Places to stay in Llandysul
Set in the Beautiful Welsh Country- side 20 mins from the Ceredigion Coast.Great for lovely walks, fishing, horseriding, canoeing and cycling. Or chill and relax in front of a log fire in a peaceful quiet retreat off the beaten track perfect for two ☺
Very quiet location off the main road set up a small track . Beautiful scenery and views of Llanllwni mountain in the distance. A perfect retreat to avoid the crowds and destress from modern day life and re-energise the batteries. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen, spacious bedroom, and cosy relaxing open plan living space with a logburner. Linen and towels are provided too. There is a sunny decking area, perfect for outdoor dining, barbecuing, and chilling with a glass of vino. Later enjoy star gazing or watching the red kites fly overhead, as we are lucky enough to have fab star lit skies
Brynifor is set alongside a bridal path and very close to the River Teifi. It is also within walking distance to the local village community run shop in Capel Dewi if you need to pick up a few supplies, where there is a working Woolen Mill and pretty church. Our location is an ideal base for exploring south, west and mid Wales. Brynifor is within half an hour's drive from the Cardigan Bay coastline with its sandy beaches and spectacular scenery and is also one of the best places in the UK to see dolphins, seals and porpoises. Boat trips are available from Newquay to get an even closer look! Besides the coastline there are numerous things to do. You can canoe along the Teifi River through Cilgerran Gorge – the home of otters and kingfishers. Or visit an Iron Age settlement (featured on a BBC Production) Castell Henllys. There’s horse riding on Llanllwni mountain, fishing, Oakwood theme park, Go Karts, Folly Farm, a butterfly farm, steam railways, Castles and Museums – the list is endless! The National Woollen Museum and the National Botanical garden are not far. The cottage has lots and lots of tourist attraction leaflets and maps of the surrounding area to help you choose your days out. And for anyone just wanting some quiet relaxing time there are starry night skies, Cludeo, jigsaws, and quite a few books.

  • Perfect. We loved our stay. The cottage was perfect for the two of us. Very cosy, clean and toasty warm with the wood burner. We loved it and will definitely visit again. Highly recommend.

  • Such a cosy, quiet, peaceful place for a relaxing retreat. We spent a lovely couple of days exploring the coasts and forests by day, and snuggling up by the log fire in the evenings. Jackie and Dave were very attentive hosts, offering plenty of helpful tips and answering our questions quickly and efficiently. We spent a very enjoyable afternoon with Jackie in her pottery studio learning to throw, which was a fantastic bonus.

  • A cute little annex/flat with everything you need for a retreat away. Biddy's artwork gives the place a unique feel and a lot of thought has gone into the set up. You have your own little garden area in which Biddy allowed me to have a fire, even kindly providing me with the firepit! Shops are short walk away if supplies are needed, amazing walks on your doorstep (just walk to the top of the hill and down a track on the left to get to the river!). I didn't try out the canoeing but definitely will next time! A lovely stay and great value

A double room in my comfortable, arty home. Cosy, light, cheerful and homely. House has views over the Teifi valley; close to Canoe club & all amenities; twenty-five minute drive to Heritage coast beaches; great for walkers, cyclists, & nature lovers. Free tea and coffee. Breakfast on request for small additional fee. Other single/double rooms also available on request for an extra fee. Shared kitchen, bathroom and sitting room with log fire. Lovely garden with sun deck and fire-pit. Free WiFi.
Mine is an interesting house which was originally a small school founded and run by Thomas's great uncle, William Marles. The house is large and airy, with newly decorated sitting room. Bay windows look out, over the garden, across the valley to the river Teifi, though you would never guess this from the street. The kitchen is large and has all amenities. The garden is private, sunny and bursting with life. There is a fire-pit for night time stargazing on the deck.
Llandysul is traditional small Welsh town, with a selection of shops, pubs, cafes and takeaways. It is well placed as a base for fabulous local walks and for exploring the beautiful Teifi Valley and the Heritage Coast with its many excellent beaches. As well as exciting activities such as canoeing (Llandysul Paddlers) and coasteering, there is plenty of rolling countryside to discover on foot or on wheels. There is a cycle network easily accessed from Llandysul and the Brechfa forest cycle trail is not far away. There is a Leisure centre with gym and sports hall and swimming pool just a short walk away.
  • Lovely, warm and generous people; a cosy, arty house and a really comfy bed made Biddy's place a wonderfully welcoming and peaceful base for exploring the area. Wholeheartedly recommended. Thank you Biddy :-)

Large flat with carpark located at the centre of local amenities.
Llandysul is a peaceful town but retains all of the local services and shopping which most of rural Wales has lost. Ceredigion enjoys the lowest crime rates in the UK and the Welsh language continues to be spoken by most the population.
  • Lovely place, peaceful and cozy. Just what we was looking for with a lovely host.

