We loved our stay! Len and Shannon are incredible hosts! Every sunset from the deck was perfect! Having the convenience store below was also nice for grabbing a snack. We wish we could have stayed longer! I would highly recommend the stay! A++++++++++++++

Wish we could have stayed longer! We didn’t need to bring anything. All linens, paper products, towels, and kitchenware were provided. Right down to mosquito spray. picnic blankets, and s’mores. Charles was helpful, flexible, kind, and available. He was willing to give my kids and I an up close lesson on beekeeping. He has 5 well maintained hives on his property and was eager for us to come along checking in on them. It was very impressive! The property was beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. There are a few paths to venture out on. One lead to the private beach, another out to a close view of the bay. The deck was the show stopper. The view of the water was amazing. While sitting on the deck, there were hummingbirds, butterflies, and deer passing through. And we could see all of this from the comfort of the hot tub . The game room was a nice bonus. There was something for everyone: darts, poker, drawing, puzzles, movies, board games. I appreciate you sharing your cottage with us!

It was a great stay and a perfect location for our quick family back east. It was very comfortable, clean and a the right size for our family of 4. It was nice to have our own place to stay and not to far from our family. We didn’t spend much time in the town but it looked cute with shops, cafes and restaurants. We had great communication with Maria, she was very quick to respond. Thanks for a great and comfortable stay!!

Great for a group/family weekend getaway. Erin and Aryn are very hospitable hosts and provided all the essentials. Everything in the kitchen and all the light switches are clearly labeled, making it easy to navigate.

This was our family's second stay at The River House. We had another relaxing and fun week! Kayaking across to the state park is one of our favorite things to do there. We also enjoy shopping and eating in Leonardtown. We had one rainy day, but reading on the day bed with a beautiful view (in spite of the weather) and working on a puzzle were an enjoyable way to spend the day. We hiked out to Calvert Cliffs State Park one day and enjoyed lunch on Solomons Island on the way back. John's pet friendly Airbnb is such an awesome place to vacation with our dogs. One of them loves to fetch her floating stick off the little beach area and play frisbee in the yard (bring a long leash that you can tie to the badminton net poles). Our other dog loves basking in the sun in the yard and on the deck. There are so many great things about this place, but the sunsets alone are worth the stay!

Absolutely the best place I’ve ever stayed—5 stars all the way! This home is right on the river, and the beach is full of beautiful sea glass that my children loved collecting. We made some of the most amazing memories here as a family. The accommodations were incredibly comfortable, with plenty of room for everyone, and even our dogs had a wonderful time exploring and relaxing. Everything was clean, cozy, and well thought out. The host, Katie is incredibly kind and approachable. I truly can’t recommend this place enough—we can’t wait to come back!

This was a fantastic vacation rental- the kids’ favorite yet! You can’t beat the views and the proximity to the beach and shops. There is also a playground, library, ice cream shop, and pizza just a block away. The host had snacks, water, and milk available for us and the kids when we arrived, which was very welcome after a long car ride! And having beach chairs and beach umbrellas for use made our beach days so much better! We brought our paddle board and launched it off the local beach which was quite fun. Annapolis and DC are both far drive and, when we weren’t enjoying the local amenities, we found plenty to do just an hour drive or less away. I highly recommend this rental. Thank you for allowing us to rent your lovely home and we will definitely be back

Private space for quiet downtime with the family.

This is a family friendly place to stay with little ones! Lois did a great job at making sure we had what we needed for the little ones, including baby gates, a pac n play and a high chair!

Absolutely beautiful stay! The cabin has the cutest theme and the proximity to the water was great and a gorgeous view. Abby and family was so kind, responsive, and great hosts. Would highly recommend this getaway!

We really enjoyed our weekend getaway. The house had ample space for our group of 8. The kitchen was well-appointed with all the necessities to cook a good meal. We really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and hanging out on the big couch in the living room. If it wasn't so cold we would have loved spending time on the large back deck or sitting down by the lake.

When I first found this apartment on Airbnb, it seemed almost too good to be true. I thought there was a catch! The pictures online don’t do it Justice at all. The apartment is gorgeous in person and the view is breathtaking. Waking up to the view felt like I was away on a private island or something. Kim is the most thoughtful, fun host. She provided us with all the information we needed and responded to our questions promptly. The apartment was not only tidy but also comfortable. The kitchen contains everything you need. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom and balcony are clean and light. The location was incredible. Kim had excellent restaurant recommendations and was of great help. She went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Thanks Kim for such a wonderful time! We will definitely be back.

