The entrance from deck to the cottage is where you will find the renovated and updated kitchen and bathroom along with a large screen TV. Safety features include; CO/smoke detectors and a fire extinguisher. The fully stocked kitchen includes a dishwasher and also complimentary spices and cooking oils. You will enjoy the warm log home feel with a lovely view of the lake. The rental area is the main level off the deck and is part of the larger building which is occupied by owner. Your privacy is very important to me. I will be available only if requested. Enjoy beautiful sunsets from the large dock. Bedding and bath towels supplied. You can enjoy a walking trail that's nearby, called Devil's Gap Trail Gravenhurst. Use google, for trail information and exact location. It is a snowmobile trail in the winter and can also be used for snowshoeing. Hardy lake Provincial Park is just up the road and has a lovely 3 km hiking trail.
  • This is a spectacular place in one of the less commercialized locations. We were here during the winter and plan to be back for other seasons!

  • Awesome place you wont be disappointed.

  • Everything about our stay was wonderful. Tom was so lovely to meet and he respected our privacy during our entire stay. The cottage was spotless and very cozy. Everything we would've needed was provided for us and we really appreciated the extra brochures he left out! We would definitely stay here again :)

  • A beautiful & romantic getaway spot! We liked it so much the first night that we decided to extend our stay! 10/10 would recommend! We’ll definitely remember this place next time we want to stay in Gravenhurst :)

    Emma2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I decided to stay at Tom’s place this winter and I am beyond thankful we did. Not only is Tom’s home even more beautiful in person, but his kindness and hospitality made the experience even better (especially getting to meet his dog). The cottage is close to town and all necessities, and is the perfect relaxing get away for any couple or individual. I can’t wait to come back, and definitely plan to. Do yourself a favour and book this cottage ASAP.

  • This year we decided to spend a few nights at this beautiful cottage in the winter. We had an amazing time. The cottage is very cozy and seeing the snow outside was just beautiful. The perfect little weekend winter getaway. Can’t wait to come back in August!

    Maia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. Everything is as expected; cozy, very stylized with nice decor. The kitchen is fully stocked and it was a comfortable stay. The owner was extremely helpful and responsive when our vehicle got stuck in the ditch. He was kind enough to help us shovel and push the car out in the cold. Would definitely book this place again.

  • This is our second visit to Stephen’s cottage. It was so hard to leave when it was time to check out. The dock gets sunshine all day long and the dock is right on the most amazing warm and clean water to swim in. It rained one morning and we just sat in their beautiful big living room watching the rain through their stunning floor to ceiling windows. We cooked and feasted in their beautiful big kitchen- it’s stocked with everything you need. This place is beautifully decorated, clean and cozy. It truly felt like home. The hosts were welcoming and were so helpful. We can’t wait to return.

    Anna2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent accommodations! Lots of indoor/ outdoor seating areas. Clean and open concept. Very comfortable beds. We spent most of our time on the sun drenched dock. Great for a family getaway - we thoroughly enjoyed our time and would highly recommend.

    Martha2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was extremely quick in responding to any questions we had before our trip and offered a detailed summary to ensure we would make the most of our stay. His place was absolutely beautiful and completely surpassed our expectations- he had everything waiting for us (towels, paper towel, dish soap etc) so we didn’t have to pack extra. I can’t wait to go again.

    Justine2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start!? Everything about this cottage was exceptional! Starting with Glen and Stephen’s hospitality who went out of their way to answer all of our questions before our arrival promptly, to helping us move our luggage to the cottage on arrival. The cottage itself belongs on the cover of a magazine - spotless, beautifully decorated wth a Canadiana flare, all the amenities you could want! (E.g coffee maker/nesperesso machine, fridge by the dock!, A/C, Bluetooth speaker, plastic glasses for the docks). They really thought of everything. The cabin gets afternoon sunlight, but is very private, the perfect combination. Best part is, you get sun all day long on the dock and the lake is warm. I would 1000% book to stay here again! Only have positive things to say about this place and Glen and Stephen.

    Lori2019-07-02T00:00:00Z

Temporary blocked dates due to COVID-19. Hope to open soon. This cozy cabin is perfect for couples looking for indoor and outdoor time together. Snuggle by the wood fire. Watch the sunrise while soaking in the outdoor hot tub. Relax on the deck and enjoy nature at its best as every season is different. The birds, chipmunks and deer visit regularly. The screened-in gazebo offers bug free outdoor dining. Enjoy an bonfire, BBQ a great steak, and even make your own pizza in the outdoor pizza oven.
Our chalet has been our year round retreat from the city and we love the peace and quiet it offers. We are located right across the street from Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Hill. At the bottom of the ski hill is the private community beach for Hidden Valley residents and guests. This wood chalet has one bedroom with a queen bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with the essentials – dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, 2 coffee makers (Keurig and drip), kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, gas stove, and Brita water filter. The kitchen/dining area/living room are open concept with a real wood stove with a glass front. Extras include outdoor cedar hot tub, outdoor pizza oven, Big Green Egg charcoal BBQ, screened in gazebo, deck with really comfortable chairs, outdoor fire pit and Muskoka chairs, wireless WiFi, large TV with Apple TV (Netflix, YouTube videos or your own ITunes Account), DVD player and lots of DVDs to watch. We are on town water and sewer and even have an automatic back up generator that will keep the lights on in the rare occasions the power goes out. We will provide all bedding and bath towels but please bring your own beach towels. We provide high quality split wood for use in the indoor wood stove. We supply a limited amount of other wood for the pizza oven and fire pit. If you require additional wood, it is available at most gas stations and grocery stores.
The community of Hidden Valley is located about a 7 minute drive from Huntsville along Hwy 60 on the way to Algonquin Park and is located beside Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area, Hidden Valley Resort and Deerhurst Resort. The West Gate for Algonquin Park is 36 kms from Hidden Valley. The neighbourhood was built in the 1970's and 80's around the ski hill and is a community of about 150 houses, cottages and townhomes with a mixture of full time residents and seasonal residents and guests. Our cottage is located across the street from Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Hill so you can walk to the ski hill. At the base of the ski hill, beside Hidden Valley Resort is a private community beach on Peninsula Lake that is available to our guests. We are close to many outdoor attractions such as hiking and canoeing in Algonquin Provincial Park, golfing at Deerhust Highland Golf Course or Clublink’s Mark O’Meara Golf Club, skating at Arrowhead Provincial Park, hiking, snowshoeing or cross country skiing on Limberlost Trails, sleigh rides at Beyond Equine Centre, or snowmobiling on the well groomed trails. There are numerous options for launching a boat or a canoe. The towns of Huntsville, Dwight and Dorset are nearby with great shopping and dining. We are happy to make recommends to our favorite restaurants.
  • This place is a gem! We enjoyed the cottage - fireplace, hot tub, pizza oven and the location! There are so many places to hike, ski, snow-shoe etc. Could not be a better place for a couple's get-a-way!

    Andrea2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 The hosts are amazing! Very thorough and had the best local tips (suggestions on restaurants and things to do). I loved everything about this cottage! It had everything you needed and more. The Hot Tub, Pizza Oven and Wood Stove were a bonus! Deer watching from the living room and feeding the deer (carrots and apples) were highlights. Also, the welcome wine was super thoughtful. Perfect romantic getaway spot. Most definitely will come again.

  • We really needed a week to get away, relax and recharge. This beautiful chalet was just what the doctor ordered. The amenities were spot on and Lorraine and Richard were really wonderful hosts. We are making plans to return.

    Marie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I loved this chalet - the amenities are fantastic and even if we were nervous about using the pizza oven, there were clear instructions that made it all much more achievable. Highly recommend this chalet!

    Mary2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for such a wonderful stay! Loved the cottage - warm cozy and everything that we could have possibly wanted was there. Loved the fact we could feed the deer and birds, every morning greeted by deer munching on corn 2 inches away from the deck. The amenities were perfect - hot tub - barbeque - pizza oven outside amazing! Ideal location for the ski hills could walk there from the cottage. Can't say enough about this cottage - gas stove that was amazing for our meals and outside barbeque for a wonderful steak dinner. There was a 60 inch TV and woodfire place to keep us warm and relaxed. We only had three nights could have used a week , every thing was just perfect. The pictures don't do this place justice...Will be back again for sure!