  • Great place to stay for our work trip. Communication was top notch. Excellent value for money. Rural location.

  • Very spacious flat in a good location. We asked with very short notice to stay here and were greeted shortly after and shown aroung the flat :) Very friendly host with local tips. Would highly recommend, thanks again for the stay!

    Rebecca2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is very spacious. We paid £123 for two nights and wasn’t quite the standard that we have been used to from air bnb. I got the feeling that it was work in progress with no frills. The single bed is a camp bed. There wasn’t a smoke detector and exit from the 2nd floor would be a challenge in the event of a fire. The property details do state no heating and there isn’t ! A a fan above the fire in the longe doesn’t give enough heat to warm the open plan lounge. Upstairs felt damp and was a bit cold. I’m sure that some of my comments will be rectified in which case :- Would we stay there again - yes but not in colder months

  • A lovely holiday cottage to stay in, especially if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

    Natasha2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderfully comfortable stay at the spacious Butlers cottage. Very clean and modern, equipped with everything you could possibly need. We were given a fabulous welcome pack on arrival which was such a lovely touch. The location was amazing and very central for visiting nearby attractions. The hot tub was a luxury that we all enjoyed no matter what the weather, Andy maintained it every day to keep it in tip top condition. Kate was fabulous, very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, she was on hand at the drop of a hat. Would definitely recommend a visit to this beautiful country cottage. Thanks Kate and Andy! Ceri and Adrian.

  • Kate is a fantastic host! Very welcoming on arrival! Kate provides fantastic amenities and not to mention the hot tub! We made great use of it during our stay! Defiantly would recommend to friends and family!

  • This is a great spot in the countryside with plenty of beautiful places to visit not too far away. The cottage is beautifully set up with everything you need and is very clean and stylish. The hot tub was wonderful, especially as its elevated and you can see out over the fields of horses with a glass of bubbly in your hand. Wonderful stay with a warm welcome from Kate. Would definitely stay here again!

    Amy2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing home and outstanding hospitality. Our stay couldn’t of been any more perfect, Kate had truly thought of everything and was always on hand for any questions we had. I would highly recommend visiting neighbouring villages such as Newquay and Aberaron (both beautiful) and also really enjoyed the Chinese takeaway from ‘Shamai’.

This spacious room with twin beds and shared facilities is a great base for exploring west Wales, from Carmarthen, down the Teifi Valley as far as the Ceredigion coast. Watch red kites soaring overhead, try your hand at kayaking or enjoy the walks.
The space is a spare bedroom in my home. It has two fairly new single beds, a wardrobe and a couple of tallboys so plenty of space. The street is a wide cul-de-sac with no problem for parking.
The house is on a hill overlooking the village of Llandysul which sits on the bank of the Teifi River. Red kites soar overhead as you walk down to the main street, where shopping is not extensive but provides the basics. There is also a great Chinese restaurant/takeaway, an Indian takeaway and a very popular Italian café.
  • Lovely home and friendly chat.

Enjoyed my stay! Thanks Dee.

  • Fantastic welcome from Dee - always very kind, helpful and considerate and very efficient in responding to messages and providing any kind of information for travel and stay. The area is very quiet and quiet and still easy to reach by car and by bus. The house is very comfortable, lovingly furnished and impeccably clean. I had a great time and I will definitely be back! Additional note: I do not know how many, among the Italians who will read this review, study the Welsh language like me; just in case, know that you can practice conversation with her, who is very patient and used to helping students! Diolch yn fawr iawn, Dee!

  • A beautiful oasis of tranquility not to be missed if you're looking for a peaceful get-away in a natural setting. Andy met us with a lovely introduction. The bungalow was charming with some really pretty touches. The lake, river and woods were just a minutes away. It was so quiet and relaxing! You can light open fires in the small seating area or by the lake. Bring supplies as the nearest shop isn't great. There's a fantastic organic farm shop about 30 minutes away in Lampeter, which also has an award winning chipper. The beach was thirty minutes away too but we just drove past as it was packed on the bank holiday weekend. We would definitely come back in Autumn and Winter!

    Claire2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location in the depths of Wales. We received a warm welcome from Eeva and met by a friendly cat who seemed to want to share the cottage with us when we first arrived. We both thoroughly enjoyed watching the birds and especially the woodpecker feasting on the nuts from the window overlooking the valley. We look forward to coming to stay again.

