  • We would strongly recommend a stay at Hendre Hall. We think out of the two pods available, we had the best. The views were beautiful to wake up to. The goats were an Awesome addition and there was a lovely unexpected touch on arrival to our pod. The hosts were quick to respond to any messages sent prior to arrival and very helpful and welcoming once we were there. We would love to stay again. Only word of advice would be to bring a good torch or lamp. Once we had put our baby to bed and turned off the inside light, there was no light outside as there is only one switch to control both lights.

  • A great location for exploring the coastline. Friendly hosts and accommodation with everything you need. Super warm and snuggly inside, and waking up to a sea view was the cherry on top!

  • We had a great night at the hut. Self check in was easy, the hut is basic but comfortable and thankfully the heating was working really well as it’s November and it’s starting to get cold ! The view in the morning waking up is pretty great.

    Marion2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great for families that don’t mind snuggling up together. We brought our puppy who loved the walks and time together.

A view of Bird Rock from the bedroom window was breathtaking. Very down to earth and kind and thoughtful. Highly recommended x

  • A lovely cosy cottage , exactly like pictures shown . Beautiful location , our children loved exploring the grounds and will miss saying good morning to the sheep and picking thier apples from the orchard , oh and bouncing on the huge trampoline. Hosts are lovely and very knowledgeable of the area giving us ideas of local walks we could do with the children .lovely little extras like board games and books for the children and not forgetting the Welsh cakes and milk ready for when we arrived . Will definitely return .

  • This is a great place. Well appointed, uncluttered but with everything you need. The hosts are friendly, kind and helpful. We were traveling with two teenagers and the place accommodated them well with movies, boardgames, trampoline, etc. Wifi is slow but adequate. We were only able to get mobile connection outside the cottage in the yard with Three but other companies might have better coverage. The cottage is small but feels spacious. Close to the bus stop to get supplies in Tywyn and also ample space for parking for guests with their own car. The narrow roads are not for the faint of heart so I would recommend transit or walking but other travellers seem to handle the roads better than I did. The cottage is also peaceful and quiet at night with consistently gorgeous sunny mornings. Really. In Wales. Highly recommended.

  • This place is such a charming little gem and Phil and Joy are absolutely delightful hosts. They were both so accommodating and helpful and made us feel really comfortable and settled. The place itself is absolutely lovely for a cosy little break, it's really well located and there is plenty to explore locally or it's well placed to lots of awesome walks/lakes/beaches etc if you have a car too. Phil was really kindly helped us pick out walks that would work with the weather which was very thoughtful too.

The facilities are great, more than most, and we were very grateful for them, Kate had thought of all, & more, that visitors may need. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the apartment, and will look forward to another visit soon.

  • Jacki's caravan is home from home, lovely little personal touches that made our stay more special. Very clean and tidy, lovely caravan set within such a beautiful part of the country. Would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be back soon

    Rebecca2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jacki managed to create a very welcoming atmosphere in her caravan. My little son, who is 4 years old, told me that he feels like it is our home...my daughter, 9 years old, was asking if we can live in this caravan. Both children didn’t want to go back home to Manchester... The internet was working very well, TV too. There is a new boiler in the caravan and hub/oven. Everything looked very tidy and most of the stuff looked and felt like brand new. Jacki definitely thinks a lot about making her guests feel comfortable and enjoy their stay. The good thing about the area is that in good or bad weather you can always find something interesting to do with or without kids, you just need to make a good search online or from the leaflets of the area... as for me, next time I will probably come in my own, because there are enormous beautiful pathways for hiking... All in all our 4 days/nights trip was great.

    Tatiana2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • I can highly recommend a stay at Jacki’s accommodation. It has everything you need - Sky TV, DVDs, games, books, great kitchen, central heating, etc. The Park clubhouse has a lovely warm swimming pool which is free to use - we often had it to ourselves as we visited off-season.

    Martin2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • At Jacki’s place you will feel welcome, at home and be in the midst of the most stunning scenery. I needed a good rest and a bit of solitude and this place gave me that. It’s a real home from home and I’ll miss it until my next visit, which hopefully won’t be too long!

    Sarah2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Jacki's caravan because I was volunteering at The Hurly-Burly swim event at Barmouth. My son, his partner and my 2 grandchildren, ages 2 & 3, accompanied me for a little holiday. However, the event was cancelled last minute due to the extreme weather. I wasn't familiar with the area but I'm so glad we booked where we did because we had such a lovely time even with the mad weather. The caravan was much better than expected and there was plenty of room for the 5 of us. Jacki's thoughtful, welcoming, extras (Barabrith, welsh cakes, milk, butter etc) ensured the first thing we did was had tea and cake. They were very much appreciated. The caravan provided all the creature comforts, it had the best-equipped kitchen I've seen for a long while (even the knives were sharp) and it was warm and cosy when it was really blowing a hooley outside. A real home from home. My grandchildren slept much longer than usual and loved the novelty of the caravan. The beach is one-minute walk away (my son and I swam in the wild sea) and the clubhouse, with the nicest indoor pool and changing rooms, is 5 minutes walk away. There is a bar, restaurant, soft play, amusement arcade, outdoor play and the staff are really friendly and helpful. We loved that you could get the local train from Llwyngwril (you need to put your arm out!) up and down the coast meaning there was less need to use the car. It is a great location for Dolgellau and its parkrun. If I needed to contact Jacki, I could text her and she responded immediately. She is one of the best hosts ever. I can't recommend this Airbnb highly enough. We will return.

