  • Second time staying at Norm and Jean’s was as terrific as the first. The apartment is comfortable, sparkling clean and very well equipped. Location is peaceful & 1min from the beach. Wonderful relaxing experience!

  • Norm's home was beautifully decorated and very clean. Check in was very simple. He had assorted snacks and drinks which was helpful in between meals. He gave us recommendations for things to do which was very thoughtful. Nice relaxing weekend away from the city!

    Nicholas2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastically located apartment with a great view of the sea. Everything is decorated very chic and a cozy evening by the fireplace completes the day!

  • Amazing host, lots of attention to details which made our stay very pleasant. They have a beautiful home in an amazing location. We'd love to visit their home again!

  • This is an absolutely charming house in a charming area. Norm was perfect, very hospitable when welcoming us and then left us to ourselves but told us to text if we needed anything. He was very responsive and generally answered within a few minutes any question I asked. The apartment had lots of little extras like water, coffee and snacks. The porch’s view was beautiful, the decor perfect for a sea side get away. The area is super quiet and dark at night. The only sounds we heard were the waves and seagulls. It was just the relaxing getaway we were looking for! Definitely hope to be back for a longer stay in the future!

    Erin2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful quiet getaway! Norm offered us excellent dining tips and he was spot on! Nearby a nice beach for relaxing in the sun or taking a walk.

    Karen2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Norm's Home by the Sea was a delightful experience in every respect. The setting on Rhode Island's beautiful coast and the benefit of a private community tops our list of advantages here. The apartment is quaint and included everything we wanted for a comfortable stay. We made good use of the stone patio with grill and picnic table. After walking on the beach, the outside shower made cleaning up quick and easy. We especially enjoyed drives to the nearby small towns, walking on well kept nature trails and dining at our hosts favorite eateries. We recommend Norm's place for his gracious hospitality and a unique look at New England life.

  • Another great trip to Little Compton to The Home by The Sea. Norm, Jill and Salty Dog really make this feel like we are at our home away from home. The hospitality offered to us is outstanding. We are already counting the days to our trip next year.

  • My family and I rented this house and had an absolutely amazing experience. This is a true Rhode Island beach escape plus so much more. Doc was an incredible host and ambassador to Little Compton. The house was better than advertised with 180 degree views out back of the ocean and Newport in the distance with the front facing the peaceful Sakonnet harbor. We utilized the beach in our back yard for fire pits and canoes and walked two minutes down the street to Lloyd’s beach (one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches we have ever seen). This house, location, and experiences available through this rental are an absolute steal for a family on vacation. We will 1,000% rent this home again. Thank you Doc!

  • Perfect location. Great for families with kids. Proximity to private beach made going back and forth easy. Sunset is unreal. Would definitely book again

    Tavish2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Location, location, location. This cozy house in Little Compton is in an amazing spot — nice yard, beautiful views all day and especially as sunset, private little beach with a nice fire pit, great bigger beach right down the street, two more a gorgeous mile and a half walk away, and several more a 15-20 minutes walk away; private Sakonnet Point Club right next door if you are a member or have reciprocal benefits through the University Club, private Sakonnet Golf Club a short walk or drive away if you want to arrange golf or tennis with the host, short drive to Sakonnet Vineyard and downtown Little Compton restaurants, etc. The house itself is a classic New England beach house — cozy, not fancy; could certainly be a bit cleaner; 2.5 completely reasonable bathrooms; nice porch with ocean view, full kitchen and bbq grill, two nice bedrooms upstairs and a little one downstairs, living room with fireplace. Has all the basics, and some nice amenities, but not luxurious, so temper your expectations on the inside space and enjoy the outside spaces, which are truly amazing. Our family of four (two older children) had a wonderful week long stay. The host is a really nice guy with a treasure trove of stories and local knowledge.

  • Amazing spot right on the water. Bought fish from the boat at the pier next door. Nice compact home.

  • A beautiful peaceful place on the waterfront, total peace and the hosts were so amazingly hospitable

    Phoebe2018-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time. What a beautiful view. This is the perfect location with lots of things to do. Fishing, beach, kayaking, and golf. Fresh lobster at your door!

    Diana2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place right on the ocean with great deck and wall of windows on the first floor. Surprisingly quiet and peaceful despite being next to the Sakonnet Club and harbor. The shore in front is rocky but very swimmable. However you can walk 1/4 mile to the stunning Sakonnet Point beach which has a lovely sandy beach. Not much to do in area so perfect for relaxing and taking walks and bike rides. You should note that the third bedroom is really quite small with a single day bed--fine a child. Needs a little TLC but still a comfortable beach cottage.

Spectacular rural views and natural light. Perfect getaway from crowds. Curl up with a good book and then have a hot soak in the slipper tub! Super insulated, warm and cozy. Ceramic pellet stove adds ambiance. The 1,200 sq ft retreat is newly renovated. It is located 3 miles from public access Goosewing Beach, and abuts 10 acres of Agricultural Conservancy farm land. Exclusive access to 1.5 baths, and a 750 sq ft open space with kitchen, living, and dining. Dog friendly.
Willow Retreat is a one of a kind adaptive reuse of a former dairy barn. The owner recently completed a 5 year restoration of the building. Multiple windows and patio doors with South and West exposures provide lots of natural light for all rooms.
  • A lovely secluded spot with lots of privacy and amenities. Comfy couches to read on, comfy beds. We did not cook but a fully equipped kitchen. Would highly recommend.

  • Luke was a wonderful host and his home is all he says it is. Truly a luxury stay, the soaker tub was a special treat! The views to the beautifully landscaped yard made me feel surrounded by beauty. A must stay location. I will be back! Luke was kind and easy to communicate with.

    Faith2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Even in the winter, this place shines. Beautiful home that hugs you with it’s coziness and thoughtful touches. Good location outside of the Newport area, local cafes and diners nearby. Beautiful little beach about 10 minute drive. Would recommend for a peaceful getaway!

    Alex2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Can't say enough about Luke's peaceful and beautiful oasis. Surrounded by pastoral farm-coast you will relax in the lap of luxury. Amateur ornithologists, pack your binoculars; within the first five minutes we saw cardinals, dark-eyed junco, house finch, tufted titmouse and sparrows flitting around the feeders and fields. Indulge in a bubble bath in the slipper tub! Make a delicious meal in the fully-equipped, light-filled modern kitchen. You will have all the electronic connectivity you need, but the need for it will dissolve in the midst of the beauty of the place. Luke is a Renaissance Man of a host; kind and responsive, but offers his guests space to enjoy his gorgeous retreat. Thank you, ever so much!

    Elaine2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Such a clean and beautiful place! Will recommend to anyone thinking of going to little Compton!

    Amanda2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Luke's place was everything we could have wanted and more. Plenty of space and privacy, plus it's a very quiet area. Also, Luke was very responsive when we reached out with a couple questions. We will certainly be back if we ever need a place to stay in Little Compton again.

