What a hidden gem!! I honestly do not have to look for another place to stay unless the place is unavailable. The host Pauline is so sweet, healing and amazing and she shares that with us. I recommend whole heartily you stay here.

Very peaceful area nice and quiet and walking distance to the river. Lisa was available and very helpful with local information. We will be returning !!

A beautiful spot to land in a rugged landscape. I appreciate how Laura was communicative and present if needed, but gave lots of space for us to enjoy the quiet solitude. I enjoyed a peaceful evening viewing the moon and stars from the soaking tub. It’s a great town, too—really enjoyed the friendly people and delicious food.

The Petrolia Tower is astonishing. It's unlike any other place you'll ever stay. The path up the hill, which is steep and not for anyone with bum knees or the like, is an art gallery with giant installations by sculptor Jim Danisch that tell the story of the Mattole Valley. The main tower room itself is a light-filled space with windows on all sides. I opened the windows on the east and west side and felt the sun-warmed marine air through the day as I wrote letters, read, and strolled down to the Mattole River for a swim.

Alden's place really deserves 10 stars. It is so well taken care of. The shower, the kitchen, the porch, everything is great and the bed sooo comfortable. Super clean! Pristine hot tub. Quiet unit and area. Did not hear anything from the people in the unit next door. Heating and cooling are quiet and quick. Walk less than five minutes to a couple of very good restaurants. And so close to all the redwood attractions. Hard to beat.

My dog and I only stayed overnight but the cabin was a perfect stop off when traveling up 101! It’s right off the highway but feels very secluded. Amazing amenities with the washer/dryer and exercise room, though we didn’t need them this time; we did enjoy eating outside in the central picnic area. Charles was super responsive and flexible and I always appreciate a place that welcomes dogs without tons of restrictions. I’d definitely stay again and encourage anyone to book :)

My children and I absolutely loved our stay here. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and things to use for cooking. Everything was very clean. We all slept very well, as the beds were comfortable. Which is a rarity in most places. My children said it would be amazing if there was a hammock in the back and I agree would be a great addition to wanna lay under the trees. Other than that, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Stayed at a cabin for the long weekend around Valentine's day. Wonderful property and location, right on the river. Charles is a wonderful host and helped out with local recommendations. Great place for a weekend getaway, pretty close to Richardson's Grove State Park, Humboldt as well. Avenue of the Giants is like a 20 minute drive away and it is right on the US 101.

We really enjoyed our stay at Brian's place! The location is very central to exploring the Redwoods, short drive away from Eel River and Avenue of the Giants. The house is very private, well kept, and has all the essentials. We especially loved the DVD & VHS player in the bedroom. Thank you Brian!

A very special cabin with lots of charm and personal touches. Feels like a mountain cabin, far from the hwy, make sure to arrive during daylight. If you are looking for a solitude, surrounded by nature and fine host, look no more!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Maureen’s place. Maureen was incredibly welcoming! She seemed genuinely happy to have us there and excited to share her farm with us. She is an Airbnb host who truly enjoys the hosting for more than just the financial reasons. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and at home, which we did. The area itself is very remote. I suggest using an AWD vehicle to get there. We spent two nights there and went back and forth to the avenue of the giants and it was about an hour’s drive to get there and the roads aren’t great in that area. Maureen’s farm is rustic and beautiful. The creek at the property is beautiful. The horses were fun to pet as well as some of the other animals. It’s so quiet and peaceful and feels like you’ve stepped back in time. The night sky and stars were a beautiful sight to behold. The apartment we stayed at was comfortable and cozy. Overall, highly recommend staying here! We would definitely love to visit again.

We loved this little cabin! It was perfect proximity to Avenue of the Giants and Garberville. We were able to enjoy Father’s Day and relax after fun adventures in the forest with our furry friends. Thanks so much, we hope to be back. XO Lucy and family

What a cute little cabin in the redwoods. There’s a nice path down to the river. And a wonderful cat welcomes you and provides lots of loves. Be aware that there are no doors on the bedrooms, but that was OK.
