Stay in one of two rustic cottages on a beautiful, working farm in the Sneeuberg mountains. These cottages are best suited to families who will enjoy connecting with farm life.
Go for a long mountain walk or sit on a rock and listen to all the sounds in the silence. We also offer Family Constellations Therapy sessions and workshops for groups. Individuals travelling out of season can ask about reduced rates.

The space
Get away from air, sound and light pollution and take the time to connect to yourself and your family. Stay in a simple self catering cottage with comfortable beds. We make environmentally sustainable choices to heat and save water, recycle and reuse. While we have a flushing toilet, you are also invited to use the compost toilet and thus contribute to the positive ecology of the farm. We invite guests to respond to our eco-brick challenge by turning all their plastics into an ecobrick while they are with us. Details when you arrive.

Guest access
Its a half hour drive on dirt roads to get to us. We recommend you spend more than one night to enjoy having arrived in a remote beautiful part of the world. Help on the farm. Explore forest streams. Go for long mountain walks. Relax without being disturbed by cellphones or tv.

Other things to note
There are two cottages on the farm: The Shepherd's cottage and the Garden House. The second is a little smaller but has more beds. The Shepherd's cottage has a solar geyser - so on cloudy days your water will be a little cooler.
Because we live a little way off the beaten track, we are not an ideal quick stop over.
We strive to keep our accommodation accessible for families and so the price is for the whole cottage - making it a better deal for families than for individuals or couples. Though all are welcome.

Grassfed beef and venison, fresh bread and eggs, yogurt, milk and cream cheese (when available) can be purchased on the farm. When possible guests can order meals to be made.

Its very important to arrive before dark as there is no cell phone reception and its very easy to get lost!

No sound, light or air pollution. The best starry nights. Great fun for kids. Streams to play in, forests to explore, mountains to climb. Walk the labyrinth for powerful meditation and clarity.
A trip to Nieu Bethesda you can visit the Owl House, the First People Art Centre, Fossil museum, eat out at the Waenhuis among many other things.
If you are staying longer with us you can visit the historic town of Graaff-Reinet and the Valley of Desolation.