  • Our stay at Jacki's 'home away from home' was fantastic. It had everything we needed, a very comfortable bed, a powerful shower, access to the holiday parks great facilities and a walk to a stunning shore line less than a minutes walk away. Our 2 year old, 8 month old and 2 dogs had a great time too with the caravan fully equipped for them as well as us. The little touches on arrival and regular communication meant that we couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Jacki. We hope to come back again soon!

I want emphasise to all our visitors that you must not use the postcode in a sat-nav for the last bit of the journey....LL36 9TR in a sat-nav directs you up the wrong lane to Bodilan Fawr- the geographical centre of the postcode. Walks, cycle, bird watch, fish. Visit Cader Idris mountain sheep farm, see/feed horses, dogs, etc. Children love! Views to Bird Rock down valley fields towards sea. Peace! Every facility needed in van. Single van in secure walled grass garden, trees.
Below is a description from a guest describing the caravan: ‘Well, where do we start?! This was just everything and more! The caravan is fully equipped for all our needs, even has free wifi! The Garden is perfect and more than we hoped and the area just bliss, The views are stunning! The caravan is funky! The bed super comfy! All you need is driving distance. its perfect for relaxing and gives you a very special secluded feeling... Thank You.
  • This is our third stay in the caravan. We love coming here. The area is stunning, the caravan is cosy and warm and the children love exploring the beatiful surroundings. Ken and family are great hosts. It's the perfect place to relax. Thank you again. Hope to be back again soon!

    Heidi2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful venue for a weekend away, the views were stunning (when the weather was clear anyway!) and it was perfect for a hideaway from the modern world. No signal, check! Local pub, check! Awesome views, check! On site dog, check! What more do you need!? My only bit of advice is on the instructions to get to the caravan, where its says turn left (from the East by the way!), to make sure you are on the right road look for a building on your left-hand side (before you leave the village) with a burgundy and cream text sign. Then just keep driving straight for about 1.5 to 2 miles up/down/back up again/down etc until you see the phone box. But all in all, what a fabulous location for a fabulous price!

    Charlotte2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible location, worth it even just for the view from the caravan window. Well located for hikes and exploration.

    Alun2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Another super stay at this cozy breakaway. It was just what we needed after Christmas, just some time away from our busy lives. The caravan is a little hideaway where you really can escape your troubles. All you need is here, the only thing you need is your food, clothes and selves. Great walks, great views and good location. If you want to be scheduled then here is the place to be. Perfect for the dogs with enclosed garden. We loved seeing the animals too. Home from home as we live in a village full of farms but it’s nicer to be somewhere new. We will be back soon. 😊

    Rachel And Ben2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location with everything you need within the caravan. Beautiful surroundings and wildlife, great for kids too! We’ll definitely be back!

    Kirsty2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is quite an old-fashioned caravan but everything works fine, it's warm and dry, and it's in the most beautiful spot surrounded by mountains, streams and farm animals. We've been twice and will definitely come again.

    Simon2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Over all a great stay, would recommend

    Zac2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a retro caravan in a stunning location. It is rough around the edges, as you would expect for a caravan of that age, but it was comfortable, dry and got very cosy in the cold weather with the gas fire lit. We arrived late on Sunday night, a bit nervous about being so isolated in case of issues checking in but all was very straight forward and easy. The hosts had warmed the caravan for us and left us some delicious welsh cakes and Madeira and everything we could need. If you like being close to nature (we mostly camp) and want to immerse yourself in the beauty of the mountains this is a fabulous place offering unparalleled value for money. We spoke to our hosts a couple of times and found them very friendly, kind and accommodating. They were flexible about last minute alterations to our stay. Thank you, Lisa, Ken and Hefina.

Situated down a very quiet lane to the sea, this delightful, traditional fisherman's cottage lies in the heart of the charming LLwyngwril village, five minutes walk from the beach on Cardigan Bay, within the Snowdonia National Park. This is an ideal spot, whether you are looking for an active holiday or just need to relax.........or a bit of both!
Upstairs, there are 2 double bedrooms (one with a view of the sea) with wardrobe and drawer space and oil-filled electric panel heaters. There is also a separate toilet and washbasin. Downstairs, the living/dining room, with beamed ceiling and multi-fuel stove, leads into the modern and well equipped kitchen. There is also a wet room with shower and washbasin. Outside there is a relaxing seating area, which is is a real sun trap, where you can enjoy your meals al fresco.
The lovely LLwyngwril village has a pub, gallery/gift shop and village store/Post Office, all within 2 minutes walk of the cottage. The beach, a short walk along a picturesque path beside the river, is mainly pebbles with some areas of sand, as shown in the photos. The sandy beach at Fairbourne is only 3 miles away. The surrounding area is excellent for walking, cycling, climbing, golf, paddle-boarding and much more. There is a riding stables nearby for lessons or beach rides. Porpoises, dolphins and seals can be seen in the bay and there is a host of bird life. The towns of Barmouth, Tywyn (with cinema and leisure facilities), the lovely harbour village of Aberdovey (for golfing, boating and watersports), Machynlleth and Dolgellau are all nearby.
  • This is a lovely space! It is quite remote, so bring what you need to get yourself settled in. But the decor is lovely, the beds comfy, the kitchen small but well equipped, and the beach is only a short walk away. It isn't centrally heated, but once you're used to the wall heaters and log burner, it soon gets cosy. If you're soft like us, bring hot water bottles for a winter visit. And if that's not your cup of tea, then visit in the warmer months. Tony and Michelle are super hosts and couldn't have been more attentive and helpful, whilst leaving us to enjoy our holiday. And the area is stunning!

