  • Rob and Kara's place is one of a kind. It was really clean and the room is really nice. I loved spending time with Connor and Skipper, from next door. All the amenities were great. Wi-Fi was solid, I was easily able to get work done! Overall, I would 100% recommend their place, so much so, I already have booked my upcoming stay in Summer.

  • Rob was a great host. It was so sweet of Rob to pick us at 3 am from other street when we were having hard time to find the address. Also loved Connor's company, he was calm and amazing. Definitely recommend this!

  • This magic little den is a great place to come and relax. It felt like a cozy home away from home. Rob and Kara are very considerate and communicative people. This is the kind of place you visit again, and again.

  • My stay at Rob and Kara's was great! There were a lot of considerate touches I appreciated such as the coffee selection, to-go cups, access to kitchen, etc. Very quick responses as well!

  • Amazing lake front view. Very relaxing. Excellent hosts! Very helpful with places to eat. Access to their kitchen. Can I give them more stars???

  • Very quiet location. Great communication by the host. Very clean and comfortable. Will definitely stay there again when I am back in the area.

  • My boyfriend and I planned a two week snowboarding trip. This was our third stop, and we stayed one night. We had a restful night stay as the bed was comfortable. I really liked the soft shag rugs throughout the rooms. Everything appeared clean, and I especially liked how the host provided plenty of bottled waters and coffee. I did ask the host if we could do a load of laundry, and she denied us access to her washer and dryer, so that was a bit unfortunate. Secondary roads to get to the airbnb were awful! (This isn’t the hosts fault, just giving future potential guests an idea about the area, as we are from Virginia). It would be very much recommended for future travelers to be driving a 4 WD vehicle. The closest restaurant that we could find that was open at 7pm at night was about 20 minutes away. Potholes everywhere, so beware.

  • Really enjoyed our weekend here! It was wonderful! Very clean and comfortable!

  • Great home away from home, 15/20 minutes away from town, great place for peace and quiet

  • Laura's apartment was the perfect place to stay the night before a day of skiing at Crotched Mountain. She was there to greet us when we got there and show us how everything worked, gave us great tips on local places to eat, and the space decorated in a lovely and cozy fashion. I would definitely stay again!

An attached apartment in our home. It has a different entrance from our usual entrance, though you'll walk through our woodshop and storage area on the way to your room. Almost all of our guests have commented how clean it is. There is a very steep staircase with a sturdy railing, but some guests will find it hard to navigate. Make sure read the check-in instructions and wifi password, since sometimes guests' phones don't work when they get here (particularly t-mobile).
You will be staying in our "apartment" as we call it, though there isn't a separate kitchen area, though the bathroom has a large sink, so we've had long-term guests who cook use the sink for dishes, etc. If you are staying with more than two guests, there is an queen air mattress that we can provide as well. If you want to use the air mattress with just two guests, please choose three guests when reserving, and it will charge an extra $5 since we'll be washing two sets of sheets for you. It has a separate access to the house through the garage and a private bathroom. If want to reserve within the 48 hours, that it most likely fine. In general, we want more notice, but most times of the year, it will be fine and we'll likely see your request quickly, so go ahead and send the request.
We chose to live close to downtown to be able to walk to various things. We live in a small town of 6,000 people, and I'd guess a majority of them either know me or at least my name. We love small-town New England. Most will greet you as you walk down the street. Many properties in our area are in 1/2 acre lots and the immediate surrounding houses were built in the 1890s. We are walking distance to restaurants, bars, churches, a walking trail through the woods, the school playground and ball fields, library. Many people in the town drive, but there are a few of us who walk and bike. The main grocery store is a long walk or short drive away. There is a free, public beach 2-3 miles away with some rafts, nice sand, a boat launch, and a fishing area. In the winter, there is an outside ice skating rink within walking distance, and two small ski resorts ~10 miles away. Extending to 25 miles away, there are numerous mountains to climb and small cities with various conveniences. Let me know if you want restaurant recommendations. We have a bunch in town, some seasonal and I can let you know what I recommend. Cell phone service is good, with the exception of T-Mobile, which I don't think works anywhere near here.

  • A budget friendly and a good room for two people. The host respects our privacy a lot. It is a shared room in their home but has separate entrance so we can enter and exit at our own will. I would definitely prefer to stay at Jon’s place the next time I come to Hillsborough. I strongly recommend this place.

    Bharadwaj2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is perfect for a quick overnight. It is a very clean, above-garage apartment. Basic accommodations but all one really needs! The host was exceptional at communicating and I was thankful for that at 10:30pm when I still hadn’t received instructions from Airbnb on how to enter the property. Luckily, Jon was very quick to reply and sent me the relevant information.

    Cecily2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts are great. Quick responses and very helpful. The pictures perfectly show what the guest area looks like. It’s clean and a great value!

