pictures (if you can imagine that). We had such a romantic night here... from the small touches like the chocolate and beer she left for us in the fridge, to the matching robes... we did not want to leave! It could not have been better. Melissa was very quick to respond to all of our questions. We felt right at home. It was secluded enough that it felt very intimate, but close enough to their house on the property that we felt safe. We want to come back every year!

    Paige2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had never use Air BNB before and asked questions before booking. We really appreciate the great communication and how nice they were to answer our questions especially given how last minute our trip was. I don't always sleep well on a bed that is not my own, but we both slept great. This was the perfect size for us and was very clean. And the hot tub was the icing on the cake! We are already looking at when we can go back. :) I would be happy to stay there or in another location of theirs. In case it helps anyone else decide, this location feels very comfortable. And it is a very short drive to go to Wrightsville Beach. Certainly recommend !!

Welcome! Our modern suite offers a cozy bed-n-bath combo with private entry from the deck. Watch Netflix on TV from the bed, breathe easy with a diffuser, store leftovers in the mini fridge, and wake up to Keurig coffee in the morning! The memory foam mattress is also new. We are located in a quiet, wooded neighborhood near the “Crossroads” of US-1 and I-40, just a short drive to anywhere in the Triangle. We can give plenty of local recommendations, too. We look forward to hosting you!
We love our house and do our best to make it nice. Everything is newly remodeled. We are happy to provide essentials for your stay - towels, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, etc. Note: the TV has Netflix and YouTube but not cable or other services. The Modern suite also has an electric air unit mounted for both hot and cold air. The remote is in the desk drawer. Please turn the unit off when not in use (like when you go out). The house also has central air, but the electric unit provides extra comfort and control.
Our neighborhood is wooded and peaceful. There is no traffic or roadway noise. Most of the houses were built in the 1970s. Please park in the driveway if it doesn't have other cars or on the street directly in front of the house.
  • Perfect sized space for one or two people. Everything right there in the room, shower, coffee maker, fridge, and clean towels. Separate exterior entrance has a cute little porch to have a morning coffee. Comfy bed.

  • If I could give this place 7 stars- I would. Set in the perfection location with multiple eateries in close proximity. This place is clean and has a quaint vibe. In the event I return for an overnight stay in Raleigh, I will check here first.

  • My boyfriend and I loved this space so much! It was extremely clean, such a cute space, had everything we needed (fridge, microwave, silverware) and was a perfect location to explore Raleigh and the surrounding areas! Will definitely stay here again when we’re in NC!

Take in the rustic, fairy tale vibe of this custom-made treehouse in the midst of towering white oaks. Recline in a rocking chair and watch the sunset over the mountains, or try your hand at some stargazing from the comfort of the deluxe double bed. If your travel dates are not available on this calendar, visit on of our sister properties! See all of our listings at airbnb.com/p/treehousesofserenity
You have seen us on TV!! This treehouse was built via an episode of The Treehouse Guys, on the DIY network which aired August of 2017! Just as exciting as an hour TV show, we were also featured in an HGTV & Travel Channel Facebook video which has been viewed more than 10 million times! Not to mention, local TV and print news. Treehouses of Serenity is located in north Asheville, just 10 short minutes from downtown. The treehouse offers 2 decks, one off of the main level facing west for the ultimate sunset viewing, and one off the bedroom to enjoy the sun rising with a warm cup of coffee. The main level consists of a cozy living area, kitchen (refrigerator, microwave, two burner hot plate), and bathroom with conventional toilet, stoned floored shower with rain head. Upstairs you will fall asleep while gazing at the stars through 2 triangle windows high in the treehouse peak. There is a double bed made up with high quality sheets and pillows for your comfort. Two adults can comfortably sleep in the double bed. The fold-out style couch on the main level would ideally sleep one adult or 2 small children. Other features that you will find when visiting the treehouse; antique furnishings, red oak floors, 2 wall mounted mini split units for heat and air, TV with Netflix and an Amazon Fire stick (no cable), WIFI, coffee, tea and electric outdoor grill.
The treehouse is built on an 8-acre parcel, 10 minutes from downtown Asheville. The property is within easy driving distance of restaurants, grocery stores, and the local visitor center. The area is wooded, but you will hear some road noise in the distance. We are excited to be expanding! In addition to this treehouse, we are currently building 4 additional treehouses, as well as an underground hobbit-like home. All of these new units will be available in early 2020, if not before.
  • This is a one of a kind opportunity! We road tripped it from Dallas-Fort Worth just to stay in the treehouse! It was worth every second of the drive! Caroline and Mike were amazing from giving us tours of their current builds to suggesting hikes and restaurants! We will definitely be back and can’t wait for friends and family to go too! The treehouse is even better than pictured! Huge thanks to these amazing hosts!!

    Jenna2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely staying again!!!

    Em2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay! The treehouse exceeded our expectations and Caroline couldn’t have been sweeter when we reached out for some helpful suggestions. It was equal parts relaxing and romantic. My husbands favorite part was feeling the treehouse sway (just a little) in the wind! Such a unique experience and so close to all that Asheville has to offer. Can’t wait to return!

    Kelly2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning property. The perfect place to clear your mind and disconnect. The property does not disappoint. Everything you need and want while being able to experience an environment like no other.

  • Everything about our stay was wonderful! I hate that we only were able to stay one night. You definitely need more than one night to enjoy everything.

    Josie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z

    Melissa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Carolina & Mike, Heather and I, feel like words can’t describe the fabulous experience we had for our “2020” Valentine’s getaway. This is a unique one of a kind Tree House design, its sensual home away from home effect was captivating. We thank you for creating a space that provides a relaxed, cozy atmosphere that allowed us to completely unwind in serenity. The Flowers! Specifically the bottle of Rosé were a special touch we definitely enjoyed. Can’t wait for the new treehouse projects to be completed and what they have to offer, we’ll make plans for lodging in those as well. Carolina & Mike’s hospitality and attention made us feel like family! Thank you guys! The Garcia’s.

Welcome to our horse sanctuary. This tiny house is located on our horse rescue farm in Asheville North Carolina. The tiny house comes with a hot tub, a queen bed, a single bed, a full shower with hot water, a real flush toilet, heating and air-conditioning, plus a small kitchenette. Feel free to feed the horses and interact with the barn cat, Zach. We are located about 15 minutes to downtown Asheville, and 10 minutes to West Asheville and the River Arts District.
When you book this listing you are supporting a local hospitality business that pays its cleaners, maintenance staff, and customer service staff like me a living wage. We are locals of Asheville and your patronage goes to support the horse farm and our employees. This tiny house was custom built to support up to three people. There is a loft bed that is a queen size, and another bed on the other wall that is a full-size. We of course provide towels, linens, soap, and shampoo. A lot of tiny houses have a composting toilet, however ours is hooked up to sewer and is fully functional. We have hot water in the shower and a kitchenette to make small meals. We usually have coffee available. The hot tub is behind the privacy fence and is only for guests of the tiny house. We ask that you shower before using the hot tub. We regularly treat and maintain the cleanliness of the water.
We are within a few miles of a grocery store and several good restaurants in Asheville. To get to downtown Asheville is about a 15 minute drive, and it’s about 10 minutes to the very popular West Asheville. Uber is readily available at this location. A tiny house is located on our 10 acre horse farm with other properties that are set up as short term rentals.
  • The tiny house was absolutely adorable and very clean when we arrived. The area is gorgeous and very quiet which was a great addition to cute homey ambiance of the space. Check-in and check-out were very easy as well. Zach the barn cat came right to us to say hello and even hung out for a while. Could not recommend this home more than I already do. Thank you to the great hosts!