  • Had a wonderful stay at wrens nest, if your looking for tranquility this is the place. Great surroundings, and country walks near by. Cosy cottage with all your needs. Bwthyn Tegfan sits in a small sleepy Welsh village in the Teifi Valley. The romantic restored semi detached cosy cottage is about 200 years old, built as an estate worker's cottage, retaining much of the original features. The cottage is in a quiet location but within a mile or so of a local pub, post office and village store. Just a short drive to the Ceredigion Coastal Path and Bay to the north, and Preseli Mountains to the west, where you will find plenty of walking and wildlife.
The cosy cottage comfortably sleeps three guests, one double and one single, in two bedrooms. Also welcome one small dog (no extra charge). Night storage heating in all rooms, with character original stone walls and open beams. There is a cosy sofa and also a wood burner in the living room, with TV/DVD. A basket of logs and a bucket of coal is provided. The bathroom has a corner bath with electric shower over, loo, hand basin and shaver point. Towels are provided The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and automatic washing machine. Tea towels are provided. There is a separate dining room and from here stairs to the first floor, which opens to the single bedroom area. The single bedroom is galleried (stair gate provided for younger visitors). A door leads to the double bedroom. Both bedrooms have open beams with restricted headroom. Bed linen is provided. The cottage is accessed by a narrow lane, private off road parking and a woodland path leads to the front door. There is approximately half an acre of gardens on different levels. There is a seating area with table and chairs, which overlooks a stream, also further seating and patio area. I have a non smoking policy, however you are welcome to smoke outside the cottage. Within the cottage there are a number of steps on the first floor and then there are about six woodland steps from the parking area to the front door, with a slightly uneven slate path, also steps to the different garden levels. There is plenty to do in the Teifi Valley and Cardigan Bay area, and great places to eat out. Dolphins and seals can be seen from the coastal path. Buzzards and red kites can be seen and heard from the cottage in the surrounding woodland.

It was easy to find with Carole's clear directions and a map, no problems getting in and settling in. Communication with Carole was excellent and prompt, she gave us great tips on walks etc, and the cottage had everything we needed for a truly relaxing week. • This is such a beautiful spot and caravan. We loved every minute of being here, and Wendy and James were the most wonderful hosts. They were so helpful and friendly, and my daughter loved her time helping with the animals. Can't thank you both enough for a wonderful few days. Felt extremely lucky to stay somewhere so lovely.

  • Fantastic accommodation, even better hosts. Can't thank them enough for our very short stay with them

  • Highly recommended. From start to finish Wendy was spot on. She is so accommodating and friendly. I cannot fault her. It is such a beautiful place and for those who loves animals, it is the place to be. We would definitely book a trip to theirs again😀

    Ravi2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic place to stay, the kids loved it so much having marshmallows on the fire in the evening and seeing the friendly animals. Wendy and James are perfect hosts very helpful with local knolage and everything is clean and tidy and very well organised. We went to lots of lovely beaches even saw a seal, we visited a gold mine and took a lovely ride on a mountain steam railway. There is loads to do just not enough time. We will defiantly hope to visit again.

    Simon2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to stay. I would highly recommend and we may well return. The caravan has everything you need and is ideal for a little family get away. My daughter loved feeding the animals and Wendy was so kind to spend time with her telling her all about the animals, answering all of her questions and creating wool art with her. Wendy and James were so kind and attentive. The location is stunning and is perfect for travelling around the local area. If you get the chance to go here then you must! Thank you Wendy and James.

    Chris2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Good base location to visit the area, since it is located in the middle. Very quiet area, ideal to relax. Wendy and James are excellent hosts. They are always available. Wendy has a lot of patience with children. It makes them participate both in caring for animals and in other activities. Very well equipped.

    Ana Isabel2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful week spent at the cabin which has stunning views over the valley. We loved watching the weather - good and bad! - roll in over the trees & valley. It was the perfect base to explore the beautiful local area and nearby coastline. There’s many places to visit nearby and keep occupied, but it’s also the perfect place to chill out and feel peaceful and close to nature. We loved being near to the animals - pigs and sheep - and helping out at feeding time. Wendy and James are the perfect hosts, we had everything we needed, and they are on hand should you need anything extra or local tips. We are a family of 3 and found the cabin to be perfectly equipped for our needs and spotlessly clean. A peaceful and tranquil place that we hope to visit again one day. Thank you Wendy & James!

