THE-BEST-SEA-VIEW 3'ferrytoValletta

!! All taxes (tourist tax of 1,5 euro a day for peron and vat) are included in the price !! Enjoy this boutique one-bedroom apartment with stunning sea-views located in the history-steeped town of Senglea within walking distance to Birgu and just 3 (but amazing) minutes ferry to Valletta. The apartment has a variety of original Maltese features and provides an authentic experience. In the hart of the historic Malta, set right at the magnificent waterfront of the oldest of the Three cities (founded by the Knights in 1552), this apartment offers stunning views, authentic historical setting for the sophisticated traveler and all the modern conveniences at a knock-down price! Among the latter we count convenient ferry, bus and water taxi transport links to Valletta and beyond, exquisite restaurant and bar outlets just across the creek, plus the numerous local establishments at hand. The apartment is furnished with a tasteful emphasis on the original Maltese features now rapidly disappearing throughout the island's noisier and busier tourist areas. These features include traditional patterned tiles (to keep the weary traveler's feet cool in the heat), traditional Maltese balcony insightfully converted into a dining room with breath-taking views of the Grand harbour and the cities of Valletta and Vittoriosa (beautiful settings should finally be counted as the necessary condition for healthy eating and living!). Old wooden beams adorn the aristocratic high ceilings, adding a touch of nostalgic grandeur. All this combines to offer an unbeatable travel experience which breaks radically with the standardized mass hotel packages of today's tourist industry. Come and explore a little-known Maltese locality which offers a glimpse into the authentic Maltese life-style; a locality that is distant, yet close enough to the more established sites. The ferry connection to Valletta(4min) across the Grand Harbour is second to no other type of transportation (sometimes the truth of the old worn-out proverb that the journey is more important than the destination holds unconditionally but if you insist on renting a car, there is plenty of parking space also). The apartment comprises a bedroom with a double niche bed, a spacious and elegantly vintage-furnished living room (with a sofa-bed), a dining area, a fully equipped kitchenette (for those who are tired of eating out and want to experiment with local fresh produce at home) and a bathroom (needless to say, also with sea views!). The property is just around 10..15 min taxi from the airport.

All about Malta

Floating in the southeastern Mediterranean between Sicily and Libya is Malta, the tiny archipelago nation whose main islands, Malta, Gozo and Camino, are famous for their UNESCO sites. Over the last 7,000 years, several civilizations have left their cultural and artistic stamps on the country. You’ll find a mix of Roman, Arab, French, Italian, and British influences here, including in the language, Malti, a Siculo-Arabic dialect that’s Semitic in origin and has taken on some distinctly European words.

Walking through the cobblestone streets of the capital, Valletta, you’ll find incredible architectural variety, including prehistoric temples and the perfectly preserved back streets of Vittoriosa, the original home of the Knights of Malta. Apart from its cultural importance, Malta has plenty of outdoor attractions to explore, including fossil-studded cliffs, secret coves, blue lagoons, peaceful beaches, and some of the best scuba diving in the region.

What are the top things to do in Malta?

Valletta

Valletta, the capital of Malta, is just 24 square miles, making it the smallest capital in Europe. The entire city itself is a UNESCO Heritage Site, so just walking around is a marvel. Explore St. John’s Co-Cathedral, a richly ornate example of Baroque architecture; and the Upper Barrakka Gardens, parks created in 1661 for the Knights of St. John, with fountains, sculptures, and arched colonnades that boast glorious views of Malta and the harbor.

Gozo

A 45-minute ferry ride from Malta is Gozo, a rural island with farmhouses and fishing villages as well as ancient treasures like the 5,000-year-old Ġgantija temples, a UNESCO Heritage Site and the oldest free-standing monuments in the world. Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu Basilica is also not to be missed, with its scenic views, 15th-century history, and sculptures made with Maltese stone. And for those with PADI cards, the island’s reefs, caves, and shipwrecks make it one of the best diving sites in the Mediterranean.

The Hypogeum

The third UNESCO Heritage Site in Malta is the Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum, an underground complex that is thought by archeologists to have been used as a sanctuary and cemetery. It was cut entirely out of limestone with prehistoric tools like flint and antlers. The Hypogeum dates from 3600 B.C.E., making it one of the best preserved and most essential structures from the Neolithic era.
