House vacation rentals in Ocean View

We had a great time at Mollies place. The house is very comfortable. We loved the pool and outdoor area. The location is great, close to restaurants and shops. There is a great hike close by to the Captain Cook monument, golf, beaches, it’s all near by. Mollie was very helpful and gave us great advice.

Where do I even start? What a magical home with lush landscaping. Waking up to large windows that look out to the ocean was priceless. The location was quiet and safe and close to many activities we wanted to do in Kona. The beds were very comfortable as well. The pool was nice to cool off in after a long day but keep in mind it is not heated so depending on the time of day or sunlight it may be too cold for some. Also, being in such a lush tropical landscape with a large natural area behind the house there are birds and frogs making noise in the evening, which can be calming to some (like us) or can be too loud for others. When we visit the Big Island again this would be number 1 option for our stay.

We had a wonderful 7 day stay. Our 3 boys (16, 13, and 10) spent hours on the diving board and in the pool. Sandra’s place had everything we needed for beach trips, including beach chairs, wagon, umbrella, cooler and beach towels. I was so happy to have a washing machine to wash out the sandy towels and suits after our beach trips. It was a 5-10 minute trip for Costco,-target and Walmart and a 30-40 minute trip to Hāpuna Beach (don’t miss the Malsada stand on the highway on your way). We would come back to the house to cook supper, swim more in the pool, and watch the sunset from the beautiful yard. We also got a lot of use out of the basketball net in the driveway, and volleyball net in the side yard. Sandra was extremely helpful with all aspects of our stay, including local recommendations. Would definitely stay again if on the Big Island!

Marilyn's place is flawless. My husband and I have been booking places through airbnb for a while and this was definitely the best one ever. I am very picky with cleanliness, and this place was spotless. Craig the home caretaker made sure to gave us all the information we needed, show us around, besides being super nice and friendly. The view from this tiny house was incredible, the place was exactly like the pictures, comfortable and had everything we needed. Marilyn's hospitality was amazing. She left us fresh fruit from her garden and a delicious cake on the fridge for when we arrived. Both Craig and Marilyn made us feel welcomed and made our experience perfect. We hope to come back someday.

We had an incredible time and felt so at home in this beautiful place. Hosts were responsive and made everything easy. Neighborhood is quiet outside a small village far from any hustle and bustle, but easy drives to do and see the wonders of the island. House was immaculate but felt like a home, not the gray, generic cookie cutter of so many places. Truly heaven on Earth. Wish we could have stayed forever.

Unbelievable setting. House was great and Nikki was super responsive as a host. The gorgeous setting of the rainforest felt like we were in the middle of a jungle. I was expecting more of a traditional Hawaiian vibe with the pool but it was easy to head out to a beach during the day to enjoy the sun and water and come back to an oasis in the evening. Beds were super comfortable and house was clean, comfortable and relaxing. Sauna was an incredible bonus! Would definitely stay again ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

We had a lovely stay at Mary’s place. The home is nestled in a lush, serene setting and was fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable visit. Mary and her property manager were responsive, helpful, and accommodating. We loved relaxing by the pool and taking evening walks to catch the sunset over the ocean at the nearby park. The kitchen was a joy to cook in, and we loved the open-air layout—it felt like a home away from home. Waking up to the sight and sounds of the ocean from the upstairs bedroom is something we’ll miss. Thank you, Mary, for graciously sharing your beautiful space with us! The memories our family made at this home are something we'll always hold dearly.

Tim's place was incredible. We were looking for a place to relax, re-connect and re-charge and Tim's place over delivered on all three. Inside the home was spacious and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Outside we were able to enjoy walking the orchard, hanging out on the lanai, and watching the sunsets from the hot tub. Tim was very quick to respond to our requests for beach or dining recommendations. We will definitely be back on our next trip to The Big Island !!!

I had a great stay at Mark’s place! He was very responsive and helpful throughout my visit. The space itself is beautiful—high ceilings, very spacious, and thoughtfully prepared. Everything was set up to make me feel right at home. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others! Also, we stayed 4 nights and found local hidden gem places that we could enjoy. Location is very private and quiet which is loved it.