STAY HERE NOW!! Absolutely amazing! This spacious dream house was everything we hoped for and more. We hosted a lovely family dinner and still had plenty of room to relax and enjoy. All amenities that you will need! The host’s communication was excellent—responsive, helpful, and kind. Honestly, we never wanted to leave. Stay here now before it’s booked—this place is a gem!

This place is a GEM. Dave and Misuun were extremely inviting and accommodating upon arrival to this beautiful bed and breakfast. They made great recommendations and kept the place very neat and tidy. Our room was nicely sized with our own bathroom and a really comfortable bed. We woke to well prepared breakfast each morning and really good coffee. We swam in the heated pool, relaxed in the cabana and played cornhole during the day. This place is just a walk away from anywhere in town which was convenient. At night we played in the retro arcade which had an overwhelming amount of games which were all free play. We'll certainly be looking forward to visiting again next year

The house is beautiful and very large. Three families with kids had plenty of room to spread out. The views are just as pictured and the finishes were all high end. As we knew from the listing, the pool was right on the deck with no fence, and this was stressful with our younger kids (as were the stairs). This wasn't a surprise but something to keep in mind if you're traveling with small kids. As another review pointed out the house feels out of place in the neighborhood. Melanie was very responsive and helpful and we had a great trip.

Thanks Nina! My family really enjoyed our stay. The place is well stocked for little ones (toys, games, pack n play, high chairs etc.). The kitchen is well stocked with spices and cooking supplies - the small private beach was perfect for my kids (both under 4). Great A/C and many comfy couches to sprawl out. We would stay again in the future.

From the moment we opened the door, it felt like home. The neighborhood was quiet. The house was clean and well equipped to handle all our needs. Seeing the sun over the water first thing in the morning was absolutely breath taking. My only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. We’re looking forward to returning. Amazing. Just amazing.

We enjoyed our second visit to this property and look forward to more visits. The view is exceptional as the house is on a bluff overlooking a wide river view. We sighted bald eagles, osprey, hummingbirds, cardinals and so many other birds while drinking coffee and enjoying slow mornings on the covered patio. We used the kayaks and canoe for trips to Sharktooth Island where we found many shark teeth, stingray teeth and beach glass. We enjoyed time around the outside fire pit making hot dogs, mountain pies and smores. The gas grill was useful to make cheeseburgers for dinner. The property is very secluded and private and is well suited for a family retreat. The house is equipped with everything you need for cooking meals, playing games, reading books or watching movies. Additionally, the owner supplies linens (sheets, blankets, towels), paper products (toilet paper, napkins, paper towels), cleaning supplies and shower products. We definitely recommend this property!

We had a lovely stay at Heather’s place. The house was clean, comfortable, and we felt taken care of. The porch with the view of the water and sunrises was so relaxing. Visiting during the off-season was peaceful, but there was still plenty to do in the area. We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway weekend.

Ebony is one of the best hosts I’ve ever had through Airbnb. Very responsive and helpful! You want crab at 10pm? She’ll find it for you! The view from the home was gorgeous. Very nice and quiet which allowed us some relaxation. Pleasantly surprised by the fireflies in the backyard and the huge magnolias on the tree (neither can be found in Montana where we came from). Great place. Would stay again if I ever return to the area!

We had a beautiful stay. It was exactly what we needed.

My husband and I stayed here for a month while we had work done on our boat at a local marina. The location is perfect for access to the local marina as well as all the restaurants in Deale. Yen was super responsive as was John. They responded to all our questions in a timely manner, and were always very kind. The home is well laid out, and worked perfectly to use as a homebase. Good wifi, comfy couch, comfy bed with good pillows. The master suite is gorgeous and well lit. Kitchen is well appointed and had all the appliances/utensils we needed. Had several work spaces that were great for zoom calls and other "office" type work. The tap water didn't have any odors. Enjoyed having coffee on the front porch with a lovely view of the Chesapeake and the screened in porch in the back was great as the evening bugs came out. Highly recommend this home!

We had a wonderful long weekend here! The house is well-equipped and David was even able to secure fishing and crabbing gear so our two kids could try to catch dinner. It is a quiet street of cottages with friendly neighbors in a gorgeous location - the view is so calming. We enjoyed exploring the local area (love the coffee shop and brewery in Montross), kayaking, swimming, and relaxing on the big screened porch. A feature here that you don’t always have at the shore is a great sandy beach! Can’t wait to come back for another getaway.
