  • This cabin was everything we expected and more! We didn’t expect to have a small stove, microwave and small fridge but we did, and it was so convenient. Charley was super friendly, and accommodating with our trip. We arrived 30 mins before check in and Charley was able to accommodate without any fuss or issue. I didn’t expect the cabin to have so much land to explore; between the train track and beach area you won’t run out of adventure. My boyfriend and I are without a doubt planning on coming back to explore the Paxton lodge some more. Charley and staff was great, and there was so many cute, friendly dogs too that we had the pleasure of meeting. The perfect cabin to check into if you’re seeking to unplug from reality for a bit. Lastly, the neighboring town Quincy is super quaint and fun too!

  • The cabins were wonderful and had everything we needed for a cozy weekend in the woods! There are great hiking trails all around and our dog loved exploring down by the river. We'll definitely be back!

  • An amazing place to spend the weekend! A good get away out of the city. I enjoy the most the fact the phones have no reception. Good way to spend time with your love once, read a book, or just enjoy the outdoor.

  • This place is such a gem! I would love to return someday. It’s truly the cutest little cabin and Soo perfectly nestled in its gorgeous natural surroundings. We went hiking and sat by the feather river to take in the healing effects of nature. The cabin had everything we needed including a beautiful shower inlaid with stones that seemed to have come from near the river. My soul feels cleansed and renewed. It was the perfect way to spend New Years. Thank you Charley for offering these cabins!

    Christine2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed here with our dog. It was so much more than we expected this place to be, we had so much at our fingertips. We enjoyed using the grill and sitting by the fire pit playing games. I loved waking up in the morning and heading down to the river and exploring all that it had, we were surprised to see petrified wood! It was such a relaxing place and filled us with so much excitement and our puppy loved all the smells and fun places to explore. There is so much growth happening in Paxton, we are excited to come back and explore more!

  • I booked my stay with Paxton Lodge - The Todd Cabin (Named after Todd who built the cabin haha) This cabin is perfect for a couple or a small group of friends. The cabin is tucked away in a beautiful forest by the cascading rivers. Not to mention you can still hear the trains passing through. How cool is that!! The cabin was really inviting and cozy. There were plenty of fresh towels, pillows, clean linens, and even small toiletries in case you left your shampoo and lotion at home. The shower is a bit small, but awesome cause the hot water runs fantastic !!! (I wasn’t sure if it would only because the cabin is older but pleasantly surprised) The kitchen was fully stocked with plenty of pots, cups, utensils, a coffee maker, microwave, stove, fridge, freezer and bbq grill outside with all of the bbq supplies. Highly recommend you bring some steaks, casseroles, veggies to grill and burgers. It’s nice to cook your meals while you stay. The outdoor bbq area is private to the cabin so you can enjoy your own conversations and cook at your own pace. The 360 views were amazing. You can’t beat the hike at Cascade Trails. It’s a pretty easy 3 mile hike (6 miles in total) I suggest to take a light backpack with water and some snacks. It’s very well kept so it’s good for beginners and kids and even pets. There is no WIFI or TV, but that’s why I chose to stay here. It’s nice to deplug from everything. If you must I suggest to download episodes of your shows and watch it that way. Otherwise hop into town and visit the Quintopia Brewery. Such a gem on the main strip of town. They serve great seasonal drinks, you can order a beer flight or grab a bite to eat. Charley and the owners of the property are soooo nice and I would highly recommend everyone visit this small, cute town of Paxton and the Paxton Lodge. So much history and charm. Loved this much needed relaxing trip.

  • The Todd was wonderful. A nice roomy cabin with a full kitchen and bath. A nice quiet location in a beautiful location. Just a short walk to the river. Charley was a great host. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Charley was a wonderful host. We had a great time at the cabin and exploring the surrounding areas - Lake Almanor and Buck's Lake. Very dog-friendly and cozy.

    Maria2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was just amazing!! The cabin was warm and cozy. We enjoyed playing outside, hanging out at the beach, stargazing and talking with Charley and the Lodge family. They were so welcoming and we had a great time with them. Our two teenagers who were not very excited about "No TV, No Wi-Fi vacation" before the trip are now saying they want to come back to Paxton Lodge again! Wonderful trip to start the new year!