    Vicky2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice little cottage which is well laid out and well equipped. Heating is good and plenty of hot water, including the shower. Beds are comfortable and the wood burning stove is lovely in cold weather (January in our case!). The cottage is very central in the village yet quiet, and within a couple of minutes of the station and a couple more of the (stony) beach. All in all a lovely place to stay and highly recommended.

    Malcolm2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cottage!! Wonderful location and wonderful hosts. Great communication and a nice, clean, cozy cottage.

    Gwendolina2019-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Tony and Michele’s house is excellently located - with local walks to the nearby beach, local pub and nearby towns with plenty to see/ eat and do. The house itself was lovely and just as described, we would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to explore this part of Wales. We especially enjoyed a day out to the nearby Cregennan Lake and would thoroughly recommend for anyone wanting a walk in the beautiful landscape!

My place is close to the Coastal Path with great views of Cardigan Bay, with beaches close by and family-friendly activities in the local villages and towns. The caravan is set on our beautiful mid Wales coastline with amazing views near to Welsh ports - Aberdyfi, Tywyn, Fairbourne and Barmouth and the stunning Mawddach estuary. Red Kites to be seen quite regularly. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).
  • The caravan was lovely, we had such a great time! You have everything what you need, Gillian even left us a jug of milk and she put the heating on so it was nice and warm by the the time we arrived. The view from the caravan is amazing. You can find shops, take aways within a short drive and plenty of things to do. We had a good walk to the sea and we spent a lovely day in Barmouth. Thank you Gillian! We would love to return!

  • lovely little space. very tucked away and very peaceful just a short drive from the the town!

    Louise2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great view, good location for walking Cader Idris or Coastal path, very quiet apart from the farm dogs which did not bark at night, everything you needed to self cater, good restaurants in Tywyn and good Co-op and Spa. We enjoyed our stay. Gillian was helpful and always on hand for advice.

    Amanda2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The caravan is in the most beautiful and peaceful setting. Surrounded by beautiful hills, grazing sheep and a gap between the hills reveals what we all love to see...the sea! The caravan is fully equipped even down to the amount of hangers they provide. The outside area is lovely and I can imagine alfresco dining being quite enjoyable! I used the outside area for reading and my daughters for running around and exploring. Clear sky at night reveals the most amazing starry sky! Lush to sit out there and take it all in. The area is so peaceful! So quiet! This really has been the type of break I was hoping for! Tranquility!....despite being so ill! Boooo that wasn’t planned! A helpful tip!.... Reverse up! We turned around at the house that’s right next to the caravan every time we got back. A lot easier than reversing all the way down the very narrow road from the caravan onto the main road. Because I just wanted a chilled break I didn’t plan ahead and so we did find ourselves struggling to think of stuff to do some days as we have two children who get bad travel sickness so travelling more than an hour is a problem for us so we relied on local stuff to do which there doesn’t seem too much of within an hours travel. In the caravan is a little box containing lots of leaflets and info of stuff to do and places to go which we also added to and updated with new leaflets. Whilst here we visited Barmouth which was my fave day! It had everything there and we got a whole day out of it which is alway a bonus! Beach, rides, amusements, tea shops, pubs, quirky shops...loved it! We also visited Corris craft centre during our holiday which is in Machynlleth which had so much to do. Chocolate making, candle dipping and pottery painting. Reasonable prices too! But definitely book ahead! Gillian left a milk jug in the fridge, there was loo roll to start us off, hand wash, washing up liquid, sponge and cloth. There’s no freezer and the oven takes an age to cook! So microwave meals are best....just a heads up! There’s plenty of places to grab food not too far away. Very nice kebab shop and decent chippy in Tywyn. They also had takeaway Chinese and Indian which we didn’t try. They had a Co-operative, a post office, bakery etc. Tv wasn’t great so I recommend bringing some Dvds! The double bedroom is very large and would easily fit 1/2 travel cots! The wardrobes have loads of space inside to store your empty suitcases too! In fact both bedrooms had so much storage! Gillian is so so lovely! Communication was always good and she was very tentative when needed which I was very grateful for. We had a lovely holiday and would definitely recommend here if you’re looking for a chilled and peaceful break.

  • Lovely little cottage. Great base for exploring the southern part of Snowdonia. Clean and a well equipped kitchen, too.

  • A lovely retreat perfect either for a weekend spent indoors cuddling and reading (as we did due to the weather) or for exploring the area, which is stunning and presents lots of opportunities for walks and drives, a better view around every corner. Will definitely be returning in warmer weather to take more advantage of the surroundings, but the cottage as is was also a perfect little holiday.

  • Iain's place is exactly as posted. Really good value and top location in the center of Tywyn. Discounted breakfast at a really nice local cafe is a nice touch. The single room is small but has everything you need. Common bathrooms are clean.