    Elizabeth2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Lorraine & Richard’s over the long weekend in February. We could’ve have wanted for anything more, Lorraine made sure we checked in ok & gave us a thorough break down on how to use everything in the cottage. Upon arrival we were even greeted with a welcome bottle of wine which we consumed in the hot tub on Valentine’s Day. We would definitely recommend staying at the chalet, & have already booked a second visit. Cheers!

    Courtney2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lorraine and Richard's place was wonderful. Perfect for what we were looking for, clean, and very fun. The pizza oven is great and the hot tub was a blessing to have in the winter. Truly looking forward to going back ASAP. Thanks so much Lorraine and Richard for a wonderful stay.

    Liam2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We were greeted by Lorraine when we arrived. She was very friendly and easy to talk to it was a very nice welcome! Lorraine and Richard left us a bottle of wine on the counter which was also a very nice welcoming gesture! Along with a booklet of things to do, places to go, and information around town! This cottage was absolutely perfect and so cozy we did not want to leave!! Our favorite was the cedar hot tub, even though we had freezing weather, it did not matter while in the hot tub having some drinks. The wood oven pizza's we made turned out amazing! Our favorite was watching the family of deer's eating the corn Richard and Lorraine provide to feed them from the porch! They were there every single time we looked out the window and we found ourselves watching them for hours! We had to message Lorraine and Richard a couple times and they replied almost instantly and Richard came over both times quicker then the text message itself haha!! Thank you Lorraine and Richard for providing us the best honeymoon experience with your adorable cabin! We are already talking about our next trip back!!!!

People have been coming to vacation in Muskoka since the 19th century. And why not when there's so much natural entertainment to choose from? Gather your friends & family to share canoeing, fishing, playing horseshoes & volleyball, building sand castles on the beach or a round of good old fashioned board games. Even when it's cold outside, make memories to keep you warm: ice-fishing, skating, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snow fort building or our personal favourite, building massive snowpeople :)

The cottage has a nice private setting as part of a parcel of land which is almost 20 acres along the Muskoka River, close to 3 waterfalls and on the Trans Canada Trail. You’ll love our place because of the access to many trails for hiking, yet only a few minutes to downtown Bracebridge and central to most Muskoka Attractions. To really enjoy the river location you need to love walking and exploring. The cottage is offered in its pre-renovation state as the pictures indicate.
  • The place is very clean, hiking trails abound, and river is stone throw away, (bring your fishing gear)or if you just want to enjoy a quiet moment away from the hustle and bustle this is a perfect place, highly recommended. Ps. Host Lana and Brian are wonderful.

    Nestor2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • A very peaceful cottage with a beautiful view. Lana made us feel welcomed to her placer with all that we could need during our stay. The house has a room for a big family, a fire place with a river view. Also a fire pit, snowshoes, and another items that added value to the outdoor experience! We would be back for sure!

    Juliana2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing

    Nav2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lana's spot very much exceeded our already high expectations. The spot is absolutely gorgeous right across from the river and beautiful hiking trails. The property is large and beautiful with a great hill for sledding. Inside the cottage is very spacious, bright, and clean. The kitchen has all the amenities you might need. There are windows everywhere providing a great view of the river and warm sunshine in the morning. The fireplace is the perfect place to relax day and night. We've never felt so relaxed and we never wanted to leave. Would 100% rent again.

    Caitlin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and cute cottage with lots of space. Lana is an amazing host and made sure we had a smooth checkin and great time :)

    Sadaf2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great! Our kids had a competition at the Bracebridge Sportsplex and so this was perfect. About an 8 min drive away. We even walked the trail over from the cottage. It’s about a 20-25 min walk. The cottage is very spacious and the kitchen has everything you need to cook. Communication with the hosts was great as well. Would stay here again.

    Kevin & Chantal2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and cozy home in a great location, close to town and walking trails. Lana was great and very easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend for a stay in Bracebridge.

    Mark2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 5 days at the cottage so that our city kids could play in clean snow and get some fresh winter air. This place was perfect! It was quiet and in the back yard there was a nice big hill for sledding. Lana sweetly left a snowman kit (hat/scarf/nose/buttons) so that our daughter could build a snowman. The kitchen was unbelievably well stocked and the place was sparkling clean. We couldn’t have asked for a better winter experience!

  • My fiancé and I stayed at Paul’s place during the week of October 20th. We had an absolute blast and couldn’t have been happier with our entire experience. Our interaction with Paul was great and he was very quick to respond. The space itself was just as described. It had everything we needed and more! At night the temperatures dropped below 0 degrees. This was not an issue as the cabin was well insulated and a propane space heater was provided. I am looking forward to staying at this Airbnb in the future ! Thanks Paul!

  • Had a surreal past few days at this cabin! Everything was perfect. Lovely little cabin decorated so nicely! There are lots of sitting areas to choose from with beautiful views. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway this place is perfect. Access to the tin boat and canoe made our visit that much more special! We were able to fish and explore the lake! Paul was an amazing host and extremely easy to contact. Highly recommend this place! Definitely will be back again!

    Jessica2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's place was perfect. Communication great and he was helpful with check in. Gave us a quick tutorial on using the boat, propane heated shower (which was amazing) and propane heater (as we were there in Oct). It was incredibly relaxing, private, cozy, clean and had an unbelievably beautiful view as the fall colours were coming in. We canoed, kayaked and just enjoyed the peaceful outdoors.

    Laura2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabin on a beautiful lake. Definitely a dream spot for a quiet, remote getaway. Having access to the boat and canoe was great - exploring the small lake was a lot of fun. We had pretty cold, windy weather so were happy to have our big down jackets and own sleeping bags! Would love to come back to this spot in the summer time. The cabin has all the basics for cooking, and a few fire spots outside, which was great. Take a head torch for midnight trips to the outhouse! And mosquito spray too!

    Charlie2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a great getaway on a pristine lake. Paul is a pro at hosting on the site. We cant wait to go back!

Built into a forested hill beside a river, with a sleeping loft and in-floor radiant heating in a granite flagstone floor, a kitchenette and a three piece washroom, the studio is the perfect place to relax, rejuvenate or retreat into creative work.
Whispering River Studio Retreat is just 10 minutes from Parry Sound and located in a woods of old growth white pine, maple, oak and birch, on the banks of the Seguin River. In spring the scent of flowering crab and apple trees, wild roses, lilacs and pin cherries fill the air. Fall features gorgeous colour on the hills, and nearby hikes feature views of the rocks and cliffs that make this area famous throughout September, October, November and early December. Winter is beautiful too - the season of retreat and rejuvenation is filled with pristine vistas - and lots of snow for the dedicated snowshoe-er or cross country skier! Georgian Nordic X-country ski trails are only 15 minutes away, and can be used in the summer for hiking as well. If you want to enjoy a community Christmas, come and experience the many, many local activities centered around this warm and friendly time of year. You are welcome to relax in the loft, the house's screened in porch, or on the studio porch or the look out and enjoy the gentle whisper of the river, or the wind in the pines. A short walk by the river is beloved by most guests - especially in the mornings when the mist often streams of the water. There is a Heintzman upright grand piano in good condition the house that you are welcome to use. My baby grand in a nearby gallery is also available for rehearsals, workshops and concerts upon arrangement. During the summer the Festival of the Sound at the Stocky Center is home to an International Classical Music Festival. String Quartets, classical and contemporary concert music artists grace the stage, and provide unparalleled musical inspiration for people drawn from all over the world. I have a propane gas stove, washer and dryer, and will provide you with bedding. There is also a BBQ available for use if you want to cook outside. The Seguin River flows swiftly to Mountain Basin Lake - a short 15 minute paddle from the house. You can take trips in either direction. There is excellent canoeing ( although in late August and September the water is very low - but it is still well worth doing the two or three lift-over through shallows), hiking, cross- country skiing, snowshoeing, fishing and hunting nearby. Deer Run Golf Course, a beautiful informal course with a waterfall in its backyard, is just across the road.
Parry Sound is a thriving town. Boat tours, a major classical music festival, and a wide variety of summer and winter sports are centered here. Tours, hikes, skiing, snowshoeing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and water sports, and scenic drives are part of everyday activities for guests in this area. The rugged beauty of Georgian Bay is close at hand, and Canadian Shield country lakes and rivers are here to explore. There is Nordic skiing in the winter, and lots of great winter activities. It truly is a place for all seasons!
  • I spent three nights at the Whispering River working on a writing project. The space is tranquil, open, and inspiring and I was able to get some really great work done while there. During my breaks I went on walks along the river with my dog Humber and Brenda recommended some excellent trails/Provincial Parks nearby for some more long-distance mid-day walk. My dog Humber was equally pleased by those! Overall it was a great experience and lovely space and I definitely would recommend it to folks - and I hope to book again some time in the future.

