Places to stay in Gleeson
Comfy and clean, Southeast Arizona desert. Beautiful views, quiet. One hour from Bisbee, 1/2 hour from Tombstone, 1 hour from Mexico, 1 1/2 hours from Chiricahua Mountains, 1 1/2 hours from Kartchner Caverns, 45 minutes from Cochise Stronghold, 15 minutes from Courtland and Gleeson ghost towns. Tours, shopping, hiking, stargazing, birdwatching, rock climbing, rock hounding - so much to do!
Neighborhood? Well, our nearest neighbor is 2 miles away. We're remote, and the country is beautiful. You'll do 8 miles of dirt road to get here, but it's definitely worth the trip.
  • Highly recommend a stay here! Amenities were unbeatable and it's the only place I've come across that has such awesome meals included. Cindy and Richard were some of our favorite hosts! We absolutely loved staying with them and hearing about their fascinating lives and hope to make a trip back down to stay here again in the future.

  • I would almost consider this home as a destination in itself as a side trip. It's great for your adventurous side, as its several miles off the beaten path. But the hosts provide very accurate directions, so it was actually easy to find. The solitude was awesome. I sat out and did some great stargazing, enjoying the peace and quiet. The hosts are bright, friendly, welcoming, hearty, smart people. I'll actually be going back just to visit with them and share stories. The sleeping space was large, engaging, private and thoughtfully appointed, including snacks.

  • My wife and I have stayed in a few dozen Airbnb lodgings over the past six years. Cindy and Richard's home ranks among the top three of all the places we've stayed in. They treated us as family members and made our visit completely comfortable. In addition to providing a clean and almost luxurious physical environment, they shared their thoughts and experiences and listened sincerely to us as we shared ours. Our conversations about music, literature, language, geography, and many other topics were fascinating! For us, this stay was the quintessential positive Airbnb visit. There is no other place like it!

Tombstone Silver Nickel Cabin is 2 miles north of Tombstone on a ranch road. There are many hiking & ATV trails with historic sites to explore! The cabin is a fully furnished studio (one open space, except for bathroom) that sleeps up to 4 guests. There is a queen bed, wardrobe, queen futon sleeper, full kitchen with cooking utensils, bathroom with shower, A/C, electric heat, free WI-FI, cell phone coverage, TV, DVD player, movies & books. Great for couples, solo adventurers & small families.
The Tombstone Silver Nickel Cabin was named after the Silver Nickel Mining Company, which was a former owner of the property. No mining was done on the property. The home is located on 5 private acres of open desert, on a ranch road, about 2 miles north of Tombstone, off of historic Middle March Road. This was the route originally used by the U.S. Cavalry to travel from Ft. Bowie, Arizona over the Dragoon Mountains to Ft. Huachuca, Arizona during the latter half of the nineteenth century. The home sits atop a gentle sloping hill, with a great view of Tombstone and an amazing panoramic view of nearby mountain ranges. Sit on the front porch and enjoy the serenity of the desert, wildlife and nearby mountains. In the evening, sit around the camp fire & enjoy the spectacular starry skies and the lights of Tombstone. We provide the firewood. Hike or ride your ATV’s on local ranch roads and trails. Local destinations include historic 100 year old railroad beds, Cochise Stronghold in the Dragoon Mountains and the Coronado National Forest. We are just minutes from Tombstone, but near the middle of nowhere!
You are the neighborhood, since you're surrounded by at least 20 acres of undeveloped high desert. That's why the Tombstone Silver Nickel Cabin is the "Tiny House with a BIG View".
  • John and Gwyn's cabin is simply amazing! The location is perfectly located just before Tombstone. Not only did we receive a warm welcoming, John and Gwyn gave fantastic recommendations as we asked questions and in the binders available in the cabin custom put together. We saw wildlife up close and personal and experienced beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the cozy porch. Will definitely book again!

    Shannon2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Tombstone is nothing like I expected but the stay at John and Gwyn's was amazing. I would recommend just packing some food and staying in, try to avoid going into or paying for food at any of the restaurants.

    Aaron2019-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • John and Gwyn's cabin was absolutely incredible! Such a cute and private place in the middle of the beautiful desert. John and Gwyn were charming and kind and we loved every second of our stay. They had everything you could need plus more! Will definitely recommend and be back!

    Mikayla2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • John and Gwyn were excellent hosts—helpful and communicative throughout our stay—and the cabin itself was a supremely peaceful spot. Highly recommend making this your home base if you’re looking to stay in the Tombstone area.

  • John and Gwyn are so absolutely charming and sweet and so is their cabin! The views are beautiful and this spot provides genuine privacy if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway! It’s so close to tombstone as well! I had a wonderful stay. Thank you!

  • Great location for a visit to Tombstone.

    Christian2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • John and Gwyn’s Cabin is fantastic! Perfect place from which to explore the area.

    Michele2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Join and Gwyn’s place is setup in a beautiful location, the sunset views from the porche are just amazing. They are super hosts as they were in constant communication before our arrival, giving us tips on how to get there and avoid any rough roads. The cabin is spotless and the fact that they are pet friendly is a super plus. We will definitely stay again in the near future!