COVID 19 PRECAUTIONS: No extra people come and go from the property, and your space is TOTALLY DISINFECTED (all bedding included) between Airbnb guests. Feel free to message with any questions. I look forward to welcoming you! Your 'trainer's suite' is a totally private room and connected full bath. Twin beds have comfy mattresses, "My Pillows", and soft, upscale linens. Coffee/tea always available. I am happy to arrange tours of the Miniature Horse barn and paddocks. Bring your camera!
The Trainer’s Suite, encompassing a bedroom and full bath, is on the private 2nd floor off of an interior walkway overlooking the open concept living areas of the house. The bedroom has comfy twin beds and room enough to plunk a child on an air mattress on the floor. The full bath, complete with skylight, is yours and yours alone. The suite is decorated with pictures, ribbons, and trophies from 55 years of equine events.
We are in a lovely, wooded residential area, where our 10 acres and 20 Miniature Horses are well hidden from the road. Summers are pleasant due to the tree canopy and location on a hill; autumns are spectacular; winters are……..well, winter, but the Town of Bow is topnotch with road care. The property is located on one of the many area deer paths, and depending on the season, you are very likely to see the wild turkeys that also use the path, and even an occasional moose or bear.
  • Cindy is a wonderful host, and the space is very cozy — clean, warm, and comfortable. Cindy was happy to let us spend some time with the horses. We’d absolutely go back. It was a truly relaxing, exceptionally pleasant stay. Thanks so much, Cindy.

    Brooke2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The horses are so fun to see! Cindy is very responsive.

    Kelly2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • There is a saying my husband and I use when we feel we are at an exceptional place. “Comfy,Cozy and Content “. That is what I felt at Cindy’s home. I had a great nights sleep on a very comfortable bed with an excellent pillow and sheets. Nice hot shower in the morning with great towels. I wish I had had time to have coffee in the morning that she supplies but this was a quick overnight due to a snowstorm. And she also had me park under cover so I did not have to clean my car before going to work ! Much appreciated !

    Debby2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • So cute, had so much fun staying here!

    Julie2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely, cozy place, with the smell of the woods and fresh hay. Spotlessly clean, thoughtful communication. I recommend this place highly.

    Bas2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • A special place with a fabulous host...and miniature horses to boot! Everything from start to finish was a pleasure. Cindy is a clear, timely, humorous communicator. The bedroom/bathroom suite was perfect--clean, comfortable, quiet, and warm (we were there on a cold snowy winter night). We were treated to some quality time with her incredible miniature horses, which we had requested in advance (highly recommend!). She pointed us in the right direction about local restaurants and driving conditions. She went out of her way to allow us an especially early checkout time of 3:30 a.m. and thought of everything we would need for that special exit time in advance. Unless you don't like dogs (she has two sweet rescue dogs who sometimes bark briefly around strangers--but they are otherwise quiet and she is very careful to keep them away from the guest area and guest's belongings ), you will be very glad you stayed here. Cindy could not have been more helpful or gracious.

    Suzi2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy has the kindest heart and it will be an amazing stay!

    Stina2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy is a welcoming host and her home is in a peaceful setting about 10 minutes from downtown Concord. The 2nd floor bedroom is basic with 2 separate twin beds, a closet and a dresser and the adjoining bath is large. No TV, easy chair or desk but very clean and cozy. High speed WiFi is offered. Fresh coffee and her famous pumpkin bread are a nice touch in the morning.

  • Very cozy place to stay in the cold winter and the host was very accommodating and welcoming.

    Dean2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! It was bigger than we had expected, perfect for a weekend getaway or even longer. Super close and easy to get to pats peak and since we didn’t feel like cooking in the well appointed kitchen, there were many restaurants to choose from on the way home from the mountain.

    Marion2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice quiet location but be ready for a bit rustic. Was not a big issue for me. Super clean space and nice use of a small area. Great for 1-3 people. Great communication by Deborah even with a small check in issue. No problems. Snacks were a nice touch. Hope to come back when I can see the area as I was in and out in the dark with daylight savings and my work hours. Would like to make use of listed hiking and biking in the area when there is more daylight! Hope to come back soon as I'm in the area on business frequently.

    Greg2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Way Wicked Farm is a great space, cozy, clean and comfortable. Deborah was very hospitable, even leaving us English muffins for breakfast. Will definitely stay again!

  • Beautiful spot, beautiful drive in! Hope to stay again! Felt so free!

    Phylecia2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • What an adorable and perfect place! This barn had everything we needed and was in a cute town where we enjoyed the local coffee shop and rail trail. The bed was very comfortable, and we had reliable wifi and the kitchen was stocked with a small set of pots and pans that allowed us to prep our own food. We had plenty of towels and hot water in the shower. The land around the barn is beautiful, and we really enjoyed walking around and exploring the nearby creek. We ventured out to the mountains nearby and find an excellent hike too. The host was so friendly and responsive, and we had a truly wonderful stay!

  • This stay was absolutely unbelievable. My partner and I drove up from NYC to get away for the weekend and the bard was beyond what we would have ever expected. Denise goes over the moon with attention to detail. The barn is the coziest most adorable place I’ve ever stayed. She had the place stocked better that any hotel I’ve stayed in. Her hospitality is exquisite. This is a place to remember forever! We will certainly be back ASAP. She provided amazing tips and recommendations for the area. This place is an amazing value and to all of you that have fur babies she is literally one of the only places to stay. The bard will not disappoint!!! One of very few places I’ve stayed that I was actually sad to leave ❤️

    Samuel2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super cool barn! Denise is really thoughtful and left a variety of snacks and breakfast supplies for us, which we appreciated. On a very cold (well below 0) night, parts of the barn were a bit drafty, but climbing under lots of thick blankets alleviated that. We'd definitely come back.