    Nick2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was amazing and was far beyond my expectations. Everything was decorated so nicely and made it feel very welcoming. The animals on the property were all really friendly and added even more to the experience.

    Dakota2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect get away for a couple or for a solo traveler. Truly felt like we were on a farm.

  • Amazing and unique stay!! Friendly cat and horses on the property. Host was very responsive. Super close to downtown. We will definitely be recommending to our friends!!

    Brandi2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Outdid my expectations for this place. Seriously comfortable and I felt like I was coming to my own home. The sweetest kitties hang around and the horses in the morning are a nice touch. Everything is super clean and Tom creates a binder with everything you need if it’s your first time. Definitely booking this place again when I come back. ❤️

    Rina2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy Tony house close to town with a hot tub. Great hosts, and a barn cat to boot.

    Dylan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was perfect & cozy for our stay! Quick 12min drive to downtown Asheville. Great location to get to nearby trails. Very quiet and private.

    Melissa2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most excellent stay the Tiny House! Perfect space for me and my fiancé, parking was easy, getting in with directions was easy, hot tub was a wonderful addition to our stay as well! Only downside to our entire stay was we couldn’t get the tv to work at all. Wasn’t too big of an issue, but would’ve been nice to have. Overall, was an excellent overnight getaway and we will definitely be back!

Welcome to our (320sf/29m) rustic 'stuga'. We live 20 minutes from Asheville and 7 minutes to the quaint river town of Marshall. Folks love our place for the homemade character of the cabin, mountain views and interesting farm setting. It is perfect for couples or a single traveler seeking minimalist simplicity. Doggies welcome too! Un-plug in style while enjoying proximity to major sights, with starry night skies and a sunrise over our orchards and gardens.
Rustic elegance. Our cozy cabin is two-stories tall, on top of a hill overlooking our 'home hill' of 2.5 acres covered in young fruit shrubs and nut trees. On the first floor is the kitchen, small dining area and porch. Upstairs is a full-size bed and reading nook with mtn views. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, an electric burner, spices, oil, and a water heater (for coffee or tea), small fridge, and drinking water. The water system is rustic, but it works well. Fill up your own water from the spigot nearby. The cabin has an outhouse a short walk away, but no shower or bath. In cold weather, there is a space heater and a Turkish wood cookstove, the cabin is tight and heats up easily in winter. There's a garden fence that doubles as a pet enclosure (Yes, your doggies are welcome!) a fire ring for enjoying the nighttime out-of-doors and 3 miles of interesting walks and steep trails around the neighborhood that we have developed. We are slowly building an outhouse & seasonal bathhouse close to the cabin. People have booked our cabin for romantic getaways, for personal writing and music retreats but mainly for it's awesome proximity to hiking and culture. Many folks come to get a feel for staying in a tiny home and for it's interesting array of plants.
The neighborhood is rich with interesting people and projects, including an artisan cheese dairy and the 'Prama Institute and Wellness Center'. Geoff is an agro-forester who has helped develop most of the trails and planted fruit and nut trees around the neighborhood. You may notice that we are building a second larger guesthouse with attached greenhouse This is a great weekend getaway for people wanting to get away from the city, enjoy a taste of Asheville, read and write, or become engaged to their partner (twice happened!) Dogs are welcome and we are an affordable option to host small 40+\- person wedding ceremonies and receptions.
  • My girl friend and I had a wonderful time escaping for the weekend. It was a cold weekend, but we were able to keep the cabin cozy with the wood stove. The property is beautiful and a wonderful retreat. I brought my dog with me, she truly enjoyed the fenced property exploring all of the unique smells and basking in the afternoon sunshine. We were impressed with the composting toilet and its ease of use, we were both curious how we would like it during our trip. It's a bit of a hike from the house at night, but easy enough. It'll be great when the outhouse by the cabin is finished for guests convenience. Everything was clean and as expected. We can't wait to visit and un-plug again!

    Charity2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A quaint and peaceful cabin tucked in the North Carolina mountains makes for a true unplug and relax experience. There’s lots to do locally and the wood burning stove was a true treat to use on the snowy, cold night we stayed. It was perfect for keeping the cabin warm and cooking on- we didn’t need the space heater that was provided. It was a nice treat and getaway.

    Megan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cute little cabin was an amazing getaway! It was so cozy and even though it was tiny, it felt so spacious! It was so peaceful and beautiful, especially in the morning when the hills were covered in fog and the birds were singing.

    Denise2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The hilltop cabin is adorable and the views are wonderful. Not only can you see the mountains from the kitchen table, but if you walk just a bit up the hill to the left of the cabin you'll have an even better view. The cabin was clean, easy to find, and stayed warm all through the night.

  • A wonderful experience!

    Sarah2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our brief stay was comfortable and cozy, despite the cooler temps and rain outside, thanks to a space heater and the fluffiest comforter ever. The space is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and has tons of books for your longer stay. We really appreciated the local magazines and the map of the property for planning our time there. Thank you guys!

Out in farm country. Houses are several hundred yards apart and not visible to one another.
  • The bus is a lot bigger than the pictures show. Julie is very quick whenever something is needed. My bus ride was very late, and we arrived past check out time. Even though it was past 10 PM, Julie still showed my lover & I around the bus and made sure that we knew how to work the gas stove! The outdoor shower is amazing!! The water is very warm and the outside breeze and being surrounded by trees brings peaceful bliss. We have surely enjoyed our experience here. It was a grounding a peaceful experience to take a break from using my phone and being out in the world. Hearing the roosters every morning was really cool. Thanks Julie!

    Camille2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The bus was super charming, it was a wonderful experience to be out in the woods with a wood burning stove and peace of mind. Julie was very kind and explained everything we needed to know. We had a very pleasant stay!

  • The 1953 bus camper is a great experience if you like camping, but also like a comfy bed. The bus gives good shelter, offers plenty of room, and is set amidst the woods close to her house. We found plenty to do in nearby Pittsboro. Julie is an excellent host and we had a wonderful time. A great place to stay if you are adventurous.

Everything is either within walking distance, available on site, or a short drive away. Rodanthe is an amazing part of the island and centrally located on the Outer Banks! Being that it's the smallest section and directly next to the wildlife refuge, the beaches are a lot less crowded than the beaches north in Nags Head or south in Avon. There are a few restaurants (only 1 late night bar) and other conveniences nearby but outside of that, the island is quiet and relaxing. If you are here for kiteboarding, Hatteras Island Sail Shop (HISS) is down the road, Barton and his son Reider are hands down the people to see if you're looking for lessons or anything surf/kite, they will give you a great value and a more personal experience. Special discount to our guests on lessons and rentals with HISS making this the best deal on the island for kiteboarding lessons! Watermans/REAL is about 2 miles away. They have live music nightly and a restaurant in the summer along with a great sunset view. There are a few other local restaurants within walking/biking distance and all locally run. Hatteras Lighthouse is a 30 minute drive away and the Bodie Lighthouse is 20 minutes away. You can ride horses on the beach in Buxton only 30 minutes away or you can get a surf lesson by your host, Jeremy, with given notice before your stay.
  • This place exceeded my expectations by a long shot its absolutely beautiful the beach is so close and Dawn and Jeremy are so nice! Will most definitely be back and not only is Dawn's family amazing so is everyone here in town! I cant say enough about how absolutely incredible our stay was!!

