  • Bernie is a great host and accommodated for all our needs, highly recommended!

    Jeffrey2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Bernie’s place was perfect for our stay. We were attending a wedding just 5 min away at the Springfield Castle so the location was perfect for us. Definitely plan on renting a car. The floors are heated and the place was always warm. Although there are two bathrooms one doesn’t have the greatest shower (but it does have an amazing bath) so we all took showers in the master. Bernie was also accommodating to our late arrival which I highly appreciated.

It’s brand spanking new, well-heated to ward off a cold Irish winter and full of lovely touches- including some home made muffins and ground coffee for brewing. Beautiful place and excellent value for money.

  • This is a perfect little gem 7 minutes from Adare's center! We drove to Galway for an evening out then off to Ennis, the Cliffs of Moher, and Doolin for a day filled of wedding planning, then off to Kilbaha for a fishing charter! We felt it was a perfect central meeting spot for someone who wanted to do it all but also loves having some place to come back to and call home for a few days! Space was clean, fantastic fire place, super comfy bed and very peaceful! Loved the occasional "mooing" we heard from some neighboring cows and the beautiful scenery!

Located behind a historic row house is the Old Bakery unit. The buildings date back at least 300 years and during restoration an old bake oven was uncovered. One stone wall is left exposed to showcase this feature. It is a loft bedroom with a reading area catwalk lit by skylights. The kitchen window has a view to the older buildings in the back courtyard that is still in the restoration process. Old world charm means those expecting a spotless, upscale hotel experience will be disappointed.
Natural lighting through windows and skylights showcase the old stone wall and bake oven. A mix of modern and medieval with a combination of high and low ceilings.
Newcastle West is a non touristy hub for shopping and exploring Ireland without the time cost of unpacking, repacking, relocating, and repeating. Many popular and obscure attractions nearby.
  • Excellent accommodation l, excellent hosts. Beautiful space with exposed block work. From start to finish it was an amazing stay. Cheers Rick

    Petra2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Let me start by saying that I requested a stay the day of, so I wasn't sure I could stay here. When I received response that I could, I was thrilled. Exhausted from a full day of travel and jetlagged, I was welcomed and immediately felt comfortable, safe, and well-received all around. The space is quaint in all of the best ways. You are greeted by a gorgeous courtyard and a home which has everything a traveler would need, including wifi, a hot shower, and a cozy bed. The location is blended into the town seamlessly, and is only a short walk to the square proper. It was clean, quiet, and I do not hesitate to recommend it. As for the hostess, Leo, she was brilliant, warm, and so very helpful. I appreciated the entire experience. Thank you!

  • Rose's cottage is lovely. We had an enjoyable experience there. We only booked one night but we should have booked another night. We had our own space, living room, kitchen and toilet and shower room downstairs, bedroom and toilet upstairs. We had access to tea, coffee, bread and biscuits. There was milk, butter and water in fridge. Rose's Dad Donie greeted us when we arrived. He showed us around and said if we needed anything to let him know. He was only next door. The following morning he dropped us back up to car which we had left in nearby hotel.

  • We had a lovely stay in Ash Cottage with our 8 month old daughter. All the comforts of home and wonderfully peaceful location. We particularly loved the story about the renovations and history of the cottage.

  • Wonderful home!! It’s very clean and homely. The whole place is layed out and designed so lovely, lots of personal touches which made it feel like home. Very warm and even had a fire already prepared for us. With amble logs to use. The kitchen has everything you need! Coffee tea sugar to use which was great, sometimes many homes don’t provide this, fresh milk in the fridge so we could make a warm drink on arrival. The beds were comfortable and amble begin provided. Very comfortable and with heated blankets but the house was so warm we didn’t use them. The front room is lovely, big comfortable space with sky tv and strong WiFi. Lots of games to play which was great fun. Tom was helpful and popped in to see if we are okay which was lovely, we asked to check in early and it wasn’t a problem. The house has a lovely story behind it which made it even more special, there is a book you can read all about it. The renovations done to the property are high standard and We will be definitely visiting again, one of the best places we have stayed bar far!!

    Andrew2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • If I could give Tom’s cottage more than 5 stars, I would. Absolutely charming and thoughtful, down to the fresh milk in the fridge for coffee and the bed warmers on the beds. The photos do not do this lovely space justice. Would love to stay again!

    Shannon2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a fantastic cottage to stay at. The renovations were so thoughtful and done perfectly. This cottage was so cozy, we would live here if we could. American drivers, beware of the narrow roads and have faith that you will be able to drive in Ireland. So proud of my husband, he drove like a champ. Also, Tom is a super host and he is deserving of that title!