  • Meet the extra mile hosts! I think I run out of "feedback stars". They are the most welcome and generous hosts I have never met. Nothing is too much for them, they will look into all your needs to make sure you have a extraordinary and enjoyable stay at their place. This also included travelling with my house cat and making sure my cat was also comfortable and happy. Their place is allocated in a very beautiful natural setting yet, not too far from other towns to do any shopping or enjoy a coffe. It is a good place for exploring the West of Wales or choosing to stay and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of their location. Their property is very special shared with other beautiful and friendly 3 cats and few gentle and loving chickens. The house is lovely, modern and very tasfully decorated. It is also kept very tidy and clean with an eco friendly mind set. As well as your room, you have the sun room with the lovely views to their garden and amusing chickens if you feel you would like to relax having a cuppa by yourself. The Blue Room with beautiful views indeed, offered more that what I expected. Very spacious and very beautifully decorated. It has a TV and the bed is super comfortable

It's set on a farm with walks on the doorstep or have a relaxing evening in front of the log burner. There is so much to see in this area and Mark, who is a great and welcoming host, is on hand for advice.

  • I was very pleasantly surprised to have my expectations to the cottage exceeded. The cottage and location are everything that you could ask for when looking for a rural retreat and Mark has such fantastic attention to detail to ensure the stay is as comfortable as possible. The warm welcome continued throughout the stay and my dogs and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Standing Stone. Many thanks for the lovely cake and fresh eggs and for being a truly amazing host.

    Emma2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding cottage, with every mod con, for much less than you would expect to pay. Friendly host, nothing is too much trouble, and he cooks! The farm is so peaceful, with its own woodland walk, including sun drenched benches by the pond. Plenty to do in the surrounding area, or spend time in the cottage, in front of the roaring log stove, or out in the private cottage garden.

    Annabel2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay at standing stone cottage. It's in a lovely setting. A lot of effort has been put into making the cottage and the surrounding farm a great place to stay. Lovely to receive a yummy cake on arrival and lucky to get some fresh eggs from the chickens. Our 2 Yr old loved the animals. The farm is very rural, be prepared for driving up and down lots of hills, it's a great location to visit the surrounding countryside and beautiful coast line. Keep doing what you do I wouldn't change a thing!! Thankyou again for a great week.

    Matthew2019-09-06T00:00:00Z

The cottage itself has everything you need and is a real home away from home. The farm is stunning to walk/cycle around even for children. Marks hospitality is second to none from check in to check out and I agree with everyone else....the cake mmmm mmmm Thank you Mark for a fantastic time.

The bedroom is light with bright modern decor, fully carpeted, heated. Original wooden beams, overlooking the garden The bathroom has original wooden sloped ceiling and floorboards, quirky and shabby chic. The rooms are upstairs , accessed through the main house, with a lockable entrance , separate fridge and crockery. You have the use of a well equipped kitchen . We provide a light breakfast of cereals and toast. There is space to place a travel cot We charge an additional £5 for dogs
We have dogs and cats but welcome well behaved dogs to stay. We do make an additional charge for dogs , £5 per visit, Ours is an old mill house steeped in history, we have our own fields where dogs can be let off the lead to run around and we are also located on a network of local paths mostly linked to our industrial past of a thriving woollen industry. The village is approx 1 mile away and has a shop and 2 pubs. There is a fish and chip shop in the village ( closed on Mondays) The fabulous, unspoilt small market town of Newcastle Emlyn is 4 miles and the nearest beaches are approx 12 miles. There are plenty of places to eat in Newcastle Emlyn We provide tea / coffee and a light breakfast.
We live in a beautiful location, surrounded by our own fields, rural but still close to a village and market town. It is a very peaceful location , if you want good walking then this abounds and of course it is only 12 miles to the coast where there is a well signed coastal path. Rain or shine it is a lovely place to stay
  • Caroline was a great host with excellent communication and directions. The room and private bathroom were big and had everything you needed. The extras like the fridge, tea/coffee and selection of breakfast cereals, bread etc was fantastic and the crumpets went down a treat. Would stay again if we were in the area.

Location was absolutely perfect for me, and if you're looking for a relaxing 'get away from it all' break I think you'll be hard pressed to find anywhere better. Caroline and Kit are the perfect hosts, relaxed and friendly. All in all, a perfect few days!

Fully furnished with double bed, bedside table, wood burning stove and outdoor bush craft kitchen the little Yurt is a luxurious camping experience. Included is access to the the delightfully hand crafted compost loo and gas fuelled hot shower which are within convenient walking distance.
Made locally, all the wood used to construct The Little Yurt comes from the ten and a half acres of meadows and woodland in which it is situated. Fitted with a hard wood locking door the Little Yurt is secure and private for the length of your stay. Positioned in its own private meadow the Little Yurt's south facing entrance overlooks its very own fire pit and the beauty of the West Wales countryside.
As you drop down into the valley the rural location is seen in all it's glory with narrow lanes, flower filled hedgerows in Spring, ancient oak trees and few other homes. Within a short drive away there is opportunity to shop, eat and take in an eclectic mix of gigs which play throughout the year; The Small World Theatre in Cardigan is a great intimate venue hosting bands from around the world. It's also worth keeping an eye out for local gigs taking place at pubs and bars. You have the choice of immersing yourself in total peace and tranquility or diping into local small town life with a vibrant friendly welcome as well as enjoying days at the beach in sandy coves where you may spot dolphins or seals.
  • This is a little piece of paradise and a special place for our family. This was the second time visiting and this time we brought our 4 month old baby (it’s not advertised for infants -we’re just an adventurous family). We made some fantastic forever memories! Jake is the perfect host and the yurt is as gorgeous as we remembered. So much privacy and space with a warm welcome. Thanks again and see you next year!