    Scott2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We spent Thanksgiving week at the Willow Farm Winter Retreat-luxury suite and we couldn't be more thankful for Luke's hospitality. The converted barn is beautiful and every room is filled with highlights -- from the open kitchen and large farm wood table, to the expansive bookshelf with a variety of reads, to the bathroom and large tub -- we loved spending quality time as a family time together (4 adults and 3 dogs). Luke was quick to respond to our needs and give recommendations for the area.

    Michelle2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Luke's place was just as beautiful as the photos. It was peaceful and comfortable -- the perfect getaway. There were many thoughtful touches to make the place homey and welcoming. We can't wait to go back.

  • This little gem of a cottage is the perfect place for a quiet weekend get-a-way...... or stay longer in the summer/early fall to enjoy the absolutely beautiful beach that is just a short walk down the road. The house itself says "WELCOME" the moment you walk through the door! It is lovely, immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, plenty of room and has just about everything you need. Just bring your food! Katie was literally a phone call away and returned messages immediately. Just outside the sliding door is a large deck with a beautiful view of the property where I enjoyed my morning coffee. A young buck strolled up very casually to me while I taking in the view. We love seeing the wildlife that we encountered at the house and beach. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope that we can go back when our schedules allow us to stay longer. Thanks so much! We appreciated the hospitality!

Nearby Briggs Beach is beautiful, fluffy sand and big rolling waves. We had a wonderful time, I look forward to coming back some day. Little Compton is definitely an undiscovered gem, peaceful and relaxing.

  • The home is beautiful and in a great location. The Airbnb worked out well for our large group.

    Linda2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great week in little Compton - the house is comfortable with a great layout and an enjoyable deck for nice evenings. The street is very kid-friendly. Our toddler loved meeting other kids and running around the neighborhood. The walk to the beach is not too bad even with two little ones. A perfect home away from home!

    Katherine2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great house in a nice family community and easy access to the beach. This was our second stay and loved it both times.

    Bob2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second year in a row staying at this property and it’s perfect. It can comfortably accommodate 7-8 people and has plenty of outdoor living space. It’s less than a mile from the beach, which we went to every day! The weather in late July / early August is perfect. Great street for kids to ride bikes on. The house is well-appointed and has plenty of beach towels and beach chairs.

    Nicole2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in beautiful Little Compton. So much inviting space with lovely touches - games and blocks for the kids, fresh flowers, plenty of towels for the beach and shower!

    Karen2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our 2nd time we stay at Rebecca's beautiful beach house! It fits my family comfortably. The kids have enough space. The beach is literally around the corner, not much more I could ask for. Quiet and safe neighborhood for the children at play. The beds are comfortable. The rooms were clean when we arrived along with the bathrooms. It rained one of the days that we were there, but thankfully, the house had Netflix so the kids were able to have a movie night, which saved the day! Overall, it was another amazing staycation for our family. The kids enjoyed playing in the yard and and our daily trips to the beach, as did the adults. I'm so glad we chose to stay here again. We are already looking forward to next year!

    Stephanie2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Rebecca's place is incredible. The house has a nice layout that is conducive for having dinner for six while also providing everyone with their own space when needed. The deck/backyard space is also a great bonus. We had several relaxing post-beach sessions on the deck while our three-year-old tired himself out running in the backyard. Rebecca is a good communicator and the house manual was very helpful. I'm already missing our early morning runs to South Shore and coffee at the Art Cafe.

  • The Gray Gable cabin is so great! Interesting styles/ touches, straightforward, organized, and clean. Faith and Peter were extremely welcoming and provided excellent hospitality, care, and touches to make the place feel like home. I got so much work done there during my stay - there are no distractions. The area is beautiful also. Thank you Faith and Peter! Best, David

  • We just returned home to Florida after a wonderful 1 month stay at Grey Gable in Little Compton, RI. What a delightful cottage - we had the best time staying there. We miss it already! The cottage was very comfortable, relaxing, well-equipped, and pet friendly for our 2 person + 2 dog family. Even our dogs had a great vacation: running and playing in the safely fenced yard, walking down the country lanes, and visiting with our host's beautiful hound. Little Compton and the surrounding area is charming and historic; the location is well-suited for day trips to explore other villages/towns. It is a great place to unwind and relax. There is more to see and do in the area than there is available time! Our host, Faith, was very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about places to go and local information. Her husband, Peter, even shared his bounty of delicious tomatoes and zucchini with us! We really appreciated Faith and Peter's hospitality - which was friendly but never intrusive. Thank you for helping us have a great vacation! We hope to be able to return to Grey Gable again in the future.

    Barbara2016-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here over NYE, and it was a perfect escape. Faith, our host, provided lots of very nice extras that made our stay very special. The cottage itself was clean and cozy, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone.

    Caroline2015-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our host, Faith, was very responsive to all our questions before we even arrived. She provided clear directions to her cottage and we were delighted to see that red mailbox marking our spot. Upon entering the cottage we were greeted with a large basket of gorgeous fresh peaches and, on the kitchen floor, a bright yellow water bowl on a pretty blue mat for our dog. All this made all three of us feel welcome! The cottage is charming and very comfortable for two people and a dog. It is immaculately clean, nicely furnished, with a comfy bed, good linens (including lots of fluffy towels), and just about everything you would need for a great vacation (including good sharp knives). We loved the diner look in the kitchen. I would add that the steps to the sleeping loft/room are quite steep and while we had no problem with them, those who have trouble climbing stairs might find this challenging. Also, the huge walk-in closet (very handy) is tucked under the eaves which makes for a charming space but was also the occasion for my tall husband hitting his noggin several times. The cottage was so pleasant that we were reluctant to leave it. We found many places to sit and read or snooze including that cozy front porch, the hammock under the trees and the Adirondack chairs in the yard. When we did leave our home away from home we discovered (all near by) beautiful sandy beaches, ponds and wooded trails for walking, well-supplied food stores, charming restaurants, and farmers' markets. Oh - and at least two wineries. Who can ask for more? Faith is an ideal host. She is helpful and thoughtful without being at all intrusive. We loved our stay here and look forward to return visits.

    Pamela2014-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Gray Gable is the perfect little vacation spot! We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay in the cottage and our entire trip to Little Compton. It was the perfect location for a home base -- off the beaten path but close enough to anything you might need or want! We truly could not have enjoyed our stay more- Faith is a wonderful hostess that has truly thought of everything in creating this space. We will definitely be coming back to this slice of heaven! Never have I had a more peaceful vacation. It is the best!!!

  • Faith owns a beautiful cottage that's decorated in a totally chic and fun way. She's thought of every possibly amenity and staying there feels like a home away from home. Faith was in touch with us throughout our stay in Little Compton, offering us tons of suggestions and helpful tips about the area. We truly loved our stay and can't wait for our next visit.

    Ben2013-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, immaculate, fully equipped cottage, with all the amenities, including a spacious, private yard perfect for lounging about in sun or shade, and perfect for our doggy. Faith was a great host -- immediately responsive to questions by phone or e-mail, generous with tips for outings, yet not intrusive at all. The region is beautiful -- quaint villages, rolling farmland and forest, great beaches. Perfect. We'll be back if she'll have us!