  • This is a holiday letting, which means the hosts weren't there over the weekend. But it was quiet and clean, with a fully-functioning kitchen and a little place to eat. I loved it! Perfect for a writer. And my little Room 4 was my secret hideaway.

    Heather2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The place was incredibly clean and was one of the only places in Wales with good WiFi and service. Also the pillows were the softest I’ve ever slept on, I would definitely recommend staying there.

    Dylan2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The land must be full of places like this, places to crash for a few days and enjoy just being somewhere else. Centrally located it's easy to get to no matter how you travel. You can lodge in your own room but there is a fully equipped kitchen and two proper bathrooms, it's like being in a real 4 star hotel for the price of a youth hostel. Plenty of places to go but of it was raining you could happily stay here all day.

  • We had a lovely stay at the station bungalow with our two children. Perfect location to explore the mid Wales coastline by train. Pebbly beach, local shop, pub and playground all within a short walk from property. We hope to return soon.

  • Fantastic location, right on the platform at the station. Trains only passed every couple of hours so the noise didn't bother us. Got the train to Barmouth and back. Meant my husband could have a drink and not have to drive. Beautiful scenery in the surrounding area. Will definitely return again.

  • Larry and Margaret offer a warm and generous welcome to their lovely spacious accommodation in such a tasteful and quirky conversion of the former Llwyngwril railway station house. Quite a novelty to walk out the door and hail a passing train! A real delight, especially for train buffs.

  • My second visit to Larry and Margaret’s lovely station building. It’s perfect for exploring this beautiful Welsh coast with the railway literally on the doorstep and with regular services running both north and south. The accommodation is fabulous and the hosts couldn’t be more helpful or genial. Thoroughly recommended-(though not on the days I shall want to return!)

    Robert2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and clean and made very welcome by Larry and Margaret. Highly recommended to anyone wanting to enjoy the area.

  • Lovely and clean, great place to get away from all the hustle of live and relax in peace. Margaret was helpful with train times and both are a warm and friendly couple. 5 mins walk to beach and train stops right outside. Can be heard in house but after few hours it becomes normal. No train at night. Locals very friendly and majority we spoke to were from the midlands. Definitely plan a return journey. Look forward to seeing you both again.

  • The shepherd's hut is very basic as you'd expect, but was very warm and cosy when we stayed at the end of December. You need to take your own bedding and a kettle if you want a cuppa in the morning. You'll also need 20p for the showers, which were nice and hot. Quiet beach is great and only a few minutes walk from the site. Hut was very clean and the hosts welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area.

  • A nice clean chalet not far from Tywyn, for a couple or a small family. It has two bedrooms, a small double and a single with a bunk bed, as well as a bathroom with bath and shower facilities. The open plan lounge/kitchen has two settees which recline, a drop leaf coffee table, a TV and DVD player and a dining table and foldable chairs. We moved the sofa so we had more room to set up the table. There was a double seat with table outside to enjoy the view and as set in the hillside there was noone overlooking from the back. There were some DVDs and a few board games and books available. The chalet is probably not suitable for someone with mobility issues, as it is on a steep hill and there are steps, but this means there are spectacular views and it is a really picturesque setting, with plenty of trees. We would recommend visiting the Corris Craft Centre and the Osprey Centre, as well as the towns of Barmouth and Dolgellau. We took sleeping bags and pillows, but could have taken just sheets and duvet covers, as there were duvets and pillows there. It was a lovely and peaceful setting and we enjoyed our stay very much.

    Jane2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to visit Tywyn and Snowdonia! Nikki's chalet is a nice starting base to organize your stay in this gorgeous part of Wales. The chalet is equiped with everything you would need and Nikki is always available to answer your questions. We loved the area : family walks up and down Bird's Rock, Cadair Idriss, Mount Snowdon and other beautiful mountains. Tywyn beach is close and a delight to rest after a hike. The kids also loved the old mining train that runs from Tywyn to an old slate quarry. Nikki's chalet is a place to recommend.

The location was great, set in a small, friendly campsite with super-helpful hosts living on site and good facilities. The train station is nearby, as is a nice stony beach (great for dogs) and the Indian restaurant a short drive away is highly recommended (and offers takeout!) All in all we hugely enjoyed our stay!

  • A warm, cosy cabin ideally situated in the south of snowdonia. We stayed at Christmas to visit family in the area and it was perfect to escape from the chaos. Highly recommend and very reasonably priced for the quality of the accommodation. This is a little gem

  • Great lodge in a location that is ideal for the mountains of Snowdonia and the beaches of west Wales. The swimming pool on the site is clean, warm and ideal for young children. The lodge is clean, beautifully furnished and well laid out, there were 6 of us and we had plenty of space. Jackie is a helpful and friendly host. A brilliant find, we will certainly be going back again.

  • I beautiful lodge in an ideal location for Twywn. There's a heated pool on site, pool table and table tennis as well as a bar should you want to eat and drink within walking distance. It's worth bringing food cupboard essentials with you such as cooking oil, tea bags etc. We did thoroughly enjoy our stay, I raced the train on Saturday so didn't get as long to enjoy the stay as I might have otherwise. Jacky was very quick with her responses when communicating about the imminent stay.