    Joanna2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying in the yurt, it was our idea of heaven! We booked last minute and Jake was very flexible with our constantly changing arrival time! The yurt is beautiful and light and the outdoor kitchen was so nice to use. The whole place feels calm and the woodland area is beautiful. An amazing stay, thank you very much!

  • A very special place and experience.

    Jordi2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Yurt is an incredibly charming, cozy little space in a beautiful secluded wooded valley. No other people or phone signal means this is the perfect place if you want to just get away and enjoy some peace and quiet. We enjoyed sitting around the campfire at night, looking at the stars (dark sky area!), or taking trips to the coast during the day to see the marine wildlife and having a swim. The hosts (and their dog) were lovely as well. Highly recommended!

  • A very walk welcome. Beautiful setting. Private and peaceful.

    Justine2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tranquil, peaceful spot. The only sound we could hear for hours was the sound of nature. Great place to switch off from the world and unwind.

    Julie2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a restful and peaceful stay here. The yurt is warm and has a really comfortable bed. The outdoor kitchen and fire pit is great for cooking and we enjoyed breakfast, dinner and preparing our lunch here. We sat under the kitchen shelter on the camping chairs to have our breakfast the one morning it rained. The yurt is in a meadow with trees and wild flowers. It's quiet and feels very private. You can explore and walk around which is lovely. In a good location we found it easy to explore the wider area, visiting beaches. Would love to come bacl again!

The cottage is modest with a wood burner making it cozy.As well as a double bed, there is a sofa bed, which is 4ft. Gwyddgrug is centrally situated in Wales and is very accessible to all of the country. We have famous cycle trails close by, Brechfa Forest. There is Kayaking in Llandysul and beautiful beaches everywhere. Upon request stabling for up to 2 horses. This is extra. If needed I can supply food for you to prepare for your breakfast at a little extra. Let me know. Thank you, Naomi.
Gwyddgrug is a very small farming village set in rolling hills. Although near the main road still has a peaceful ambience about it. However the road leads easily to the south, north or if you want to stay in the middle, there is plenty to keep you occupied or relax.
  • A fabulous place to stay, all you can possibly need for a really chilled out stay

    Julie2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely host indeed! Naomi bent over backwards to ensure my stay was a great one, which indeed it was. Perfectly positioned too to explore & head off the beaten track, so many stunning gems close by. A very special place & a perfect host!

  • The cottage was perfect, Naomi gave directions straight to the door and it was lovely to be surrounded by the small holding she has there. The cottage was immaculate with everything that was needed and it was great to be able to watch tv in bed, the place was very cosy and homely. Only 30 minutes by car to New Quay and local shops close. Will be coming back soon.

  • Naomi's place was an absolute pleasure to stay, much better than in the pictures, with a welcoming touch. Is a cozy and very comfortable home. She embraced us with a warmth and sincere that few people has, even went extra mile and provide a travel cot for our little one. Made out trip and experience even more special.

A quiet rural retreat. This charming 200 year old cottage is surrounded by fields full of wildlife and is an idyllic get away for couples.
This delightful Grade II listed cottage was once the gardener's cottage on a wealthy 19th century landowner's estate and is built onto the side of a walled garden. The cottage has been sympathetically renovated with ecology in mind. Solar PV panels help with the supply of electricity and a log boiler, using our own wood, together with solar thermal panels supplying hot water and heating to keep the cottage cosy and warm. There's also a log burner to snuggle up in front of when the nights are cool. Outside there is a patio with spacious private garden opening onto our fields with the river and woodland beyond. The farm has 43 acres of grazing for sheep and cattle, including an area of bluebell woods and a ¾ acre lake where you can watch a variety of wildlife including dragon flies, wild ducks and geese etc. There is a private parking area at the front of the cottage.
The cottage is about 1 mile outside the little village of Capel Dewi, with its own community shop and working woollen mill and is within easy access of the local market towns of Llandysul, Lampeter and Newcastle Emlyn. It is an area where Welsh is the first language of many local people. It is an ideal place for touring with many interesting places to visit, castles, walking, bird watching, fishing etc. and within easy reach of the beautiful beeches and coastline. There are many Historic Gardens of Wales to visit in the area plus the National Botanic Garden of Wales just outside Carmarthen.
  • We had a fantastic time in the cottage! I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful location in Wales, with access to great activities and locations nearby. Gill and Richard were very welcoming, and very responsive, sorting out a minor issue we encountered incredibly rapidly. The cottage is beautiful - with amazing views over fields full of sheep - as well as very peaceful and quiet. As city dwellers, we’ve become used to a constant background noise of traffic and the ever present light pollution - the lack of these at the cottage was amazing! Inside the cottage, everything was very comfortable and we weren’t lacking anything. The well equipped kitchen was great for us to cook lots of our own meals, and the smart TV meant we could relax and watch some films to wind down. We managed to fit lots into our time there thanks to the cottage being well situated between the Pembrokeshire coast and the Brecon Beacons. We did some beautiful walks in both areas, as well as some more local walking. We also found a place nearby (called Saddle Tramps) to do some horse riding, in addition to exploring some of the local towns and villages. Overall, a fantastic stay, and I would highly recommend!