The Legendary San Jose House on Fremont Street is in Tombstone's Historic District. The San Jose House, was built 1879 as Tombstone's 1st boarding house and is one of Tombstone's oldest structures. We are a short distance to main street, the Tombstone Epitaph and The Crystal Palace Saloon. The San Jose House is historically documented, appeared in movies, and also TRUE WEST Magazine. Close to downtown Tombstone.
  • This is a good location within an easy walking distance of everything you'd want to do in Tombstone. The only two things our group had trouble with was that the bed near the door could hear road noise and people talking outside. The bathroom was fairly small for the four of us to share, and the shower is small. Parking was fantastic. There is a designated place to park just outside the door. The rest of the streets in the town were full, so this was a huge plus when we arrived. Overall, this was a good place to stay if visiting this town.

    Ashley2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with awesome location. Close enough to walk to all the action but far enough to be a quiet place to relax. The place was emmaculate. Check was a breeze. The mini fridge and microwave are great to have since all the restaurants here have BIG portions! 😊

  • Great stay...we love the historic aspects of this facility. We give this stay our Highest recommendation.

    Terry2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great location to stay during a visit to Tombstone, it is walking distance from the whole town, and driving distance from other sites like Bisbee and Fairbank, and national park lands. Beautiful area especially along the San Pedro River. The San Jose House feels authentic to the 1800s but has modern accommodations that made the stay as comfortable as home. Easy check-in and room access. The Charlie Storms room is a great size, kitchenette, clean bathroom, tv with shows available, and wifi access. The included mini-fridge was much appreciated! The hosts were helpful and it looks like they are continuing to improve the building, so things to look forward to in the future! Highly recommended stay! Thank you!

A spacious get-away nestled amidst desert trees in view of the breath taking Dragoon Mountain range. Living room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom and bedroom spaces. 12 foot by 32 foot roofed patio allows for indoor/outdoor living. The only sounds you are likely to hear are those of the coyote and other desert friends. There is a telescope available to view the amazing night skies. We also have a ground set fire pit for roasting marshmallows and enjoying the mountains at night.
Plenty of comfy space and large windows for panoramic views of the desert and mountains. Privacy provided by trees that abound on the property. A metal roof covers a concrete porch area that provides a Weber grill and dining and patio furniture for your comfort. There is a copper bowl fireplace on the patio. You are at the base of the Dragoon Mountains and under a sky in which the Milky Way is visible on clear nights.
You are only 15 minutes away from our little town of Sunsites, where just about anything you want or need is available (Lorraine's Patisserie, a Dollar Store, a Beauty Salon that offers manicures/pedicures, massages, and facials,...). There is a grocery store called the Produce Wagon that stocks most food needs for all types of diets (Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten Free and Lactose Intolerant) only 15 minutes away on Hwy 191. Within a half-hours time, you can visit the historical town of Willcox. Little more than an hour in any direction are a variety of sites, such as Tombstone, Bisbee, Kartchner Caverns, Fort Bowie and the Chiricahua Mountains. We have nine wineries within this area for those who enjoy trying wine made from locally grown grapes. There is a general store/gas station in the town of Sunizona. It is recommended that you fill up when passing through Benson or Willcox.
  • This place is much more than we expected! This place is quiet, peaceful and very comfortable! We enjoyed the many birds, animals, and especially the mountains and the sunsets. My husband found and read a book from their collection on Nico Cochise which he highly recommends. We did go out exploring the area almost every day. Theresa and Ron are excellent hosts and we highly recommend this AirBnb ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Mary2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We were a little anxious about staying in an RV. Our anxiety turned to amazement within minutes of arrival. Ron greeted us and showed us the simple rules for how everything works inside. It is cozy, but truly comfortable. We ate all of our dinners there and all but one breakfast (had to return to one of our great travel breakfast places, the Horseshoe Cafe in Benson). We never felt crowded. The countless little touches inside are delightful. The view from the patio and from the couch (we had highly unusual 20 degree mornings greeting us) of the Dragoon Mountains and into the Cochise Stronghold is etched in our memories. We plan to return.

    Dennis2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Much more than a place to stay. The tranquility fed our souls. Javelinas, birds galore, coyotes, hawks, centered in amazing historical mountains, caverns, rock collecting. A magical experience. Planning our next stay at Nancy's Nest. (And we're hosts in Sedona)

    Dennis2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • One comes here drawn to its mysteries. To see that the desert is not as desolate as it appears, to hear stories of gunfights and geology, to imagine faces of native spirits in the play of sun and clouds on the nearby Stronghold. Another mystery is why Theresa doesn’t keep this illuminating place to her own instead of sharing it with strangers? She says she wants us all to enjoy it as much as she does and all that – well, I believe in unicorns too, so that’s good enough for me! This is well thought-out, lush living, respectfully contained not to impact the environment it’s borrowed from. Perfect “feng shui”, from the placement of morning sun on the busy bird feeder to the perfectly-equipped indoor space, which is a trap of a sort…you’ll hap on a book and a nook forget to go outside! If you like cook in your cowboy hat, this is not the place for you. Other than that, the place is spacious, spotless and super-functional. I could not wish for less prickly place to enjoy the Mountains, Trees and Desert in solitude.

    Jody2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our third time staying at Theresa and Rob’s place. We love the area and hope to be back for a fourth time!

    Pinar2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic place. I cannot say enough about the location - the comforts of the place - and the area in general. The hosts gave us great advice and were super available and accommodating.

