Beachfront vacation rentals in Oshima District

Following on from last year, I chose Mr. Umi to stay in Amami Oshima.The owner, Shinobu, was always friendly, and made barley tea in the refrigerator, and we were treated to Shinobu's homemade octopus, squid and Yako shellfish ajillo. Sakihara Beach is highly transparent, and when you head offshore, you can enjoy snorkeling with a wide variety of fish, from blue and striped fish, to young Kibinago and sea snails, to larger fish, and if the weather is good, the sunset is impressively beautiful.This time it was 2 nights and 3 days, but I saw sea turtles that I didn't see last year, and I also found a water shell that is said to ward off evil.Would love to stay longer next time.

I feel so very lucky to have had the chance to stay here & to meet Yuki & her family. The views are stunning, the room is super clean, spacious & comfortable, the food at the cafe is delicious & the host family are exceptionally friendly & helpful! Absolutely stay here if you get the chance. I stayed for a week in the downstairs western style room, but next time I’ll try the Japanese style room upstairs. Yoron is one of my favorite places in Japan, but I also SUP & snorkel so Yoron is SUP heaven for me. I recommend a car or scooter. I brought my rental car over with the A-Line ferry company from Motobu, Okinawa. But if you don’t have a lot of gear & a scooter license ( a must for Japan) scooter or electric bike would work great to get around. I work remotely, & the wifi works best in the cafe & can be unreliable in the room, but if you’re not working, it’s not an issue. I was lucky and had perfect weather everyday in mid May. Don’t miss Yuki’s Dutch baby pancakes!

It was my first time staying on an island of this size without a woman's license, but thanks to Yuki and her family, I was able to relax and enjoy myself without any problems. It also had a beautiful kitchen, so I went to the supermarket every day and bought fruit and sashimi from the island and enjoyed breakfast and dinner. I also felt the kindness of the islanders. I had a great stay with the atmosphere of the movie "Megane". There were many things that are not in the city, and I was able to have a trip that made me want to come back again. Thanks for your hospitality. I will be back.

We had a great stay at Dominique and Yoshimi’s beautiful home. We enjoyed the swimming pool and jacuzzi very much! The view was spectacular! We had a good visit with this nice couple the first night. Yoshimi kindly helped us arrange the day tour for us the next day. They also made good recommendations for places to eat and things to do and visit. I would highly recommend this place to stay if you are visiting Amami Oshima.

Excellent hospitality for three nights and four days!It was clean, stylish, and close to the sea and the airport.In the ocean right in the ocean, you can see a lot of sea turtles by snorkeling.

We were looking for a place to spend the end of 2017 in a calm and peaceful place. We really have not been disappointed by this house that really allowed us to relax by the sea with a wonderful green environment. The house was clean and fully equipped to spend a great moment. I really recommend this place and the surroundings with white sand beaches. Amami really deserves to spend some days to discover this remote and secret island full of surprises and great people. We will come back!

What a lovely place to stay in Amami, an island that is not spoilt (yet) by non-Japanese tourists. The place was spotless, had everything we needed, was secluded and allowed a lot of privacy. The host was easy to communicate with and gave plenty of recommendations. I wish we could stay longer

The beautiful Amami Blue Utahara Beach is right in front of you.Even when I was out in the yard, it was hard for people to see me, and I also enjoyed the barbecue.

Lovely, clean cottage on a beautiful beach on a beautiful island. House was as described with a well outfitted kitchen that allowed for easy meal prep and a relaxing stay. Sleeping to gentle waves was peaceful. Really enjoyed the beach walks.

A great place to stay on the serene and beautiful ocean.My friend got sick during my trip, but I told you what happened, and I happily checked in early.It was very helpful to have a quick and flexible response.The kitchen and bathroom are well cleaned and very clean.The free rental life jackets and snorkels have become more fulfilling to play in the sea.Thank you for your time.I would definitely like to stay again when I come to Amami Oshima. Amazing location and accommodation and person who met us was really friendly.

The location by the sea was great, and it was a clean and perfect place to stay. It was a little disappointing that there was no Wi-Fi connection, but the open kitchen was well-stocked with seasonings, and the living room was spacious enough for six people, so it was a very good experience. I was particularly impressed by the cleanliness of the linens, towels, and water areas.
