Peace and quiet

Klein Pakhuis Farm is both a Cederberg Karoo farm and a nature conservancy. It extends up the eastern slopes of the Cederberg Mountains where it shares a fence-free boundary with the protected Cederberg Wilderness Area.
The farm is blessed with pure natural spring water; blue-sky days; clear starry nights and utter silence. Varied wildlife thrives under the conservancy ethos of the farm, including Verreaux's Eagle, Rheebok, Grysbok, Aardvark, Caracal, and the elusive Cape Leopard.

The space
Leopard Cottage is a free-standing farm cottage at the edge of the farmstead area. It has a large covered verandah with built-in cooking hearth. The verandah faces east with stunning views of the morning sky or the rising full moon, and is totally sheltered from the elements - al fresco living at its finest! On quiet nights the cough and saw of the Cape Leopard can occasionally be heard, hence the name.

Guest access
Leopard Cottage is the only guest accommodation on the farm. Owners and their families may sometimes be present.
Guests have free access to the whole farm with exception of the owners residence areas; and are most welcome to enjoy the walking routes up into the mountains and the gentle farm road strolls.
Driving on the farm is discouraged.

Other things to note
Klein Pakhuis Farm is situated at the bottom of the eastern end of the Pakhuis Pass, a product of legendary road-builder Thomas Bain. The area is known as Rocklands and is renowned within the worldwide rock climbing community as some of the best climbing on the planet. The spring and winter months present dazzling Cape wildflower shows.

Cool off and catch the exquisite views at the rim-flow swimming pool with shady thatch boma. The pool receives a constant flow of natural spring water that spills over into the vast wetland below.