    Anna2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Two Cats Barn was the perfect place for myself and some friends to spend the weekend skiing at Crotched Mountain. The barn is gorgeous and amazingly cozy, even when the temperature dropped down to 3 degrees one night, and has plenty of blankets and heated massage chairs to make you comfier than you thought possible. There are also puzzles, board games, and books so there's plenty to do on a cozy day in. Check in was quick and easy, Denise and Andy were super nice and helpful, and the provided breakfast was fantastic. There were fresh pastries, eggs, OJ, and cheese, and even a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us. Overall I would 100% recommend this place to anyone, and would definitely come back again.

    Robyn2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a cozy place to stay after skiing at Crotched Mountain! We had a great stay and the hosts were very accommodating!

    Michaela2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

Don't miss the sound of the Paul Revere bell which rings through the town on the hour. Continue your true New England experience by hopping in the car and reminiscing the past by visiting the covered bridge just down the road in Greenfield. For braver outdoor enthusiasts climb the famous Mount Monadnock, known as the 2nd most climbed mountain in the U.S. Whatever your reason for visiting, we look forward to seeing you and sharing our home in the unique village of Hancock and it's beautiful surroundings.
Downtown historical village of Hancock is exactly one mile away -there are lots of lakes and ponds around us and we are nestled in the Monadnock Mountain area.
  • Great location for our long weekend ski trip to Pat's Peak and Crotched mountain. Every room was sparkling clean and we really appreciated the coffee, tea and other amenities which helped us feel at home. (Also great board games and movie selections!) Everything matched the description and even exceeded our expectations. Would return for a future stay!

  • It was great staying at Karen’s place. Things were tidy and apartment was nice. You enjoy the apartment even more in daylight due to surrounding natural beauty. Thanks for your hospitality and recommend this place to other travelers.

  • Karen’s place is very close to the mountain for skiers and snowboarders. Great location. She is very quick to respond and flexible with check in time. Thank you!

  • Great place! We appreciated the easy breakfast foods that were provided- it made our stay with our three kids much easier and less complicated!

  • Loved staying here. Very clean. Lots of space. Great location. Easy access. Host were so friendly and accommodating. They really want everyone stay to be great. We were welcomed right as we walked in. We will be making this our New England stay every time.

  • Wonderful place to stay! Adorable spacious apartment with homey touches and a helpful host.

    Alison2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was the best host my dad and I could have ever asked for! She greeted us when we arrived, gave us a little tour, provided us with some breakfast food and home made cookies and even made a sweet welcome sign for us! The apartment was beautiful and cozy, and stocked well with everything we needed. When my dad cut his leg skiing and needed stitches, Karen helped us out a ton! She provided us with extra ice and baggies so my dad could ice his leg, and helped him get up the stairs. Very quick to respond and an absolute sweetheart! The apartment was roomy, super comfy and at such a great price! I wish I could give Karen 5000 *stars*!!

    Olivia2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • I’m an experienced Airbnber but Karen’s stood out for all the warm and special touches she offered from the homemade chocolate chip cookies to all the breakfast fixings to the sign welcoming us to the board games and movies to the notebook of suggestions. We prepared all our meals and the kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfy and the place was quiet and welcoming in every way. Very close to Crotched Mountain where we skied. Highly recommended!

My husband and I have farmland in Hancock, New Hampshire. We have a private cottage that is located next to the main house. We have 32 Acres of Land for hiking, exploring and cross country skiing for our guests. We offer free canoe rentals in the summer, with free drop off and pick up at local waterways. There are plenty of local shops and restaurants in the Monadnock region.
One master bedroom with a queen size bed. The bunk room (no private door- it's a walk through to the master bedroom) has one fold away twin bed. There is also a very comfortable love-seat that a child could sleep on, as well. One bath, beautiful sunroom, eat in kitchen and living room. There is baseboard heat in all rooms, that is thermostat controlled. There is a washer and dryer in the bathroom. Which is free to use, for our guests. We're best suited for one couple or a small family. Just a reminder- we do not have WiFi
It's a quiet town. Norway Pond is right down the road from our cottage in Hancock. The Hancock Market has all the necessities you may need while you stay here. The town of Hancock has a warm feeling of a small town community. Stop at Fiddleheads Cafe for lunch. They make a wonderful pizza! If you want to take a walk through the town. There is a little goat cheese factory right on Main Street. Best of all, we're only 6.4 miles from the Crotched Mountain ski area in Bennington. The next town over, Peterborough, has plenty of shops and restaurants to visit too. Plus, you're about 45 minutes from concord and about 25 from Keene. The Merrimack outlets are about an hour away.
  • Humble Hospitality & just the right amount of quiet for the extended weekend trip with the counterpart. I will definitely be coming back here since I’m a heavy believer in staying at places that are period correct. Blueberry muffins were the perfect addition to an early morning before checking out the local mtns and trails. 🙏🏻

  • Ashley's cottage is an ideal stay on the way to ski country. It's a quintessentially rustic New Hampshire spot with farmlands all around. Plenty of lounging space after a long ski day.