    Kirstin2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • This super spacious cottage was perfect for my family of 5 (one of us is furry with paws!) We met Jeremy and he was super informative about what to expect with the area and made us feel welcome and comfortable staying next to his family home. Having access to the beach right across the street allowed us to spend every single day there. The outdoor shower right outside the cottage was perfect for cleaning up after each beach day. We checked out Cape Hatteras light house, the Salvo Sound area, and different beach spots. The local restaurants were tasty but pricey! I would absolutely recommend Dawns place to anyone and definitely plan on coming back! Thank you guys again!

    Briana2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn's place is a FANTASTIC place to stay! It's perfect for two people, looking to get away and relax. Rodanthe is pretty much mid-way down the outer banks and is in a perfect location. Exactly what you'd expect from the quaint, windswept dunes and perfect sand beaches. Not a lot of hustle and bustle but that is exactly what we wanted. Dawn is VERY responsive and was full of great suggestions! HIGHLY recommend this property!

    Steve2019-10-20T00:00:00Z

  • I couldn't have asked for a better host or location! My boyfriend and I were in need of a break from city living, and Dawn's beach "shack" was the perfect spot. It was cozy and comfortable, and just steps from the Atlantic and the Sound. Dawn is fantastic - and couldn't have been more understanding and hospitable when the weather threw us a few curve-balls. We hope to be back soon!

    Audrey2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! We enjoyed the location being only steps from the beach and not far from some restaurants and shops. The amenities were very nice with provided beach chairs, outdoor shower to remove sand, and a nice pool. Overall a great value for the location. We especially loved being greeted by Miss Kitty when we headed out to explore the area each day. Highly recommend.

*Permitted homestay*16-05428 Your own cottage ( no shared space other than patio- with me) in the heart of East West Asheville. River Arts district is 5 minutes away by car. Unique two-story cottage built by owner. It looks and feels like a house you may find in Morocco or Majorca . It's only four years old , but built to look like an old villa. Heating and air conditioning on both levels, ceiling fan above bed. 100 % cotton bedding and throws are throughout the house. All natural cleaning products, shampoo, and soaps.Previously named The Mermaid Cottage. 5 minutes from Biltmore Estate. Walking distance to Haywood Rd. Owl Bakery, Hole Donuts, Short Street Cakes, The Apple Orchard Cider house, Walk and my favorite for dinner, 5 star restaurant The Admiral or delicious gluten free eclectic- Bim Beri Bon are walking distance or a 3 minute drive. Whist is a very cool paper goods and many cute things store on Haywood a few blocks from the house. Two cats, Rue (gray) and Gingko (black) live on the property and sometimes wander around the cottage door looking for an ear scratch. Chickens also live on the south side of the property. Cats and dogs live in my house- the blue one.
This neighborhood of mostly bungalows is friendly, low key, just within walking distance to Haywood Road's restaurants and Carrier Park. Places like The Admiral, Owl Bakery, Hole Donuts, Taco Billy and Bim Beri Bon are all above average.

  • I could not recommend a more perfect home to stay at in the Asheville area. It is close to anything you could want to do in the Asheville area and is in a lovely neighborhood. The house itself had so much charm and so many thoughtful touches. The decor was unique and really made the stay feel like an experience. There was an abundance of amenities (snacks, toiletries, etc.) and Camille made us feel so welcome. Everything was seamless and staying at this home was the perfect end to our Asheville vacation. I would recommend this AirBnB to anyone and everyone visiting Asheville!

  • The Moroccan cottage was amazing. It felt like vacation from the minute I walked in! I will stay there again.

  • I'm still glowing after my stay at Camille's gorgeous cottage. I needed a restful and inspiring vacation, and this certainly gave me all that and more. The space is both calming and uplifting, cozy and beautiful. Camille has added all sorts of thoughtful details (the heated blanket was beyond!) that make this by far my favorite Airbnb I've stayed at. The pictures don't do it justice (and they're gorgeous pictures), so if you're looking at this listing do yourself a favor and book a stay right now.

  • The Mermaid Cottage was my favorite Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. Two of us went for a weekend getaway and loved every minute there. The decor was exceptional with every little detail there to make us feel comfortable and relaxed. Camille left us a sweet note with snacks and was so friendly when we ran into each other on the way to the car for dinner. We said within a few hours of being there that we would tell all of our friends to stay there when they come to Asheville. I read many reviews before staying there and can tell anyone that this is a must-stay spot! It’s in an excellent location with tons of great restaurants, it feels very safe, amenities are perfect and aplenty (soap, snacks, blankets, towels etc.), and the hostess is excellent. We knew we could get in touch with Camille for anything we needed, but she was not at all in our way. This was the most wonderful weekend and I can’t wait to book the Mermaid Cottage again. Thanks so much!

  • Awesome location and absolutely amazing tree house on the property. The tiny house was exactly that and I think best for one person. With a little more seating, I can see it working for two. Cool area and very kind hosts.

  • Highly recommend staying here. The area is absolutely breathtaking. There are plenty of things to do on the property in nature. The hosts are so welcoming and genuinely cared about my experience. They let me feed the goats with them and even took me sledding on the property! I highly recommend staying here!

  • Great price for a weekend getaway! We only stayed for one night, and didn’t have time to explore like we wanted, so we’ll be back! The space is tight, namely the bed area, but for a cozy couple it was perfect. The house got cold at night, but the loft stayed warm and the space heater helped. We arrived after dark and the extra directions from Rock were extremely helpful. We will definitely come back and stay longer!

Welcome! Our modern "boho" suite is spacious, cozy, and private. In the living room, you can watch Netflix on TV or get some work done at the desk. Then when it's time for sleep, you can move to the bedroom, shut the barn door, and curl up in bed by the fireplace. Wake up refreshed in the morning with our coffee station (Keurig, fridge, microwave, & table). We're located in a quiet neighborhood that's a short drive to anywhere in the Triangle. We can give plenty of local recommendations, too!
We love our house and do our best to make it nice. The whole guest suite is private for you. Everything is newly remodeled. We are happy to provide essentials for your stay - towels, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, etc. Note: the TV has Netflix and YouTube but not cable or other services.
Our neighborhood is wooded and peaceful. There is no traffic or roadway noise. Most of the houses were built in the 1970s. Please park in the driveway if it doesn't have other cars or on the street directly in front of the house.
  • Great apartment! It was clean and the bathroom had all needed amenities. I was surprised to see that the host had extra small details, like hot chocolate packets, q-tips, first aid kit, etc. Thank you for letting us stay!

  • My girlfriend and I rented out the tiny for a weekend getaway. The hospitality was great, and when it snowed, Rock and Kristallyn even shoveled the steps for us. Very close to an awesome animal sanctuary called farmony, also just a short drive to downtown Marshall and only about a half hour to Asheville. Very easy to find, everything was clean and comfortable and we will definitely be back again. There is an amazing tree fort and several awesome views to see on the property.