  • Amazing place, Brenda is an amazing host as well. We came down from our apartment expecting a nice quiet time and even though we had some weather and car troubles, Brenda went out of her way to help us get to her location and get safely home. I’ve never experienced such top in class hospitality and I would recommend this place to anyone. Not just for the views but for the fact that you will experience an amazingly personalized time.

    Daniel2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful, peaceful setting. There are many things to do around the area (and Brenda can tell you about them all!) or you can just enjoy the quiet forest and watch the river flow. The Studio is a lovely space, and cozy in the winter. The heated floors are fantastic! Hopefully I can return another time and experience a different season.

Pictures and insta profile shows completely the truth - we enjoyed it so much and miss already now the view and surroundings. Besides hair dryer the cottage is offering everything to make it the best. We will come back for sure :D

The cottage is beautiful and even on our rainy days it was so lovely to cozy up with the wood burning fire and the open view of the lake. Completely relaxing and would love to return next summer :)

  • Staying at John's cottage was an amazing experience for our party! The cottage is right on the water and after you walk out the front doors the deck overlooks the firepit and Severn River. The house is an open style concept with living room and kitchen, great for many people to spend time together. There is also a Florida-style room which is screened in. This area has a very nice breeze coming through that was very nice to play games around the table. We enjoyed our time on the beautiful deck which you can jump off into the river. John provided us with 2 kayaks as well which we loved using during the day. They also provide you with many dishes and cups so you aren't required to bring plastic plates and cups. There is also many pots and pans to use for cooking in the kitchen and there is also a big Weber barbecue on the deck that was perfect for cooking for the 8 of us. John provided us with numbers for water taxis, but there was also the boat that they included, however we had trouble starting it (no problem as the water taxi picked us right up at the property). The only thing I would recommend is bringing a few extra garbage bags in case you run out. Also bring oil for cooking but John provides Pink Himalayan sea salt and fresh black pepper for seasoning. We brought a few different board games to play when the sun went down. Overall, the property is beautiful and we had an amazing weekend. If you are a group of friends looking to rent a cottage for the weekend I would highly recommend staying at this waterfront property. Just make sure you come stocked and then there is no reason to leave the cottage!

    Matt2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We rented John’s cottage for my sisters bachelorette weekend and it was amazing! Very spacious, beautiful dock on the water, and very clean! John was amazing with communication from the moment we booked the cottage until we left! He provided us contacts for water taxi’s and made himself available for any transportation needs throughout the weekend. We would 100% go back and definitely recommend John’s cottage!

  • It was a beautiful spot for swimming and resting in a quiet Area. The kitchen and appliances were useful. Barbeque area and fireplace was extra fun for kids and guests.

  • Great place! Great house! We had a wonderful time!

    Christine2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We rented the cottage for a full week to hang out as a family. There was nine of us (8 adults & an infant) and it handled us well. A real nice spot that met all of our expectations.

  • The cottage was awesome to be in. The location, the waterway, the atmosphere. Perfect setting for a weekend stay. The cottage was very clean and the accommodations were fantastic. Would definitely want to come back again. Thanks for having us John!

  • Thanks again John, Cheryl, & Ashley! My friends and I had a great trip at your cottage that we will never forget! Some things I loved about my trip: 1. The cottage is exactly what you expect when you see the picture which I appreciate. 2. Lots of room for friends and family. 3. The communication from the hosts to guests. 4. The lake was beautiful; warm enough to swim, great fishing, & they provide a boat which helps if you have a lot of people like we did 5. The restaurant on the water. Thanks again guys :)

  • Toms cottage was an amazing stay, perfect for a couples getaway or for a small family. The cottage was spotless when we got there and he had everything that we needed for our stay. Plus, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything that you’d ever need! The interior decoration is really well done and the views of the backyard are breathtaking. Tom also left some firewood and kindling for us so that we could use the fire-pit in the back. Getting there was easy and the town is only a 10 minute drive away so if you forget anything there’s no need to worry. An added bonus was that his cottage is pet friendly so I got to bring my dog along and he had a blast. Lots of room for him to run around and the trans Canada trail is literally across the street from the cottage. The neighbours are friendly and the street is almost dead silent apart from the few cars that you might hear drive by. I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a peaceful cottage right on the lake, and I would love to stay there again.

  • Tom's cabin ended up being the perfect, cozy, peaceful stay for a romantic getaway! My girlfriend and I really appreciated the perfect cleanliness and amazing location of the cabin on the lake (perfect for a morning coffee staring out at the lake or enjoying the stars. The host was very kind and always available if we had any questions. Also, the amenities such as the beds and couches were extremely comfortable so we loved just cozying up with a hot chocolate by the fireplace and staying in after a long day of exploring the town and beautiful nature of Gravenhurst. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful, nature-filled getaway in comfort.

  • Tom was an absolutely amazing host. He met us at check-in and was so friendly- he offered some suggestions of things to do while we were visiting, and made himself available if we needed anything (he is very quick to respond!). The cottage was cozy, clean and absolutely perfect for us- we loved that we were able to bring Bronco (dog) and he loved u with the neighbours dog Duke, as well as Tom’s dog Cooper when we checked in. The neighbours Rick and Lori were also super friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful cottage, and look forward to hopefully visiting again in the summer and maybe even in the spring! Thank you Tom!

Cozy renovated two bedroom cottage offering sandy beach, large deck and gorgeous sunset views. Relax on the dock while enjoying this tranquil secluded lake. Fridge, stove, BBQ, flat screen TV, DVD player and a variety of movies included.
Great swimming and fishing on the lake! Located between Huntsville and Bracebridge and close to all that Muskoka has to offer. A variety of public golf courses close by and plenty of restaurants and shopping. The cottage is situated far from the main roads in the village of Utterson but is only 20 km away from Huntsville which offers plenty of restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores. Like most cottages the water is supplied by a well so we provide drinking water. The cottage has a well stocked kitchen with coffee maker and we supply sheets and towels!
  • Year three at Rose Lake and we are still in love. There is no place in Ontario that can beat Brad and David’s cabin at Rose Lake. There are always local treats awaiting arrival, a spotlessly clean cottage, and outdoor amenities that make the stay even more special. The beach is steps away from the cottage and the water is clear. Words cannot describe how truly beautiful it is there. Brad and David are the perfect hosts - always available and the friendliest, too! Our first night there we all had a beverage by the lake and great conversation while the kids ran to play at the beach. It was wonderful. We are counting the days down until our 2020 visit!

    Jen2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Another fantastic vacation at Brad and Dave's place, 4th year going. The cottage is beautiful, the lake is gorgeous and the weather was awesome. I have nothing bad to say, the place is great and very comfortable for us! We look forward to coming back next year!

    Moe2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Stop searching - visit Rose Lake, you will not be dissapointed. The cabin is beautiful and David and Brad are prettying the garden every year. We visited Rose Lake for the 3rd time now and we had incredible good times there. Clearly a wonderful spot for your family vacation in a quiet and pieceful area!

    Bernhard2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • There really is no better place to stay whilst in Muskoka. Rose Lake is quiet, serene, and the perfect place to spend time recuperating and relaxing. This past week was our second trip to Rose Lake and it will definitely not be our last - we are already planning our 2019 trip. David and Brad are amazing hosts and they really have thought of everything to make vacation special. The cottage is clean, stocked with linens, movies, games, and even some special local beverages to enjoy after a long drive up north. Don’t be on the fence with this Airbnb - book it before someone else beats you to it. Trust me.

  • Great spot surrounded by nature, super well equipped cottage, communication with host was efficient, and will definitively be coming back to spend family time.

