Welcome to the Hohnstead! Relive summer camps of yore at this transforming PET-FRIENDLY(*) glamping getaway, only 20 minutes outside of Missoula. Surround yourself with tranquility and wildlife as you enjoy pure simplicity inside this quirky and secluded dwelling. A solar outdoor shower, bathroom, and Wi-fi are within a 1-minute walk. Book now or add us to your wishlist! "What a magical place, set in gorgeous lands, with amazing views, an experience not to be missed” * pet cleaning fee $25
More images of the property are available @TheHohnstead on Instagram. The A-Frame is OFF GRID and there are certain concessions that we make in order to live on such a beautiful piece of property as this: a) Solar shower facility is available and depends largely on the weather conditions. It is outdoors, which means that THE SHOWER HEATS UP FROM THE SUN. You must be flexible as the sunshine and the weather dictate your ability to take a shower (we understand that it's not for everyone, but that is how we live out here OFF GRID.) b) The bathroom requires a short 1-minute walk to an enclosed outdoor bathroom. In the Commons Area there is a shared kitchen with a fridge, stove, oven, BBQ as well as WIFI, local info, games and books. The night sky is full of stars like you've never seen before. Bring your camera to this picturesque spot! c) Being in the mountains, we share the space with beautifully Instagrammable animals such as deer, elk, and bear. All that said, bugs, flies and the occasional mouse might drop by to say hello too. We do our ABSOLUTE BEST (fly tape, traps, poison, ancient Blackfoot Indian chants) to make sure you won't see them. However, If even the prospect of the sight or sound of the occasional bug or mouse puts a burr under your saddle, we kindly suggest that you book a chain hotel in the big city of Missoula. Basically, this isn't your Grandad's Howard Johnson chain hotel experience, in this space and on this property you'll be reminded of the simplicity of life, the stillness of nature and the pureness of your routine being dictated by the sun.
What "neighborhood"? This is a family plot of 100+ acres, nestled in the forests and Mountains on Gold Creek and within 10 minutes of Blackfoot river. Talk about peace and quiet!
  • Loved our little A-frame cabin. We were there in September so it wasn't always sunny enough to get a warm shower, but we knew this was a possibility. Not a big deal - we ended up stopping at a KOA and paying a few $$ for a hot shower one night. Beautiful setting, wonderful hosts. Would absolutely visit again.

  • If you’re looking for the perfect weekend getaway this is the place to go!

  • Alla and Garrett’s way to describe the location is not only hilarious but 100% easy to find. You’ll be safe here, we promise ;) We stayed at the A-frame and it was perfect! Donna greeted us (Garrett’s mom) and she was wonderful. We later on met Jeff (Garrett’s dad) and he was a hoot! He had ya laughing so much and we had great conversations with them. I have tendencies of looking at every detail and the tiny yet super comfy cabin was just perfect. They are so detailed and clean! We had so much fun on their property. Their hot tub was amazing too with those views. The roll out bed was perfect to cuddle with my hubby. They pay attention to detail which we loved! We cannot wait to come back in the spring. Thank you Donna and Jeff for being such wonderful guests! We felt as we were part of the family.

  • We loved it here! The woods are so peaceful and beautiful, and it's a really great location. Cute and comfy a-frame, and the home-made honey from their bees was a great touch and was delicious in my coffee! Thanks!

  • Cute, cozy, stylish cabin on a beautiful property! The owners are super friendly and accommodating, and the A Frame was full of thoughtful touches (good coffee, cooking equipment, etc.) to make our stay more enjoyable. Doesn’t get much better than this!

Welcome to the Bunkhouse. Built in 1958 by Lyle Hiatt for him and his family while working the Gehring Ranch breaking horses. It has been in the family since, raising many kids. Located in beautiful Lincoln, MT, which is surrounded by National Forest with snowmobiling, hunting, four wheeling, hiking, biking, skiing, bird watching, wildlife and great photo opportunities and many more things to do. We hope you enjoy this cozy home as much as we have.
It's the original 1950's bunkhouse to the ranch that sits behind the house. Nice, clean, comfortable and quiet. Clothesline available.
Bunkhouse sits in the back on a corner lot in front of a large ranch, that affords beautiful views. Just 2 miles from downtown Lincoln.