    Ryoko2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Charley was super accommodating and the cabin was very clean!! His dog, Baby greeted us and was so sweet! The location was so beautiful and secluded. The train was not at all too loud and we were excited to hear it pass. We will definitely be back! A great value and a lovely stay!

    Elizabeth2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Todd was awesome. We had such a lovely getaway! Charley was very nice and met us after it was dark to guide us to the correct cabin. We will definitely be staying again.

  • Charlie and Baby were waiting to greet us. Great getaway from the city. We loved our stay at the cabin ll, very cozy and Charlie is an excellent host, very nice and friendly. We like the simplicity, the silence and the nature, our walks to the river and train tracks. No WiFi and no TV makes it a perfect time to relax, read a book, and have quality time. Nice and quiet nights. You will have a pit and propane bbq, complementary earplugs (we did not need it). We will definitely be coming back!!

  • The cabin is clean, cozy, and a great price for the location.

    Kelsey2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute cabin as described. Check in was very easy and Charley was there to host us. Comfortable bed, clean living space and nice bathroom. We are used to cooking outside so not having a kitchen was OK. Be sure to bring all your own cooking equipment, pots, pans bowls etc. The cabin is on the grounds of the Paxton Lodge there’s lots to do in the area and is a short trip to Quincy.

    Kelli2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed this beautiful cabin! It’s a must stay. We are from Alaska so we love remote places like these with peace and quite and a river. The doggo really enjoyed the river walk.

  • My boyfriend and I love this place more than any other airbnb. As a born and raised local, this has always been my favorite property in the area. We stayed 3 weeks and had every amenity needed for a extended stay. It's perfect as a weekend get away if your tired of the grind. Hard to get much signal but good enough Wi-Fi for calling and streaming if you cant fully unplug. We highly value privacy so this is perfect. Even when the main house was occupied we didn't feel encroached on. Nothing in sight but forest and a stream. Keep the window cracked and you can here the creek all day.If you are a fisherman like my boyfriend this place is heaven. If not,you can pan for gold instead. My hosts were just as great and always eager to help and responded quickly. I live 25 minutes away and already want to go back!

    Danielle2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was so sweet and just what we needed for a quick get away. It was affordable, cozy and beautiful.

    Bailee2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in Ryan & Denise’s cabin. The place was clean, quaint, and had everything we needed for our one night stay. The river was beautiful right next to the cabin and the place was easy to find with instructions provided and close to town. The loft was a little hard to get to, fold out couch was comfortable for the night and extra sheets were provided. Wish we could have stayed longer to explore the property during daylight. Would recommend to others. Note there is another house on the property that you walk by to reach the cabin.

    Charles2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely the best place to stay in all of Susanville, clean beautiful scenery and Ryan responds quickly if you have any questions, couldn’t ask for a better host, Ron and Kitty

  • Can’t go wrong with this place. Super cozy/cute/clean. Owners are helpful & responsive.

    Jessica2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great space! Our experience: we arrived after dark (DLS had ended), which made it difficult because there were not many outdoor lights on. But once we got to the cabin (not to be confused with the cottage) we were good. The cabin is a comfy in-laws quarters with a big main room for kitchenette/den/fold-out couch. Smart lock was a bit sticky maybe because of the cold. Internet was fine, but the router is in the cottage, so we needed to go in to it to reset and get access. Pretty quiet, rural neighborhood that is right off the beaten path and a great stop when you want to explore the area.

The pond was frozen over this last visit. My grandson comes and we sit by the fire , play games, walk the property, Throw rocks in the river ( his favorite) I love the sounds of it at night. • Charming and beautiful private room set in a quiet neighborhood in a forest. Zoe was incredibly kind and helpful.

  • Zoe and Mike were wonderful hosts with a beautiful home. They were flexible, kind, and very thoughtful. The room itself was clean and comfortable with a large bathroom and tub. If we're ever in the area of Graeagle again, we'd definitely want to come back here!