    Susan2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • I keep returning to this location because I've fallen in love with the area; the hosts here are kind and accommodating. It's perfectly sized for myself and it would be fine for more. There is a nice pull-out bed in the living area I've never used. It's very quiet here. I'm a big fan of visiting in November but early December was also very comfortable. The weather turned rainy on my last day but the roads out were well-drained and safe. The big attraction for me is the looming presence of Cochise Stronghold just a few miles down the road. I made several Stronghold hikes and this year found some wonderful discoveries I've missed on visits before. I also made a day trip to Chiricahua National Monument about 45 minutes away. This is a hidden treasure and always well-worth packing a lunch and utilizing every minute of daylight. There are tourist areas like Tombstone and Fort Bowie within an hour's drive, but the food shopping choices nearby are weak. I stop in Willcox (about 35 miles away) and get the food I'll eat all week. Benson (also 35-40 miles away) has good grocery choices too if you're coming in from the west. The Nest has a full but compact kitchen and a gas grill outside. Theresa and Ron are always ready to help with little things I've forgotten. This year I got morning and evening visits from a large family of silly Gambel's quail fussing over the feeder and a couple of times we had javelina come by and root around in the gravel cleaning up whatever the quail failed to eat. Nancy's Nest is for anyone who wants to experience nature and enjoy the quiet and majesty of the Dragoon Mountains and its high desert. Gambel's quail

Our traditional adobe style miner's cabin, built in 1900, will take you back in time with its scenic mountain views and breathtaking night sky. The interior of the cabin has been carefully restored using a historic color palate, craftsman-style furniture, antiques and decor. Situated just a half-block away from Tombstone Brewery and only two blocks from historic Allen Street - walk to the best Tombstone shopping, saloons and attractions, then kick back on our porch and relax.
Built right off the Good Enough Silver mine (with the old mine shaft in the backyard to prove it), you'll be within walking distance of some of the best attractions this National Historic Landmark has to offer. We invite you to slow down on our property, pause to breathe in the fresh air, appreciate sweeping mountain views, the desert foliage, amazing star filled skies and nightly wildlife encounters. We strive for comfort and authenticity inside our little adobe - using a historically accurate color palate, antique and upcycled furnishings, premium linens, local soaps, candles, and room sprays - Some of the furnishings and the kitchen counters were even made from wood and materials found on our property, we know you will fall in love with the details. Tombstone is known for its amazing year-round climate, even in summer months - you will enjoy the breeze coming through the open windows, the sound of birds in the morning and coyotes at night. Our home is fully-furnished with almost anything you will need for a comfortable stay including extra linens and towels, coffee maker, a fully-equipped kitchen and more - we go the extra mile because we live here and your comfort is just as important as ours!
We live on the edge of Tombstone's historic district on a row of old miner's cabins and adobes. To the west is Tombstone grocery (now a private family residence) and on the east stands the old adobe once owned and loved by famous western painter Margret Reid. The current owner is named A.J., a longstanding Tombstone resident who may offer to give tours of this old adobe and tell you stories of the famous painter. Within walking distance is all that Tombstone has to offer including the OK Corral, the Bird Cage Theatre, a number of restaurants, saloons and shops. My favorite saloon is Four Deuces; if Eileen is working tell her I sent you! Your next gunfight, theatrical reenactment or social libation is just a casual walk away from making your stay.
  • This house is full of history and quirkiness...exactly what you expect to find in a place like Tombstone. Rachaela has done a great job making it feel like home with little soaps and fresh white linens. She has fostered a community feel in the house among her guests, and we enjoyed the “use some, leave some” suggestion for the pantry/kitchen. Our family was very comfortable here and would definitely consider coming back if we’re ever this way again!

    Christie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful choice for our visit to Tombstone. Staying here made our trip extra special. It’s a small, beautiful space that feels fresh and inviting. I would definitely stay again.

    Amy2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! The hospitality and cleanliness of the place was perfect. We couldn’t have had better hosts. We will definitely stay here when we’re back in tombstone.

    Raoul2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Rachaela is so eager to help, and so kind. We stayed to visit tombstone, and this house really complimented the entire trip! It is beautiful!!!!!! Definitely one for the books ❤❤

  • My husband and I stayed here and loved it. Stylish, authentic and great location. It was very clean and cozy. The host had wonderful recommendations and was very quick to respond to all and any questions. We loved our stay.

    Kimberly2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was exactly what the pictures showed and Rachaela was great to communicate with. Would definently recommend staying here! 😊

    Samantha2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed at a fair share of Airbnb’s - but this one will always stay in our memories for their hospitality, thoughtfulness and their earnestness in making us feel so welcomed and so at home. It was my birthday and there was a pie and a birthday card waiting for me. I was so touched by the gesture. Now to the house details - the location is awesome. Situated on a super quiet and peaceful street - you wouldn’t think you were a mere 10-15 minute walk to all the sights and tourist stuff. We never had to drive during our visit which is great since we also were able to park the RV at the property. I loved the historical aspect of the home - and everything you think you need in an Airbnb, all was provided. Two things that make or break a stay for me - cleanliness and comfortable bedding - this home had both. Everything was spotless and the sheets and beds were so so comfortable. We napped with the doors and windows open as a light breeze came through and passed thru the wind chimes - it was just so peaceful. And one more for the win - we traveled with our cat and puppy and Rachaela was super cool about that - our pets are trained and good - but still - to find a gem like this that also allows pets? Winner winner!! It was hard to leave - I only hope the next time I return to Tombstone that Rachaela’s pad will be available!!