This cozy guest cottage is located three blocks from downtown. Unit is detached from main house with separate parking and beautiful views. This approximately 140 square foot space includes a half bathroom (no shower/tub), microwave, fridge, hot water kettle, desk, and queen bed. Smart tv/wifi. An affordable, comfortable option for solo travelers or couples who just need a good spot to crash.
Great views to east. Quiet and peaceful setting. Small but cozy 140 square foot studio guest room with kitchenette (coffee, tea ready for you), half bathroom (no shower or tub). There is also a small portable bluetooth speaker and smart TV. New privacy fence (as private as we could make it without compromising views), roof over patio, and fire pit outside. If you need a shower during your stay and we are unable to accommodate you in the main house... there is a laundromat/shower facility just a few blocks from downtown...next to Friday Night Pizza. Shower is $5. If you happen to be travelling with a small child this space would be tight but is doable. We have a pack n play and folding sleeping pad. Just ask! Guest cottage can be rented with main house at a discount. Please note this property does not allow pets due to the size and need to keep cleaning costs and rental costs down. This property is accessed via a short drive down a dirt alley that is bumpy but accessible. If icy, guests may park in front of main house. Thank you!
Just three blocks from downtown Philipsburg! This unit is perched on a hill above town with amazing views of the pintler mountains, discovery ski hill and open space.

  • Connie and Gary made us feel right at home. Lincoln, the dog and Jessie, the cat were added bonuses and very friendly as well. Three doe even seem to come to say hi and goodbye as we were leaving. We had a nice walk in the woods on Christmas Day. It is a very special place with lots of thoughtful touches. We are looking forward to our next stay there.

    Kathy2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We were the absolute coziest during our stay. We kept the curtains drawn so we could enjoy the beautiful view of snow falling on trees. Having a landline and WiFi were perfect so that we could feel disconnected in a safe way. :) Connie was very easygoing and communicative but gave us our space. The cabin is on a beautiful property and there is a barn that separates the main house from the cabin. It was a perfectly wonderful place to spend Thanksgiving for two!

    Teresa2019-11-30T00:00:00Z

  • What a great, cozy little space in the woods! Loved the hot tub and the river view. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

  • This is a really neat place on the water and in a state forest. Everything is exactly as depicted in the listing. Be sure to print and use Heather's well written directions for access to the property.

  • Perfect little place for a weekend wedding in Seeley, thanks!

  • The "Guest Suite" at Elbow Lake, Montana was a delightful and authentic "Montana Experience," (from someone who lives in Montana!) Outstanding of the many amenities for me was the cozy and well-stocked patio/firepit with the scenic lake view and the sunset view from the funky and fun outdoor porch. Enjoyed seeing a visiting red fox and a gaggle of Canada geese fly-in. And the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! I hope to be able to stay again. Thank you!

  • Make sure to follow her directions as they are key to finding her place. We lost signal on our way there and it was dark at night so it’s very easy to miss it. When you first make the turn to the property do not go to the farthest left path since it is a dead end and if you don’t have a bigger vehicle with good tires, you might not make it back to the top where you started since it has a very bumpy and steep road. It was a little spooky at night when we went to the hot tub but the night was nice and refreshing. When we woke up we looked at the backyard again to realize there was small lake in her backyard. Amazing views. We even got greeted by the dog last night. We have two labs at home and reminded us of our own pups.

    Anthony2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Heather's Airbnb description and photos are extremely accurate. The bed and mattress were extremely comfortable and we had an incredible night's sleep. The surroundings are very peaceful and serene. We enjoyed making dinner on the BBQ Grill and sitting on the deck having dinner and then sitting around a campfire enjoying the river and the beaver hut down below us. The kitchen supplies we're perfect for stay and the bathroom shower. We especially loved the outdoor sink for when we were grilling. Heather was a gracious host and very nice to talk to. Bottom line is we will definitely stay here again if we are heading to Seeley Lake.