    Malcolm2012-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place!! Faith has done an amazing job making sure that the cottage is fully equipped with everything you'd ever need for a getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed the Gray Gable and the surrounding area. The beaches, the vineyards, paddleboarding, etc. Meeting our host, Faith was also really great. . The cottage is quaint, fun, immaculate, quiet, comfortable with amenities for short or long stays. We kept remarking 'wow, she thought of everything' when it came to all of our cooking and living needs. I wish we were able to stay longer for sure! We will definitely be back. I just hope it's not booked the next time I want to visit. Thanks Faith!!

Walk through the dining-room to the master bedroom suite which includes a green marble shower-stall bathroom, a walk-in dressing-room with a vanity and glass counter top fish-bowl styled sink, queen bed in the bedroom and a small south facing sun-room shared with some oxygenating plants and small custom designed game-table
The neighborhood is quiet and walkable to the beaches. The roads in the area are not in great condition (as in most of RI) so cars drive slowly. The community sprung up as some cottages i the 1900's but have converted to year-round residences, but the beachy character still remains.
  • Clean, easy to access, very charming.

    Ruth2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is just wonderful! You could almost spend the day checking out the interior as well as all the gardening aspects outside. Such a comfortable easy-going spot. Very quiet and safe. The location is great! An easy walk to the beach and a quick drive into town. (Uber is readily available too). Anne was extremely hospitable. She even picked up our cheese platter and left it in the fridge for us. And her flower arrangement that I got for my husband was perfect! My husband and I can’t wait to come back!

    Julia2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Anne was a great host and very responsive to inquiries. Place turned out to be much better than expected -- the pictures don't do it justice!

    Janice2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place is really well located and very comfortable. Everything we needed for our stay was their kitchen well stocked with appliances . The backyard was a really nice space to hang out beaches are very close . Anne was quick to respond if I had any questions. I will definitely be staying here again.

    Laura2019-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely the perfect place to stay. Accommodations and location were fantastic. The place was quiet and Anne was a great host. No complaints at all. Everything was as good as described if not better. We will definitely be returning to stay there again.

    Debbie2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ann's place was perfect for my bestie and I while we visited Newport. The backyard was full of plants and flowers with sitting areas. Beautiful little cottage with great space and amenities. Also, a short walk to Eastons beach. Flo's Clam shack is also super close. A must do for seafood!

  • My only hesitation with writing my review is I want to keep this place all to myself!! It was wonderful. The House: Quaint, stylish, cozy, clean, comfy (beds and couches), and well appointed (high quality linens, appliances, cabinets stocked with pots, pans and anything you could possibly need). Our family of four (2 adults and 2 kids) felt right at home. We loved playing in the yard and showering outdoors!! Location: Close to 2 great beaches Little Compton is the coolest place. Unlike most beach towns that are crowded and the houses are close by, this place is rural. Farm land and beach land all wrapped up together. It's really special. Things we did: Went to the beach, biked, swam, played ping pong (Cathy has a table), went for runs, ate lots of ice cream, played in the yard, read books, played board games. Eating in & out: Cathy has everything you need to eat in (coffee maker, pots/pans, etc). There is a large Market Basket Grocery in Fall River. With that said we were able to get small stuff at Wilbur's Store in town (milk, orange juice, eggs). We never made it to Lee's in Westport. But we were told they are a good small grocer. As for restaurants, there aren't a lot. We probably found our way to all of them. We especially loved the following: Partners' in Westport for breakfast The Barn in Little Compton for breakfast (amazing) Simmons Market in Little Compton for sandwiches, smoothies and salads Crowther's in Little Compton for fish & chips and burgers. They make a delicious grass fed burger! A-1 for pizza, it wasn't spectacular but it was good. The Commons Lunch in Little Compton for a lobster roll and onion rings (cash only) Earles in Little Compton for ice cream (cash only) Overall this place and the surroundings were A+++++. It is a wonderful bucolic retreat by the sea.

  • Loved the home and serenity of the surroundings. This is a perfect place for those who are looking for a quiet beautiful place to relax and enjoy spending quality time with your family/friends. The home had a fully equipped kitchen which allowed us to cook fabulous meals as a family. The outdoor shower was great and two of the bedrooms have air conditioners which are appreciated on hot humid days. (Also air conditioner in the kitchen). The outdoor space is private and the large table allowed us to share our meals al fresco. There are four bikes which we were able to use and ride around and take in the lovely scenery of Little Compton. Catherine provided tips on beaches to see and local markets, etc to try. We loved our stay in Little Compton!

    Sonya2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures can I do justice! The amazing outer space was wonderful and their beautiful home was so comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated!! Both Catharine and Jim were amazingly friendly to my family provided all we needed! Loved our week~ worth every cent!!!!

    Jennifer2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • It was LOVE at first sight! The cottage is so quintessential New England with so much character. It was fully stocked with everything you could possible need or want. Lovely outside area with hedge rows for privacy and an enormous table for outdoor meals and cocktails. We loved the outdoor shower! Didn’t even use the one inside! Little Compton is quiet with just enough to do to keep us busy. Walking on the coast, down country roads, great winery, and several good restaurants. Had great lobster from just down the street. Cathy was great! Even though I didn’t get to meet her (she was visiting family) she made sure I had access to everything I needed and I felt comfortable reaching out with questions. She even gave me a delish recipe for grilled lobster. Wonderful vacation!

    Zoe2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • The guest house was very nice, there was plenty of room, Catherine was great, she met us there and showed us around. The fridge was stocked with items we would need in the morning so we didn't have to go the store when we arrived. The parking was great. The house was close to beaches, there was a screened in porch and courtyard. Overall, it was great!

    Robert2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • The most fantastic stay at a picturesque Rhode Island house! We couldn’t have had a better holiday. Cathy is an exceptional hostess. The house was better than we anticipated. Perfect for families. And an idyllic location. I hope we can come to stay again.

    Jane2018-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cathy and Jim are fantastic hosts. They offered many helpful tips during our stay. The cabin is located in a super quiet area in close proximity to various farm stands/markets and gorgeous beaches. You can easily get to Newport, Providence, the cape and Narragansett from the cabin in under an hour. The bikes that our hosts provided proved to be helpful in accessing some of the best beaches were vehicle access isn’t available. I cannot say enough about the property. It is so peaceful, comfortable and beautiful. Out back of the cabin is walled in with privacy hedges. It creates a feel of a private garden. We had all of our meals outside and spent hours relaxing and reading outside in total quiet. Thank you for a fantastic week!