Beautiful, spacious walk-out basement apartment overlooking mountains, forest, and river. Unwind in the hot tub after hiking. Enjoy complimentary coffee on your deck. Let nature lull you to sleep on the king size bed. Relax and rejuvenate in this lovely and romantic retreat, just minutes from most attractions: 2-4 miles: Blue Ridge Parkway, Highland Brewery, Folk Art Center 5-7 miles: Downtown Asheville, River Arts District 9 miles: Biltmore Estate, Black Mountain
The walk-out basement apartment is light and bright; each of its 4 rooms offers various views of mountains, forest, and the Swannanoa River. Glass doors in your living room and kitchen open to decks and the hot tub - for your use alone. The hosts live upstairs and are available if requested, but otherwise honor your privacy. Enter via the kitchen door with a keypad lock. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, and dinnerware and glasses/stemware (both indoor & outdoor). A dining table for two offers a great place for breakfast or a spot to plan your day. The living room features a comfy couch and other seating, and a 42” HDTV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, PBS, and YouTube TV, which offers network affiliates, cable news, and many sports channels. The huge bedroom opens to the living room via a wide doorway (see photos), and offers a super comfy king-size bed with side tables and lamps on both sides. The dressing area features a dresser, mirror, and plenty of outlets, as well as a large closet with iron and ironing board. In the hall, you’ll find shelves full of books, puzzles, games, brochures on Asheville, and apartment safety equipment. The bath features a window with mountain views, a 4x3-ft. shower with complimentary Tea Tree Oil shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and sink with a large vanity. You’ll find extra towels, a hair dryer, and first aid kit under the sink, and plenty of wall shelves for your things. Great vanity lighting, outlets, and an automatic night light. On the decks just outside your kitchen and living room doors is a private deck with chairs and side tables. The hot tub sits on its own deck just a few steps down from the kitchen door. The view from the decks is of mountains (Lane Pinnacle figures prominently), the Swannanoa River below, and wooded slopes.
We live in a beautifully wooded and quiet family neighborhood one mile outside the Asheville city limits. The neighborhood is bordered by the Swannanoa River. We are a short drive to parks, attractions, breweries, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and downtown Asheville. Please drive 20 mph or slower in our neighborhood. There are lots of blind curves and often pedestrians in the road, as there are no sidewalks.
  • Miriam and Patrick were easy to access if anything was needed. Their place was the perfect peaceful and private get-away. The description was accurate down to the items included in the kitchen and bathroom which made packing a breeze!

    Stephanie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The place is stunning and breath taking. I could hear the river from the hot tub above while taking in the mountain view. Bed was so comfortable. All the fine touches I could tell went into the place was so grateful to be able to stay in this amazing location close to all the hiking, downtown Asheville, and Biltmore. Amazing host supper friendly could so come back to stay again.

  • Wonderful place to stay! Amazing hospitality with personal touches that make you feel welcome.

    Julia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Possibly the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in. We love Asheville but wanted some quiet time for our anniversary. This airbnb is perfect for going downtown but not staying downtown. You can hear the river from Miriam's place and there is a beautiful view. We felt so very welcome in this spot with all the extra touches. There was tons of literature on local places to go and see. We were able to go on a nice hike from the recommendations in the apartment. The hot tub is such and amazing extra! The instructions provided helped us to use it properly and not have to ask for help. Our privacy was really respected. The space is cozy but large enough to hang out in for a few days. Miriam had a fresh water filter and a couple of bagels. This was such a delightful find because we arrived later than anticipated and didn't have time for groceries. I even left a blanket behind and they shipped to me after my visit with no trouble! I can't recommend this stay enough. Great location, comfortable accommodations, and wonderful hosts. We intend to return the next time we visit!

  • Excellent place to stay. Private, quiet, clean, and close to everything

    Brenda2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Miriam and Patrick are wonderful host. The location is the perfect balance of far enough out to be secluded but close enough in to town for amazing food and great beer! My favorite part was definitely the sound of the river in the background of the amazing scenery. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and quiet or romantic stay in Asheville!

    Preston2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing!! This home is seriously wonderful. Far enough away to have some peace and quiet (and pretty views) but also close enough to easily drive into downtown Asheville. The bed was super comfy, and the hot tub was perfect for the cold winter nights. Amazing stay and will definitely be checking this place out in the future to see it in all the different seasons. Highly recommended!

The "Miss Molly" treehouse has been the subject of many discussions as possibly the best treehouse in the Carolina's. Its a roomy 220 sq. ft and features Heat/Ac, Shower, Toilet, TV and DVD player. It has a very comfortable nook where you can enjoy the TV, a good book, or even take a short nap. The large deck offers a great view over the property and has two rocking chairs as well as a bistro table for eating at.

Inspired by the Iroquoi longhouse and Ryan’s off-the-grid childhood, The Roost is an arched tiny home, framed with birch saplings. High atop a ridge, enjoy year-round views of the mountains from the porch. Hike up the ridge or cozy up by the wood stove with a book. Grill out, start a campfire or listen to the sounds of Bee Tree Creek in the hammock. Nightlife, food, coffee and breweries in Asheville and Black mountain are 15 minutes away. It's an hour to Great Smokey Mountains National Park!
THE ROOST A 12’ x 12’ tiny house with a back porch on a ridge. Looking for an alternative place to stay near Asheville? In the winter months light floods the The Roost through three large windows by day, and by night you can enjoy the warmth of candles and twinkle lights. In the summer, leaves cover the canopy, and with screens on all of the windows and a fan you’ll keep cool. The floors are reclaimed mixed wood and decorated with woven rugs. Because of the slope of the ridge the back porch is suspend about six feet off the ground giving visitors the feeling that they’re in a tree house. If The Roost is not available the days your looking for please check out our other Air BnB on the property, The Starling. Sleeping: Inside the longhouse you’ll find a comfortable full mattress that sleeps 2. The Roost can easily sleep a third using our tri-folding memory foam floor mattress. If you want the extra mattress you will need to let us know so we can be sure to bring it up for you. Cooking: We provide an electric hot plate for cooking, electric kettle, a wood stove, a dining table and clean water for drinking and washing up. The kitchen is stocked with plates, bowls, cups, silverware, wine tool, french press, a frying pan and a cooler for your perishables. Outside you’ll find a gas grill and fire pit for outdoor cooking. Showering: The roost has enough water inside for drinking and cleaning up. We do provide a Pocket Shower and a showering platform just outside. Heat water on the stove or fill the shower up with hot water from the spigot on the outside of our main house and then hang it on the designated line and there ya go. You are outside... so you might want to bring a bathing suit but it's not necessary. Below is a link showing the proper use of the Pocket Shower. We’ll also have instructions at the longhouse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B33xj0tBNxc Bathroom: The board and baton outhouse is just down the trail about 75 feet. We have a great flashlight for you to get around in the dark and the outhouse is fully equipped with toilet paper and hand sanitizer for you. Cell phone and internet: There is minimal to zero cell phone service. If you have a smart phone or computer, WiFi is available by walking about 200 feet over to our main house (hopefully soon we’ll have wifi in the longhouse itself) You can connect to it to make phone calls and send texts through the internet. There is a bench in our clearing you can sit on while using the internet. OUTDOOR ACTIVITY Enjoy twilight from the hammock hanging just outside or light the fire pit and have a drink while you relax. My wife and I are working on a network of hiking trails up "Rhododendron Ridge” where you can walk through forests of hemlock, maple, poplar, chestnut, oak, and of course, the aforementioned rhododendron. SURROUNDING AREAS 15 Minutes to the west in Asheville, and the same to the east in Black Mountain, you’ll find top-notch dining, coffee, music, and nightlife. Plus, Pisgah Brewing Company is less than 7 miles away with live musical performances and incredible brews. The Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forrest, packed with hiking trails, is 10 minutes away, and Great Smokey Mountains National Park is just over an hour away. Charles Owen Park is less than 2 miles away with a playground, baseball field, fishing pond, and hiking trails leading through Warren Wilson College. We’ll provide you with a list of our favorite places to eat, drink and hike. Note: The parking space is about 150 feet from The Roost. A path leads you up a 30 foot elevation gain from parking to The Roost. If you arrive after dark you’ll need a flashlight (or cell phone) to get up the trail.
The neighborhood is a quiet country community in the mountains of NC. Bee Tree Road is mostly locals. In the summer you can only catch distant glimpses of other houses through the woods.
  • If you’re looking to relax and get off the grid a bit (but still be 20min to downtown Asheville) this is absolutely the place for you. Cozying up to the wood burning stove and enjoying the great views was a perfect way to spend a winter night. Would definitely go back!