  • I loved, loved, loved this Airbnb. It greatly exceeded my expectations. Some of the things that I loved about this Airbnb in no particular order. Sitting on the very comfy passenger seat of the RV, looking out the panoramic window at all the beautiful green finches and watching the javelinas. It felt like I was on a safari looking at the animals from a very comfortable perch. The RV was spotless. Mavis has high standards and it shows. Both Mavis and Dennis were very quick to respond. Thank you so much for hosting me. I am already planning my next visit.

    Carol2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Mavis and Dennis in the RV on their property was a dream! It was spotless and had everything I could imagine needing. The location was perfect for visiting Chiricahua National Monument and they suggested loads of other amazing things that I wish I had had time for while I was there. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for some quiet serenity away from everything with great amenities and not too far from town! Mavis was so kind and spent a lot of time telling me about the local wildlife and showing me some of the javelinas that stay on their property!

    Elizabeth2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mavis and Dennis are lovely hosts. The RV was spotless and had everything I might have possibly needed. I enjoyed walking the trails on the property and seeing the javelina and birds daily. (For birders, I spotted house finch, lesser goldfinch, pine siskin, mourning dove, white-wing dove, Says phoebe, canyon towhee, norther cardinal, raven, curve-billed thrasher, cactus wren, pyrrhuloxia, Gambels quail, northern harrier, white-crowned sparrow, verdin, and Bewick's wren with only minimal effort. And there are plenty of Mexican jays and acorn woodpeckers a short drive away at the Cochise Stronghold campground.)

    Megan2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis and Mavis' R.V. is spectacular. Not only is the motor home modern, spotless and well stocked, but the setting where it is located on the property is unbelievably picturesque and tranquil. Imagine waking up in the morning to a herd of javelina foraging right outside your window, or dozens of goldfinches visiting one of the many feeders. There is a mile of trails that wind through the property where you will experience other forms of wildlife as well. Mavis and Dennis are a treasure trove of information about the surrounding area. They have obviously made an effort to learn and experience many of the unique attractions found nearby. What's more they seem to love sharing their knowledge with others and are never too busy to advise guests on the best places to go. I highly recommend Dennis and Mavis' R.V. and ranch to anyone. I hope to be able to visit again soon.

    Paul2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We didn't actually stay at Dennis & Mavis' as we had to cancel due to an encounter with a deer that left our car undriveable that morning. They were very understanding and kind about our plight. Hopefully we will get out that way again someday. Thanks again Dennis & Mavis.

    Deborah2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis and Mavis were wonderful hosts, with lots of local knowledge and and eager to be helpful. Their RV was clean and in great shape with everything one would need!

  • My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful and relaxing weekend staying at Dennis and Mavis' RV. The RV had everything we needed to be very comfortable. The area was beautiful and filled with the sounds of nature.

We are ideally situated for visiting historic White Water Draw 3 miles up the road; a birders paradise . We have milder winter conditions at 4,000 feet elevation. Our small ranch is surrounded by views of mountain ranges & our nearest neighbor is several miles away. Enjoy your days exploring: LOCAL wine tours & tasting, the HISTORICAL mining-artsy town of Bisbee, WORLD famous Tombstone, HIKING in Cochise Stronghold OR the Chiricahua Wonderland of Rocks to name a few.
If you are traveling with horses, we have nice sized stalls available to rent.
We share our neighborhood with all kinds of high desert wildlife (deer, rabbits, coyotes, birds)...but don't you worry...they will never "bother" you. They like their privacy and respect yours as well.
  • Beautiful place, Very clean and cute. They even stocked some snacks which was a nice surprise. :) Linda and her husband where very friendly! Will be coming back again , thank you!

  • If you want a place for meditation, for being close to amenities but not the noise, this place is it. Bill and Linda are great people and attentive as well as sociable. The place is clean with Southwest accents and lots of nice touches. Oh and for those who need wifi, that isn'tan issue here, despite it being away from civilization. We would book here again.

    Michael2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts, loved the peace and quiet. Nice hospitality touches. Very clean. Prompt communication and check in very easy.

    Rhonda2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Linda and Bill’s place could not have been more perfect for the trip we had planned. We came for the Sandhill cranes and were just a few miles from Whitewater Draw. What a fabulous experience. Not only was the casita perfectly located for spectacular wildlife viewing , we enjoyed wine from Wilcox , a wonderful dinner in Bisbee at Cafe Roka and enjoyed the peace and quiet of Bill and Linda’s lovely ranch location watching the sunsets and stars in the evening. This was a bird lovers paradise and a nature lover’s dream for us. There were nice touches such as good organic coffee and half and half in the fridge- assorted snacks , comfy furnishings and bed , unbeatable views and very nice hosts. Our privacy was very respected - Linda responded in an instant if we had a question and was lovely in passing on one occasion and otherwise left us to enjoy the beauty and solace of the ranch. We hope to return.

  • What a Great Experience, staying on a working Horse & Cattle Ranch made us feel right at home! Sparkling clean with easy check-in even at late hour arrival! It was such a cute place and stocked with snacks, water even breakfast items! Felt like home from the start, the host Bill & Linda were so nice and fun to talk too!

  • We booked one night and ended up staying 2. The space was wonderful, very clean with lots of nice touches from the host, including the farm fresh eggs! It's quiet and dark at night, perfect for sleeping. The host had an outdoor campfire and an indoor fire lit for us when we arrived. It was very welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this AirBnB.

  • Nice place!

    Landon2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • My parents (who are farmers), my husband, and I stayed one night here. The apartment is perfect for sitting and watching a movie before bed. Unfortunately, it was too cold to build a fire in the fire pit. Star gazing and sunset watching is amazing here! Again, it was sadly too cold to star gaze for more than a minute. The room was comfortable, and the bathroom was nice. Fresh eggs were provided. If you’re going to be in the area, don’t hesitate to book this place for one or more nights!

