Places to stay in Jersey City
Downtown, the best bit of Manhattan. One of, if not the, LARGEST space on Airbnb in NYC. Your Own PRIVATE Bathroom & PRIVATE Bedroom, a Terrace off the bedroom, near to subways/buses, restaurants, bars, real luxury right in the middle of things. Just read our 500+ 5-STAR REVIEWS and you will see why we are SUPER-HOSTS and why you will just love this place, like other guests, I promise. Si, hablo bien espanol, Français parlé assez bien.
Downtown Manhattan, .. just like you see it in the films. Only so much better in real life !! All the details are below so that will see all that you will experience on your trip to the Big Apple - there are lots of things you will love when you stay here, but PLEASE PLEASE (did I say please?) try to read all the way to the end of the description, including sleeping arrangements, information on the area, getting around and the frequently asked questions. I know it is a bit of a novel, but it is well worth it and, from experience, it makes sure you understand everything in detail and ensures you will have the best stay that you can. Anything at all that you are not sure about, if you are new to Airbnb for example, just ask and I will get back asap and clarify. • Very spacious loft apartment ( about 2000 sq feet, 188 sq m, at last measure - so very BIG for New York) in the center of arguably the coolest area of the city (please do not argue ), modern, minimalist furniture , very open, very clean, I take great pride in having a spotless living environment (that goes for the host too). A Massive space that gets flooded with light via a wall of windows. Just take a look at the pictures. High security. Walking distance to subways & museums. Friendly building and very safe neighborhood. • Your own PRIVATE bathroom - Large, spacious, with Jacuzzi Bath, Shower, Hairdryer, Kohler fixtures. Fresh towels etc. Fully-stocked. All the shampoo and things you will ever need. Just for you. • Your own PRIVATE bedroom - Queen Bed for 2, firm and soft pillows for every type of sleeper, linens, towels, Large Flat Screen TV, Netflix, Amazon TV etc, Wardrobe. Again only for you. • Large kitchen - Open concept with an area to eat and with everything you need to design a gourmet feast, top of the line GE appliances, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle , Dishwasher, stainless steel counter top etc. Make any food you want - if it is really good, give me some. Make coffee there in the morning - always available -- you have your very own little coffee bar. • Very large living area, Real Fireplace, WiFi, Surround sound HDTV with HDMI hook-up and Roku TV, Bose sound system with iPhone/iPod hook-up, the best choice in music (in my opinion, most not consulted). Sit.... Enjoy • Large dining area - seats lots, great views over the city and over the Williamsburg Bridge. Eat foods mentioned above (probably while seated, although one can never be sure). • Natural brick walls (as opposed to unnatural I suppose) and a lovely Merbeau wooden floor, both of which look good (but don't say much). • Floor to ceiling windows throughout - bathed in sun (when the sun is out, mainly, of course) • Outside secluded seating area and balcony - you access directly from your room - very secluded (sometimes I cannot find it) • Full air conditioning / heating in the room and in rest of loft - be hot, be cool (most likely one at a time) • Bosch Washer and Dryer - for you to use - we like to reserve that for guests who stay for 3 nights or longer - being kind to the world too, we try to use cold water as well where possible. • Keyed Private elevator entrance directly into Loft - of course you have your own key (or stairs if u have the energy - does not seem so popular, strangely) • Printer / Scanner available. Pens and paper too, if you are a traditionalist.(although we draw the line at camel hair brushes, I'm sure you understand). And there is a universal power adapter for you to use to charge your gadgets too. • The building is a very smart development, a recently renovated 7-story apartment block with original brick facade, great views of the city skyline. Quiet, lovely, village feel, with parks and pedestrian areas just outside, but close enough to get anywhere very easily. I think I am allowed to say it is authentic. • This is a very large and comfortable space that you will be free to enjoy as you wish (this is your vacation after all). You will have lots of privacy and as well as the city, you have Books, Music (great as mentioned above), Roku TV with lots of channels and an online DVR and more .... or just relax and chat. Up to you. We provide the following publications too New York Times New York Magazine so you can feel a bit like a New Yorker • Located in the heart of Downtown - food (some of the best in the city), drink, fun, shopping all very, very close. A very cool residential neighborhood just a short trip to all the action. Perfect location for exploring both sides of the river too, as very close to Brooklyn and Williamsburg. One of the most historic neighborhoods in the U.S. (perhaps the most). We are only a few minutes away from the walkway along the East River, it has a great view of the Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan Bridge. Nearly opposite the Tenement Museum (which is really great). TV, Film and general interest media all the time (become a star - or an extra anyway) ,music clubs and comedy left right and center and Alphabet City, Ludlow Street , East Village, Chinatown and Soho all in spitting distance - and I can not spit far. Direct Access to cabs just outside building. • Food shopping wise, it is 3 blocks from a Whole Foods, the largest Trader Joe's on the east coast and few blocks from the new Essex Street Market. Great food shopping if you want. I hope everything is covered - email if you need more information. I hope to see you soon and I hope I can be part of your visit to this unique place.
Best neighborhood in Manhattan for independent coffee shops, cozy wine bars, up-and-coming restaurants (the area has 4 out of the top 10 best places to eat in this years NY magazine list) , intimate music venues, and interesting owner-operated shops. Like no other area in the city. A very peaceful cool neighborhood, yet just a short trip to all the action. Check out the "Guidebook" with my listing -- I send a much longer one that I have written directly to guests that do decide to stay before they get here - and they love it, mention it often in their reviews and keep asking for extra copies!!
  • I had an amazing stay at Carol and Marc’s place. I felt like I was at home or staying with relatives. That’s how comfortable and welcoming they were. The place was as described. Lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distance, very clean. Carol and Marc made great suggestions for breakfast and dinner. They went above and beyond what was expected of them. The bed was so comfortable. I wish the weather was nicer so we could have taken advantage of the terrace (next time). I highly recommend Carol and Marc’s place. This is the place you want to stay when visiting New York. Everything you can think of is just outside there door.

  • This is a large, clean and comfortable 3rd floor apartment with keyed elevator. Felt completely safe walking around at night. Very quiet street. Just 3 blocks to metro and trains taking you uptown. Great coffee shops and lots of cultures and cuisines to explore nearby. The hosts know every nook and cranny of the lower east side, so ask for their recommendations. Would stay there again.