    Alex2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful! Can’t wait to return!

    Shiyan2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Roost was perfectly cozy. It rained the night I stayed with my pup, but the sound of the rain on the roof was so comforting. We rested very easily with the candles lit, the rain, and the cozy temp.

    Jenna2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking at this review trying to decide whether to book The Roost or not- book it now! The attention to detail inside the cabin, the hospitality from Ryan and Alyson, and the location makes this place such a great place to get away and relax. My dog and I had a wonderful time here and I hope to be back in the future!

    Manuel2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The coziest little nook in the woods with a great hiking trail! We cooked meals on the wood burning stove and woke up to a few inches of snow when we were there - it was so beautiful. Our dog really enjoyed the stay as well. Even though it feels very isolated, Ryan is only a small walk away and is so accommodating for everything you need.

    Kennedy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was a gorgeous area and a really fun stay. Be forwarned, the stove gets that place very, very warm.

    Harold2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • It is such a pretty place, very clean, they also give very easy instructions how to use the stove. Had the room completely prepared in case we needed something else and seemed very open to us contacting them if we needed extra miscellaneous items.

    Kelly2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at the Roost was such an amazing experience! It was so easy to say "heck yeah!" because the Roost is so charming & unique but also the reviews were amazing. Our stay was way better than we expected. Waking up to the views were fantastic. It was super clean and cozy. Alyson and Ryan made a great binder full of instructions and suggestions (like explaining how to use the wood burning stove and telling us about a hiking trail that was insanely awesome). I got the chance to meet and talk with Ryan and he was extremely nice. Everyone must take on this adventure!!

Equipped with picnic table and ample seating you will enjoy late nights under the stars roasting dinner and dining together around a warm fire. We have made sure to provide firewood for your use, but with all of the rain we have been having, please be sure to keep the wood covered. Enjoy amenities such as internet, propane cooktop with cast iron pan provided, mini fridge and electricity to make your stay as convenient and hassle free as possible. We also have the luxury of a full bathroom, toilet vanity and shower included along with a heater for the chilly winter days. The tipi itself is equipped with both heat and air conditioning (and is fully insulated). Sit back and unwind in our hand crafted reclined chairs and dim the lights on the unique antler chandelier. No worries about the late night, you can enjoy a hot cup of coffee on the porch the next morning after being gently awoken to the natural light and countless singing birds in the canopy of trees you gaze out on. In your city escape you will truly feel like you're in paradise and all within minutes of restaurants, shopping, late night drinks and ample activities for families and couples alike. Just 2 miles from Downtown Marshall, 20 minutes from Hot Springs, and 25 minutes from Downtown Asheville you'll truly love how off the beaten path you feel with all the convenience of adventure at your fingertips. We have a nice bring a bottle, leave a bottle of wine policy at the tipi. If you open a bottle of wine with the intent to drink it, but do not have a chance to replace it, no worries. We have a $10.00 fee you can place in the wine box for your convenience. We will also happily send you a request if you would prefer to pay for the wine through the Airbnb site instead. But please let us know so we can replace the bottle for the next guest to enjoy! (It really helps us to know to bring the extra bottle during the changeover for next guests! So thanks in advance!) In regards to your furry friends; we will only accept your well behaved dogs with a 30.00 pet fee, the understanding that they are not allowed on the furniture, you are responsible any damages incurred while they are staying at our location and prior discussion with us. Due to the lack of respect of other guests about communicating about our pet policy, if you bring a pet without prior discussion we will charge a 60.00 deep cleaning fee and make sure to note it on your review as a guest. Communication is so important to us, please never hesitate to ask questions or to let us know what your needs are! We strive to make every guest's stay with us to be special and enjoyable retreat. Looking forward to hosting you.
The neighborhood is quaint and neighbors are very friendly although seldom seen as our properties are quite spaced. The roughly 2 mile drive up from Downtown Marshall is a pleasant windy road decorated with wild flowers at the right time of year and pops of beautiful views along the way. You will truly enjoy the drive.
  • This is a great stay if you want a fun and unique experience!

    Danielle2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a neat experience staying in a tipi in the mountains! Enjoyed the fire pit at night and when we woke in the morning it was snowing. We stayed warm with the blankets, heaters and the bathroom has a heater too. Don't pass up this opportunity if it is available.

  • Such a cool experience. We had a great time staying here. Would highly recommend to anyone! Beautiful and one of a kind! Very convenient to downtown. Very nice hosts!

  • Glamping at its finest. The town is picture perfect. Jennifer, the host, has really thought of everything to ensure her guest have a great time.

  • Jennifer was a great host! The Tipi is amazing.

    Mitchell2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The tipi was awesome. The heaters kept it nice and warm for us. It is much bigger than expected. It is close to Marshall so that's a plus for us since we love that small town. I wish we could of had another day to enjoy the outdoor fire pit and grill. Sit back and enjoy the quietness of the woods.

    Joel2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Coolest Airbnb stay I’ve had. Off the beaten path and in a private area. It snowed and was freezing temps but we had a ton of blankets and two heaters which kept out tipi nice a cozy. Bathroom was amazing considering you are camping but water has a strong sulfur smell, would recommend bringing some water to brush teeth etc if you are sensitive to that. Perfect weekend getaway, will definitely be back.

    Jordyn2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous unique stay , so close to town!!! All the amenities were a shock ! Everything you could possibly want. I’ve stayed in tipis before but without the glamping amenities. Will DEFINITELY be coming back as soon as we can !! Our kids loved it , too , of course.

Budget accommodations in a 900-square-foot duplex home on a quiet street in downtown Raleigh, steps away from Red Hat Amphitheater, Duke Performing Arts Center, Raleigh Convention Center and Shaw University. *NO Cleaning Fee* No need for a car, as you can walk to all the above places in 10 minutes or less. Union Station, Museums and State Capitol are all within 20 mins walking. All the restaurants and bars downtown has to offer are a short walk away.
**While nice enough, clean and with everything you need, this is budget accommodations walking distance to downtown. It is homey and safe, but still an old low-income house. This is not a hotel or luxury accommodations. I simply wanted to provide a place for people on a budget that want a place to themselves with a kitchen right in downtown Raleigh and don't need a new modern place. In these terms, there is no better deal! But please adjust your expectations (and read about 'The Neighborhood' section before booking).** The outside may not look so pretty as it is an old government housing duplex from 70's but the inside has been renovated and rebuilt 20 year ago, doesn't look new or modern but is well-maintained. It is clean and tidy, with nice beds and furnishings, but it is simple and still an old house. The kitchen is equipped for cooking, but simply so the basics but nothing fancy. A/C is strong for those hot days. Wi-Fi is very fast. Shower pressure is good and water gets very hot...
The neighborhood was government housing decades ago (hence bars on some windows), but the block has been bought by a developer and the house interiors restored. The block I'm on is largely gentrified, but the blocks around it are still very much lower-income housing. If you aren't comfortable being close to poorer neighborhoods, I would suggest not staying right in downtown or getting a hotel. It is next to Shaw University so you will see college kids. The State Farmer's Market is a couple miles away, open daily, and is a lovely resource for fresh produce and ingredients. The famous Pullen Park is also 2 miles away and an amazing place.
  • Come prepared with toiletries like soap & toothpaste... besides that-This place is pretty perfect. The location is great & very walkable. I felt completely safe and did not have one bother. Philip was very quick in his responses to any questions I had. The house was comfortable & accommodating. Anyone complaining about the location is just uncomfortable being around unfamiliar black people. But if it makes you more comfortable, the neighborhood is “up and coming” AKA being severely gentrified :)

  • Very good I was pleased

  • I would have to agree with another review on here, I personally wouldn't walk to downtown in this neighborhood however it is only a $5 or $6 uber to downtown this place is perfect visiting downtown and the host is great with communication.