  • This is a lovely spot! It's comfortable, quiet and remote, with a beautiful view of the lake and surroundings. There is a beaver dam nearby, lots of birds and also squirrels to watch. The road to the cabin is a little rough, but it's doable in a passenger vehicle (our Honda Fit was OK!) if you drive slowly. Heather was a very nice host!

MTMVR is over 700 acres nestles in a scenic Blackfoot valley 65 miles from the larger city of Missoula. A deluxe cabin with 5 bedrooms (3 full, 4 twins), 1 bathroom with tub/shower. Large living room and dining/kitchen room. Laundry facility. Phone at the main house. Cell phones work at certain locations. There are corrals for horses. 10 miles to the trail head to ride into the wilderness or ride out from the ranch. We have plenty of snow for snowmobiling right out of the ranch.
The living room has some of Jack's great trophy's. which are in the kitchen/living room area. The kitchen has most of the appliances, cooking utensils, pans, eating ware that you would want to use. There are 4 steps up the front porch and the living area is on one level. There are 1 queen, 2 full and 4 twin beds in 5 separate bedrooms.
The Ranch is located in a rural area with the nearest neighbor about 2 miles away. Most everyone is very friendly.
  • We were working in Lincoln and everything was booked, but Karen got us in last minute and saved us from having to drive to Helena. We arrived late, but she checked us in without any issues and we had a comfortable and cozy two night stay. The area is beautiful and the cabin had lots of room and amenities for a longer stay. I wish we could of taken more advantage of it!!

    Annie2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • You will not be disappointed in this place. Karen is the best ever!

  • Great! Can’t say enough good things about the cabin, the location and the host. Absolutely beautiful property & close hiking. The cabin is spacious and super clean. And Karen is amazing! Will stay again!

  • A slice of heaven with gorgeous views of the mountains, a perfect Montana get away and wonderful hosts!!!! Very comfy with everything you need, peaceful, and close to anything you'd want to do. A great place to get away from it all!!

    Nancy2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Phenomenal views, quiet and serene, fantastic hosts and comfortable accommodations. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway!!

    Gina2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Jack's bunkhouse is on a neat and tidy ranch with great views of the mountains and plenty of space to stretch out. We loved taking walks from the house and listening to the coyotes. The kids loved riding their bikes and playing with the dogs. It was a great place to hang out with friends and family.

    Christopher2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. It was great to hear the pounding hooves of the horses coming down to the barn several times a day. The house is very spacious and comfotable and the front porch is a peaceful scenic place to hang out. We suggest taking the more sirect main Coopers Lake road to find the ranch easier rather than going in the other route. The communication with Karen was great and it was nice to be off the grid.

    Theresa2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's cabin is larger then it appears- 5 bedrooms (3 bedrooms with queen beds & 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds). The home is 30 minutes from the main road with Karen & Jack's home to one side and their 50 horses corralled on the other. We came to this home for my husbands 50th birthday with the plan to do some fly fishing with our teenage daughters. This cabin is perfect for those interested in experiencing the great outdoors without electronics. No cell coverage with Cricket and limited coverage with Verizon. Between no cell phone usage and fishing til dark our teenagers were exhausted and had the best family time. I loved listening to the horses in the morning and be greeted by their two friendly dogs. Karen was the best hostess ever. Their home felt like a home that has welcomed everyone.