  • Couldn't have had a better escape from Boston for the weekend. Ashley was a very responsive and generous host, and her cabin was clean, quiet, and spacious. Ashley greeted us upon arrival with the most delicious homemade pumpkin muffins and gave us amazing local suggestions. The town is quaint, charming, and quiet. Ashley's cabin is the perfect place to disconnect, read that book you've been meaning to for the past couple months, and get a great night's rest. We will definitely be returning!

  • Ashley's place was a perfect spot for us when we came for a friend's wedding in the area. She was really easy to communicate with. Her husband even drove their canoe out to a nearby pond for us to use - what a treat! It's a beautiful area and easy to get into town to get breakfast, etc. too.

  • Steve's place is the perfect getaway. My wife and I came to his tent with two of our friends from NH (we are from just outside of Boston) - it is an ideal quick camping getaway when you might not have time to make it up to the White Mountains from the city. Once booked, Tentrr gives you Steve's contact information and he is extremely responsive from that point on. You do need to reach out to him before getting to his road though as there is no phone service. There is however plenty of reception up at the actual site (no wifi though for those who are looking for that). He was readily available the entire stay. The tent is clean and very spacious - if you go during the colder months, there is a wood stove inside that is very efficient. He sells generously sized bundles of wood for your use both in the stove and for the fire pit. Do respect the fire pit though - those that came before us created a secondary pit next to the one meant to be used (most likely to cook on while they enjoyed the other larger fire) - Do not do this! It seems pretty tough to bother Steve but this / disrespecting his space would be a way to do it. There are an abundance of local trails that begin right outside the tent - he will provide you with a map. Restaurants and bars are also not too far away if you are staying for a few nights and want to go out. I highly recommend for a weekend getaway or even a whole week in the summer as there is an outdoor shower for your use when the season is right.

    Ben2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Removed, yet can enjoy the lake and hiking trails. Nobody ever bothers you and you don’t see people unless you want to. Camp keeper great, quick to respond and help out in any way. This is a dense wooded lot, sun comes through beautifully but it does not “stay” sunny at the site. Not like being at the beach so sometimes can feel a little cooler. The beds are very comfortable and rent is cozy and unique! Amenities were great and you can request add ons to make your stay more comfortable and easy. When purchasing wood, keep in mind you’ll need more than you think, it burns quick. Other than that this was a great place to stay, loved it!

  • AS ADVERTISED. Nanette and Sebastian were fantastic hosts, and the space was just as cozy as it looks. Great communication, a wealth of knowledge of the area including scenery and restaurants, and very hospitable. Can't recommend their cabin enough, we can't wait to come back!

    Nicholas2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we touched upon arrival, the experience was easeful and snug. Nanette and Sebastian, welcomed us into their gem of a space. The woodstove fire kept the warmth and lighting of the cabin alive throughout the evening. We were surrounded by both; many words of authors, within the library and acres of land. The view of the sparkling stars by night and the peak of the mountains by day. Magical space with amazing hospitality. We will definitely be returning.

    Samantha2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here in February was just perfect - the cabin was cosy, warm, and fully equipped with everything we needed. Nanette and Sebastian (and their dogs!) were absolutely lovely and you couldn’t ask for better hosts. They were friendly and kind, the breakfast they prepared was delicious, and their recommendations for local restaurants were superb. The cabin itself was a great place to stay and we felt so peaceful just sitting by the fire and admiring the view. I would recommend this place to anybody in need of a restorative break from everyday life, and we will definitely be back again!

    Lily2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nanette's small space was incredibly cozy on the snowy New Hampshire day that my boyfriend and I visited. It was exactly what we were looking for-- a winter, cottage-like experience in New England. Our hosts were so helpful explaining how the wood fireplace worked and at giving directions for local food suggestions in the nearest town. We arrived later than anticipated, as we made a few roadside stops, and Nanette promptly responded after each delay on our end, as we updated our arrival. It's always so nice when in-person checking in is this easy. Nanette included breakfast which was extremely convenient because of its remote location and also extremely nutritious and delicious-- much better than any restaurant we ate at for breakfast on our New England trip.

    Santiago2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I come here every winter for a serene getaway that can't be beat. The wood stove, the variety of books, the warm sheets and the even warmer hosts make this our favorite Airbnb!

    Vinnie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Nanette and Sebastian’s cabin - we loved it so much we had booked another weekend right after our first stay. We couldn’t be happier that we found this charming cozy escape. The breakfasts each morning are delicious and so special. The wood stove is magical. The whole thing is such a great value. Book it - you won’t regret it! Thanks Nanette! We’ll be back!

  • Incredible view! Gregg was very helpful and even provided some firewood. Perfect cabin for a getaway!

    Nick2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Place is amazing!!! We did not have to contact the host for anything. Absolutely coming back.