    Nikolaus2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Philip was a great host! Quick to respond and even greeted us via message the next morning to make sure our first night went well! I enjoyed the stay and would stay here again!

    Andrew2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Phil's place is a convenient affordable place in an up and coming neighborhood. Easy walk into downtown Raleigh but just enough on the edge to be restful after a day of exploring. Phil is communicative and responds very quickly.

Come stay in my spacious and beautifully designed tiny cottage in the trees! Wake to windows full of sky and songbirds. Enjoy your morning coffee on the back deck for a chance to see mama bear with cubs foraging in the ravine. It's located behind my personal residence in a sweet little neighborhood only 4 minutes from downtown...(Uber and Lyft is available). It's cozy, quiet, and close to everything! Adults and Airbnb guests only... Thank you!
I had this quaint and cozy cabin built by a company specializing in small home design. Their craftsmanship is unparalleled! It is nestled in the trees above a small ravine and sits in the backyard of my house. It is small (288 sq ft downstairs, 100 upstairs and a 100 sq. ft. deck) but has the feel of something bigger with high ceilings and an open concept and loft. It is close to downtown, the Biltmore, and Blue Ridge Parkway but feels like a quiet get away. This space is meant for two people and is for adults only. Absolutely no pets, smoking, vaping or parties. Please respect the no pets policy as there are folks highly allergic to even hypoallergenic pets. Thank you! Features: All new designer furniture Brand new queen size bed in the loft Full sized refrigerator Toaster oven, microwave, and hot plate for small meals. Coffee maker with Starbucks House roast coffee Ceramic tile bath with roomy tiled shower Wide plank oak hardwood floors Rosewood dining bar in eat-in kitchen Hide-away fold down writing desk with view of trees and wildlife Real stairs/storage to the loft Tankless water heater so you have limitless hot water Beautiful deck out back to sit and take in the view Come see how special this place is! I love it!
This house is located in a cozy, tree-lined neighborhood 4 miles from downtown. Close enough to anything you want to do but tucked away in its own little patch of woods. Walkable neighborhood to a public library, two playgrounds, one block to the Farmers' Market on Fridays, two blocks to PennyCup coffee shop (try their frozen Green Tea!) and Creekside Taphouse BBQ...yum!
  • Thanks for everything! Awesome space in solid location with nice views. Extremely thoughtful host!

  • Such a cozy tiny house that is convenient to anything you could imagine in Asheville. Karen’s communication is amazing and she makes you feel so welcome into her tiny house. This house was sparkling clean and was SO cute! This place will be at the top of my list if I return to Asheville!

    Addison2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house is gorgeous and the little deck was absolutely beautiful! It even snowed our first night and it was magical❤️All the amenities were deeply appreciated (fridge, washer/dryer, iron, even tv). Karen had such clear communication in both messaging and notes around the house, everything was very thoughtful, cleanly, and inviting!

    Makenna2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

  • Nice comfy place to stay!

    Brian2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay if it is for just you and one other. Although we typically only spent the nights in the house while being downtown for most of the day, it was a great place to go home to and everything is laid out perfectly. Not a single problem I can bring up about the house or surrounding area.

    James2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I booked a trip for my boyfriend and I to get away and relax for the weekend. Karen offered amazing suggestions that we decided to check out for eating and visiting. We loved the hiking recommendations as well. The tiny house was perfect for us to come back to, relax, and hang out in. Karen keeps it sparkling clean and well stocked Incase you forget something. We enjoyed our stay in Asheville and hope to return soon!

Great little cabin, perfect for quarantine/self isolation.Directly on buck creek. A stocked trout stream. It is set on a 7 acre property, surrounded by 1000s of acres of pisgah National forest. No neighbors , just wildlife. There are no cases of corona virus in the area. The stores are well stocked with everything. I am offering discounted rates. I am also offering a grocery, etc.delivery service. No need for you to leave the property. Why not make a vacation out of your self isolation.
  • Sit back on the porch and grill a trout that you caught up the road. Listen to the creeks running water and lose yourself in the mountains! Enjoy the amazing views and the fresh mountain air.

    Emylie2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Book this cabin while you can, you won’t regret it. The cabin itself is a small cabin, it has a bed and small kitchen, but it’s exactly what you need. The cabin is extremely clean, and there’s covered parking which is a huge plus, and the gas grill on the porch on the creek is amazing. The location is perfect, especially being so close to mount Mitchell and Marion. As far as the host (Dave) he was super nice, his dogs were super kind and he is great about responding and hospitality. A few things happened that were out of his control and he did whatever he could to help us in our stay. Overall it was a great experience and we can’t wait to go back!

    Caleb2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Just go ahead and click book, you won’t regret it! The drive up to the cabin is beautiful. There’s a few tight curves, but not bad at all! Follow David’s directions and it’ll lead you straight to the cabin. You will not have cell service. The cabin has WiFi and works perfectly fine. It is also pet friendly which is a HUGE plus! You may think, ugh pet friendly it’s going to smell like a dirty dog...........you would have no idea that it was a pet friendly cabin. It smells really good and it is super clean! The creek is literally 5 steps from the front door. It is the most peaceful sound to fall asleep to at night and wake up to in the morning. David is an awesome host; he messaged us during our stay to make sure everything was going well and if we needed anything and responds back pretty quick. We arrived late and he had the lights on and heat on for us. He has 4 dogs of his own and they are the sweetest babies! Love them if you get the chance! The cabin is perfectly placed between Asheville and Boone; and you get the winding roads in between if you’re into that kind of thing. Book the cabin, enjoy the creek, love the dogs.

    Shelbi2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean cabin. Great area. Secluded but very close to Asheville, wine vineyards, cute little towns, and beautiful hiking. David was an awesome host and very helpful and super hospitable. It was a perfect “tiny home” for my husband and I to stay in. Thank you so much for this peaceful and relaxing vacation!

    Kayla2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • clean quiet place in the woods, sounds of the creek while you sit on the deck, everything you need to overnight while you enjoy the surrounding area

    Jeff2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • David’s cabin made our trip to North Carolina memorable- it’s nestled peacefully in the mountains adjacent to a stream. Definitely a great place to escape and spend some time in nature. Would recommend to anyone looking for a calm and beautiful place to stay! Would love to come back.