As a young child, did you ever dream of staying in a shed seasonally dedicated to young plants and old tools? Me neither, but at the same time, I never dreamed of staying in a cement box next to other cement boxes, paying hotel prices. The juxtaposition of what we are offering is special: A unique place to enjoy days and nights with the trees and wildlife that make Montana "The last best place," all the while close to creature comforts like AC, TV, Internet, refrigeration, shared kitchen space
Located only 8 miles from Kettlehouse Amphitheater and 25 minutes from Missoula, the Shed is your getaway from it all. Wilderness - check! The serenity of the mountains - check! Rustling of the wind - check! Endless sky of stars - check! Fantastic views from your bed - check! This is why people come to Montana in the first place. We would know having hosted folks from as close as Missoula to as far as Scotland and all points in between. Unsurprisingly, no one wants to leave. What a compliment! Living in the mountains on such an insanely beautiful piece of land, we have to make a few concessions: a) Solar shower facility is available and depends largely on the weather conditions. It is outdoors, which means that THE SHOWER HEATS UP FROM THE SUN. You must be flexible as the sunshine and the weather dictates your ability to take a shower (we understand that it's not for everyone). b) Bathroom requires a short 30-second walk to a quaint outhouse. c) Being in the mountains, we share the space with beautifully Instagrammable animals such as deer, elk, and bear. All that said, we also share it with less sexy bugs, flies and the occasional mouse. Some of them might even have the audacity to drop by to say hello too. We do our ABSOLUTE BEST (fly tape, traps, poison, ancient Blackfoot Indian chants) to make sure you won't see them. However, If even the prospect of the sight or sound of the occasional bug or mouse puts a burr under your saddle, we kindly suggest that you book a chain hotel in the big city of Missoula. d) There is a STRICT NO OUTDOOR FIRE on this property and mountain! We'd be pretty sad, maybe even as far as mad, if you burnt down western Montana :( e) Why the 4 day minimum? We look at The Shed as the perfect place for writers, thinkers, star gazer and dreamers to power down the engines and enjoy some peace and quite out in the mountains for an extended time at a bargain price. If 4 nights is too much of a commitment for you, we recommend looking at any of the 3 other units. The night sky is full of stars like you've never seen before. Bring your camera to this picturesque spot! Basically, this isn't your Grandad's Howard Johnson chain hotel experience, in this space and on this property you'll be reminded of the simplicity of life, the stillness of nature and the pureness of your routine being dictated by the sun. If "The Shed" is not your cup of Montana brew, then try one of our other two units: "The Shanty" https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/16989109?s=51 "The A-frame" https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/22440493?s=51
Neighborhood? What neighborhood? This is a 100-acre family plot. It's you, me and the other three AirBnbs units spaced out on the property :)
  • Lovely space. The design of the shed is very cozy and cute. It’s a lovely property away from the busyness of the city. It’s a great place to stay. I would definitely come back

    Anthony2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • I imagine it’s a difficult balance when hosting to make sure that you give the folks who have come to the middle of nowhere the space they need to unwind but also that you be open, available and gracious. Alla and Garrett make a great team. They share everything that is theirs with their guests, give plenty of space but are also quick to reply with suggestions above and beyond what they’ve included on their helpful list of things to do in the area. They are enthusiastic, open-minded and interesting people who really care about connecting with others. The spaces are well-designed, and the amenities (fridge shelf, plates and cutlery, towels, flashlight, etc.) are thoughtful. You can tell they’ve done this before and have taken feedback very seriously. Make sure you get a tour of the property; what they have built is amazing! I hope to come back and see them in a summer to come and stay in The Blind!

I have visited Montana for a number of years and purchased the property in 2003 having known that Rock Creek is a  world famous Blue Ribbon trout stream. The air, the water is great for fishing and a clean place to vacation. The Cabin is was built in the spring of 2017 .The log sided cabin is situated on 1 acre amongst tall pine trees in a quaint small Rock Creek neighborhood. It accommodates a couple comfortably. The cabin is self sufficient with full utilities and a kitchenette. Wifi included.
  • Popcorn Joe has wonderful accommodations for a party of two. He is very personable and goes out of his way to make your stay enjoyable.

    Bruce2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • With a bit of trepidation I booked my first Airbnb. Those fears disappeared in the first 5 minutes when I was greeted with a genuine smile and firm handshake. Joe is really knows his business and had the perfect balance of knowing when to offer daily activity suggestions and when to back off and let me fly solo. The cabin was efficient, very clean, comfortable and met my every expectation. Most importantly, Joe had me on fish within an hour of arriving, one which snapped off my 3x tippet. It was like setting the hook on a 2x4. Go ahead and click the “ Book it” button. Joe is going to take care of you. Can’t wait to see you next time Joe.