  • Definitely lived up to its name with the charm factor! To those looking to stay on a peaceful lake in the Muskokas with all the amenities of home, this is the place. It was spotlessly cleaned and stocked with everything we could need. We especially enjoyed using the kayak and pedal boat to tour the lake. The location of the cottage is perfect; an equal distance from both the outdoor activites of Algonquin and the unique markets in Rosseau and Port Carling. We also appreciated the great collection of board games and DVDs for rainy days and late nights. David and Brad were great with communication if we had any questions. I would definitely recommend their cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!

  • Another fantastic stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brad and Dave's cottage. The weather was fantastic, the cottage was clean with all the amenities and the location is superb. The building has since been renovated and is now home to Hunters Bay Radio 88.7FM and a two storey apartment that could be your home while you visit Muskoka. The space has wireless internet, plus Netflix on TV. Note that there is a circular type stair case leading to the top floor of the apartment.
The apartment is on the main street in Huntsville and overlooks Hunters Bay, which is behind the building. Downtown is 5 minutes away on foot. Great restaurants and the pubs are a small walk down the hill.
  • Good value. A short walk to the downtown Huntsville. Clean. Spacious.

  • Great location, very clean! Jeff was very fast at answering any questions we had. We loved to be able to walk downtown so easily. Algonquin and Arrowhead parks were very close to get to. Thanks Jeff!

  • Great location, lots of stuff to do in the area. Very clean and spacious.

  • Jeff was great with communication and was accommodating, as my boyfriend and I made it to Huntsville an hour before check-in and Jeff was very understanding. The bathtub was an excellent feature. One thing to keep in mind is the steps to travel upstairs can be challenging for older people as they’re quiet steep. Everything was pretty sound proof, so you couldn’t hear the radio station much below during the day. I would recommend staying here again because Jeff was an amazing host and the location is amazing for getting around Huntsville.

    Kennedy2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Second time staying here. Best bang for your buck in Huntsville, if you're okay with taking stairs. Great value combining location, amenities, and price. Highly recommended!

  • What a lovely place!! 120 year old building with a nice mix of original features and modern conveniences. Very clean and well provisioned! Cosy and warm ... fireplace, comfy couches! • Overall an amazing location to relax with a great group of your closest friends. Going to Sams muskoka getaway at the end of September is a must, the views are amazing & no bugs to worry about! The cottage was very clean, and had everything you needed to enjoy your time away!

  • Sam’s place was spectacular! He is an amazing host, very professional and has phenomenal communication. The cottage is very well kept and clean, the ad is very accurate. It is a private location and not too close to You will read in other reviews about the stairs, they are accurate. I will note that Deewood Drive is a very narrow/hilly road which was a little nerve wracking for some of our drivers when arriving. A little heads up on it would have been nice. Overall we had an amazing experience with Sam and his property, highly recommend!!

It was frozen over but a little bumpy for skating. The place was always warm and the fully equipped kitchen was excellent! Lots of nice touches for a romantic getaway! :)

You’ll need a great set of snow tires if you’re visiting in the winter. Thanks for everything, I’m sure we’ll be back!

  • My five year old daughter and I absolutely loved our stay at the Aux Box! It was the perfect basecamp for our adventures into Arrowhead, Algonquin and Limberlost. The box was extremely tidy and clean, and there weren’t any issues with the composting toilet (which was one of my main concerns!). It was so peaceful and the view was absolutely gorgeous. Dates scooped? Worry not! We've got two other Muskoka lakeside cottages with similar loveliness - just click our profile picture above for all the details :) - Outdoor Hot Tub - Lakeside Sauna - Games Room with pool table & more - Sandy beach - Log fireplaces & fire pit - Family owned & adored - Wifi internet - Close to Toronto (<2 hours) - Open year round
"The best thing to hold onto in life is each other" -- Audrey Hepburn Trenanthia Cottage is a fun loving, hot tubbing, sauna steaming & fire crackling cottage to help ya smile a little broader, laugh a little louder & live a little bigger! We've been renting to lovely folks for over a dozen years. Take a look around our website for oodles of photos of our "OG" cottage (Original Grandma, of course) and reach out for more info on our "New Cottage" & "Woody" Cottage - all three are similarly fab Muskoka lakeside cottages. Just search the internet for Trenanthia Cottage and voilà (or stalk us on social media :) Life is bigger™ when we connect
  • This was the perfect winter getaway for our group of friends. Then place was absolutely beautiful and exceeded expectations. The cottage was very spacious and offered many indoor/outdoor amenities. Amanda and Ping were very approachable and responded to messages in a timely manner. Thank you for the hospitality, we all very much enjoyed our stay ! I highly recommend renting this space. Dillon and Friends

  • We had a wonderful stay ! This cottage is very spacious, clean, warm and welcoming! The beds were all very comfortable. This is a great place to accommodate a large group, we never felt like we were bumping into each other. We loved the hot tub, sauna, pool table and air hockey after a day of snowmobiling. The cottage is so close to the snowmobile trail ( approximately 50 meters from the driveway). The hosts were very quick to respond to any questions that we had. The fresh yummy cookies and the the welcoming sign was a nice touch. We would totally recommend this beautiful cottage and wonderful hosts

    Stephen2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Large, comfortable house in a nice quiet, wooded area. Hot tub and sauna were nice touches, as was the outdoor firepit. Suggest to bring your own firewood as most of the logs provided were difficult to split with an axe and were fairly wet. Ours was a winter stay (first week of Feb.) and we were hoping to skate and ice fish on the lake directly in front of the cottage. However, there was quite bit of open water as there is a nearby current feeding into the dam, so we didn't chance it. The air hockey and pool table located downstairs provided good entertainment. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

    Bruce2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, very large, great outdoor space and amazing hosts. We will definitely be going back. Thanks for a great experience, ladies!!

    Rachel2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great experience staying at Ping & Laura's cottage. From the friendly and helpful back and forth before the trip to the lovely welcome message, everything was wonderful. The cottage is very large but still maintains that cozy feel. All the amenities were fantastic from the hot tub to the game room to the indoor fireplace. There was so much to do I felt like I needed a longer stay just to take advantage of them all. I visited in the winter time and the snow covered scenery was beautiful.

    Steven2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • ing was amazing, she replied within minutes, answered all my questions! Our checkout date we got alot of snow and was unsafe to drive, ping understood and told us to stay safe and stay inside until the snow plows come through and clear the roads up, for no extra charge she was just amazing! Highly recommend and will be going back again!

    Safak2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is huge, way bigger than we expected. Lots of room to spread out. The hot tub and sauna are great to enjoy some time with friends. And the large variety of board games meant the fun didn’t end. Looking forward to visiting again, Ping and Laura are amazing hosts!

    Raj2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Ping and Laura were great hosts - quick, helpful and very responsive. The space was larger than we thought it would be - the high ceilings really opened the space up. There were nice touches like a variety of board games, a fully stocked kitchen with all of the drawers labeled for easy navigating, and the game tables in the basement kept us entertained. The hot tub, dry sauna, and fireplaces were just what we needed for a cozy winter getaway. There were 7 of us, but there were enough beds and space for way more. Definitely wished we could have stayed for longer than just a couple of nights!

Our place is close to Bala and Port Carling. You’ll love it! It's a big, one room, family cabin on a 6 acre forested property with a 40 sec. walk to our 1100 ft of shoreline on pristine Medora lake, with dock, canoe, great swimming and fishing. This place is good for couples or a family (with kids). A true Muskoka experience. The friendly and quiet owners who live next door have loved this incredible private property for 25 years and will ensure you have all the comforts you need.
  • Had a great weekend getaway at Jeff's cabin. Great escape from the city. It was beautiful, simple and relaxing.

    Sarah2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff’s property is beautiful and his hospitality is unmatched. We arrived later at night than expected and he was more than accommodating to our needs. The cabin was beautiful and had all the amenities one would need for a cozy weekend away. The cranberry marsh down the road is super charming and a local gem. We hope to be back soon!

    Daniel2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff and Maja's cabin was a wonderful find in the Muskoka region. Right next to a beautiful lake and set in a very tranquil environment, it was a truly memorable escape. They were both wonderful hosts and were very helpful. Even with some rain in late October (which we expected) the surroundings were so beautiful and the cabin was really cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again sometime in the future.