  • Avila's father is an excellent host and a true gem, and I loved my time in Little Compton. Avila and her father offered an early check in and later departure, which was much appreciated. We were greeted with fresh cut flowers from the garden as well as wine, coffee and other basics for our stay at a peaceful 2 bedroom, 2 bath "in law suite" located within walking distance from the ocean. The property is truly amazing!! Note that there isn't private & full kitchen within the 2 bed/2 bath private space, but there is a coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, electric kettle, washer & dryer and enough cutlery and dining supplies for a pleasant stay. Do stop by the local produce markets to pick up yummy (and healthy!) snacks for your time at Avila's place! The beds were super comfortable, and the entire suite was exactly what I needed for an escape to peace and quiet. Each night, I feel asleep to the sound of the ocean. Every morning, I walked my dog to the majestic beach at the end of the road and met a few sweet neighbors along the way. I hope to return soon!!! Thank you!!!

    Lindsay2018-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This property was charming and remote, set in a beautiful meadow and woods near the ocean. The interior is cozy and also spacious. Avila and her family were very considerate and attentive hosts - they were worried about us having a good time on a rainy saturday and offered us suggestions of what to do in the area. Turns out this was a great place to stay, rain or shine, as it was an easy drive to Newport and a lot of cute little coastal towns. Thanks Avila, for a memorable weekend on the south coast!

  • This is a truly beautiful property! The grounds are breathtaking and you’re a short walk to the ocean. It’s very serene and scenic. I loved every minute of here. Aside from the beauty of this property, Brent is what makes you want to return. His kind disposition and lovely hospitality make this place even more special. What a wonderful, kind man.

  • I enjoyed my stay here. All was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the dining area with the serene views of nature. The freedom of two living areas so we could both do our own thing was great! The treats on the bed.... the wild flowers ...the wine..... were wonderful touches to our cosy stay. Brent is a great host!

    Corinne2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • The great treasure of this house is Brent - he is a charming, loving host who put a lot of love and care into building this beautiful home. The second treasure of this house is location, location, location - simply epic in every way - Little Compton, one of my favorite places from all my travels.

Very private second floor space in Little Compton, close to the village of Adamsville. There is one bedroom with a queen bed. The home is accessed through an exterior set of stairs around the back of the home. The first floor is unoccupied, so you have this entire home to yourselves. The entire view from the deck is of woods and a historic cemetery. Little Compton is a small quiet town with multiple beaches close by. It is an excellent place for bike riding and we have many hiking trails.
Second floor space with one queen bed. We do have a portable crib for a little one. Very private backyard and deck area.
We are in the bucolic town of Little Compton, close to the village of Adamsville. In the village there are a couple coffee shops, breakfast and lunch restaurants, a couple shops, and a liquor store. We have multiple beaches- South Shore Beach, Horseneck Beach, and Fogland Beach are the closest. Many different areas for hiking and very popular for bike riding.

Kristin's home was spotless, exactly as described, and very private. We were excited to also see the farm fresh eggs available to use for our breakfast the following morning! We felt so comfortable during our stay that we were sad to leave, and would love to come back again some day!

**Please note, renovation of this space is in progress and due to be complete 4/1/2020** The above-garage apartment at Stonewillow Farm is a studio style apartment with 1 queen bed, a loveseat and television, a small dining table and a kitchenette (microwave, toaster, mini fridge). The apartment is accessed by a private outdoor stairway and surrounded by trees, stone walls, and idyllic farm land. The apartment borders a 300 year old colonial farmhouse that was once occupied by British soldiers!
***This apartment is primarily OFF-GRID. While we do have electricity and wifi in the apartment, there is no plumbing, so the space has a composting toilet, basin sinks with water tank, and an OUTDOOR shower.*** The apartment is on a homestead property where we value sustainability, simplicity and serenity. The surroundings at Stonewillow Farm reflect that. We have beehives, a large vegetable garden, fruit trees, two 300 year old stone wells, two resident donkeys and 8 chickens. We urge you to spend as much time as possible soaking in the grounds and spending time in your private patio dining area. We offer beginner chicken-keeping classes, donkey hikes, and beekeeping classes. We also sell honey as often as available, and farm fresh eggs are always available for guests to take home! The property is nearby to everything Newport has to offer, while still feeling private, quiet, and peaceful. We often feel like we step back in time whenever we come on to the property- we hope you'll feel the same. For your convenience, some local "hot spots" distance from Stonewillow Farm: Newport Vineyards: 3.4 Miles Sandy Point Beach: 2.9 Miles Glen Manor House: 2.3 Miles Greenvale Vineyards: 3.8 Miles Newport Mansions: 9.3 Miles Downtown Thames St, Newport: 8.3 Miles Fort Adams State Park: 11.8 Miles Bristol, RI: 8.5 Miles

  • A wonderful location! Quiet and peaceful and the cottage is lovely.

    Midori2019-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our long weekend at this cottage! We are a family of four with a 7 year old and a 16 year old. We enjoyed our relaxing time. Our only complaint was that since we were so busy with family engagements in MA and CT that we didn't get to enjoy the cottage and grounds as much as we would have liked. My husband and I were blown away with the craftsmanship of this cottage. The details and use of space are spectacular. Also the location was so peaceful and quiet and the beds were so comfy that sleeping was wonderful. The cottage has the perfect amount of furniture inside and out. And we were very pleased to learn that towels and linens were provided. And fir our next trip we will take advantage of the nearby beach (great reviews) and then the outdoor shower and washer and dryer will come in handy. Stephen was VERY responsive! Reservations and check-in were a breeze! We highly recommend this cottage.

    Mandy2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Chaffee Cottage is the most comfortable, immaculate, and lovely accommodation in Little Compton - we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. Stephen was a most welcoming and responsive host. Beyond 5 stars!!!

  • Stephen's excellent communication and accurate description of the property this rental made a wonderful experience. His directions and helpful hints around the house made everything a breeze. Nothing fancy. Just a simple cottage on the beach.
It's all about convenience. This cottage is right on Easton's pond, across the street from the beach, in a popular restaurant area, and only 1 mile from downtown Newport (and you can use the shuttle for an additional daily fee of $8 per person).
  • Amazing view and close to the cliff walk!

    Olivia2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Our cabin was right on the water. In walking distance to the beach and some great restaurants. Friendly local dive bar right next door. As others mentioned we did have an issue with the hot water. Overall great stay. Would recommend.

Enjoy the farm life in our 300-year-old farmhouse located just 5 minutes from the local beaches. Our rustic 2nd-floor apt is full of natural light that overlooks the barn & our many creatures, including free-range chickens, goats & a pig. The unit includes a queen sized bed, full kitchen, walk-in shower, tub, & central AC/heat. We are an operational farm, loud noises may occur, & you can expect to have a real-life rooster alarm clock. Must love dogs as we have 5 who will absolutely love you!
Our apartment is located on the 2nd floor, and guests will enter through the front door of the home facing the street. The stairs ahead lead to the apartment. There is a 1st-floor unit, please do not enter through knocked doors in the hallway. We offer one to two parking spaces as needed. Feel free to visit and say hello to our many animals, and explore the grounds.
Located on a quiet street, minutes from the center of town, where you can find the coffee shop, pizza place, and general store. We are perfectly located just down the street from the only bar in town, and close to the beaches.
  • Great little apartment and property. Very clean and cozy. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit this little farm and all the unique touches.