    Tim2018-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Joe is an amazing host and his location can't be beat. It is incredibly gorgeous, near enough to Missoula to make dining out or grocery shopping a breeze. And Joe, himself, is charming and helpful. Highly recommend visiting him and taking a moment to fish. :)

    Jenn2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Expectations Exceeded: It's not often that one's expectations are exceeded when staying at Airbnb, but it was certainly the case at Joe's place. I traveled to Rock Creek for the fly fishing and some relaxation. These I got, but with Joe as my host I also got a lot more. Joe took me to his favorite fishing areas, introduced me to long time Rock Creek residents that shared knowledge and history of the area with me, and also made sure I had everything I needed during my stay...including cold beverages. His cozy Airbnb cabin is next to his humble cabin, and only a short walk to the river. Joe is a kind and caring person that truly has that rare ability to make you feel like an 'old friend'. I have stayed over 100 nights at Airbnb properties, and Joe's Place is easily my #1.

    Stan2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Joe's wonderful little cabin was perfect for my short trip to Rock Creek. The cabin is clean and comfortable. It provides everything a single fisherman needs, and I'd highly recommend it. Joe is fantastic host, and he's clearly concerned about the comfort of his guests; and happy to give advice about the neighborhood and neighboring Rock Creek.

The perfect place for fly fishing on Montana's premier river: the Missouri. Close enough to get easy access to several different world-class fishing spots, but far enough from the traffic to enjoy solitude. A family-friendly location perfect for hiking, hunting, & outdoor recreation. You'll love the comfortable interior, high ceilings, full kitchen, & exterior designed to relax and take in the amazing views. My place is great for couples, solo adventurers, families, big groups, & furry friends.
The house features spacious common rooms, a full kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms. A beautiful stream runs right past the house, with inner tubing & wading during the warmer months (or year 'round for those brave enough!) Hiking trails right out the front door offer amazing views & the chance to spot many varieties of Montana's wildlife.
A perfect location for fly fishing on the Missouri.
  • Absolutely wonderful and picturesque. Very comfortable with everything you need for a great stay.

  • Was everything and more for a cabin out in the woods. Peaceful and relaxing. Great place to spend quality time with family.

  • A wonderful place to unwind and take a deep breath. The home has everything thing you could possibly need. Pots, pans, cheese grader (this is big for our fam), essential condiments + spices, games, puzzles, TV, wifi...we didn't want for a thing. No cell coverage was a game changer, since we both are used to responding to work. On top of that, it's a beautiful and open space, not overly cluttered or decorated - just right. It's also close to the Missouri River for floating and fishing. And a short drive to Helena with all kinds of actives + food.

    Kate2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Wolf Creek Getaway is an amazing place! The location, house and furnishings are excellent. It is easy to relax and refresh both indoors and on the porches, with the sounds of the stream in the background. The fly fishing nearby on the Missouri is a favorite with the men. This is a place I hope to return to each summer.

    Barbara2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • A great cabin for fly fisherman. Neat, clean, and in the woods. We noticed that many of our colleagues were closer to the Missouri River but near the highway. If you are willing to drive a little extra distance it does pay off.

  • Amazing home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is more than we expected. Beautiful finishes and homey touches. Plenty of room and bedrooms for everyone. Great location. Loved the large drive way that accommodated 2 snowmobile trailers. Loved the scenery with the creek. Used the bbq’er even though it was chilly. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed plus an Alexa for music, recipes and even sang some karaoke! The best was the communication with the homeowner, Laurie. She made sure we had everything we needed and made us feel like friends. Would recommend this property/home away from home to everyone! Will definitely stay again when back in the area!

  • What a great place. We had 3 families there with kids 6-11 and loved the location Quiet streets the kids could bike, stream for playing and fishing, big lawns for games, deck looking out to the creek and the inside was super well appointed and clean. We were able to cook, play games (inside and out), catch some fish (down the road), go for a nice country drive, and just enjoy each other's company. The house was clean and beds were comfy. We would do it again! Thank you again for everything.

  • This beautiful house was perfect or our family from New Orleans & Houston. It held all 3 of our families with ease. The area is beautiful and even if we didn't have family with a cabin a few miles away it would be a great place to see Elbow Lake, Salmon Lake, Seeley Lake, and the Blackfoot river. The home is in a quiet area yet easy to get to and find. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place in the area.