    Prabath2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff's place sits on 6 acres of forest and lakefront. It was a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. There is a beautiful boardwalk built through the forested area to lead you to the water. The cabin he built is also gorgeous. Very homey, log cabin feel. Everything we needed was there for us. His property is literally 3 minutes away from the cranberry marsh, where we stopped in to get some cranberry wine! Perfect if you like sweet wines. Jeff was very welcoming and kind. I'm sorry we did not chat more, he seems like he probably has a bunch of cool stories to share. Jeff's place is a definite recommend! 😊

    Theresa2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage, beautiful surroundings and location is perfect.

    Jeanette2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff and Maja were warm and lovely hosts. We hope to return in the summer for another stay! The Muskoka area is so overpriced and it was nice to stay somewhere for a reasonable price with down to earth people!

    Megan2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff’s cabin was well equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The cabin was clean and cozy. I would highly recommend this property.

    Nancy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • You will enjoy this cabin in the woods. There are a variety of things to do on the property; the cabin is cozy and well-supplied, or take a walk to the lake where there is plenty of frontage to take in and enjoy the scenery. Be sure to sit around the great campfire pit at night and enjoy the stars and quiet surroundings.

Nestled on a double lot with over 200' of frontage on the big east river, this uniquely cozy cabin has everything you need to enjoy Muskoka and the great outdoors in style. The cottage comes equipped with a 4pc. bathroom, full kitchen, dishwasher, propane BBQ, 8'x 28' deck overlooking the river, smart TV, Wifi, basement rec-room, AC, and washer and dryer. Your hosts live down the street and are happy to help make the best of your stay.
In 2018 we met with our good friends Christina and Wyatt to view this property, we immediately saw what a sweet little getaway it would be for a family or for some pals needing some R&R in nature and we went about buying it that day. Then for the next year our builder- Serge, essentially REBUILT the whole cottage (he has some great stories about the unique features the original cottage had, you can ask us!) and we dreamt up what we would want the cottage to feel like when we walked in the door. We envisioned a modern clean feel, tying the wonders of nature wherever we could. We wanted to portray how cozy and quiet it can be in the colder months, with all the wonders of winter activity just outside the door. AND how vivacious and bright it is in summer months, with hours of fun on the lazy river in sun, peaceful walks in the woodlands, evening cocktails on the deck or the fire pit gazing at the stars through the towering pines. which is how we came up with our (work-in-progress) name - Whispering Pine-apple.The sounds of the pines as the wind blows through is enchanting, and our crazy bright pineapple yellow cottage that we hope will breathe joy into the days spent here.
This cozy cabin is on a private, dead-end, gravel rd. and feels very private thanks to lots of tree cover and adjacent lots being vacant. 4 min drive to Arrowhead Provincial park and Nordic Centre, 10 min drive to historic and scenic downtown Huntsville and 40 min drive to Algonquin park. Great swimming hole right in front on property and
  • Our recent stay at whispering Pine-Apple was amazing. We went up so we could make us of Arrowhead, and weren’t disappointed - it was only minutes away. After hiking trails, all day, we really enjoyed relaxing at the cottage with a beautiful view seen through the large patio door. We made use of everything the cottage had to offer - outdoor fire pit, movie access, very comfortable living and sleep accommodations - I can say enough good things about this cottage. We were in touch with one of the hosts (Kacey), and she was very accommodating, and great with communication. We hope to be back soon!

  • We stayed a midweek in this fantastic house near to wonderful Ontario Parks and the nice place Huntsville. The house is complete, clean and very cosy! We would definitely book this place again and recommend it to other people.

  • Loved this little cabin out in the woods! Very quiet and great getaway from town! The location is super convenient to explore arrowhead or to go into town for food! The kitchen also is well stocked for meal prep!

  • My partner and I stayed here in February, and it was amazing. The place was clean and warm, large tub, close to town, Kasey was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. The pictures are amazing, but we were blown away when we arrived. We would recommend this space to anyone, and hope to visit again in the warmer months.

  • Beautiful little cabin in a quiet neighbourhood. Amazing place to relax and enjoy the outdoors, the porch is large and netted in to protect from bugs. Kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, cutlery and dish ware. The indoor fireplace is an amazing asset that kept the cabin cozy and warm. All in all, it was an amazing week and I enjoyed every moment. Olga was helpful and available by phone. Would recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to get away and enjoy Muskoka!

Olga is a wonderful host and communicates with us quickly if we have any questions or concerns. There is so much to do (hiking, exploring etc), and if we feel lazy, there is definitely lots to fill our time near the cottage. This time, we canoed at Faun Lake which was really nice and hiked around High Falls which was GORGEOUS! We had evening campfires and the area is super quiet so that is also a plus when resting and relaxing. Next year we are hoping to come a few times to Olga's cabin.

  • This was a perfect getaway for my family. Walking distance to the lake which was warm and clean. Great hiking as well.

  • Lovely little cabin with everything you need to get away for a few days! We basically lived in the front netted-off patio area, & bbq’d every day. Having the use of the canoe was excellent as well. Great location, it’s close to lots of places to hike & lakes to swim in.

  • A lovely place with a view to die for! A truly tranquil spot with local amenities only a 5 minute drive away if required. Could not recommend staying here enough!

    Jeffrey2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect cabin right on the water, our weekend felt very blissful at the beach house. The view, the design of the cabin, the location...pictures really don't do it justice! Checking in/out was easy, Sarah responded quickly to my messages and was very friendly. We were able to use the water toys and life jackets, the peddle boat was so much fun to take out on the water! The beach house had all the cookware you could possibly need. There's also a firepit located between the beach house and the water. Extremely clean and cozy, the beds and couches were so comfy. Amazing stay! I would highly recommend the beach house to others.

    Rachel2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Beach Cottage. It was exactly what we were looking for in a holiday spot. The cabin is bright and clean, with comfy beds, and steps from a beautiful sandy beach. The property is a short drive too many shops, restaurants, and places to explore. Sarah is a lovely host - kind, thoughtful, and a pleasure to deal with. We are already planning our next stay.

    Jenn2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • We were very happy with the cottage. Tastefully decorated, dust mold free. The beds are so comfortable! The pictures do not do justice!

    Nicole2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Sarah’s place. The cottage was well equipped and had everything you might need. Sarah was great to deal with. Check in/out was a breeze. The location was great, next to the water and also close to town. Would stay there again.

Lakeview Cottage on Peninsula Lake Located in Muskoka on beautiful Peninsula Lake with 200 feet of waterfront, this cottage has an amazing western view to watch evening sunsets. There is a sand beach with a gradual walk-in to swim and a dock. For the adventuresome there is a canoe, peddleboat and two kayaks. Also there is a shuffleboard court and horse pit. The cottage is close to Huntsville, Arrowhead and Algonquin Parks.
The cottage has double doors that open to a balcony right over the water. It has light housekeeping kitchen with bar fridge, microwave, two burner plate, broiler, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, coffee maker, kettle, and toaster. The cottage has a BBQ for you to cook that delicious meal. The living space has a sitting area with couch, two wing back chairs, satellite tv, air conditioning, fireplace, king sleigh bed, oversized whirlpool tub and bathroom with shower. All linens and towels are supplied. There are multiple sitting areas with Muskoka chairs, and chaise lounge chairs. Enjoy a romantic getaway and toast smores at the fire pit while gazing at the stars.
Summer Activities Algonquin Park: This beautiful park, which is located about 25 km from the cottage, stretches out over 7725 square kilometres of lakes, rivers, hills and forests. The best way to explore this rugged beauty is by canoe or foot. the park over 1500 km of canoe routes for both the novice and experienced. While hiking on one of the 14 day trails ranging from 0.8km to 11km you can view such things as Whiskey Rapids, abandoned railways and beaver ponds. Mining mountain bike trail is a moderately difficult trail through hilly hardwood forest with loops of 4.7km to 23km. For those who just want to enjoy the scenery and relax the park is a great place for swimming, wildlife viewing, fishing and picnics. There are three facilities within the Park that are worth visiting and they will introduce you to the human and natural history of the Park through exhibits, these are the Visitor Centre, the Logging Museum and the Art Centre. The WOLF HOWL should be on everyone's bucket list of things to do. Every Thursday evening in August, the evening begins at the Outdoor Theatre with a talk on wolf ecology. The Howl attendees receive instructions on event protocol before driving to the Howl site along Highway 60. Then the naturalist team make imitation howls to encourage the wolves to respond so you can hear their haunting harmonies. Note: Make sure it is happening before going to the park. Dorset Fire Tower The Tower is situated on a 500 foot peak overlooking dorset and Trading Bay. This 100 foot steel tower gives a wonderful view and an ideal spot to photograph. From late September to early October, the changing colour of the leaves is at its most beautiful. The view from the tower at this time if year is one you shouldn't miss. Ragged Falls A 400 foot cascade over falls and rapids, this is a spectacular place to take pictures. Located two miles east of Oxtongue Lake. Golf Courses The are four golf courses in the immediate area, Deehurst Lakeside and Highlands, Grandview and Huntsville Downs.
  • The boat house was such a cute place to have a relaxing wintery weekend! The location made for a good jumping off point to Algonquin and other attractions nearby to Huntsville. Our hosts took care of a small number of issues we faced related to the unexpected cold weather. Our only real disappointment was not feeling like we took full advantage of all the things available to us!