    Ashley2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This location is tucked away in a perfect location to visit the Chiricahuas and Bisbee. The place was so comfortable, clean and surprisingly spacious. The dogs had a great time romping around and checking out the well-cared for farm animals. The host was easy to communicate with and I would absolutely stay here again. Thank you, Dayna!

    Neeshia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dayna’s place is utterly amazing! Absolutely breathtaking views, unmatched hospitality, and a 100% positive experience. I wish I didn’t have to leave.

    Chris2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Paradise! Dayna and Steve were the best...I am new to air B&B and I'll admit I was nervous. Their ranch is so much better than any hotel, in the country but close enough to amenities and all the sights in SE Arizona. We left info on places to find Fire Agates and Quail covies. This place has it all! will go back soon!

    Andrew2020-02-06T00:00:00Z

  • This is a really great, affordable place to stay with a small family. We have two kiddos and there was plenty of space for all of us. You do get an entire house to yourself, and it's nice! If you're looking for a five-star style hotel stay, this is not it. It is a clean, safe, cute little place to stay with a family, and it was very affordable for us, which was extremely helpful as our travel plans changed and we had to book it last minute.

  • Great place to camp, lovely hosts, beautiful stars, clean bathroom/ kitchen for common use. Definitely recommend staying here!

  • Soleils place was great! They have a huge property will lots of sleeping options for a great price, bathroom and kitchen inside the home. We were greeted by the work-away guests, who were very friendly and helpful. We didn't meet Soleil until the next day. My friend and I camped next to the fire pit. We brought our own wood, cooked, and laid under the stars. The property is down a dirt road. It was pretty sketchy in some spots (I have a low clearance vehicle) but it was manageable by avoiding the rutted areas, although I would never want to drive there in the rain due to flooding and more rutted holes.

    Nicole2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was wonderful, as always. And so was everyone else there. It’s a beautiful place. I camped 3 nites but had full access to the house and facilities. It’s a short 20 minute drive to Bisbee. There’s plenty of beautiful country for hiking all around the house. Great value, great hospitality. Will certainly stay again.

    David2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

My house is close to the town center, art, culture, and parks. You will love my place for the cleanliness, privacy, peace and quiet. It has a lot of light, is cozy, has comfy beds and furnishings. It is somewhere to relax and enjoy yourself. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). Marriages can be performed on site with prior notice. My property is all the way at the end of the driveway. Come to the last house to get keys from owner.
There are two porches so you can see 360 degrees of gorgeous mountain views, sunrises and sunsets and the starry skies above. It also has a full size kitchen that is stocked with all you need. There is a utility room with washer, dryer, and iron with ironing board. Marriages can be performed on site with prior notice.
The neighborhood is very peaceful and quiet and somewhere that I enjoy living. It is all about relaxing and enjoying the nature that surrounds you, a place that I want to share with others. Whether it is for one day, a week, or a month, the time you spend here is totally up to you. I have no time limit. Discounts are available for longer stays.
  • Really happy that this rental in Tombstone opened up (because the town was sold out) Lucky us, we got this cute, clean, safe and close airbnb to Allen Street. Super convenient. Beautiful star gazing at night. Peaceful and quiet. It's a cute little hidden gem.

    Wendy2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! This was our first Airbnb rental and it could not have been any better. Bev was an amazing host with great communication. Her home had great views, super close to Tombstone and absolutely spotless.

    Joey2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful view's and minutes away from Tombstone, yet still very private, we loved it.

    Dionne2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place is immaculate, very comfortable bed, stunning views of the valley and surrounding mountains from this hilltop location only minutes from all the activities in Tombstone and Cochise County. Real good value!

    Lex2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Scenic Serenity is truly scenic and serene. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning coffee on the back deck, watching wildlife and listening to the birds. We saw many deer walking right through the yard. There is a view of mountains from all sides. The house was immaculate and had plenty of room for four people to spread out. The bed was comfortable, and we had everything we needed to cook. Bev's place is conveniently located just a few minutes away from old Tombstone, and about 30 miles from Kartchner Caverns. We would definitely stay here again!

    Joyce2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • We were very comfortable for our 2 nights, & would’ve loved to stay longer. The space was larger than expected, & it was a big plus to have 2 bathrooms. There were 3 of us, but 4 people would be easily accommodated too. The kitchen was very well-equipped, & everything was very clean. The 2 porches were a wonderful extra. Lovely to sit out there with a coffee or glass of wine & watch the wildlife, gaze at the amazing stars, or just look at the view & soak in the quiet.

    Susan2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is the perfect location for visiting Tombstone, Bisbee, and Sonoita. We used it as a weekend getaway from Tucson with our daughter and her boyfriend. Great for 2 couples. It is aptly named - so quiet and serene, wildlife everywhere. The porch is amazing - runs the length of the home and this is where we ate breakfast and dinner. There is also a terrific deep tub for a soak after sightseeing. Highly recommend.

    Cheri2019-06-16T00:00:00Z

    Thea2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Apart from the fact that Lupe is a great host, the place is an absolute gem. More an apartment than a room. A short 10 minutes drive to the Cochise Stronghold and a reasonable short drive to Chiricahua National Monument. Lupe shared her coffee, kitchen, food, knowledge and her positive view of life. I definitely will be back for more of that great energy.