  • We really enjoyed our time at the Hummingbird Suite! Very clean, lots of amenities and nice touches, and a beautiful setting.

    Dan2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Zoe and Mike”s Airbnb is the perfect location in Graeagle! Check in and communication was easy! They have thought of everything as well! The kitchenette was stocked and very helpful for us to make simple meals in the room when we chose not to dine out as well as snacks that they provide. There isn’t a microwave however but the hot plate and toaster oven worked just fine for our use. Zoe was very helpful with recommendations for dining, hikes to go on, places to see while we were there, even had a map with all the trails, lakes etc for us to use! The private space was immaculate and comfortable. The jetted tub was a nice plus but we actually didn’t make any time to use it! Maybe on our next visit, we would definitely stay here again! Thanks for an awesome experience, we would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Graeagle or any of the surrounding towns!

    Connie2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a wedding and had such a nice time. The jacuzzi is very relaxing after a long day. The kitchenette is well outfitted and the room is just overall a great size with an awesome king size sleep number bed. Couldn’t be happier with our stay!

    Kayla2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place in Westwood. The kitchen was nice and there are plenty of cooking pots and pans. There is also a cutting board. The sink does not have a garbage disposal. The stove top gets a bit hot as it is a pilot lit stove. The bed was comfortable with plenty of extra blankets and pillows in the bedroom cabinets. All in all I enjoyed my stay. There are active train tracks close by and I wouldn't have minded them so much if I didnt have to wake up super early.

    Salvador2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Its a bit small, but it was perfect for 2 adults and a child, could even have a second child and be comfortable.

Winter discounts: Stays of 3 nights, 15% off and 4+nights, 20% off Please indicate how many guests are in your party & be aware that if there are more than 2 guests, there is an additional guest fee. Creekside is located in the Sierra Nevadas, along Highway 70. It is 2.5 miles from East Quincy and 6 miles from downtown Quincy. I think you will find the home a welcoming place to relax. This home, where I grew up, is surrounded by the Plumas National Forest. And it is actually one of the most economical places to stay in town, for this is a town where a spartan motel room costs about $85. WHAT CREEKSIDE HAS: A friendly creek that runs year-round and also runs right past your back deck. It has deer and foxes and turkeys and squirrels and wonderful songbirds and, yes, there’s even a chance you’ll see a California black bear but, in fact, it isn’t likely. In the 6 years I’ve been hosting, only 1 guest has seen a bear. I want you to know it’s possible but unlikely, in case you’re fearful. FYI: A California black bear’s behavioral traits are NOTHING like a grizzly bear's!! And there are no grizzly bears in California. WHAT CREEKSIDE DOES NOT HAVE: These are stumbling blocks for some guests, so I want to be clear: 1)It doesn’t have television reception. 2)The internet is not unlimited. By this I mean, there is a data cap. If this worries you, we can discuss how the cap works and what it means as far as being online. Basically it means there is no video streaming. I very much enjoy hosting and would enjoy hosting you! I just want all potential guests to be aware of the two technological disadvantages of my little spot of heaven. I hope to have the internet cap lifted but the electric company has been promising that it would happen for 4 years now. Every time I call they say, “We hope it will happen in the next 5 or 6 months.” So, for your entertainment there are games to play and there are movies to watch on the dvd player and there is a creek to sooth you and animals to look for. I hope that’s enough for you to choose to stay “Creekside”.
Your only neighbor will be me and the wildlife! The property is surrounded on three sides by Plumas National Forest and is quite peaceful yet only 2 miles from East Quincy and 6 from downtown Quincy.
  • I was visiting Quincy for a job interview and needed somewhere convenient for two days. Barbara’s unique home was the perfect place. It has all kinds of interesting touches which make it a very pleasant rental. It’s located among the trees by a beautiful creek. Today it began snowing before I left, and it was a winter wonderland! I will definitely stay with Barbara again if I am in the area. Thanks, Barbara, for sharing your childhood home!

    Mary2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great stay at Creekside! It’s a great, very comfy spot. I’m only sorry our stay was only for one night - next time, we’ll make a weekend out of it! Thanks for everything, Barbara!