    Alex2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was exactly what we wanted! A cabin over water, trees, a private space, kayaks & a fire place! The bed was so comfy. Water was hot for showers. The deck was gorgeous, the grill is small but worked out perfectly for the steak. Gregg suggestions for purchasing some firewood were right on. Fire place was the perfect touch. We cooked dinners and had a lovely weekend. Kayaking, cooking and & reading. It was a lovely get away. Can not imagine the fall season! Leaves are just at the VERY beginnings of change. The pond is glorious. Thank you, Gregg, you were so helpful & in touch. A last minute find!

  • The listing is an accurate description of the cabin. It is a beautiful spot on a lovely lake. My daughters also loved being able to use the indoor pool which is walking distance from the cabin. Gregg is also a perfect host - very friendly and proactive. We would definitely stay again.

  • This place is simply amazing! The cabin and huge deck with its private dock is perfect! It’s part of a super amazing (small ish) resort that is super chill and low key but has everything you need to have a blast in nature! I would highly recommend! If you’re second guessing.... don’t :)

    Kelly2019-08-18T00:00:00Z

  • Jack & Sue’s cabin is so cozy and homey. We wanted to book a longer stay almost immediately after walking through the door. They live right next door on the property, but there are no shared walls and it still feels very private. We ate fresh eggs from their chickens in the morning and skied at Jay’s peak which is under 5 mins away. It’s a very small peak with inexpensive tickets and rentals, great night skiing. We stayed in and cooked one night and went to a local restaurant called Country Spirit the following night. Amazing food and incredibly friendly staff and locals. Thanks for having us Jack and Sue! Highly recommend!

Need an overnight spot to park your RV/trailer but camp sites are just too expensive & Walmart too public? We have the perfect solution: BREAKWIND FARM! Enjoy the outdoors during your stay in a secluded country setting, close to the river & a minute's walk to the farmhouse with all the amenities (see below). Rest your road-weary bodies and relax in the river or at Elm Brook Park up the street. We're less than 3 mins to Rt. 89 and 12 minutes - Rt. 93. See other listings for rooms & camper here!
Breakwind Farm is 227 year old 6 acre property located in a quaint and rural community just outside of Concord NH. The amenities in the Farmhouse include: A full kitchen, bathroom and shower, wireless internet with charging stations in our beautiful 3 season room with a gas fireplace and TV with Amazon and Netflix, and a collection of board games. In the summer months we have a small organic herb and vegetable garden and sell our produce at our stand out front. Our property runs along the Contoocook River where you can swim and explore by canoe, paddleboard or kayak in the summer. We are also within walking distance to Elm Brook Park with walking trails, swimming, picnic and recreational facilities. For hiking, scenic vistas, and auto roads, Pat's Peak is a 10 minute drive, Mount Kearsage State Park is 20 minutes north, and Mount Sunapee, less than 30 minutes. If you like the adventure of mountain biking, dirt biking or ATV riding, bring your vehicles because we have 2 parks located near us; Clough State Park in Weare, NH, and the Hopkinton-Everett Recreation park down the street. Love golf? Duston Country Club golf club is a ten minute drive. Our town may be rural but the capital of New Hampshire, Concord, is just 15 minutes away where you have access to shopping, restaurants and cultural events. The White Mountains, Boston and seacoast are also within 1- 1 1/2 hours by car or bus. As you can see there is no shortage of activities in the area, however if you would just like to sit and watch the garden grow, please feel free to enjoy the solitude, or we would always welcome help with gardening and picking vegetables if you are so inclined. In the evening, relax by the fire pit and enjoy the sound of the peepers and crackling fire, (based on the weather, please ask me or Rick to start the fire first). Come and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and traffic and enjoy the country life for a few days or a week. You will feel refreshed and renewed and won't be disappointed ...like us, you'll probably never want to go back!
Peaceful, rural setting, near the river and down the street from Elm Brook Park. We are also located on Route 127 which does have some commuter traffic weekday mornings.
  • Great farm location farm animals and a quite space with a nice view and the hosts are absolutely amazing they take the time to listen and talk we had a great bonfire and some great food thanks for everything and for the dance....

  • First, it is a great getaway from all the hectic lifestyle drag at the city; second the place is real cozy and homely; third, the entire place has been kept spic n span; and fourth, i loved spending my time out here with the most hospitable host I know. Above all I am definitely gonna miss Patti's yummy treats.

    Saba2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend your stay whether it is in the camper, the rooms in the farmhouse, the tiny house set back in the woods or just camping out. They have a lot of options (if a booking is available). Patti and Rick are super accommodating and go out of their way to make you comfortable. They are there when you need them and also respect your privacy if that's what you are looking for. The farmhouse is very charming and any flaws (if even hardly noticeable) only adds to its character. All of the lodging spaces are super clean as well and charming as well. I have been camping out on the property for over a week and have had everything I need and more. They went out of their way to make sure. They made 2 full bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a cozy 3-season porch (with games and puzzles galore, internet TV, and electricity to charge all my gadgets) accessible to me. I had fresh towels, washcloths, linens. I also got to enjoy complimentary fresh free-range eggs provided by the lovely hens, fluff and Nugget. They offered tea, coffee, toast and jam as well as fresh garden veggies. The only challenge I faced was a night of thunderstorms where I was able to seek refuge in the 3-season porch. Rick and Patti set me up to make sure I was cozy and had everything I needed. I was even able to do a partial bartering for my stay. I loved swimming in the river and depending on where you stay and availability you may have access to the kayaks. The walk to the river through the woods is only about 500ft from the house. It's a little muddy at the shoreline but not bad at all. The large firepit for a nightly gathering was a nice touch and fun to interact with others. The cat and dogs on the property are very sweet and friendly. So are the bugs, so make sure you bring bug spray (if not, Patti and rick have you covered)! lol. Overall, it's a very peaceful and relaxing getaway. Enjoy the chirping crickets!