Rocky Knob mountain biking park is just five minutes away.
  • Amazing little cabin! It was in an awesome location to downtown Boone (about 10 minutes away) and near by some hiking trails. We loved how the cabin was nestled away in the mountains providing a very private setting on the porch and hot tub. The inside of the cabin was so warm and cozy, not to mention pretty spotless of any previous visitors. It was great that the cabin was pet friendly and we were able to bring our dog, who had a lot of fun running around outside. Thank you, John and Stacy - We will be back!!

“Dorothy's place is an absolute gem! It's up in the hills in a quiet neighborhood, but only a quick 5-7 minute drive from downtown and a 2 minute drive from a grocery store. The unit is spacious was incredibly comfortable for us (two plus our pup). The care and effort put into the space is super impressive. There is a queen sized bed, full size fridge and sink, a coffee maker with coffee/cream/sugar, tea, a microwave, and toaster oven. There's also a cute little sitting room with a tv and sofa. Further, the bathroom is a comfortable size with plenty of space for two. Dorothy has a board of recommendations for travelers, along with a map with pins to keep track of where her guests are from. Such sweet details! We were so sad to leave her lovely space. Hope to stay again in the future!” ...previous guest review Lots of space on this double lot on our small mountain leaves you feeling away from it all even though you're merely minutes from downtown. We are super convenient to grocery stores and tons of restaurants. Very open layout with beautiful archways and a unique rock wall add both charm and class. Super clean and equipped with a shared laundry room and great big bathroom. The kitchenette has everything you could need to feel at home when you're away from home. It is equipped with a full size refrigerator, single burner hot plate, a large toaster oven, microwave and a coffee maker. Netflix and Hulu streaming available via Roku on flat screen TV in living room . What else could you need?! :) This is a very spacious 500 square foot tastefully decorated and well equipped lower level space. Plenty of privacy with a separate entrance and a screen door allows guests to enjoy the fresh air and natural light. Outside space with porch swing and lounge seating for guests to lounge the day away. Beautiful fire pit area also available for guest use. Suitable for two adults with a couch available for a child; although the space is not child proof and I don't have separate sleeping arrangements other than the couch :) This space is one of two rentals on the lower level of my home. Each rental has a private entrance on either side of the house and my entrance is at the front of the house so privacy coming and going is not an issue. If this space does not fulfill your needs please check out my other Airbnb listing :) https://abnb.me/EVmg/4pISBm8rsK The apartments share a laundry room space making a perfect opportunity to book both for larger families or couples traveling together. Also, I will send instructions when it gets close to your reservation. Please read them carefully to be sure you choose the correct apartment upon arrival.
The house is set on a wooded mountainside with great scenic views. Downtown Asheville's restaurants, cafes, breweries, and shops are a short drive away. Go for a hike in a nearby park or take a short drive to the Biltmore Mansion and Gardens.
  • I have stayed at a lot of AirBnBs and Dorothy’s was my all time favorite! The location couldn’t be beat and the place itself was gorgeous! We even discussed the bed and how comfortable it was. She had extra items as well that made the stay just perfect. We were sad that we had to leave! Excellent place and location!

    Molly2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I had a short, comfortable stay with Dorothy for a weekend. She was very accommodating of us, including our dog. Check in and check out were super easy. The parking was convenient as well. The elevated view from the property was beautiful and we found the interior to be thoughtfully decorated with helpful recommendations for food, breweries, and hikes. Having laundry available on-site turned out to be a big plus as well. The neighborhood was very quiet despite being such a short drive to downtown. I would highly recommend a stay with Dorothy if you’re making a visit to Asheville.

  • The Airbnb from top to bottom was perfect for our weekend getaway in a new city! The place was thoughtfully decorated and really reflected the city as a whole. Getting to and from downtown was very easy and we were perfectly located for all of our activities we had planned. Dorothy herself was very pleasant to interact with as well. We look forward to returning in the future!

Beds are futons. It's warm June-Aug. (no A/C, plenty fans), but way cooler than the city. It's cold Nov.-March (wood stove heat). Mini-fridge & microwave (no kitchen/plumbing). Bath-house is 2-min. walk (toilet, sink, shower). Two minutes to Saxapahaw. Read description for more info. SERIOUSLY NO PARTIES.
This yurt offers an adventure in glamping. The large round canvas structure is sited in the woods, with its own big deck (with fire-pit) overlooking Frog Pond. Inside are electricity, bottled water, 2 beds, wood stove, recliner and plenty of places to sit & chill. The big table is right for dining or doing projects. We offer coffee + coffeemaker (you make) but no breakfast. There's also a mini-fridge, microwave, plates, cups and utensils, fireplace wood. There is wi-fi & plenty books, games & DVDs (no TV; bring your laptop). The yurt is especially enjoyable in the spring and fall, and magically great in the rain. It can get cold in late fall/winter, esp. early morning. If you have a sleeping bag you love, bring it. It will be hot June-August. The space is not childproof, so best not to bring toddlers.
Frog Pond Farm is located about two-and-a-half miles from Saxapahaw, a 200-year-old mill village on the Haw River. Saxapahaw is a thriving tourist destination, offering Saxapahaw General Store, The Eddy Pub, Cup 22 Coffeehouse, Haw River Ballroom, The Bridge Center for Healing Arts, Left Bank Butchery, Saxapahaw Museum, and Haw River Farmhouse Ales brewery. Look them up on the web for current events. Haw River Canoe & Kayak Co. can take you boating on the river, and you can hike the Haw River Trail. For supermarkets or liquor stores, you can drive to Graham (take Hwy 87 north) or to Carrboro/Chapel Hill (take Hwy 54 east); they are both 15 miles from Saxapahaw.
  • Had a second great stay! My only suggestion is to extend the driveway down. I appreciated the clean towels and loved the animals! Will definitely be back next year!

  • Love it every time!

    Paige2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Unique place to stay nestled in a private wooded property. Great place to get away and relax from the rush of life. I am cold natured and stayed plenty warm with the wood fire and it got down to the 20s at night.

    Michelle2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! If you have the opportunity to visit, even just for a night, it’s wonderful. Don’t let the cold weather stop you...the wood burning fire place keeps you toasty warm and the hot tub in the freezing cold weather is awesome! I would say we picked the perfect time to stay-no bugs and cold weather for a fire! We had so much fun getting away for a few days here. Steven and Linda are great and we loved the dogs visiting and listening to the sounds of the rooster and geese! We had an unexpected treat of rain on the first night. The sound of the rain on the yurt roof along with the cozy fire and hot tub was so relaxing. We will definitely be returning!

    Candy2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! 3 Minutes from Saxapahaw general store, brewery and ballroom. Every thing we needed was provided. This includes firewood which made our stay surprisingly warm despite temperatures just below freezing. The hot tub was great for a morning soak. Linda has great communication and check in was a breeze. We enjoyed our conversation with the host and look forward to staying at Frog Pond again.

    Derek2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Magical little place. Loved our short stay.

