Bill and Sue were wonderful! We had a change of plans and needed somewhere to stay last minute, and Bill was very welcoming at 9 pm! They also really helped us out by letting us stay two more nights in an RV that’s not listed on air bnb yet. Really kind people and the cutest little RV’s! Would definitely stay again😊

Mossy Ridge Retreat

Had a wonderful week long stay. In a long drive that is fairly private and secluded. Wake up to sounds of nature on the front porch. Tina sent an amazing list of details before our stay that gave us directions for our stay. Water had a slight odor, but got used to it in a few days. They also provided plenty of clean drinking water. Popcorn on the counter was a great touch for a late night snack!
A glass jar labeled 'Valkyrie Farms Coffee' sits on a wooden countertop beside a simple white coffee mug. The jar contains coffee beans, enhancing a cozy kitchen atmosphere.

Country Rhodes Upstairs Suite

Victoria responded very quickly late in the evening about an immediate need for accommodations, and opened up reservations for same day! The location can't be beat for rolling out of the comfortable bed and walking to the Korner Shop and Elevated Grounds for breakfast and coffee, then going across the street to pick up items from either of the two well-stocked hardware stores for renovation projects outside of town. Thoroughly enjoy relaxing on the small porch upstairs. Will stay here when in town.

Highlander River Cabin

I chose Rob’s place for a peaceful, weekend getaway for my boyfriend’s birthday and it was exactly what we needed. The proximity to the water, the serene atmosphere, and the adorable cabin were exactly what I hoped for, and we were not disappointed. Rob was easy to contact when needed and made sure everything felt like home. The two fire pits and hammock were such relaxing touches that we utilized heavily. Don’t let the no running water scare you away, as the setup for the kitchen sink is easy to use and still allows for dish and hand washing. Seneca Rocks is within a few minutes and most things were found at Yokum’s if you need any last minute grabs or souvenirs. I hope to make Rob’s cabin a repeat trip when I need to escape NOVA and it’s loud, non stop pace.

Highland Cabin, pets ok/GW Nat'l Forest/near JMU

TraceyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This cabin was a dream for us! It's very private, yet equipped with all the modern amenities. The beds were super comfy and each bed had multiple sizes and varying softness of pillows, so you could choose what was right for you. We cooked the entire week, and this cabin was completely stocked with cookware, dishes, and a great dishwasher for cleanup. Probably my favorite thing was the screened-in porch. We spent a lot of time out there with coffee, food, and wine, just relaxing and sharing time together. The entire perimeter of the house is fenced in which was very convenient for letting my dog out and not feeling worried about him running off. The host was very responsive to us anytime we needed anything. The location of the cabin does not allow you to just go out and walk though. The drive is steep, rocky, and bumpy, but I felt this was the only drawback of the property.

We had a wonderful weekend away in this cozy camper. It had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend along with fresh eggs and stuff for s’mores 😋 My husband had the BEST time trout fishing right from the bank and quickly caught his limit each day. 5-7 minute drive from Seneca rocks which was a great adventure. Sue and Bill have a really nice piece of paradise right on the creek.. we look forward to staying again and seeing the additions they come up with.