    Amy2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Patti and Rick are gracious hosts. They made sure I had everything I needed. The place is quiet and relaxing. The cat Trixie and dog Layla are very friendly and the three free ranging chickens visited every day. There is a good place to cool off in the river that has a spring pouring into it. I would definitely book there again.

    William2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Was truly a better experience than i could’ve hoped for. As it was only a very quick stay, patti made the conscious effort to make sure I felt welcomed and was there for a reason. Very personable, and willing to go the extra way to make sure I was comfortable and in good hands! Perfect for car campers and all others looking for a quaint place to stay

    Claire2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Patti and Rick were very lovely hosts and worked with me on a last minute booking. They were super responsive and helped me book properly since I was having trouble with the app. When we were unexpectedly one man short for one night they promptly refunded with no need for me to ask. Checking in with them was like coming in to a family members home to stay, warm and welcoming. It poured out the first couple of nights we were there and the camper was very cozy. everything you need is there. highly recommended.

    Kristi2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Patti & Rick was perfect! We rented space to park our van for the night, after a wedding in Concord. We arrived early in the day to meet the hosts who were more than accommodating and happy to show us around the property, even taking the time to walk us down to the beautiful river side. They have a peaceful and serene place, especially at sunrise. The kitties joined us for our morning coffee, which just sweetened the experience. There were other campers renting the trailer at the wood line, we wouldn’t have even known were there had they not passed by to say hello. As we headed off to other adventures we wished that we had allowed more time to stay and enjoy the area and we definitely recommend checking this place out!

  • A true gem of a place! Linda and Peder were incredible hosts with fantastic tips about local events and they gave us such a warm welcome to their beautiful and spacious home which had every amenity. We would absolutely recommend their place to anyone looking to get away and enjoy NH and the surrounding areas. We skied Pats Peek (about 25-30 min away-a beautiful and easy drive!) both days we were there and it was awesome! Thank you so much for such a wonderful weekend!!

There is a wonderful local art gallery and Washington is the home of Gibson Pewter. I highly recommend this lovely place.

Our home has a full ground-floor apartment with walk-out access to the water. It is generally very quiet here, but we cannot guarantee absolute silence since we do live upstairs. Kayak, canoe, row, swim, hike, (URL HIDDEN) is all here.
The apartment is located on the lower level of our home. The apartment contains a bedroom with a private bathroom plus a living room/kitchen combo, an outdoor screened-in and an open patio with a walkway to the lake.
This community is made up of year-round and summer residents. The people around the pond are helpful and friendly.
  • Great location on a beautiful pond in rural New Hampshire with an amazing host. Perfect getaway spot with easy access to the thriving Manchester, NH area.

    Meg2018-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • It is truly a one-of-a-kind residence and enjoyed my time on the (frozen) lake.

    Timothy2018-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Ellen's was wonderful. Although it was a cold cold winter, the view of the frozen lake from the house was beautiful. Ellen also provided a well stocked fridge/kitchen together with homemade relish and pear butter. Thank you Ellen and Stephen for the hospitality shown.

  • Thank you Ellen for such a wonderful week-end! We had a great time in your incredibly cozy and lovely house. I wish I could have a home just like this for the rest of my life! For the weekend it is just the perfect get away, in a forest, by a pond, with everything you need to enjoy the place. Also, all the little details made it just a perfect stay. Would definitely return :)

    Oana2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely, idyllic spot and a wonderful first-time experience using AirBnB. I think my dog enjoyed the time away as much as I. The special touches, including the bottle of wine and homemade zucchini bread, only added to the memorable time away for me. The host gave me suggestions for nearby places to hike with my dog. The bed was so comfy and the sheets were luxurious. I might just have to invest in new bedding now since I was certainly spoiled. I would recommend highly Ellen's Joy to those considering a stay in southern NH.

    Ellyn2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen's Joy has become my joy, too! Minutes from everywhere I wanted to be, this lovely home provided me with the quiet, peace, and solitude I was looking for in order to reconnect with my New Hampshire roots. Inspirational, too-- a writer's paradise! Greeted with a bottle of wine, some fresh yogurt, and the softest sheets & bed I've ever slept on, my week passed way too quickly, way too comfortably! But I left revived and wanting to return. I especially appreciated that I could take both my little dogs. Without that, I couldn't have come at all, and I would have missed Mt. William Pond, Ellen & Stephen, and all that southern New Hampshire has to offer. What a treat!