    Maria2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • What an experience! There is such history to the yurt and it really makes the space feel special. The hot tub and the view of the woods were such a relaxing touch. Highly recommend if your into nature and want a little escape from the woods

Experience the best that Black Mountain has to offer from this unique one of a kind experience! This quaint living space is directly above a little food market and cafe and overlooks a beautiful garden and greenhouse. Only steps away from the heart of Black Mountain and a fifteen-minute drive to downtown Asheville, you will have all of your travel needs met. Wake up every morning to be greeted by the beauty of the garden
This is truly a one of a kind AirBnB experience in the area. Come stay with us and explore the beauty of our studio, market, cafe, and garden in the heart of Black Mountain! What really makes this place unique is the location and the business, the Roots and Fruits Market. Being above a market and the outside cafe overlooking a garden, It's a magic place to be! Lots of great things happen here such as the food and juice truck that's outside, seasonal Sunday brunch with live music, watching the garden grow and be harvested, enjoy watching the chickens, interacting with people, or just walk around the garden (of course, seasonally that is). The market is open 7 days a week so you will see people around the market area if you choose to. We want people to feel relaxed and comfortable with everything you may need to start the day off right! . The studio is unique based on the colors of the rooms and cozy layout of the floor plan! This space includes a living room, kitchenette, bathroom, bath tub, and bedroom. We like to think this place is perfect for a couple, a solo traveler, and a group of friends who don't mind sharing space. The bedroom is a short walk away from the kitchenette and does not have a closable door for full privacy from guests who are interested in sharing the studio with two or more.
We are located right in the heart of downtown Black Moutain. Easy walk to great restaurants, bars, music, and gift shops.
  • Quaint, cozy, best fit for fall/ spring as it is an old building and a bit drafty. It is an attic apartment with very low ceilings in many places, so if you’re over 6ft tall you wouldn’t be too cozy. It has a rustic humble mountain vibe. No TV which was a bummer at first but we managed just fine! Clean, quiet and just as described. Loved it!

  • Very nice place

    Christian2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place. The location is primo. It's so close to lovely shops and restaurants. I only wish I visited in the Spring or Summer. I bet the garden is amazing!

    Lisa2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the cozy lofted cabin feel with a little flar of 70's decore. It was spotless and great for a weekend away. Can't wait to visit in the spring or summer when the garden is in full bloom!☺

  • Awesome.

    Christopher2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great location- we walked in to town for meals and exploring. You can feel this is an older structure but we found that very charming. If you're looking for cozy and simple- this is it!

  • Great space! As mentioned in other reviews, it is right next to train tracks and you should expect to hear the horn of a passing train in the night. Once per night on average. Best for strong sleepers perhaps. Besides that the space is really special. It's a great location and makes for a very cozy stay.

It provides ample river/creek views, immediate access to hiking trails, and is located only 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, zip lining, rafting, skiing, and much more. Added on 3/15/20: please note that extra care has been taken to disinfect all surfaces throughout the cabin and to thoroughly launder all linens. • Cute quiet cabin In the woods. Very beautiful scenic drive in the country. Loved the place!!

    Virginia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sweet little cabin in the crook of a mountain creek, with porches/ sitting areas above the water. Ours was a short stay, but there was a nice campfire place and some trails running along the creek banks. Cabin was very clean and cozy on a cold night!

    Lynne2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Booked this as a gift for my parents and they loved it! Unexpected snow and everything was amazing!

    Breanna2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cutest cabin! Cozy, Ceevah was a great host, even prepared for our late arrival with lights and heat on! Fresh creamer in dairy and non-dairy was so thoughtful. Wish we could have stayed longer!

    Michelle2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ceevah and Eliza's small cabin was so cute. It was very clean with very clear labels to locate things and instructions. The space heater was especially nice! Ceevah responded quite fast. Note that your cellular service might not work up here, but the wi-fi was fast! It was only a 20 minute drive to downtown Asheville, but there were plenty of things to do around the cabin. We went on a nice hike by the creek. The cabin was everything we needed for a great price, and I'd definitely come again!

    Jeanne2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was just as I expected. Very cozy and made a great weekend getaway. We went to NC for a ski trip and it was about a 30 minute drive to the ski lodge but it was a very beautiful drive. I very much so appreciate the coffee and other small things that the host left for us. This cabin was very cozy and comfortable. I also loved the book collection.

    Taylor2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ceevah was an exceptional host. Her communication (pre-, during, and post-trip) was quick, friendly, and helpful. The house was incredibly clean and welcoming. Highly recommended. A+++, 5 stars, and the like.

    Keith2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Ceevah’s place was so cute and cozy! There is a short gravel drive to get up and my 2 wheel drive RAV4 had no problem! We went in January and it wasn’t snowing there. Super easy check in with key code. Older cabin, but super clean! Ceevah was so sweet and since we got in late, she offered us a later check out time! Very thoughtful :) they live right up the hill too in case you need them! There is a beautiful creek right by the house! We would’ve sat by the creek all day if it wasn’t so cold! We will definitely be back!

Quiet country life in a private community, just minutes from downtown Asheville. We have a small herd of sweet, friendly miniature goats which would love your attention. We often have kids (baby goats) too. Come for the fabulous hiking, the award winning restaurants, and a little goat therapy too.
Contemporary studio apartment, suitable for one person or a couple (queen bed) Living Area with smart TV and wireless internet provided, bedroom area with very comfortable queen size bed (all linens provided), fully stocked kitchen large dorm size refrigerator and separate small freezer, bathroom with SMALL shower. 7 miles or 10 minutes from downtown Asheville in east Asheville. 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and awesome hiking spots. We are situated in a 3-home private eco-community in the mountains right outside the city (Asheville). We have small dairy goats, vegetable gardens and live a quiet sustainable country life with Asheville's nightlife, restaurants, theaters, and fantastic hiking only a short 10 minute drive away. Studio apartment is very private with separate parking and private patio overlooking trees, goats pastures, and cow pastures. We are in the country outside Asheville (but only 7 miles)-- buses don't run out here so it's important to have your own transportation. Note: If you are an extra large person you probably will not be comfortable here because the shower is quite small. We don’t use cable TV anymore but have endless entertainment on the smart TV— we have subscriptions for Netflix and HuluPlus and Amazon Video for both movies and TV shows. We have a laundry area available for guest use next to the apartment. We have self-check-in and instant booking available. IMPORTANT: We have a lovely sweet labrador retriever, who is a rambunctious and very friendly and two cats. If you are afraid of dogs or don't like them, you should probably consider something else. Animals are NOT permitted in the studio apartment. Also, the goat area is fenced in with high voltage electric wire to keep predators out. Inside the goats pen, feel free to play with the goats! They are very friendly.
  • Stay here! Waking up in such a beautiful setting and getting to play with Woody the dog and baby goats was a huge highlight of an already great trip! The bed is super cozy and the overall space is well thought out. Julia is a wonderful host and person! Really enjoyed making the short drive into downtown bc we got to see parts of Asheville we otherwise wouldn’t have. Will definitely be back!

    Lindsey & Colin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Julia’s place was great! It was very clean and warm. The goats were so friendly and the babies were precious! My husband really enjoyed playing with Woody. We would stay at Julia’s place again!

  • Nice, clean and goats were super cute

    Josey2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Julia's place is rural but close to Asheville with easy access to City. She was a great host. The stay was very comfortable in a chic styled apt. For added pleasure I had an opportunity to pet the goats. What a treat. Apt. had great amenities. Definitely will stay here again.

    Trina2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great little spot just outside of the city. Julia was an excellent host and very communicative throughout the entire process. Playing with the goats and feeding them snacks was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

    Griffin2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A slice of heaven located minutes away from downtown Asheville. Stylish cozy apartment with neighboring fields of cows and horses . But the highlight are the goats and the welcome committee (resident dog). Hostess, Julia, is accommodating, prompt at responding and provides a very special experience. Been several times and will return again.

    Diane2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, everything is close by. The apartment felt safe, and it was great to see the goats and the pup! I plan to come back next year.