  • We really enjoyed our stay with Marc and Carol. They both are delightful hosts and had so many suggestions for us first timers to NYC. We were given a guide ahead of time of so many things to do, places to see, and places to eat. Check in was super easy and a bit early, which didn’t seem to be a problem at all this particular day. Marc gave a short tutorial showing us how to get in the building and how to use the elevator. It was great not to have to navigate stairs with suitcases. The apartment was spacious and spotless and we had access to everything we needed. Having shampoo, conditioner, and body wash already there for us to use was nice. Especially since you don’t have to pack it in your suitcase, which makes it a bit lighter for the airport. We didn’t use the kitchen much as we didn’t want to cook for ourselves, but it seemed to have everything you’d need if you did decide to cook. The internet was great and there were lots of choices for tv streaming services. After a long day of walking outside in the cold, it was nice to get back, curl up on the sofa with lots of pillows, have a nice fire in the fireplace, and watch a little tv. Only bad thing was that we didn’t have enough time to see and do all the things we wanted. Well, that means we’ll need to come back and we will have this fantastic place to stay!

  • Great place to stay! Carol and Mark are very nice and very welcoming. I love the location to be able to walk everywhere. Again, I highly recommend this as a great place to stay.

    William2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is AMAZING - the pictures don’t do it justice (the tub is a jacuzzi!)!! Carol and Marc were consummate hosts, their hospitality generous without being intrusive. The location is so close to the subway, we were able to easily travel throughout the city with no trouble at all, and the area was and felt safe at all times. We can’t wait to return to the city and spend more time there!!! Thank you 😊

    Kelly2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ahhhhh :) what an amazing way to experience NYC. Firstly entering the apartment via an elevator set the mood immediately for the most new yorky stay ever! The apartment is amazing, all the beds all comfy, the shower lush, and the location brilliant. So much quieter than staying Central, which we loved. But not far away from anything! Close to subway and bus stops. And if you are tired (or have tired kids who don’t want to walk after you’ve been to the theatre) an Uber doesn’t break the bank to here either. Marc is just the sweetest gentleman and Carol is just lovely. Felt safe, felt welcome. Thank you guys :) I hope our paths cross again. Big loves xx

  • My girlfriend and I stayed here for a Valentine’s Day trip and it was absolutely wonderful. Marc and Carol are very kind and accommodating hosts to stay with. I highly recommend this place. It was very clean, communication was great, and it was overall a lovely experience in great area. We hope to stay with Marc and Carol again soon. 💛

  • Jeffery was such a charming person to be with. He makes you feel welcomed and gives you all the attention you need. He makes great breakfast with excellent coffee. It was like staying at my friends place. He gave me tips around the area and I was traveling solo but I never felt lonely. Thank you Jeffery. I loved having conversation with you!

    Keiko2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Another great stay at Jeffreys! He always goes out of his way to make my stay comfortable and easy! I love his cute boho apartment! Always inspires me with interior design ideas! Such a thoughtful book of tips and tricks left and so many great recommendations for travel, local food and activities. I thoroughly recommend you stay at Jeffreys, you will not regret it!

    Lucie2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey is hands down the best host. I will never stay anywhere in NYC but this place. I will be recommending this place to everyone I know.

    Danielle2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff is a wonderful host, who pays attention to details and is really dedicated to making you feel home! I really enjoyed talking with him, and he is full of nice tips for your trip in New York. His apartment is also very well located, Times Square is less than a 15 minutes walk away. On the whole, a great experience!

    Vera2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • All around excellent. Jeffrey treats his guests as if they’re old friends. A great conversationalist, he feeds you, he even let me borrow a shirt so I wouldn’t be cold walking around the city. A very genuine, down-to-earth, and caring human being. His apartment is cozy and centrally located. Highly recommended.

    Nicholas2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey was out of town but made it so easy to check in and out, and frequently checked in. The location was perfect and his apartment makes you feel like you really live in NYC! It was so cool and the bar next door is awesome. I'll definitely stay again next time I'm in the city. Thanks Jeffrey!

    Zalika2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying at Jeffrey's place. It's an older, what I'd call "classic" Hell's Kitchen apartment that's thoughtfully and lovingly inhabited by it's owner (who I didn't get to meet because he was out of town). Jeffrey's kindness was evident in his communication and in the vibe of his place. I'll be back soon!

This is a comfortable studio apartment with exposed brick that has a true city feeling. This studio has a newly renovate bathroom and kitchen with stain steel appliances. The space fits four and is centrally located on a Historic quiet street. This unit is loaded with cable and wifi. Just blocks away from public transportation A and G train lines. And minutes away from the bus route B25 B26 and the B44. Come and explore the charm of Bed-Stuy and all the Historic's. I love this neighborhood. !
This historic section of Brooklyn is home to some of the most magnificent brownstones streets in the world, with charming architectural landmarks. There so many new restaurants and bars popping up in the area such as Peaches,Hot house,Royals, Saraghina, and Gallery.
  • This was our first time staying in the Bed-Stuy neighborhood and Michelle's place is the perfect home base. The apartment looks like the photos, the bed is very comfortable, there are toiletries in the bathroom, and utensils for light cooking in the cute little kitchen. Michelle is available to answer your questions, but is not intrusive at all. My husband and I had come in from Cleveland for a long weekend...enjoyed neighborhood restaurants, attended a production at the Metropolitan Opera, ran a 5k in Riverside Park, even shopped for and purchased a sofa from the Joybird showroom in downtown Brooklyn. We'd be happy to stay in Bed-Stuy with Michelle again!!

    Elaine2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle’s place was outstanding to stay at. It’s perfect for just going in and out and it was great for a more authentic stay in the city. We had everything we needed and were able to maneuver very quickly around through the subways nearby.

    Grace2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The location is amazing!!! Only a 10 minute walk to the subways, and everything else you need is right there in the neighborhood from great restaurants, delis, and small bodegas. The place was very clean, and cozy, and convenient, and quiet. Michelle gave us great tips on where to go for the happenings, and checked in with us to make sure we were okay. Everything you read in the reviews is correct. She is the perfect host. I will stay again and again.

    Natalie2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle’s place is amazing. She was more than helpful and her home is in close proximity to the A/C trains and bodegas.

    Avery2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely and cozy stay! The tiny kitchen had most of what we needed and the bed was SO comfortable!

    Maria2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Location was perfect! Michelle was an awesome host!

    Joshua2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle’s place was ideal for our NYC trip for New Year’s Eve. It was about 10 min walk to the train, parking was excellent on the street. The pictures were very accurate, everything was as described. Having a small kitchen really came in handy to avoid eating out every meal. Neighbourhood was good, no complaints. Michelle was there immediately when I messaged her having trouble opening the lockbox, which was greatly appreciated. All in all this was perfect for what we needed and we had no issues.

