A tiny home for the adventurous. This simple and rustic refurbished caravan is ideally situated for nature lovers and surfers in the middle of a working indigenous plant nursery in Cape Point with world class surf breaks close by.

The space
We have lovingly created this caravan into a bedroom with a single bed plus a queen sized bed in it, refurbished the feature wall with wooden surfboard offcuts. Leading off the bedroom is little room which serves as a small space lounge/kitchen with a fireplace big enough to cook a meal and heat the house, as well as the cutest two plate gas stove with a tiny grill just big enough for two toasted cheese sandwiches. Make use of the table, benches, a barbecue and surf racks outside while having a sundowner and enjoy the birdsong and brilliant starlit nights. Mountain spring water and wood is provided, and coffee, tea, rusks, milk and honey on request at an extra cost. The shower runs on borehole water and is heated by solar power.

Guest access
There is a little parking bay right next to the Surf Shack. Guests have access to the little wild herb, edible flower and veggie garden, and there are fynbos walks on the mountain side to explore.

Other things to note
We are as eco-friendly as we can be - there are recycling and compost units, the outside shower room has a composting toilet and bidet (As well as a borehole water flush toilet 50 meters away) , the shower is heated by solar (please note - in winter you might not get hot water!) and all of the tap water in the house is from the borehole. All of the grey water from the house is fed through a series of ponds, is filtered by plants and then gets fed back into the gardens as a closed loop sustainable system.
Please note that this space is situated in the middle of a working plant nursery which is busy and active during the week and over the weekend there are workshops run at the Veld and Sea cabin. For those looking for complete privacy and total silence during the day, this is not the right fit for you.

Nature and food are my passion, and when I am travelling these are always my guides. I live and work on a small holding nestled in between a mountainside and the Cape Point Nature Reserve. I enjoy the small things in life, trying to find magic in the ordinary and let me tell you - Cape Town certainly has magical moments everyday! As a host I am very excited to let you experience some of the many hidden pockets of unspoiled beauty - there is adventure waiting around every corner, just begging to be explored.