  • Bárbara is an excellent host and her home is amazingly peaceful and quiet. The house has pretty much anything we could need from games and music to different types of coffee to binoculars. It was all very clean and tidy, we were impressed about it. All sorts of maps to explore the surrounding, appliances and food. We felt like home and can’t wait to come back in summer time.

Small pets may be allowed on a case by case basis. Please, no animals on the furniture. Contact host for approval.

  • I definitely recommend staying here! Linda is such a gracious host and her place is incredibly well located and is basically at the gateway to all the trails, kayaking, etc. She knows the trails very well and is a wealth of information ... the studio itself is really nice and cozy and quiet and we felt right at home ... she even provided coffee and drinks and really everything else you could need for your stay. We enjoyed it very much. Thank you!

Camping mini-cabins we offer are a step up from tent camping, offering basic shelter without the hassle of setting up a tent. This listing is for a cabin we call "Definitely Not the Ritz" and features 3 beds with only a bottom sheet that sleep 4. There's a small nightstand a couple chairs, that's it. This is *almost roughing it*, but we won't spoil your stories if you tell your friends you actually were roughing it. Sleeping bags/blankets, towels and other toiletries are guest's responsibility
The shower and bathrooms for this listing are shared with the other camping cabin guests and the tent campers. It's in a common building about 100 feet away. A coin operated laundry and game room with pool table, ping pong and arcade games is steps away. There is a 5000' runway nearby that allows for convenient fly-in access to our location from virtually anywhere.
The view of the lake from the front of the park is great, but access to the lake is either a few minutes north if you're launching a boat, or about 30 minutes to the south if you want to swim in the lake from a beach as the only beach on the lake is at the south end. Beach parking is free, but the marina parking is $6 four our guests after the discount we've negotiated from the usual $8.
  • Great place. Would definitely stay there again. The convenience of the bathroom and showers was fantastic. The hosts were outstanding.

  • I can’t say much because we just needed a place to crash on our way to Crater Lake. Arrived at 10:30 pm left at 7:45 am the next day. The cabin was nice because we didn’t want to have to set up a tent late at night. Shower was hot, bathrooms clean. Beautiful area but we were not there long enough to have much of an experience to share. Frankie was super helpful and the store staff was friendly.

    Charlene2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Like Frankie says - it is camping without the tent. Basic but comfy. Had a nice steak grilled on the provided fire-grill. Enjoyed the sunset and the quiet. Thanks!

The Lake Davis Lake House is a peaceful place nestled in the trees with a 5 minute walk to the lake. Relax on either the front or back decks or warm up by the fire pit. Watch movies and eat popcorn and candy provided in the movie center. We are located 1 hour from Reno or Truckee, 2 1/2 hours from Sacramento. There is a 10 minute drive to Grizzly Ranch Golf Course. Take a 3 minute walk to J&J Grizzly Store and get an ice cream cone or get those forgotten items.
Other things to note: 1. We have games for the family to play, movies for parents and children, and snacks to eat while watching. 2. This is a great place for fishing, hiking, swimming, mountain biking, kayaking, wild life viewing, snow shoeing, and cross county skiing.
Our neighborhood is quiet and friendly.
  • The cabin was amazing and it was a wonderfully relaxing vacation. We will definitely be coming back!

    Samantha2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Louis and June’s cabin. We were there with our two small kids, who both loved it. The cabin was spotless, and easy to get into. The kitchen was nice, and the master bath was just as good as the pictures look. We had a couple questions before we left, and they responded to my email right away. They knew we were looking to have some fun with the kids in the snow, and there was even a snow sled waiting for us outside the front door. Everything in the cabin worked, and there were zero issues/concerns during our stay. There are two things that are important for an Airbnb post- the space and the host, and both were great. I would highly recommend this listing to anyone looking to stay in the area! Ben

    Benjamin2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house and impeccably clean. I would definitely stay here again.

    Dan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend getaway! Cabin was close to the lake and neighborhood was beautiful and very quiet. The cabin was well maintained and very clean - and being able to bring our dogs was great! Wonderful selection of games and movies. It says it in the description, but not having WiFi and cell service was slightly inconvenient. It is just a short drive to get cell service if you need it, and overall is was nice to have a break from our screens!