    Jennifer2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Where do I begin to describe Dee and Doug's place? The pictures do not do this place justice. From the second we drove up to the property, we were met with the most beautiful view of the lake. The unique little space that was created above the boathouse is stunning. We absolutely enjoyed the back deck that looked out onto the water, the cozy fireplace , the whirlpool tub and the area in general. It was the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Dee was of course there to greet us which was so nice. She showed us around the space and made us feel very at home and comfortable. She was quick to respond to any questions we may have had. It's in a great location, just a 10 minute drive from downtown Huntsville where you'll find quaint shops, cafes and restaurants. The scenery of being out there during Fall is breathtaking. We are so looking forward to going back there again. I can't say enough amazing things about this place! Thank you Dee and Doug!

    Natalie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was so comfy and cozy with a spectacular view of the lake and the colourful trees, it made for a perfect weekend get-away to spend some quality couple time and admire the beautiful fall colours. The jacuzzi tub was a nice touch to relax and sooth our sore muscles from all the hiking and biking we did in Algonquin park. The cabin is exactly as it appears in the photos and it’s spotlessly clean. The towels were clean and fresh as were the sheets on the very comfy bed. We were very pleased with our stay in the cabin and we hope we can make it back next fall...and every fall after! I highly recommend this cabin for some couples ‘re-connect’ time and to get outdoors and take in the beauty of the Muskoka region.

    Kiersty2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Dee’s Lakeview Cottage is immaculate—total peace and tranquillity. My husband enjoyed the fishing from both the canoe and dock. We both loved relaxing on the upper deck overlooking the lake. We were also treated with the view of the Fall colours across the lake of Hidden Valley Ski hills. Every view was perfect.

    Jayne2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Look no further, best Airbnb near Algonquin Park. If you are like us, looking for a private, quiet, clean, scenic cottage both close to Algonquin Park and Huntsville, this is the place. Host is extremely responsive, with great hospitality. This cute little cottage is right on the lake, with 5 star hotel cleanliness. More than plenty white soft towels are provided, which is not what you usually experience at Airbnbs. Whirlpool bathtub is a plus, especially after a day of hikes or drives. Will definitely come back!

Nestled in the pines on the Muskoka River is this cozy one-bedroom cottage, ideal for a couple’s retreat. Kick-a-root cottage offers the best of all worlds: it is relaxing, tranquil, and private, but you’re only a 10-minute drive from the Town of Bracebridge with unique shops, restaurants, groceries, and breweries, not to mention numerous tourist attractions. Marked trails are direct across the river. For more photos and information visit us on IG (at) kickarootcottage
Kick-A-Root is complete with a new dock, watercraft and lifejackets (kayak x2, with large boat launching facilities close by), bicycles, a firepit, a gas BBQ, two decks, (the back one ideal for yoga -we even have the mat, the front one to watch the sunset), two electric fireplaces, a new 40" flat-screen TV and movies. A pull-out couch is available if you want to bring a friend, or another couple with you. Kick-a-root is conveniently located on Muskoka River (there is a dead end dirt road that separates the front of the cottage from the waterfront), has recently been completely updated with new furnishings to reflect the true north, is clean and ready to enjoy.
With the town of Bracebridge less than 10 minutes away you can have the best of both worlds, quiet, relaxing river side or pop in to town to have a bite to eat or walk the historic streets. There's even a golf course right around the corner from the cottage. There is definitely something for everyone in "The Bridge". There are other cottages/homes on the street with us and on either side. A row of trees and shrubs seperate the property from the neighbours. There are no cottages in front or behind us.
  • Kick-a-root is a beautiful and cozy cottage! It was perfect for our new years getaway with our toddler and 2 pups. The check in process was very easy and we were surprised to find a welcome gift that even included toys for our dogs :) Mandie and David are awesome hosts, communication was great and the area was lovely, it felt like a winter wonderland.

  • Thanks for making our mini vacation extra special. Arriving at night can sometimes be a challenge, but Kevo made it simple and easy. Not to mention the lovely note and gift for both us and Jester our senior greyhound. It was the perfect place for some rest and relaxation for us. Sparkling clean and cozy, and in a perfect location. You’re prompt responsiveness to any questions, and tips on what to do in area were greatly appreciated. Thank you both for sharing your little gem of a cottage with us. We most definitely will be back.

  • My wife and I were looking to get away for a weekend in Muskoka at a quaint cottage. We found Mandie & David's Airbnb and instantly booked the first available time. If you are looking for a beautifully decorated, clean and well maintained cottage you will not be disappointed. It has all the charm of a dreamy Muskoka cottage. Mandie and David were extremely easy to communicate with and were always available to answer any questions we had. The cottage sits on the Muskoka River so if you love kayaking, fishing or suping, you will not be disappointed. My wife and I are already planning our next visit. Thanks for a great weekend Mandie and Dave!

  • Perfect getaway cottage for a couple, the location is super close to the cozy town of Bracebridge, a town that just exudes Muskoka joie-de-vivre. The Cottage is located on the river, and has access to allow for kayaking and exploring. Full kitchen, spacious living areas make for a wonderful stay. Bring your camera because even in the November snow we found it simply gorgeous.

    Ashley2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Spent the weekend at Kick-A-Root and was lucky to see the first snowfall of the season in this terrific setting. You’d be hard pressed to find a cozier, cleaner, more welcome get away than this little slice of Muskoka. With the river a literal stones throw from the front door and some great trails all around, the location is great. Mandie and David are perfect hosts. I can’t think of anything I would improve. I look forward to returning in warmer weather and taking advantage of the river. Oh, and Hudson, the neighbourhood greeter, really is a gentle giant.

Come stay in our cozy historic 100 year old home in the Village of Rosseau. Newly renovated, modern comforts. Walking distance to everything, close to Public Beach, General Store and fine dining restaurant. Enjoy authentic Muskoka village life.
This cozy historic village home called "Hollyhock Cottage" was purchased by my wife's great grandparents in 1919. The Century old home has remained in the family and has been beautifully renovated to modern standards. It is our pleasure to share it with our guests. We offer a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen has custom built cabinets crafted by Jennifer's uncle and gives it a comfortable country kitchen atmosphere. In front of the kitchen window is a breakfast corner table where you can relax over breakfast and morning coffee. The master bedrooms has a Queen sized bed with colour coordinated decor. Queen bed, and the second bedroom (with a twin bed), small bathroom, and a cozy living/dining room combination with a stone fireplace. We have still some days left in August. This is my favorite time of summer in the village with some wonderful activities and summer weather in full swing. Reserve your time while it is still available.
Rosseau definitely has Muskoka Village charm. From the Country General Store, Lake Rosseau Beach, Local Bakery with it's famous Butter Tarts and Friday's Farmers Market with many Artists and local vendors , including Live Entertainment . The village has something for everyone. A short walk from the house is the public beach (beach, playground, docks and boat launch), Marina, Farmer' Market on Fridays, and Sunday antique market. There are many shops in the village: Bakery, Craft Store, Flower shops, book store, and much more. Crossroads Restaurant offers fine dining, The Rosseau General Store . There is also a Nursing Station. Muskoka Woods Sports Resort and Rosseau Lake College are also close by.
  • This is a great spot that’s easy to get to located in a beautiful little village in the heart of Muskoka. An easy walk to a fabulous restaurant and close to the lake. What more could you ask for? Fresh and up-to-date, it’s a cosy space for a quiet getaway.

