The space
BREAK-AWAY is a beautifully appointed home. Light open spaces, with a beautifull appointed kitchen, flowing into the living area. Carefull detail was taken in the building of the home to maximize not only the uninterrupted sea views, but the magestic back drop of the towering and dramatic back drop of the mountains behind.

Carefull consideration taken Into providing top class linen and the most comfortable sleeping experiences. With the lull of the ocean waves, you are rocked to sleep

A DVD player and TV has been provided in the kids room (twin beds) with a large selection of kids favorite movies. This is to ensure parents can relax and take in the view and enjoy a glass of chardonnay and enjoy some relaxation and perhaps even climb into a book.

The pool can be covered for young children. Please let know if you need this done.

Other things to note
The beautiful naval town of Simonstown is 6,8km from the property with lots of restaurants and shops to idle through.

Boulders Beach, a world class beach is a mere 5 minute drive. Even when it feels like there is a strong wind this world class beach is Completely sheltered and you can enjoy an epic beach day, and be sure to share the beach with a few penguins, makes for the most wonderful photography opportunities

The Boulders Beach Jackass penguin colony is one of the only ones in the world.

Even closer, is the Black Marlin restaurant (1,7km) - widely known for its amazing seafood. My personal favorite is the Lighthouse restaurant in Simon's Town, with my favorite thier famous French bouillabaisse stew.

The Simons Town yacht club restaurant, also welcomes guests, it's a blue flag swimming harbor, where kids can enjoy themselves frolicking in the crystal clear water, be sure to take diving equipment, kids will be entertained for hours, while you take in the views of the yachts and exceptional views over the bay. We have never been dissapointed with any meal we have ever had there. Liver and onions is my favorite. Also the best fish and chips.

Castle Rock is the perfect base from where you can comfortably explore the rest of the Cape Peninsula. Whilst having a beautiful home to accommodate you during your stay.

Cape Point Nature reserve, with all its wonders and iconic restaurant on the tip of the point , is very close and a treasure trove of exploring can be done there(4,7km to the gate from the house) I have an intimate knowledge of the penisinula, and being so in love with the entire area, my husband and I share 3 different homes on this small peninsula. I would be overjoyed to share all my favorite locations with you. I have young children and my husband is an avid surfer, so I can share so much with you my guest, and we can work out something perfect for your personal preferences. My Aim is that you arrive as my Guest and leave as my friend.

Where you’ll be

Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

So the Castle Rock Marine reserve area is definitely one of the most unique places on the South Peninsula.

It is completely wild, and if you love nature and enjoy the feeling of being away from the city, this place is perfecty positioned. However you are litally a 12 to 15 minute drive from the nearest shopping mall.

And a 35 minute drive (the drive in itself is just beautiful) into cape Town city, and the Waterfront where you can experience a world class shopping experience.

You are almost guaranteed to be visited by our local Baboon troop. They love surprise visits. And while staring out of the panoramic widows, you could spot the cape clawless otter, or the whole family out looking for breakfast. This is a rare sighting, I myself have spotted them no less than 4 times, Mongeese caracal, and perhaps an African Genet. Be sure to take a slow drive home at night aif you decided to visit one of the nearby restaurants in Simon's Town, and keep your brights on you are almost guaranteed to spot some nocturnal wild life, Porcupines are often spotted.

From about May, the whales start to arrive, whale watching will blow your mind, they come so close into the bay infront of the house, to rub thier tummies on the sand, you can hear them breath. I personally have had an experience swimming with dolphins right infront of the house.

Also keep a look out for our two visiting orcas, Port and Starboard. This is surprisingly not an uncommon site. I have still never had the pleasure of a sighting. So if you do! Please take photos for me!