  • FABULOUS!!! My son and I were in NYC for a 4 day weekend, for a dance audition. Craig was an awesome host, with great communication and recommendations before our trip. He was also very attentive, texting on our arrival to the airport and making sure that we got to the apartment. Michael was wonderful and made us feel very welcome and comfortable, even making us tea on the cool, rainy afternoon that we arrived. He is a Fascinating person, and we really enjoyed our many chats. His welcoming and chill demeanour made us feel like we lived there (honorary locals? ) We loved walking straight out of the elevator into the apartment, which is beautifully appointed, and eclectically decorated. A little zen-like oasis in the heart of NYC. The garden terrace was not open yet, but we still enjoyed it with the door open, and many windows with the beautiful foliage just outside. The bed was very comfortable and our bathroom was gorgeous and quite large. The location was FANTASTIC, close to the subway, Central Park, and numerous restaurants, many of which we enjoyed, with recommendations from Michael. We can’t wait to have the opportunity to visit again. A perfect experience from start to finish. Much Love ❤️

  • We needed to go to NYC for business and found this place on Airbnb , We grew up in Queens and the Bronx worked in Brooklyn for 15 years of our adult lives. I can honestly say, I have found a favorite part of the city for me is right in this apartment! Great restaurants walking distance, great sunlight streaming in the morning. Central Park , and the Cathedral are two of my most favorite places to be both walking distance. I’m almost afraid to give this place a get a review because I want it to be open so I can come back whenever I want. But if you want to live like a New Yorker for a few days this is the place to do it. the subway is right down the block, and you can be anywhere in the city so easy. If I ever run away from my home , just look for me there! And ..... Craig is the best host, life is good!

Our three bedroom loft is just two blocks from the Bedford L stop with easy access to all of Manhattan. The neighborhood is very safe with plenty of restaurants, shops, and bars. There are house plants specifically chosen to purify the air.
This beautiful loft is centrally located in the exciting neighborhood of Williamsburg. The surrounding area is home to a variety of restaurants, bars, music venues and is two blocks from the Bedford L stop. Within 10 minutes you can be in Union Square with access to all Manhattan has to offer. (There is also a ferry that can take you to Wall Street in under 10 minutes, and a car service across the street.) But why go to Manhattan when there is so much nearby! Whether you are looking for fine dining or something more casual, there are many options all within 1-2 blocks. The 50 different house plants, each chosen for its ability to purify air, create an almost garden like feel to this urban oasis. There are three private bedrooms each with their own queen sized bed. Two of the bedrooms have windows but the third bedroom, which is centrally located, does not. In the Summer, each room has its own private air conditioning. Whether you want to be mixing up drinks in the kitchen, sitting down with friends to a meal in the dining room, or gathering in the living room for a movie or board game, there is plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable and happy. This loft provides an exceptional space to enjoy your experience in Williamsburg.

  • Can't beat the location. Right in the middle of Williamsburg on Bedford Avenue. lot of space.

  • Communicated well. The apartment was clean, quiet, love the fact that it's in the heart of bedford. We spent most of our time outside. But coming back to the apartment always felt cozy.

  • Lovely place! Awesome location. I felt like a local in a hip NYC neighborhood.

  • The apartment is in a great location, near cafes and the met. Great base to explore Nee York.

    Anna2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a nice living room! This is an old original flat in the heart of Bedford Avenue, the most vibrant street in Williamsburg. The atmosphere is great and the view on the street as well. The rooms are spacious enough and the flat is well equipped. Internet works well and the access to Manhattan is easy. It is the perfect place to relax after a long day visiting the city. As the flat is old you have to take into account: heating noises overnight (original heating system), neighbors' noises during the day and an overall low level of cleanliness due to the original wood and plaster. That said, great location for a reasonable cost.

    Giulio2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very stylish apartment. Clean. Great shower. There were beers in the fridge, we did leave some in return. Good fast WiFi. Directly in the middle of Williamsburg next to some great bars and restaurants. 4 minutes from the L train which is 3 stops into manhattan, very easy and cheap to use this service, we bought a week pass for $31. The only thing was noise through the day from a nursery upstairs but that was from 9am therefore we were always up and out by then (apart from one hangover day). Ian was very good and quick at communicating which put us at ease when checking in/out. All in all a great place to stay, highly recommended.

    Jenny2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here in Williamsburg. The appartment is very well located and nice to live. We were 5 people and it was perfect. We could have breakfast inside and sometimes dinner. Ian’s instructions were very good, he was also very reactive when I had questions and didn’t hesitate to come over to welcome us. Thanks a lot!

Your large bedroom has a queen size mattress with a memory foam topper that is very comfortable. There's also a full-size air mattress for one extra guest. The room gets a lot of light from the large windows. The curtains and blinds keep it nice and dark at night. You will have access to the shared living room, kitchen, and bathroom. There is wi-fi, an Apple TV, cable TV and everything you need to feel right at home. The bedroom faces a rear courtyard, so street noise is minimal to non-existent. You may hear an occasional garden party. If they get too loud, let me know and I'll take care of it.
The East Village is socially and culturally diverse without being pretentious. New York's immigrant origins, 70s punk scene, and current food renaissance all energetically coexist in the East Village like nowhere else in Manhattan. You can seriously get Michelin-rated sushi or three-dollar PBRs within 50 feet (15 m) of the front door. Its residents, an unlikely mix of businesspeople, artists, laborers, designers, and nomads anachronistically make themselves at home among Old New York's Gilded Age and Pre-war brick-and-stone architectural hand-me-downs. Midtown's steel-and-glass landscape and the West Village's yuppie homogeneity haven't invaded the East Village...yet.
  • Sne is a wonderful host. The room was nice and cozy and very clean. It was also very quiet at night. We got some really useful tips on restaurants and other places to visit in New York. Sne even offered us delicious freshly baked bread. I definitely recommend to stay at Sne's apartment.

  • Just a fantastic place to stay with a wonderfully welcoming host in lower Manhattan. Convenient location , cool neighborhood, stylish, clean and surprisingly quiet room. Sne has truly mastered the art of air bnb hosting. I can't recommend any higher!