  • Had a perfect stay at Yogi and Jen's. The cottage is wonderful, very very comfortable, clean, cosy, excellent facilities eg fully equipped kitchen, big shower, board games, even slippers! Yogi and Jen go that bit extra to really make your stay special. The cottage is a 2 min walk to village of Rosseau (great restaurant at crossroads), 5 min walk to lake, 40 min drive to Arrowhead park where there are reasonably priced snow activities for all levels eg snow shoeing and nordic skiing etc (very easy and straightforward to rent gear). Highly recommend staying here, excellent value for money and no corners cut. Thank you both again!

Canoeing and kayaking in fall was a breathtaking experience. Pine lake in October was very quiet and private. Best place to have a relaxing vacation.

  • My family and I came to Pine lake for our Thanksgiving weekend. Place was sparkling clean with all the amenities to cook a delicious turkey dinner. Matt and his wife were lovely. Communication was easy and the area is gorgeous during the autumn. We loved the cozy fire and the view of the full moon rising over the lake.

    Nina2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The place was beautiful and clean when we arrived. It was much larger then we thought too. Beauty sunrise through the main view window. This place was stalked with everything you need! Seriously. From spices to shampoo just take a look through the drawers. We went in the fall and the wood stove worked like a charm. Water front was more than ideal. Would love to go back there again!

  • Wonderful touches, spacious cottage, in a beautiful and quiet location. Impeccably clean and stylishly decorated. Quinn was a very accommodating and responsive host. Hot tub was a wonderful addition! Highly recommend a stay here!

  • Great experience! The cottage was perfect as was the location. We were able to relax completely, which was the reason for the stay. Nice touches and great communication.

  • Had a really great stay and enjoyed the hot tub

    Paul2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best AirBNB's I have stayed at. It was spacious, clean, had everything we needed. The hot tub was amazing and a treat after going snowshoeing and skating nearby. If you are going in winter, the driveway to get into the cottage is a bit steep so winter tires are helpful! We have all seasons and made it in ok after 2 tries. Quinn did a great job ensuring the road was adequately plowed!

    Noreen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A quiet, well equipped and spacious space. The host was thoughtful and so very quick with answers to any questions we had. Perfect for a quiet get away and enough room for you to invite friends. Enjoy!

  • What a beautiful cottage and a great host! A wonderful find - hope to visit the place in a summer!

  • David’s cottage was the perfect setting for our family gathering! All amenities were in working order and plenty of glasses, dishes and pots and pans are provided. Most of our time was spent outdoors enjoying the spectacular views and sunsets. Enjoying meals outdoors on the large table was perfect or simply lounging on the comfy couch overlooking the bay. Being so close to Port Carling was advantageous as we brought our boat and the launch was only 5 minutes away. We enjoyed having use of the stand up boards as well! David was quite thorough with the description of the cottage and there was no need to contact him during our stay.

    Jerry2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful cottage and could not have been happier with the space and location. David was a great host who was available with quick responses to all of my questions. I would caution anyone with older guests that the couches in the living space are VERY low to the ground and can be difficult to get out of. We moved the futon into the living room which was perfect for our family. Would highly recommend staying at this beautiful cottage.

    Bryan2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • David is a very thoughtful and responsive host. He also helped us with some special requests we had. The place itself is awesome. Both the cottage itself and all the surroundings. Great location. Hope to visit the place again some day.

  • An awesome place, lovely modern cottage, quiet, yet super close to Port Carling. Hard to find a better place than this.

    Cristiana2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely property close to the water with lots to do whether it’s swimming, hanging on the docks, playing games, bbq or just enjoying the beautiful sunset while kayaking. The view is amazing at both sunrise and sunset. The house was a good size for our family of six. We enjoyed lunch/dinner on the outdoor dining table, slept in the hammock and spent every night around the fire pit. Surprisingly, there wasn’t many mosquitos. It was a great getaway. Thanks for an awesome trip.

    Allana2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The property for this cottage is even better than the photos. We would definitely look to book again!

    Andrew2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • A cottage week on Lake Rosseau is a perfect vacation. This is property is situated on a quiet bay, a short hop on water or walk to the town of Port Carling. Our favourite was the sunsets; the cottage faces west, each night the sun would set across the bay in the most spectacular way. Followed by the stars. It was a warm week, water temps were great! Each room has ceiling fan and good ventilation so sleeping was a breeze (literally).

Welcome to our Muskoka Retreat. The complimentary Provincial Park Pass can be used between check in and check out times. Our property is surrounded by trees, on 3+ acres of forested land. The guest house sits above a newly built detached garage (2019), which is only used for storage. The decor is fresh and intimate, with warm wood accents. Our home is 75 feet away, where we reside year round. The guest house has private access, via a set of outdoor stairs. There is a dedicated parking space.
The guest house is 650 sq ft, which includes a bedroom with a queen bed, a bathroom, and an open concept kitchen / living room with a queen size pullout couch, and a beautiful wood vaulted ceiling. The sliding glass doors open into the covered screened in porch where you can sit and relax with a coffee, or enjoy a meal . The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, microwave, convection toaster oven, double induction burners, toaster, kettle and coffee press. A private barbecue is also available on the lower patio. There is central heating and air conditioning. There is WIFI / fibre optic, and a 50" Smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime TV. There is also an HDMI cable to use for any of devices.
In the heart of beautiful Muskoka, you will find the quaint town of Huntsville, which is surrounded by lakes, forests and wildlife. We offer our guests the free use of our Provincial Park Pass to access Algonquin Provincial Park all year round, as well as Arrowhead Provincial Park which which is also open year round, but closes mid October to mid December. Both Parks are only a 15-30min scenic drive away and offer lakes, beaches, fishing and hiking trails in the summer months, and skating, tubing, snowshoeing and cross country skiing in the winter months. There is lots of opportunity to birdwatch and view wildlife, especially moose in Algonquin Park. Huntsville offers shopping, grocery stores, restaurants and entertainment, as well as local markets, and several beautiful locations to golf. We are located only 10 minutes from the town center, in a quiet neighborhood where all the homes have multi acre lots. It is a picturesque, rural setting surrounded by forest, wildlife and nature. While there are numerous lakes and beaches to pick from within a short drive, one of the nicest, Hutcheson Beach, is only 5 minutes down the road by car. Here you will find a large, sandy, shallow beach with plenty of shady areas. It is our favorite place to watch the sunset. It is also a great place to launch a boat, canoe or kayak, should you bring or rent one. We provide towels, beach chairs and a beach umbrella to make your beach experience great! Please note that in Muskoka, the month of June can produce black flies and mosquitoes. Mosquitoes linger into the month of July, mostly in the evening. Bug spray is recommended during these months. However, if the bugs are a nuisance, we have the fabulous screened in porch where you can relax and listen to birds by day, and wolves and owls by night.
  • Pam and Glenn were great hosts - very informative, quick to reply and overall extremely welcoming upon our arrival ! They have everything you could need for a private getaway ! Lots of board games, local restaurant/places to see recommendations, and a collection of local trail maps. Glenn’s chocolate chip cookies were absolutely DELICIOUS !! This was the perfect space to be “self-isolated” for the past 4 days !

    Emily2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing stay! Very clean and it was a beautiful warm place that easily felt like a home away from home. Pam and Glenn were amazing and worked diligently around the clock to make sure our stay was perfect! Even though we had a power outage they made sure they have a generator going to make sure we had power! 10/10 would recommend!

    Melissa2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place was amazing! So stylish and very clean. Pam and Glenn allow you to use their park pass and also have things for you at home (fire pit, movies, snowshoes). They are both so thoughtful, with local recommendations as well as some homemade sweet treats they left for us! Another plus is how quick at replying they are if you need anything before or during your stay! I definitely recommend this airbnb!

    Katherine2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect location, it has everything you may need to feel good and to have a wonderful time. The place is clean and tidy, modern, with everything necessary. A very cosy cottage ! Highly recommend it !