    Kirk2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The space is very clean, and comfortable. Nice bed and a great modern shower. Much larger on the inside than it looks from the outside. One of the more spacious Airbnb's we have stayed at. Host was extremely kind.

    D.2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and spacious room - WAY bigger than most we have stayed in. Lots of plants and lots of light made the place feel comfortable and warm. Excellent location for birding in the Willcox Playa or recreation in the Dragoons, Bisbee, the Chiricahuas, etc. Easy road access and fairly close to the Supercharger in Willcox. Lupe is a wonderful host and helped with refrigerator space, kitchenware, and directions. Great place to stay!

    David2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lupe's home is so much more than we expected. The rental area is really a private apartment with a modern & spacious bathroom, small sitting area in addition to couch and chairs in which to read or watch TV, and a comfortable bed. You won't be sorry if you decide to stay here, the host is a delightful, welcoming woman whom we enjoyed meeting and would gladly stay there again.

The Homeplace is a great place to spend some quiet winter days with friends or family, away from it all. At an altitude of 4300 it is colder than Tucson but the starry night skies are incredible. This southwestern house is built of adobe blocks, every one handmade by the current owners, the Lind family. Love and laughter have lived in this home and it has given rest and refuge to our large family for over three decades
The Homeplace will open its arms to you the moment you arrive: from the pine trees lined up to greet you along the driveway, to the spacious front porch inviting you to sit a spell, or the peaceful quiet of a good read by the cast iron fireplace. It offers three bedrooms (two with private patios) and three full baths, along with a large living room (with woodburning stove) with clerestory windows which extend over the ample dining room containing a dish hutch and round dining table (both handcrafted by John Lind) and a comfortable couch which may surprise you with a small lizard or two. (They are harmless and apparently live only on love.) The large country kitchen includes a walk-in pantry, and off the living room on the south side a sunroom provides a bright space to relax with a cup of tea. Passing through the kitchen there is a utility room by the back door where you can shed your wraps and boots in winter, or muddy shoes during monsoon season.
Located 90 miles southeast of Tucson, Arizona, you will need to stock up on groceries before heading to the Adobe Homeplace in Cochise County. However, the Mustang Mall (a small grocery store and gas station) just 6 miles from the Homeplace, or the Produce Wagon, 15 miles away, provide a variety of groceries and local organic food. And if you want to eat out locally, you'll appreciate Sandy's Restaurant (by Mustang Mall) which serves breakfast and lunch daily (closed on Wednesdays). The Adobe Homeplace is centrally located to Willcox, Douglas, Bisbee and Tombstone, Cochise Stronghold and the Chiricahua National Monument. As the majority of Arizona wines are produced in Cochise county you may wish to visit its vineyards and many tasting rooms.
  • This is a beautiful Arizona adobe house that's a perfect getaway!

  • Absolutely no complaints! The property was impeccable. Jeff was responsive to all questions before, during and after the stay. The front door opens up to the heart of Tombstone's restaurants, shops and activities and the back door puts you directly under the breathetaking rose tree with seating to relax and take in the beauty. In the evening string lights luminate the canopy of the rose tree branches. Streetside parking was a convenience. The wood plank sidewalks outside of the suite connect you to directly to Allen Street and help you reminisce of the Old West in less than 100 steps. The microwave and mini fridge allowed for us to reheat our leftovers from lunch and dinner for a late night snack. Jeff's property, The Rose Tree Museum, the history of the Macias family and the World's Largest Rose Tree are highly recommended!

    Christy2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • If you are going to visit Tombstone, stay here if you can! Modern amenities in a very old building. Very clean and Jeff is very hospitable and nice.

  • This is an amazing place! The king suites are each beautifully appointed and spacious. The bed is very comfortable, and each suite has a large, comfortable and creative bathroom and shower design. The suites have beautiful leather sofas with room for small social gathering, and two doors make them easily accessible from both the street and the rose tree patio. The rose tree is beautiful even in the off season. This is a wonderful value and would be perfect for reunions, weddings or other occasions because of the really nice onsite accommodations as well as access to the amazing rose tree!

  • This was our second stay at Grant's place and it was just as wonderful as the first time! You can't beat the location. The house is stocked with everything you need to have a fun and comfortable stay. Knowing there was firewood (and being encouraged to use the fireplace) was excellent. Really made our stay cozy and special. If you're wanting to check out this part of southern Arizona, look no further!

