Situated along the Hennops River is a little rondavel nestled in natural wilderness of the Crocodile River Reserve. We are part of the Magaliesberg Biosphere, which has been categorized as a critically important and irreplaceable biodiversity area.

Emerge yourself into the wild, relax in a tranquil natural environment and go hunt that thirst for adventure. Removed from any amenities you find yourself free as a bird. Forget the concrete jungle and follow us into the cradle of the African bush.

The space
The self catering thatched roof River Cottage has a large lounge and dining space and bedroom with wooden floors. It features a modern tiled kitchen with granite top and a classic bathroom situated just a stones throw from the river. Expect total relaxation from the calm soothing sounds of the river and the natural beauty of the Hennops River Valley.

We are accessible by regular car, but we recommend a vehicle with higher clearance or 4x4 for ease of travel.
Sports cars are not advisable.

*Please Note: Forestiva Farm is a nature reserve, there is a possibility you will encounter wildlife, insects, reptiles, etc which we have no control over.

The River Cottage is not entirely fence in. It's open towards the river.

The hot tub is solar heated and dependent on weather conditions.

Guest access
The Cottage is removed from the main house with your own fenced in private space and entrance. We are accessible by regular car, but we recommend a vehicle with higher clearance or 4x4 for ease of travel. Sports cars are not advisable.

You have access to 350 ha of wilderness where you can go hike, mountain bike, climb, fish, kayak, bird and game watch in a private game reserve.

As a guest you will have access to the Lapa which features a hot tub, fire pit, braai space, teppanyaki and large dining table just a stones throw away from the cottage. The Lapa is a shared area and may be used by hikers as a starting and ending point for the hiking trails during daylight.

Please note: The hot tub is solar heated and dependent on weather conditions. It cannot be heated with cloud cover. It requires sunshine to heat.