  • Our stay in this beautiful cottage was amazing. We were looking for a peaceful and quiet place in beautiful surroundings and we got all of that. There is a huge area of private grounds around the cottage and we truly enjoyed our walks along the stream and through the fields. The cottage itself is really well equipped, nicely decorated and very clean. It has been our first visit to Wales and Gill and Richard made it a memorable one. They are great hosts!

    Karolina2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Garden Cottage. Gill was there to greet us and was friendly and helpful. Tea and coffee and milk and welshcakes were a welcome touch when we arrived. The cottage is very secluded and a lovely place to relax and be peaceful. There are great local walks and the cottage is very near beautiful coastal New Quay and Cenarth Falls and many other local attractions. The cottage was immaculately clean and supplies everything you need for a great home from home stay! Thank you.

  • This cottage is an amazing space. It’s perfect for a relaxing time in Wales and a great place to come home to after a day out touring. It’s a dog friendly place and the location is perfect for walkers.

  • Gill and Richard are lovely hosts. When we first arrived Gill took us through everything and there were notes and guides dotted about so we knew places to eat etc. We were left Welsh cakes, milk and tea and coffee which were a nice touch :) The cottage itself is absolutely stunning and so peaceful, we went for a walk and could not stop laughing at getting stuck in the woods while the sheep watched :) Such a beautiful place to have a rest away from all the hustle and bustle and we would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of booking. Thank you for a making us feel so welcome :) x

  • I would recommend Gill's place to anyone wanting some peace and relaxation in the beautiful Welsh countryside. It was so lovely to sit outside the cottage with its views across the fields to the woods and the sound of the river in the distance, that it was hard to drag ourselves away to go sight-seeing! The cottage had everything we needed, it was clean, well furnished, nice hot shower, well equipped kitchen etc and Gill was very friendly and welcoming.

  • I had a lovely week in this gorgeous little cottage. I spent time in the garden basking in the sunshine and got to explore the local area too. Kids were extra pleased to have ‘you tube’ on the tv too, much to my dismay (but gave me 5 minutes of breathing space whilst getting ready).

  • Mark provided a very warm welcome with a home made Victoria sponge which was amazing. A very cosy well maintained to a very high standard, Spotlessly clean cottage on a farm. Very well equipped throughout in the kitchen, bathroom added shower gel, towels etc. Great added extras of games, dvd's, cds, books and very informative information about the local area. A map was provided of a walk around the farm which was very pleasant with the dog and benches dotted around so we could sit and chat enjoying the time out even more. Mark was very helpful when questions asked and very quick communications and a pleasure to meet and chat too. A definite must stay and we will definitely look to rebook. Thank you mark

  • A lovely cosy cottage in beautiful surroundings. An ideal getaway retreat. Mark is an excellent host exemplified by the little 'extras' - homemade cake and jam and freshly laid eggs from the farm. Highly recommended.

  • Everything about the cottage was excellent, very high standard and in a wonderful setting, fantastic location, very peaceful and quiet, Mark was a wonderful host very friendly and generously baked us a lovely cake! We'll definitely be back!

    Sharron2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely cottage for 2 (+ 4 legged friend if you have one). It had everything we needed for the week. The surroundings are very peaceful. There were 3 people + 2 dogs staying in the other cottage. We didn't hear them at all even though they mentioned one of their dogs barked during the night. The very narrow country lanes are not for the faint hearted but it certainly means you're out of the way! We explored the area, and there were plenty of leaflets and maps in the cottage for that. The place was very clean and warm, the bed very comfortable. As well as the cake and the eggs as mentioned by other people, we also got some homemade jam. Yum. Of you're planning on catching up with your favourite programme, I'm afraid this isn't currently possible due to lack of fast WiFi (owing to very rural location), but Mark is on the case! We thoroughly enjoyed or stay, and so did our dog.