    Ruth2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I would stay again with Sne. The place was very close to lots of different subway lines. There was lots of nice places to eat around the East Village. Sne also went above and beyond such as carrying my heavy suitcase up the stairs, and offering me coffee in the morning. The room was lovely and spacious which was such a blessing. I would love to stay again

    Claire2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sne's apartment is clean, sunny and super convenient to getting around the city. More quiet than we expected, despite having with a bar and a coffee shop steps away from the front door. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone wanting to be close to the East Village and NYU, with easy access to the rest of Manhattan and even Brooklyn.

  • Reliable, low cost for New York. The host is very accommodating and has a wicked sense of humor! He has a little booklet filled with tips about the area and NY in general!

    Maria2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sne’s place is absolutely amazing and Sne himself is awesome! The best Airbnb host we’ve ever had. Sne put together an awesome guide to the neighborhood with food recommendations and we had so much fun going on a food crawl around the East Village. He let us check in early, was super helpful and communicative, and was sooo friendly. The only “down” side to this is now we never want to stay anywhere else in New York! I would say this is a good problem to have. We will be back for sure!

    Rebecca2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location. Great coffee. Large room with lots of light.

My place is close to Times Square, the bus stop (on the block), the subway station, Penn Station, and everything Manhattan has to offer. You’ll love my place because of the 20-minute ride to Times Square, the comfy queen-sized bed, the modern renovation, the central heat and air conditioning, and everything the area has to offer. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups.
    Please see above.
Long referred to as New York City's "Sixth Borough" because of the quick ride to Manhattan, there is a ton of stuff to do in Jersey City itself. The house is located in Jersey City Heights, just north of Journal Square, which is a more residential neighborhood, but there are plenty of restaurants and local conveniences on Central Avenue, which are listed in the Guidebook for confirmed guests. Jersey City has also become a center for dining and nightlife because the real estate market here is a little more forgiving to entrepreneurs than that of Manhattan. Favorite restaurants include Taqueria Downtown, Porta, and Talde, and bars downtown include Zeppelin Hall Biergarten, Skinner's Loft, and Barcade. Newark Avenue near Journal Square is known "Little Bombay" because of the many South Asian and Indian restaurants that line the street. As it intersects with Grove Street, it becomes a pedestrian-only shopping and dining district that's very pleasant to walk through, especially during the summer. Jersey City Heights specifically is great and is 20 minutes to Times Square by bus and 35 minutes to downtown Manhattan/World Trade Center on the PATH subway line. The Heights sits on top of the NJ Palisades and overlooks Hoboken and the midtown Manhattan skyline, with some of the best views of NYC anywhere. The Heights is mostly single-family houses and includes the Riverview Arts District and a lot of cool new restaurants. It's a five-minute walk to Journal Square (aka "India Square" or "Little Bombay"), which has some of the best Indian food in the Western hemisphere. New zoning laws in the Riverview Arts District allow for live/work spaces, which has made the Heights an attractive neighborhood for artists as Brooklyn has become prohibitively expensive.
  • Very easy to get in. Perfect for one or two nights. Very clean! Lyft was cheaper to get there and from there next day to Manhattan. It was exactly as promised would stay again.

  • Ale and Tom's place is fantastic, clean, great location and they are both wonderful hosts with great communication and local knowledge, check in and check out was very easy and I would recommend this place to all visitors

  • I want to tell you that during my stay I felt very comfortable and happy. Everything was clean and orderly, the location is excellent, the bus that took me to New York City could take 2 minutes walking and it took 20 min. Ale and Ana very nice always. I recommend this place 100%.

    Cristina2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very clean and as the ad says it is very close to everything. the only bad thing I could find is that the bed was hard and feels the springs

    Pedro2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Good place. Good location. just next to bus stop. Times square is just 20 away through Bus. Very convenient.

My place is close to Downtown Jersey City and 20 minutes to World Trade Center New York City Its walking distance to public transportation and places of interest, parks - Liberty State Park, Ferry to Statue of Liberty ten minutes Light Rail ride to Downtown Jersey City restaurants and financial district My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
The room is large with closet space and has a chair with an attached small desk. A bigger desk, can be provided upon request
The neighborhood is very quickly gentrifying and new buildings are coming up all over. As with all new places guests should be aware of their surroundings and exercise good judgment. There is an outdoor park on Garfield Ave used by Berry Hill and Claremont communities as well as other communities nearby
  • I recommend it

  • I stayed for a few nights. It is a feeling that considerable satisfaction can be obtained for the price. The host was very kind and promptly responded to sudden contact (changes in check-in and out times). It wasn't a short 40 minute walk from the nearest PATH station, but I didn't feel so painful by using a bus, Lyft or Uber. The house was good internet environment and the temperature of the shower was perfect. I was able to spend a comfortable time adjusting the temperature of the rented room. You can prepare a simple breakfast if you tell the time. Although it was under one roof with the host, it was possible to enjoy interaction, and it was a good stay where you could taste the local air.

  • Just like in the picture. Great hospitality from Vicky and her brother John. Great transportation and well located. You can walk liberty park and take the ferry to the liberty statue. Perfect for the price.

  • Vicky’s spot was clean and accessible to the city. You can walk/take a Uber/or bus to the PATH train to get to NYC about 30 min all together) I took an Uber to the train station everyday besides one day when I took the 81 bus, transportation was rather inexpensive. The house is also close to the new Nickelodeon park in NJ if that’s something fun that I interests you. As well as a cool downtown area with good restaurants. Definitely worth it! Vicky was very accommodating and the house was quiet and peaceful. Great price for the stay.

  • Great location, near State Liberty Park & Station. Very clean, warmly house. I love the old-fashioned, traditional American style of the house. Vicky is a great host, her brother John is very friendly too. They will make you feel like home. With that affordable price for a room near the Manhattan, I can't ask for more. I will come back for my later trips at New York.

  • Christopher is a great host. The bedroom is very comfortable, the location is perfect to use the subway and trains to go to NY and there are many places to have a meal in the morning and evenings. I had a great time and I’m looking forward to coming back soon.