  • Amazing farm that is very well decorated!

    James2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia was the best host we’ve ever had and was responsive on every question we had. Not only was she so accommodating, but when we left in the morning she showed us around the farm and let us feed all the animals. I would gladly stay and if I could, live there full-time! Thanks again Tricia!

    Jeremy2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, cozy. Attractively decorated. Quickly responded to a concern we had. Supper convenient to Little Compton. Enjoyed our visit.

    Bill2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • We were in love as soon as we walked in. The property has lots of friendly animals which were a plus. Location was good, close to restaurants and not too far from walking trails and shops. The place itself was absolutely delightful. There were amenities for both coffee and tea. There were fresh eggs left in the fridge as well from the farms chickens. And the bathroom was heaven. We made use of the towel warmer, the bathtub, and the large shower. Would definitely stay again!

    Maranda2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely apartment that is very comfortable and unique!

    Brad2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a good place to stay for those not seeking a standard motel/ hotel experience. Little Compton is quiet and picturesque. The beautiful beach is not far away. Waking up and seeing all the happy animals outside engaged in their own lives is somehow heartening. The queen bed was very comfortable. The living room furniture was on the small side but not uncomfortable. As obvious from the pictures, there are some beams to be ducked around if you are tall. My husband is over 6 feet and he managed. The kitchen was cheerful and well supplied, with coffee, tea, fresh eggs and cooking implements. The bathroom had a lot of fun touches as well as an ample supply of towels and hot water. We were very comfortable.

    Brook2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • A true gem in New England. Staying at this farmhouse was the highlight of our trip around the region. The space feels like a home away from home, a dreamy & stylish loft with perfect amenities and farm animals to greet you in the morning! Tricia was super responsive and our stay could not have been better. Don't miss this place!

Beautiful Water Views and a Secluded Sandy Beach at the End of the Street - An Attractive, Clean and Fully Updated Home - Interesting Design Features for the Discriminating Traveler - Perfect for Couples and Young Families
Lovely contemporary cottage available for weekend getaways, holiday weeks, New England summers, and cozy fall/winter excursions in front of the fireplace. We just recently completed a complete renovation to the highest standards. Panoramic westerly water views and Sunsets over the Sakonnet River from the master bed balcony. Great artwork, funky antiques, granite/stainless kitchen, claw foot tub, two custom baths, two gas fireplaces, antique pine flooring, vintage radiators, and cool custom/vintage materials give this cottage a clean, contemporary and interesting feel. We are new to the vacation home market so don't have many reviews, but there are more here: (website hidden) The best feature of this home is a grand 30 x 15 Master suite featuring a built-in fireplace, king size bed, gorgeous private bath, and french doors to a mahogany balcony overlooking the Narragansett Bay. The Master Suite is the entire 2nf floor, thus the lower level has smaller rooms, with a 20 x 12 kitchen/living area, a bedroom with bunk bed (double mattress on the bottom, single on top), a sitting/tv/reading room (with daybeds), and a great custom bathroom. There's a mahagony front porch, vintage cobblestone patio, and a fantastic hot/cold mahogany outdoor shower. The rear deck has a gas grill and dining table. Its not a party house, its a tasteful little cottage, ok for entertaining in the summer but smallish for winter indoor dinners of more than 4 adults. I think the house is a perfect romantic weekend getaway any time of the year, or great retreat for a young family. Fall and winter getaways are especially nice with two gas fireplaces for warmth and ambiance, high-density foam insulation that keeps the keeps the house cozy, and old-fashioned hot water cast iron radiators that provide awesome heat. (We welcome dogs, but please note there is an additional pet fee.) Little Compton is a charming New England seaside town that has maintained it colonial charm through three centuries. Stone walls, pastures, farm stands, fresh seafood, sandy beaches, nature walks are abundant. This is from a 7/28/13 story in the Providence Journal: "What the state’s historical commission wrote in a survey report about the town in 1986 remains true today: “Isolated and remote, Little Compton has been relatively free from the political pressures or economic forces that have transformed much of the rest of Rhode Island into a dense, urban and suburban metropolis.” “The town’s resistance to change — at first a result of its isolation, later due to deliberate decisions — has preserved a remarkable legacy,” the report added. “... Little Compton presents an idyllic picture, complete with rolling topography, a quiltwork pattern of stone-wall-bounded farms and woodland, complemented by marshes, saltwater ponds, barrier beaches, a rocky promontory at Sakonnet Point, old farm complexes, comfortable summer houses, winding roads, and tree-lined villages.” Newport is appx 30 minutes away, Providence or Boston an hour or so. Walk to the beach at the end of our street, or a short drive to numerous other beaches, nature trails, the town commons, Sakonnet Vineyards, Christmas tree farms, artists studios and antique shops. Includes: Linens, towels, cookware, a couple of televisions, loads of dvds and books; coffee maker, nespresso machine, WiFi. Bring your suitcase, bike, kayak, or running shoes and you should be fine!
Its a great location close to almost everything the area has to offer. The secluded mostly private beach at the end of the street is a real bonus, esp if you have young children and don't want to pack the car for a day at the beach
  • Beautiful space, wonderful amenities and great local suggestions. Perfect spot to spend our five year anniversary - relaxing on the porch, taking in the breath-taking views and enjoying wonderful Little Compton. We will definitely be a return visitor.

    Melissa2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We've been visiting Little Compton for the better part of 20 years and this was our best year ever!

    Julie2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Was the perfect place for us....great walks, view, comfortable, amenities, did not have to bring your own sheets (yay), very nice towels, great bathrooms, very New England house and area. Gas stoves were nice to take chill out of a couple cool Sept days.

    Christine2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a great view out the master bedroom. Washed away lots of stress to wake up to that view and the wonderful ocean breeze.

    Cynthia2018-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nicely renovated New England cottage, but the real highlight for us was the beach just a few short blocks away. It's rocky with just a little sand, but the swimming area is an almost endless sandbar, making for a delightful place to swim with small children. The house itself was well-designed, with 2 porches we made use of and thoughtful details all around. The expansive master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, however the bed was on the softer side (it might be memory foam?), so not ideal for us. Our trip was during a heat wave so the AC units (one on each floor) were frequently running, and they can be loud at night. Overall a great Airbnb stay, we'd definitely stay here again, should the opportunity come up.

    Chris2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage, and our stay, was perfect. It was just as described and even more charming than the pictures show. The drive to and from the house into the town of Little Compton is absolutely gorgeous. We liked that it was an easy walk to the beach and there was no traffic or noise, making it an ideal place for our family to just hang out and relax. Would definitely stay again!

    Megan2018-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Modern and updated home with some very cool and different design elements. Bed were comfortable, linens were nice and house was well stocked with the basics (shampoo, conditioner, soap, kitchen basics). Walking distance to a rocky beach that becomes a really nice at low tide. By far our favorite location in Little Compton, close enough to Tiverton to walk around 4 corners, but far enough removed to feel like an escape. Would definitely stay again and recommend!