    Lucie2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • A superb little cottage, spotless and clean, peaceful location. Mark is a great host, very welcoming. Nice touches for dog owners such as towels for apres muddy walks. The homemade Victoria sponge cake was delicious, and fresh eggs from the farm. Would recommend highly and look forward to another stay🙂

  • This place is is so idyllic! if I could click my heels like Dorothy, I'd be back in flash! It really did feel like being at home. I didn't leave the cottage until noon on the first day, sat reading and pottering in the garden. I was in much need of some downtime and rest. The kitchen had everything you need, the bed was sublime and the skylights a beautiful touch of the sun streaming through in the morning. Fresh eggs and home baked cake! stop reading this and just book it!.......

  • A wonderful treat with fantastic hosts. Fab for the children, no frills but rustic abd not needed, it's what growing up should be about. Great area and coastline and not too far to drive to beaches. Cows and dogs were adored by all and really relaxed.

  • The kids had such an awesome time at the cow shed. Stuart was brilliant with them, letting them feed the calf & taking them around the farm teaching them about the animals. The accommodation is quirky & fun, the kids loved all sleeping up in the hay lift together. Make sure you take plenty of warm dry clothes and treat it as an adventure & you’ll have a great time! The location is fantastic & Glynis was brill at giving us advice on where to go. Llangrannog was a highlight for us - incredible cliff top walks, dolphin watching, body boarding & great ice cream, scones & ale. Such a fab week!

  • Quirky, slightly off the beaten-track, and most definitely unusual! The Cow Shed provides a perfect base for staying whilst exploring the local area (or in my case attending work activities). Loved the unusual bathrooms...but particularly enjoyed my husband’s Girly scream at the cold water from the shower! The walk down to the stream needs solid footwear but is recommended. The children were in hysterics as the cows were mooing in ‘welsh’ (don’t ask!). Admittedly not somewhere I’d fancy staying in the colder months, and after the family got wet on the second day their clothes were still damp by day 4 so take plenty of dry clothes as we all know Wales is wet and rainy! The dogs are friendly enough, perhaps a little too friendly and overwhelming for younger children. And watch your head when up in the loft or going up the stairs.

Set in our own grounds down a short track, ours is a quiet country location. Set in the middle of the village of Drefach Felindre, within walking distance of local shop, pubs, and church. Ample on site parking, and numerous country walks. If you want a quiet, relaxing break then this is the place for you. Were also handily just next door if you have any problems. Within easy reach of the towns of Carmarthen, Newcastle Emlyn, Cardigan, New Quay, Aberaeron and Aberystwyth (The seas never far away)
Our property was once a working dairy farm, and we still retain 27 acres of land. We have horses on the land at the moment, as well as our own hens (handy for that boiled egg in the morning). We have a neighbouring farm, but our area is generally very quiet and relaxing. There is also an outside seating area so you can enjoy a relax or a glass of wine of an evening. Our area also has very little in the way of light pollution so on a clear night is excellent for star gazers.

When we decided to open Blodeuen as a holiday home, we made careful consideration to what we would like, and came up with an airy open-ness that maximises light and colour, with cosy comfort to relax in. We ourselves are very creative, and have imbued the home with colour that is creatively inspiring and stimulating whilst deeply restful to combat the mundane stresses of ordinary life. If you just want an energising rural Welsh holiday, or a creative or meditational retreat, you will love its simplicity. This home comprises; Walk in shower / wet room. • Such a lovely stay, and really was so convenient and easy to find. A great location for us - as we have a lot of family dotted around in the neighbouring towns so felt very much a home from home. Very cosy and self - contained, a lovely space, very relaxing. Look forward to staying again sometime in the not too distant future, I’m sure. Best wishes, Elinor

  • A nice spacious bungalow with 3 bedrooms, can sleep 6 easily. The bungalow has all the amenities including bed linen, towels and beach towels. The location is in a nice picturesque village but still close to the local attractions. There was a welcome fruit basket with bread and milk which was very thoughtful of Sarah & Chris and they always responded promptly to any queries Would love to visit again Thanks

  • What a lovely space - just right for our family weekend away with two small children. A high chair was provided, as well as a child’s toilet seat, and plenty of games. Also, blackout blinds in all the bedrooms. All the family felt very welcome, with bread, milk, fruit, biscuits and cheese on arrival. WiFi issue swiftly resolved by Sarah and Russell (after 9 pm on Saturday evening :-) ) The views are stunning, we enjoyed eating on the terrace in the evening sunshine, and there was lots to visit in the area. We had a good time at the Wool Museum in Drefach Felindre. I would recommend!