    Rebecca2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was brilliant. Very clean, well equipped with everything you need for self catering holiday. The pool is open almost all day. Reception is only open until 1pm. The clubhouse has entertainment happening for the kids a couple of nights a week. Such a cute place to stay for the week and at a really reasonable price for August holidays! Highly recommend Jackie’s place to stay.

    Jo2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge is spacious, well resourced and set up well for young children. It is very close to the swimming pool, which was great in the hot weather. The view is fantastic.

Close to CAT is The Corris Craft Centre and King Arthurs Labyrinth, another must visit place.
  • Quaint little place with all the conveniences you'd need. Don't make the same mistake we did and assume there isn't a garden: the tiny door upstairs leads to the garden!! Great area for hikes, and close to Tywyn for some great food.

    Nathan2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • A great location for exploring the mid Welsh coast from, the cottage is simple but well appointed, and surprisingly cosy, the village is very quiet and peaceful. The stream opposite babbles gently with a constant relaxing sound track.

  • I think everyone one is different we where happy !

    Neil2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is amazing, as a family we had a lovely stay, we didn’t manage to hire a car which was a pity but the cab companies were brilliant and we manage to do quite a bit just by cab and bus. The cottage has everything you need but remember the coop is 10 mins away by car and there are no shops in the village, but very friendly neighbours and some of them sell eggs and another bread. If you want to switch off from big cities or have a place near to mountain and beach, this is absolutely amazing. I’m so glad we came across it, otherwise we might have never discover such a beautiful place! The cottage also has a hidden garden worth mentioning! Thank you for everything

Abergynolwyn is a small village, 3 miles from the spectacular Tal y Llyn & Cadair Idris, 10 minutes from Tywyn beach and 35 minutes from Barmouth. Our house is a traditional slate cottage which has been fully renovated for modern comfort while retaining original features. The front of the house has a lovely garden, perfect for sitting and listening to the babbling stream. There are stunning walks straight from the house, up to Nant Gwernol waterfalls or downriver through rolling hills.
There are 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, a downstairs bathroom with bath, a master bedroom ensuite with shower and a toilet & sink in the attic room
The village is super friendly, the pub is fantastic and the scenery very beautiful. It is a quiet village so you can relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. There is a cafe but no shop. There is a great children's play area and the fabulous steam railway is a 10 minute walk up the hill (also with a brilliant play area that is free to use). You can take the steam train all the way to the beach!
  • A very lovely cottage; beautifully decorated; well equipped; idyllic setting; splendid place to spend Christmas; all we could have hoped for.

  • It's always difficult travelling alone when you are used to being in a couple, but Kate's lovely house gave me a 'cwtch' as the Welsh say and I felt at home straight away. It's idyllic location with the sounds of the stream outside and the multitude of birdsong lulled me and I relaxed for the first time in ages. There is everything you need to be comfortable and I look forward to going there again.

    Rhiannon2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Kate was really quick to respond to any queries, check in and out was a breeze, and we had a fantastic stay. Would definitely recommend.

    Rhiannon2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • A fabulous cottage, with everything well thought out and every comfort for a home from home. Our children loved the cabin beds and were excited to go to bed every night, which was an added bonus. The kitchen had everything we needed, to make meals in the evening and a pub just a few hundred yards away, if you felt like dinner out. Kate and her husband Andy, were very helpful, providing all the information we needed to get to the cottage, get inside and what to do in the area and all of this, while Kate went in to early labour. I would definitely recommend Katie's beautiful cottage to everyone who would like a wonderful and relaxing holiday. Perfect.

    Elizabeth2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful valley between several great destinations. We were trail riding by motorcycle, and there was space to park up, and a mud room to keep the rest of the house clean. It was cosy, really comfortable, and we had everything we could want on arrival. Kate was super responsive to any queries, replying within a minute usually. Even if you've got a weak arm, the local pub is a stones throw away, and it's a fantastic pub where the locals will welcome you in. Top notch.

  • A lovely apartment in a great location. Bryony was an impeccable host. I came with my 3 children and she provided toys for the kids, high chair, cot and a seat for the baby to shower in. It was Halloween and she left treats for the kids including fresh fruit from her garden. She could not have done more to make us feel welcome. The apartment is light and airy and was spotless. Would definitely stay again.

  • Great little apartment that although part of the house has been managed so you retain your privacy. Decor was quirky but stylish and comfortable. All in all a great place to stay and if it’s available in the future we will rebook. Well recommended.

  • Probably our best AirBnB so far. The flat was very stylish, cozy and clean. Walking distance to the beautiful beach of the Cardigan Bay. Bryony is an amazing host, we came with a 4 months old baby and a dog. She prepared a cot for the baby and gave us a little inflatable swimming pool to bathe it. We came with a batch of used cotton nappies which needed to be washed and she actually did the washing for us. The kitchen is provisioned with things like tea, ground and instant coffee, oil and spices which might come handy. There was jam and butter waiting for us in the fridge on arrival, which we've done ample justice to. Bryony even brought us some very tasty fruit and veg from her garden. We had a really lovely time.

    Peter2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, bright airy apartment, a few minutes walk from the beach, and close to local amenities. Bryony went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed, and left lots of useful local info and tips. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area!