    Tanya2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend Tom's cottage ,very cosy we had a lovely stay

    Catriona2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the farmhouse was welcoming, clean, quiet, and restful. The house has some great history and the area is very rural and peaceful. After a full day of exploring the Irish countryside, it was great to come back to the farmhouse, light a wood/peat fire in the stove, and simply relax. While the lodge isn't very convenient to the big tourist attractions in the area like Blarney or Bunratty Castles, its a very pleasant and scenic drive off the national roads to get to the lodge and well worth the extra time to get here. We did day trips to Cliffs of Moher/Burren/Ennis, Limerick/Adare/Bunratty Castle, Blarney Castle/Cork, and the Ring of Kerry. A bit of driving in those four days but relaxing afterward at the lodge made the slightly more remote location worth it. The owners, Sean and Monica, were especially gracious and provided us with information on local activities in the area that were memorable.

    Doug2018-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at the lodge with our 3 kids. We enjoyed learning about the history of the farm and appreciated Monica's cooking very much! The lodge is very nicely restored and has everything you would need for a relaxing/comfortable stay. We would have loved to stay longer. Thanks Sean and Monica for a memorable holiday in Ireland.

    Tamara2017-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay. Even though we were only there three days, it felt like our home. A great place to return after our daily adventures. It was a particularly great place for our four year old son. So much for him to do. From running around the fields next to the house (and seeing so many bunnies) to visiting local castles, big and small.

Gary did an amazing job restoring the property, while retaining the original character of the home. The surrounding land is beautiful, and it was very special waking up to the morning light shining on the Irish countryside. Nice country walks right from the house. My 4 year old daughter loved exploring and visiting the resident horse and neighbor cows. Good location for exploring the west of Ireland. Very convenient to Adare, Limerick, etc. Gary and his family were all lovely and were available every time we needed help or advice. Highly recommend!

  • This cottage is lovely and in a great location. It's in the countryside but only 10 mins from town. There is plenty of space for parking and 4 good sized bedrooms. The kitchen has everything you could need and comes with a good heating system for the nights it's a bit cooler. The tv only has four channels and is not a smart tv so you can't stream to it or connect a device. So bring things with you for entertainment if you decide to have a night in. There is wifi so watching on a tablet and listening to music is possible. This cottage is lovely for a quiet break.

  • Absolutely beautiful little cottage! We loved the little details! Our daughters pretended to be in an Anne of Green Gables novel. Bernie and her husband were fantastic and gave us a lot of tips for our roadtrip and let us visit their farm animals.

  • Very sweet place, reminded me of treasured childhood memories of Pipi Longstockings house. We were welcomed very warmly with home made scones and the very best lemon curd. There were children’s books (we loved it), fresh milk and real Irish butter. A gas station and supermarkets are about 8 mins away.

  • A beautiful 100 year old cottage with everything you need. It has a washer and dryer. Not the combination washer/dryer in most places. This was a plus for us. Such a wonderful place to stay

    Eve2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great cottage, with fantastic hosts.

    Owen2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was really nice. There was an apple pie and 4 interesting cider type beers waiting for us in a very quaint and beautiful cottage. We were there for work and our team were very impressed. Nice way to end a long day. All the doorways are low so you had to duck to walk through but it added to the old world charm of the cottage.

    Mairead2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was honestly the coolest place I've ever stayed in. When you see "100 year old cottage" you expect it to be freezing and dilapidated, but our expectations were blown out of the water! We received such a warm welcome, all the amenities were brand new and working perfectly, and it was absolutely perfect for what we needed. The worst part was having to leave!

    Aaron2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • A cute little cottage! Communication with the hosts was great. Check- in was clear and easy. There were lots of extra touches to make it all the more welcoming. Also the apple pie was delish!

    Shanae2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! So cozy and welcome! Every amenity - we loved it!!!

    Karen2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage had everything we needed. Very clean and comfortable. Quaint and cosy. Loved the little touches like apple tart, bread, milk, butter, etc. that were left for us. Perfect for a mini break away to relax. Would recommend 👍🏻

  • A great house in a really good location for exploring the area. Martin provided outstanding hospitality and was very responsive to a couple of small issues that arose. We were greeted with a home made pizza on arrival by Martin, and also a hamper of grocery items for our use. The house is very roomy, and very quaint with its thatched roof, and has great appliances. The location was good for exploring the Ring of Kerry, Adare, Dingle and other local tourist spots. We are happy to recommend this B&B to all.

  • This place is great! Very scenic, quiet location that is conveniently located near Adare and Newcastle West . Inside and out, this has all the charm of a Irish thatched cottage, but with a bit of contemporary living incorporated. This cottage is cozy but far from cramped, and comfortably served our family of 4. Martin was extremely friendly and helpful. I’d gladly recommend this clean, cute B&B to anyone visiting the area.

  • Pat and Triona are the nicest people in the world. Their place is a really interesting working farm with dairy cows, chickens and funny dogs. The rental house is very nice and comfortable. I forgot my driver's license in America, so we had a big hassle renting a car. Pat and Triona told us what to do and drove us around until we got things sorted out. They could not have been more accommodating. I highly recommend their place.