Welcome to the Hohnstead! Enjoy effortless star gazing without even lifting your head from the comforts of your own bed. This unique double see-through A-frame design allows for unparalleled views of nature and wildlife and is PET FRIENDLY! Romantic private dining awaits you on your elevated deck, overlooking acres and acres of untouched mountain forest. Feel secluded and relaxed in an outdoor hot tub, while sipping on a glass of a refreshing beverage. Pet fee =$25 for entire stay
In order to reach seclusion, there is a moderate to steep height hill from the parking lot which takes you to your unit. It takes about 1.5 minutes to get to the unit. You should be sure-footed. More images of the property are available @TheHohnstead on Instagram. "The Blind" is OFF GRID and there are certain concessions that we make in order to live on such a beautiful piece of property as this: a) Solar shower facility is available and depends largely on the weather conditions. It is outdoors, which means that THE SHOWER HEATS UP FROM THE SUN. You must be flexible as the sunshine and the weather dictate your ability to take a shower (we understand that it's not for everyone, but that is how we live out here OFF GRID.) b) Bathroom requires a short 1-minute walk UPHILL to an enclosed outdoor bathroom. There is a shared kitchen in the Commons Area, with a fridge, stove, etc as well as WIFI, local info, books, games and seating area for guests to enjoy. Basically, this isn't your Grandad's Howard Johnson chain hotel experience, in this space and on this property you'll be reminded of the simplicity of life, the stillness of nature and the pureness of your routine is dictated by the sun.
Neighborhood ... what neighborhood? This is a family plot of 100+ acres. We do have two other Airbnbs strategically located on the property.
  • A great getaway!!

    Nathan2019-09-29T00:00:00Z

  • What a unique little gem. The Blind was charming, great for watching sunrises/sunsets. The hot tub was a real plus, it wasn’t too warm when we stayed so that really helped warm us up! Loved the sound of the rain against the room as we snuggled up and read a book with a cup of coffee. Jeff and Donna were amazing hosts!

  • Such a beautifully place!

    Stephanie2019-09-16T00:00:00Z

  • Perfect.

    Tucker2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Words can not describe what a perfect weekend we had once we arrived at Alla and Garrett’s bnb. We were met by Donna and Jeff, the parents of these two. They were so fun and welcoming, they made us feel right at home! I could go on for days about how wonderful they were! The land and the blind bnb were out of this world. All and all very simple. We had been camping for the last 8 days so arriving at the blind was the perfect in between! The space is well built and stunning. You feel like you are camping but I’d definitely call it glamping! We were fortunate to be the only ones there mid week so we got to sit in the hot tub under the stars all night! It was MAGICAL! If you are laid back, love Mother Nature, amazing people, sleeping under the stars than this is the spot for you! If you are high maintenance and need full amenities than you should pick a hotel! Bathroom is shared with other bnbs. But everything feels very private! We will be back many more times. This is a true slice of mountain paradise!

    Alicia2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Alla and Garrett are great hosts. Fast responses and always helpful! Their property is amazing and it was a great experience spending some time away from civilization! • Everything was as Alla and Garrett said it would be. It was easy to get to despite being off-grid (but their directions to get to it were amazingly detailed and spot-on), and their amenities were as advertised. The view was gorgeous, the Shanty was cute and cozy, and Alla and Garrett provided their guests with all sorts of great information and made us feel super welcome. For those looking for something different from the usual hotel and beautifully nestled among the outdoors, I can’t recommend it enough!

    Kathryn2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Garrett and Alla are the best hosts ever! I've done my share of traveling and can say they are No. 1. They take lots of time showing you around, answering questions, giving tips on local attractions, making sure you are comfortable, and also just very interesting people to visit with. If you have the opportunity to stay at The Shanty, no need to think twice ... just book it! It will be a destination that will stand out in your memory forever. It is a reminder that simplicity really is better. The relaxation you experience at this property doesn't go away when you pull out of the driveway. We'll be back!