  • This was a great place stay! Ann and William are one of the best hosts I’ve ever come across so far. I loved staying here and I’m definitely coming back. I stayed here for my Uni residency at NEC in Henniker. I checked in late at this place, the nearest restaurant was bit far and I had to Uber to the restaurant. I was starving like hell and Ann was so sweet to feed me dinner that night with their extra food. And it was DELICIOUS!! I couldn’t thank them enough for that kind act : ) They’ve a boxer dog, Luna and a cat, Tuxie. Both were super friendly, I enjoyed their company and I used to bring treats for Luna every evening from school. Honestly I miss them so much now! Coming to house, I loved the whole arrangement of items in all the rooms. The bedroom I stayed was big enough for two, all the items were super clean from mattress to pillows, sheets and the bathroom. Just make sure to bring a car to travel as this is a small town booking a cab can be hassle.

    Chandra2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay and look forward to returning many times in the future. William and Ann are wonderful hosts.

Enjoy a relaxing stay in an 1850 farmhouse in beautiful Peterborough. The room is comfortably furnished with a queen bed and seating area with private bath. Coffee and tea service, as well as an in-room refrigerator/freezer give you many of the comforts of home. The private entrance leads to a small patio with seating area in a shade garden. Conveniently located just two miles from the heart of town where you'll find galleries, antique shops, yoga studios, live music, pubs, and more!
This property was originally a sheep farm, which is typical of southern NH. The house has an attached barn, adjoined by two smaller buildings that were originally used to store farm equipment. Attached barns are unique to a specific region of southern Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and northern Massachusetts. All of the buildings except for the barn have been updated for the comforts of modern living. We are actively working to restore the house and landscape, which in recent years had been neglected. We're happy to give you a tour of our projects and welcome your questions! All structures on the property are old frame timber. To protect against the risk of fire, we kindly ask that guests refrain from smoking anywhere on the premises. Use of open flames is prohibited. Vaping products are also not allowed. Thank you for observing these rules during your stay and helping us to maintain a clean and comfortable environment for future guests!
The house is the oldest building on this short stretch of road north of the hospital. Directly across the street is a wooded lot with maple and pine trees, which lends a feeling of rural quiet and fall color. Not far from the house, you can find the Contoocook River and a boat launch to the north, and Sheiling State Forest to the south. We have easy access to NH-Rte. 202, so you'll have no trouble getting out to explore the region!
  • My girlfriend and I stayed at Jan’s for a few nights while exploring the surrounding area. The space was very clean, and Jan even took extra precautions to sanitize everything due to the coronavirus outbreak. We loved the room, it was super cozy and the reading lights above the bed were really cool. The bathroom was really nice and there was extra towels in the bedroom. Lots of counter space and a large mirror. The guidebook in the bedroom was really helpful. That’s how we found our dinner the first night as we didn’t know much about the area yet. The maple syrup was extra thoughtful. Overall we had a great experience. Would definitely recommend! P.s. Cosmo is so adorable and talented :)

    Riley2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jan's place is clean, comfortable, and quaint. Located close to the hospital (the reason for my visit) and close to downtown restaurants and shops. If I return to the area, I will certainly stay here again.

  • The room was small and tidy, exactly what we needed and the perfect amount of space. It was extremely clean and everything was as amazing as expected!

  • We decided to do an impromptu overnight before a snowshoeing hike the next day. Jan accommodated us last minute. Her suite is spotless and includes an adorable coffee and tea bar. Would definitely book with her again!

  • Jan's suite is the PERFECT spot for a weekend getaway. Its located just outside the lovely town of Peterborough, NH which has tasty restaurants with good brews and live music, a beautiful river walk, and fun shops, including the sweetest new&used bookstore. Its also a hop-skip-jump from Mount Monadnock - a gorgeous hike in all seasons. The suite itself is so comfortable and cozy, with lots of stylish and thoughtful touches. It's a quiet, private, and super clean space with plenty of room to relax, making in the perfect homebase for great New England adventures. Jan was even kind enough to provide coffee and tea, which made the morning even better. Can't say enough good things - stay here!!

    Emma2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean. A cozy space with a lot of thoughtful touches. Tea, coffee, water are available along with extra blankets and towels. It is a very cozy space! Highly recommend!

  • Highly recommend. It's a really charming and cozy hideaway with lots of privacy, just what we were looking for. Jan is a terrific host, she even accommodated our need for some extra space to fit a pack-and-play crib for our infant. The bed was super comfy. This is definitely better than a hotel room stay.