    Cara2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautifully designed, well-thought-out space with a lovely view. We really couldn't have asked for a better experience. We had a wonderful stay and didn't want to leave. Thanks for sharing your beautiful cottage with us!

The ultimate romantic Airbnb getaway! Stay in a private luxury apartment on the second floor of a 1881 historic 4 acre mansion. It's the perfect spot to celebrate your anniversary, honeymoon or other special occasion. This estate is one of the most spectacular addresses in all of Rhode Island. Step back in time to the era of steel and railroad barons. Apartment has all modern amenities. From this apartment you'll have sweeping views of the entire 3 1/2 mile Cliff Walk and Atlantic Ocean.
This luxury apartment is located on the second floor of a historic oceanfront mansion. From this apartment you have out of this world oceanfront views of the entire 3 1/2 mile Cliff Walk. This is the only estate on the island with such views. The perfect place of a romantic getaway or to celebrate another special occasion.
The neighborhood the mansion is located in is close to restaurants that are only a couple mins drive away and my location is about a 7 minute drive to downtown Newport and a 5 minute drive to Cliff Walk.
  • We loved this place!Anthony was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed at check in. He also welcomed us with a local bottle of wine. He told us all about the history of the house and the area. You can see your place from the beach and the Cliff Walk which is very cool. The area is very safe and easy to get around. Anthony’s place has everything you would need and a view from every room.

Our design is inspired by coastal Newport, RI, these cozy one-bedroom cottages will be your perfect home away from home. Each cottage is uniquely furnished and have two-levels. The cottages are located next door to Newport Vineyards so come prepared to take a wine tour and tasting (they offer beer new too!). Aquidneck Land Trust trails are conveniently located nearby as well. Our property has a communal pool, open seasonally from May - October.
On the first level is a 1/2 bath and fully equipped kitchen with the essentials and appliances including blender, keurig coffee machine, microwave, dishwasher sink and small sized refrigerator. The kitchen looks to the living room, furnished with a pull out sofa bed, TV and chair. Upstairs is the bedroom and en-suite bathroom.
  • Such a cute cottage! Beautifully decorated and had a washer and dryer! The host also let us check in @1pm! Perfect for my husband, pup, and myself. We met my family at the winery, which is basically next door so we walked. We later took an Uber downtown! I took the dog for a walk in the am, only problem is there aren’t any side walks, but there are some cute walking trains nearby. Defiantly will be back!

    Lauren2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and adorable, my girls did not want to leave!

    Nicole2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage at East Island was perfect for a long weekend visiting Newport. It’s about 10 min ride to downtown and walking distance to a lovely vineyard and restaurant. The space was clean and comfortable. A definite plus that it was dog friendly. The pool and amenities are great as well! Wouldn’t hesitate to come back!

    Erin2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Amazing location and everything is very clean.

    Leo2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • These cottages were modern, but also so cozy! Exactly what we needed for a short getaway. I wish we had longer to take advantage of the pool and spa services!

    Ashley2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend East Island! Our cottage was immaculate, stylish, and cute at the same time. It was close enough but far enough from down town Newport. We stayed with our 18 month old baby and our dog and it was perfect. The pool was heated and brand new. It was an overall great experience. Also- being walking distance from a vineyard is a plus! We are already planning our trip for next summer!

    Joseph2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Really loved our stay in the cottage! It was very modern and perfect for a few days to enjoy Newport. Being able to bring our dog and still have a wonderful, comfortable and clean place to stay was an absolute delight! The winery next door is an added bonus. The pool is very nice and my only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer!

    Angela2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was clean with new furnishings as depicted in the pictures. The house was supplied with basic necessities such as toiletries, and even detergent pods for the dishwasher and washing machine which we really appreciated. The only thing missing that we wanted was a frying pan but that didn't pose too much trouble. The check-in process and parking was also very convenient––East Island Reserve sends you self check-in information and a map showing your exact reserved spot for the cottage prior to arrival. The best part of this cottage was the convenient location. Walking distance to the winery next door and only 5 minutes drive to nearby supermarket/pharmacy, ~10 minute drive to downtown Newport and Easton Beach. All in all, would highly recommend to book for a trip to RI!

