Room in a farm stay

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
Newstead Farm - nestling in the rolling hills near Nottingham Road, is surrounded by horses and Nguni cows with two dams for boating and bass fishing, a tennis court, swimming pool and a significant history that dates back to the late 1840. This rural smallholding gives you the chance to experience the true peace and tranquillity of the country, including a 25ha indigenous forest, but yet is very central to top restaurants, golf courses, wedding venues and schools.

The space
This is a comfortable en-suite bedroom with a bathroom / shower. It has its own private entrance that looks out onto a private garden. It has an outside verandah with a microwave and fridge which you share with the room next door.

This the perfect room for those wanting a convenient stop over between Johannesburg and Durban, or if you are out and about every day exploring.

There are four en suite bedrooms in total (in blocks of two) with a private entrance which overlook courtyard, garden and the house swimming pool. The beds can be made up as two single beds, or as a king bed. The 4 rooms are listed on Airbnb separately, so if you require two bedrooms please book two separate rooms. We also have 4 fully equipped self-catering cottages if you are looking for a larger space and more privacy. These are listed separately.

There are many wonderful restaurants in the area which we like to support, so so we don't offer catering or a restaurant. We will gladly help you make a reservation should you wish. We do recommend booking at the weekend as it get busy!

Guest access
You will need a car to get around the area. There is plenty of parking at the farm.

During your stay
We live on the property with our children.

Other things to note
There is a lot of open water on the property from the unfenced swimming pool to the two dams. You can fish in the dams for bass on catch and release basis. There is also lots of wonderful cycling and walking areas around us.