  • Beautiful house in the most gorgeous location, we loved every minute of our stay, Sarah very kindly left us some welcome goodies for our arrival which were much appreciated after a long journey, the house itself is bright, airy and spacious, decorated and furnished with thought, creativity and style, the local area is absolutely stunning, from Cenarth falls to all the beautiful beaches, Ceredigion has so much more to offer than we expected, just perfect.

  • This is a great place to stay and the hosts are fantastic! We were absolutely delighted with our stay. Every care was taken to ensure that we had all we needed, the place is so well equipped, super clean and eBay was so lovely was that Sarah and her mum left us milk, bread and more as a kind welcome. The views are splendid and it’s very peaceful: a good spot all round- not too far from the sea and not too far from the Brecon Beacons as well as from the main motorway leading to Carmarthen. Somewhere you can take the time to contemplate life and also find lots of great places to visit. The only thing worth checking are directions, as the air BnB map is not totally accurate!!!

  • You will have a lovely stay at Dol Llan Mansion! Kate is an amazing host and it really comes across that her number one priority is your comfort and enjoyment. We booked quite late but Kate was more than happy to accommodate us which was great. The mansion is amazing, such a cool space and Kate is very knowledgeable about the house so ask her if you want to know more. We loved our room (Rees Thomas Suite), the bed was huge and super comfy. The bathroom is lovely and modern and we loved the bathtub! The highlight for us was probably Kate's food. We opted to take advantage of the three course meal on offer and we were not disappointed. We came down for dinner at 7 and the table was beautifully laid (we were the only people staying so that was an added plus!) Our meal was amazing, high quality ingredients and Kate obviously takes a lot of care and pride in her food. The breakfast the following morning was also amazing. Again, good quality ingredients, even bacon and sausages from their own pigs! Unfortunately, due to the weather being so grim, we weren't able to take advantage of the hot tub/swim spa but we hope to on our next visit! Overall, a lovely, restful, cosy night away in beautiful surroundings with amazing food. Thank you, Kate! We'll be back!

  • We stayed in the house on BnB with Kate and Andy and their 4 little doggies. The house is amazing and you have your own space to read or watch a bit of TV (we didnt watch much as the the hottub was too tempting and we enjoyed watching the local wildlife) but remember have some respect as this is someones actual house. Kate does offer meals and what a fantastic cook she is, the breakfasts are amazing. The BIG hot tub is more of a lake and is a fantastic addition to what was a great holiday for my wife and I. We came as guests but ended up leaving as friends. We will definately returning again and try butlers Cottage maybe next time. Communication is key and we found both Kate and Andy very welcoming and respectful to ensure that we had a fantastic stay. Don't delay contact Kate via the appropriate links you won't regret it.

  • Amazing facilities and fantastic hosts! We had dinner in the evening, beautiful home cooked local produce and the breakfast was outstanding. A perfect 5* rural retreat.

  • My favourite Airbnb experience so far. We will be back again for sure - it was a beautiful mansion with a huge hot tub! Kate and Andy both looked after us - the drinks, breakfast, dinner! Drinks were also priced well - we were very happy with our stay. Kate shared lots of stories with us and we enjoyed hearing them. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was one of the nicest bathrooms I have ever seen - already miss the bath tub! Looking forward to visiting again! Cute dogs as well and Netflix available downstairs for those that want to watch a film!

  • Had such a lovely stay! The hosts were incredibly attentive and wonderful to talk to! Showed us all the puppies and birds that they keep, and just felt very much at home! Situated in a beautiful hidden away location, and no need to leave as the food is delicious and home-made! Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again, and actually we will! Thank you so much!!

  • Great hosts and great facilities. The hot tub was amazing and our room was beautiful. Nothing is ever too much bother for Kate or Andy and the food was delicious. The perfect place for a relaxed but homely stay away.

  • Pictures do not do Kate’s place justice! Me and my partner stayed in the Rees Thomas suite for 1 night and were blown away. The size of our room was outstanding, very comfy bed, lovely modern bathroom with huge bath and shower cubicle. Everything you needed in the room, tv,water, tea&coffee, bath robes, towels, toiletries, hairdryer... we had dinner made beautifully by Kate, hearty portions. We couldn’t get enough of the hot tub, big enough to fit at least 10 people in, Bluetooth speakers built in so you can relax to your own music from your phone and enjoy a nice drink as we did :) lovely surroundings and we were made to feel very welcome and at home. Breakfast was cooked beautifully in the morning by Kate again and Andy was a top host. We would love to come back again for a longer stay at this amazing hidden gem