This authentic straw bale home affords privacy and gorgeous views of the mountains. As guests, you will be the only people on these beautiful 20 acres of true wild west. Get away for the weekend, work remotely or do some serious reading and relaxing.
Straw bale house, in the high desert at the foot of the Dragoon Mountains. Two bedrooms in quirky, art-filled, comfortable house, 75 miles from Tucson. Perfect base for hiking, birding, star-gazing, exploring, or just plain snoozing in the hammock. This is a spacious, open, straw-bale/adobe house with two bedrooms, a full bath, living room and dining area, and kitchen. It's in a dramatically beautiful, somewhat remote location, at the foot of the dramatically beautiful Dragoon mountains. The house is in a large (20 acre) lot filled with mesquite and other high desert flora. The house's walls are adobe-covered, stacked straw bales, a traditional local building method that provides excellent insulation in summer and winter. There is internet access but no TV; a stay in this house is probably most attractive to people who enjoy reading, writing, hiking, rock-climbing, bird-watching, and gazing at spectacular sunsets behind the Dragoons - in short, the more unplugged activities! The house is simply furnished and decorated with cool, unique knick-knacks and art. There's a decent kitchen with gas stove, coffee-maker and toaster oven, a washing machine, bathtub with shower, and an outdated entertainment system, including a Playstation 1 that (usually!) plays dvds. There's a nice stereo, and no neighbors close enough to judge or complain about the volume. An hour-and-a-half from Tucson, the house is a 20-minute drive to the nearest gas station, family-dollar store, bar, and produce market, all in the small town of Sun Sites, and is about 30 minutes from the slightly more populated Willcox. Nearby attractions include Cochise Stronghold in the Dragoons, where the Apache Chief Cochise held off the US Army for years in the nearby Coronado National Forest (which offers hiking, camping, and rock-climbing), the Kartchner Caverns (an enormous, beautiful, recently discovered cave - highly recommended), the old mining towns of Tombstone and Bisbee, other ghost towns, The Amerindian Foundation's Museum and Gallery, and the Chiracahua Mountains. Guests have access to the house and the surrounding property, but not the adjacent shop or shed. The owners are not present, but a nearby neighbor is available. A stay in this house is best-suited for those who enjoy the out-of-doors (the weather is typical of the high desert) and the peace and quiet of this very rural location. A car is a must, and it's a great area for biking. Or you could bring your horse.

  • Tony’s strawbale house is an ideal place for visiting the near Dragoon mountains and/or the Chiricahua mountains. It is off the beaten track with nature all around, ideal for artists and writers who need peace of mind and space to do their work. The amenities such as heat and kitchen supplies are adequately provided and maintained. Tony and his brother Julian were always quickly responsive to any questions I had. The house was stylishly decorated with art and photography. Horses are seen grazing in the field and often wander up to the house. I valued the peace of mind and ease. The house is excellent for long term stays, which I did. It was an all around good experience. I look forward to visiting Cochise Stronghold and staying at Tony’s house again.

  • Great place to stay. If you enjoy the out doors and are into hiking, I would highly recommend this place and area. So much to do and see.

  • I decided to head to Cochise at the very last minute and I'm so glad I did! Tony was so gracious enough to accept my last minute booking. If you have an inkling of creativity (even if you don't), I highly recommend Tony's straw bale house! From the decor, sunsets/sunrises, the awesome horses, it was just so inspiring! Plus I loved all of the artistic touches and 90s memorabilia. This home has so much charm/artistry oozing through it! Golden Rule vineyard is about 10 minutes away which is a great trip if you're so inclined. They also have some of the best pistachios I've ever tasted My dog and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience. I will say, there are spiders the size of your palm (that's no ding on the place, it's the desert, ha!). So just keep your eyes peeled for little critters of that nature. All in all, I'm happy to have spent time here and I would definitely return again!

  • Great place if you like peace and quiet

    Rebecca2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Straw Bale House was a fantastic place to stay! We just loved it. The home itself is really neat, decor is fun, layout is perfect and cozy, and the temperature remains cool during the summer. You have everything you need for cooking, relaxation, and working. Internet works great and the sound system is a nice touch. The property is expansive and ultimately peaceful. Be sure to sit out on the porch drinking coffee in the shade, staring at the mountains or watching the birds. You be lucky if you have any horses there at the time! It was perfect for us and our dog, who loved running around the property. The hosts and caretaker are wonderful and easy to communicate with. Cochise Stronghold is just down the road for great hiking. The majestic otherworldly Chiricahua National Monument is an hour away, free national park. Amazing views and great hiking! Talking Irons Coffee Shop is fantastic. There’s also a local butcher and a produce store to grab some good grub. The comfort level is to the max in this special place. We stayed a month and most certainly will be back!

    Amy2019-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this place! It was exactly as described. Nestled next to the Cochise stronghold, the views were spectacular. The place it’s self was amazing: I’ve never been in a place made of straw. The kitchen had everything I needed, and the neighbors and friends were fabulous. I am definitely coming back here someday.

    Sheryl2019-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to get away from it all. I was looking for some peace and quiet and Tony's place provided that and more. There is plenty of space to wander around outside and take in the beautiful scenery and for those of us not quite ready to completely unplug, Tony's place had a good WiFi connection. I would definitely come again.

    Alexandra2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second stay at Tony & Julian’s place in a few months, so that speaks for itself. As I said in my earlier review, the ranch is the perfect base for hiking and exploring the sky islands and valleys of SE Arizona and the borderlands with Sonora. It’s a stone’s throw from Cochise Stronghold and sits at the foot of the Dragoon Mountains in it’s own very private spot. Wide vistas are everywhere. It’s a great value and if any of these things appeal to you this is the spot for you!