  • 10/10 experience. Chris is a great host and a fun guy who really knew the city well. Who better to suggest great places to see and good feeds around the city minus the tourist traps then a true local. Keep and open mind and Chris will blow you away with some very interesting things to do around the city. I'm not exactly a very sophisticated person but after getting recommended by Chris to check out whole foods, I've ate vegan food become a more cultured person in the span of half an hour. Every suggestion by Chris we took on was always fun and interesting and we really appreciate the time he spent out of his way to point out the best the city has to see. The airbnb itself is interesting and everything is provided. The area is very safe both at day and night (considering we walked home to the airbnb one night at 2/3am in the morning). The public transport is really good and close as well, the path train is a few minutes walk and runs all night, really easy to get into Manhattan, Note, might be a good idea to bring cash, mainly $5 and $10 notes to for the Path metro train, we had occasional issues with the ticket dispenser where and error message came up when we used credit card. The machine also only took $1, $5, $10 notes and coins so stock some just in case. Reminder to do some research on the difference between the path trains and the MTA will help on your trip. I'm enroute to the next city on my trip and our transportation has been delayed so please enjoy this detailed review. Cheersx

  • Chris's place is a reflection of what an amazing person he is. He shares plenty of useful tips and places of interests in NY. He's also an amazingly cool host, and super fun to be around. I can't recommend his place enough, especially since it's only 2 train stops away from Manhattan. This is definitely on of the best airbnb experience I've had. Thank you Chris for your amazing hospitality, you're a kind soul.

    Wisnu2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was a great host! Definitely listen to his recommendations on things to do in NYC! I was a little worried being a single female traveller but New Jersey is super safe and constantly busy plus the Airbnb is on a main Street v close to the station. The apartment is very homely with lots of fun books.

  • We absolutely loved Manuel’s place. It was super clean and comfy. We would uber to the train station, which takes you right into the heart of Manhattan. We’ll definitely be back!

    Kelsey2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Manuel's place! It was very clean. I saw some of the past reviews that mentioned cleanliness, but we have zero complaints! There was noise from the construction nextdoor. The space was stylish and cozy. We loved having the parking spot. About a 30-40 minute drive to Manhattan depending on traffic. Highly recommend!

    Amber2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place went beyond my expectations. From the outstanding hospitality of Manuel and the superb cleanliness of the place. This place is bigger than expected and accommodated all my bf & I’s needs. The bed was comfy and the closet was a walk-in!! What a plus. Bathroom was a decent size, I just noticed that hot water runs out fast - like just enough to do my 15-20 min shower before it starts getting cooler automatically. The living room and kitchen space was so cozy. If you’re bringing groceries, there’s nowhere to really store them but enough counter space to just place on top - and there’s a fridge! Also, bonus: you get to control the temperature from upstairs and downstairs which was good. I have 0 complaints about this place and HIGHLY recommend it. Manuel is a great host and responds quickly. I will be coming back again when I’m in town!

    Karissa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at this location, Manuel is a fantastic and helpful host. The location is convenient and nearby to many facilities and the place itself is alluring. We will definitely recommend you to visit Jersey City and Manuel's place. If you're looking for a great time/experience, please book with Manuel and enjoy your stay because you definitely will. Thanks for a great experience Manuel, you're a good guy!

  • Nice place to stay if your visiting the area. It took us about 40 minutes to get from the room to Times Square. We took a subway, a train ride and a Uber. There is a bus we could have took but getting the Uber was faster. Manuel’s place was clean!

Welcome to our garden apartment in Jersey City! Perfect for tourists trying to see nyc on a budget or for a longer term sublet, our one bedroom/ one bath is comfortable, quirky and fully stocked for you! A perfect green patch in the middle of the concrete jungle. Just 35 minutes to world trade center by public transit for a night on the town or a 10 minute Lyft to downtown JC. 5 minute walk to brand new Berry Lane park. 10 minutes by Lyft/ 20 minutes by light rail to Newport Mall.
Welcome to our home! We bought this two family home in JC two and a half ago and have been working on both apartments to make them the perfect home for us (upstairs) and the perfect home away from home for our guests downstairs. This one bedroom/ one bath apartment on the ground floor is perfect for a family or group on a budget who'd like to visit NYC short term or for a single person or couple who'd like to sublet longer term. There is a private entrance from the street under the stairs. As you enter the apartment you'll see the kitchen/ living room with kitchen table, sofa with full size memory foam mattress TV and exposed brick wall. Next on your right is a European style washer/dryer combo unit, the bathroom and the bedroom is in the back with a queen size bed, dresser and closet with hangers. As you exit the back of the apartment you'll see the garden we've been lovingly working on for 6 months with the raised bed. Of course our guests are welcome to veggies that are in season during your visit. Feel free to lounge in the chair out back and enjoy our shady garden or enjoy and outdoor dinner at the table. The garden is also perfect for your furry friend, but please pick up after your poo :) While we usually live right upstairs, we're currently out of town for the next several months while I tour with a broadway show! so if you have any questions/ needs please reach out to our property manager Michele- she lives right across the street :)
Our neighbors are mostly young families, in a typical urban New York/ New Jersey style. It may be a little closer quarters than you're used to if you're not familiar with the area, but everyone here is friendly and looks out for each other. There is a bodega around the corner where you can get sandwiches, meat, cheese, eggs, butter, snacks and some produce and a larger grocery store four blocks away. 4 blocks directly east is the beautiful Berry Lane Park where you can catch a soccer game, use the bike paths or let your furry friends run around in the dog run. At the northern end of the park is JC hooked and the factory, two of our favorite restaurants... all about a 10 minute walk away from the front door.

  • Katie was great from the start. Always available to answer any queries and left us a little Welcome Hamper to help us get settled. The apartment is somehow bigger than it looks in the Photos and we were free to use the utilities as required. The location is great too, close to a local 7/11, a bus route into the city, McDonald's and DunkinDonuts for that morning Sugar and Caffine Fix. We felt secure in the apartment too as it sits back off the street. The next door neighbour was super friendly and offered help and assistance at any point in our Stay. Overall, a fantastic little find. If I'm ever on this side of the world again, I'd be sure to stay here

Authentic Jersey City Heights basement studio. The house that sits on top is a classic Jersey City row-house. The walls and columns in the basement were carefully refinished to recreate the original brick work. * Please note the ceilings is relatively low and would best suit guests under 6 feet tall. * There is no oven or kitchen sink. Best for guests who do not plan to cook in the space. * Thirty - forty minutes away from Midtown New York City via bus or train. Come take a break.
The studio is thoughtfully designed for maximum guest comfort in their home away from home. Guests may enjoy Keurig, toaster, and microwave for quick meal prep. There is a dining table, sitting area with coffee table, daybed sofa, smart tv with cable, and bathroom with shower, and of course WIFI! Room comfortably sleeps four: there is one queen size bed, one twin size bed, and one large twin size daybed. Please note there is no oven or kitchen sink for preparing meals. The ceilings are relatively low. The floor to ceiling measures 74 " generally and 67 " in a few places because of the vent. It is comfortable for us, but may not suit travelers who are very tall.
Two blocks away from Central Ave. This is a street full of cheap shopping, restaurants, coffee shops all along the sidewalk. You also will catch the bus to Port Authority in NYC here. There is also Riverview Park park located four blocks away on 498 Palisade Ave. If you want to go for a scenic walk definitely include this! There a farmers market at Riverview Park which is held every Sunday (rain or shine) from the first Sunday in May through the Sunday before Thanksgiving in November, from 10 am to 3 pm.