Accommodation for two adults in spacious modern bungalow. £50 per night, one or two people. No pets. Double bed. Wardrobe. Drawer. One chair. Bedside & ceiling lights. Central heating radiator. Exclusive use of shower in wet room with w.c., wash basin. Radiator. Second room: two easy chairs, two stools, drop-leaf table. Small table. Refrigerator. Cupboard storage for breakfast foods (provided by host), china, cutlery. TV set. Parking. Small garden encircles building.
Cilcain is a spacious modern bungalow in the heart of the town, but very quiet. Guests have their own parking space on the drive, next to the owner's own car. The garden is small, but surrounds all four sides of the bungalow. Cilcain is off a brief one-way system which starts at the top of the High Street, turn right into National Street where you make another right turn, drive passed a Plumbing Shop on the right, then turn left where there is a "P" for Parking sign, up a narrow lane called Ffordd Eglwys Bach. On the left are three identical bungalows. Cilcain is the middle one, No. 2. with a drive for two cars side by side.
Tywyn, on the Wales Coastal Path, is the base of the world-famous Tal-y-Llyn steam railway, which runs from Tywyn to Abergynolwyn. Special events, such as Father Christmas aboard. At the station is a restaurant, souvenir shop and small museum. You can watch the trains being prepared for their next journey. Many people annually "Race the Train" by running along the adjacent fields beside the track. That day Tywyn is busy, with visitors from several countries, in festive mood to watch the mass start and wait for the first one back - and the last. In Tywyn are very good restaurants and cafes, including Proper Gander and Salt Marsh Kitchen, both specialising in fresh fish dishes and shellfish, caught in either Aberdyfi or Tywyn. Proper Gander does popular £5 lunches. Other good eating places are Walkers, popular for large helpings of fish and chips, but with a long menu of other favourite dishes. They do take-aways. Dolly's Café offers a good range of sandwiches, soups, breakfasts, cakes and coffee. They have tables outside along the pavement and do take-aways. There are several others: a traditional fish and chip shop, Deja Vu, Pudding Parlour, Turkish Delight, Kings. The Whitehall pub opposite the Cinema, and Edwardian Slipway at the south end of the promenade. A very good chemist and a Health Food Shop called Flame Lily. Tywyn has a new Health Centre, with an A & E department and hospital beds. There are two great bookshops. "A Likely Story" sells new books, including those by local authors, maps and guide books, and a variety of other items including picnic rugs, stationery and requirements for artists, plus photocopying service. On the other side of the road is "Clock Tower Books", in the old Market Hall, offering a huge selection of second-hand books. The owner can get you any book you want by order, using the internet. He will tell the price very quickly. In the same area is the Parish Church of St Cadfan. Inside is a stone carved on which are the first known written words in Welsh. There has been a Church on the site for over 1,500 years, indeed the original church was the very first building in Tywyn. Further along is The Magic Lantern, Tywyn's renowned cinema, which has the best projection equipment, including 3D, that money can buy. In addition every month live plays, and music, are beamed in from the West End and Stratford-upon-Avon and occasionally from abroad, e.g. Berlin. There are also live musical events on the stage. Tywyn has a Leisure Centre with swimming pool and all the usual facilities. The Information Centre is at the excellent Library (a stone's throw from Cilcain bungalow). Easy walking distance from Cilcain is a good Promenade with plenty of free, no time limit, parking. You see the whole of Cardigan Bay, from Aberystwyth (University town, with the National Library of Wales) in the south, to the Lleyn Peninsula in the north, with Bardsey Island off its point. There is a new public house at the south end of the Promenade, serving good food. You may be lucky to see Dolphins. Enjoy the good beach and swimming. Tywyn is convenient for Fairbourne, further up the coast, with its popular very narrow gauge steam train, leading at its other terminus to a passenger ferry to Barmouth. Opposite its station is a superb Indian Restaurant called Indiana Cuisine. Great view across the estuary with its long main-line railway bridge from Tywyn, Birmingham and beyond, to Harlech and North Wales. A lovely run from Tywyn is to Cader Idris, our local mountain (2,927 ft) with great views, and Bird Rock, where Cormorants, the large seabirds, uniquely nest five miles inland. Aberdyfi (another town that is a 'must' to visit) with good shops, interesting activity on the local waters - sailing, surfing and yacht races organised by the Yacht Club. It is the base of the local Outward Bound Trust, who have their own boats. On the way back to Tywyn is a very good bowling green (tuition) and world-class golf course. There you can walk across the sand dunes to the beach. Beyond Cader Idris is the beautiful large Tal-y-Llyn Lake, stocked with brown trout. You can hire fishing boats from the hotel which owns it. Beyond that is another good town, Dolgellau, with lovely views on the car ride there and back. Very good restaurants and shops. In the opposite direction out of Tywyn, beyond Aberdyfi, is a popular historic town called Machynlleth with great shops, restaurants and a renowned Wednesday street market. Nearby is CAT, world-famous Centre for Alternative Technology and the Corris Craft Centre. I could write for hours, Tywyn being the centre for so much of interest, but will end here. You will find brochures in your bedroom.
  • John is a lovely host. He made us very welcome and gave us clear and precise instructions on getting there. He gave us lots of useful suggestions on what to see and do in town. We loved the local cinema , a very individual and special place.

