This is one of the few places in the area with a pool.
Modern & welcoming guesthouse renovated with Melville heritage of arts & culture in mind. Has a bit of both worlds – a quiet street and close proximity to all the sites Melville has to offer.
The house consists of 4 stylish bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, aircon, & Netflix. There are 2 outside self-catering units. All guests use the same swimming pool as the main house.
The host has a private suite in the main house away from the common areas.

The space
Melville Gap Guesthouse is a modern and welcoming guesthouse that has been renovated with Melville heritage of arts and culture in mind. Located on the edge of Melville, it has a bit of both worlds – a quiet street as well as close proximity to all the sites Melville has to offer.

The guesthouse consists of the 4 stylishly renovated bedrooms in the Main house as well as two self-catering units in a separate building for those that prefer a bit more privacy as they have their own entrances.

The open-plan lounge and dining area can easily accommodate a small private or corporate function for up to 10-15 guests. In the evenings, it is a perfect place for a cosy evening watching a game on a large TV or reading a book.

It’s close proximity to UJ and Wits universities makes it a popular place for academics and their families. Situated just off Beyers Naude, the guesthouse is easily reachable by the major highways.

Melville is known for its cosmopolitan and Bohemian lifestyle - thanks to its friendly street life and trendy nightlife.

On the famous 7th Street you can expect to find trendy restaurants, late night cocktail lounges, a bookstore, art galleries, coffee shops, antique shops and a boutiques.

All these places are within walking distance of the guesthouse, but for those who are not keen on exploring by foot, the local tuk-tuks are just a phone call away!

There are many amenities and places of interest nearby. The guesthouse is close to Wits University and the University of Johannesburg, the SABC, Media 24 and 44 on Stanley. Gold Reef City, downtown Johannesburg, Vilikazi Street and Soweto and the Apartheid museum are all within 12 km. For nature lovers, Melville Koppies Nature Reserve is a 5 minute walk away, and the Johannesburg Zoo and Lake are nearby. Golfers can enjoy a round at Parkview Golf Course which is a 5 minute drive away.

Melville is centrally located in Johannesburg and you'll be near the city’s main highways as well as Sandton, Rosebank, Parkhurst and Greenside, all famous for their amazing shopping!