An unfamiliar neighborhood may seem intimidating at first, however once you are a little more acquainted, you begin to see the charm a diverse neighborhood brings. I've lived in this rapidly gentrifying neighborhood for over 15 years and I LOVE it! It is directly across from beautiful Lincoln Park. Lincoln Park is great for walking, jogging, and playing tennis. It is also the home of Jersey City's newest 9 hole golf course.
  • Really nice stay and close to the city. Great hospitality and clean place.

  • A comfortable apartment, very well equipped, well decorated and very clean. Nothing was missing, I could have stayed there for a long time! We feel good there. Amer is a welcoming host and will be able to help you if needed! First experience for me and I do not regret it, to see without waiting!

  • Wonderful place to stay. Amer is the perfect host and gave us a ton of great recommendations. The inside is beautifully decorated.

    Waylon2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amer's place is pretty much exactly as advertised and a really nice place to stay. Our host was really helpful with information and tips about how to get from JFK across the city and the Hudson to Jersey City and also took the time to say "Hello" during our stay and check that all was proceeding well. We really felt we were in a "home away from home" and couldn't have asked for a more hospitable host during our stay. We found getting across into NYC really easy, using both ferries and the PATH train system and chilling out in the apartment after a hard day's tramping around the city could not have been more relaxing. From a travelling point of view, we chose to walk to and from Journal Square, the nearest PATH station, but there were buses and cabs which would have been quicker. There are plenty of grocery stores in the area and we visited both Carvao BBQ and Hooked JC (BYO) food and drinks during our time here.

    Garic2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • The space is lovely, clean, and comfortable, and Amer is a fabulous host - friendly, conscientious and respectful. If you don't mind being little bit of walk from the PATH station (but definitely still walkable), this is a wonderful place to relax after a day in the city. Highly recommended!

Large open plan studio. Larger than most studios in Hoboken. The location is outstanding! Situated on a sought after residential street and only a stones throw away from all the magic Hoboken has to offer. The neighborhood is home to many fine restaurants and shops. The Hoboken Cove and waterfront are two blocks away. Perfect for jogging, biking or taking in the the amazing view. Ferry, bus and train to NYC just minutes away ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING - Violators will be asked to leave.
Modern Chic Studio Apartment. Bright lighting, hard wood floors. Warm and inviting. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING - Violators will be asked to leave.
Awesome neighborhood! Quiet residential streets just a few blocks from dining, shopping and NYC transportation. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING - Violators will be asked to leave.
  • Excellent, just as expected.

    Kaitlynn2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I have to say ... I thoroughly. This is prime-prime real estate. I Soulcycle frequently and the pleasant surprise of it being across the street ( knowing they're strategic in their own RE selections) was just icing on the cake. Washington St. has any cuisine you could want. I'd recommend alfalfa & seven valleys. If all else fails ... grab the NY waterway 9$ and your in NY. The port to waterway is less than half a mile from Dave's spot. So in summary: Great host. Great spot. Great accents inside. Bigger than I thought is so accurate. Overall score 10/10 an awesome stay - no complaints. I would highly recommend this place.

    Rob2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific open space for having a few people over while we were there. Has everything you need with parking close by. Would definitely use this one again.

  • Nice and big apartment. Was quiet, clean, and we enjoyed our stay a lot. We can definitely recommend it 👍

    Carsten2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dave’s place was absolutely perfect for two people! The space was much bigger than I expected, and was stylish, clean, and convenient. It took less than a minute to walk to the bus stop, the nearest SoulCycle, and tons of restaurants. I expected to spend the majority of my time in NYC, but ended up loving the area of Hoboken so much more. This is the perfect place to stay for anyone planning to spend time in Hoboken or NYC!

    Mackenzie2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, great area! Highly recommended! Close to everything.

    Jack2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot. Especially if it’s just a couple getaway. Highly recommend.

    Shumuel2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely stay! Everything was very clean which can be hard to find so I was very content with the apartment. It was a little bigger than I thought which was another great feature it was perfect for two people; my boyfriend and I enjoyed the experience of the area, but it was even better after walking all day to get some rest in a quiet and cozy place. The block over was full of little shops and restaurants, and about 1 mile down is the train station to cross over to New York which was very convenient for our trip. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!

  • We had a great time! Thank you to the Eco-Friendly house staff for everything. We appreciated all of the amenities included. The house itself is about 5-10min walk from Journal Square Train Station which made it pretty easy to get around. It isn't situated in the nicest/safest part of Jersey City to be at night but the house itself feels very secure to be in. I reccomend planning alternate transportation at night then just walking or taking the train. Overall it's a great stay with very friendly staff and clean and aesthetically pleasing environment.

  • Michelle & Jericho’s place was exactly as listed. Clean and neat BnB and very quick response time. We didn’t need much so there’s not much to review. Everything we needed was readily available to us. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area or looking to visit NYC.

    Victor2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great space for first timers! Honestly, as someone who is unfamiliar with NYC booking in Jersey worried me a bit, but Jericho gave us some great tips on getting around and even free parking which saved us $14 a day! I would definitely recommend paying for the parking spot they offer if it’s available as we noticed street parking seems a little scarce in the afternoon. I’d read a review with noise complaint but that wasn’t an issue for us at all, just the normal sounds of feet and paws. Although we spent the majority of our time exploring, it was very nice to have this space to come back to and the hosts were so kind! Great value, 10/10! Also, unrelated to the space itself but if you’re staying here and are a first timer to NYC I’d highly recommend downloading the app “CityMapper” if you plan to use any public transportation from the space to the city.

