Spread-out, kick back and soak up the best that Newport has to offer.

Spacious and inviting private guesthouse with 4 beds (1 queen, 1 full/twin bunk, 1 full futon), living room w/gas fireplace, full kitchen, dining area, piano, guitar, outdoor patio, and backyard. Two blocks to the beach, Yaquina Bay Bridge, and Yaquina Bay State Park. Walking distance/very short drive to Newport's historic neighborhoods: the Bayfront and Nye Beach. Perfect for couples, friends, and families.

The space
The guesthouse was formerly Newport Lost Buoy Hostel--a small micro-hostel that hosted over 1,000 people from over 30 countries in 2 years! Since then, we've fallen in love with Airbnb (though still dream of opening a bigger hostel one day...).

Decorated with driftwood, agates, buoys, and other treasures from the beach, the guesthouse also celebrates the love of adventure, travel, coffee, and music.

We hope the guesthouse infuses your travels with a sense of free-spirited joy and ease. And with each "lost buoy" you find in and around the guesthouse, may you be inspired and reminded: "not all those who wander are lost."

Guest access
You'll have access to a private guesthouse, outdoor patio, and your own backyard.

Other things to note
We love furry creatures of all kinds: we have a dog, that you may see in the backyard. To keep the aforementioned safe and happy, we do not accept pets, and thank you for understanding!

The guesthouse is connected to our home. There is a chance you will see us or our dog in the garage, driveway, or backyard. The guesthouse has a connecting door with our side of the house, which is locked and closed at all times.

Location

Newport, Oregon, United States

Newport is a small coastal town with big heart and diverse offerings. From the guesthouse, you can easily walk to beach, Yaquina State Park, Yaquina Bay Bridge, restaurants (Thai, Chinese, seafood) and a locally treasured pub (Bier One). A 1-mile walk or drive will take you to both Historic Nye Beach and Bayfront neighborhoods, which offer chic boutiques, restaurants, pubs, sweet treats, and a glimpse of life working and living by the sea. A fifteen-minute drive North will take you to Yaquina Head Lighthouse; South to the spectacular beach of Seal Rock State Park or hiking at Beaver Creek State Park; and East along the Yaquina River to quaint, quiet town of Toledo. We are happy to share suggestions to help you discover the rich treasure of the Central Oregon Coast.

Simply put, I love to travel: for the new experiences, people, and food, and for the opportunity to grow as a human being. My wife Sarah and I host travelers through Airbnb to share this love with others. Through the wind and gray, we genuinely love living at the beach, and are grateful for the community we've been welcomed into in Newport. I play indoor soccer and go fishing as much as I can, while Sarah enjoys running at the beach and teaching yoga. We have a lab-blue heeler mix, Rosie Chimichanga, who rules our hearts with her spirit of adventure and eternal-puppy cuteness. "The travel gods have spoken!" (my favorite expression, especially when travel plans go haywire or otherwise unfold in unexpected ways). Sending you our best-- Benito and Sarah