    Lauren2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best Airbnb experiences. The cabin was a perfect for a getaway for some alone time in nature. The lake is gorgeous! We came here the week before Christmas. Even though Verizon showed LTE coverage around the lake, there was no service at the actual cabin. This was a bonus since we were able to spend quality time with each other instead of being on the phones. The house was equipped with everything you might need. Kitchen had all necessities for preparing/cooking meals. Lots of towels and a washer and dryer, which was nice to dry our clothing after hikes out on the snow. We received house code well in advanced, and hosts responded to all our questions. Definitely, will come out again if we get the opportunity next year.

    Paul2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful decor, cozy, and nice little added touches to make out stay feel like home with the stress. Kitchen was perfect to cook and have our Thanksgiving dinner. Movie selection and surround sound made our movie nights a hit. We loved it and can't wait to make another visit.

  • Great cozy, well appointed cabin in the woods close to Lake Davis. It would be great in summer or winter. Great for families or couples with nice layout with a great master bath and bedroom on second floor. We had a great stay with our dog and enjoyed easy hiking on roads throughout the area and in the lake-side areas.

  • Jennifer's home exceeded expectations! It' such a beautiful area and a perfect cozy home. We stopped in on a road trip between Death Valley and our house in Oregon-- if we would have known what an awesome area it was and what a wonderful home we would be staying at-- we would have planned a longer stay! The luxurious soak in the claw-foot tub was a definite highlight and we loved all of the country/vintage style decor that made it clear that it was such a loved space. We plan to return over the summer to enjoy the area and the space more thoroughly!

This charming little studio cabin is located in the popular Hamilton Branch area of Lake Almanor, CA. Enjoy everything Lake Almanor has to offer which includes boating, fishing, kayaking, biking, motorcycle riding or hiking. We are also short drive to Lassen Volcanic National Park too.
This cute little casita is equipped with a queen bed, linens and all the essentials you will need for a nice get away. It will sleep 1-2 adults comfortably. The casita is close to fishing, kayaking, hiking, restaurants, bike trails or if you prefer just relax, barbecue and revel in the surroundings. It sits across the street from the lake giving you wonderful views the osprey flying about, the lake and the mountains from the deck.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at Renee & Tyler's casita. As others have said, it is small, but very clean and well appointed. We loved sitting on the front porch in the mornings, drinking our coffee and looking out over the lake. It was quiet, peaceful, and we would definitely stay there again.

    Ann2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • It is a small space but everything you need is right there. And if there is anything you do need extra, Renee and Tyler will do everything they can to accommodate your needs.

    Joan2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a golden nugget of a place situated on a hill looking down at the lake. You can enjoy morning and evening meals on the deck watching Mr. and Mrs. Osprey hunting for their chicks. The casita is situated perfectly to watch the sunlight playing on the lake when the afternoon breeze kicks up. It is tiny and clean with sink, small fridge and microwave, and tiny adequate bathroom while cooking happens on the deck's grill. Wonderful getaway and great possibilities for exploring Lassen or enjoying the lake. Enjoy this gem!

    Noelani2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for your hospitality, Renee and Tyler! Tyler promptly came to the rescue when the plumbing misbehaved - much appreciated. Breakfast on the porch and stargazing in the yard were highlights!

    Helsa2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The little casita was beautifully decorated and organized upon arrival and packed with everything we needed! The outdoor space was our favorite part, it made the place feel more spacious and was a peaceful place to relax in the evenings. Renee responded super fast about arrival and checkout. Though she left us to do our own thing, but I think she could be really helpful for guests with more questions about the place and the area! The attention to detail was evident, they even left coffee, tea, and granola bars for us :) Highly recommend!

    Jadyn2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • The CASITA has a fabulous view and cool breeze from lake Almanor. Early check in time and many amenities. The bed was extremely comfortable. Great location with lots of local activities.

    Kathy2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cabin. The property is located in a superb spot with phenomenal views and few neighbors. The drive to Mt Lassen is pretty short and makes for the perfect spot to stay. The cabin is super clean and you can tell attention to detail was paid in every regard. We will be back!