    Wahanga2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect the best of the best at Alan’s place! The price truly cannot be beat. Firstly, Alan’s place is sparkling clean and you can tell it is well kept with regular cleanings. The sheets and towels smelled nice and the space is generally very clean. The beds were some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in, big and spacious with warm comforters, and plush pillows. There were several very nice touches to the apartment, such as comfortable shower heads, USB phone chargers, TV (Roku and Netflix), easy to understand heating/cooling system, well stocked and set up kitchen and much more. Check in was easy as can be as Alan was flexible on our arrival time, and accessing the place was simple as we were able to come and go as we pleased with our own key. Alan was very helpful when we decided to stay an additional night, and was also generous in giving us additional fresh towels that we needed last minute even though they were not included. His response time to our inquiries was exceptionally punctual (even replying almost immediately at 2am). The location was perfect - we were worried at first that we would be too far from the city and that commuting would be inconvenient. But it was actually really nice to stay in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood after a busy day in NYC. And travel back and forth only took about 15-20 minutes, and was cheap ($3.50 each way). Alan provided thorough and detailed directions on public transportation, surrounding areas and sites, along with access to the home, neighborhood and travel which made getting around a thousand times easier. He answered our questions kindly and gave us tips. Overall, our stay was perfect and I would definitely book again. Thank you so much, Alan!

    Dodi2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about my stay at Alan’s place was perfect. Alan’s place was sparkling clean and had a very modern touch to it. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in, and the space had all the things I needed in order to feel at home. The place was better than expected and accurate in regards to the description and pictures. Check in was a breeze! Alan was super flexible with our arrival time and we had the independence to come and go as we pleased with our own key access. Alan was also very gracious in helping us book for another night last minute and he was also very generous in giving us extra towels even though they were not included. He communicated with us kindly and punctually, responding to all our messages promptly and helpfully. He provided location tips, tourists sites recommendations and extremely useful descriptions on directions in the city. We loved the location, at it was a simple 10-15 minute shuttle to Manhattan/Time’s Square, with the bus stop a few minute walk up the street. We spent almost every day in the busy city and so coming back to Alan’s quiet and peaceful neighborhood was just what we needed. There were a variety of extra touches at Alan’s place that made us super comfortable and truly enhanced our stay. The heating system in the room was very easy to navigate, the kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and cooking supplies, the bathrooms had nice features like shampoo/soap and a wonderful shower, safety lock and entry features, and the common room living space had couches and a large table, amongst many others. The price was also a steal! Especially for the value given, this is absolutely a five star stay and I am surprised it did not cost more. I really enjoyed my stay here and would absolutely stay here again! Thank you so much Alan, for making our trip amazing.

Considered the 6th borough of New York City, this place is the closest you can be to Times Square in a neighborhood that legally allows vacation rentals and home-sharing. It is right across the Hudson River from Manhattan with frequent bus service (every 5-10 minutes) to and from Times Square. It has a bustling local food scene with cuisines from around the world. This apartment is perfect for Tourists, Business Travelers and Couples on a budget for a short term stay up to a maximum of 3 weeks.
The space that I will provide is a one bedroom basement apartment with a bathroom and kitchen. The apartment might be a little small and narrow in terms of the entry into the apartment and the ceiling being somewhat shallow for someone taller but otherwise it's spacious enough to move around for 3 people. Now the max you can have is 4 people but just know that if you decide to bring the maximum amount then their might not be enough room to maneuver around.
The neighborhood itself is generally quiet but it's not perfect. However, it's has gotten alot better over the years in terms of less criminal activity and less poverty. The neighborhood is where the middle class working people live and go about their business everyday. During the Fall, Winter and early Spring at night, after 10PM there are hardly anyone outside making any kind of noise. But in the summer especially on the weekends, there is a potential for noise because people are out late socializing on the streets. Within the surrounding areas of the neighborhood, there are police officers stationed at some corners to make sure that everyone is safe. With that all mentioned, the apartment is basically a place to relax in the evenings after a busy fun day and early morning before your tourist activities or whatever kind of event you might be involved in. If you want to hang out in the evening but want to be somewhat close to the apartment, there are lots of great restaurants and clubs in the area and in downtown Jersey City and Hoboken. There are public transportation options or you can simply take an Uber/Lyft at a decent price. If and when I get a new vehicle in the near future, if I'm available at the time you may need, I can help you get around the neighborhood and the the aforementioned restaurants and the downtown area. The biggest tourist attraction in the area is Liberty State Park where you can catch a boat to connect you to the Statue of Liberty or you can watch the gorgeous skyline of New York City.
  • Great value provided parking just watch ur head

  • Damon's place is convenient for travellers who'll be bringing car because of his private parking although it is narrow, as he stated in the description . So, watch out getting in and out. Location is near to the Liberty State Park and some bus stops. Damon is also a good host even though we did not meet personally. He made sure that everything is ready for us.

  • I had a nice stay at Sylwia's Airbnb. The room was cozy and the bed was comfortable. The check-in was smooth and Sylwia was very responsive to my messages. I didn't use the common areas. Just my room and the shared bathroom. I would come back late evening and wake up late morning and never got to see the other people in the house. If you just need a place sleep, shower and don't mind sharing a house with other people then this place is perfect.

I designed my home to be cozy and giving enough space to my guest while staying. I focus on detail and comfort level, because I understand after a long day of travel, you just want to lay on a comfortable bed and have a good night sleep. As a traveler myself, I turned my guest experience/expectation into hosting. I hope you find yourself at home here and return in the future. I am also very familiar with NYC attractions so I am able to provide lots of suggestion during your staying.
This entire apartment features: • 2 standard bedrooms with comfortable Queen size beds. • 1 full bathroom • 55” TV with Apple TV available, access to NetFlex, Hulu, Youtube and other apps • High Efficient washer and dryer (complementary for our guest to use, but we expect our guests to be very mindful on cost of using it, so please do not run the machine all the time) • Open concept kitchen with essential cooking utensils and cookware, gas stove (be mindful if you are cooking strong scent cuisine, please close all the bedrooms and bathroom doors, and open the window by the Kitchen, and the balcony doors to help ventilation • Central Air with HAVC system, Smart Thermostat • High Speed Wi-Fi - Guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation. - No dog(s) are welcome in this home. No other animals are allowed without specific approval by us - The property shall not be used by more than the number of adults and children listed in your reservation (We do check our security camera) - All guests shall behave as good neighbor and shall not engage in illegal activity. Treat our home like your own home. - Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. - If early check-in is available for your reservation, you will be notified by 9am on the morning of your arrival through Airbnb message. Late check-out is offered whenever possible for a small fee. - No smoking of any kind is permitted anywhere on the premises, INCLUDING BALCONY AND BACKYARD. - No commercial photography or filming is permitted on the property. - Renter is liable for any damage to the property and agrees to accept charges to the card on file should damage occur during occupancy. - Due to local laws, or regulations guests may be required to agree to additional terms of service. - WiFi log-in is displayed on the refrigerator door - Free street parking in first come first serve condition. Usually is easy to find parking from 9am to 6pm, please read the House Manual for street cleaning schedule detail - I don’t recommend to get a rental car if your purpose of staying is to explore Jersey City and NYC area. We are located at very convenient location with many options of public transit that takes you to NYC/Downtown Jersey City quickly. Driving into NYC is waste of money and time, you will spend more time on looking for parking, then actually enjoying your trip. Garage parking in NYC is also very expensive.
Greenville, Jersey City is a booming area where full of mom and pop shops, 10 minutes drive to Downtown Jersey city where you can enjoy night outing with friends over various options of restaurants and bars. • We recommend this place 100% ! I usually get nervous with how accurate a location is lol but THIS one was exactly as you see or even better. The inside is absolutely beautiful & “homey” as well. It was so clean & also had plenty of supplies you may need. Not to mention all the extra stuff... from utensils, cleaning supplies, washer & dryer, even a magic bullet ! We were a little concerned on location as we weren’t very familiar - but NO complaints at all. Also having parking available was another great plus ! Communication with the hosts was always super fast & smooth. They literally make sure to take care of every little detail of anyone who’s staying here. It was truly a great experience & we’d love to return in the future !