Welcome to this quaint rustic cabin located in a small hamlet of southern Hall. The cabin sleeps 6 comfortably, and was built by homesteader Carl Cassidy in the early 80's. His skillful primitive aesthetic and use of recycled materials gives the cabin a feeling it was built in the 1880's. The cabin has recently been remodeled from basement to roof: new electrical, plumbing, flooring, kitchen, bathroom, and appliances. A spacious 280sqft covered porch was added onto the back of the cabin.
The Cabin sits on what remains of the original Cassidy homestead along with the main house and several outbuildings all constructed by Carl. Flint Creek, one of Montana's blue ribbon trout creeks, is located 100yrds from the property. Just across Hwy 1, is the township of Maxville. The charming turn-of-the-century town of Philipsburg is a short 11min drive. Discovery Ski Area (great recent snow totals!!) and Georgetown Lake is just 35min away. The cabin has two stories; main living down and one large single bedroom and bathroom up. The main living area is open concept consisting of a living room (with a double bed futon couch), stone fireplace (firewood included), dining area, Smart TV, WiFi, and a fully functional kitchen. The kitchen is well stocked with an assembly of cooking needs including a microwave and coffee maker. The back door leads out to the new covered porch that overlooks the homesteads old apple orchard. You will find a new gas barbecue, a large picnic table perfect for family gatherings, and a couple of Adirondack chairs for relaxing and taking in the scenery of the property and the surrounding mountains. Upstairs is a large single bedroom with twin bunks, a double bed, and completely remodeled bathroom with tiled shower. A private balcony is accessible off the bedroom. If there's a need for an additional guest past 6, a sleeping cot is available at an additional $20 a night. The cabin has its own private drive and is surrounded by a new gated post and pole fence. The area is perfect to let your dog out for a quick break if you decide to bring them along ;) There is a $25 pet fee per pet that is due upon arrival. Cash, check, or PayPal is accepted.
The Flint Creek Valley is a year round outdoor adventure area. Hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling are just some of the outdoor activities that can be enjoyed. The town of Philipsburg is a must visit destination! You will find many enjoyable eateries, shopping, mining for Sapphires, The Sweet Palace (amazing candy store) and of course the Philipsburg brewery! The town hosts a number of events throughout the summer months and the annual 'Yule Night on Broadway' for Christmas shopping and parade should not be missed. The remains of the old 19th century 'Sunrise Mine' can be found down along Flint Creek and up the side of the mountain. There are hundreds of trails in the area to explore as well as many abandoned mines and old ransacked log cabins from the good'ol days. The area is steep in mining history! In the hills behind Philipsburg, you can visit the ghost town of Granite. Granite was one of the largest silver strikes in the world! Take a drive up Maxville Road and you'll pass through the period mining town of Princeton which still boasts a few fulltime residence and vacation cabins. Boulder Creek runs along the road to Princeton and is also a fantastic trout creek full of Cutthroat, Brown, and Rainbow trout. As you can see, the Flint Creek Valley is a wonderful place to stay and explore!

  • Beautiful and cozy space with all the amenities you need. Walking distance from the Maxville VFW which is a gem. Booked a very last minute trip and Bob was quick to respond and accommodate too. Would gladly stay again:)

  • This place is a feast for the eyes. Bob is awesome. I steer away from places that have the owners living right there because you never know what to expect, but Bob was a delight! He has taken a shell of a cabin and turned it into a cozy, warm retreat you never want to leave. It is in front of his home but once you step foot on the front porch it is your own. Even the back deck is naturally shielded from the rest of the property. Hygge is defined as "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being" and is what you'll find on Cassidy Lane!

  • I absolutely recommend staying here if you like the rustic feel while still having beautiful amenities. The whole cabin is lovely, the fireplace is giant and wonderful, and the towels are maybe the fluffiest ones on the planet. Also, the cabin is dog friendly - what more could you ask for?

  • Even though there was a date discrepancy between our reservation and the one they had logged, they calmly found us a place to stay and kept the restaurant open late for us. The pancakes at breakfast were delicious and super fluffy!