The smart TV in the living room (also in the master suite) allows you to stream your favorite shows- Netflix, hulu, etc. There is a gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops, and four person seating. The dining room is open to the kitchen, there is a 6 person table but would be easy to pull over a couple of the kitchen stools. The dining room is open to the living room. There is a full bathroom downstairs with a Jacuzzi tub and also an office. We offer surround sound for all of downstairs and the master suite (including the bathroom!). The second floor has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom is enough that you would never have to leave! The room has 15' cathedral ceilings. There is another gas fireplace, a king bed, a cedar sauna, a wet bar and a changing room with a large mirror and sink. The master bath has two sinks, a two person Jacuzzi tub, and a walk in steam shower and two rain shower heads. The second bedroom has a king bed and the third bedroom has two full size beds. The third bathroom is between these two bedrooms. There are TVs in all the bedrooms. The house has central AC/heat, WIFI and cable TV throughout. We are excited to have connected with the South Coast Artist community and other local artists to showcase their Artwork in Potters Corner. Enjoy meandering through Potter's Corner enjoying the various and unique Artwork that is so prevalent in Little Compton and the surrounding area. Potter's Corner is located at the bottom of Potterville Rd where in the 1800’s an old mill could be found at the base of Cold Brook; the outflow from Simmons Pond out to Quicksand Pond. Enjoy an evening sitting on the deck listening to the waves crashing at the beaches. Little Compton is perfectly situated for short day trips to the Newport attractions and Middletown Beaches- about a 40 minutes drive. Providence is also about 40 minutes by car. We have a beautiful beach here in Little Compton, and the larger Horseneck Beach, is the next town over in Westport, Ma. Our guests have easily traveled to Boston, Martha's Vineyard and Cape Cod. About the surrounding area; Potters Corner is ideally situated at the base of Quicksand Pond between South Shore Beach in Little Compton and the Acoaxet Club in Westport. South Shore Beach and Goosewing Beach are located just three miles from Potters Corner. CNN travel rated Goosewing Beach one of the world's best eco-friendly beaches due to the effort by the Nature Conservancy to protect the endangered piping plovers. During the summer you can often see areas of the beach roped off because the piping plovers have made their nests. The Benjamin Family Environmental Center is located at Goosewing Beach and is ideally situated to offer visitors a stunning view of the barrier beach and dune, coastal salt pond and historic meadowland. Through expanded programs, walks and rotating educational exhibits, visitors will learn about important natural features and local flora and fauna. Little Compton is a very small, rural and bucolic town with approximately 3500 full time residents. Situated on the southeast of the Sakonnet River; the area is abundant with farmlands, stone walls, and remains untouched by urban sprawl; it’s as if time stayed still in many ways. The Town Commons is located within two miles of Potters Corner and enjoy the local watering hole, Crowther’s, which is within walking distance. For a beautiful collection of photos of Little Compton, please visit our friend Sharon's blog- A New England Life. The area is also very popular for bike riding; the roads are less traveled and very scenic and there are also many choices for hikers. The Dundery Brook trail runs through a forested wetland and then into an open meadow and pond habitat. Seasonal changes in flora and fauna can be observed all year long. Highlights include the spring return of migratory birds and emergence of amphibians of all kinds. Flowering wetland plants that include jack-in-the-pulpit and some very rare plants can be observed along the trail. Particularly suitable for younger children and those for whom getting around can be a challenge, this trail provides visitors with an opportunity to explore a myriad of wetland habitats which support a changing variety of creatures throughout the year. In neighboring Tiverton, RI there are two miles of trails in Emily Ruecker Wildlife Refuge; a 50-acre parcel of woods and salt marsh with trails and fine views of the Sakonnet River. The refuge has blinds for observing and photographing nature. Great Egrets, Snowy Egrets, and Glossy Ibis are among the birds that frequent the marsh. Jack's Island, a peninsula that extends into the Sakonnet River, is home to breeding Ospreys. Very close to the Refuge are three interconnected trails at the 230 acre Pardon Gray Preserve. All are marked with white blazes. The Cemetery Trail passes an active vernal pool near the start. It connects with the Ridge Trial at a point close to the Yellow Trail in Weetamoo Woods. The Ridge Trail ends at a small parking area on Lafayette Road. From the parking lot go about 200 yards west on Lafayette Road to get to the start of the Lafayette Connector trail, which leads back to the parking area along Main Road. Access to the lightly used South Trail is from the Town Farm Recreation Area parking lot at the south end of Pardon Gray Preserve. The cemetery in the center of the 67 acre farmland is that of the family of Pardon Gray. Pardon Gray provided bread and other staples to the soldiers stationed at Fort Barton during the Revolutionary War. Westport Massachusetts is located in the next town over where you can find a quaint shopping area and Horseneck Beach, a large, public state beach reservation where the Westport River joins Buzzards Bay. Also in neighboring Westport is Osprey Kayak where you can take lessons for kayaking or stand up paddling. They also have a huge variety of tours. Their River Tour series offers time in the river or the sea.
Potters Corner is situated in a typical Little Compton neighborhood, new and older homes, there is even a farm right across the street. Crowther's Restaurant is within walking distance. Our town commons has a library, Commons Lunch, Wilbur's, a quaint general store, A1 Pizza, and Earl's, an old fashioned convenience store and our only gas station.
  • This was a perfect Spa getaway, I call it. The highlights for me were the amenities; the sauna and steam shower were amazing, the jacuzzi and fireplace in the master bedroom were all great touches. I did note that the 2 other bathtubs in the house had jets too for a jacuzzi-like experience. I loved the surround sound speakers, which i bluetooth connect my device and heard my music everywhere in the house. The house was spotless clean, with a well equipped kitchen; large outside deck with grill for summertime enjoyment. House is warm and cozy but large enough to accommodate at least 8 ppl comfortably with plenty of room for everyone to find their own little niche when privacy needed. Kristen responded very promptly in attempts to assist with any questions I had. While it was only my Fiancé and myself ringing in the New Year in peace and tranquility this time, I’ll definitely be back for a girls’ getaway next time. Thanks Kristin for allowing us to stay in your lovely home!

  • Lovely spot with everything you need to relax. Enjoyed our stay.

    Giles2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful stay. The house is beautifully appointed and maintained, quite spacious, and the rate was quite reasonable. Kristin was helpfully responsive to questions about possibility of extra keys, and where is the cutting board? We are a family of three; this property would be extra wonderful for larger groups given the huge amount of space, three full bathrooms, two living rooms, three bedrooms, 5 TVs, great kitchen with everything you need, gas fireplace, etc. Close to Boston, Newport, Providence, but don't neglect the beautiful landscapes and beaches right there on the "Farm Coast." There are a good number of short walks/hikes that might particularly appeal to families with growing children as well as access to good restaurants.

  • Kristin and Adam's place exceeded our expectations. It was immaculate, so spacious, high quality linens and many extra blankets and pillows, very comfortable beds, nice thoughtful touches like plenty of tissue boxes, board games, many televisions, toiletries, fully stocked kitchen with condiments, and the amazing sauna and steam shower were better than expected. Many airbnbs claim to have such amenities and then fail to deliver. In this case, the Pottersville home way exceeded our expectations in all areas. Check-in was a breeze and communication was great. Local artwork on the walls was a nice touch. Overall Kristin and Adam were very accommodating and we look forward to staying with them again in the future.

  • Lovely house! Very well appointed, spacious, and comfortable. Perfect for a get-away. Highly recommend!

    James2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Many thanks to Kristin for hosting us on our Girls weekend. The house is spectacular and had plenty of room for all of us. We appreciated all of the great suggestions for restaurants and sights to see in the area.

    Beth2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kristin’s house gets my highest recommendation. The house was comfortable, sparkling clean and well appointed. We couldn’t have asked for more. The location is beautiful and quiet. Six adults spent the weekend. We visited Carolyn's Sakonnet Vineyard, which is just a couple of miles from the house. We found everything we needed at Wilbur’s General Store, right down the road. We look forward to staying here again.

  • Very spacious, accommodating, beautiful home! We had a group and never felt crowded or like we couldn’t have our own space to relax. Highly recommend!

  • You really cannot beat the location. We were so close to it all. And since it’s separated we could come in late without having to tiptoe around. Plus beautiful views if you like water :)

    Karolina2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication, and easy to book. We loved the little cottage with the great view, it had everything we needed. The shuttle service was an added bonus so we could enjoy ourselves without needing to find parking or driving.

Secluded little get-away off the beaten path but close to the beaches, shops, etc. step right out of your door and onto a local trail that’s less than a mile’s walk from Newport Vineyards and only steps away from the golf course, with parking for up to 3 cars
Beautiful walking paths starting on property and continuing throughout the Aquidneck Land Trust
Less than a mile from Newport Vineyard and Sweet Berry Farms.... less than 3 mile bike ride from the beaches!
  • This was my second time staying at Matt’s apartment and I absolutely love it still. The space is super cute and Matt is a wonderful host!

  • Great host, clean place. Everything you need.

    William2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I spent her birthday at Matt’s place and it was SO romantic! We woke up to horses outside of our window and it was a quick little drive into Newport. So scenic and so secluded, if you’re looking for a rural getaway this is the best place! I also needed an early check in and Matt promptly responded with an accommodation to my needs. I am a bit of an air b&b critic, but Matt knocked it out of the park!

    K Lou2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was the first time I went to an Airbnb by myself and I was pleasantly surprised. Matt left a personalized note on the table with a couple tea bags to help me relax. It was touching and set the tone for the whole trip.

    Elena2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The was a very nice space. Very clean and easily accessible to town. Would absolutely recommend this space to anyone traveling ik n the area!