    Todd2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Renee & Tyler provide many amenities in this tiny home away from home. They came to welcome us and show us around the casita and deck and gave us great tips about restaurants, etc.

Ideal for a couple. Queen bed with additional sleeping available if needed (single sleeper sofa, airbeds and foam mattresses). Fully equipped kitchen with fridge, stovetop, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, dishes etc. Sheets and towels provided. Friendly, clean dogs considered. 3 miles from Graeagle.
The Bear Den is a studio apartment above our detached garage and is very private.
The Bear Den is situated on 10 acres with a seasonal creek. You can hike or snowshoe from the front porch. Tucked away and private yet close to the town of Graeagle for shopping and golf. Lakes Basin is a stone's throw away for hiking, biking and skiing.
  • This little nook of a cabin is perfect for 2-3 days of rest and adventure in the "Lost Sierra". We loved that all the skylights reveal glimpses of the pine trees, and that the little balcony gazes out onto the woods as well. There's even a hiking trail that extends down the hill behind the house, in addition to the many options at nearby Plumas Eureka State Park.

  • Great place. Quiet, comfortable, and extra clean. Well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches. You look out to trees from the large windows and five skylights, but you're close to good restaurants and things to do. We'll be back.

  • One of the nicest studio apartments I have ever stayed in. Spotless, spacious, and comfortable. Back off the main road in the woods so very quiet yet still very convenient to the entire area.

  • This was really an outstanding accommodation - quiet, cozy and peaceful! Kimberly and Phil were very kind and also available if needed, but I really enjoyed the peace and quiet that this little Bear Den offered. The bed was comfortable and the kitchenette well supplied. I didn’t want to leave!

  • Highly suggested! Beautiful spot!

  • Beautiful space to get away in the trees of the Sierra. Very neat, nicely decorated with attention to detail. The upper level positioning of the room made you feel like you were in a treehouse. The queen bed was nice and firm- much appreciated. Host was very attentive if there was any needs. Overall, highly recommended!

  • The Cozy Bear Den is just as cozy as advertised. Spent a great week exploring the amazing surroundings using the den as our base. Could not recommend it more highly. Excellent value, excellent accomodations. Sad we had to leave.

The cabin is situated right on the Feather River just 10 miles from Quincy. Spend your days swimming/floating on the river and your nights around a campfire under the stars. Close to the Pacific Crest Trail, lakes, golf, restaurants, shopping, etc. Great for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). We are a pet-friendly property, but all pets must be disclosed and approved before booking is approved.
Perfect getaway spot for couples or families that love nature. The property has incredible swimming holes, campfire pit, horseshoe pit, riverfront stone patios, fishing, and more. When you arrive, there is no need to go anywhere else.
The property is on the river and the closest neighbor is 1/2 mile away.
  • Russell's cabin on the river was amazing. We arrived late at night and found it easily based on very accurate directions. Check in and out was super easy, too. The cabin is so cute! It has a casual, cozy and comfortable feel. It was Winter and the cabin was warm when we arrived, which we really appreciated. Everything was spotless. The kitchen pantry was stocked with spices and other pantry items, which we really appreciated even though we only used a few spices. There are all sorts of charming rustic touches which were fitting for the area and everything in the cabin felt intentional. The cabin is stocked with matching dishes and glassware, nice sets of bowls for serving, etc. The bed was comfortable as was the nice leather couch and we enjoyed watching movies which were there for us to use. When we stepped outside in the morning, we were so happy! The property is set right on the river and is very large and so very beautiful and peaceful! Russell has done a great job making the structures on the property fit right in with nature. We enjoyed checking out all the ways they used driftwood, which were turned into eclectic art structures, railings, etc. all around the property. There are nice pathways set into the hill down to the beach alongside the river and there beautifully colored rocks galore. We enjoyed hanging out on the sandy beach next to the fire pit, soaking in the beautiful views. There is a train which comes by every once in a while and it was also a highlight! While the location feels super remote, groceries and eateries in Quincy are only 15 or so minutes away. We will be back! Thanks, Russell!!!