Off of, but just a couple of miles, from the beaten path a little bit of Eden. The Farmhouse's private entrance is at the front with the small porch, taking you to the home's original main green door. Come on into the front hall and up the stairs to the clean, bright, secluded bedroom with a queen size bed. Enjoy a private bathroom with a large walk-in shower, antique granite vanity and all the fresh air dried towels your stay will require. Welcome
This room comes with a Keurig machine, organic coffee, tea, a mini fridge, microwave, a wine glass, a cork screw, a TV provided with Netflix streaming, WIFI and more needed amenities. Start your day here then head out of a perfect Cappuccino and breakfast at Aesops just about 2 miles down the road or travel to Harrisville for something hearty at the General Store. A perfect walk at MacDowell Dam is a stones throw away as are many other local hikes. Explore shopping in the village, art galleries, and of course plenty of fine dining to be had. Nearby Delrossi's is my favorite for Italian. Harlow's is ever dependable for a great meal, cocktails, music (late), cocktails and all kinds of beers. Locally you can find a Whiskey Bar, a brewery, good Thai, homemade chocolates even a vinegar store. The Toadstool is a great place to browse books and support the local economy. Within walking distance is Nature's green grocer and I always encourage stopping in to see Lulu and her wonderful ceramic work in her studio across the street. Because of the practical use of the space details for longer term stays will have to be worked out in advance.
Arts, food and nature in abundance in this idyllic Monadnock region. Something for everyone with each season from, downhill skiing at Crotched Mountain, cross country at Windblown, snow shoeing anywhere, to the most refreshing dunk in Dublin Lake, a hike up Pack Monadnock, mountain or road biking whatever your favor. It can't be beat.
  • Perfect space for a quiet weekend away on business! The area is lovely (I would like to come back when I have more time) and so is the setting. Check-in was quick and easy. I also appreciated the numerous thoughtful touches. Very charming and I ADORED the bathroom.

Quaint and private in-law studio in private home in Henniker, New Hampshire, adjacent to Pat’s Peak Ski Area, near New England College and Contoocook river. Semi-private walkout basement with private entrance, separate bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom, and patio. Nice yard in wooded area, rivers, lakes and mountains with four season recreational activities nearby in central New Hampshire. Suitable for 2-3 people, additional guests will need to be approved by host. No pets, no smoking, no drugs.
We are located in a quieter forested part of central New Hampshire, lakes, rivers, and mountains provide outdoor activities nearby. In winter, skiing, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, and ice fishing are nearby. Spring and summer are great times here for hiking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and swimming. The autumn here in central New England is quite beautiful.
  • Great little walk-out basement space within walking distance of Pat's Peak.

    James2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Birchwood was a lovely, comfortable, and accommodating Airbnb directly next to Pats Peak making for an ideal skiing get away. The kitchen is plenty big and has everything you’d need to make meals for dine -in if you’re looking to keep your trip lower budget, but there are also some local spots our host recommended for dinning out. Our hosts were very friendly and had thought of everything you could possibly need for your stay with them including a portable space heater for the other rooms away from the bedroom where the main heating source is located. I would just suggest bringing slippers or thicker socks for walking around on the floors if you didn’t want to use the heater. Would (and hope) to stay here again in the future.

    Chad2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic, charming, Little House on the Prairie (well with electricity) winter getaway; this cabin perfect for ice fishing, snowshoeing, cross county skiing, woodys runs, cozy dinners, and a quick getaway from the city. We fully plan to return next year.

    Carrie2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Kary's cabin was fantastic! The location was great and the privacy provided on a little lake was everything we could have hoped for. As long as you're aware of what you're getting into (no running water, heated by wood burning stove only) the cabin is the perfect get away spot to spend some time disconnecting from the outside world (although there is some limited cell service). Cabin was easy to find and has a wonderful view of the lake from inside. Despite having a few neighbors within eye sight it really does give the feel of being alone in the woods which is amazing. For anyone worried about the lack of heat - as long as you come prepared with enough fire wood and are on top of feeding the fire all night you shouldn't have too much of an issue. The night we stayed temps dropped to below zero and we were still able to get the cabin up to a balmy 70-something (inside thermometer reading) using the wood burning stove. Only warning would be to make sure to keep feeding the fire throughout the night! Once it begins to die down the temp in the cabin will drop quickly so make sure to have a plan in place for the colder times of the year (we set alarms every 90-120 minutes throughout the night to wake up and feed the fire). Overall fantastic stay and we're excited to come back when the weather warms up! Thanks Kary!

    Adam2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is perfect for a getaway. It’s exactly as described and even better. Kary was very helpful and responsive. Ovetall a great experience!

    Anastasia2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for a month during the winter. It was an incredibly relaxing cozy place to disconnect from the rigors of daily life. We were plenty warm inside even when the temperature dropped into single digits. The cabin is in a pleasantly remote location, and we never tired of waking up to the beautiful views of the Lake. The kitchen is well appointed with plenty of cookware and utensils. Kary was pleasant and easy to communicate with. If your looking for a uniquely rustic experience in a wonderful location then this is it!

    Eric2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at the cabin. Kary's description of the place is just as it was. It is as beautiful as the pictures. If you are staying in the winter...do bring lots of firewood or know where to find some. We came from MA so we didn't bring our own into NH but had to find it at gas stations and the local grocery store (Sully's). We used about 7 bundles over the course of 48 hours. We felt lucky with January weather in the high 30's and 40's. We may have needed more wood if it had been colder. Do bring your own water! We used about 6 gallons (we didn't use a lot of paper goods but washed our own dishes and ate in). The outhouse experience was just fine! Actually better than I anticipated. We used our ski poles to walk to and from it so we didn't have to worry about slipping on the snow. It was easy to get to and from. We enjoyed the surroundings! This is a good place to be outside and if people are willing to rough it just a little it is a gem of a place--quiet beautiful and quaint. Kary's communication was excellent. We definitely want to come back.
