The century farmhouse is perfect for up to six guests with a living/dining room, kitchenette, three bedrooms, and a spacious family bathroom.

We include FREE use of a Provincial Park pass.

The space
PLEASE NOTE:

Guests have exclusive use of the 1896 air-conditioned, stone farmhouse which is attached to the owner's residence. You may come and go as you wish and wander the spectacular property at your leisure.

The main floor is open concept with a wood-burning fireplace, a dining area and kitchenette with double sink, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, induction hotplate, gas BBQ, dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots and pans and a coffee/tea station (Keurig, French-press, regular coffee makers and kettle). Basic breakfast supplies are provided including milk, granola, cereal, pancake mix and syrup, bread, butter, eggs, coffee, tea, sugar, oil and vinegar, and spices.

A picnic table and clothesline are provided. Beach towels and folding chairs are available to take to the beach. Guests can relax on the front porch in classic Muskoka chairs and, with prior arrangement, enjoy a campfire.

Indoors, relax by the wood-burning fireplace and enjoy high definition television (Satellite, DVD player, Netflix, and Amazon). High-speed internet (fibre to the house) is included. Family board games are available.

Upstairs are 3 quaint bedrooms (one queen bedroom and two double bedrooms) and a large bathroom with a claw-foot tub and walk-in shower. Enjoy the spa housecoats and high-quality towels provided.

The Farm is 5 minutes from Arrowhead Park, 10 minutes from historic downtown Huntsville and 35 minutes from the world-famous Algonquin Park. Access to the Big East River is a 3-minute stroll, ideal for canoeing and kayaking. Numerous lakes with public beaches and boat launch facilities are just a short drive away (Fairy, Peninsula, Vernon and Mary Lakes). Arrowhead Park opens May 1, 2020, for the summer season. Check their website for updates. Algonquin Park is open year-round.

The Trans Canada Trail, great for hikes, is accessible directly from our property.

Guest access
You have a private entrance to the farmhouse and are welcome to wander the property, enjoy the gardens, relax on the front porch or enjoy a campfire with the owner's permission. The Trans Canada Trail is located nearby providing hiking options.

Other things to note
The Farm is a self-catered destination. Guests may enjoy some of the great restaurants in the area or use the kitchenette and BBQ to prepare meals. (Please note there is a kitchenette with a full fridge, coffee/tea making equipment, microwave, induction hot plate, toaster, and toaster oven plus pots, pans, dishes, glassware, and cutlery). Guests may book one of our delicious breakfasts served in the sunroom overlooking the garden, or on the outside patio (weather permitting) at an additional charge ($15/pp - $7/child) according to the host’s availability. Note: This is temporarily discontinued.

The Farm on Old North Road is located a short walk from the Big East River, ideal for canoeists and kayakers. Use of a Provincial Park Pass is included, free of charge, and provides access to all provincial parks in the area. Algonquin and Arrowhead provide beautiful trails for hiking and sandy beaches and lakes for swimming. From mid December to the end of March, Arrowhead offers the famous ice skating trail (check website for night-skating dates), snowshoeing and cross country skiing* (*extra fee for ski trails and equipment rental). In the summer, there are numerous lakes with public beach access for swimming and boating nearby. The Summit Centre in town offers indoor skating rinks and a swimming pool. A visit to the Lions Lookout in town gives a beautiful view of Fairy Lake and the town of Huntsville.

Our home is 10 minutes from Huntsville with grocery stores including Metro, Independent (selling wine and beer), Freshco and Walmart. Other major stores include Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Winners, Staples, LCBO, and The Beer Store. Enjoy strolling Main Street with quaint shops, restaurants, and a microbrewery.

Four golf courses are located within 15 minutes of "The Farm": Huntsville Downs, Grandview Golf Club, Deerhurst, and North Granite Ridge. More options are available in and around Bracebridge and Port Carling.

Many guests have enjoyed a winter dog-sledding experience at North Ridge Ranch 7 km away. Back of Beyond Equine Centre is open year round. Maple Bluff Farm sells locally produced maple syrup products on Williamsport Road and will provide tours. Kawartha Dairy on Highway 60 is open year round and offers 50+ flavours of ice cream, as well as locally produced products including, cheese, deli meats, and maple syrup.