  • Wonderful location that is truly a hidden gem. There is opportunity to be as active or lazy as you want to be. Russell is extremely inviting and helpful for anything needed. The cabin is loaded with great things not mentioned in the description, really there are too many great things to possibly list. There are so many things to do at the property or in the surrounding areas to satisfy anyone. We hope to be back sooner than later.

Built In 1926, the Hough House used to be the warehouse for the village store until we renovated it in 2019. I love the high timber ceilings and great views of Mount Hough, especially when it has snow. The house is in the village of Crescent Mills (200 people) at an elevation of 3500' and looks to the mountains at around 7,200'. It is perfect for a weekend getaway to the mountains and is conveniently located behind Gigi's market, a popular cafe and coffee shop.
The house has a large main room with 13' timber ceilings with two bedrooms, each with their own new bathroom. The kitchen is huge and the breakfast bar and bar stools came from the old hotel next door. I like how it combines the rustic feeling of old timber with the convenience of modernity. The living room has a massive 8' x 8' window looking out on Indian Valley and the Mt Hough.
Crescent Mills has a golf course. Taylorsville (10 mins) has a rodeo and museum and swimming pool. You can go shopping in Greenville (6 min) or Quincy (17 mins). Lake Almanor (20 mins) is fun for water sports and Mount Lassen Park (45 mins) has geysers and volcanoes. The apartment is behind Gigi’s Market which is a popular cafe and coffee shop and across the road from Crescent antiques. Hiking and biking are great. From the house you can walk up the hill and find old gold mines, or drive up Mt Hough and go mountain biking or visit Crystal Lake (the most beautiful place I have ever visited).
  • This was a very comfortable spot. Wish we had been able to stay a little longer.

    Stephen2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in the middle of the "Lost Sierras" in plumas county. Right behind hold hotel and local sandwich hangout. Beautiful location for relaxing stay. Hikes and scenery in all directions. 4mi to full grocery store in Greenville, 7mi to local gourmet market in Taylorsville, 20 min to county seat at Quincy.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Hough House! The cabin was cozy once the fire was going, and the surrounding area is beautiful. Ginger and Tommy at the deli next to the cabin were very friendly and helpful, and their smoked meat was incredible. We hope to come back again soon!

  • We stayed three nights and had a wonderful time. The house is very cosy and well equipped, there is everything you need for cooking, which we really appreciated! Next door there is Gigi's Market, a café that serves ribs and brisket who's owners are super welcoming. We spent a lot of time there just chilling and chatting. There is a nice hike to a lake starting right in front of the door.

Adorable A-frame cabin tucked into the hills of the Lake Almanor Peninsula. The lake is a 10 minute walk or 5 minute drive, along with several restaurants, a market, coffee shop, boat and watercraft rentals.
This beautiful cabin has been in our family for nearly 3 decades. It's made entirely of knotty pine, and has a warm, friendly decor. The loft space above has a day-bed for additional guests, or can be used as a work space. Queen sized beds in both rooms and plenty of additional bedding. Our fully furnished kitchen should appease even the most discerning cooks. The cabin also has a large outdoor deck, which provides an excellent setting for evening dinners during warm summer nights.

  • Lori’s place is very quaint, quiet, warm, refreshing, beautiful, charming and delightful place! The location is beautiful, private and a very short walk to the river beach front on site! Lori is very sweet, accommodating, welcoming and helpful. We booked this place for our anniversary and she went out of her way to make sure our stay amazing, warm and peaceful. She recommended very yummy places to dine and even shared her homemade soup with us!! A must stay for two and we look forward to returning to Lori’s place soon!

  • Wow wow wow!! We were SO pleased and impressed with Lori’s casita by the river! She was by far the best air bnb host we’ve had in the states, hands down. Coming down the private drive way to the end, you see 2 cottages right on the river. It’s new, thoughtfully decorated, and has a cute claw foot tub. Lori has suggestions about what to do in the area and definitely did not disappoint! We hung out in Quincy nearby and the locals were all super nice. Definitely check out the wine bar, Moon for dinner, and Patti’s Thunder Cafe for lunch. Highly recommend Lori’s spot!