A Large Spacious 3 BR Apt in a beautiful House! Each room has a Queen bed. Cots or Air Mattresses available for large groups. One parking spot on the driveway is reserved for this unit. Steps from a bus to Time Square in 20 minutes. Or Uber to or from Manhattan for $35 in 15 minutes. Equipped with wireless internet, cable TV, washer/dryer, full kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, kettle, coffee maker. If you need help, you can always text or message me. I live near by in NYC!
Brand new furniture and everything you need to make your stay comfortable. There's cable TV (make sure to turn on the cable box) and high speed internet. There's also a smart end table, where you can plug your phone and play some music. Washer/Dryer too!
I don't know the immediate neighborhood that well as I'm from Manhattan. For food, for those without cars, seamless.com or postmates.com is convenient. You can use postmates.com for grocery deliveries too. If you're desperate there is a 24 hour mini convenience store at the gas station a block away from the apt. Just walk to Kennedy blvd. Jaritza (1085 Summit ave) is a small supermarket within walking distance. For local transportation, Uber or Lyft is great. Or the bus at Kennedy Blvd right in front of the gas station (catch that to Manhattan in 20-30 min) for $3.25. Hoboken and Grove Street are very fun spots if you don't feel like making a trip to Manhattan. A cheap Uber or car ride away if you have your own car. Use Google Maps for directions (download the offline maps if you don't have internet).
  • Wow! This home exceeded my expectations. I felt right at home ❤️ The apartment is extremely spacious & would be perfect for large groups. The washer/dryer is a great bonus for travelers. I love how much attention has been put into this apartment. Thank you Sterling!

  • Sterling's place is great! It is very spacious and close to the city. I would definitely recommend for larger groups. He is also very accommodating. I needed to leave my car at his place before check-in and he has fine with that.

Jersey City Heights, often simply called The Heights, is a pleasant, somewhat densely packed residential neighborhood in the northern section of Jersey City, which in turn is the second largest city in the state of New Jersey. Homes in the area can be most often found in the two- and three-family detached houses which sit on small lots and which dominate the housing stock here, or in the low-rise apartment buildings that also are a considerable presence in the neighborhood. There are also more than a few stately old Victorian and Edwardian houses scattered throughout the streets of the Heights with rental apartments within, especially on Sherman Place and Summit Avenue. Rental apartments in The Heights are generally considered to be located in the area that's bordered to the south by the Bergen Arches rail tracks and The Divided Highway (also known as the Pulaski Skyway, or Route 139); to the east by Palisade Avenue (and the city of Hoboken); to the north by Patterson Plank Road (and Union City); and to the west by John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Nelson Avenue (and the community of Croxton, and the Meadowlands). Jersey City Heights is named, somewhat obviously, for its elevation atop the Palisades, a 20-mile stretch of steep cliffs on the banks of the Hudson River. Because Jersey City Heights apartments stand at the peak of the hills, many area of the neighborhood enjoy fairly spectacular views down over and out onto Hoboken, and the Hudson, and the New York City Midtown and Upper West Side skyline across the water. Residents of Jersey City Heights have several public transportation options available for commuting to work within Jersey City, or Hoboken, or Manhattan, including the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail (which will get you to PATH stations) and New Jersey Transit buses, which travel as far as New York City's Port Authority in Times Square, or to points throughout NJ. The Light Rail travel through the Heights, however there is an elevator that runs along the side of the Palisades that will take you to the station that runs along the western border of Hoboken and downtown Jersey City. Also in the Heights you'll find the Jersey City Reservoir, with its free kayaking days. There is plenty of shopping options and local restaurants for Jersey City Heights apartment residents, with much of the commercial activity on and around the aptly named Central Avenue

  • Great stay!! Pretty easy commute to manhattan if you know your way around. They were great hosts, quick responses.

    Aleida2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Juan is a super attentive host who responds instantaneously. Great location for access to light rail, Hoboken, Jersey City and NYC.

    Mark2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Near Manhattan, good transportation options. Nearby facilities. However I understood that it was a whole apartment and when we arrived there we found a room with shared bathroom. We did not have this information when booking. Maybe it was a translation problem.

    Anelise2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Juan is a great host, and permanently willing to solve any problem or help the traveler. The place is very comfortable, more spacious than I expected The place is very quiet and pleasant two blocks away there are many shops and all kinds of restaurants and places for breakfast, it is much cheaper than in Manhattan I hope to return on my next trip

  • super host !! very good welcome and the place was perfect

    Laurie2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, super responsive and nice. Location is good for the price and distance from NY if you don't mind a bus to and from. Just be sure to read the house manual!

    Kevin2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place was a lot better than I expected. The rules really aren’t as intimidating as everyone says. They are pretty reasonable considering that I wouldn’t be in the apartment all day long until late from traveling to NYC. Great place if you’re looking to stay in jersey mainly, the commute to NYC was a little long but not unreasonable. The place was very clean, cozy and cute. Perfect for single people who like to travel. The only thing I would have personally liked is having a kitchen, but overall it was a great stay. Juan was so helpful and friendly and replied very quickly. Would definitely stay there again.