  • If you manage to book this Airbnb you are one lucky person! John is the most amazing man! My husband and I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to stay with him! He is an amazing (almost 100 years old) man with a lifetime of interesting stories! I really enjoyed staying up in the evening chatting with him about his life.... His home is warm and comforting and provides everything one would need or want! On top of all this he has provided a plethora of wonderful information about the area and Wales that is the most informational and helpful I have found... He has pinpointed great walks, hikes and other things to do nearby and around Snowdonia and the Coast! He has very interesting historical information as well about the area (which being a lover of history I appreciated) ... This is my favorite Airbnb ever!

  • We loved our stay at the Bumblebee Lodge. It was so cozy and had the most wonderful view.  It was the perfect base for hiking in the National Park (we highly recommend the Precipice Walk) and always felt like coming home after being outdoors all day. The place is  decorated with lots of little bumblebee details and our 3 year old loved looking at the children's books before going to bed. The kitchen is well equipped. We'd definitely recommend staying here and might be back one day.

  • This is a perfect base for exploring this beautiful area. We spent time on the nearly deserted beach at Tywyn and walked miles through amazing scenery, surrounded by waterfalls. The chalet has amazing views from the lounge and outdoor seating, the mesmerising sound of the birds. Stunning!

Wonderful weekend in Wales !! The lodge is located in a holiday home park with stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys . You can even spot the beach . Tywyn town and beach is hardly a 8 min drive away, and Aberdovey beach about 15 mins . Can get glimpses of the Talyllyn steam train as it makes it's way through the green hills . Would highly recommend .

  • I booked with Dean and Sarah at the very last minute after getting my dates mixed up with another host. They managed to get everything sorted for me my partner and little girl with no worries. Upon arrival the place had everything we could have needed and more already there, even a box full of toys for the little one! Would definitely recommend and go back. Also the views from the chalet are incredible.

    Al2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning location with amazing views! Compact, clean and cute accommodation with lots of little extras you might need (cooking oil, stock cubes, squash, mayo/ ketchup, shampoo/conditioner, painkillers, nappies, DVDs, etc). Our kids especially enjoyed the toys, books and games they found at the chalet - kept them busy for hours! Loved the little clean pool! Superb base for exploring the area with lots of fun attractions nearby (beaches, King Arthur’s Labyrinth, waterfalls and lakes, etc.). Didn’t meet the hosts but was able to text them and got quick response to our queries re additional towels + bedding. Loved spotting the planes breaking off from the Mach Loop and running through the valley!!!

A cosy, rustic stone cottage with garden on the coast road. Original slate flagstone floors, beams and wood burning stove just a short walk from the beach in the Snowdonia National Park. 20 minute walk from Fairboune station.
Heulwen is my country home away from home. It is not a business but my home that I rent out when I am not there so it will be used and loved. I enjoy long walks with my dog Hector on the beach or the Mawddach Trail amongst others. There are many beautiful places nearby to explore. The main floor of this 200 year old cottage is open plan (one room, kitchen and living area) with a wood burner for cosy evenings . The floor is the original slate. There is no fitted kitchen but has antique cupboards for preparing food on and an electric cooker for cooking with an antique butlers sink for washing up. It has a couch and 2 chairs for seating and a TV and DVD player with plenty of DVD’s to watch. There is a small round table with two chairs for dining. I am an avid collector of anything vintage and a bit quirky. If you like this, the cottage has lots of interesting things to look at. There are two bedrooms upstairs and a small bathroom with bath and electric shower. The front bedroom has a single bed and clothes dresser for your belongings and overlooks the front garden and mountain . The back bedroom has a double bed only accessible from one side and overlooks the back garden and field with sheep. There is a dresser for your belongings. The pull out couch downstairs will sleep two as well. If you need bedding for it please ask.
On the main coast road but surprisingly quiet. When it is quiet you can hear the sea as reflected off the mountain across the road. I love my morning coffee outside in the front. Watching the peregrines and ravens on the mountain or Russel (the) Crow that my neighbour nursed back to health and released. He's the one with the crooked wing.
  • Really enjoyed our time here. Our dogs loved the place. Less than 10 min walk and you are on the beach it’s in a perfect location. We loved spending our evenings in front of a open fire toasting marshmallows watching a dvd, Angus has a great selection to choose from. It’s quaint and cosy. Really nice fish and chips near by and we easily parked near the cottage. If you love getting away with your furry friends and love seeing them run like crazy along the beach having fun then this is the place for you.

  • Lovely cosy house, very close to the beach and easy reach of some lovely walks in the mountains.

  • My mother and I had a lovely time at Angus’s place. Such a beautiful little cottage with lots of thoughtful touches, and complimentary tea, coffee, cereals and biscuits! There’s a perfect view of the mountains from the meadow of the back garden and the beach is only a short walk away. Fairbourne is very small but there’s a train that can take you to the busier town on the other side of the estuary if need be - perfect for a quiet weekend away. Absolutely no complaints, thanks so much for having us!

  • This was an amazing holiday and better than expected! Easy parking, close to the cottage and easy to find. The beach and local amenities are close for walking and there are an abundance of walking trails. You can walk (about two miles-ish) or drive to the ferry to Barmouth. £2 each way, takes dogs, be back to it by 4pm. Definitely recommend going on a few exploratory drives prepared for hiking. We were spontaneous as we had our toddler so only planned per his attitude! The dog loved it, the baby loved it and the adults had a nice break from reality. Thanks for everything Angus!