Visit our historical ranch, built in 1896, and stay in the original adobe cowboy bunkhouse in the Sulphur Springs Valley in southeast Arizona. Enjoy our paintings and western artifacts that we hope will create an atmosphere of days of old. We are surrounded by the American West, mountain views in all directions and incredible sunsets. During the day enjoy the desert colors and views of the Chiricahua, Dos Cabasas, and Dragoon mountains. Relax and watch the birds and wild life that are abundant in the area, bobcats, coyotes, ringtail cats, deer, javelina, quail, rabbits, doves, hawks, owls, and our local roadrunner and his sometime female guest. In the winter you will see thousands of Sandhill Cranes that winter in the nearby Sulfur Springs Valley. In the evenings enjoy our spectacular sunsets and amazing stargazing with clear desert skies. Mi Ranchito is located in the heart of western history. A 50 Minute drive will take you to the Town of Tombstone “The Town too Tough to Die” with its famous Boot Hill Cemetery and loads of history or to Bisbee which was once a thriving silver and copper mining town and its famous “purple pit” which proved to be one of the richest mining sites in the world. There are several smaller ghost towns in the vicinity which were known for mining. It is worth a drive to visit Pearce where you will find the old Pearce jail and an antique and pottery shop run by a wonderful lady named Patty. Right around the corner is Marcia’s Garden Handcrafted Goat Milk Soaps and Lotions and a barnyard of fun goats that you can pet. Do stop by and enjoy some local color. Not much remains of the ghost towns of Gleason and Courtland but there is plenty of hiking and just reflecting on days gone by. A must to see is Cochise Stronghold Canyon, a short drive from the ranch through picturesque pistachio and almond orchards. This was the final refuge for Cochise, the great Chiricahua Apache Chief. This was home to Cochise and his people for many years. The Canyon offers a wide variety of plant life, wildlife and rugged cliffs with many springs and streams, plenty of bird watching, and hiking. Explore the unique ecology and geology of this historical area. Want to go horseback riding? Visit the Triangle T Ranch that has a wonderful restaurant and saloon with entertainment located 10 miles from Mi Ranchito. Enjoy riding in the incredible Texas Canyon with it’s breath taking rock formations and scenic views. Cowboy celebrities such as John Wayne, Will Rodgers and Steve McQueen once walked the grounds of the ranch. OR Bring your own horses to MI Ranchito. We have complete horse facilities which include 2 corrals an arena and fenced property. Or ride trails off property in all directions. There is so much to do besides just relaxing such as: Visit Fort Bowie National Historic Site and learn about the history of the Southwest –Kartchner Caves State Park, the largest wet cavern in the United States and just recently discovered. (highly recommended) –At least a dozen local wineries- The Amerind Foundation Museum – and the Gadson Hotel in Douglas (wonderful restaurant) - Faraway Ranch, one of the oldest ranches in southern Arizona, dates back to pre-Civil War. There is much more but, we will leave this up to your imagination and fortitude.
The ranch is located in a valley surrounded by the Dragoon and Chirachua Mountains. Incredibly beautiful mountain views and sunsets. Property has complete horse facilities with trails going in all directions. Enjoy all that the Arizona high desert offers at 4,500 feet. (Weather is just ideal). Quit and peaceful setting with the nearest neighbor a 1/4 mile away. Nearest convenient shopping is about five miles away. There are two Dollar Stores which are pretty well stocked with everyday needs but, bring any special cooking items you like to use. Make sure you gas-up in Benson or Wilcox because the nearest gas station is about 18 miles.
  • Charming rustic house. Views of the beautiful mountains and great sunsets. Enjoyed staying around all the history of SE Arizona. With so much to do within the area we will be back.

The 240-acre ranch and house were built by owner Captain Ron with help from friends and family. They placed every nail, screw, and board. Enjoy the views from the 2600 Sq. Trails End Ranch is in the high desert, 4400 ft., of SE Arizona. We are surrounded by mountains and stunning sunsets. To get to the Ranch you drive rough dirt roads for 1.5 miles. During the monsoons these roads a full of deep water in spots. This is open range so be prepared to yield to a meandering cow or calf.
  • Great place to stay near the Chiricahua National Monument. If you like remote, this is it. Ranch house is incredible, and comes with beautiful wrap around porch that is equipped with four cats and two dogs that are extremely loving. The porch is decorated with a wonderful and interesting antique collection. The ranch house itself has everything in it that you need. This is a great place for your family and/or friends to join you on a holiday. Hospitality was absolutely wonderful!

  • I wanted to extend my stay indefinitely! You will be welcomed by Carla, a wonderful hostess, in a home built of lumber and love, situated on a peaceful desert ranch. At night by the campfire you'll be treated to sunsets, stargazing, and the delightful sounds of coyotes and an owl. I highly recommend staying at Captain Ron's!

  • Great location in the middle of the valley, with views of the Cochise stronghold in the fore-ground. Really cool western themed lodge-style ranch house with tons of character.

  • This was the perfect location for hiking in Chiricahua National Monument! Nice warm space - we came during a snow storm - and very communicative/easy to find and check-in!

  • This is a wonderfully unique home in a gorgeous setting. Carla, the on-site manager, is very gracious and personable. Captain Ron was super-accommodating, as I had booked the wrong date for my arrival but he and Carla made it work, at some inconvenience to them. Once Captain Ron gave me Carla's number, communication was excellent. My room and bed were huge and very comfortable. The living room and large kitchen are comfortable and well-furnished. Gorgeous view of both sunrise and sunset from the porch and upper deck. The hot tub was down for maintenance when I was there and the wifi was in the process of changing carriers, so that was down also. However, would highly recommend this property.

    MaryAnn2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely terrific ranch. Walk around porch with friendly dogs and cats allows quiet morning coffee and sunset delights. Kitchen is a great gathering spot for cooking and conversation. Bedrooms/bathrooms are comfortable and clean. Amenities such as jacuzzi, fire pit, and bbq make the ranch a great home base for daily excursions around the area. Don't forget to look up...the milky way and night stars are abundant. I highly recommend staying a few nights to fully appreciate property...you will want to stay for a week. Capt Ron and staff are great hosts providing outstanding hospitality and accomadating your every need. 6 out of 5 stars.