Nestled cozily in Little Compton, Rhode Island, this charming cape (4 bedroom, 2 bath) sits just a mile from beautiful South Shore Beach, an enjoyable bike ride or walk to one of Little Compton's most relaxing destinations. **New pictures posted 5/27/19!!**
In a profile of Little Compton in the New York Times, Dominque Browning wrote, "South Shore is a beach for all seasons, and it is for people of all seasons." This historic New England town offers much in the way of activities beyond luxuriating on the shores, from antiquing and shopping in Little Compton or nearby Tiverton and Westport (MA), casual strolls in town for coffee and to view art, a morning at the Goosewing Nature Preserve, an evening at Carolyn's Sakonnet Vinyard, or historic tours of sites such as The Stone House Inn, The Wilbor House Museum, and the Sakonnet Point Lighthouse. Enjoy the shops and restaurants in the area, or the tranquil peace of sitting on the deck, listening to the sounds of waves crashing in the distance. You'll be glad you came, and we hope you'll visit again!
Set on a private street, the home is in a quiet, residential neighborhood with a mix of summer renters, and year-round residents. Traffic is minimal, the people are friendly -- a perfect place to spend some time relaxing.
  • We had a wonderful time! The house is beautiful all around. Great attention to detail and a great place to spend the holiday weekend. James was also quick to answer any questions.

    Alisandro2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • James was a great host. The house is comfortable and in a great location. Easy one mile walk to the beach. One TV with limited channels made for an interesting debate with my teenage boy as to who gets the TV to watch/play video games at night. If you want to stock the fridge with groceries before you get there stop at Lee’s or Clement’s on the way in. There is limited items to buy in Little Compton. The town is very quiet and quaint. Don’t expect nightlife. Tiverton is a little less isolated. Newport is 45 minutes away. Would definitely go back to LC and rent James’ house.

    Lauren2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This house is bigger than it looks and very tastefully done. It was nice to have some condiments, spices etc. All the appliances etc worked well. Great location. Very close to the beach and to town. James was really responsive and helpful.

    Therese2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the house, beautifully decorated main level, and the neighborhood is so gorgeous! Super close to the beach!

    Ricki2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • James’ house was the perfect fit for a weekend get together and getaway! Beautiful home with great entertainment layout and a lovely back deck for relaxing. Nice walk to the beach and some marsh trails. The location is rural, quiet, and peaceful. James and Diana were quick and happy to answer any questions we had and offer recommendations to help us best enjoy our stay in their town.

    Nicole2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • James and Diana's cottage is a lovely getaway in a historical and quiet town of Little Compton, not far from the exciting Bristol/Newport areas and very close to quiet beach for enjoying the summer. We loved going over to the Sakonnet Winery and trying a few local restaurants. Checking-In/Checking-Out were easy, the house was clean and a great value for the number of sleeping arrangements.

    Elizabeth2019-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • James was gracious and clear and made our stay very easy! The house is comfortable and a bit larger than it seems in the photos.

  • This apartment was perfect for the 2 of us, with plenty of room to spare. It was incredibly clean and cozy from the moment we walked in. Close to the beach, markets, etc, it was a great location and we would definitely love to stay again!

  • Upon arrival we were greeted by Mike and Cora and then were pleasantly surprised to find that they had provided snacks for us. The apartment is very nice with a generous kitchen and living room. There is air conditioning as well as ceiling fans in every room so one can adjust the temperature to one's liking. The location is great with South Shore Beach only 10 minutes away and Horseneck Beach 15 minutes away. For grocery shopping, Lee's Market is only about 10 minutes away. The house is set back from the road and quiet. The living room has a big screen TV with home-theater sound as well as comfy chairs and sofa. It was perfect for family movie watching after a day at the beach. Highly recommended!

    David2019-08-23T00:00:00Z

  • Thank you so much for providing such a clean, spacious & quiet place for our family vacation. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bathroom & bedrooms are so roomy. We had five adults and one toddler and everyone had plenty of options for their own schedules (napping, eating, tv, going to bed). I highly recommend staying here. A home away from home!

Our home is close to the town center, beaches, restaurants, local farm stands and winery. You’ll love our place because of the two cozy bedrooms upstairs & large living room downstairs. There is no kitchen, but we have an outdoor grill and private terrace at your disposal. Our large, beautiful property is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). We are flexible when it comes to check-in and offer the use of our in-ground pool as part of your package.
The living room is rich in art and history of the 1800's whaling era, the heritage of the Snow family. There is a wonderful view of the Sakonnet River with spectacular sunsets, sparkling sunlight on the river and moon-scapes to delight in year 'round. This room is large, but cozy, has internet access, board games and plenty of books to read.
We are blessed with peace and quiet here. We often take walks down the lane off our back yard, on the beaches and in the local woods with trails open to the public. This area is NOT a "tourist-y" destination with multiple conveniences & attractions, but provides a rejuvenating energy as one is connected with a more organic experience. This is a small town covering a large geographical area that is rich with beautiful vistas of farmland to the ocean. We have a small town center with a general store, post office, restaurant, coffee shop, churches and our town beach a short car or bike ride away. The perfect get-a-way to relax and restore.
  • Great location if you are attending an event at the vineyard!

    Kristina2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Clark and Galen's place sits on a beautiful spot. Sitting under the beech tree in front, you can see meadow, pasture, and beyond, the blue of the water. Very picturesque! The house sits on the main road that takes you to well-stocked general store and diner-like restaurant. We enjoyed going to the beach and swimming in the surf, hiking in nearby preserve, and going to local farmstands, including Wishing Stone Farm, which had incredibly good produce and made food. The house was very comfortable and clean--we had very good sleeps!--and Galen and Clark were totally friendly and amenable to what we needed to make our stay comfortable. I hope to come back!

  • Beautiful area and nice location! We enjoyed our stay! Galen and Clark are so nice and kind.

    Umberto2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Clark and Galen were the perfect hosts. The space is cozy and well decorated with a cottage feel. We loved the pool and beautiful outdoor area. Galen showed us her art studio and gorgeous work and Clark helped us find a location for dinner when we arrived on Friday. It was the perfect weekend get away.

    Phoebe2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location and the perfect Little Compton experience. We only stayed a couple of days but wish we could have stayed longer. Clark and Galen made us feel so welcome, just like we were old friends coming for a visit. We will definitely be back!

    Gretchen2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful hosts. Lovely gardens. Galen and Clark are warm and engaging.

    Melanie2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful country retreat, that’s extremely comfortable and well appointed. The hosts were very welcoming and shared their home as if we were long standing friends. They even got the Grill ready for our use and we sat chatting over a glass of wine later that evening. Newport was easy to get to where you can take a cliff top walk, and there’s a winery very close to the house. An Apple Fest was held at an adjoining farm with an abundance of home baking, pumpkins and a trio of musicians entertaining the visitors. A very colourful and enjoyable weekend. Thank you both Pam and John (England)