  • A perfect and cosy little cottage about a 10 minute walk from a beach. The house is really well furnished and felt very homely. It is super dog friendly and our dog had a wonderful time there. 30 minute walk to the blue lake which is certainly worth seeing. 90 minute walk to Barmouth over the train bridge which has a selection of pubs, shops and seaside attractions. We could definitely have spent more then 3 nights here and done more exploring.

  • This is a lovely, cosy little retreat, very close to the beach with the a few shops in the local village. You can easily hibernate away from everything with a glowing wood burner, or jump on the train to Barmouth (we walked to the ferry instead) for something a little livelier. We felt welcomed and at home, with everything we needed to relax for a few days - thanks again!

  • We had a wonderful stay at the start of the Easter holidays. Angus' description is spot on. The location is stone's throw from the beach and there are great walks to be had near by. The house was spotless and he added extra touches to make our Dog feel extra special and welcome. We plan to come back again soon! A perfect quiet calm getaway.

Carefully modernised, end of terrace, stone cottage in Friog, Snowdonia National Park, Mid Wales - ideally located for hill walkers and beach lovers. 3 minutes walk to safe sandy Fairbourne beach. Pet and family friendly accommodation. 10 minutes walk to Fairbourne train station. Short drive to Dolgellau, Towyn, Barmouth.
Cosy interior kitchen / lounge equipped with wood burner. Front door opens into comfortable reception room with TV. Storage heaters provide additional heating and bedrooms have additional oil heaters. Modern shower and bathroom upstairs. Master bedroom includes 6ft bed. 2nd bedroom includes double bed, plus bunk bed. Terraced back garden.
Friog is a small village near the town of Fairbourne. There is a beautiful wide bay and sandy swimming beach 3 minutes walk down a quiet lane, child and pet friendly. Great walks to the peninsular along the beach. Many walks in the surrounding hills, including the famous Cader Idris mountain. The beautiful Blue Lake is approximately 20 minutes walk from the cottage. The Fairbourne Light Railway runs to the point where you can take the ferry to Barmouth, the traditional seaside town, with a large amusement centre for children and restaurants. The cottage is set in the picturesque Snowdonia National Park. Many small towns are within easy reach, e.g. Towyn, Machynlleth, Aberdovey to the south and Barmouth, Harlech and Portmeirion to the north. There are copper mines, slate mines and the Blaenau Festiniog railway to visit as well. For a spectacular day out, visit Snowdon itself (41 miles), using the railway to climb to the top, or hike up Cader Idris (19 miles). Our favourite eateries are Penmaenuchaf Hall Hotel and Y Meirionnydd, all in Dolgellau and Bwyty Mawddach Restaurant in Llanelltyd. These are all a 15 minute drive away. Dolgellau also has a great coffee shop and internet cafe which we frequent regularly while visiting, T. H. Roberts. There is a good (licensed) Indian restaurant in Fairbourne, Indiana Cuisine, a 10 min walk. Nearest good pubs we recommend are George III, on the road to Dolgellau, approx 10 mins drive; Gwin Dylanwad Wine in Dolgellau; The Garthangharad Hotel is in the next village on from Friog, Llwyngwril, 10 mins drive from the cottage. Further away near Machynlleth we love Ynyshir Hall.
  • Mawddach cottage is a lovely, cosy little place on a quieter part of the Snowdonia coastline, within easy walking access of a rugged pebble beach and close to the long sandy beaches of Barmouth. It is well equipped, kitchen facilities are good, bathroom was very clean, with sink & shower, there are two spacious bedrooms, one with a huge comfy bed which is a real treat to sleep in. There are two areas downstairs to sit and relax in, one with a wood burner which made our chilly early spring evenings very cosy. If it’s quiet, cosy and quaint you’re after, with beautiful scenery and beaches, you will enjoy your stay here

  • Lovely cottage, well located within walking distance to the local pub and shop. The place is bigger than it looks on the pictures, in my view. It accommodated our group with 4 adults and 3 children well.

  • Beautiful cottage in an amazing location. This was our third stay here and we loved it just as much. We missed the Bara Brith though but everything else was lovely as ever.

  • Really charming cottage. Cosy downstairs and spacious, airy bedrooms. The bed was really comfy and we all slept amazingly. Worth a climb up the steps in the garden as the view from the top terrace is amazing. Loved our stay thank you.

  • Perfect cottage next to the beach with plenty of room and excellent layout.

  • Lovely traditional little Welsh cottage in a beautiful area, with amenities close by. Very clean and cosy. A perfect host who is easy to communicate with.

  • Lovely old cottage, great location! Spacious clean rooms, well equipped kitchen, easy check in. Would definitely recommend as Fairbourne is a great base to explore and the cottage is full of character and charm!

  • Great cottage, was perfect for a family holiday. Having the whole cottage fully furnished was really useful. The entire cottage was spotlessly clean when we arrived, although it did have a stale smell as the windows hadn’t been opened in a while. The only downfall of the property was the lack of central heating and being unable to turn on the heaters when we arrived as the cottage was very cold for the 1year old we had travelling with us. Apart from that, the cottage was absolutely perfect with access to the beach in less than 5 minutes walking was ideal.