Lovely location, thoughtful amenities and a wonderful Lanai, (porch) where we were able to sit and have breakfast or best, view the sunsets every night.

This is perfect location if you want to visit Kona and Hilo. The farm is so beautiful and peaceful. The house has everything you need in case you forget something at home. The host is super friendly and a great baker.

Feels like a private getaway home in the countryside, plenty big enough for two families. Make sure to enjoy the starry sky from the balcony or patio if you're here on a clear night! The house is on "the top of the top" of the nearby area, so you can see for miles, all the way to the ocean.

we spent a week in Matthew's place and would be happy to come back on a future trip. The house is large and full of good stuff - games, kitchen stuff, and more. The immediate surroundings are beautiful as is the view from the porch. Matthew is extremelya helpful and thoughtful. He really cared that we will enjoy our stay. Indeed a five star host. Ocean view is about 90 mins from Kona airport. I suggest not arriving at dark the first time - the area is dark and following the maps app we entered one driveway too early - backing up at darkness was scary. Make sure to follow Matthew's instructions and not just the app. The driveway to the house is not fully paved. However, after you see the way once at daylight it becomes easier. overall, we could use the place as a most comfortable place from which we could reach volcano national park several times and many beaches. it was good to be back to a cosy place at night. We would be happy to do this again!

Steph provided a super clean and cute home for our stay on the big island. She provided a ton of extra amenities to insure we had the best trip possible!

Beautiful oasis with a great beach to walk down to. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we loved that beach! It was so peaceful and the waves were often mellow. It is a bit of a drive into Kona, about 45 minutes. There is a lot to do near the house but to get to white sandy beaches you have to go about 1.25 hours away. The house was great. Clean and open. Neighbors are loud at times but mostly quiet. When they are loud though it is really loud. Overall lovely place and great value.

We love “unique stays” and this was so unbelievable peaceful and luxurious and so uniquely beautiful. It was the most perfect place to stay to make the most of Volcanoes National Park. Would absolutely recommend!!

Nancy was very responsive from when we first booked. She offered great recommendations to happenings in the area and we really felt at home at her place. So much, that we are staying again in July! Mahalo!

Peter and Lori are friendly and welcoming and their property is truly lovely -- it is evident that a lot of care, effort and thought goes into to maintaining it. The cottage makes a perfect home base for exploring the area. It is also so pretty and comfortable that you just might want to pick up a pizza, watch some Jeopardy and dream about what it would be like if every Friday evening was that perfect :) Thank you so much Peter & Lori!

Delphine and Guy were amazing hosts! Helpful and hospitable from beginning to end. We will definitely be staying again in the future. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a more personal, private experience on this island. Amazing views all around. Quiet, unique nature. All together an experience my family will never forget!

Perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of sightseeing.

This trip was for my mother’s 66th birthday. She passed away in Nov of 2024. It was always her dream to come to Hawaii. So we had the pleasure of being her ashes to release some in paradise. This place was absolutely gorgeous. The environment was so quite and peaceful. It was everything me and my family needed. The closest store was 12 minutes away. And they had everything you would need for your stay. We were extremely pleased. We enjoyed getting to see the volcano flowing, the black sand beach, and rainbow falls. Sights we will remember for the rest of our lives. Thanks some much “Midwest Family” for allowing us into your home.

Beautiful getaway felt like we were in our own little world, home was spotless and had touches of Hawaii everywhere. Just beautiful

We have been to Hawaii a few times, usually staying at a resort type property. On this trip we visited Big Island for the first time and stayed in this area to be nearby family of friends we were visiting with. This provided a very unique side of Hawaii. Palaoa House is a beautiful, quaint, quiet, private and lush property. Upon arriving we were amazed by the turn down the little unpaved driveway that led to this private and spacious getaway. The sounds of chickens, frogs and birds fills the air and the property is like a botanical garden, completely isolated from everything else. Josh was incredibly responsive, friendly, helpful, proactive and kind. It was a pleasure communicating with him throughout the process and we appreciate how he made the experience more comfortable and fulfilling.