  • This little spot of Pam and Glenn's was a dream. If your looking to stay in this area I definitely recommend staying at their guest house. We couldn't say enough good things about our time there 10/10 all around!!

    Somer2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was wonderful! Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It is full of windows which brighten the space with natural light and let us see the undisturbed snow-covered trees around it. Pam and Glenn were gracious hosts who were knowledgeable of the area, and were very accommodating letting us check out a little later. Also the homemade cookies were a nice bonus touch. Thanks for having us!

    David2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Pam and Glenn's guesthouse is absolutely beautiful! Extremely comfortable furnishings and it really just feels like home for the time of your stay.

    Julia2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • By far the best Airbnb I've ever stayed at. Comfortable, clean (literally spotless), and oh so charming and homey. Ideal location as it is close to Huntsville and Arrowhead Prov. Park. The park pass included will save you daily entry fees. If you need a place in Hunstville, stay here. You will not regret it. I highly recommend their spot. Thank you Glen and Pam for hosting us!

  • Such a great find! Daniel’s Bunkie is a wonderful spot for a weekend getaway – feels secluded despite being close to downtown. It’s perched right on the water and is totally peaceful. Great views, very comfortable (the space is exactly as advertised) and well equipped. Daniel obviously loves treating his guests well – the roaring fire, fresh fruit, chocolates and good coffee…it was all appreciated. He definitely deserves the Superhost status!

    Sean2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel’s place is absolutely wonderful! The location is stunning ! We went up for a cold fall/winter getaway and spent the whole weekend indoors admiring the scenery around us , you really cant beat the location and the view of the lake and the trees. Daniel was an incredible host and very thoughtful to constantly go out of his way for his guests . Would highly recommend this spot , fantastic little romantic getaway in this cabin that provided you with everything that you needed . Looking forward to coming back again

    MegAndy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The weather was overcast and cool but my bunkie was perfect. Well appointed, to even being luxurious; great bed, down duvet, chocolate mints at my bedstand and fresh fruit on the kitchen table (felt pampered). Never stayed at a bunkie before but this place probably sets the bar for accommodations. Also very, very, clean which immediately makes you very comfortable. Would definitely recommend Daniel's bunkie.

In search of privacy, stunning views, beautiful natural waterfront and outstanding accommodation? This impressive architect owned and designed cottage delivers. Watch heron fly into the wetlands or otter swim by. Relax ... you have found "Serenity".
On Otter Lake, we frown on the noise and pollution from boat motors so only canoes, kayaks, sail boats and paddle boats can be seen albeit infrequently. The dock out to deeper water allows for swimming and diving or watercraft mooring. A winding granite lane sweeps down to the cottage/home's entrance courtyard where glimpses of the lake around and through the home can be seen. The cottage/home sits on an exposed plateau of the Canadian Shield at the base of a point within meters of the lake on one side and a bay on the other. Your attention will be captured as soon as the front door opens and you enter the foyer. Twenty five foot high floor to ceiling windows with 8' high and 7' wide sliding patio doors, flanking a granite clad Rumford wood burning fireplace, offer a magnificent outlook up Otter Lake and across Serenity Bay. The stone tile floor sets off the majestic fireplace that features hand cut and split granite stone. This lovely space will embrace winter visitors who want to relax in front of the fire while the snow gently drifts down outside, just as much as those cooling down after a day of summer fun. The Great Room also features a centrally located docking station for your iPhone or iPad that allows you to channel your music through the speaker system or use the built-in iPad or Blu-Ray DVD/CD player to control the 55' Samsung Smart TV or listen to an array of Satellite radio stations. The Dining/Kitchen area, within the Great Room, comfortably seats 10 at the extra-large harvest table and 4 at the kitchen island with direct access to the large outdoor Lake Terrace. The Lakeside Terrace is well appointed with teak chaise loungers alongside complimentary chairs and features a large direct connect gas BBQ, no need to worry about the propane supply! What a great place to relax with a morning coffee or that after dinner drink. With its prominent location adjacent to the Dining Room, the oversized sliding doors equipped with screens create a seamless indoor/outdoor environment for family and friend gatherings. For that late evening bonfire, the Lakeside Terrace also features a natural Rumford fireplace that backs onto the indoor Rumford. The 10' wide and 27' high overhanging roof protects the terrace from light showers. Or go down to the point and the dock where a fire pit sits atop a piece of the Canadian Shield. The Chef's kitchen is designed with the professional cook in mind and features a 12' Brazilian granite slab island so all can enjoy getting involved or sit and watch the "chef" at work. The kitchen has been designed to accommodate a gas cooktop, microwave/convection oven combo unit, dishwasher, wine and beverage cooler along with a wide range of top name small appliances. Just off to the side of the Great Room is a comfortable Muskoka Room, perfect for playing games, watching TV or curling up with a good book. The oversized screened patio doors allow this room useful access to the outdoors in both summer and winter. Continuing on down the hall in the West Wing there are two large bedrooms, each with a spectacular view of the lake and highlights a queen size bed and bunk beds in each room? Also in the West Wing is a 4-piece Bathroom with a vessel sink on a marble vanity. The Loft overlooks the Great Room with a ping-pong table, yoga mats, weights for light exercise, a lovely view of the lake on one side and features a 20' high dormer window with a gorgeous view of the forest beyond on the other side. On this same level, also overlooking the Great Room, is a fourth Bedroom with a king size bed and Ensuite Bathroom with an oversized walk-in shower with rain head, massaging jets and sliding glass door. Back on the main level just off of the entrance making it central to the entire house is a fully equipped Laundry Room complete with washer, dryer, utility sink and ironing board. The Master Bedroom is on the main floor in the East Wing and features a king size bed, Scandinavian high-efficiency wood burning stove, a large walk-in closet area and a spectacular Ensuite Bathroom with trough style wash basin, oversized walk-in shower with rain head and massaging jets. This very private side of the home provides spectacular views across the bay and down into the wetlands, even from the washroom and shower, again, meters from the water's edge where wildlife abounds. This stunning property is accessible and enjoyable year round, so by all means take advantage of the warmer weather, an autumn blast of colour or a winter wonderland. "Serenity" provides enjoyment all year round with something special throughout each season.
What do we love about 'Serenity'? The solitude and tranquility. One only has to set foot on the property and you feel the stress drain from your body. 'Serenity' is very grounding.
  • This place was amazing and it looked better than the pictures. I would highly recommend coming here. The beds were comfortable, the place was extremely clean, and the views were amazing.

  • What a wonderful place to end/start a year. We stayed at Serenity for the holidays and we didn’t want to leave. We had a fantastic time, everything either matched the description or exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend.

    Layana2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Serenity was a perfect place for our family to spend the Christmas holidays. Colin greeted us when we arrived and had a roaring fire and everything decorated for Christmas. That was such a pleasant surprise. The place is immaculate and well-appointed. The beds are comfortable and linens/towels were provided. The kitchen is fully stocked and well organized. Colin has thought of everything. We spent a day at Arrowhead Provincial Park and loved the Skate Trail, hiking trails and x-country skiing. The park provides rentals. We also enjoyed Huntsville with great stores (Algonquin Outfitters is amazing) and restaurants. Just one note about the sleeping accommodations is the upper floor bedroom is open to the living area and not conducive to the "early to bed/late risers". We enjoyed our time and Colin was the perfect host.

    Kathleen2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house in a beautiful location.

    Gina2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Colin has rightfully earned his “super host” status for creating such a beautiful, peaceful, cozy, like home, space. He greeted us upon arrival so he could give us a tour of the home and showed us everything we needed to know for the duration of our stay. His home is well equipped with any and everything you could possibly need while staying there - a wide selection of games, movies, all kitchen utensils you could need if you enjoy cooking/baking e.t.c. The place was very clean, towels and linens smelled fresh and were good quality. The house was very organized and things like the garbage bins, light switches, were labelled so you didn’t have to do a lot of guessing. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back in the summer. If you’re thinking about staying here, stop thinking, just book it. You won’t regret it! Maya

  • This huge cottage is just one word to described..Fabulous. From the unique design, all the amenities, cleanliness, great host Colin to invite you at the door, and of course.. the LAKE VIEW. It’s just beautiful. Our family and friends all have the most enjoyable time together and would highly recommend anyone wanna share this experience with.
